Maddy’s Top Five Favorite TMNT Episodes from Every Series!

Welcome to my ranking list! My first of many, hopefully! I even spiced things up and made it all fancy with the different font! 😂 god I’m getting old.

A while ago I made a PowerPoint presentation for fun about the history of the TMNT and the franchise. From that point it led to me gaining a spot in a YouTube video series discussing the movies leading up to the premier of Mutant Mayhem, and it’s been one of the best things to happen to me despite the terrible stuff I’ve gone through.

TMNT really saved me at the lowest point of my life in the winter of 2022. It inspired me to go back to Tumblr. I met and befriended incredibly talented people in this fandom. And I’ve found a reason to be happy again because of it. The pain of losing my big sister still aches, and I miss her more each passing day, but I know she’d tell me to get off my ass and do what made me happy.

So for my birthday this weekend, I’ll share this with you guys to celebrate something that brought me joy through all this pain. ❤️‍🩹

Lemme explain the criteria for this real fast;

The episode had to have come from a current/ up to date show. It has to be fully completed!

The episodes have to catch my interest and the plot needs to be gripping! The angstier the better!

Any of the series episodes are candidates for a win! Except for certain ones that I’d rather not watch 🤣

SPOILERS BEWARE! Cuz… well, I dunno who’s finished the shows and I don’t wanna ruin the surprise for others!

Onto the list proper! Starting with the series that started it all: 1987!

The Maltese Hamster ( Season 3 Ep. 4 ) An excellent Donatello solo episode that takes the tone of a detective noir movie, but keeping the fun vibe of the show! Donnie gets to take center stage for once, April gets to use a laser gun, and the shift in tone sets the mood really well! It’s downright harrowing to watch a building collapse on Donnie and see him limping away from the scene in agony, passing out at Irma’s feet, trying to save his brothers despite the odds. Donnie’s my favorite turtle for a reason!

Raphael Meets His Match ( Season 4 Ep. 17 ) The first appearance of Mona Lisa, and I can see why the fans adore this ship so much! The chemistry between Mona and Raph throughout this one episode is really telling of how impactful one character can be to a franchise! Mona is really fun! She’s not just a token ‘girl character’ trope or an archetype, she can handle herself and kick ass alongside the turtles, plus she and Raph have some pretty witty banter together!

Beware The Lotus ( Season 3 Ep. 28 ) The introduction of Lotus Blossom! It’s speculated that the inspiration for Karai came from Lotus! Lotus and Leo had great chemistry together, it's a shame we only got two episodes to spend with her. She really is an interesting character with loads of story potential about finding your place in the world, discovering who you are, changing your destiny to make it what you want. This is me basically saying I am now part of the Lotus Blossom Fan Club.

Cowabunga, Shredhead! ( Season 3 Ep. 18 ) This is one of the fan favorite episodes, and after I watched it for the first time I could not stop laughing. James Avery does his best Mikey impression while playing the over the top Shredder, and everyone just accepts it??? It’s downright genius! The meme material from this one is plentiful!

Michelangelo Meets Mondo Gecko ( Season 5 Ep. 4 ) The introduction of Mondo himself, and he’s got a really cool design! On first viewing I was pleasantly surprised by his unique color scheme and his character! He’s a bad guy that gets a redemption arc by the end of the episode! I was rooting for him the whole time! It was this debut that made me adore Mondo, and he’s since become my favorite mutant character of the franchise!

Honorable Mentions are Donatello’s Duplicate and Turtlemaniac!

Next up is a controversial one, but I gotta be honest… ‘03 isn’t my favorite series for a lot of reasons, but I will admit! When this series had fantastic episodes, they were AMAZING. So I gotta give credit when due and give kudos to these wins!

The Shredder Strikes Back Parts One and Two ( Season 1 Episodes 17-18 ) Nothing really tops how good this show was in the first season, and these episodes take the comic storyline of Leo’s beatdown and bring it to life masterfully. For Leo’s segments of part one it’s spent mostly with no dialogue— the animation and music carrying how serious the scene is as Leo has to fight for his life against the Foot and how desperate he becomes as he grows weaker and weaker. The second episode is non-stop action as the rest of the turtles, Splinter, April and Casey have to fend off the Foot and Shredder as they fight for their lives in the antique shop. This is one of Michael Sinterniklass’s BEST performances as Leo in these episodes. The stakes are higher than ever before, the animation is gorgeous, and everyone gives it their all for this epic mid-season finale.

Same As It Never Was ( Season 3 Ep. 21 ) This is the episode I would tell people to watch if they think TMNT is just kiddie trash.

Bad Blood ( Season 6 Ep. 12 ) Probably the Fast Forward concept I wish got expanded on instead of giving it two standalone stories and dropping it entirely. It’s a cool idea that I wish got touched upon more often because, yeah, what would evil clones of the turtles look like? What kind of abilities could they have? There’s infinite possibilities! I could live without the new catchphrase ‘It's Ninja Time’ though. While Fast Forward is flawed, this episode was the one I thoroughly liked!

Insane in the Membrane ( Season 4 Ep. 19 ) The infamously banned episode, and all I have to say about it is two words. Holy. Shit.

The Real World Part One ( Season 3 Ep. 22 ) Any team-up with Usagi Yojimbo is a good one, and this was such a delight! It’s loosely based on one of the Usagi stories from the comics, and I loved how badass they made both Usagi and Tomoe! Leo and Usagi have great chemistry as always, and you can tell they have a strong bond with one another as warriors! Or boyfriends depending on how you interpret their relationship but honestly I totally see where everyone is coming from, THESE TWO ARE ADORABLE DORKS.

Next up is my all-time favorite incarnation of the franchise, 2012!! I have A LOT to say about so many of the episodes but alas, I could only choose five to discuss. One day… one day I shall make a thesis about it 🤣 for now however, here’s my top five faves from this series!

The Yojimbo Trilogy ( Season 5 Episodes 7-9 ) Oh. My. God. YES. The love letter to Stan Sakai’s comics, the beautiful homage to vintage Japanese cinema with the camera framework and action, and OH MY LORD, THE COLORS AND SHADING DURING USAGI’S FIGHT WITH JAY IN THE FINALE???? THAT’S CINEMA! Excellent voice acting by Yuki Matsuzaki, which was his first English speaking role and personally chosen by Sakai himself to play the ronin rabbit! My only complaint is that I wish we’d gotten more of the Yojimbo characters in here, like Tomoe or Gen! Otherwise I can watch all three of these episodes on repeat and always get excited!

Lone Rat and Cubs ( Season 5 Ep. 10 ) The final appearance of Splinter, the episode Kevin Eastman wrote, and a beautiful send-off to this character. It’s a flashback, yes, but this is the episode we get to see Yoshi adapting to his mutation as a rat, raising his boys, trying to be a good father and struggling to survive from the Krang. It’s a part of his life we rarely ever get to see, and this episode shows us why he was a great father. Basically it's a try not to cry challenge. For me, THIS episode is the series finale because it’s just a perfect conclusion to Splinter and his story.

Requiem/Owari ( Season 4 Episodes 25-26 ) The finale to the overall series, the finale to this overarching story, and it’s just as heartbreaking and suspenseful as you’d expect. The writers don't hold back their punches, and it shows that the gloves have finally come off. The characters we’ve come to love and care for are at their breaking point, the Shredder is the most threatening he’s ever been, and the team decides it’s time to put the monster down for good. Whoever thinks this show was just ‘kiddie trash’ needs to be sat down and shown this two-parter, because GODDAMN. Ciro Nieli treated this with so much care and respect. I cannot help but adore the team who put this together because the stakes have been raised to an all-time high, and the final showdown between Shredder and the turtles here is hair-raising, all reaching its climax when Leonardo finishes Oroku Saki by beheading him. It’s powerful, it’s devastating, and it’s a damn excellent showcase of why this series was the best iteration of the franchise to date.

The Fourfold Trap ( Season 3 Ep. 23 ) Yet another homage to a horror movie, only this time it’s a lot more intense. Based on Saw, this episode makes you sit on the edge of your seat as you can only hope that the turtles will escape the traps Karai’s put them in. It’s all nerve wracking to watch on a first viewing experience, POOR DONNIE OH MY GOD, CAN WE STOP PUTTING THIS BOY IN ELECTROCUTION DEVICES???? He still manages to create a plan to save his brothers even while he’s being electrocuted! Also, SPLINTER IS BEST RAT DAD. This episode will teach you the meaning of ‘angsty dread’ and ‘overwhelming anxiety.’

Trans-Dimensional Turtles ( Season 4 Ep. 10 ) THE TURTLES FOREVER WE DESERVED BUT WE DIDN'T GET UNTIL CIRO NIELI HOOKED US UP WITH THE BEST CROSSOVER WE’VE EVER BEEN BLESSED WITH! The OG turtles are all so much fun to see again both in and out of 2D, Gilbert Godfried is always a delight, the 2012 turtles in traditional 2D animation is awesome, and ALL THE OG VOICE ACTORS ARE HERE AND CLEARLY HAVING THE TIMES OF THEIR LIVES. THE ROB PAULSEN JOKE IS LITERALLY A BLESSING XD I only wish it had been longer!

Honorable Mentions are Slash and Destroy, Pizza-Face, Within the Woods and Mutant Gangland!

And rounding it off is the last— but certainly not least— series, Rise!! I adore this one!! It’s right behind 2012 as my favorite TMNT series just for the stellar animation!! It’s such a shame that this one had to end so unfairly, but today I’m giving it the love it deserves!! Please note that I have yet to complete season two of ROTTMNT cuz my life has been crazy hectic and I haven’t had the time, but once I do, I’ll go back and update this section if I find more episodes I liked!

Raph’s Ride Along ( Season 2 Ep. 8A ) Ummmmmm the 2012 VA’s playing parody versions of their turtles as yokai criminals??? HELL YEAH. If only they got Astin to play a character though! Then we would’ve had a reverse Turtles Forever reunion! I came out of this episode really loving the Mud Dogz as characters and wanting more, especially Dastardly Danny cuz Rob Paulsen is always a win! Too bad this show got canned before we could really get to know these guys. BUT HEY! That’s what the fandom is for! 🤣

Insane in the Mama Train ( Season 1 Episode 25 ) When I watched this series blind, this episode blew my mind. Seeing something so well done had me screaming in joy with how expertly this episode was crafted. The stellar action choreography, the great comedic elements splashed in to lighten the tense mood, the ANIMATION OH MY LORD. Disney, take notes. And that ending leaves a pit in my stomach every time, like OOOOF, those expressions! That sudden tonal swap!

Mystic Library ( Season 1, Ep. 20A ) Probably my favorite comedy episode! The timing for the jokes in this one specifically is so well done, and every single one had me in tears. I’ve been trying to commit Donnie’s library rap to memory but alas, I’ve been failing.

The Clothes Don’t Make The Turtle ( Season 2 Episode 10B ) THIS. MORE OF THIS PRETTY PLEASE. It's just SO MUCH FUN. I really don’t have anything else to say other than this one is a great treat, also, the reanimated fan cut of this is spectacular!!

Snow Day ( Season 1 Ep. 23B ) This, for me, is the Christmas special of the series even though it’s in no way related to the holiday or has anything to do with it BUT I DON’T CARE LET ME DREAM. I love this one for the adorable interactions and the bonding! Seeing the characters goofing off and having fun, enjoying the weather and spending time together outside of the angst? I CRAVE FLUFF LIKE THIS.

And Tada! There it is! I hope you liked this!! It was tons of fun to compile all my favorite episodes into one project and share my thoughts! This fandom has been nothing but fantastic and I’m proud to be in it!

Disaster Twins Separated AU (now called Our Other Halves)

Gasp! I have done it. I have put enough of my sanity into the concept to feel confident in posting this (it has only been a little over a week and this has already started to have a hold on the creative part of my brain). I am sure someone else has thought of something similar, but this is my take on this kind of au.

Here is some beginning stage concept art for Leo and Donnie:

So there are some modified features, and yes I know, Leo does indeed have eyebrows, the horror, I know. But when I had the idea to do that I couldn't stop laughing to myself. (aaannddd possibly some other things with Leo's design [and something with Donnie's], but that's spoilers).

There may be somethings I further modify, but that'll be later.

I'll work on Raph, Mikey, and April's designs later this month. (I'm a little too busy to work on any other projects atm).

So here are the key features of this separated au under the cut (because this is kind of long):

These ideas are not in order whatsoever. This is just how my brain spouted these out. Also please keep in mind that I just came up with this, and some things may change in little or drastic ways later on. (Some of these things are a little outdated now)

Donatello and Leonardo were the only turtles who were able to be saved by Master Splinter when Draxum's lab exploded.

Poor Splinter, he is so stressed and depressed.

Raphael and Michelangelo were raised by Big Mama. They are both raised to be fighters in the Battle Nexus and to be their Mama's "little gentleman." The relationship between them and Big Mama is... iffy. More on this later.

I think that Leo and Donatello are definitely closer in this au and would have been more attached to April. So not only is there disaster twins but a disaster trio.

Donatello is the oldest twin in this au and also the most protective and defensive sibling, especially when Raph and Mikey come into the picture.

This doesn't mean Leo is not as protective or as caring of Don. He cares a lot about his twin brother, and will defend his brother and his honor to the death, but when [REDACTED] occurred, Don became extremely protective of Leo. Leo does not mind this, as [REDACTED] left a huge impact on him (as it did for Don as well, but he does his best to hide that [Leo knows though]).

While they are caring and everything, they are also twin brothers who love to mess with each other and compete with one another.

Leo is still the face guy and the family medic, but because it was just him and Don, he took more of an interest in his brother's science projects. He has more understanding of different science concepts than Rise! Leo, but it is still nowhere near Donatello's level of understanding. Donnie has a place in his lab for Leo to tinker with random and often silly projects. They also work on new gadgets and gizmos together. The two often infodump to each other and to April.

They are the biggest Jupiter Jim Fans you will ever meet. They may or may not have pulled a few strings and made a few gadgets in JJ's honor.

Raph and Mikey are not willing at first to leave Big Mama to go with Leo and Don, and they have a hard time accepting that they are related to these twins who cause so much chaos whenever they're around. They also distrust most humans (Lou Jitsu being the main exception), so the fact that Leo and Don have a human friend (who is basically a sister to them) does not help. All four brothers start to want the other two sibling to join them after while though... After some events.

Leo and Don want Raph and Mikey to come back to the family, though each struggles with their own intrusive thoughts of how it would change things. The same sort of things start to occur for Raph and Mikey. More on this later.

Donatello is technically the leader. While I think that he would be a great leader to full-time lead both Leo and April, I also believe that Don would co-lead with Leo. They would talk about each other's ideas, discuss, argue, and come up with solutions together. I'll have more on this particular topic later when I contemplate this more. (And binge watch the series again for research.)

When the four brothers are finally reunited, Donnie is still the *technical* leader, and he does his best to understand what his long lost brothers had gone through. (Yes, Don has a harder time than Leo at processing other's complex emotions, but that does not mean he cannot understand them! It just takes a longer time for him to process and find the proper response to assist his bros.)

So that's basically all the stuff I feel I need to share to start this off! Of course this isn't everything and I definitely need to delve deeper into some of my ideas, but some of the things I would like to share would be major spoilers for some of the thing I've changed or added (which is why some things are redacted). I realize I haven't really mentioned Draxum, but he's there... OH BOY IS HE THERE. There is also 2 characters from the show that will be in this au off an on that I want to mention but that's spoilers. :)

There are also some silly little things I have ideas for that I may share later next week, but this is already a lot of information. (Thank you for reading this far.)

One thing I would like to mention is that a lot of the twin aspects of Leo and Don are inspired by a pair of twins in my own family.

I am so excited to dive into this some more! I fully intend on making a comic of this au, it just may take a bit of time to write out a general out line for the comic because of my responsibilities and the need for sleep.

There is one thing I'm not sure on right now, and that's a name for this AU. I have something temporary, but I don't know how I feel about it.

who's leader? age order? main villain(s)? is Splinter Tang Shen because I think that be fun. Do the OG turtles get to make cameos (even if they're no longer turtles)?

Hi!!! Omg thank you for asking!!

Okay so-the AU is in pretty early stages still, so sorry if this is kinda vague! I’ll try answer the best I can at the moment!

Right of the bat, yes! Tang Shen is Splinter!! Or, her own equivalent! Due to her personal morals the girls grew up with way less of a core focus on training than if Hamato Yoshi had raised them, due to Shen believing strongly that they deserved to be children too even if they potentially will need to defend themselves. Because of this, none of them are reaaaallyyyy the leader? Shen believed in raising the girls up to have a equal respect for each other, so there’s more of an emphasis of family than team roles. There’s still an age hierarchy of course, Lita is significantly younger than her older sisters so that does influence things!

To get more into like-backstoryyyyy?

Unlike the other three girls, Venus was a regular turtle! Her and the other four boys were being used for experiments by Cynthia Utrom on her quest to create super soldiers, in fact they were some of her first subjects. Thanks to Tang Shen’s human DNA they were mutated-and Tang Shen herself after having grown attached to the turtles attempted to escape with them. Unfortunately, she only made it out with Venus, and found herself mutated in the process.

April, Jenny and Lita meanwhile were humans! Who got mutated into turtles super young, the girls got exposed to the mutagen one way or another before Tang Shen took them under her wing too. They’re very much a found family, and have all grown to care for each other very much. Although Venus can’t help but long to find out what happened to her brothers…

So, henceforth-Cynthia absolutely plays the part of one of the major villains, willing to use not only animals but humans as test subjects to accomplish her goal. She orders her men to capture orphans and homeless people that no one will care if they go missing to perform her mutation experiments on, hoping to replicate the original success on a wider scale. It’s the girls mission to uncover fully what she is up to, and put a stop to it. Characters like Mondo, Alopex and so on will be linked to Cynthia in some way or another, meanwhile I want to try use characters like Big Mama and Karai as other main antagonists!

27 Dresses (2008)

Perennial bridesmaid Jane always puts the needs of others before her own, making her the go-to gal whenever someone needs help with wedding plans. When they're not in school they're using their magical powers to save sea turtles and rescue those in need. Local bully Zane and popular snob Miriam don't make it easy on the girls to keep their adventures hidden.

That Girl (1969) | 3 Seasons

From the small town of Brewster in upstate New York, Ann Marie has just moved to New York City on her own to pursue an acting career, much to the chagrin of her overprotective parents, Lew and Helen Marie, who see both Ann's chosen career and New York City as no place a young woman should navigate on her own. As Ann goes on one audition after another, she has to decide if any acting role is worth it in the long term of the serious actress she sees herself as being. In living her New York City life, Ann meets Donald Hollinger, a magazine writer, the two who fall for each other. Don is another aspect of New York that Lew in particular doesn't like, as although he knows deep down that Don is a good guy, no man is good enough in Lew's eyes for his daughter.

I have a few questions:

1. Since she's their MISSING sister, how come in the show we only had 4 baby turtles that got mutated on screen??

2. Since she's the same specie as Leo, that means she's most likely she's his biological sister by blood, unlike the others who are from species of turtles, so would that give her and Leo a special bond?

3. Will she have an emo stage like Leo from tmnt 2k3??

4. I feel like it was a BIG wasted opportunity they didn't reveal her identity in the show, so does anyone have an idea if Rise will ever continue 🤔

1) She was likely mutated later than her brothers, so while she'd older in age, she hasn't been a mutant as long.

Though you could also say she was mutated before the others, an experiment herself, something Draxum used to see if his ooze works before working on the others. Perhaps he saw no use for her and gave her to big mama, where she'd be trained as a body guard, loathing her creator and those around her. Maybe her mutation did something more than change her form.

Or maybe I'm just pulling this outta my ass. Idk sounds pretty dope tho so maybe

What would it be like, in your AU, if Donatello had grown up with Draxum from the start like in other Separated AUs?

Not really different from the story Draxum told him, to be honest.

I mean, he wouldn't have been Galois; Donnie chose that name and Draxum probably hates the French. He would have named little experiment B4-27 after some great Yokai hero, or maybe something from mythology. (oh, Draxum's Norse, so maybe he'd have named the turtles after Asatru gods? Raph would have been Odin and Loki would be hilarious for Leo. Draxum would probably be sad about not having any daughters to name Freyja or call his shieldmaidens) Erm. But anyway.

There were reasons Draxum crafted the story he did-well, for one, there were very few people who could refute the story, and by telling him that he grew up isolated from all but a few people would keep Galois from wondering why no one seemed to remember him. But it was also exactly what Draxum would have done. He would have kept Gale's existence a secret, attended to all his medical needs and homeschooling him all by himself, because he wasn't lying about the reasons for sequestering him away. Other scientists and weirdos would want to kidnap him and poke at his DNA. He'd have Splinter to think about in this scenario as well, because Lou would definitely try to kidnap his son back if he knew Draxum still had him. His creation was also very illegal-Draxum could do a lot of bribing and threatening and throwing money around to make the problem go away, but he wasn't 100% sure he'd get away with that and wasn't willing to risk his last son getting taken away. Plus, he's not fooling anyone, the government knows exactly what Galois is. Abducting a homicidal teenager who's been trained in self-defense, who's usually seen by his father's side or accompanied by an equally murdery adult, that's one thing. Disappearing a six-year-old while he's wandered away from the one adult overseeing twenty children during recess, that's much easier. Draxum wouldn't have revealed his existence until this stage, when he's about ready to put his plans into motion.

And I'm...unsure of when that stage would have actually fallen, whether it would be sooner or later than canon. Taking care of Galois might have lit a fire under that drive, compelling him to eliminate the human threat once and for all before it could harm his son, before he knew what his father was really doing. So Galois could be a child and a teenager and have the life he deserved. The fear of Lou Jitsu coming back to steal his son might have also stoked those flames and further increased his animosity towards humans.

But on the other hand, it would have given him something to focus on. I've mentioned this in regards to Bella and Pax, but Draxum didn't immediately start spiraling after his sister's death. The seeds were planted, along with all the other unnecessary deaths in his life, but he didn't start on this genocide shit for a solid decade because he was busy taking care of his niece and nephew. It gave him something to focus on, something to put himself into, and even though he was angry for what humans did to them, there were still moments of joy. After Pax moved out, after Lou Jitsu smashed his plans and made off with his turtles-he had none of that. Just him and his big house, surrounded by dark thoughts and painful memories, and nothing to keep him from lingering on them.

Taking care Galois would have lifted much of that. He still would have been bitter about Lou taking the other three, angry and scared of everyone who would take the only good thing left in his life away from him-but he'd have a child to raise. He wouldn't have had much energy for evil plotting when he's so tired he's accidentally mixing baby formula into his coffee. Hard to brood when your kid is drawing you the cutest and funniest picture of your shitty gargoyle employees. He still would have genocided the humans, since there was no future where humans and Yokai could coexist without one destroying the other...eventually. He'll get around to it. He's busy recording a video of his kid trying to do ballet.

...I feel like I just did a whole lot of rambling without saying much. I might ramble more tomorrow, it's very late and I have a therapy appointment in the morning.

I’m back! Thank you so much for everyone’s patience! My trip was incredible and I had such a good time! The cold I got once I returned home was less fun, but I’m feeling 100% now and I’m happy to be writing again!

“There are buyers who are interested in the land, and we currently aren’t making enough to not consider the offer.”

“How much do you need?” Keyleth didn’t even think about it before she was shouting out, voice carrying over everyone else’s.

“That is not for you to worry about,” Gilmore smiled softly. “I wanted to be transparent with you all, my little turtle doves. I am not announcing anything to the campers just yet; no deal has actually been made, so for now let us keep this between us, shall we?” He looked around the room, and after he saw most of the staff nod, he smiled again. “I appreciate all of your hard work. Let’s keep it going for the rest of the summer. That’s it for now.”

Keyleth leaned back against her chair, mind both racing and quiet at the same time.

“I can’t believe this,” she said out loud, though more to herself. “We can’t let Gilmore sell the camp.”

“I don’t know,” Kash shrugged. “If he can make some profit from these buyers it may not be a bad deal.”

Keyleth’s brow furrowed hard as she turned to look at Kash. “And lose the camp? There’s no universe where that’s a good deal.”

Kash raised his hands and stood from his seat. “Hey, I like the camp too. But the man’s got to do what the man’s got to do. You ready to go?”

Keyleth shook her head. “You go ahead. I’m going to be a minute.”

Kash hesitated for a moment before he nodded, fixing the drawstring backpack on his back. “See you guys tomorrow.”

“You’re right,” Vax said quietly.

“I am?” Keyleth turned to look at him, leaning back in her chair again to match him.

Vax nodded. “We can’t let Gilmore lose the camp. I’ll talk to him, try to get some more information when he’s not in front of everyone.”

“Then maybe we can figure out how to raise the money. Do a fundraiser of some kind.”

He nodded again, finally looking away from Gilmore to look at her. His determination was clear in the way his brow furrowed low, jaw set tightly. “Why do they want this land? And why now? It’s been in Gilmore’s hands for years. And why isn’t he fighting to keep it?”

Keyleth looked back at their camp director, Gilmore now off stage and consoling Scanlan and some other members of the staff. He looked defeated, but not nearly as devastated as she imagined she would’ve been if her livelihood was about to be taken away from her. “I don’t know.”

And BOOM! Finished a second page of busts! For those unware, these are character busts for characters in my iteration of TMNT, From the Hidden City, which is also a bit of a cross-over with Usagi Yojimbo. In order, from left to right and from up to down, we have:

Bludgeon, one of Big Mama's bodyguard. Despite being blind, he's an excellent fighter, and is remarkably chill for being the bodyguard of the biggest crimeboss in the Hidden City. Might help that his employer can defend herself just fine.

Tigerclaw, an enforcer of the Foot Clan. Birth name Takeshi, he volunteered to be mutated with one of the 'captured' oozequitoes so the Foot could monitor the effects of the mutagen for themselves. He's an old friend of the Shredder, and the instructor and handler of Karai and her group.

Kitsune, a yokai sorceress in the Foot Clan. Recruited during the Battle Nexus, she's actually a spy for Draxum, and was able to weasel into the New York's branch inner council despite her attempts at seducing the Shredder hitting a wall. She and Karai's group don't get along.

Meat Sweats, original name Rupert Swaggart. A celebrity chef with his own show, he had the misfortune of being the first victim of Draxum's new mutagen, which still needed some fine tuning. Driven half-mad by his mutation, some part of him still wishes for his old life back.

Repo Mantis, a gangster who ended up mutated. While extremely pissed off about being mutated, it hasn't stopped him from continuing his usual business as a junker and car thief, including a certain etiquette as a businessman. While not on very good terms with the Turtles due to multiple attempts at stealing their Tank, he doesn't want them dead and has been willing to help on a few occasions.

Hypno-Potamus and Warren Stone, a stage magcian and news anchorman who ended up mutated. Originally teaming up to better fight against the Turtles, the two's relationship has genuinely blossomed into something more... special. While Hypno is more-or-less at peace with his mutation, in part due to it somehow making his magic real, Warren is utterly miserable about it.

Irma Langinstein, one of April's friend and fellow school journal member. She's a nerdy and clumsy girl who's also somewhat boy-crazy. Despite this, she's an excellent editor and often the one who makes sense out of April's more out-there articles.

Sunita Lal, one of April's friend and fellow school journal member. She's a fashionable and artistic girl who's in charge of both photography and the 'gossip' collumn, preferring more down-to-earth matters than April.

Lotus Blossom, one of April's friend and fellow school journal member. A moody girl, she's basically the journal's producer, making sure that her friends stay on track and don't accidentally reveal that some poor kid's parents are having a divorce through getting swept up in their investigations. She also does martial arts competively.

Murakami Gennosuke, Gen for short. A former gangster, he was caught, and is currently serving a sentence of community service by being in the Old Guard. Despite their differences, he and Usagi are friends.

Ame Tomoe, a member of the Old Guard. She's a skilled warrior and a good friend of Usagi, and the two have bonded over having similar gruesome pasts. Her sister, Noriko, is a small-time crimelord in the Hidden City. Her being in the Old Guard might be her way to try and atone for that.

Jei, a malovelent spirit. He's responsible for killing most of Usagi's family. He eventually incarnates again, intent on finishing what he started. He and Draxum have some history together.

A Little More on Mei (Venus) and What She Likes, Dislikes and is like around Others

I didn’t want to post about my ideas for this AU until I got the designs finished. So here’s my design for Mei/Venus

So here’s Mei in her Witch attire, with her tessen and her shell and markings. (I’ll also post a series of attire choices since the other turtles have a series of outfits and I can) this will be the main outfit Mei wears during battles and missions.

Mei’s shoulder and thigh markings are tear shaped as to reference the Yin Yang symbol a bit and as a callback to her previous incarnation and her ties to Chinese culture.

She’s Donnie’s biological twin and is a spiny softshell turtle. Unlike him though, she uses a enchanted cloak to protect her shell.

Venus’s favorite music is Pop and Classical. Her favorite foods are plum, verities of soups and herbal tea. Her favorite animal is rabbits, and even keeps her stage rabbit, Snowball, as a pet. She likes performing magic (real or staged) playing the flute, dressing up and swimming. She doesn’t like Donnie’s criticisms towards her dependence of magic, bullies, and people around her getting hurt or manipulated by darker influences.

She cares about Jennika very much and loves her like a big sister. They depend on each other a lot and she looks up to her with how strong and independent she is ever since leaving Big Mama.

Mei and Lisa are best friends and they do pretty much everything together, from hanging out and eating ice cream, to sneaking into museums and parties. Mei is Lisa’s number 1 supporter and Lisa can always count on her for anything.

Leo was ecstatic to learn that Venus De Magic, the Queen of Quick-Change herself, was none other then his little sister Venus. They get along swimmingly, with Mei showing him tons of stage tricks and Leo being the typical goofy big brother. He can get quiet protective of her and her feelings, much to her amusement and annoyance.

Mei and Raph get along great. Raph secretly always wanted a little sister and absolutely spoils her along with Mikey. This also makes him quiet protective of her, especially towards boys. At times, it amuses her, though other times it annoys her. But regardless, she loves her teddy bear of a big brother.

Mei and Donnie certainly have their differences, especially when it comes to their ways of living, with Donnie relying on tech and Mei relying on magic. Regardless of their differences, they love each other very much and get along great.

Mei and Mikey have both been given the official title “babies of the family” branch and they use that to their full advantage, often teaming up to either bug or support their family (maybe both). They love each other very much and play all sorts of games together.

Mei and Splinter get along well enough, with Mei excepting him as a father figure, though Chung will always be dad to her. Splinter is forever grateful that Mei has given him a chance to be her dad and she supports his efforts to bond with Jennika.

Mei finds April awesome and a good influence on the brothers, especially Donnie. Mei, April and the other girls hang out a lot and try to organize a lot of girls’ nights, so as to get away from the standard crazy that is the Hamato Boys.

Mei likes Cassie and admires how far she’s come in leaving the Foot Clan and trying to rebuild herself. She loves her energy (even if it’s rather violent) and supports her ambitions: even the one that includes getting a date from her sister [;)]

Mei hears a lot about Casey Jones and wishes she got to met the man from the future. She hopes he’s doing well for himself in the non-apocalyptic world and that she’ll get to meet him.

Mei has mixed feelings about Draxum, given their history, but she remains civil with him and they tend to get along, even bonding over their love of their Yokai heritage and mystics.

The ferry I ended up having to catch took me to Turku which was a town on the west coast instead of Helsinki. I intended on catching the train all the way down to Helsinki but found that Tampere was a stop along the way. The ferry was actually a cruise ship with 7 floors including rooms, restaurants, bars, a nightclub and a performance stage. It was insane seeing as I'm used to the Rottnest ferry. I didn't do too much on the 11 hour journey just walked around and took a nap.

I got off in Turku and walked to the train station just in time for the 8pm train. It was only an hour or so to Tampere so it was a quick but beautiful trip. My cousin met me at the station and walked me to my hostel. Tampere was small but beautiful from what I saw that night so I was excited to see the rest of it.

I slept in late but Cam had school so I walked around for a while looking at shops then went to check out his apartment.

They're very central in a cute place where the bedroom and living area was one space with a little kitchen. We went for a drink at a rooftop bar that you could see the whole town from. The whole place was surrounded by a big lake a beautiful green Forrest.

From there we got changed to go to the sauna and picked up Ida's sister.

Finland is very big for their saunas, going from 100degrees to 16degree swim in the lake.

The sauna was built on the end of the road that lead to the mouth of the river. It was a small building holding two saunas and two change rooms. The entrance to the lake had a dive board or ramp. I haven't done a sauna that warm before but I really enjoyed the experience. There were a lot of people there because it was a Friday afternoon.

We dropped the car back at cam and Ida's to walk across the city to dinner. It was a lovely restaurant and I had Korean chicken and vegan boa buns which were DELICIOUS.

We had a cocktail at the new wine bar cam wanted to try and had a chat.

The next day cam and I met at his favorite bakery and had a yummy coffee and pastry for breakfast. He doesn't really like theme parks but there was a bit one in Tampere so agreed to go with me. We took home a loaf of bread and walked across to the theme park.

Cam and I went on the hype as our first ride which was fast but so much fun. Sent cam for a bit of a spin and he didn't feel very well so we say for a while whilst we waited for Umi to come. We went to the x which made me feel a bit sick but was fun. The ticket was unlimited rides so we went to as many as possible. There were water rides, motorbike rides, the rapids, the superman, the chair, the merry-go-round but also an aquarium and entrance to the tallest tower in Tampere. There were some funky creatures in the aquarium including turtles!! Just the little ones but they were still cool.

The tower showed a different view than the bar the night before. We could see into the next town.

Truth - marinette breaks up with luka because she can’t tell him ladybug is running her ragged, causing him to be akumatized

Lies - adrien breaks up with kagami because he keeps lying to her about his whereabouts and commitment to their relationship

Gang of Secrets - marinette attempts to cut off her friendships with everyone because she’s depressed, causing everyone to be akumatized. at the end of the episode marinette can’t keep her secret anymore and tells alya

Mr. Pigeon 72 - marinette devises a way to stop repeat akumatizations after xavier is akumatized for the 72nd time. the result is a little charm via ladybug’s creation abilities which repells akumas.

Furious Fu - su han, a resurrected guardian, attempts to reclaim the miracle box from marinette for a myriad of reasons, and bullies old man fu who eventally gets akumatized. by the end, su han allows marinette to be ladybug and the guardian at the same time.

Sole Crusher - zoe, chloe’s half sister, moves to paris to be with her family, and gets akumatized after failing to meet her family’s expectations.

Queen Banana - literally immediately after her introduction, zoe is temporarily given the bee miraculous to help take down an akumatized chloe after another temper tantrum. chloe refuses the charm but zoe gets her to take it via some subtle manipulation.

Mega Leech - mylene and ivan are environmentalists! good for them, good for them you should be too. andre tries to launch trash into space, and gets akumatized for being called out, and mylene is given the mouse miraculous to save the day with a little army.

Guiltrip - juleka angsts over rose’s chronic illness in a dramatic gay way. anyways, rose gets to use the pig miraculous.

Crocoduel - anarka and jagged get into a fight at juleka and luka’s birthday party, getting akumatize, which prompts ladybug to give juleka the tiger miraculous.

Optigami - hawk moth sorry shadow moth has been spying on temporary miraculous holders via an origami butterfly. he traps all of them in a building so he can trap ladybug when she tries to give them one. doesn’t work out, ladybee fusion happens, with a little help from rena rouge. plot twist! the nino that alya given the turtle miraculous to this episode, when specifically instructed by ladybug not to, was a sentimonster. whoops

Sentibubbler - hawk moth stages a hostage situation in alya’s home. pegabug saves the day. chat noir almost ruins the plan because he’s annoyed at being left out.

Rocketear - nino thinks alya is cheating on him with chat noir, so he goes to beat the shit out of him. really she was just struggling with keeping secret that she was still acting as rena rouge unbeknownst to the public, which ladybug instructed her to do, but tells him at the end anyways. whoops, strike two.

Wishmaker - adrien and marinette are kinda confused with what they wanna do in life and get a pep talk from luka. akuma of the day hits ladybug and chat noir making them live their childhood dreams, thus exposing their secret identities. good thing viperion is there to give them a second chance and preserve their secrets! wait except uh....luka Knows now.
