I think it’s a perfect time to make my comeback on Tumblr, today I feel the urge for expression

This used to be my favorite holiday

I thought I would get married on this day

I wanted anniversaries on today, with automatic fireworks to celebrate the love we share with each other

Every firework I saw would’ve been for me, for you, for us

I don’t even celebrate this day anymore

Only Juneteenth for the true celebration

We are out and about traveling this year and it was just what was needed

A getaway, feels like the only time I take a pause these days

There are so many days that I long for a slow motion or rewind button

Being a mom lends itself to the constant need to remember and embrace the moments

I was already sentimental, now I just cling

Today would’ve been special if life panned out the way I thought it would have

Feeling a little bittersweet but none the less, feeling

Being present in my feelings

It’s work but much needed to help with perspective

I have to remind myself to keep living and enjoy it at all parts of the spectrum

Being a woman is a complex that I feel I have yet to master.

This is before the nuances that make my experience unique to me…

But now.. I’m a mother to a girl who will become a woman with nuances of her own.

I just pray that the foundation that I lay is strong enough to hold what she will build.
