Spring has come, but here in the Northeast of the US, the warmth has not yet arrived. This is an altar to bring in the warmth. An altar because I had some fresh flowers. An altar because I have extra time right now. An altar just because! I forgot how meditative it is to watch incense smoke curl and rise. In this time of turmoil in the global family, I’ve found practice, and presence.

Breathe, and be present.

Today is a very special day for my family & I. We have found a place we want to call home & will be walking through the inspection hoping everything runs smooth as whiskey. Today is said to be one of the 3 luckiest days of the year. The more in tune we are with the way "luck" is always coursing through the universe, the more you'll recognize it tomorrow, and every day after that! I can't think of a better time to break in my gifts from a fellow "witchy woman" who enjoys wildcrafting & making magic. I'm talking about @bitterwitchapothecary! I believe in the power of energy & no matter what I am constantly trying to raise my vibration to higher levels & this is a great way to do just that. In my box of treats I received, a 'Yerba Santa Citrine Smudge Wand' that I burn with intention to encourage spirituality and personal power. It is laced with a magnificent Citrine stone that works to attract prosperity and open intuition. Next up is my new 'Rose Cedar Magick Smudge Wand'. Cedar is a family favorite at Casa de Beatz! I like burning it in the morning before everyone is out the door to ignite magic and banish bad energy clearing space for prosperity, beauty and abundance. The cedar is foraged & the rose is harvested from the Bitterwitch garden and is tied with hemp twine. I added the grandiose clear quartz crystal she gave me to the wand to invoke healing. Ancients believed these stones to be alive, taking a breath once every hundred years or so, and many cultures thought them to be incarnations of the Divine. And finally, may I introduce the new 'Hard Perfume Anointing Oil Amulets' made with raw beeswax and almond oil. In Celtic mythology bees were considered a messanger between our world and the spirit world. Beeswax also has anti-inflammatory properties & healing properties. ⭐ Happy December Solstice! ⭐

A (slightly messy) altar for the solstice. I didn’t have a lot of time yesterday morning, but even with ten minutes it was nice to sit in quiet and arrange my altar. I put it in front of the window this time as you can see — mostly for aesthetics. 

Personally I love winter. I always say I could never move from the Northeast US because I would miss winter too much! There’s just something so magical about a cold, silent snowy day. Spiritually, winter gives us the opportunity to get quiet and figure out what’s working and what’s not. It’s a time when wisdom is received inwardly. A time to dive deep. A space to contemplate.

Winter is a time to ask what intentions, prayers, hopes, and visions you want to seed for the new year. Look inside and ask what your heart wants to nurture in the dark landscape of your soul. When you’re quiet, your are better able to listen to the insight of your heart, soul and intuition. Learn from the darkness so that you may shine!
