Everyone i have finally decided on my purchase ,meet Crunchy. Their a Dessert-breed Vanillite in the categories of Booza , Cone and topping .

I purchased them from A distributor of  Khanaán’s Booza’s.Co Whom trademarked name on the breed is “Pistachio Dream”. To be a bit more detailed Crunchy is Desert breed Vanillite able to synthesize A substance similar to vanilla Booza ( A stretchy frozen dairy dessert) , a crunchy crushed pistachio like substance and Pistachio flavored waffle cone like structure. I look forward to seeing how they’ll grow and what potential they might have in a battle or contest scenario. Also endless Booza win win .

I’ll be sticking around the breeding show for the next few days it’s here and see if I can show some of the more unique breed they have available. So if anyone was in interested in seeing or maybe purchasing A particular kind of vanillite let me know and I’ll see if I can find one for you.

Hob's Travel Binge 👀👀 DO TELL

“Hob’s Travel Binge” is what I affectionately call the monster that has taken over my life… It’s a wild mix between travel journal, character study, road-trip through life and love story (well, it’s Dreamling, duh).

It spans the gap years – 1989-2021 – and was supposed to be around 10k in four chapters when I came up with the outline at the end of August. As it now stands at 82k and is hopefully about two-thirds (?) done feel free to cackle at my foolishness (it’s what I do).

An early attempt at a summary reads:

After that gloomy night in 1989 Hob tries (and fails) not to miss his nameless friend.

He goes travelling and keeps coming back and builds a new inn in the process – and if he dreams a lot that's really no one's business.

It’s not a rescue fic, it’s solely Hob’s pov, and it will take you to random places around the world.

Among other things, I’m beating off a surprising amount of ocs with a stick – but they do whatever they want nonetheless –, Hob drinks way too much, and Dream is being uncooperative from the sidelines (he is allowed though, still stuck in the fishbowl and all that).

It’s total madness – and so much fun!

Here’s an excerpt from what I’m currently working at – Hob in the Middle East in 2008/09:

To reacquaint himself properly with ash-Sham he takes a walk through Al-Hamidiyah, stopping at Bakdash first, queuing for a bowl of booza covered in pistachios that he then savours in all its stretchy, chewy, icy glory while he ambles through the alleys, eyeing the stalls and smelling the spices. He circles the citadel and comes back around the ruins of the temple of Jupiter at the entrance of the souk where he buys some drinks and snacks before hailing one of the taxis waiting in the tohubohu near the mosque. The dented, squeaky Saipa almost gets swept away in Ummayad Square, in the madness of four, five, maybe six lanes, looping around the Damascene sword, but the driver – steering with one hand while he sips tea from a paper cup – joyfully explains how much easier it has become since the new traffic lights were installed.

Hob gets out at a picnic spot on Mount Qasioun, some Syrian families already lounging on cosy blankets surrounded by an abundance of food. They readily offer to share, letting him savour the taste of home-cooked cuisine as he tries to answer some simple questions in halting Arabic. As the sun sets he sits on a ledge, legs dangling, the whole city laid out at his feet. He opens the bottle of Almaza he brought, still somewhat cold, and sips his beer while the lights come up, the fluorescing green of the minarets outshining everything else. The call to prayer – dominated by the group of muezzins at Ummayad Mosque chanting in several part harmony – echoes wide and far over the expanse of the city limits, hauntingly reverberating in the warm night air.

Ah yes, the little rich boy.

Let's get this outta the way, but there isn't any ice cream this guy will be eating unless Jamil dives in to take a taste first. He's rich, probably prefer very complex tastes over something on the bland side of things, and if anything more of all I had a few ideas for him.

For one I present the idea of Jamil making a homemade coconut ice cream just for Kalim, knowing our little rich boy he would treasure it as if it was real gold and even share it with Jamil. We know how good of a chef our snake-y friend is so you know he can pull it off, plus with the problem of nothing being poisoned. But allow me to puzzle your mind with another ice cream, something more available to most.

Now let's say that in the Pop Music Club, Lilia had brought some sweet treats for the club. And thoses without a doubt, would be a 6 pack of klondike bars.

Right off the bat he comes from a very hot homeland to the luxury of taking time with ice cream isn't something he has, nor do I think he would want soupy ice cream. So he would want something quick and fast to eat, and I think he can trust a completely packaged grocery store pack of ice cream.

Kalim hits me as a finger food type, he doesn't mind getting a little messy and with a klondike bar I think it would just make him feel just as normal as the rest of his dear friends. Not to mention, he would like to share with Jamil I'm sure.

Alright- Let's get this straight, this man is somewhat in a Cater situation where I think he would prefer something spicy over sweets and this guy doesn't seem like he'd like normal ice cream as it would be a little to bland for his taste. Even more so than Kalim to a degree, so when figuring what I could do for him I actually did some research.

Going back to the Savanahclaw post were I consider things like Sorbet, or Gelatos to qualify in what I consider ice cream I did the same here in what Jamil would prefer for a sweet treat. Jamil is a very traditional individual, and is a high quality man in the art of cooking. So, how about some homemade Booza?

Booza from what I'm reading is an Eastern Mediterranean ice cream that happens to be made with a more stretchy and chewy texture, and it's considered to be made with an over 500-year old technique. It's like normal ice cream, but you can play with it! As for flavoring, I'm thinking it would Qashta which is basically a clotted cream.

They were listed at 447 W San Fernando Rd, Burbank under "Cement Contractors" in the 1922 Southwest Builder and Contractor (Volume 59, F. W. Dodge Company). In the same volume, we see that they were the builder of four 4-room dwellings at 4211-13 W Cumberland Ave for Mrs. Mary F Howe of 5311 Sunset Blvd. They also had a lien against Ida M. Randolph for a lot in the subdivision of Rancho Providencia and Scott Tract.

The best resource for this contracting firm is the "Burbank City Directory 1922" section of the San Fernando Valley City Directory 1922, with a very large number of classified listings in different related categories, including:

Contractors--Road

Engineers--Civil

Engineers--Consulting

Engineers--Municipal (this one was listed twice for some reason)

In the same directory were non-classified listings and included many people who worked for Galer & Beckner (the company itself was listed as Contractors and Engineers):

Fred G Beckner, married to Olive, lived at 629 Angeleno

John Booza, "lab" (maybe just 'laborer'?), lived in Glendale

L Ray Crum, cement worker

Arthur Esterbrook, foreman

John W Galer, married to Mabel, lived in Glendale

Emerson D Jones, "lab," lived in Los Angeles

Theo C Krigbaum, foreman, lived at Elizabeth Hotel

Jack C Truitt, truck driver, lived at Elizabeth Hotel

(Los Angeles Directory Company, 1922, accessed via the Los Angeles Public Library).

You'll see some say 447 W 2d and some say San Fernando Blvd. The illustrated ad above does "447 W. 2d (San Fernando Blvd.)" so I'm guessing we were in a transitional period here.

A fun section in the directory is the not very secret listing of "Secret Societies."

It seems like Beckner had also done surveying work on his own. Here are three examples from "US Department of the Interior Bureau of Land Management Field Notes of the Dependent Resurvey of a Portion of the West Boundary and a Portion of the Subdivisional Lines, the Subdivision of Sections 17 and 18, and the Metes-and-Bonds Survey of Certain National Park Service Tracts in Sections 17 and 18, Being a Portion of the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area Boundary, in Township 1 South, Range 18 West, of the San Bernardino Meridian in the State of California" <-- Wow that was a long title, the survey was 'executed by' Robert B. Fink and Richard S. Kaiser, cadastral surveyors, from January 24 - September 21, 1989.

In 1909, Beckner wrote an about about himself in the alumni magazine of the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity (Shield and Diamond, Volume 19).
