Final Blog Post

When I was but a wee little child, I used to do a lot of writing for forums on the internet.  This writing was not formal in any way, but it still had to communicate a specific message effectively.  I have found that I have been able to use the same blatantly informal, yet altogether coherent style of writing while writing in the Tumblrverse.  This form of writing would be epitomized by my last blog post when I wrote most of it in the southern equivalent of ebonics while making statements like “Anywho, back in’a day when (I) used to play fer the Dodgers” or “I ain’ no liar, I done measured it myself.”  If thats’s not an informal form of writing then I am not entirely sure what is.

This blog post writing comes in stark constrast with the formal academic writing that I performed throughout the semester for grades.  In that realm of writing, I had to make statements such as “The photograph was also taken while the flag had only been raised to a 45-degree angle so that it was moment when all of the soldiers had to be pushing and pulling the pole with all of their might to successfully raise the flag atop the black volcanic rock that their closest of friends and been mutilated, maimed, and killed struggling to take.” To me, not only is that qoute different in its stark formality but it is fundamentally constrasting with the earlier blog examples with its dark, serious tone in comparison to my blog’s often lighthearted, somewhat excited tone.

Keeping this blog has really just another gained me another tool that I can metaphorically place in literary toolbox that I have gained from practice throughout this fall semester.  It is also significant with how it has been a space for me to practice my informal writing skills, which I quite honestly use every day whereas I use my formal writing skills every couple days.

The FIVE Rule of Daya's Blog

1) No full/real names: anyone I mention, including myself will not have their full name. My name (Daya) is a nickname and is what I will probably always refer to myself as since its been my nickname for over 25 years. I respect anyone I talk about’s privacy as well which is why their name may change to protect the innocent. This is not a fiction blog so anything I do talk about is real but again privacy is a rarity that i respect and encourage even in a public forum. 

2) No Quid Pro Quo: If you think just because you followed me I’ll follow you you are mistaken. I don’t know your life. I don’t know your upbringing. Until we speak (via messages/comments) and I feel you are someone of substance who should be re-blogged I won’t do it. I respect bloggers and followers alike and I hope you can respect my stance on this. 

3) Questions: I’ll take em. I’ll answer what you want to know should you ask. I will do so most likely publicly unless you ask me not to in said question at which point I’ll respond privately. I reserve the right to use discretion and will report anyone who I feel is being abusive. Keep it clean(ish).

4) Pictures: I will post pictures of myself and my adventures. Unless specifically authorized they will typically be pictures of just myself or with strangers in the background. I will not post nude pictures of myself or anyone else. I will report anyone who tries to use my blog for the promotion of flesh. I’m not a prude I just don’t feel like I should have to show my junk or see yours. 

5) Be Nice: I won't go around putting my two cents in about your life assuming I know who you are and how you feel so please respect and reciprocate. I would love to make new friends and share experiences but if you're gonna be an asshole I'll be one right back and word on the street is I'm better at it than you.
