My Old man's tale about benetint (product) & review:

in summer 2008 i was 14 & my best friend's family took me to Vegas w them. she had only just moved to my school for 9th grade & i hadn't met her older sister til this trip. She was 21 & soooo insanely beautiful like if barbie was a hollister model she had the look so refined in every sense, i was dazzled by her.

& she was so sweet to us, my friends parents went & did their own thing so the whole trip we spent with her but she wasn't annoyed about it at all she seemed content to hang w us & protect us from vile men along the strip.

On this trip i went to sephora for the first time. hadn't heard of it before. it had huge windows so everything was glowing from sunlight & it was sooo overwhelming. my friend's sister liked this brand benefit so i picked out a little starter kit that came w bad gal mascara, high beam highlighter, booing concealer, and benetint.. Let me tell you for the next year i cherished this kit like it elevated me a new level towards Prestiged Adult Woman status. but the makeup was noticeably nicer quality for sure! from my memory at least.

the thing i remember most was benetint cus i wore it soooo much for the rest of the summer & beyond, i stretched that tiny bottle as far as it wld go cus i luved it sm.. but after it ran out i never tried to use it again idk just being a teen moving onto the next thing. But lately i jst rly wanted a goood lip tiiiint cus i dont wanna b wearing lipstick or gloss all the time its too much i just want chapstick but i like a little more color too.. usually i wld use lip liner but it always felt like it wld smudge off so quick n its kinda drying.

so i tried benetint again bcus i remember it being so easy to put on n then just forget about, it didnt get on ur clothes or teeth or nothin. after wearing for a couple weeks i can say this is still tru! i rly like it, very convenient, chapstick goes gr8 over top so my lips r never dry from it. its kind of expensive but it lasts a long time , for me i dnt have much makeup rn so felt nice to get st i actually use ^^ the taste & smell of it are mildly rosey, rly brings me back to those times..

being in vegas those 4 days w my friend n her sis are definitely a core memory for me it was totally surreal. i wish i had photos still but no clue where to find them, my friend's fb account got hacked years ago n had to get deleted, so many photos gone </3 we stayed at treasure island & across the street was this huge mall that was repeatedly playing an ipod commercial with the song Shut Up & Let Me Go by the ting-tings, like... ON REPEAT, ALL DAY & ALL NIGHT, so that song gives me the wildest flashbacls like i'm literally There. In the august heat. i can smell it like. its amazing thank you advertising :)

this is not an ad btw i mean obviously LOL i honestly just got thinking so hard about vegas '08 after purchasing The Product. oh yeah there was thunderstorms too... i went to hot topic at the mall which was wild for me since they didnt have one any where near my town.. i got some shorts from hollister i remember, also a rarity. friends sis got me my first ever drink, a peach daquiri...just one <3 it was such a nice break from my woeful home life lol i wanted to live in america so bad after this xD

AAAANYWAY leeron, aside from generally boosting my self confidence/self love, also helped me come to terms w/ my particular gender and sexuality. i realized i identified wayyy more with the experience of liking men AS a man than i ever had with liking men as a woman. and that made me come to the realization that as much as i enjoy presenting femininity i dont really perform it the same way someone who identifies with their birth gender more might. so like its crazy how a fictional man made me real life realize things. the characters may be fictional but their effect on your mindset can be very real yanno. also he made me buy a puffer vest. that i never wear because it makes me overheat while bein cold in the rest of my body. but i have it. in my closet. i love him SOOOO much he brings out my freneticism :-) i dont talk enough about him on here anymore but i REALLY should he is still the Original skrunkly boo boo as far as this blog is concerned. (probably for sure not the ORIGINAL original skrunkly from way back but like. as far as my re-entry into the community he was the original. the smooth refresing taste of Original Flavor Blorbo)

so, scar goodtimes: (this is more of a character profile... a rly rambly one.)

his parents were... killed, and he is under suspicion for being the one to do it. i am unsure whether or not he actually killed them, but the alternative is that they killed themselves and then he got blamed for it. whatever. he doesnt particularly care that they died; they were assholes. so hes on the run, hopping countries whenever he can. he tries to stay in places the longest he can, but he can never stay too long as it gets unsafe + he gets paranoid. also he pissed off a SHITTON of people during his travels so hes also hiding from them. at some point tho he gets weary of always running, despite being scared of stopping, he says fuck it and tries to settle down someplace, even just for a bit. probably fuckin... germany or something? he IS technically supposed to be the asuka of this au.

so he settles down in say, gemany. tricks the government into giving him a new identity via the loophole of him being born right after the second impact, when the world was in SHAMBLES. he says that he never like, officially registered in the government databases due to the disarray and is only coming forth about it now. the government is like 'okay sus but sure'. mooostly cause hes a viable eva pilot i think. anygays he gets an identity, goes to school, is very Normal, but then he gets approached like 'hey do you want to pilot a giant mech? okay great you have no choice'. he wouldnt have said no either way; nerv being a government facility means that its safe. besides, hes curious.

so he becomes the second child, the pilot of eva unit02. he doesnt find it particularly great but its fine enough. he likes feeling like he actually has power for once in his life. he knows he doesnt, not really, but what matters is the feeling of it when it comes to these things, isnt it?

and if youre going like 'lime, his parents being mysteriously killed and him being on the run is a rly flimsy backstory', my answer to that is that i KNOW. but this is silly au and i can do what i want. all of this is subject to change hjksdfsnamd

also hes trans (because i said so). when he got a legal identity, they were like 'we are not going to call you scar'and he was like 'boo'. and then still went by scar.

hes been in a LOT of countries over the course of the course of his life, which means that hes picked up quite a few other languages. how can he trick convince people into letting him hitch a ride if they dont understand him! so hes a polyglot but like, a really bad one if that makes sense fsjdkfnds. id say hes fluent in english, german, japanese, which are the obligatory languages for this, but im sure he knows several more, even if hes not necessarily fluent.

his whole life, especially while his parents were alive but even after that, hes been told that hes worthless and that he wont ever really accomplish anything. how could anyone like him ever do anything with their life? so yeah, spite. hes decided that no, theyre wrong. even though hes never been in one consistent place for most of his life, hes always been determined to somehow prove them wrong. so that definitely plays into being one of the first eva pilots beside the whole safety thing.

hes... determined. but hes never had many close relationships, having always left before anything true could bloom (boom, the whole being on the run thing is a metaphor now as well cause hes running from himself too haha). he puts up a confident façade to hide the fact that he very much does not know what hes doing. hes trying to prove people wrong, that hes better than what they say, but he usually always leaves before he can do that, afraid of actually doing it. here, hes forced to actually stay. so even if he doesnt particularly want to (he does, he just doesnt want to acknowldge it because surely hes better than personal connections? surely theyre a weakness?), he becomes close friends with grian and mumbo and learns that yeah maybe he doesnt have to run. maybe he can stay put.

and thats it mostly!

btw idk why (actually thats. fully a lie the reason is that i was talking abt the show my sibling on eid and also mentioned it to chess the other day so it reminded me) but i started like. rewatching some of liv and maddie today? like its kinda funny bc both times talking abt it recently it was was abt how the best ship/couple in the show (live and holden <3) was ruined by the worst one (maddie and diggie boo boo tomatoes) so i decided to rewatch the first ep w live and holden bc that reminded me that oh yeah they where quite cute lol and then i j started rewatching the show from that point lol but then i stopped actually i was gonna say bc i got to the s2 finale that was rly focused on maddie and diggie and i kinda didnt care which is true but it was also bc i wanted to read the latest chapter of ur les mis fic <3 <3 which btw is SO GOOD OMGG like. even tho idk the characters (kinda i tihnk i am a point where i offically know r via friends blorbo osmosis but idk as much abt anyone else sorry<//3) i rly am like enjoying it sm and am like. v invested in the characters and their dynamics and stuff and i j feel likes its v well written yk. also a v little moment but i enjoyed the bit were R says he liked a book even though he hasnt read it but he did know a few moments from it and the general ideas ans things in it j bc it felt like a very You thing to include in smth (/pos !!) if that makes sense. prob bc u where a fan of the book this fanfiction in question was abt a while before u started actually reading it FGDFGDF also obsessed with the moment when right after he finds out that enjolras doesnt think sodomy is a sin r is like "please please can we. please" FHDFHDF also oughh the bit at the end where like. eponine tells r abt how she fell for marius after he ripped off a bit of his shirt to bandage her wound and then r doing that for enjolras ough... ik these r not my blorbos so i dont fully know the everything going on w them contect but it still rly got me i think prob bc u r a rly good writer mx... anyway this ask was abt liv and maddie at one point. but j like when i turned it off to read ur fic i no longer rly care 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽 FGFDHDF but actually tho i might end up watching more of liv and maddie tbh ill let u know.... i enjoyed it more than i thought i would rewatching it so !! or at least i enjoyed the liv and holden bits DFHDFHDF
