It's been about a year now, and I'm still not entirely over my devastating friend breakup.

Like, I guess I AM over it in the sense that I'm pretty much fine. I did my grieving (Read: cried my eyes out on the living room rug, downed a bottle of too expensive wine at a sushibar while sorting through the devastation with Husband and QPP, listened to Miley Cyrus' Wrecking Ball and wallowed in self pity until I got tired of myself, wrote a lot of cruel/angry/miserable/desperate tumblr posts that didn't make it out of my drafts, read The Friendship by Connie Palmen and Take Care Of Yourself by Sophie Calle, found a modicum of peace with the fact that I really felt more humiliated than sad, you know.) and I mostly no longer think about it. It's not really a thing in my life anymore.

....

But holy fuck. I'm NOT over it in the sense that accidentally coming across anything they made is still a recipe for Instant Physical Panic. Like, heart racing, nausea, the works.

It's just...

I can't fucking believe they wrecked me so bad that accidentally seeing their art or their fics or even their bloody username makes my body respond with such instantaneous threat response, almost 9 months later still.

There they are, completely and utterly unaffected, and there am I, having hypertension over seeing their art reblogged on somebody else's blog. It's like the humiliation just won't end.

And whatever can I do about it? Nothing, that's what.

Except this.

One of the reasons I originally gave them the ick was my "bad habit" of publicly processing all my feelings; guess I'm not escaping that allegation. Still. I'm lancing the boils of this grief, one by one. Better out in the open than festering inside.

Does starclan not know what wrentail was doing? Or do they know and know it could escalate so they're giving the clan a heads up on keeping an eye on mudpaw.

They don't have the full picture! Starclan's view of the mortal realm is very limited currently (I explain why in a few other posts), but they were able to see a little bit. The main issue, though, is that Wrentail is now there in the afterlife with them, and is all too ready to give his perspective on what happened and why.

Going off of Wrentail's account of the events, and judging Mudpaw mostly on the fact that he killed Wren, Starclan is operating under the assumption that Mudpaw is a danger to his clanmates. However, they aren't capable of communicating directly with the clan (outside of speaking to birchspeckle, but she isn't keen on telling anyone else what she knows right now). I go into more about Starclan and how it functions is this post!

Despite having a reputation of always being where the trouble is, he's actually a pretty calm, quiet person who usually stays out of action until he's pushed directly into it. Suffers from amnesia; his main drive is his intense desire to find new friends and family.

The other resident of Ramshackle dorm, who arrived in Twisted Wonderland during the interdom spelldrive tournament. An impulsive, energetic young girl who, although sweet, isn't above using some trickery to assure her survival in the strange new world she had found herself in. Quickly labeled as Night Raven College's little sister, she enjoys that status immensely. Like the Prefect, she suffers from amnesia.

Despite his gloomy way of dressing, Rosienne is a bubbly, flamboyant student, always willing to offer you advice or lend you a helping hand… no matter if you want it, or not. Obsessed with love and romance, he makes it his life's mission to help others find their soulmate - he's the face behind the infamous Love Advice column in the school's newspaper, where students can send anonymous letters asking for aid in their romantic endeavours. Some say he would be better suited to a dorm like Diasomnia, considering his loud rejection of Pomefiore's beauty standards.

A star of the Spelldrive team and an enjoyer of (what he thinks is) harmless chaos, Swallow considers himself a vigilante of Night Raven College. He proudly boasts about standing up for the poor and the bullied, and seems to target the more well-off students with his antics.

A friendly, sweet-faced student from Royal Sword Academy. While charming and always willing to help others, he often seems to be more focused on his own dream world than on what's happening around him, and he's famously cagey about his home life.

A fae of mysterious origins and Eliott's loyal vice-housewarden. A warm and friendly person who likes to act as a big sibling figure for the whole dorm. Despite that, they tend to come off as a bit eccentric, and their forgetfulness and childish demeanour don't make them seem the most trustworthy.

Duncan Lawrence ― twisted from the glass slipper (Cinderella) [COMING SOON]

A cold, proud boy who tends to keep his distance from others and doesn't seem to fit the Royal Sword Academy stereotype at the first glance. Hides a deep passion for writing fanfiction and an even deeper passion for ballet.

Allan Embers ― twisted from Cinderella's stepsisters [COMING SOON]

A first year at Pomefiore, who seems to be doing everything in his power to fit his dorm's stereotype. At every interschool meeting, he avoids his step-brother like a plague.

Meleana had a pretty normal childhood, being brought up by loving parents and being the eldest of 4 kids. She always looked after her younger siblings, being the designated "parent" for them whenever their actual parents were out (which was often, as their mother was working abroad and their father worked late to provide for all 5 siblings)

She graduated college with a Master of Finance (MFin or MSF) and soon got hired at Pony Express as the quartermaster and documentary specialist, working there a few cargo travels before Daisuke was added in last minute for one cargo trip

↪ Liezel Myra R. Katsaros (Mother) ; Mostly positive, despite not seeing her much in person due to her being an OFW. They call often, at least when Meleana is on earth. She writes to her while on cargo trips, saving the letters to mail later

↪ Elias Katsaros (Father) ; Same with her mother, but they're a little closer due to him being there physically for her all throughout her childhood

↪ Mariam R. Katsaros (Younger sister) ; Very positive, they're the closest out of all the siblings. Mari (as Meleana calls her) helps take care of Adonis and Althea whenever Meleana is off to work, and in return Meleana takes care of the twins whenever Mari gets busy with her own work on earth

↪ Adonis + Althea R. Katsaros (Twin siblings, youngest) ; Neutral positive, they get along well enough for siblings but the large age gap between them creates a small disconnect. "Now, what exactly is 'The Marvelous Mechanical Harlequin' AU?"

Well I'm glad you asked! The Marvelous Mechanical Harlequin, or "Harlequin AU" for short, is a grimdark sci-fantasy story about "Puppets", whom are soul-infused robots, trying to regain their lost humanity in a broken world.

It follows Pomni, a short-tempered Combat Harlequin, as she explores the city of Circuits with the aid of Caine, The Puppetmaster.

However, as the story progresses, Pomni not only realizes that there's more to the grand scheme of things as she explores more and more, she also uncovers The Puppetmaster's story, and what secrets he may be hiding.

"How do the boss fights go down in the story?"

Action-packed, fast paced, involves a lot of dying on Pomni's part.

Even though this is inspired by a Souls-like, the boss fights go down more so like a mixture between Cuphead, Shadow of the Colossus, and God of War (2018/Raganarok). Mostly God of War.

"Are there going to be canon ships in this AU?"

Yes! The AU is very Showtime (Caine x Pomni) centric, and some of the story aspects of the AU are heavily surrounded on that. There is a bit of Jesterdoll (Pomni x Ragatha) in it, too.

Aside from these canon ships, all is fair game. The Puppets don't have ages seeing as to how they are robots (and were already adults prior to their conversion), so the possibilities are endless.

"Can I make fanarts/fanfics/make original content for your AU?"

Go wild! The AU's rating is pretty mature, if it wasn't obvious already for it's grimdark genre.

However... I would like to ask that if you would like to make something dark even for my standards for this AU (i.e non-con or dark kinks), all I ask is that you don't show it to me. I personally do not like it, and do not vibe with it.

"What are your thoughts about NSFW surrounding the AU?"

Suggestive content and NSFW is allowed! I am an adult, and I personally enjoy them. (I think I'll make a blog for the more... spicy things.)

For you, it might be. The story leans heavily around Pomni and Caine's relationship as a whole, and I'm sorry. I'm just really soft about them.
