Hyperpop is such a broad and general term that refers to many distinct styles with different genre inspirations, but I feel like generally I can identify hyperpop because it almost always sounds like a beautiful experimental electronic producer beginning to emerge from their chrysalis only to be pinned down and chained to obnoxiously conventional melodic structure and forced lyrics

Day 6
Im so angry about the report from this one therapist. How she writes everything the way she enjoyed percieving us - happy, touched, changed.. disgusting. Saying bullshit that was never true, but whos gonna believe the therapist that reads the report next? me, the supposed drug-addict that feels misunderstood, or the therapist who made up this diagnosis in the first place?
.
Cilli feels it, too. Its funny to me, how she describes these feelings and thoughts as "so scary, believe me, i NEVER thought this way ever". That she needs to change this about her life, needs to leave the city, shes already 27 and never lived somewhere else, never lived in a shared flat, other people made something of themselves by her age, and her body is only useful until shes 35, after that theres no use for her anymore, so she guesses, she just lives as long as shes young and than, finish.
Its scary, indeed. Will it pass or do I need to make drastic changes?
I have so much pain, when I think about the time with Ajussi and Sakana. I miss it so much. I hated it, but I miss the business, the feeling of being someone and something. Everyday was different and so scary, because we acted like we were something, when in fact, we werent.
I regret leaving. Would we have been able to be something, if we pushed through? Would black thunder be something already? Would I have access to the music field with Woojung, to film producing, post-production, to kpop-industry, to so much more? Would I create content, like Kanghee does, for what ever, for who ever, at least we put our name on it?
Sakana stayed with him and didnt do it and i left and needed to be depressed for a few months. But she is aiming high now, while i am scared. so, so scared.
And she and cilli, they are beuatiful, alwayzs were and always are, and i feel like i need to start from the scratch. with my skin healing, finding out what fits to me. was i even ready back then? i felt like a little irl and i fstill do.

Week 8 Face Filters Summary
Augmented Reality What is it?
Ronald Azuma states that Augmented Reality allows users to view the real world, with virtual objects superimposed within the real world.
AR has been around for more than half a century, however its become really popular since smartphones and apps like snapchat were able to utilise fun filters that superimposed themselves around the users face or different objects.
Why are filters are important to understand?
Its such a fast growing technology that understanding it will give us a more effective utility.
Instagram is one of the biggest social media sites that utilises this technology and offers it to its users having 1-2 billion users, 46% of those utiise filters regularly.
The most popular filters seem to be the ones that change the users face, these are known as beauty filters and are mostly used on sites like TikTok and Snapchat.
For apps like Snapchat, they don't benefit from the same algorithmic monetisation as Instagram and TikTok. So by using augmented reality back in 2014 they were able to utilise sponsored filters where they invited users to make sponsored videos, of various products (Hawker & Carah 2021, pg.13).
Beauty Filters:
Now for scrolling through instagram stories, you'll no doubt be hit by hundreds of photos of influencers posting selfies with filters overlaying themselves, now this may be seen as playful, but it actually promotes a single minded homgenic standard of beauty where all these women/men are starting to look the same.
Same goes for beauty apps which allow people to edit their photos in a way that allows them to get the desired look out their photos. This is something so common now online that its really hard to tell whether anything is real or not, thankfully influencers that make it to obvious are called out on it. The effect these apps are having on beauty standards is tremendous now women in particular before posting an image must think to themselves how will this be recieved, am I going to get the desired response, is my look right? It must play horribly on that persons sense of self worth.
Tumblr media
Such Phenomenons have been named for particular apps such as 'Snapchat Dysmorphia'
Speaking on this issue, A plastic surgeon, Dr Yagoda, talked about the various clients he has done surgery for and one thing that remained a constant for all his clients was the desire to have done what the snapchat filters provide (Ramphul & Mejias 2018, pg.2).
Another case was from a Dr Yosho, who said a client requested to look excatly like her snapchat filter, which the Doctor declined and offered counselling instead (Ramphul & Mejias 2018, pg.2). This is truly how this should be treated as a form of dysmorphia, unfortunately majority of plastic surgeons wouldn't turn down clients if they requested something such as this, as they themselves are running a buisness and are unknowingly creating a bigger problem, where people will start taking plastic surgery further and further.
A change for the better:
Whats now become popular are things called 'Ambient Filters' which show more natural beauty than anything and has been poularised by people like Kendall Jenner, who is viewed as the most naturally beuatiful out the Kardashian family.
Tumblr media
Gender and Filters:
Filters that have been created for beautification are being used by more men, even cis gendered males, however their sexuality as a result is automatically questioned, as using beauty filters is something society deems as inherently female, which is unfortunate given the strides we have made with the acceptance of non hetero gendered people, this should be something that everyone should have a choice for whether they want to use it or not.

How to protect your skin from UV rays
Tumblr media
For all the busy time you we would spend outside, odds are we've heard an admonition or two about the fact that it is so imperative to wear sunscreen. It is no surprising fact that most skin-related issues are brought about by a lot of exposure to those bright UV rays. Our skin is more likely to get a sunburn, sun damage during the midday hours when the Sun’s UV rays are the strongest. Constant exposure during these hours can also lead to skin cancer.
Let’s understand the problem deeply. The primary sorts of UV rays that can influence our skin are UVA rays and UVB rays. They penetrate much deeper into the skin causing much more collagen damage at the dermis level and causing the skin to lose the elasticity and firmness faster and increasing dullness.
Effects of UV Rays
Now, let’s break down UV into UVA and UVB.
UVA rays cause skin damage that leads to tanning as well as skin ageing and wrinkles.
UVB rays cause sunburn and play a key role in developing dull and weak skin.
The use of Sunscreen in fighting minimising the effects of UV rays
Sunscreen is a topical product available in various formats which helps in shielding our skin from the UV rays to an extent. It helps in minimising the risk of harmful effects of UV rays like sunburn, sun damage on the skin. It is always advisable to limit the exposure of our skin to these UV rays. With today’s lifestyle its always difficult to limit our exposure.Hence, whether indoor or outdoor one should wear a sunscreen throughout the day. Sunscreen should be considered as a basic protection to limit the worsening of skin damage.
What is SPF?
Every sunscreen has an SPF number and SPF is short for sun protection factor. It helps determine how well a sunscreen can protect the skin from UVB rays which causes sunburn, damages skin and can also contribute to skin cancer. The calculation takes place in this way: The ratio of the amount of UV radiation needed to cause reddening with the sunscreen to the amount of radiation needed to cause reddening without any sunscreen.
What SPF provides the highest protection against UV rays?
Based on the SPF we can understand the amount of UVB rays that can be blocked.
·         SPF 15 blocks 93% of UVB rays
·         SPF 30 blocks 97% of UVB rays
·         SPF 50 blocks 98% of UVB rays
However we should also understand that these are only guiding numbers but how long the effect of a sunscreen lasts depends on the intensity of UVB rays, the exposure of the skin to these rays and the skin type. It is always advisable to choose a right SPF and re-apply based on the individual’s activity outdoor. For day to day activities the minimum recommendation for daily sun protection is SPF 30.
In addition to a sunscreen it is always advisable to take a few more precautions to limit the exposure of these UV rays. To name a few - staying in shade, walking with an umbrella ,avoid going out when the Sun’s UV rays are strongest which is usually between 12-4 PM and also avoiding products with excess harmful chemicals.
Why Ayurvedic cream with SPF is the best choice from UV radiation?
An ayurvedic cream is formulated with many well known herbs which are known to and believed to benefit our skin since ages even when used for a prolonged time. On the other hand though the chemical products help in sun protection but over usage may lead to skin damage over a period of time. Hence an ideal mix would be to use a Ayurvedic cream with SPF which would help in providing the necessary sun protection while nourishing the skin with the proven age old herbs.
Include an ayurvedic day cream that works like a moisturizer as well as an SPF 30 sunscreen in your daily skin care routine for a healthy, glowing skin.

April 6th, 2021
23/100 days of productivity
Hello! First day of lessons after holidays. Felt a bit tired and almost fell asleep during maths, but otherwise, I was productive. I revised my biology notes - embryogenesis and evolution. It’s not my favourite topic, but there are worse :D
Also, it snowed early in the morning, so when I looked out of the window, it was all snowy. I like snow, but for my geographical location, it’s not usual to have snow in April (but it already happened in the past). I already want it to be sunny, I want everything to bloom, to wear cute skirts, to go for beuatiful walks and hikes... For now, there’s only my mug with my fav tea for me :D

Wine: expectation vs reality
It is clear from numerous example in the readings (e.g., blind tasting tests, effect on accompanying food) that a lot of consumers preference for wine is related to perception, as opposed to real product quality. This is not surprising, given that even expert wine tasters have trouble differentiating French from Californian wine (as per the case).
Since this is the case, it seems that the best strategy for Concha Y Toro is the top-down approach: leverage the more premium brands to sell cheaper wine. This will give consumers a feeling of being consuming higher quality wine, for a lower price, which will incentivize consumption. The other way around, going from the cheaper brands and trying to make them better and command higher prices seems very difficult to achieve (for example: the case with the brand in Japan is of particular relevance, it took the company several years to overcome a "cheap, low quality wine" stigma).
Another note on Concha y Toro branding strategy: they seem to disregard branding and marketing as an important aspect of their strategy ("product first, marketing second"), this seems to be a short-sighted approach. Because most of the consumption is driven by factors other than product quality (wine origin, consumer perception of quality), there is a major opportunity to invest in branding and, by establishing a strong image, influencing consumers.
I believe this is especially true considering behavioral aspects: currently, there is a clear choice overload in wine consumption (there are alway many brands to choose from, at every store or restaurante selling wine), which leads consumers to choose their wine based on some sort of proxy (price range, beuatiful label / packaging, country of origin). If one company manages to be the known brand of wine among all the others, it will command great power among consumers because the brand will be one of the proxies consumers will use to select their wines.
