i now have over 2,000 followers and like. i am never going to have the time or patience to go through and get rid of all the bots. and i feel seriously so.....i don't even know, uncomfortable, i guess? i just don't like it.

so like....idk. i think i might start a new blog altogether...? or maybe try out using a sideblog and see if that's good enough?

I've gained, I'm not joking, about 5000 entirely fabricated followers in the past few days. They're all default avatar accounts and mostly have keysmash usernames. And there's, to my knowledge, no way to mass delete followers. Even if there is, they've been coming in at an unmanageable pace. @staff what the hell is going on??

Come on, Tumblr... P*rn bot posts with a million unrelated tags are now coming up on my dash in "because you follow [this tag]" more than content related to the actual tag, and I'm tired of getting excited to see who DM'ed me, only to find a really inappropriate and barely coherent message from a bot.

The pain these bots cause me when I can't have a cool new mutual with this username. They sound like a funny gimmick blog who post frogs that look serious. Hell.

Tips for making your blog not get blocked on sight because people assume you’re a bot:

- change both your icon AND header. It doesn’t have to be you or anything personal, just not the default

- write at least one text post. It can be anything as long as it’s not keysmash/gibberish

- change your title or description!! Any blog that just has “untitled” at the top makes me block on sight

Blogs lacking any of these three changes look indistinguishable from bots. If I can’t tell whether you’re a bot or not, you get blocked. You don’t even have to post anything else, just make these changes and I promise you’ll stop getting blocked by everyone you follow
