I have physically gathered all major Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio games, including such forgotten masterpieces as Binary Domain and Fist of the North Star: Lost Paradise.
The only catchup I have to play now is to acquire both Kurohyō, but besides that I'm content and can concentrate on newest releases.

When fighting the mechanical monstrosities present throughout Binary Domain, the player also has access to a squad of teammates to help them complete objectives. While the members of this squad can fight on their own, the player can also direct them with simple commands using either a button press, or input via a microphone by speaking aloud. On top of making the player feel connected to the actions of their squad, this can also ensure that they maintain a higher level of trust with the player character, which can lead to improvements in combat overall.

I had heard good things about Binary Domain and how the story was really unexpected, etc. Having played it, forgive me but...
Spoilers for a 10+ year old game
If a game, centered on human/robot tensions, where some robots don't even know they're robots and look human (Battlestar Galactica style) and the gameplay has a bunch of mechanics focused on build camaraderie with your team, I feel like it's pretty obvious that one of said team is going to turn out to be a robot.
When you then have a romantic scene with one of the characters I feel like it's underlined that it's definitely going to be them.
I don't really see that as an unexpected twist.

So, first it's iced coffee and gays and now it's Mazdas' and gays? (I'm a gay who cried and prepared a funeral when my dad's Mazda broke down. I despised every other car in a fit of grief over that Mazda.)

I'm telling you, Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio kept reusing KazuKaoru as their blueprint.

imo, there's also this weird modern bias with 'masculine' and 'feminine' cultures to study--like, every culture has war / politics / philosophy... AND art / beauty / handcrafts (which should not be diametrically opposed anyway!)--but so much of that latter part is forgotten in the general teaching of history that those elements culturally assigned as masculine are, like, overlaid on top of historical cultures.
Yeah the romans fought a lot of wars. Everyone did. Everyone had their own versions of world history, and philosophy, and morals. Rome is hardly unique for being uppity about its own magnificence.
They had art, too. Coffin portraits, raunchy novels, fun mosaics all over. Strange how that gets left out.
i don't understand the recent "how often do men think of the roman empire" trend. one of the most well-known recent academic and popular historians of the roman empire is a woman, mary beard. why do this? it isn't cute or funny if you think about the implications for more than five seconds

arguing that the coercive nature of sex assignment at birth only begins when done to intersex infants is to argue that “the binary sexes” are a stable set of categories that the practice of sex assignment merely seeks to reflect. From this perspective the act of sex assignment itself is basically irrelevant in any discussion of sex, as this process is helplessly beholden to only pointing out an underlying, unchangeable facet of the real world that exists outside the domain of human action. In fact this framework leaves you incapable of theorising the category of intersex as anything other than “biologically defective,” a deviance from the Objectively Natural, as opposed to a category that is itself constructed in order to medically, violently defend the supposed naturalness of immutable binary sex
