Tumblr media
ASK HERE :)
I would love to know if anyone has any questions for me! It can either be about Raining Hellfire or literally anything else.
I just want to be more immersive with my followers so please feel free to ask away! I'll respond to every question and I don't mind if they're anonymous or not x
[I can't take many requests atm since I'm trying to focus on my uni work but if you had any ideas, I'll be sure to write them down somewhere and hopefully write them when I can]

˗ˏˋ ★ ˎˊ˗ Series
Predator & Prey (Completed) - You were suddenly teleported to a snowy world while discovering a cave. After norrowingly escaping a terrible fate, you're practically forced to deal with a winged beast you saved. It's awkward and kinda mean, but it does more good than harm.
Lost & Found (Ongoing) - You hated the little town you lived in, you hated your job, hated how everyone knew everyone, you hated how your mother didn't care about how much you hated it. You needed to do something, to get out of this repetitive life. You've decided to apply to be a maid in the castle for the Viscount and his family. With this new life, you hope to change your pace. Yet, one of the sons can't help but give you an eerie sense of familiarity. (Second Part to Predator & Prey)
The Insides (Completed) - You have it all: a good job, a nice apartment, a doting boyfriend who loves you so much. It seems all swell, until he starts behaving strangely. Unfortunate for him, he's not the only person that fell head-over-heels for you. Well...not the only entity at least.
All in White (Ongoing) - Your father, that major of Neuva York, was hosting a party congratulating their safe environment by the hands of Spider-Man. You did not care for parties, only there for the alcohol and occasional good conversations. You managed to catch the eye of Spider-Man, and boy did he want a taste.
˗ˏˋ ★ ˎˊ˗ I do have requests/hard hours open! Here are some rules...
I will not write about underage characters, real or fake (unless they're adults playing as younger people ex: Eddie Munson, Billy Hargrove, etc.)
No shit! Like literal shit, no scat play (pee is fine, but no piss drinking)
Incest, including in laws (brothers bff/dad's co-worker is fine)
No age play (age gaps are fine)
No virgin reader (this might change, but not allowed as of now)

At Last-RalphxF!Reader (CH 5/End)
Tumblr media
Ok so tell me why this chapter took me so long to write??? Lol here it is, the long awaited wedding night smut chapter!!! This chapter does indeed conclude the main At Last storyline. I say main storyline because I may end up writing one shots about these two down the road, just little things about daily life. But that may be a ways down the road as I have to focus on making inventory for a vendor market as well as a con I'm hoping to be a vendor at (tis the woes of a small shop owner). But I just wanted to give a big thank you to everyone who has enjoyed my story, reblogging it, commented such sweet words, or even just hearted it. This was the first story I wrote after a whole year of not writing and honestly I wasn't sure how it was gonna go. This story and everyone's reactions made me remember why I love writing so much though, and I can't thank you enough ❤️❤️...ok I'll stop rambling now lol TO THE SMUT!!
Summary: It's yours and Ralph's wedding night, and though a bit shy, Ralph is more than ready for the two of you to consummate your marriage.

The Rut (Marko x Fem!Reader)
It is finally here! The next installment of the rut series!! I'm glad everyone is liking this so far. As I said in the Paul one, every boy will be getting his own part. (Also since I've been asked, this isn't really a poly relationship series, this is a "only (insert boy) likes reader" kinda thing).
So this series was inspired by @auntvamp 's headcannons about the boys in rut, and when I say that I couldn't help but write this after reading those lol. I'd highly suggest reading that first. I also got inspired by Marko NSFW headcanons
Lastly I'd like to thank @santacarlatourism for their headcanons of each boy's scent on my post

So I haven't written in over a year lol, and this was SUPPOSE to be a one-shot, but I started writing and got in the groove again sooooo...it became a chapter story! Lol. Hoping to get a chapter out every Friday til the story is finished that way I can balance it with running my Etsy shop and all 😊.
Summery: After you and your friends are transported back to the 1920's by a time machine elevator, you embark on an adventure, and that adventure leads to a beautiful man.
Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, Part 5
Pairing: Ralph x Reader
Words: 3,328

The Rut (Dwayne x Fem!Reader)
It is finally here! I was actually planning on writing Dwayne's chapter last but so many people wanted his chapter that I couldn't see putting it off lol, As I said before every boy will be getting his own part.
I'd also like to thank her from the bottom of my heart for the help, I really wasn't sure how to write Dwayne, like all everyone says is that he is the strong silent type, but I was unsure of how he would be with a mate and she took time out of her day to message me and give me ideas for this chapter 😭 Thank you again for that!❤️
Lastly I'd like to thank @santacarlatourism for their headcanons of each boy's scent on my post

you should see me in a crown | pt. 1
The first part of the series is here, and I’m honestly super excited! I’ve had a lot of fun planning and writing. I’m hoping to update pretty regularly, and I’d love to hear what you guys think. It’s gonna be a slow burn and a longer series. I have about fifteen chapters planned so far, but it might wind up being longer than that depending on how it goes. The first few chapters are written and ready for proofreading, so it shouldn’t be too long a wait. Feel free to comment or message your thoughts or if you want to be added to the tag list!
Warnings: Cursing, mentions of a bad past relationship, but I don’t think much else aside from that
Words: 2,664
intro | pt. 1
Tumblr media
The first time Billy Hargrove approached you was practically straight out of a scene from a movie. If there had been a camera on you on that fateful October day, it would’ve been teen heartthrob gold.
The bell for lunch had just rung, and your classmates stampeded through the school in true high school fashion. The wafting smell of Friday pizza from the cafeteria down the hall wasn’t exactly mouth-watering, but it was enough to encourage you to get to your own slice as quickly as possible. You knew your girls would have your slice already waiting for you, used to their captain’s pre-lunch ritual. You were eagerly throwing your textbooks into your locker when it hit you.
The smell of cigarettes, hairspray, and men’s aftershave invaded the pleasant smell of lunch, assaulting your senses. The only thought that crossed your mind: here we go again.
You were no stranger to boys (because really, that’s what all these high-schoolers were despite their obvious thoughts otherwise) trying to approach you. Sometimes they were sweet and shy, sometimes they were blunt and upfront, and sometimes they were just obnoxious and crass. Hell, sometimes they were some bizarre combination of the three. Regardless of their approach, they were always met with the same result: denial served with a side of pitying kindness. It wasn’t that they were all pigs or anything. Sometimes guys you genuinely cared about and appreciated were the ones who approached (and they were always the hardest to turn down). You were just tired of the same old drama. Between the girls on your squad who ran to you for everything (like their pseudo mother hen) and your own... experience during your freshman year, you had suffered through more than your fair share of painfully awkward relationship drama. Besides, you had more to worry about. You had a squad to lead, a school to run, and a college resume to build. The times you were approached tended to be few and far between, so it wasn’t a frequent occurrence anyways.
Guys, in general, seemed to be intimidated by you. You’d think a girl who was smart, funny, kind, feisty, and a student leader would be dream girlfriend material, right? Apparently, that only worked for the heroines in teen romcoms. Once upon a time, it used to frustrate you: now, you welcomed the reprieve. Steve was the only one who could really hold his own, and you two had never been more than friends. All the others were too terrified. Those who weren’t scared off by your reputation and dating history usually backed off when they had to talk to you around your squad. You typically had at least one or two of your girls back you up. Besides, it wasn’t like you had a bunch of spare time to waste on guys. This was the only time of the day you could really be found alone. You enjoyed the quiet solace of stopping by your locker during lunch, especially on Fridays when all the other students in Hawkins rushed to get a slice of the weekly pizza. The hallways were typically bare, and people had learned not to mess with you during your locker breaks. Between cheer practice after school, the many social needs of your squad and demands of being captain, and your rigorous course load (because you were getting into college and as far away from Hawkins as possible), you rarely had time to yourself. And you loved it. You really did. But these precious five minutes at your locker during lunch was the only time you were really able to breathe. They were sacred, and everyone knew that.
So who the fuck was stupid enough to interrupt that?
With a dramatic sigh, you stretched your cheeks into what you hoped was some semblance of a smile (even if it was a painfully fake one). You could sense them, whoever they were, on the other side of your locker door. And they didn’t seem to be budging any time soon. You tried to stall for time, mentally counting down the seconds of freedom you had left.
Ten... You grabbed your calculus book and practically chucked it in your locker.
Nine... You shoved your composition book into your backpack.
Eight... You tucked a stray piece of hair behind your ear.
Seven... You prayed this jackass would take the hint.
Six... No such luck.
Five... You searched both your locker and backpack in vain hope of finding anything else to stall.
Four... You figured you’d have maybe a minute of having to endure some painfully awkward conversation as you secured the lock, zipped your bag, and booked it the fuck out of there.
Three... You mentally double-checked that your fake smile was in place.
Two... You sent up one last Hail Mary they’d take the hint.
One... You took a calming breath.
And your time was up.
You had a sneaking suspicion whoever this was had planned it all out.
The hallways were practically empty, with just one or two stragglers making a futile dash for the cafeteria in the hopes there would be some pizza left. Your breath caught in your throat as your eyes met a pair of beautiful, crystal blue irises. Your fake smile dropped for just a moment as you took in sunshine curls, honeyed skin, plush lips, and slightly freckled cheeks. Your eyes traced over the almost gentle features of his face. His sharp cheekbones, lovely nose, and square jaw were practically begging you to cup his face in your hand. And his body... Damn. Nothing delicate there. You knew your fair share of jocks and hunky boys. But none of them compared to this. He wore a faded jean jacket, and he filled out every inch of it. It was clear he was buff, but you’d bet he was cut too. This blond in front of you was... Well, he was beautiful. You had never met a man (because fuck, but that’s what he was) who left you so thoroughly speechless. And then he had to go and ruin it by opening his mouth.
“Like what ya see, sweetheart? Cause I certainly do.” The lazy drawl matched his lax stance as he leaned against the lockers. He was posing for you, you quickly realized. This was a guy who knew exactly what he was working with, and he wasn’t afraid to shamelessly use it. A chill ran down your spine.
Oh, he had definitely planned it.
Too bad he hadn’t planned for you.
You had more than your fair share of experiences with a guy like that. It wasn’t something you were looking to repeat anytime soon. The smile slid back across your face, a mask you had perfected and an armor you had worked all the chinks out of long ago. You watched, almost bemused, as a flicker of annoyance slid across his face. He knows, a voice whispered in the back of your mind. He knows you’re putting walls up. He can see it.
“Just getting to know a face I’ve never seen before.” Most guys would take the perky tone and sweet grin for the superficial flirting it appeared to be. The diversion you intended for it to come across as. You had a feeling this guy was smarter than that. You upped the bubbly factor, wanting to see how it would affect him (and a small part of you hoped it would annoy him). “You must be new to Hawkins. Welcome!” You had to stifle a giggle as he visibly bristled.
“Not that new,” he mumbled as he released the smooth facade for just a moment. He was clearly upset by the idea you hadn’t heard of him yet (which, of course, was not the case. Everyone and their mother had about the hot new guy with a killer car, but he didn’t need to know that). He managed to recover relatively quickly though. His eyes widened a fraction before that smirk snapped back into place. “Been here nearly four days, sweetheart. And in those four days, I’ve heard you’re the girl who runs the show around here.”
“And what makes you think that?” You figured playing innocent was the best way to go here. As helpful as your girls were in getting the gossip, it never hurt to have a little more info. No matter how high up the ladder you climbed, it was nearly impossible to get a real grip on the rumor mill here at Hawkins. Secrets and lies just tended to have a way of getting out, so no one ever quite knew what the truth was. Sometimes, you even second-guessed what you knew about yourself.
“Well, you’re the only cute (h/c)-haired, mini-skirted spitfire I’ve met so far. And I’ve made it a point to look out for the... feistier girls. Y/n, right?” Interesting. So he was going to keep his cards as close to his chest as you were. The suggestive smirk he sent you and the emphasis on the word feisty weren’t lost on you. You could hazard a guess as to what he really meant. So, the new kid had done his research. This should be fun.
“I’m so embarrassed. Here you are, knowing all about me, and I don’t even know who you are. What’s your name?” Of course, you knew exactly what his name was before he even said it.
“Some girls might call me the man-they’ve-been-waiting-for, but you can call me Billy.” The smile on his face would dazzle any crowd, leave any competition judge putty in his hands, and make the girls on your squad melt at his feet. It was clear this guy trying to work you over. But that was why you were the captain: you weren’t so quick to fall.
“Well, it was nice to meet you, Billy. Hope your first week went well.” And with that abrupt dismissal, you were off. In your years of evading hormonal and horny teenage boys, you had perfected the well-timed retreat. Flirt with them and talk just enough to let them think they’d hooked you, then cut it off quick. You had subtly worked the zipper on your backpack closed during the conversation, so all that was left was to fasten the lock and run. You were only a few steps away before Billy recovered. Impressive. Usually, you could get halfway down the hall as they were left reeling from your attention.
“Y’know, my first week has been fine,” he drawled again as he easily fell into step with you. A slight stab of annoyance tore through your chest. You checked your fake smile. “But it’d be even better if you agreed to show me around this weekend. Since I’m new here and all.” You pretended to consider it. You waited just long enough to make it seem like you weren’t going to turn him down before the words had even left his mouth. You were all about giving new kids a chance, but not when they had interrupted your precious alone time and stood between you and your pizza.
“Sorry, but the squad has practice tomorrow. And then the girls and I have team bonding on Sunday, so I’m all booked for the weekend.” You simpered, throwing a flutter or two of your lashes and a mock pout his way for good measure. You thought you had won that little confrontation until you saw a determined gleam in his eyes.
“I take it you aren’t going to Tina’s Halloween party tomorrow night, then?” Damn. The new boy was already connected enough to cinch an invite to a party? It usually took new kids weeks before they broke into the social scene enough to even hear gossip about the last party. Hawkins might’ve been small, but it was a pretty tight-lipped town when it came to outsiders. This guy must’ve known exactly what he was doing if he had already gotten that far in. And, worst of all, he had you trapped.
After all, you couldn’t exactly lie and say you weren’t going. By now, the two of you were close enough to the cafeteria that there were people around. If you lied, said you weren’t going, and then showed up anyway, it would make you look fake. Two-faced. Bitchy. And you had worked so hard to get your reputation to where it was after the disaster that was your first two years in high school. You were depending on your friendly and kind reputation to get you a student body position next year that would look killer on a college application. You couldn’t run the risk of ruining it because of some gossip about being a bitch to the new kid, who hadn’t even been in town for a week. Besides, that familiar tingling of a guilty conscience seemed to whisper. You barely know the guy. At least give him a chance.
“Silly me,” you forced yourself to giggle for fear of biting the words out instead. You didn’t want to judge him preemptively, but there was something about him that set alarm bells off. “I must’ve forgotten. I can’t believe it’s Halloween already.”
“Honest mistake. I tend to have an effect on girls that leaves them forgetting a lot of things...” He moved to step closer into you, and that was when it hit you. You knew exactly who Billy reminded you of. Eric. Your douchebag of an ex-boyfriend who had left you scarred against relationships. As the blond in front of you leaned over you, you were struck with the flash of an image of green eyes instead of blue. You refused to give ground and carefully tried to breathe. You tried to remind yourself this wasn’t him. Hell, Billy probably didn’t even know the guy existed. He didn’t know what he was doing. He shouldn’t be written off because he reminded you of a monster. But it did send a worrying thought through your mind. You hoped you were wrong, but there was a nagging sense that you couldn’t be too careful. You needed to get away from him, now.
You sent him another falsely sweet smile and quickly scanned the cafeteria over his shoulder. Your eyes desperately searched as you forced yourself to back up a step, feigning butterflies when you were really just trying to buy yourself time. It was Pizza Friday, so he had to be somewhere nearby. He loved Pizza Friday. Nancy told you how he always ditched after class to make sure he got some. Surely he hadn’t wolfed it down that quickly... There. Your eyes landed on the luscious head of hair you had been searching for, and you practically leaped at your chance to escape. You let your eyes flit back to Billy, trying to send him a flirty smile whilst internally panicking.
“Sadly for you, I don’t forget things easily.” You let the words hang in the air, unsure if you meant them as a threat or a promise. If only he knew how true they were. “Guess you just got lucky this time.”
“Oh sweetheart, luck had nothing to do with it.” He stepped in closer again. Your heart had practically crawled up into your throat. You snapped your eyes back to Steve, praying either he or Nancy would somehow sense your distress.
“Y/n!” Steve called, waving you over after catching your eye. Finally, it seemed like someone was up there listening.
“Well, looks like we’ll have to see if lightning strikes twice. Catch you later.” You sidestepped the blond’s advance and, without giving him a chance to respond, made a bee-line for the couple’s table. You had to warn him. You couldn’t be sure, but you had a feeling you knew what the research, the quick invasion of the social scene, and his singling you out immediately meant.
Billy Hargrove was gunning to be king.
And he wouldn’t be the first guy to try and use you to get there.

Dollhouse
So this fic may be confusing to follow, my brain is always all over the place and my ideas don’t always make sense, but I’m going to try my best to explain. So basically, you’re Max’s older sister. Billy is still alive, and is a complete ass in this story. You don’t live in the trailer park. Your family is kind of…snooty? Well, your parents are, when they’re actually in town. You also have a little sister, Sarah, who is four. In this story, Chrissy doesn’t exist. You’re Jason’s girlfriend, but you’re not Chrissy, if that makes sense. I’m not sure if I’m going to incorporate any of the season 4 drama into this story, or if this is more like an AU where none of that happens. I hope that doesn’t confuse anyone, let me know if I need to clarify more or if you have any questions!  Also, you’re 18 and Eddie is 20 in this story.
Characters: Reader as Y/N Mayfield, Max Mayfield, Eddie Munson, Jason Carver, OC Sarah Mayfield. (There will be more added to this list.)
Pairings: ReaderxJason/ ReaderxEddie
Warnings: Drug use, physical and verbal abuse. (More will be added)
Word Count: 2k
Part 2 3 4 5 6 7
You never meant to fall for Eddie Munson. You never saw it coming. Honestly, no one did. It became a Hawkins High scandal, especially when you two got caught doing what you were doing in the woods…you know what, let’s start at the beginning.
“As long as you’re into band, or science, or parties.”
You turn to see Eddie Munson standing on a cafeteria table, yelling loudly. He points to where you and the other athletes are sitting.
“Or a game where you toss BALLS INTO LAUNDRY BASKETS!”
Your boyfriend shoots to his feet. “You want something, freak?”
Eddie grins wickedly and makes a guttural noise, sticking out his tongue and making devil horns behind his ears. You fight the urge to laugh.
Jason balls up his fists.
Damn it. Not today.
You stand as well, sliding an arm around his waist. “Jason, baby, don’t you know you’re not supposed to feed the animals?” You tease, kissing his cheek.
His jaw twitches but his hands relax. “I can’t stand that freak.” He mutters.
“Come on, finish your sandwich before we have to get to class. Don’t waste your time with that mess.” You tug him back to the table. He sits back down and resumes his conversation with his teammates, seemingly calm for now.
You pick at your food, barely listening to what your friends are talking about. The party last weekend, the team they’re playing tonight, none of it strikes you as interesting. You just smile and nod when you’re supposed to.
No one notices that your head is another place, or if they do, no one cares enough to mention it. Jason doesn’t even pick up on it.
You’re pulled from your thoughts when you feel someone staring at you. You glance around at your friends, but none of them are looking your way.
You can tell someone is watching you. You look from table to table, your gaze coming to a stop at the “freaks” section.
Eddie Munson is staring at you. He almost looks…concerned?
Can he tell I’m not myself? Can he sense it somehow?
He raises an eyebrow and you look away from him, but find your eyes drifting back towards his table.
He’s not bad-looking, you know. He’s got that whole grungy thing going on, but his hair is clean and his smile is…he’s smiling at me.
The corners of your lips tug upward and you find yourself smiling back at him. He winks, and you feel your cheeks flush.
“Babe? You okay?” Jason slings an arm around your shoulders.
“Huh? Yeah, I’m fine. Just tired. I was up late practicing the routine for tonight.”
He kisses your temple. “You’re gonna be amazing. You always are.”
You nod and peck his lips. “I’m gonna run to the lady’s room before class, okay? Save me a seat.”
You dump your food into the trash and set your tray on the counter, heading for the hall. You can’t resist looking back over your shoulder. Eddie is still watching you, his eyes meeting yours once more. He glances down and smiles to himself, then looks back up at you and winks again.
To your surprise and his too, you wink back and even wiggle your fingers in a friendly wave before leaving the room.
__________
You stay late after school to go over the routine with your cheer mates a few more times before heading home. You’re barely in the door before your step-brother grabs your arm and pushes you into the wall.
“You’re fucking late.”
“I told you I had practice. The game is tonight.” You wince but don’t dare try to pull out of his grasp.
“And I told you that I wasn’t going to watch the kid all night. The little bitch got into my stash.”
Oh my God, no.
“Is she okay? Where is she?” You try to push past him. “Billy, where the fuck is she?”
“Watch your mouth when you speak to me. She’s asleep.”
“Did she put anything in her mouth? Did she take something? Let me go check on her, please.”
“She didn’t. She spilled my weed everywhere. A whole half ounce on the goddamn carpet.”
“She’s just a kid, she didn’t mean to.” You will yourself not to cry out as he squeezes your arm tighter.
“I don’t give two fucks, Y/N. She’s your responsibility. Her mistakes are your mistakes. That means-” He jerks you toward him and you stumble. “That means you owe me. And I want an entire ounce to make up for my troubles.”
“I have no idea where to get drugs, Billy.”
That’s not entirely true. You had friends that had bought weed off Eddie. You never joined in or tagged along when they made their transactions, but you knew from word-of-mouth that he had a steady supply.
“I’m sure you’ll come up with something. I want it and I want it tonight.”
“The game is tonight, Billy. The championship game. I can’t miss it.”
“Like I said, you’ll figure it out.” He finally releases his grip on your arm. “Take the brat with you. And when Max gets home, she can go too. I need some peace and quiet.”
You nod and he saunters down the hall, slamming his bedroom door. You hurriedly peek into your sister’s room. She’s curled up in the middle of the bed, sucking her thumb.
I bet he yelled at her when she spilled his weed. Fucking asshole.
You sit in the kitchen and try to study, waiting for Max to come home. A half hour later, she comes barging through the front door.
“Shh. Billy is trying to sleep.”
“It’s five in the afternoon.” She rolls her eyes.
“You and Sarah are coming to the game with me tonight, okay? He needs a break.”
“From sitting on his ass?” She retorts, grabbing orange juice out of the fridge and taking a long swig from the carton.
“Glass, Maxine, please. And please don’t argue.”
She rolls her eyes. “Fine. But I hate basketball.”
You giggle. “You and me both.”
__________
After the game, you’re walking through the parking lot with your friends, Jason and his teammates, and your sisters. You see Eddie’s van sitting at the edge of the lot. He’s standing outside of it, smoking and talking to some of his friends.
This is my chance.
“Jason, can you drop the girls off at home?”
He frowns. “You aren’t coming with?”
“I need to run back inside and grab some stuff from my locker. Don’t worry, I’ll meet you with you at the party.”
“We can wait on you.” Max offers and you give her a pointed look, signaling for her to shut up.
“It’s fine, I’m gonna talk to my friend Erica, too. She cheers for the other team. Sarah is exhausted, she shouldn’t have to wait.”
Almost on cue, Sarah yawns. Bless this child.
Jason kisses you. “You’re not trying to get out of the party, right?”
I wish.
You shake your head. “No, of course not. I’m excited about it.”
He kisses you again and helps your sisters into his car. “Don’t be late.”
“I won’t.” You promise. You turn and act like you’re heading back into the school. Once Jason’s car is out of sight, you double back and make a beeline for Eddie’s van.
He looks bewildered when you approach him, his friends even more so.
“Hi.” is all you come up with.
He snorts. “Uh, you lost?”
“No, I, uh, that is…can we speak privately?”
“Oooh.” one of the boys taunts and you shoot him a death stare.
“Guys, great campaign tonight. We’ll talk tomorrow.” He waves a hand dismissively.
Once they’re out of earshot, you turn back to him.
“Sorry to interrupt your conversation. I just don’t need anyone to hear this.”
He raises an eyebrow. “You good?”
“I need weed.” You blurt.
He stares at you for a minute, then chuckles and leans against the side of his van.
“You didn’t have to clear them out for that. They know I deal, and they know not to say anything.”
“Yeah, well, the less people that know my personal business, the better.”
“I’m just saying, they wouldn’t have said anything.”
“Right. Anyways, how much for an ounce?”
“An ounce? That’s an awful lot of weed. What’s it for?”
“There’s a party tonight.” You lie easily. “‘My turn to buy.”
He shakes his head. “First off, hardly any of your friends smoke. The ones that do have already bought from me this week. Secondly, there’s no way in hell that your boyfriend, Mr. Popular, would let you buy drugs for a party. In fact, if he even sees us talking, my ass is literal grass.”
Fuck, he’s smarter than I thought.
“Does it really matter what I need it for? You’re selling, I’m buying. Do you have to know all the details?”
“Absolutely, I do.” He says solemnly. “You could be a cop.”
Oh, he’s got jokes.
“You’ve known me since middle school, Munson. I’m definitely not a cop.”
“Okay, so maybe you’re a plant. Working for the fuzz.”
“Do you even hear yourself talk? I think the weed has made you paranoid.”
He grins. “Maybe. Still, my conscience is telling me that this is a bad idea.”
“Tell your conscience to mind it’s own fucking business.”
His eyes widen. “Oh wow, she uses foul language. I’m speechless.”
“Look, I’d love to stand around and banter back and forth all night, but unfortunately, I have other plans. So, can you sell to me or not?”
He cocks his head to the side and studies your face for what seems like forever. You’re about to give up and walk away when he sighs. “I don’t have an ounce on me. I can sell you half an ounce tonight, meet you tomorrow with the other half.”
“No, no, I need it all tonight.”
“You’re not going to smoke a half ounce before tomorrow morning, trust me.”
“I don’t do drugs.” You snap, offended. “It’s not for me.”
His eyes narrow. “And I don’t deal to people that are buying for other people. Tell whatever friend of yours you’re trying to score for that they can come to me directly.” He turns to leave.
You grab his arm before you even realize you’ve done it. “Eddie, please. I know you don’t know me and you certainly don’t owe me any favors, but I can’t go home without that ounce. Please.”
He looks down at where your hand is gripping his jacket. You follow his gaze, letting go of him instantly.
“Sorry.” You mumble. “I’m just…I’m desperate.”
His eyes bore into yours. They’re so dark and intense it makes you shiver. It’s like he can see right through you, and he knows something is wrong.
He sighs again. “Look, I really don’t have that much with me. If you absolutely have to have it tonight, you’ll have to ride with me to my place. I have more there.”
“Go to…go to your place? Like, your house?”
“We can’t all afford houses, Y/N. I live in the trailer park.”
Great, now I sound snobby.
“I didn’t mean it like that, I just meant-”
“Relax. I didn’t take offense.”
He opens the passenger door. “So, you in or out?”
You hesitate. You think about Billy waiting at home, and what he’ll do if you don’t come back with what you owe him. He’ll be furious and you’ll have to deal with his screaming, his banging on the walls, his fists-
“I’m in.”

Chapter 9: The Captured
The trees are a blur as the car roars forward. The bewildered and angry faces of Dustin and Steve in the rearview mirror sparks a twinge of guilt. It’s better this way though, they don’t need to be involved. It’s bad enough that Max and Billy are involved. Groaning as the two men in the car pull out behind Billy but in front of Steve. You can feel how startled Steve is and his growing panic as he realizes what’s happening.
Billy glances behind him and growls out, “Friends of yours?”
“Something like that…” you say absentmindedly as you assess the situation behind you.
Realizing that they have far more information than you would like punches you in the gut as town quickly approaches.
You make a decision.
“Pull over.”
The order hangs in the air.
“Are you crazy?!” Max yells, pulling herself forward in the seat, “They’ll catch you!”
“That’s the point,” you say emotionlessly as you regard her.
“No!”
“What is going on here!?” Billy yells angrily beside you.
“They’re going to take her!” Max screams turning to Billy, “You can’t stop! She’s going to give herself up to save us!”
“Fuck that,” Billy says as he revs the engine and makes an abrupt turn to the right. The car behind you all skids but makes the turn at the last minute.
“You need to let me do this,” you say calmly.
“Like Hell I do!” he says rage in his voice.
You huff in annoyance, “They will succeed, if not today, someday.”
“Then it’s not going to be today,” Billy says, taking another abrupt turn trying to throw them off your trail.
“You need to let me do this,” you say matter of factly.
The alleyway you find yourselves in is a dead end. Billy curses and slams his hands on the steering wheel as you get out of the car.
“No!” Max yells as you exit the car, Billy reaching for you a moment too late.
You turn to the men, each of them pointing a gun at you. Steve pulls up behind them a moment later and grabs his bat from the back seat.
“Steve… Don’t…” you murmur tiredly.
“They can’t have you!” Steve yells.
“It’s okay…” you soothe them.
“So you’re coming quietly?” questions one of the men.
“Yes.”
“Good choice,” the other murmurs as he pulls the trigger.
The panic from those around you is palpable as you fall to the floor the dart sticking out of your neck. Steve and Billy make to run towards you before they turn to the men and to rush them.
With the last of your strength your message echoes in their minds, “Don’t forget…”
***
Horror fills them as they watch her fall to the ground. Her eyes roll back into her head and everything goes silent before the rush of rage brings everyone snapping back to reality. Billy pulls back and punches the nearest man as a tranquilizer dart flies towards him. Steve falls next his bat rolling uselessly to the side. Max and Dustin panic and scream as they rush to Steve and Billy.
Max whips around in just enough time to see the two men haul her up and throw her limp body in the back seat of the car. Methodically, as if kidnapping is second nature to these monsters, they move Steve’s car. Dustin is struggling to pull Steve out of the way.
Max cries out in sadness, feeling helpless, as her friend vanished from sight around the bend. She’s left with her unconscious brother and a panicking Dustin.
“What do we do!?” Yells Dustin snapping Max from her shock.
“I don’t know!” She yells back, anger masking her fear.
“We have to do something!” Dustin yells as he paces back and forth. He would periodically rake his fingers through his hair.
“Like what!?” Max screeches back fists flying to her side in rage and frustration.
With no small amount of effort the two preteens drag their older and heavier brother figures into Billy’s car. The two young men are slumped together unceremoniously in the back seat as Max takes the wheel of Billy’s car.
“Are you sure about this?” Dustin asks, hesitation clear in his voice. The memory of the last time Max drove clear in his mind.
“Zoomer. Remember?,” She says pointing at herself in confidence, “Besides, you didn’t die last time,” she says flipping her hair over her shoulder.
“It was dark last time! No one was on the road! It’s the middle of the morning!” Dustin argues crossing his arms.
“Stop being such a baby! It’ll be fine!” She exclaims, frustration seeping into her voice.
With that, she starts up the car and nervously pulls out onto the road. Slowly the preteens make their way to the police station. Not without many near misses and loud honks of other drivers.
The preteens jump from the vehicle and rush into the police station yelling for Hopper as they do so.
“What are you two doing here? Why aren’t you in school?” Hopper asks in bewilderment coming out of his office. The receptionist unable to control the duo before her.
“They took (Name)!” Both Max and Dustin yell in a panic turning towards the confused chief of police.
***
When you wake up you are strapped to a chair with a helmet over your head. Your head is completely silent for the first time in your life, and if you weren’t concerned with figuring a way out of this, you would be enjoying it more. The room is dark save for the single fluorescent light in the very center of the room. There are one-way windows on one side of the room and you can practically feel the eyes of the people on the other side.
A man that you recognize from your childhood enters the room and regards you as a science experiment. He’s wearing a brown suit with a cigarette dangling from his mouth. He hasn’t changed much except for the now graying hair on his balding head.
“Three… How have you been? You are quite the sneaky little thing aren’t you?” he asks conversationally as he sits down across from you at the table.
Your answer is an emotionless gaze. You can feel yourself retreating back into your mind as the man in front of you regards you the same way as so many years ago. Like an experiment, as if you are less than him.
“Where have you been hiding all this time, hmmm? With Melanie Snow perhaps?” he quips pulling the cigarette from his lips. The smell burns your nostrils as he releases a puff of smoke.
You feel your chest constrict as he mentions her name.
“I see you’ve made friends with a Steve Harrington? A Dustin Henderson? A Maxine Mayfield? A William Hargrove?”
“They aren’t my friends, they are annoyances,” you answer monotonously.
“Annoyances?” he sounds almost amused.
“Yes… If it wasn’t for them your lackeys would be dead,” you spit the words at the man fire in your eyes as you regard him coolly.
“Dead, you say? You would do that?” he asks leaning forward on his elbows.
“I’m not a child anymore,” your voice is ice.
“No… I suppose not… However, we will be picking up where we left off. Perhaps we will see the results that we want after all this time.”
With that, he gets up and leaves the room. You keep your mind calm and clear as you access the situation you are in.
It’s not long before a couple of men in white come into the room and push you from the chair. Their handling is far rougher than it should be as you walk down the hallway. You can hear the cries of a few children, but you keep your face void of any emotion. The room they take you to is the same one from your childhood. You see the number three on the wall and suppress a shudder. You are shoved inside, but before the door is shut you turn to the man behind you and lock eyes with him.
“You know… cheating on your wife when she’s pregnant with your child is disgusting.”
The look on his face as the door closes is priceless.
***
“We have to help her!” yells Dustin as he paces the living room floor of (Name)’s house.
“Can Elle find her?” questions Steve his hand in his hair as he sits on the couch.
“Damnit!” curses Billy as he punches the arm of the chair he’s in, “What good is this?”
Steve and Billy had woken up in a panic upon realizing what happened. They had given their statement to Hopper, who had been very displeased that Max had driven to the police station while the boys were unconscious, but that’s a talk for another day. They went to break the news to Melanie which is how they found themselves setting up camp in the Snow living room.
“Hey just calm down man! We’re going to figure something out!” Clenching his teeth against the pain in his head. The tranquilizer making his head pound with the leftover drugs still coursing through him.
“Well, what can this Elle girl do?” he rounds on him anger radiating off of his person.
“More than you!” yells Dustin.
“Hey! Yelling about everything isn’t going to solve this!” yells Max.
“She’s right…” laments Melanie, “She’s going to have to get herself out of this.”
“But Elle can-” Dustin begins.
“She would be putting herself in danger!” Hopper interrupts, “You don’t know how they found her, they could do the same to Elle.”
“We can’t just do nothing!” yells Billy as he stands up from his seat and takes a step towards Hopper.
“I’m not risking Elle being found. That doesn’t mean we aren’t going to do anything.” Hopper holds his stare until Billy backs down.
“Why do you care anyway?” Dustin asks looking over at Billy in confusion.
“Why do I-?” he looks angrily at Dustin, “Because-” He trails off looking unsure of himself for just a moment before his anger covers it up. “None of your business twerp!”
“Will everyone just calm down?” Yells Hopper trying to maintain peace.
“How?! How are we supposed to do that?” Asks Dustin shaking his head in frustration.
“Can someone just do something?!” screeches Melanie before she collapses to the floor crying.
Everyone is silent as they regard her, each of them thinking the same thing...
‘But what can we do?’
***
The next few days you sit quietly in your old room listening. Your powers while not entirely snuffed out are muffled and it isn’t long until the helmet is replaced with another stronger one. You don’t mind as much they think you do as you feign sleep all the while listening.
It’s in sleep that you feel him though. He’s frantic and angry and feels very alone.
You can’t blame yourself for this. You say calmly regarding him.
His eyes widen when he sees you sitting there on his bed.
“You got out?!” he says getting up and coming towards you.
No… I am still there…
“How are you able to…?”
We have a connection Billy… Perhaps it’s our emotions that bind us… We understand hurt better than most…
“You let them take you!” he explodes, “You could have fought them! We could have fought them! Max is… Max is really upset! And damn Harrington! He- Damn it!” He yells angrily picking up a can of hairspray and throwing it against the wall.
It had to happen…
“No, it didn’t! I could have… done something... protected you…” He sits down on the bed defeated, his elbows resting on his knees.
You’re silent for a moment, ‘There are bigger things at play than you understand. They would not stop and I had to think of more than just myself…’
“Bullshit.”
Tell them not to worry…
“Not to worry?!” he yells, “You’ve been captured by some freak show scientists, and no one is supposed to worry?!” he jumps up from the bed and towers over you breathing heavily in his rage.
You regard him silently with the same patience that you always have.
Trust me…
With that, you vanish from his mind. Blinking you are abruptly woken up by the sound of a little metal flap swinging as food is shoved into your cell. You sigh as you glare at the hard bread and porridge that is sitting in the bowl. It’s important that you keep your strength up though it’s imperative to your plan. You pick up the tray and begin to eat.
***
“What do you mean you saw her?” Steve asks, disbelief clear in his voice. He hadn’t been sure what to think when Billy asked to meet him behind the school, but this wasn’t what he expected.
“I told you! I saw her okay?! I don’t get it either!” Billy yells all while trying to keep his voice down. He doesn’t need anyone seeing him and Harrington talking behind the school, too many questions.
“But why did you see her and not me? I’m her friend!” Steve says defensively and maybe a little jealously. Why were you talking to Billy and not him?
“I’m her friend too! You aren’t the only one!”
“Yeah right! What have you ever done for her huh?”
“She-” Billy looks away from Steve. He can’t know…
“She what?” Steve presses, voice going lower in a warning.
“None of your business! Look, I just wanted to know if that makes any sense to you!”
“I mean… she’s special… you know…” Steve says uncertainty clear in his voice.
“Yeah, I know she is…” Billy says remembering the day you casually told him you were going to help him.
“So what do we do?” Steve asks.
“She said to trust her…” Billy says trailing off in thought.
“If she contacts you again see if she knows where she is. We’re going to get her back,” Steve says with finality. “Truce?” he asks holding his hand out to Billy.
Billy regards it for a moment before he nods, “Truce.”
The two young men clasp hands in a firm handshake, both trying to have a tighter grip as they shake on it.
“What are you trying to do? Break my hand?!” Steve yells.
“You’re such a wuss Harrington!” Billy laughs as he pulls back.
“Wuss?! You face a Demogorgon and tell me who the wuss is!”
“What the fuck is a Demogorgon?”
“You have a lot to learn Hargrove. A lot.”
***
You feel yourself growing stronger every day. And among the quiet in your mind, you’ve noticed something else. You can tap into emotions and you spend the next few days wreaking havoc on the workers of the lab. You cause anger outbursts, crying spells, and lust to run rampant. Papers are thrown to the floor in a rage and balled up in fits of uncertainty. You plant lies in their minds with the simplest of sentences. If you didn’t know any better you would say you’re having fun.
“It seems we’ve underestimated you…” Carl Watt says from his position in front of you. He adjusts the button on his ugly suit jacket as he sits down before you.
You just regard him blankly as silence rings throughout the room.
“You have caused quite a few problems for us. Are you having fun?” he asks patiently as if speaking to his six-year-old daughter who made a mess in the kitchen.
You gaze down at the steel table in front of you, eyes unseeing as you creep in his mind.
“If you don’t cooperate there will be consequences.”
Again you are silent at his threat.
“After all we wouldn’t want anything to happen to your friends would we?”
You fight the reaction. The flinch. The twitch. The way your mind screams at the man before you in rage. You give him nothing as you continue to gaze down at the table, the silence stretching long and cold in the sterile room.
“You think you’re fooling anyone? Teenage girls are so easy. You all have the same weakness. Emotions. Boys. Attention. You are not nearly as complex as you believe you are.”
You finally raise your head to look squarely in his eyes, your own void of any emotion as you regard him.
“You think you’re fooling anyone?” You mimic, “Men are so easy. You all have the same weakness. Power. Lust. Control. You are not nearly as complex as you believe you are.”
Carl looks enraged as his fist flies onto the table. Instead of flinching as he wanted, you merely tilt your head to one side and regard him in boredom.
“And you said teenage girls are emotional. You should really have better control than that,” you say calmly.
“Get her out of here,” he says through clenched teeth.
Walking back to your cell you sense it suddenly. A tickle in your mind. You snap your head to the side and hear it plain as day.
They know.
They found it.
The door. The door. The door!
There is panic in the words and in the mind.
He’s fourteen with dark hair and wild green eyes. You remember him vaguely from when you were here before.
Show!
You collapse as the boy enters your mind and you are thrown into a dream.
Billy is in a car accident. He’s pulled into a void. The screams are too much.
You try to pull away from him. To break away from his hold on you.
Bait.
The creature that fills the sky is terrifying. Black and everywhere. It fills your mind and you know in your heart that this isn’t over. That the Upside Down is beating at the door.
Wait…
You gasp as you are thrown back into your head. The haunted green eyes of the boy down the hall filling your vision.
“Get up!” yells the guard.
You are kicked roughly in the side as you double over again. The other reaches down and grabs your hair dragging you up to your feet.
“Not so tough without your powers are you?” spits the guard.
You blink and reorient yourself before you wipe the blood from your nose. You can feel him at the edge of your conscience.
Bad men… bad…
‘Yes…’ you think to him, ‘Bad men…’
Out?
He pauses for a breath as you are thrown back into your cell.
Out out out???
‘Soon.’
The thought seems to soothe him as his mind quiets and he drifts off to sleep. Vaguely, you wonder if he even knows how to talk. His mind is less fragmented than you originally thought though. You can use that to your advantage.
 ***
Billy opens his eyes to see you standing before him.
I need you to be ready.
“For what?” he asks instantly alert and sitting up, “Ready for what?”
The moment I expose them…
“What do you need us to do?”
The old base is where I’m being kept. Elle knows where. I will need a distraction in precisely three days’ time. You need to listen very carefully to my instructions. In a glass bottle mix carbon disulfide, phosphorus, and sulfur with a metal lid. This solution is highly flammable if exposed to air.
“What do you want us to do with that?”
I want to burn this place to the ground.
Notes:
I know! Such a long time coming! Concentrating has been difficult even with inspiration for this story! The next chapter will probably be the final chapter for this story, but never fear! I'll begin work on "I'll Tell You No Lies" the sequel to this story set in S3 of Stranger Things! There may be a little short in between this story and that one because I have such affection for this weird triangle between MC, Billy, and Steve. Please drop a comment to tell me your thoughts!

𝒍𝒊𝒆 𝒕𝒐 𝒎𝒆 - 𝒂 𝒃𝒊𝒍𝒍𝒚 𝒉𝒂𝒓𝒈𝒓𝒐𝒗𝒆 𝒔𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒔
Tumblr media
Hello!!
I’ve had this idea for awhile and decided ‘fuck it’ let’s write it. This is the prologue, so, there’s not much other than the main source and description of what the story is going to be about.  I would post the full story here, however, I just want to make sure people actually like it before I put it out there, haha. Either way - I do hope you like it! If you do, please like, comment and HELL - give me a few suggestions for other stories or what you’d like to see if you find yourself, enjoying this story. Thank you very much for reading :) It means the world to me. Much love, always. - cierra. x
SIDENOTE: This story will contain both angst and smut. it’ll also feature triggering topics (abuse, both emotional and physical) so please be cautious when reading! also, female reader and features she/her pronouns.

                                                PROLOGUE.
~*~ *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~**~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Billy Hargrove. Bringing his name up in a conversation always brought one of two different reactions.  For the girls, it'd cause their cheeks to bleed red and they'd chew on their bottom lip and twirl their stray pieces of hair in between their fingers, murmuring how attractive he was and what they'd do if he were to ask them out. (What they'd do if they were alone with him in the back of his car, too. (Y/N) heard plenty of that scenario. Way too many details, if you were to ask her.  She still cringes when she thinks about Margaret Adams going into full story mode of what she'd do to Billy and what she'd like for Billy to do to her. Margaret was the definition of innocent. Went to church every Sunday, prayed without being told to, always carried a bible with her, would blush when a boy - male teachers, included - glanced in her direction. She was one of those girls. So, when she told (Y/N) what she'd love to do to Billy and vice versa, it was shocking, to say the very least. Of course, the moment the sentence (well.... several sentences) leaves her mouth, Margaret turned her head to the side averting  her gaze, but the sudden rosiness of her cheeks gave her away. (Y/N) could tell her  blush was burning  through her cheeks and her face  was feeling like a hot oven.
She probably felt like a  sinner, saying all those foul words and using such dirty language like that...
Oh, how she curses herself for not being able to stop herself from the sinful thoughts that corrupted her mind.
(Y/N) practically felt the embarrassment clouding over from Margaret and hovering above her  as she attempted to hide her rosy cheeks behind her skinny fingers. (Y/N) had to fight back a laugh, even though it wasn't so funny to poor Margaret who was still blushing a beet-red and trying to pull her long, wavy brown hair to hide her burning cheeks.
(It didn't work out and eventually, with a huff, Margaret gave up and dropped her hands at her sides.) "It's fine," (Y/N) reassured with a gentle smile. "I was just curious as to what people really thought about him. I'm new here too, you know?" She said with a shrug. "And although I may not be as pretty as Hargrove, I do wish I was given some attention he receives." She laughs, thankful Margaret found it funny as well as she had started to giggle.
"I just wanted to know why people are so star struck over him, that's all." She explained. Margaret, this time, shrugged in reply.  "Not sure myself." She admitted, the red to her cheeks only growing deeper as she admits this statement. "He's something else, though, right?" Margaret continued.  "Sure." (Y/N) grinned, though it was far from a real, genuine smile. "Anyways, I've got to get to class but thank you." As she gets up to leave, Margaret is quick with an, "Oh! Hey... don't tell Pastor  Jason about what I said, okay?" "I promise. Your secret is safe with me.") When his name would be brought up with the same sex as he, there was mixed signals.  "I don't see the big deal of Hargrove." one spat.  "He's a cool dude, I guess." another spoke. "If he comes anywhere near Sabrina, I'm going to fight him, no matter where I am or how much trouble I'll get into, that's my girl and I'm not having Billy try and snatch her away." a jealous boy with the name Tyler said.   (In the end, as one comes to find out, Sabrina broke up with Tyler for Billy.)  (Billy and her didn't last.)  (His relationships never do.)  (It was a lose-lose situation for Tyler and Sabrina.)  Billy Hargrove.  From what I've seen myself, and from all the stories that I overhear in the school cafeteria, he's one Hell of a guy. Good and bad. There's two sides to every story, isn't there?   (There's more bad than good, so I've heard.)   This being said, that's what I've come to do — give a story to those curious about Billy Hargrove.  Who is he? Really? Behind that smirk he wears proudly against his lips — what goes on behind closed doors? (Other than the obvious hook up's.)  Does this man actually have a heart towards other people or does he only give a shit about himself? I have no idea. Nobody does.  I guess what I'm trying to say here is.... if nobody's going to ask questions, I might as well try and seek out the answers myself.  Nothing else interesting has happened in Hawkins, Indiana until Billy and his family have moved in.   It's Indiana, for fuck sake's. Not shit is interesting and the only entertaining thing that was going on was Billy and watching him from afar like he was the main character in a movie.  To Billy, more than likely, it was his world and we were all just his side characters, living in it.  Not anymore.  I've acted before. Won a few awards and ribbons for my acting skills, actually. (Not to brag.)  So, I can gladly pretend to love Billy Hargrove - the most  selfish and mysterious man  there  is in Hawkins, Indiana.  What's the worst that could happen?
Again, nothing else interesting happens in this town. Why not play pretend and see what he’s all about?
Yes, I’m well aware too; Curiosity killed the cat. But, satisfaction brought it back.

Here’s a sneak peek of a ST3 story I am currently working on. I really wanted to write a Steve x Reader story so let me know if it’s something you’d want :) And I promise the story is much more interesting than just two idiots in love
Missing 2.8k words
Straight after the Battle Of Starcourt, panic was in the air. The mall was going up in flames, another Hawkins cover-up, as the kids reunited with their families. Everyone was on-edge, especially since they barely escaped with their lives. Their minds were running a hundred miles per hour as they couldn’t focus on one thought. But not Steve. All he could think was that in all the chaos, you were no where to be found.

There were supernatural forces at bay that no one but a small group of people knew about. But that didn’t stop Jason Carver and his basketball teammates from taking matters into their own hands. Eddie stayed hidden, much to the party’s request, until Jason found the ultimate leverage to use against the ‘freak’; you.

A Summer To Remember- Prologue
Summary: Mini Series. Modern AU. You get a summer job working as a resort rep in Magaluf. The resident lifeguard helps make it a summer to remember.
Pairing: Lifeguard! Billy x Fem! Reader
A/N: So, the prologue is just a short explanation of how reader ends up in Magaluf. There’s no Billy in this part, sorry, but he will be in the first proper chapter, I promise! I have decided that I always take my stories too seriously and over-edit, which is why I update SO slowly! So, this one will be an experiment to see if I can just have fun and not stress too much about it being perfect; as a result this has hardly been edited lol, apologies if there’s any mistakes. Updates will hopefully be quicker but chapters will most likely be shorter. I was super excited to start writing this, so here it is! Hope you enjoy! Y/N= Your name and Y/N/N= Your nickname.
SERIES MASTERLIST // MY MASTERLIST

------
Sunlight filters into your bedroom through a gap in the curtains. You glare at the golden rays, thinking about all of the other teens, who are outside enjoying the glorious weather and the freedom of the summer holidays. You roll lazily onto your side in bed and face your alarm clock. It’s already well past midday. You groan, pulling the covers up over your head and will yourself to go back to sleep.
There’s a timid knock on your bedroom door. You reluctantly drag the duvet off your face, frowning in the direction of the sound.
“Y/N, sweetie,” your mum’s voice calls gently through the wood, “Heather’s here to see you.”
You bury your head back under the covers with a groan. As much as you love Heather, you’re still not in the mood to see anyone; much less in the mood to talk about what happened yet.
Your mum opens the door and cautiously sticks her head into the room and you mentally curse yourself for not having relocked it after sneaking out to the bathroom earlier. She sighs when she spots you, curled up in the foetal position under the covers, and steps aside to let Heather in.
“I really think you should talk to her sweetie. It will make you feel better,” she says.
When you don’t respond, she shares a concerned look with Heather, then leaves the two of you, alone.
Heather stands near the door, staring at the lump in the duvet that is you; hot pink sunglasses pushed up into her dark hair.
“You gonna stop hiding and talk to me?” she asks.
“No,” you say childishly, voice muffled by the bed covers.
She huffs loudly and crosses the room.
Wondering what she’s up to, you peer out from your cocoon and watch as she picks her way through the clothes strewn across your bedroom floor. There’s a ‘swoosh’ of material as she draws the curtains back with a flourish and opens the window wide.
You hiss at the sudden invasion of light and duck back under the covers again.
“It smells like something died in here,” Heather says, turning to face you, crossing her arms over her chest. Her foot taps impatiently against the carpet. There’s a beat of silence.
“Come on,” she says suddenly, in a stern voice, “Get up.” She pulls the covers off you, dragging them onto the floor at her feet. You try feebly to hold onto the material, but it slips from your grasp and you can’t find the energy to stop it.
“I leave in a week,” she continues, “and I’ll be damned if I’m gonna let you spend the time we have left together lying in bed sulking! I’m taking you out for some retail therapy.”
You groan.
“Please, Heather, I really don’t feel like it.” You curl up tighter on the bed, hugging your knees to your chest.
“You know what?” she gumbles to herself, moving round to the side of the bed so she’s towering over you. “I’ve been patient enough. It’s been a week!” She says, exasperated.
You say nothing, just offer her a sad little pout, hoping she’ll take pity on you.
“So Nate broke up with you,” she shrugs. You feel a sharp ache in your chest at the mention of his name.
“This is you trying to make me feel better?” you ask, lifting your head off the pillow and narrowing your eyes at her.
“Face it, Y/N,” she says, acting as if she didn’t hear you, and leans back against your chest of drawers, “The guy’s an asshole and you are so much better off without him. Now you need to stop wasting your time pining after him and get on with your life! It’s the summer!” She gestures at the window with one arm.
You follow with your eyes to where she’s pointing, until you’re staring at the sunlight spilling into your bedroom and think again about your fellow ex-classmates, fresh from graduation. You think of Nate, smiling and laughing with his friends and feel defeat tugging at your gut.
When you don’t respond, Heather sighs.
“Ok, tough love’s obviously not working,” she says to herself, pushing away from the dresser, and sits down on the edge of the bed.
“Look,” she says softly, “I know this sucks, trust me, I do. But you can’t stay in here forever.” She reaches over to you and places a hand on your arm, rubbing it gently. “Y/N, please. I need to know that you’re gonna to be ok. I can’t leave you behind in this state.”
She falls silent, looking at the floor.
“I’m fine,” you reply, flatly.
Heather looks at you. Knows you’re lying.
“I could stay here,” she suggests. “I’ll just tell the resort I found another job or something.” That makes you look up at her.
“What? No, you can’t do that,” you say quickly, sitting up. “You’ve been so excited about it, you have to go.”
She smiles gently at you.
“But look at you, Y/N/N, you clearly need me here,” she says softly. Gestures to you and your room.
“Heath, I’ll be fine…” you say hesitantly, glancing down at the state of your floor, “eventually.” She looks at you like she’s not convinced.
“Listen, you’re getting on that plane, even if I have to drag you to the airport myself,” you threaten.
She huffs a laugh at your sudden feistiness.
“At least that would get you out of bed,” she says.
You laugh too. Your throat strains a little in complaint and you realise this is the first time you’ve even so much as cracked a smile in over a week.
A comfortable silence fills the room and you both share a smile.
“Will you please just come out with me?” Heather asks finally. “Even if it’s only for an hour. I think some fresh air will do you good.”
You look at her pretty face as you reluctantly consider her offer. She’s already caught the sun on her forehead; lobster red hairline, clashing with her glasses.
You suppose you could try to hold it together for the next week; to convince her that you’ll be ok whilst she’s gone. You at least owe her that. It’s just typical, that the one summer you don’t have a boyfriend to spend it with, Heather’s got herself a summer job working abroad.
“Ok,” you agree, shuffling towards her on the bed. She pulls you into a hug and you rest your head on her shoulder. “It’s a shame you’re going away for the whole summer,” you say softly.
“I know,” she sighs into your hair. “What are you gonna do whilst I’m gone?”
You lift your head to look at her. There was a bunch of stuff you had planned to do with Nate, which obviously wouldn’t be happening now...
“I dunno,” you sigh. “I could get a summer job, I guess.” You pull away from her.
“You know, I think that’ll be good. Help keep your mind off things,” she says encouragingly. “Hey, you know what?” she asks, slapping your leg gently with her hand, “If you save up enough money, you could come visit me in Magaluf! Spend a long weekend lounging by the pool,” she suggests excitedly.
You smile along, even though you know deep down you only said about getting a summer job to appease Heather.
“Right, come on,” she says, ushering you up off of the mattress. “Go take a shower. You stink.”
---
As reluctant as you were to come out with Heather, you’re really glad she’d convinced you to. You’d felt much more human after your shower, like a little bit of your sadness had been washed away with the dirt. Between that and the beautiful weather, plus some serious retail therapy with your best friend, your mood had been lifted considerably.
You’re sitting outside of the 50’s themed diner, in the food court of the Mall, with Heather; a basket of french fries between you on the table and shopping bags at your feet.
Heather had asked on your behalf about whether there were any jobs available at the diner over the summer, and the woman behind the counter, who was dressed as Marilyn Monroe, had told you to pop back in next week to talk to the owner. You’d just smiled and said thanks, knowing you wouldn’t come back.
Heather animatedly chats away about her new job.
“Well, ‘cos of my experience working at the pool last summer, they want to train me to do lifeguard duties too!” She tells you excitedly. “Apparently there’s already one other rep who does that.” She slurps soda through a straw then plucks up a couple of fries, smearing the ends with ketchup. “And the best part is, if it goes well and I like it, there’s the option for me to go back next year,” she beams at you and pops the fries into her mouth, chewing happily.
“That’s great,” you say, taking a sip of your own soda. It’s nice to see her so excited about it, but you’re still sad that you’ll be alone all summer.
Her phone rings from next to her elbow, on the table. She wipes her hands clean on a napkin and looks at the caller ID.
“Speaking of,” she says, recognising the number. “You alright if I take this?”
“Yeah, of course,” you say, offering her a smile. You look around at the shoppers passing by and help yourself to a couple of fries.
“Hi, Brynn. You alright?” Heather says cheerily.
She listens to the response and her brow furrows slightly.
“Oh no,” she says, concernedly.
You watch her, trying to gauge what’s wrong.
The voice on the other end of the line talks for a bit then Heather’s eyes flick to you. Her face breaks into a grin.
“Actually, yeah, I might know the perfect person,” she says. More murmuring comes from the phone.
“Yeah, I’ll call you back,” Heather replies, “Thanks.”
She hangs up, still smiling.
“Who was that?” you ask her warily.
“That was the Head Rep of the resort I got the job at. Turns out one of the other reps has backed out and they need a replacement. Asked if I had any friends I could recommend...” she lets her sentence trail off meaningfully, practically vibrating with excitement.
“I don’t know, Heather...”
She lets out an exasperated scoff at your obvious reluctance.
“Oh, come on, won’t you at least consider it?” she asks disappointedly. “Listen, you’ll be earning some money, it’s right on the beach and we’ll get to spend the summer together!” she counts off on her fingers.
When she puts it like that, it does sound tempting. But, as much as you’d love to spend the summer with her, you just can’t picture yourself actually going. Magaluf is well-known for its crazy party scene; something you’re not very experienced with. And you know, through Heather, that a big part of the job is accompanying groups of guests on their planned nights out.
“Seriously Heather, me in Magaluf? I’m not much of a party girl, am I?” you ask, raising an eyebrow at her.
“Well, how would you know?” she comes back quickly, “You’ve never been allowed to find out.”
You blink at her in response. That was a dig about Nate. He used to make a fuss if you were invited to parties without him, so you hardly ever went to them. Heather hated that about him. Accused him of not letting you have friends; said he was trying to control you.
“The timing literally couldn’t be any more perfect!” She grabs your arm excitedly and gives it a small shake. “Look, just think about it, please?” she asks with hopeful hazel eyes.
You look away from her.
“Ok. I’ll think about it.”.
Your gaze falls on a young couple, around yours and Heather’s age, walking along together through the food court. The girl is wearing a pretty baby blue dress, which is what drew your eye in the first place. The guy has one arm draped over her shoulders, whispering something into her ear that makes her blush. She giggles, turning to hide her face in his shoulder.
You go to avert your eyes, but then you do a double take, realising who it is and your stomach lurches, threatening to bring up the fries you’d just eaten. It’s as if the rest of the mall has been put on mute, the sounds of the other shoppers drowning out into nothingness, and all you can see is Nate, with his arm around that girl.
You feel like all the air has been punched out of your lungs as you watch them from across the food court.
Heather asks you if you’re ok, but you don’t hear her. She follows your gaze to Nate and her face drops instantly.
“Oh God,” she whispers, mortified.
She hurriedly gathers up your bags and eases you out of your seat by your arm. “Come on, let’s get out of here.”
She guides you past rows of shops to an alcove near some toilets. She eyes you warily, as if she’s expecting you to break into pieces at any moment. A woman with a toddler in her arms casts you a concerned look and Heather smiles quickly at her, she’s ok.
Heather pulls you into the alcove.
“I am so sorry Y/N,” she says, remorse and concern etched on her face. She comes to a stop in front of you and gently places her hands on your upper arms, holding you there.
Your eyes drift to her face, almost dreamily, your expression flat. You feel oddly numb.
“I just wanna go home, ok?”
She doesn’t object.
“Yeah ok,” she says softly.
---
Neither of you says a word on the short walk back to your house.
When you enter through the back door, your mum is sitting at the kitchen table, reading the newspaper. She lowers it to check who’s there then closes it completely when she sees it’s you, Heather trailing cautiously behind.
“How was your little shopping trip?” she asks, beaming at you both.
You walk straight through the kitchen to your bedroom, without saying a word.
Your mum’s smile falters. She looks at Heather for an explanation.
“We saw Nate,” Heather says in a low voice, eyes flicking to the hallway where you’d disappeared, to make sure you can’t hear her. “With another girl.”
Your mum’s brow creases deeply at the news. She gets up and goes over to stand next to Heather, both of them staring down the corridor after you.
“How did she take it?” she asks.
“I don’t really know…” Heather replies, glancing at your mum. “She hasn’t said a word.”
A heavy silence weighs down on them.
“You ok if I go check on her?” Heather asks finally.
Your mum smiles gently at her.
“Of course. Oh, and Heather?” Heather turns back in the doorway to look at her. “Thanks for getting her out,” she says genuinely.
Heather smiles sadly in response. Yeah but look how it turned out, she thinks.
When Heather enters your room a moment later, she finds you sat on your bed, with your back pressed against the headboard and your knees pulled up to your chest. You’re still wearing your sneakers, dirty prints marking the undersheet. Your forehead is resting on your knees, face hidden from view.
Heather places the shopping bags on the floor by the door and comes over to the edge of the bed, hesitating before sitting down.
“Are you ok?” she asks you carefully, reaching out a hand to stroke the back of your head. “No, that’s a stupid question,” she quickly corrects herself, “Of course you’re not ok.”
You make a small squeak, your shoulders quivering just the slightest bit, and Heather suspects you’re crying. She wraps her arms around you as best she can and gives you a big hug.
“I’m so sorry,” she says. Sorry Nate broke your heart, sorry I forced you to go outside when you weren’t ready, sorry he’s a massive asshole… sorry this is happening to you.
“They looked so happy,” you whisper, so quietly that if Heather weren’t hugging you, she wouldn’t have heard it. You give another small tremor.
Heather doesn’t speak, because she knows there’s nothing she can say to you in this moment that will make it hurt any less. Just holds you a little tighter.
“Thanks for being here, Heath,” you say into your knees with a small sniffle.
She strokes your hair lightly in response.
You honestly don’t know how you’re going to survive the summer without her here. The thought of seeing Nate and that girl again seems all the more awful knowing that Heather won’t be around to hold you like this.
You lift your head and Heather pulls back to give you room. You wipe at your tearstained face roughly with your hand, frustrated with yourself for wasting tears on him. Heather rubs your back soothingly with her palm.
You glance around at your room and it’s as if you’re seeing it for the first time; dimly lit and depressing. There’s discarded clothes everywhere, your bed covers still bundled in a sad pile on the floor at the foot of the bed. A couple of photo frames on your dresser, tipped over so that the pictures inside are hidden. You can’t go back to wallowing in here. But you can’t stand the thought of running into them again. Of pretending you’re ok.
And suddenly, braving Magaluf’s nightlife seems like the least of your problems…
“I’ve made up my mind,” you say, your voice surprisingly steady.
Heather looks at you, confused.
“What’s that?”
“I’ve made up my mind,” you repeat. “I’m coming with you.”
“Wait, to Magaluf?” she asks, still unsure what you’re talking about.
You nod.
She beams excitedly for a second then quickly reigns it in.
“Are you sure? Shouldn’t you wait until you’re less upset to make up your mind?”
You turn to face her more head on.
“No, I’m sure about this,” you say resolutely. “I just need to get away from Hawkins for a bit, clear my head.”
She considers you seriously for a moment, her eyes searching your face for any uncertainty.
Seemingly convinced, she lets herself be excited again.
“Oh, this is gonna be so great!” she says, giving you a squeeze.
You laugh at her enthusiasm and you can’t help but feel hopeful that this summer might not suck after all.
When Heather finally lets go of you, you wipe away a few stray tears from your cheeks, vowing to yourself that they will be the last you will ever cry over Nate.

Tumblr media
Y/n walked into the highschool building, inhaling her first breath of air at the Hawkins school. It was all new to her, the rules, people, food, even the air. Now that she thought of it.. it was making her want to ship herself in a box back home and wait there until her parents came back. It was too new and she didn’t like it. Of course, she loved being with her uncle and cousin, but she hardly knew Jane. Was she just supposed to pretend she knew what she liked and get along just fine?
Family aside, y/n was thinking about other things, such as the parties that the other teens held here. Were they different from the one’s back home? She didn’t know yet, but she was excited to find out. She was also excited to get her infamous party rep known in the new place. Y/n smiled, remembering all her drunken moments with b/f/n. The reflective nostalgia taking over her mind before she could realize it.
“Excuse me.” Her comforting thoughts left her head when she bumped into another girl. Y/n’s eyes scanning the person in front of her before responding.
“Oh shit, I’m sorry, I didn’t mean-”
“It’s fine.. I’m Nancy, Nancy Wheeler. You’re the new girl, right? Hopper’s niece?”
“Yeah. I’m Y/n L/n.” Y/n guessed that Nancy knew her uncle Hop, as he didn’t talk to people about his family every day. She was still embarrassed from the collision, but happy that Nancy didn’t make a big deal out of it. Fishing the schedule out of her bag, y/n decided to make good use of her accident turned meeting; “Oh! Do you know where this class is?”
Nancy took the paper from her, looking over it and then nodding. “Mhm, I actually was heading there if you wanna wait for my boyfriend with me so we can head there together?”
Y/n agreed and attempted to make small talk with Nancy before a guy with carefully styled hair came up behind the Wheeler girl, kissing her head and greeting her good morning.
“Is that natural? Your hair?”
The couple stopped what they were doing to look at y/n, who was squinting at his head. “Uh..well kind of? I’m Steve. You visiting or something?” Nancy hit his chest and whispered something into his ear. Whatever she had said made his eyes widen, “I’m sorry, that was rude of me, I knew you were going to be here but I just didn’t know what you would look like.”
“Did you think I’d have a mustache, smell like beer and be a strict cop guy?”
“What? ..Oh that was a Hop joke..okay I get it now...”
Awkward silence was shared between the three, Nancy breaking it by announcing that they were now going to head to class.
. . .
After school got out, Nancy took her on a guide through the building. She also included information she thought was important for y/n to know. By the end of it, Y/n knew almost every student’s name, a few things about each person who’s name she learned, the boys Nancy thought were cute, where to find each class, and the best place to sit at lunch. The girls arrived back in the gym to find Steve and a curly haired blonde bickering.
“Is that-”
“Yup. Hargrove himself, in the flesh. Remember what I said, don’t let your guard down, got it?” Nancy rubbed y/n’s back reassuringly when she didn’t get a response.
The boys stopped conversing when they realized they weren’t alone in the room. Steve went straight to packing up his stuff and Billy sat on the bleachers, observing the new girl. Y/n mimicked his actions, titling her head when he tilted his. He chuckled and smirked his famous panty-dropping half smile, surprised when she didn’t react. Billy didn’t say anything about it of course, let alone let his surprise show.
Steve came back into the gym, tugging on Nancy’s arm to get her to go with him. Nancy rubbed Y/n’s back one more time before telling her it was time to go, the two girls following behind Steve. She didn’t leave the room completely, turning for a quick second. “Bye Hargrove.” She fled before she could see his reaction, smiling and holding in her laughter when she pictured the many possibilities it could be.
. . .
“How was school?” Jim Hopper sat at the table, eating dinner with his daughter and niece. Obviously, he didn’t expect to choke on his potatoes when Y/n said she had met Steve Harrington and Billy Hargrove. “You stay away from mullet kid, you hear me?” She rolled her eyes, but nodded.
Jane, who was waiting until Hop was done speaking, put her hand over Y/n’s, “I know Steve.”
“You do? How?”
“No. That’s enough talk about boys. I asked how your day was, it’s Jane’s turn.”
Dinner continued past the awkward tension in the room. Jane and y/n rushed to bed, giggling in their dark room about the boys they were banned from talking about. Jane told her cousin about Mike, doing a bad job at denying it after y/n teased her in a sing-songy voice. Staying up until past midnight becoming a usual thing as the girls grew closer to one another.
A month in Hawkins had passed, only feeling like a week. Time really flew by, but Y/n and Jane had gotten to know each other really well. Y/n also met more people, including the group of kids that Steve hung out with. Her friends in highschool were still almost to nonexistent, but she was so distracted by family and her new friends that she didn’t even notice. It was fun, going over to the Byers’ house to hang out, meeting Joyce and her sons, even funner to convince the group to tease Mike and Jane in the embarrassing moments.
Halloween was next month, so it was time for Nancy to tell Y/n about the “annual Halloween Bash” Tina holds. Y/n planned for it right away, it being a perfect opportunity to get back to partying. She thought of all the costumes, different themes she could go with. There were honestly so many to choose from. Clearly there were going to be girls in “slutty” versions of costumes, but that wasn’t y/n’s style. She would be ready, that’s all she needed to know.
Billy and her didn’t talk much, but they saw each other almost every day, exchanging glances while pretending to be interested in what their friends had to say. Nancy saw how distracted she’d get when Billy was in the room, doing the same thing she did the first time Y/n was at a loss for words
Blasting David Bowie from her new room, she jumped onto her bed, relaxing back and thinking of what the next day could hold. Would she actually say hi to the teenage rebel? That was the thing. Billy was making her curious. Y/n had to know his secrets. It was nagging at her, the mysterious bruises that she knew weren’t hickeys, the girls he would fuck and then drop a week later, the fights he had with Steve. It all just made her more curious. What was the truth about Hawkins bad boy? And why was not knowing it keeping her up at night?

The tension could be tasted in the car as Billy sped down the highway towards Hawkins. He already missed his little munchkin even though they’d been on the road for less than three hours. Clara had him wrapped around her finger to the point of no return. And they had at least twenty-eight more hours to drive.        Billy looked to the side at Y/N. Her window was open, wind rushing through the Y/H/C locks he loved to weave his fingers through, eyes blocked by a pair of sunglasses. He traced her jawline with his gaze before reluctantly putting it back to the road.        “Don’t drive us off a cliff,” he heard his wife snicker and had to smile to himself.        “Can’t help it,” Billy entwined their hands, and Y/N squeezed his palm in comfort. “Hard to not look at such a pretty view.”        “You tell that to all the girls?”        “Just this one,” he pressed a quick kiss to her knuckles before gripping the wheel a bit tighter with his left hand. “She’s kinda special. Puts up with my bullshit and stuff. Gave me the chance to start a new life and the best gift ever in the form of a daughter.”        “Fuck, King of Hawkins is the biggest sap to walk planet Earth,” Y/N chuckled but her heart responded with an intense fluttering. “It’s gonna be alright, Demolition Man,” Y/N whispered. “I won’t let anything happen to you or me or us. You’re kinda stuck with me till the very end.”        Billy shrugged as if that statement was nothing to him, but his heart pumped faster in his chest. “Doesn’t sound too bad if I’m being honest.”        “Yeah, it better not,” Y/N grumbled, but he could hear the love laced in every single word.        She wasn’t really excited to be going back to Hawkins. Sure, Alex’s graduation, seeing her mom and the rest of the Party, grown-ups and teens alike, was something she had missed dearly while in California, but that town was filled with far too many memories that weren’t positive.        Everything starting from Will’s disappearance, then Barb’s death and the subsequent fight with the Demogorgon, had been bad enough. And when she returned for her final year, Y/N had hoped she could just bury everything in the depths of her mind, but obviously, things never went the way they were supposed to.        Y/N found the love of her life, but almost lost him a few months later to the Mind Flayer, and with Hopper having given his life to let Joyce close the Gate once and for all, there was just too much sorrow for a place with just 30 000 inhabitants.
“You okay there?” Billy’s voice was low and smooth as he looked at Y/N who had fallen deep in her thoughts.        She gave him a tightlipped smile. “Yeah. Just… I just want us to be happy while we’re there, you know. Not think about the shit that happened, and all of that horrible stuff. Just be happy that Max and Alex pulled through high school and are graduating. No Upside Down fuckery...”        He had been thinking about that a lot as well. The week leading up to them driving down to Hawkins was filled with nightmares about the Mind Flayer, and how he’d hurt the people that meant most to him. He would pull Y/N closer to him after waking up, her scent filling his nostrils, and when he deemed himself calm enough, Billy would creep out of the bed and to Clara’s room.        He’d stay for a few minutes, quietly double checking each and every window latch, the dark corners of the room, and then he’d leave her door ajar, just so he could hear if things went bump in the night.        “This week’s for us,” he mumbled kissing her hand again. “Us, Max and those losers there.”        “Yeah, well, I would’ve rather spent it in Bahamas or something,” came her reply.        “Well, maybe next year we can go there. Clara would love that.”        Y/N’s head lolled to the side, finally looking over at Billy. “She loves every moment that you’re around. And if a vacation is involved, where she can steal all your attention… she’s a daddy’s girl through and through.”        The smug smile on Billy’s face was something Y/N used to hate as he would walk down the school's halls. He had been getting better, but his reputation was something he loved to keep up, a new girl under his arm each day.        But slowly as they got to know one another, as he opened up about his issues and dreams, it had become one of the things Y/N adored the most. Especially when his lips pulled up at the mention of how much his daughter loved him, and that his wife seemed to be completely head over heels for him even after almost five years together.        “As is her mom.”        Of course, that was his answer.        Y/N gently shoved his face away from where he’d been looking at her. “Eyes on the road, dumbass. We still have to get to Hawkins in one piece.”        “Whatever you say, Mrs dumbass.”        With ‘dork’ uttered under her breath, she put her free hand outside the window and let the rushing winds weave through her fingers. Whatever awaited them at that godforsaken place they’d face together. They always had and always would.
***
After a sixteen hour drive, Y/N switching with Billy at the eight hour mark, they settled down in a motel at the side of the road, and as much as the two wanted to fully go at it, to arrive in Hawkins with marks across their necks that signified who they belonged to, the second they exited the shower, both plopped down on the uncomfortable bed and were asleep.        Y/N woke up groaning as the sunlight streamed into the motel room, the flimsy faded green curtains doing absolutely nothing to keep the rays out.        “Fuck this shit,” she mumbled, her cheek pressed tightly against Billy’s chest. Slowly she peeled herself off, feeling the tender skin of her face and noting the red splotch where she’d been practically glued to his peck.        Stretching, Y/N’s joints popped, and she released a satisfied grunt at the feeling.        “Every day I wake up and ask myself if I’ve died and gone to heaven,” Billy’s raspy morning voice made her turn around and glance at him        “I have drool down my chin, my hair’s a mess and my eyes are so puffy I look like I’ve cried for three days straight,” she raised her eyebrow. “Is that really what you imagine heaven to be like?”        “Mine?” his rough palm slid under the shirt Billy had given her and up her spine. “Absolutely. Isn’t this yours?”        Y/N shook her head. “If this was heaven, I would so not be up at five in the morning.”        “Fuck, it’s only five?” that brought Billy out of the trance as he peeped at the cheap electric clock whose jade numbers blinked, confirming it was indeed 5:03 in the morning.        “Nah, screw that,” he grumbled. “Get back in bed.”        "I gotta get ready."        "Back. In. Bed. Now."        She was not about to further argue with the sound demand of her husband.        It was a rarity they got to sleep in. Clara was an angel when being put to bed, falling asleep almost instantly, but she also woke up way too early. Like six AM on a Saturday early.        They slept for another three hours before putting themselves back together and commencing on another sixteen-hour drive before arriving in Hawkins. The sun had dipped down already when they rolled up to Y/N’s mom’s house where they would be staying.            In the beginning, Y/M/N had been wary of Billy and didn’t open her arms as much as she opened her house to the boy. But slowly, as her daughter’s relationship with him progressed, and she saw just how happy Y/N'd become, how there seemed to be not even an echo of the same dry-heaving girl with hands in her hair on her floor in the middle of the night, Y/N’s mom accepted Billy as a part of their family.        “If you ever need a place to stay, you know you’re always welcome,” she’d muttered one morning after Billy had stayed with them one night after a particularly nasty fight with Neil. “This is now your home, as much as it’s mine.”        Billy had just nodded because he didn’t trust his voice to stay steady.        Y/N was practically bouncing on her feet as she knocked against the door, and Alex sprung it open.        “What’s up shitbag?” she yelled in his ear before engulfing her brother in a hug. He rolled his eyes, but still, she could feel his arms tighten around her waist. Just as he was about to groan something about her being way too affectionate, their mother's steps could be heard rushing down to greet them.        “Where’s my granddaughter?” Y/M/N pepped over Y/N's shoulders after helping them bring their suitcases inside looking at the Camaro as if they’d left Clara in there.        “She’s in San Diego,” Y/N replied, hating how she could see her mom’s face fall. “We just thought it’d be best considering… everything.” She had never explicitly told what Billy’s father and family life was like, but by the numerous bruises and the soft crying Y/M/N had heard during some nights, she had an inclination.        “Well then,” if only for show, she lifted her spirits and clapped her hands together, “I guess that means after this whole thing is over, we’re going on a road trip.”        Y/N really did regret leaving Clara now. Her mom didn’t get many chances to go all the way to San Diego with her job as a nurse, but when she looked to the side and saw Billy’s eyes full of guilt and regret, she reminded herself why they had left her in the safety of California.        “Come,” Y/M/N motioned towards the kitchen. “I bet you’re ravenous.”        And they’d been. A violent grumble from her stomach had erupted through the hallway, Billy’s guiding hand on her lower back pushing them towards where the smell of lasagna wafted through the air.        The conversations flowed easily and without a hitch, Y/N’s mom wanting to know how San Diego was treating them, what the weather was like there and if they were happy with their jobs before Y/M/N ushered them up to Y/N’s old bedroom        “Go, get some sleep, you two look like you could use some rest.”        “Wow, thanks mom, way to make us feel better,” Y/N snorted, but she was right. They needed sleep. A lot of it with what was coming the next day.        It’s like Billy could read her mind. He let out a huff, thinking about meeting up with his father. He wanted to skip it, but unfortunately, they kinda had to, seeing how Max lived with Neil and Susan.        “It’s gonna be alright,” Y/N whispered feeling him wrap his arms around her middle and relax his head against her back. They were alone in the safety of her bedroom, so he felt comfortable enough to let his guard down. “I won’t let him hurt you.”        “I know,” Billy’s voice was hushed by where he’d pressed his mouth to the nape of her neck. “But that’s part of Neil’s charm as much as it’s Hawkins’ – they both know how to screw things up.”        Y/N couldn’t argue with that so, she just carded her fingers through his hair as they watched the dark streets of Hawkins outside her window. A lamp flickered in the distance, but neither saw it.
***
Billy’s palms were sweaty as he climbed out of the old Camaro, instinctually reaching for Y/N’s warm hand. She noted how the breath he let out was nothing short of shaky when he reached up to rap his knuckles against the door of the house he used to live in.        Y/N didn’t say home. Not even in her head. It had never been his home, it had never been his safe place. The number of times Billy had called her it, made her believe she was his, just like he was hers. California would’ve never truly been a place Y/N had been happy in, unless for him. He made it home.        Ten agonizing seconds passed, the thumps echoing through the garden, but nothing happened.            He knocked again.            Silence. Not even a footstep could be heard in the house.            Just as Billy was about to relax, realizing the place was empty and the meeting could be postponed until sometime during the week, maybe even till the Friday of the graduation, a car pulled up to the front of the garage, Susan’s surprised face looking the two of them.            Slowly, as if Neil wanted to torture his son even more than he already had, he opened his car door and stepped out, glaring at the people on his porch.            “What are you doing here?”           It was the same cold tone Billy had described his father always talked in, and Y/N instantly hated it.            “Came to see Max,” he curtly replied to the older man. “She’s graduating and stuff.”            “And you think she’d want you here because?”            A muscle in Billy’s jaw ticked. “Because she told me so herself.”            Neil let out a sarcastic snort and started to make his way to them. “Why would she want a piece of shit like you, someone who left her here alone, to come to her graduation? I’m sure she wants it to be a happy event and not have it ruined by you.”            The grip around Y/N’s hand tightened, and she squeezed back, trying to diffuse the anger rising in Billy. Then Neil’s attention turned to her.            “Don’t I know you?” he raised a finger to point at Y/N, and where Billy expected her to bristle because of everything he’d told her about his father, not even a single muscle moved in her face to show just how much she really didn’t want to be in his proximity.            “She was my girlfriend throughout pretty much the whole senior year and summer,” Billy answered not faltering with the way his dad smirked.            “Didn’t think you could keep it together enough to make something last.”            Y/N narrowed her eyes at her father-in-law. “Well, marriage and mutual respect kinda helps do that.”            Both his and Susan’s eyes widened as they dropped to where Y/N had her palm wrapped around Billy’s, and on her left ring finger sat a dainty silver band with a small diamond in it, a simple gold circlet resting above matching the one on Billy’s left ring finger.            “And when did that happen?” they could see Neil fuming underneath the mask of calm. “Thought your mother and father would get an invitation at least.”            “We didn’t wanna make you drive all the way out to San Diego,” Billy’s tone chilled even Y/N to her core. The remark wasn’t lost on Neil, as it reminded him of when his son had been in the hospital in a critical condition fighting for his life, and he hadn’t even bothered to drive the few miles to HMH to see if Billy was still breathing. And Y/N couldn’t help herself to jab the knife deeper.            “We just didn’t want to inconvenience you. After all, if a hospital is too far away, then how could we make you drive all the way to California?”            “Got yourself a mouthy one here,” Neil licked his bottom lip, and Y/N shivered in disgust. “They’re the hardest ones to keep in check, so gotta make sure you have a tight grip on ‘er,” he chuckled, levelling his gaze at Billy.            Contrary to how he expected Billy’s temper to rise, it was his son’s wife that shifted on her feet. His eyes flitted down to the side where Y/N was grasping at Billy’s shirt now, with a fist so tight, the clothing looked as if it might tear; unbridled rage in her eyes. And contrary to what Neil expected, it was Billy placing a calming hand on her knuckles where it used to be the other way around.            “We keep each other in check,” he responded with a stone-cold face, not giving in to Neil’s game. “And definitely not in the way you would.”            The sound of a skateboard rolling towards them from the other side of the sidewalk was enough of a distraction for everyone that it blocked whatever Neil was going to sneer in response.              “Billy!” Max shouted and rushed over to where the two twenty-year-olds stood before barreling into her brother’s chest. When Billy hugged Max with the same amount of affection, Y/N could see Neil seething.            His son was completely free. He had been hacking away at those chains little by little every day since they left for California. And the day when he’d found Y/N sobbing on their studio apartments bathroom tiles, he had broken them completely because she was pregnant, the white stick with a plus sign his confirmation.            His lips had engulfed hers in a passionate kiss before laughing through his own tears. He slid down to his stomach and pushed up Y/N’s shirt, peppering her tummy with kisses            “You’re not mad?” her voice trembled with confusion and relief.            “No,” he shook his head. “Surprised, unprepared yeah. Terrified beyond belief, but I’m gonna be the best dad ever. I promise. We’re gonna be alright…” After a pause, he added, “How far along do you think you are?”            Y/N had shaken her head and hid her face in the crook of his neck once he pulled her to his lap. “I dunno. I’ve missed like three periods, but I just thought it was because of the stress, you know. Uni and work on top of that... and I’ve had no symptoms like cravings or vomiting, so I dunno… are you really not angry at me?”            “Dollface, even I know it takes two to make a third,” he brushed a hand down her hair, helping Y/N steady her breathing, the smell of the cheap cologne he’d always buy at the local Hawkins department store had been replaced by the salty notes of seawater and fresh wind.  It had quickly become Y/N’s favourite scent of all time because it was Billy down to his core.            “We’ll figure it out,” he promised, bringing her face out from where she’d hidden it in his chest and pressing a love filled kiss to her forehead. “We’re gonna be okay.”            They truly were. When Y/N’s water had broken in the middle of the night, he was calm and collected despite freaking the fuck out on the inside, but his stress was something she didn’t need to deal with at that moment. And when Clara had wrapped her tiny little fist around his finger after nine hours of intense labour, there was nothing in this world that could stop him from loving the two humans that meant the most to him.            “He satisfy you?” Neil nudged his chin in Y/N’s direction making Billy’s face turn into a scowl. “Earn enough money? God knows he used to be good for nothing, maybe you’ve managed to straighten him out.”            Billy had taken a lot of shit from his dad throughout the years for a lot of things, half of them weren’t even his fault, but he wasn’t going to listen to Neil berate and put him down as a husband, when he knew he did the best he could and had Y/N remind him that every day.            He was just about to say at least he was a better father than Neil ever was when Y/N squeezed his side to let it go, not even dignifying the questions with an answer just a bitter cold stare.            “How long are you two staying?” Susan asked quietly and waited in tense silence as Billy huffed and glanced at his step-mother.            “Until the ceremony and then we gotta head home. Work and shit.”            “Watch your mouth, son,” Neil growled but Y/N smirked.            “Sorry,” she apologized with a fake smile. “Until the fucking ceremony. We got work and shit back home.”            Max’s grin was proud and annoyed at the same time. Proud cause neither of them were taking Neil’s berating, annoyed cause she’d have to hear him bitch about it for the rest of the week no doubt. Maybe even after Billy and Y/N left for San Diego and when she came back to Hawkins after her trip to their place.            Before retreating, Billy ruffled Max’s long red locks, and she gave him a tight hug.            “Careful Billy,” Y/N chuckled. “Show a bit more love and affection, and your dad might combust.”            “I guess its time to give Harrington a kiss then,” the smirk on his face was nothing short of mischievous. She rolled her eyes feeling the weight of his arm as he slung it around her shoulders and moved them towards the car again with a promise to Max that they’d meet for dinner that night.            Given how Y/N had called from her mom’s place to give Nancy and their friends a message as to around what time they’d be in Hawkins, Billy knew to drive to Benny’s as that was where they’d find them.            Sure enough, Nancy’s new Mustang was parked right in front of the joint, but another pair was there as well in the form of a smoking Tommy H and a bubblegum popping Carol.             It was like they were teenagers once again – the same bullshit socialite drama, Alpha male dick measuring contests and don’t-look-at-my-girl’s-ass stares as Y/N and Billy climbed out of the Camaro and went to walk inside where Nancy, Johnathan and Steve were all talking in a booth, but not before being intercepted by his old ‘friends’.            “Hargrove!” Tommy H shouted from where he stood next to a Mercedes convertible, Carol perched on the door with her legs inside the car on the seat. “The fuck, man? Why didn’t you call or something? Didn’t know you’d be coming back for the reunion!”            “ ‘M not here for that shit,” Billy snorted as if it was the most ridiculous thought in the world he’d bother to drive back to Hawkins to come to a class reunion. “I’m here cause my sister’s graduating. After that, you’ll never see my face again.”            “What the fuck happened to the King of Hawkins? He’d never turn down an opportunity to party,” Tommy scoffed mirroring Carol’s crossed arms as the two watched the pair move to enter Benny's. They couldn't believe Billy had straightened out, didn't want to.            “He finally cut out all the bullshit and found happiness.” By their expressions, it was better than a punch to the face. But Tommy was relentless. It’s like he had been waiting for the day Billy would arrive, like his life wasn’t fulfilled if the blond Californian didn’t sit by his side with a beer can in one hand and a cigarette between his teeth, girls practically grinding on their laps to be the chosen flavour of the week.            “Come on man, let’s smoke one. For old times’ sake.”            “I don’t do that anymore.”            “What?” Tommy laughed in disbelief.            “I quit,” Billy’s reply was curt. “Almost four years ago.” The same exact day he found out he’d be a dad, though that was not information he wished to indulge those two with.            “Next you’re gonna tell me you don’t drink anymore,” Carol snorted and shook her head.            Billy sighed and rolled his head to look at her. “Some things never change, do they?”            “Like what?”            “Like you being a bitch.”            Carol sneered at him but didn't get a chance to butt in as Steve with Nancy and Johnatan in tow exited the diner, having witnessed how they had been held up.            Swiftly turning their attention to the trio, Y/N engaged herself in a conversation with Nancy to block out the unwelcome distractions. But it was like they lived and breathed the attention people gave them and fed on everyone being annoyed.            “Didn’t think you two would still be together,” Carol slid up to where Y/N was talking with Nancy, and the two other girls rolled their eyes so hard, Billy was scared for a second, they’d stay stuck like that in their heads.            “Yeah, well, it wasn’t our intention to impress you,” Y/N answered, not taking her bait. Everyone could recall how Billy was with girls, them practically launching themselves at him, and him completely loving the attention.            Seeing how Y/N wouldn’t engage she tried a different tactic. “So, Tina’s throwing a party for everyone who’s come back.”            “Of course, she is,” Y/N mumbled but it wasn’t loud enough for Carol to hear, though Nancy did just fine, making her hold back a snort.            The old Hawkins high school students had decided to have a reunion the week the graduation was happening, but when Billy and Y/N had heard about that, neither had any harrowing need to see the people they left behind.            The ones they wished to keep in contact with they did, Nancy and Johnathan being frequent visitors of Y/N’s, and Billy even had a civil relationship with Steve, but other than that, the two had no wish to see everyone else.            “You two coming, or is Billy such a bore now because of you, that even he won’t show?” the remark was clearly addressed to Y/N.            “I dunno, why do you so desperately want to climb in my husband’s pants?”            Carol choked on the second to last word. “Husband?”            So, Y/N, with the smuggest smile she could muster up, allowed the girl to look at her left ring finger, the jewellery glinting in the sunlight. As the other woman kept her eyes onto the sparkling diamond, Billy’s hand slipped into the back pocket of Y/N’s jeans.            “Here, thought you might be thirsty,” he joined them having quickly gone into Benny's to get a drink and offered the open bottle of his soda. With a peck on his lips, she took the offered beverage, but not before lifting an eyebrow, gaze glued to Carol’s fuming face.            “Everything alright here?” Billy mumbled, not wanting to get involved in some girl drama.         “Yeah,” Y/N nodded. “Carol apparently just wanted to get you between her legs before she found out you’re in a committed relationship.”        “Sweet cheeks, we’ve been together since senior year,” even though the words were directed towards Carol, who just rolled her eyes, the meaning was for Y/N. We’ve been through hell and back, he'd meant. I’m just as much yours as you are mine.        “Besides, I’d rather abstain for the rest of my life than shove my dick in her hole,” Billy muttered in Y/N’s ears, and she chocked on the soda, so strongly that it shot up to her nose. As she coughed, his strong palm hitting on her back to help get the liquid out, everyone laughed at her reaction, apart from the two ex-friends that went to stand by their car.        “Probably has a side chick,” Tommy said to Carol. “There’s no way she’s enough, I mean it’s Y/N, for fuck’s sake.”        But Billy heard them, despite the two talking quietly and his wife’s coughing. “And you would know all about side chicks, wouldn’t you Tommy?” Billy threw back.        That just earned him a glare from Tommy and an eye-roll from Carol.        “Well, when you decide to stop being fucking drags, the party starts at ten.”        They hopped into the car, and the Mercedes roared to life, disrupting the conversation Billy had been having with Nancy and Johnathan about the details of their siblings’ graduation.        “Feels like old times, huh,” Steve muttered as Y/N leaned against his shoulder his eyes trailing after the car.        “But not too much,” she mumbled back. “I don’t ever want it to be like it used to.”        But they wouldn’t have any say in it. Deep in the woods of Hawkins, a shadow loomed between the trees, and an inhuman screech split the air apart. Things were just how they used to be, and it was not a good thing.

What am I, a single woman in her 20s doing on New Years Eve, you ask? Sitting alone in my apartment and writing until I can't feel my fingertips anymore. That's what.

AN: Let's get back to this, shall we? (P. S. I do not own the GIF of Steve spinning the bat!!!!)
—————
“You're thinking of what? Are you fucking stupid? You could get yourself killed!” Billy yelled at her, watching as she rolled up the sleeves of the new shirt she changed into.
“Now, you can see why I have to go. Jane, Jane could die if I'm not there. Hopper too, hell, maybe Will's mom. I'm not letting that happen.” Y/N spoke with a stern voice, eyes meeting his. “So, piss off. It's not like you give a shit anyway, Hargrove.”
“Listen, fuck, just listen to me, okay—”
“Didn't I say piss off?”
“You're not going.” A voice agreed from behind her, making Y/N chuckle and turn around. “You're not going to die, risking your life for us. Jane can do this.”
“For once, we fucking agree on something, Harrington.”
She bit her tongue, turning back away before placing her hands on the table. That's when Y/N’s brain processed everything. She got mad, no, she got pissed.
She wasn't going to be able to go. She wasn't going to be able to save her sister, or Hopper, or even Joyce—hell, she'd barely known Joyce and she already cared for her—and Will, Will's going to blame it all on her. She was furious. Slamming her hands on the table multiple times, she screamed.
Billy and Steve had clenched their bodies, waiting for the force of Y/N’s mind to throw them around.
But, it never came.
“No.” She whispered. Falling to her knees, tears fell instantly. “No, no, no. No, fuck, no, this can't be happening.”
—————
They didn't know what to do when Y/N had finally gotten up after crying and walked to the front door. Billy looked at Steve, and Steve looked at Billy, but their eyes came back to her.
“We're going. End of discussion.” She said, opening the door.
“Hey, you don't have your fucking powers any more, doll. You don't just get to push us around anymore.” Hargrove spoke up as he walked up to the girl, his fingertips lightly touching the front door. “So go sit the fuck down, and wait for everyone to get back.” With that, he pushed the door closed.
“Don't fucking tell me what to do.” Y/N uttered, eyes filled with anger. She would break his fucking neck if she could.
“Listen, princess—”
“Call me another name like that, and I'll knock you the fuck out, Hargrove.”
“I would really like to see you try.”
“Okay.”
Before Steve could comprehend what was happening, her fist smacked right into Billy's face—well, his nose and face, she'd punched him, twice. His head made a sharp left turn before he fell to the ground, unconscious and blood left pouring out of his nose. Her eyes caught Steve's and she sighed.
“Well, I mean, you did tell him.”
—————
“What happened to my brother?” Max pointed out the figure lying out cold on the floor, blood slightly dried now.
“I told him I’d knock him out—”
“He didn't believe her.” Steve finished.
“Well, okay then.”
“Thanks for the friendly chat and catching up while we've been in the basement or an hour or so, guys, but, uh, we have trouble.” Dustin spoke, pointing out the window. A small demogorgon was creeping up to the house, hissing and growling as it smelt blood.
And life.
“What do we do?” Mike asked, biting his lip slightly as he looked at everyone.
“Y/N could use her mi—” Lucas started but was interrupted when he saw Steve using his hand to motion it back and forth in front of his throat. “Wha?”
“Remember when I left to use the bathroom?” Max blurted out, eyes staring at the floor.
“Yeah?” Will questioned, voice fading at the end.
“I saw it, Steve.” She said, looking at the teen in his eyes and then at Y/N. “I saw you having your seizure. And it scared the hell out of me.” Max whispered, turning back to her friends. “That's why I came back to the basement, looking sick.”
“So that means—?” Lucas questioned, still not understanding.
“It means she doesn't have them, now. Or they're blocked.” Steve said, standing up and walking to the kitchen. When he reappeared—after stepping over Billy's body—he had his bat.
“Are those—?”
“Yeah.”
“And you—?”
“Kill those things with this, yes.” Steve said, twisting the bat in his hands. “Maybe we should move him. It would suck if he were to get eaten, or something. Keep that door closed?” He questioned Y/N, and watched her nod.
He placed the bat on the ground and helped the kids drag Billy's body to the next room with ease.
Y/N’s body jerked forward as the monster outside slammed into the door, trying to make its entrance. Steve had placed him down without a care, and his ears immediately caught Y/N’s voice from the other room.
“Steve!” She yelled, attempting to press even more weight against the door. “Steve! I can't—”
—————
His eyes snapped open and he stared at the ceiling for a good moment, it was twenty minutes, but in his mind, it was hours, before he heard a scream of ‘Steve!’ coming from a room, he definitely wasn't in. Standing up in one quick motion, the teen rubbed his nose and made a confused face before pulling his hand away.
“Steve! I can't—”
The dried blood on his fingertip made him come to a realization and he clenched his teeth together.
She fucking did knock me out.
Did he have time to actually think about it? No.
So he ran out of the room he was in and into the living room, his eyes widening at the sight before him. Y/N was pressed up against the door, attempting to keep, whatever the fuck, it was out of the house.
“Doll, what the hell are you doing out here by yourself?” He questioned, still attempting to rub the blood off from under his nose.
“Billy, Billy, listen, leave—” She attempted to warn him, but it was too late. The demogorgon had finally broken its way through the door, throwing Y/N on the ground in a swift motion.
“Y/N!”
“Not today, asshole.” Steve's voice blurted out, bat in hand. “Come on.” He whistled to the monster, backing away slowly as he does so.
It definitely took the bait, as it followed Harrington, hissing and spitting. Suddenly, it lunged. It didn't get far though, not before Steve smacked the shit out of it with the nail-ridden bat. It fell to the floor before picking its body up and turning to the male. It's face opened up before running at Harrington.
Smack.
Squelch.
Thump.
Steve held onto the bat, looking down at the creature with a disgusted look on his face. His eyes turned to Y/N, realising she wasn't by the front door—there wasn't even a door there, anymore—and looked around. His eyes shifted to movement on the other side of the room and there she was.
Eyes filled with worry, lip smeared with blood, but still confident, and Steve, Steve had never seen someone more beautiful in his entire life. “Hey.” He said to her, smile gracing his face.
“Hey.” Y/N breathed out, wiping the blood off her lip and hissing when she realized there was a cut. “Fuck, that hurt.”
“Was, was that the fucking creature you were talking about?” Hargrove suddenly sputtered out of his mouth, body still frozen in place.
“Yeah, and good morning. Get used to it, he—” she pointed to the dead monster on the ground, “brought friends. Hope you can fight.” The words came out easy and she licked the cut on her lip before getting in stance. “I didn't sign up for this.”
—————
He could. Billy Hargrove could fight, and she was shocked, to say the least. She wasn't shocked about him fighting, no, she was shocked how easy he took this whole—Hawkins had made a lab, which created El and you, and the Upside Down. Which, in returned, haunted you all forever.
“Did you know that this is fucking bullshit?” Billy spoke, throwing the shovel down on the ground. “Maxine and I moved here, to get away from this shit—”
“Wait, it's happening in California, too?” She questioned, turning to the male. “This is happening in California, and you just ran away?!” Y/N was pissed as she punched him in the chest as hard as she could, but he had ended up holding her wrists and pulling her to him.
“What if they're all connected?” Mike said, brain filled with ideas. The kids started making a plan, all of them butting in.
“All we'd have to do—” Max.
“Is go down to the tunnels—” Lucas
“And set that shit on fire!” Dustin.
“Hey, hey, hey, that is not happening.” Before he even knew what happened, a voice chimed in.
“It's closed. The kids are right, we have to burn the tunnels. Hargrove, we'll be having a conversation, later.” Hopper said, taking off his jacket before sitting on the couch. Eleven followed, wiping her nose multiple times before she ran to Y/N, hugging tightly.
“You're back.” Jane said, hugging tightly.
“Wha—” your eyes widened as you looked over and tilted your head to the side slightly, Mike's backpack falling off the table. Smiling widely, you threw your head back and laughed.
“Yes, Jane. I'm back.”
