I am sorry, but tumblr's melt down over Roe V being overturn is pretty darn funny, and something to definitely giggle about.

With that being stated I am super glad Roe got shot down, however,...there is always gonna be a however in this situation, these people decided it was a great idea to give the power to the state...instead of letting the people just end it all, instead we get the demo..the full package will cost people lots of protection, and well...this is uncomfortable to type this down but, there will be dead bodies for the full package to occur. Since tumblr folks are having - well tumblr witches, to feminists that I do believe are just plain witches, don't realize that Roe V..shtick is just limited.. sadly, it's a 'win' but not a win in a sense that you basically well send anybody in jail for killing an infants life, they still will be 'protected' using this loosely cause I know that folks will rightfully stop such vil ugly acts that is being done to an inoccent adorable pure life.

Nonetheless this was interesting to see the reaction of how it went down, because not only does it show how fallen society is in whole, but it really oozes out the real monsters that hide usually under ya bed, now they just ratchet rampant on wanting to murder, riot - all for the sake of killing a life that's not theirs anymore once you open those legs :"). Whatever it maybe, not just abortion but other stuff as well..common sense that everybody knows that if you come knocking to wanting to harm a person they have every right to defend theirself, whether you get offended by this fact or not is up to you.

Am I gonna be sad, - like my comment on the church if they will be sad about such actions occuring? Heck yeah, that ain't a laughing matter..its serious, and it's depressing stuff. How would you have written Edelgard out of curiosity if you could change Three Houses' script? Assuming that all 4 of the routes are still a thing and you only side with her on CF. The fic answers some of that but I'm curious on how you'd have written CF specifically.

Honestly? It's a lot less to do with her than I may imply.

This ties back into my beef that FE3H has a severity problem, in that it's very, very reluctant to paint the horrors of war with the brush it requires. In regards to EdeIgard, my biggest problem is that she's so rarely called out on her shit. I wanted more pushback and call-outs like Dimitri's; "Must you continue to conquer?" "This future of yours is built on a foundation of corpses and tears." Buzz words that speak to the depravity of her actions. She's an imperialist who doesn't bat an eye at violence, and yet, whenever her more abrasive characteristics come up, it's either completely glossed over by the narrative, or forgotten soon after. But I've noticed something: a lot of times, when they come up, she's alone with Byleth. Calling the people who occupied the ruins inhuman; saying that she would sacrifice her citizens just like Lonato, etc; when she gives her take on Crests, and mentions that they help people rule the world, the foreign students are simply . . . nowhere to be found to mention that, hey, Crests are a thing exclusive to Fódlan, you should be careful about what you say. Conversely, though, Edelgard will appear in Claude's version of this cutscene to give her two cents on what he should and shouldn't share about himself, which I'm not mad about at all, but it says a lot.

Now, that isn't to say it's the only instance; when she's talking to Gilbert, really she's talking at him, because Gilbert is never given the chance by either her or the narrative to contradict what she says about Miklan. Gilbert would have shit to say about that, as the brother of a Crestless baron (a family descending from the Elites too, mind) and personal trainer to the crown; both stations one through noble ties, not Crests, which is her main beef here. She also talks smack about the goddess, which--well. Mr. "Repenting in a holy place for letting my king die and bringing shame to my family" wouldn't take too well to that.

Back to the point, though: All I really changed in Princes, which you rightly cite as my take on a rewritten Edelgard, is that I have people around when she says things, and have them realistically bite back. A lot of what I've had her say so far is directly inspired by what she says in game, just in a different setting.

Bear with me:

“The Empire has been broken down since its founding,” Edelgard said. “What we have now is a land of great inner turmoil.”

Claude cut his gaze to Edelgard without facing her. “Which can be overcome with determination and a kind hand.”

“That’s a rather optimistic outlook on things.”

“Not the worst thing I’ve ever been called.”

frankly i was downright charitable with that one, because she would have had the entire dining hall turn against her if she said that shit in this scene

“I am cutting away rot,” Edelgard insisted, making a too-large swing for Dimitri’s head. The battle was wearing on her as well, then. “Too long has this country been divided by vile liars—too long have the people of this land been led to ruin without a care for their safety.”

“This country?” Dimitri repeated, seething without the help of his illusions. “You would do well to hold your damned tongue, Edelgard, before I see fit to cut it out.”

I'll admit I went a little hammy on her nationalistic beliefs, but seeing as this happens far, far down the line in the fic, there's realistic build-up to it in the fic itself; that, and I took a little bit of creative liberty with exactly what nationalistic bullshit she was fed by her father.

It's less that I rewrote her character, and more than I rewrote her circumstances to allow abrasive qualities to actually brush up against something--to know they're abrasive in-story. That's what I'd change about FE3H.

As for CF? Crank it up to 11. Have one of your missions for the month be putting down rebels that are tired of being starved for the sake of her war effort; have Byleth blatantly worsen mentally and emotionally for heading toward a future where they no longer help people, but kill them; have little to no recruits because of how little Edelgard respects the autonomy of the countries she's trying to conquer; have Byleth's powers fizzle out toward the end (an idea I expand upon in my current CF fic, wherein Edelgard loses) because of Sothis trying to retract the powers she'd gifted them. I mentioned this before, but have the actual history of the Nabateans crop up to contradict her bullshit; paint her with the "eyes wide shut" brush she's more than earned. It's compelling, and it's infuriating, and if you're going to aid the warmonger with a saviour complex, that's the combination you want.

It's less that Edelgard doesn't own up to her shit in the game (though she still has insufferable moments of "must I wade through so much blood :(" but I chalk that up to her certain brand of a lack of self-awareness), and more that the story doesn't allow people to push back. People have used the phrase "kid gloves" to refer to how the story treats her, and honestly? I completely agree. So the gloves would come off, and to the people of this story--the ones getting invaded, killed, the ones whose homes are not respected and who shared air for a year with someone who was planning on trampling over them the whole time--would outright hate her for what she's done, what she's doing, what she has no shame over. She believes in her cause totally and completely; good. Have people hold total and complete contempt for her because of it.

(I'll put it under the cut for the curious because I think it's important and i cannot be stopped but also i'm not kidding the facts are infuriating)

SO. "Homeopathic" is often interpreted as sort of a vague synonym for "natural," or "organic," but it's actually related to a system of alternative medicine that means something Very Specific.

There are two main principles behind the practice of Homeopathy.

"Like cures like." This is the idea that, for example, if you have a headache, taking a veeeery small amount of a substance that is known to CAUSE headaches will cure that symptom. I understand where people fall into this flawed idea, as it sounds very similar to the principles behind, say, vaccines, or antivenom. But it isn't universally applicable in this way. An herb isn't a virus. But even if it was, a Homeopathic preparation of that herb would not have any effect on the body because of the second principle.

"Water has memory." This is the idea that water is able to "remember" any substance that it has had contact with. This is also not true. Molecules don't really have any way to store information like that, and even if they did, well... What would that information do inside our bodies? Would our cells have any way to interpret and process that information? What would they do with it? It's all rather nebulous and it seems like more of a spiritual claim than a scientific one. Which is fine, but is not medicine.

So, with these principles in mind, the process of creating a "Homeopathic Preparation of [insert substance here]" goes a little something like this: You take a dropper and put one drop of your active substance in a container with a hundred drops of water. You then take a drop of that mixture, and put it in another container with another hundred drops of water. You continue this dilution process until there is, quite literally, a near-zero percent chance that your mixture contains even a single molecule of your original active substance (depending on the level of dilution believed to be best for the substance in question. Typically, a higher dilution is considered more potent.) So it is, by this point, literally just a vial of water.

This vial of water is what is then sold as a "Homeopathic preparation of [substance]." OR that water is used to compound a batch of sugar pills, or gel capsules, or tablets, whatever format is being offered. Regardless, the composition of the tincture is literally just water and ~*vibes*~.

And they sell these vials of expensive vibe water! At!!!

THE PHARMACY!!! WITH LIKE THE IBUPROFEN AND ALL THE OTHER REAL MEDICINES!!! AND NO BIG WARNING LABELS THAT SAY, "THIS CONTAINS NO ACTIVE INGREDIENTS AND IS BASED ON VIBES ALONE," OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT!!

In fact! In the US they are able to advertise that they have been FDA approved! (FDA approval of dietary supplements is not the same as FDA approval of actual medications. In the context of supplements, approval just means they've proved it won't just kill you straight up, and thus you're allowed to sell it.) And, well. It certainly won't kill you! In fact they often also advertise things like, "It's natural!" and "No harmful side effects!" and "No risk of overdose!" and it's all technically true! BECAUSE IT'S JUST WATER! LIKE I CAN'T STRESS ENOUGH HOW IT'S LITERALLY JUST WATER!!!

Anyway. Please keep this in mind the next time you are offered a homeopathic remedy, or see one advertised in the store, or hear your antivaxxer auntie bragging about the fact that her kids all got a "homeopathic" alternative to their MMR shots.

Apparently the OP of the post I recently reblogged on the subject is anti-endo, oops, so deleting that and making my own post. (We do not support fakeclaiming and accusing people of being wrong about their own experiences in this house.)

Look, the fake tails vs real tails thing isn't something I really want to get into a whole debate about, but the short of it is,

there's no one right-all-the-time answer for whether to get a fake tail or a real one, practically or morally speaking.

Many real tails come from unethical sources, yes, and people should be careful about where they get any real animal parts from - but the answer is not "never buy real tails, only ever get fake ones." There are a lot of reasons a fake tail might not work for someone, and moreover, faux fur is plastic and every time it gets washed or wet it puts microplastics into the environment. Ecologically speaking, it is worse for the world than real fur.

And on the flipside, there's reasons a real tail might not work for someone - they might be personally uncomfortable with touching the fur of a dead animal, or they might not be able to afford a tail they're sure is ethically sourced (as it's often harder to find affordable tails that aren't coming from unethical sources).

Quit yellin' at each other about the One True Moral Way and instead focus on a) education about how to tell if a fur source is likely to be treating their animals poorly (though it's not as common as you might think, from what I've read, because if you treat animals poorly the quality of their fur tends to go to shit), and b) education on the cons and pros of each type of tail.

To learn this is the reason? It mostly makes me sad, cause I really love the fic, phantom thieves is a favorite au of mine. There are barely any adults in this fandom, is mostly kids, so I wrote what I wanted to see, a fic with mature themes and adults with jobs and horrible coping mechanisms and smut, and a different kind of angst from the ones I usually see in terukane fics.

Kids shouldn't read it, that's obvious, I rated it the big bad lewd M and E so they can filter it or move past it. Minors are not dumb, being a pre teen is not the same as being a toddler, they have the capacity to go 'oh this isn't for me' and focus on something more suited for their tastes. If the idea of aged up makes them so uncomfortable they can't overlook it, that's okay, sorry about that, please block me, i am a firm believer you should block what makes you uncomfortable or just what makes you annoyed really, but if they must block me cause they are entitled enough to treat a creator as someone whose sole purpose is to make things they personally like, an accessory who 'always has to be family friendly cause I can't like a tainted creator uwu', or cause they are blindly following the current 'let's cancel X' trend, then please, go away, I reassure you I don't want to interact with you either.

I am still sad, of course, I had a Phantom Thieves prequel in the making covering the events where Akane got shot, and I was very excited to explore a few of Akane's problems, but I no longer feel motivated to write it at all...

I know Twitter runs on drama, people are eager to have someone to argue with, so I won't address it there unless it blows out of proportion. It should be a simple case of block and move on cause of personal preference.
