What are your initial thoughts on the newest Salmon Run stage "Bonerattle Arena?"
super fun to play on, the ink rails make for fun movement. it feels like an improved ark polaris (as in, they got rid of that horrible mid tide, which i honestly think wouldnt be as bad in s3 with egg throw but it did suck) .
i also like the bits of lore/worldbuilding we get from it too! from the speakers when the tide changes you can hear an announcer, really rare instance of hearing a salmonid speaking words instead of just the chirps and grunts you hear when fighting them. i think the only other instance of this is how the smallfry sings in ROTM.
bonerattle was mentioned to have been converted from a penal colony (i assume it was a salmonid place of exile...?). i want to say this is the first mention of an actual prison in the splatoon world. what crimes would you have to commit to have ended up there. or was it a penal colony from the inklings that was long abandoned, and the salmonids claimed the area?
partially submerged jail cells with graffiti inside? (this makes me think it was more likely a salmonid prison)
This is probably my favorite recent Salmon Run clip, but I need to disclaimer it.
My goal was distracting the swarm so my teammates could move some eggs that had piled up under the other ink rail. I do not advocate blindly using this (or the wall cling technique) for glowfly rounds.
Can you get pictures of the audience members at bonerattle? I think they’re just flat images with 2 frames each I would love just the images by themselves lol
It’s a well-designed stage that combines a couple of ideas they’ve done before:
It’s basically Spawning Grounds’ mid concept with the grates, but with Ark Polaris’ rails which VASTLY improve mobility in mid. And then low-tide is literally just Ark Polaris in concept.
I still want The Ruins of Ark Polaris back in SRNW though. I mean, I also want Lost Outpost, but there are actual reasons not to bring that back.
