Headcanon:

Otis doesn’t have a favourite colour… He simply likes every single colour that could possibly exist. Every shade, every variation and that’s why he wears so many of those cute, colourful shirts, because that way he gets to represent a different colour every day.

If someone he doesn’t really know/doesn’t care about, or someone he knows he won’t see again, asks him what his favourite colour is he just says blue. Basic, boring blue. But if someone he cares about asks, someone who he wants to know then he goes into detail about what he loves most about each colour. How, when it comes to suits, he prefers darker colours. But when it comes to his everyday shirts he prefers brighter, patterned shirts and he doesn’t care if they’re dorky or not, he loves them anyway.

I feel you can tell how Otis acted with kids on the show (especially Louie) that he really loved kids and wanted to be a dad. Like imagine Otis being such a girl dad oml

Otis 100% would be the best girl dad. So many feelings about this. We were robbed of dad Otis. But Here are some of my feelings

From the moment Josephine “Josie” Alina Zvonecek came kicking and screaming into the universe, he knew he was a goner. He couldn’t take his eyes of his perfect baby girl. He was mesmerized by the amount of dark hair already on her head. And Josie is definitely his little girl.

At a few hours old, she was placed on his chest for skin to skin contact bonding with her dad and he whispered to her “you are my sunshine” over and over again.

When Josie could finally have visitors, Uncle Joe was the first one to be invited to meet her. Joe Cruz cried when Otis handed him “his goddaughter Josephine.”

He will do whatever to make sure Josie is happy. He will let her put nail polish on him, put makeup on him. He’d dress up for her, play dolls, princess and pirates and whatever else Josie’s imagination could come up with.

He had lots of tea parties with her stuffies. Uncle Joe and Uncle Kelly were also often found at these tea parties where they all had to wear tiaras.

Josie starts experimenting with makeup as a preteen. She watches YouTube videos trying to teach herself how to do eyeliner. When she asked her dad if she could practice using eyeliner on him so she could get a steady hand, he looked at his little girl and said of course. He never wanted to disappoint his daughter.

Josie truly believes that her daddy’s love can heal anything. As a kid whenever she feel down, her dad would always kiss her boo boos better and then she say “all better” and get up and go play again. When she is sad she’ll cuddle up her dad and they’ll watch movies together.

When Josie went on her first date, Otis made her date pick her up from Firehouse 51. Where all of her honorary aunts and uncles were there in chairs in front of the house just waiting. Everyone was telling her how beautiful she looked when her date pulled up and saw the entire house outside. Her aunts and uncles gave her a big hug, asked if she needed money, while her dad was telling her date her curfew. After, Otis hugged his little girl right and reminded her to call if she needs something.

I have more feelings but I am tired.

1.0 RULES:

Request via ask.

Always include what type of request you want me to write.

Specify because specification is very important as it helps me make your request as pleasing as possible, but try not to be too specific as I like the element of surprise.

If you want me to write something from my prompt list (click here): include the name of said character, category of the prompt and the prompt’s respective number (e.g. Jay Halstead, fluff 7). 

1.1 Note: If you don't include what type of request it is that you want me to cook up, I will choose the type myself so don't come at me if you wanted a 2K worded piece of work and instead got an imagine with 200 words!

1.2 Note: Mixing the prompt with a plot line of your own is allowed, just make sure to follow the rules (1-3). 

1.5 THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND:

Unless asked for, I will be writing with the Female!reader in mind (I like to exclude any gender relation and make it so that both genders could read and enjoy).

I respond to asks when the request has been qued to post and released on Ao3.

The maximum number of request you can send is 2. I know there is an option to send them in anonymously, but I really hope you will stick to this rule. Give others a chance to submit their wishes, and don’t make the line too big with by mass requesting (I close requests after I get around 30 requests).

Requests sent during seasons I have not watched or for characters that have yet to make an appearance in the show will not be written (exceptions exist).

I write one-shots but not a whole series unless I can see/want a continuation.

Themed requests (Christmas, Valentine's Day, New Year etc.) can be only sent during that time. I don’t accept Christmas requests during the month of May. The same goes for the rest.

I have every right to delete every request that does not fit within the rules stated above, or I feel uncomfortable writing. Also, it’s important to note that I don’t have inspiration to write every request that’s sent. It’s normal to not have inspiration, and because I prefer quality to quantity, if I see that I don’t have inspiration for a request then I will not write it.

Requests will be deleted if sent while my request box is closed. I won’t answer them as I feel like there is no need. On almost every informative post (+my bio, and if you’re on PC my theme under ‘blog status’) it will say whether the request box is closed or not.

English is not my first language but without digging myself my own grave this early on I want to say that I'm proud of how much I know, given that I never speak English unless in school.

Be nice because only constructive criticism is allowed. If you spot a grammatical error or a paragraph/sentence/word etc. that doesn't make sense, let me know. But be nice!

How Brian Would React To You Wearing His Clothes

The first time he sees you wearing his clothes is the morning after you first get together. He wakes up early, wanting to make you breakfast while you sleep. He doesn’t know you’re approaching him until he feels your hands on his waist. That’s when he turns to see you wearing his shirt from the night before, he smiles, eyes gazing you up and down as he drinks all of you in. His smile grows slowly until it’s as wide as can be before he leans in, kisses you gently and whispers ‘I think that shirt looks better on you than it does me’.

From that moment on, anytime you ask for an article of his clothing to wear he happily gives it up. You end up with a drawer full of his t-shirts to wear at night and you always hate when it comes time to wash them as it removes the smell of him on the fabric. But luckily for you, you have plenty of spares and Brian’s always buying more… since you keep stealing them.

His favourite thing to see you wearing is his CFD t-shirts, getting to see the logo of the truck he drives on your body honestly turns him on quite a bit and you soon came to realise that as the next time the two of you slept together you made sure to keep the t-shirt on the whole time. And let’s just say it made the whole experience feel that much better.

Also his work gear?? The two of you have definitely fucked whilst wearing it, more than once and you take turns alternating as you love having him wearing it just as much as he loves seeing you wearing it… And there as definitely been a few times where you’ve gotten frisky in the firehouse, more specially the turnout room as it just adds to the experience.

Overall he’s a big fan of seeing you in his clothes and sometimes he purposely leaves articles of the in your apartment as he knows you’re easily tempted by them. Especially his hoodies as you always say they’re super comfy and make it feel like he’s there cuddling you, even when he’s off on his twenty-four shifts and you’re at home missing him.

How Brian Would React to Finding Out You Hadn’t Seen His Favourite Movie/TV Show

He would think you’re joking at first, maybe laugh it off but when you said you were serious he would stop instantly as he wouldn’t want it to seem like he was making fun of you. He would definitely be surprised though, but at the same time he’d kind of understand as he always did think he was dorky when it came to TV shows and movie choices so it never really came as an actual shock to him that others hadn’t seen it.

He’d then ask you if you wanted to watch it, preferably with him as that way he’d get to see your genuine reaction to it. But also because he secretly likes you and wants to spend time with you… And he always wants you to like his favourite things as he always was worried he wouldn’t have anything in common with you.

He’d have to hide his excitement when you agree to a movie night with him, one you are genuinely looking forward to as you know how passionate Otis gets about things he likes and you always found it really cute when he would ramble on about things… Which is why you made sure to ask him plenty of questions about what you were watching, as you couldn’t resist seeing the way his eyes lit up when he explained things.

After the movie/show was finished he’d ask for your thoughts and if you told him you liked it, he’d get all giddy and excited and start showing you any memorabilia he happened to have for that specific show… For example if you watched Battlestar he’d show you his Viper Helmet and even let you try it on, something he doesn’t let anyone do… not even Cruz.

If you didn’t really like it, or it wasn’t really your thing, he’s understand. He’d be disappointed, sure, but there’d be other things the two of you could bond over.

The movie night would then turn into a sleepover, during which you fall asleep on his couch and he covers you with a blanket. And when you wake up, you’re all embarrassed and fluster that you fell asleep but he just waves you off, telling you not to worry and then he simply asks you which movie you’d prefer to watch next.

How Brian Would React To You Asking Him Out on a Date Rather Than the Other Way Around

He thinks you’re joking at first as he can’t quite believe a woman like you would ask a guy like him out on a date. He laughs a little, maybe even glances around to see if you’re talking to someone else as he can’t bring himself to think you’re serious in asking him. But when you say you are, in fact, serious, he blushes.

His gaze falls from you as his eyes soften, his smile grows into the one you love so much. The one where he gets the little creases by his eyes and the dimples on his cheeks. He seems to forget that what you said was was question and so you end up having to ask him again.

His answer comes out immediately, although it’s a little stammered, and he said it so quickly that the words formed one big super word instead of a coherent sentence. He apologises, his heart doing somersaults when you chuckle a little before he replies properly. A yes, of course. He’d love to go out with you. You arrange a date, time and place to meet.

The entire time leading up to the date is spent with Brian being in the happiest mood ever. One so happy that those in the firehouse end up getting sick and tired of hearing him go on and on about “The Big Date” as he’s calling it. But really they’re just happy for him as they know how much he liked you and they’re thankful you asked him on a date as they knew he’d never have to courage to ask you himself.

When the date comes, Brian is so nervous he ends up needing a pep talk from both Cruz and Sylvie.
