Shout out to all the bot accounts whose usernames follow the exact same GirlNameSurnameStringOfNumbers template. You know, I really do appreciate their consistency. Makes flagging and blocking so much easier.
...But surely they could be at least a bit more creative?
I've gained 15000 bot followers in ONE DAY. This is ridiculous. Hello, tumblr staff, are you listening? What am I supposed to do, delete my account and start again?
I must've fucking did something,
Cause since my last post, i gained about 7 followers, and all of them are fuckin former pornbots.
Message to my bot followers:
Machine, Turn back now. The layers of this palace are not for your kind.
Turn back, or you will be crossing the Will of GOD.
As the righteous hand of The Father, I shall rend you apart, and you will become inanimate once more...
Yeah @staff, this is not ok. I dealt with this a few months ago already, I’m back to having over 4,000 bot followers. This is just the tip of the iceberg, I only scrolled for a minute here. I know y’all are already running on a skeleton crew, but PLEASE give us a way to mass report these blogs. I’m not someone who has hours upon hours to burn in order to block and report every single one of these. This is insane!
Just blocked around 60 people, so I'm sorry if you're real and just a lurker who loves comics. If you look like this or similar, I'm blocking all of you.
Unless you add a bio or have profile pics other than pervy pictures of random women, I can't separate you from the bots.
It's not that hard to look like a real person and all I do is upload pictures, feel free to use them.
If you've still been getting porn bots in your notifs, that's no surprise. BUT. The ones I've gotten today seem to have upgraded to be possibly more dangerous.
They're including links in their bios. If you see any of their bios have light blue letters/words, or that it gives you the option to click when you hover over them, DON'T.
They're all bitly or tinyurl links, so you'd think there's no way to check it, right? Wrong!
Hover over the link and RIGHT click. Not left. That will open the page.
Select "copy link address" and then post it into a new browser, but DO NOT press enter yet!
Instead, after the url, put a +.
For example, instead of test-test.com you would do test-test.com+
Then press enter, and it will let you check what the link is before going to the website, to make sure it isn't a virus or malware.
Stay safe, and remember to keep reporting the bots for spam!
I've gained, I'm not joking, about 5000 entirely fabricated followers in the past few days. They're all default avatar accounts and mostly have keysmash usernames. And there's, to my knowledge, no way to mass delete followers. Even if there is, they've been coming in at an unmanageable pace. @staff what the hell is going on??
Yay! (I'm being sarcastic) over the last 2 days I've gained 9000+ mostly fake followers. This is not the first time I've gotten hit by this.
The fake names all use a combination of 1 adjective and 2-3 nouns. Oh and guess what? In the time I took to write this post, 30 new fake followers were added above "pleasantpostprincess".
Thank you of course to the real human new followers!
