Macworld March 1999
The high-end desktop Mac received an iMac-like makeover, even as “Bondi blue” passed into history with the now-plural iMacs packaged in five fruit flavours. (A sixth flavour to match the six stripes now painted out of the Apple logo would presumably have risked all the connotations of “lemon,” or at least brought Bloom County’s Banana Junior 6000 to mind...) David Pogue’s back-page column in this issue did take on how uninformed and unenthusiastic CompUSA’s staff seemed about the Macintosh, even as enthusiastic volunteers took it on themselves to go into the stores and tidy up the desktops of the demonstration Macs.

Apple: iMac G3 Blue & White Power Studio Display (1998) Designed By: Jonathan Ive
Teased in 1997 Apple’s worldwide developer conference showcase show by Jonathan Ive & Phil Schiller. There’s also a slim version of the iMac G3 studio display that was never released.

in a similar vein to the non-verbal ghoulia discourse, there's a tiktok going around of someone swearing that g1 lagoona is canonically indigenous and g3 got rid of that
1. she is not, it's a harmless headcanon but it's not intended
2. lagoona can still be interpreted as indigenous-coded in g3, moreso than g1 imo, see: the episodes about the sea monster talisman (this person admits they haven't looked into g3 much; sounds awfully familiar)
3. this person said g3 lagoona is of spanish descent, which is untrue and ignorant as hell! she's honduran
4. the person saying all of these things is white, do with that what you will

First:
A FUCKING POSTER OF EVER AFTER HIGH AT THE BOTTOM OF THE SEA!!
Second:
All my life I thought these two were mute. I feel cheated 🙃
Third:
AAH THE LAGOONA FAMILY!!
I love how big it is.
There's something about the design of his marine family that I don't like. I feel like they didn't take much risk with them. I'm very sure it's the standard design for marine beings in the middle. But I guess it makes sense seeing Lagoona's appearance. (although I would have liked something more striking)

MacAddict May 1999
The lead article in this “blow-out issue” was a “bluffer’s handbook” offering various tips on how to pass yourself off as a “Mac genius.” That article closed with how to “defend your platform,” although cautioning you that since “adherents of Windows, Linux, and other operating systems are forced by the very nature of their labyrinthine platforms to pay close attention to technical details, we advise you not to take on these folks until you’ve honed your bluffing abilities on the easier prey of Macintosh users.”
