How Jikook Found Me

Hi anyone who happens upon this!

**I'm going to preface this with the information that I don't know how to link stuff, embed etc, so hopefully my attempts to do so will work!!**

I've been thinking of doing a "how I discovered jikook" post forever, because I love coming across other's similar stories, and was inspired this morning by @jiminieloved post below:

We discovered jikook at pretty much exactly the same time, if in slightly different ways.

I first joined instagram around October 2019, after only being on facebook prior to that (I had started a twitter account at some point, but had never used it), and somehow the algorithm decided I would be interested in Larry Stylinson. I don't know why. I knew who One Direction were, but didn't really listen to them. I didn't know what a "ship" was, except for "Bennifer" and "Brangelina", and that's not even really the same thing, is it? Anyhoo- it turned out I was a bit of a Larry. They were adorable and what I saw was compelling at the time.

Then, of course, the algorithm started throwing in some other ships for my consideration, and along came the vmin ship videos.

I had no idea who they were at first. I had heard of BTS, vaguely recalled seeing them on some entertainment news program once, but (much to my chagrin, as I could have been listening to them earlier), hadn't paid attention. I'm embarrassed and a little ashamed to say I just remember they all had different coloured hair, were so impossibly pretty, and thought they were likely just a fad.

Don't hate me!! I would fight to the death for all 7 of them now!!!

But I digress! So, I thought vmin were so sweet. Nothing necessarily romantic there to my eyes, but I had an open mind about it, and I had never seen that kind of affection between males. I ate it up. I'm a 50 year old female (46 at the time), and from Canada, and this was so outside my personal experience. I adopted them into my heart. I watched everything I could find on instagram.

And then some stray jikook content started sliding in.

And I got worried. What about my vmin babies? Was my mischievous little V ( I didn't know him as Tae Tae yet) going to get his heart hurt? Of course, I was seeing stuff that had already happened years before in most cases, but all very new and "real time" to my heart, that was slowly turning a vivid purple without my knowledge 💜. But what I was seeing in jikook was quickly becoming undeniable in my eyes.

And I was blown away. My heart remembered what it was like to believe the stories I read and watched in romantic books and movies when I was young. I had decided that was all just the stuff of fiction, and that maybe I was a fool to have believed in it. But no- these two young Korean men were putting Mr. Darcy and Miss Elizabeth to shame! In real life!! I had to slide over to YouTube. I had to start searching stuff like "the way Jungkook looks at Jimin":

And I was able to reconcile vmin and jikook for what I believe it is- no animosity, no competition (at least romantically) because it's two different kinds of love, both just as real. Not that I don't see moments in the content where I think our Tae Tae felt left out, but our babies (all seven of them) had all lived together and done everything together for so long, I think their relationships are not like anything most of us will ever experience or be able to fit into any tidy relationship categories. They are so much more than that.

Then I started wanting to watch original content, so I joined WeVerse and VLive. And then of course, as will happen, I fell in love with all 7 of our amazing, hard working, passionate, talented, brave, fun, impressive young men. I will love and support them until they are old men (or at least much older, as I won't be around as long as I fervently hope they will).

There is more, of course. So much more, but I've run out of steam for today! I do want to say that I joined tumblr because of jikook, as well. I first discovered @dalloga through the Korean Perspective video (they haven't been active for a little bit, but it's worth it to go read their blog, for those who haven't), and then @stormblessed95, and went further down the proverbial rabbit hole from there.

Girl meets autism???

It’s the middle of the night and I can’t sleep and I need to talk about this.

So lately I’ve been rewatching girl meets world and by “rewatching” I mean I let it play on my laptop at night when I’m falling asleep so really I’m not actually watching a whole lot of it. But I’ve just remembered the autism episode and need to to talk about it because it was so….I don’t even know what words to use here if I’m being honest so I’m just going to go point by point.

Why did they act like it something that they needed to cure??? That part catches me off guard every time; especially when Maya GRABS HIS ARM AND TRIED TO PULL HIM TOWARDS THE DOOR. Like did she think that they were gonna go to pharmacy and get antibiotics to cure is autism or something??

Why were they so shocked that he had autism. Like it was really obvious to me from the very beginning. So the way they were all like “but you can’t be autistic???? You’re just quirky???” And when Maya was like “let’s tell them you’re not” I think that part is funny in an ironic way because usually it’s the other way around when someone says “you can’t be autistic because you don’t *insert autism stereotype here*” whereas from my perspective, farkle is the most classically autistic teen boy that is portrayed in the media.

Do you guys remember that one tiktok audio that was like “I’m not autistic! I’m just a bit silly! And I cry when my socks are right…but that’s unrelated” I feel like that basically sums up the dialogue of this episode

They were ALL losing their marbles over farkle being autistic which made no sense to me because from my perspective Riley is definitely also autistic but it presents in her very differently than it presents in farkle and I always found them both to be very relatable. I’m a little bit confused about why they never made that connection especially after isadora told everyone that she’s also autistic and has been diagnosed for a long time.

On the topic of isadora- it made me so sad how she told farkle that she would accept him for who he was and that it was okay that he was autistic and she was so happy to finally have someone to relate to but then his friends somehow convinced him that he shouldn’t do that??? Like by the end of the episode they were all like “we think it’s okay that you’re autistic but just don’t act autistic” (this is paraphrased btw) which I’m pretty sure was meant to be them being accepting and open minded but really they were all being terrible friends.

Isadora was always the butt of the joke in every episode she was in and they were always so rude to her for no reason and I feel like they often went out of their way to single her out and this got worse in a way after the autism episode. Like generally speaking they were always so ableist towards her and I would probably classify their attitude towards her as bullying because they didn’t really ever have any actual reason to hate her.

I also would like to note real quick that in the show they used the word Asperger’s instead of autism during most of the episode but I’m saying autism because Asperger’s is outdated and also named after a….very bad guy… Also I feel like there probably weren’t any autistic people consulted on the making of this episode.

I saw your post where you spoke about the 911's cast and writers being aware of Buddie, and the explicit support from some of the cast for Canon!Buddie.

I am quite new to the fandom and so I was wondering if there were any links you could source for this? I am genuinely curious :)

Funnily enough, I started 911 after loving LS, and saw a lot of buddie content on 911 blogs. I figured it was typical queerbaiting (tumblr 2012 era was ✨️ traumatising ✨️ and so resolved not to ship them.

But then I watched the show and yeah…there were definitely interesting choices made that make Buddie such an intricately beautiful ship. It's a slow burn to rival all slow burns :fire:

Okay, for links... TBH I mostly remember things as they happen, I'm less into saving links, but for you I made the effort, I traced my own steps (who knew I actually remembered where I yelled about certain things two and a half years ago? The power of Buddie), and found the source to the stuff I had in mind when I said Ryan, Oliver, JLH and Gavin have all shown support for Buddie. Her we go...

Let's start with Gavin! Obviously it was explained to him in age-appropriate terms, so take that into account, but still, look at how pure his response is (interview from Oct 2021):

Now Oliver and Ryan have both expressed support for Buddie more than once, for example you can find my post showing how they were the ones who named our ship! In terms of official interviews, they've mostly given answers that are noncommittal but supportive, stuff along the lines of making sure they don't raise fans' expectations (in case it doesn't happen), but also letting us know they do like the enthusiasm for Buddie, and would be cool if 911 went that way. So most are kind of... let's say diplomatic. I will, however, throw in this live that Ryan did where at first, he had a few answers of that vanilla sort (encouraging the shippers, not promising anything, leaving room for Buddie to happen, but also leaving room for fans who don't want Buddie, and sort off summarizing with, "We'll see what Tim writes"). But then he got a question about Abby and I don't think he could help it, the Buddie shipper just jumped out of him, which I love. Sugar.

It was the simplest cake you've ever made, so why didn't it work this time? Did you maybe forget to put in the baking powder? Did mammon forget to put in the melted butter?

Let's go to the root of it all.

"Eh? 40 minutes waiting? Why?", Mammon asked as you weighed 400 gramms of wheat semolina.

"Because the buttermilk and the wheat need to be left swelling in order for the cake to go up when it's put in the oven.", you explained as you took half a litre of the buttermilk and mixed it with the wheat into a dough, and you then put a plate on the bowl in order to keep it protected from flies or something like that.

Mammon furrowed his brows in confusion. "Are you sure 150 gramms of sugar will be sweet enough for the cake?", he asked as he replayed the video to see if it really said that.

You shrugged your shoulders. "it's best to stick to the receipt, no?"

"Hm...I still don't know if it'll be sweet enough..."

"well, it's actually preserved for when you drink tea, you know?"

"Huh, Satan would love that. I hope Beel doesn't eat the dough though." "Me too, but I thought he only ate tasty stuff?"

Mammon gave you an unnerving smile. "he...he once ate a remote and mistook it for food...and when he realized that...he didn't give a shit and ate it up...nothing is safe near him."

You nodded in understanding. "Well, if we can bake this cake here, thent we can bake dozens for Beel. I'm sure he'd love that! Also, the cakes always make me feel full!", you exclaimed happily as you then weighed the 350 gramms of flour and mixed it with the sugar.

Some of the flour got into Mammon's face and you couldn't help but giggle at his face. He grinned before blowing some into your face. You two goofed around a bit before turning serious. But, whenever one person looked at the other, it ended in a laughing fit because none of you guys wanted to wipe away the flour, just to make the other one laugh.

You added a tablespoon of baking powder to it before leaving the dry mixture alone as well, and you ordered Mammon to take out the butter from the refrigerator and also four eggs.

"My mother always told me that it'd be best to let the eggs cool down. Whenever I'm making a biscuit cake, I always take the eggs out the day prior in order for the cake to become fluffier, and it actually really helps!", you rambled ahead as Mammon listened to you intently. He liked that you were so chatty with him.

He loved the fact that literally none of the brothers were there to interrupt your time with him. Lucifer, Levithan, Satan and Belphie were doing their thing, were the eldest was doing paperwork, the third eldest playing games, Satan reading yet another interesting book and Belphie just sleeping.

Beel was out with his friends to do some sports, and Asmo was out to go shopping.

"Really? Maybe I shoulda show ya a receipt as well sometimes, ____!"

"You know how to bake cakes?"

At that, Mammon stopped as he averted his eyes, rubbing his neck sheepishly. "No...but when I use a baking video as help--you know?"

You nodded reassuringly. "Of course! The first ten times I bakes that cake, I was never sure with the weight-numbers, so it's safer with help than without it!"

Mammon sighed in relief that you didn't bully or tease him for it.

After you cut off some from the butter to have it weighing 200 gramms, you put the rest of the butter into the refrigerator and left the eggs next to it.

"Now, we just have to wait for half an hour.", you spoke and cleaned some utensils, with Mammon watching you.

Mammon felt like there was something you two didn't consider, but he didn't know what. And as the minutes passed where he was on his phone, and you looking at his phone, the feeling intensified.

...

"Okay, 40 minutes are over, let's melt the butter now!", you cheered happily, and Mammon took out a pan and heated it up. You cut the butter in pieces to have them melt faster, and ordered Mammon to whisk the cracked eggs before adding them to the flour and sugar, which were mixed with the table spoon of baking powder.

He did as you told him, and he was glad that he didn't mess anything up. Soon enough, you told him to add the dough (wheat and buttermilk) to the mix, and he also mixed that before you let the butter in the bowl and told Mammon to step aside as you worked on the oily dough.

"Please heat up the oven, Mammon.", you said softly, and he complied. You then looked at the baking forms in thought.

"Rectangular or round?", you asked, eyeing the forms. Mammon shrugged as he turned to you. "Which form did you use?"

"Round."

"Then let's use the round one."

And with Mammon's help, you managed to put baking paper underneath the form before he closed the edge, trapping the paper in between and you spluttered the dough into the form.

After pressing it down evenly everywhere, mammon quickly opened the oven for you to put the form with the dough in and closed it again.

Then he voiced out his concern. "You know, ____...I think we are forgetting something...", he spoke, and you looked at him confused.

"Huh? And what would that be? Did we forget the baking powder?"

Mammon shook his head in thought. "No...the pack is opened and the spoon has some of the powder still in it, so we did use it...but I can't help but get a bad feeling from this...", he muttered, scratching his white hair in frustration.

You looked at the ingredients in thought. They started looking weird to you. then it dawned to you. You looked at mammon.

"Are...are the ingredients like the ones from the human world...?", you asked.

Mammon's eyes widened. He sucked in a breath. "That was it!...but...I -....I actually have no idea..."

that meant you two would have to wait and see the results.

...

"Heh, we made it.", Mammon spoke proudly as he looked at the cake, already drooling at it's nice smell and the shining light brown crust. You were still skeptical though.

"Let's taste it first.", you spoke before you cut off a small piece and gave it to Mammon. He bit it, blushing as you spoonfed him, but then he frowned at you.

"What?", you asked as you took a bite yourself before wincing. "Sugar.", you winced.

"I told you so. We should've put in more sugar.", he grumbled, but you only laughed. "C'mon, we can drink tea with sugar, it'll be alright."

Then you looked up at him with a sweet smile. "It was nice baking with you, Mammon."

The boy blushed at your words and stammered something back.

"N-no problem! A-a-and if you have some free time...some other day...I would--I'd like to bake one of my favourite cakes with you too...!"

"I'd love that."

Jonsa Parallel: Stirring Jon Into Action - one that reiterates who Jon was protecting in 8x06

In 6x04, we get a scene where Jon is about to embark on a journey to head South after what happened in 6x03 (and his murder):

(sorry I couldn't find the scene on YouTube to link; HBO is coming hard for GoT clips all of a sudden, so far purely Targaryen/Dany/Jon-centric)

He's done. "My watch has ended." He tells Edd he'll go South and get warm. Despite Edd mentioning the NK (which we know that Jon has been laser-focused on since HardHome, why he let the Wildlings past the Wall, and then got murdered for it), Jon has made up his mind. He's leaving and that's that.

But then we hear the horn and the call to open the gate. Sure enough, we see this in the next shot (after Jon with Edd behind him):

Sansa is shown first as the doors slowly open, then Brienne and then Podrick. We see Jon's reaction to her arrival and the interaction between them after that. Even though Jon has no interest in fighting Ramsay or anyone really, he is sure of one thing: he's not letting Sansa (the only family left to him that he knows of at this point) out of his sight. He makes that clear with the dialogue from the fireplace scene.

Then they get Ramsay's letter. Even then, as horrified as he is by what Ramsay has told them about Rickon and sees Sansa's own horror, he still seems hesitant to do what needs to be done. Especially when hearing outnumbered they're most likely going to be. It's only when Sansa grabs his hand and tells him they need to save Rickon and Winterfell, that she gets him to listen, that he finally agrees. Which leads to him (and Sansa) amassing an army to fight the NK.

Make no mistake, it's Sansa who stirs him into action. Not Edd, not Davos, not Tormund, and certainly not Melisandre. Even after hearing the threat Ramsay posed to Rickon, to Winterfell (and the North by extension), to the Wildlings, etc.

He is given a new purpose so naturally this scene:

Is soon replaced by this scene:

And Edd is there to see Jon switch to his new role/purpose:

This is Jon going into his new arc. And what propelled him into it? Sansa.

Then we have 8x06:

No matter what Tyrion mentions (including being the shield that guards the realms of men), the people, Tyrion himself, Jon himself, even Arya (in conjunction with Sansa), Jon is not prepared to take action. Even after the KL massacre where a million innocent people were burned alive for no reason. Even after Arya warned him about himself (and Sansa). It's only when Tyrion says that Sansa won't have a choice, that Jon is then gotten through to. It's when Dany confirms that those who oppose her won't have a choice, that he then knows what it means "for those he loves most". It's Sansa again that stirs him into action. And we get:

It's Sansa who gets him to act, that has him taking on the two threats to her (and Westeros), and Ramsay who was an immediate threat to her. And it was even Sansa who got Ned to act (choosing to confess his treason & dishonor himself), to make the same choice in 1x09 that Jon did in 8x06.

And bonus:

Does Jon's reaction to first seeing it was Sansa look familiar?

Not to mention they have the obvious callback to "forgive me" which Jon doesn't answer here explicitly (because 1) it's unfinished/open-ended between them & 2) he needed to get Bran's confirmation here that he did the right thing). And of course the hug:

Second, def keep on watching when you have the time as things like domaineExpansions and other words are explained in the show itself as well! To help you get a better understanding, I've linked some short (1-3) minute videos that explain several concepts in the show quite well!

Domain expansion explaination from the fandom jjk wiki:

"Domain Expansion is the most supreme technique of any jujutsu user. It is achieved by expanding one's innate domain with cursed energy while using a barrier to construct it inside a separate space. The caster then imbues their cursed technique within the barrier to complete the expansion, allowing them to deploy their ability all throughout the domain.

A specific hand sign or signal unique to the user is required to expand someone's respective domain. From the outside, a domain's barrier is normally completely closed, making it appear as a floating black sphere that can even be moved slightly if needed."

I promise it makes more sense if you continue watching, in fact (mini spoiler) 3-4 characters are going perform an expansion in season 1!

And lastly, here are some things I think you should know:

-If you ever get attached to any of the characters (or if you already are), make sure to script some sort of specific safety for them (you'll find out why soon😭)

- know and plan out your technique or that you're at least op, so you never really have to worry about the curses as some of them are REALLY strong, even the ones that seem harmless

-if you're a student, 100% script in that Gojo/the others teach you well: throughout the series I had the feeling a lot of the stuff that happened could have turned out differently/ better if the kids knew a lot more 😭

- straight up avoid the zenin family in your DR tbh (besides Maki and Mai ofc) they are...interesting. (Again, you'll understand watching more of the anime/reading the manga)

- sometimes (esp in season 1) the episodes may seem a bit boring (atleast for me) but it gets better as it goes on and season 2 had me instantly hooked in every single episode!

-make sure to watch the Jujutsu Kaisen 0 movie AFTER the season 1 finale!

- watch the episodes in season 1 till the end. They always have some fun sort of skit and an amazing outro as well😋

- and of course, have your fun with the story and characters! Neither the story nor the fandom is perfect, but I'd still recommend it for anyone to give it a try and go with your own flow!

Oh also RapeLay videos are on Sankaku, btw. I'm sure Lily stans will say it's a coincidence but it sure is wild that the hentai site "EbaraTara" was on also happens to have the exact rape-centric video game Lily later explicitly put up an image of.

This all went down back in April. I think you were taking a break from this blog back then? But the other blogs probably have the screenshot if you don't want to go look at Lily's videos, so maybe ask them.

......I shouldn't be surprised at Lily's absolute arrogance and stupidity, yet she manages to keep surprising me.

Back for this continuing review, my friends! While already covered the first parter back in Jan. 26th, I’m still catching up to do by installing my Switch system alongside my Joy-Cons. Before of doing that though, I wanted to make sure my Switch system needs cleaning and dusting. Which we’re in for today’s continuing review. However expect this one will be the final before moving to other items I’m eager to share.

Here you can see I’ve two different wipes, a dust absorber, a cloth, and a screen protector onto my Switch for cleaning. There were came from the box after opening, BTW. Anyways, I handle well with the cleaning, wiping, and picking dust that I know what these are use for. At least I took about few minutes before moving to install the screen protector next.

Now for the next one, I’ve been carefully to install a screen protector on my Switch system. It’s a good thing I did just a bit right, but got it fit nonetheless. Though I recommend some stickers and an alignment frame tool for extra help. At least if I had the alignment frame tool for my Switch system, but I haven’t. 😅

⬆️ 17th through 19th Image Nevertheless, at least now I’m moving on to placing the dockable case shorty afterwards. I started on the back where I needed to be careful of installing. Thankfully as always, it fit right in where I took some time of showing off. Though I would’ve prefer changing the color for my dockable case than this, but probably next time. Regardless, it does stand out as I expected; especially for the material as I holding with my hands. I’ll get to that for later.

⬆️ 20th through 23rd Images

I’m now doing with my Joy-Cons that needed covering, but hold on. You may asking “are these new Joy-Cons instead of my original Joy-Cons? The gray ones?” Well ever since my original Joy-Cons had been worn out a bit; especially the last time where I show off the R button from the right sided Joy-Con. ➡️ Link Here

Not only that, It also came with an issue of stick drift which is unfortunate. Though I know I should get it fix by watching some tutorial videos like VK’s YouTube Channel if learning right. (Don’t know of fixing the R button, though) Nevertheless, I asked my mom to buy me second set of Joy-Cons; which happened back in April. 13th, 2021. That’s my story of it, but hoping to expect as I going through this review and saving my new Joy-Cons test later soon. 

Anyways, back to setting up my new Joy-Cons to cover up; which I have when placing from bottom to top. Though I had to switch up from top to bottom, but at least fits right up as well. Just making sure it doesn’t have some scratches for each Joy-Cons. On the plus side, it’s what I’m hoping for so I don’t leave out any smudge stuff when holding my hands. Mostly my right sided Joy-Con when I’m pressing the A button for example.

And now it’s finally completed! All secure with a screen protector upfront. As I picked up with my hands, it felt smooth due to the materials of my dockable case. I looked up that it made with "shock-absorbent and anti-scratch PC" material. Sounds promising, right? I'll see if it can hold up until I'll get a new case soon. This time, I’m picking a theme like blue or the Super Mario themed case.

Not done with this review though, I have a set of joy-con thumb grips/caps to pick on. There are ten total of caps in two each: red, blue, black, and purple with paws. The difference between four black caps is smaller while the other was a bit big; though at least not way too big. If I had to pick though is going with red and blue for each joy-cons. Does make sense of having both new controllers I’m having. However how well protective for each controlling sticks on top? They’re pretty alright that it made in different material. I tested out when pressing and moving them; especially in games like Super Smash Bros Ultimate. Very appreciate of using the caps so far, but I’m okay with the red and blue ones.

My Overall Thoughts:  After owning one of last year’s Christmas gifts, the dockable case and other accessories is something I’m hoping for. These includes a screen protector right after cleaning and ten total thumb grips/caps. The main item itself though was good too. It’s made with "shock-absorbent and anti-scratch PC", but felt smooth when holding both hands as to playing games in handheld mode. Do hope this holds longer as it should and to everyone can get one of those. If you had your Nintendo Switches that is. My mom ordered from Amazon.com, BTW. ⬇️

I don't know if you've seen the new pic Kibum posted, but if you're online I'm sure you've seen the drama about it now...

I don't get it though, usually Key will say himself when he posts something if it shouldn't be shared, so I wonder if even he didn't see a problem with it at first? Why is one picture such a problem? Is Taemin not allowed to exist in public while enlisted?

This isn't a dig at Baekhyun cause I'm glad he was able to do these things, but didn't he have youtube videos coming out while enlisted? And I know he was all over his verified twitter all the time? How is just one picture different than that? Is it cause of the platform? Even though its not Taemin's bubble and he makes no money from it? Would their be so much drama if it had been posted to instastories?

I saw people saying there were articles, but there were articles written when Taemin went to Keys show?

I dunno where I'm getting with this, other than enlistment is confusing, I hope Key and Taemin in particular are okay, and I can't wait for this overlong awful enlistment to be over...

I have Bubble so I received the scolding directly via text! That was a shocker, lol. I'll give you my unvarnished opinion on this but as a warning, I'm going to be brutally honest about all of it. You're asking completely legit questions here.

The situation is nuanced, and I think for a lot of fans just the idea that they did something Kibum didn't like and felt the need to tell everyone off about was enough to either upset them or make them scared and 'fall in line." I deleted the posts I made and then I reflected because I never share Bubble content. But this time I made an exception — why did I do that? Because EVERYONE did.

So this is my opinion (don't take it as gospel because I have no access to anyone's thoughts). I think Key misjudged the reaction to that photo and how berserk everyone would go. He sees Taemin all the time; we haven't seen his entire face since his birthday in 2022 (lol). And, we've had virtually no communication from him in almost two years. "We" went nuts. Can anyone blame us? No. But Bubble is a paid service, and Kibum always reminds us not to share his shit. I never share anyone's shit publicly anyhow, but again it was ubiquitous, so I joined in. See the problem?

He had every right to get mad and remind of his boundaries and Bubble policy (there are financial penalties you can face for sharing stuff too btw). I also think he probably felt remorse over sending it in the first place since he likely misjudged what would happen. Is it all about breaking Bubble policy? No. And I don't think it's all about him being annoyed at fans breaking his trust either.

Baekhyun did have a personal YouTube account that he setup himself to use to communicate with fans during enlistment. It's my understanding he did this as a way to keep in touch without it having any links to promo/work. But, do you remember how he had to delete it all, and then he came online to tell us it's okay etc? I think that SM caught wind of extra scrutiny on people doing civil service enlistment, and it was a precaution. I also think this is why they've cooled it on Taemari, and it could be one of many reasons why Taemin stopped doing any posts at all. I'm not saying it's THE reason, but I think it's likely a factor.

There is a lot of criticism of celebrities who do civil service enlistment, and that criticism was present before the investigation involving Ravi and others came to light. People have been criticizing the option for years, saying it's how celebrities get out of doing "actual" service (let's put aside arguments about why that's wrong/insane, etc). Instead, put yourself in Taemin's shoes. He started service one way and is finishing it another. Wouldn't you want to avoid public ire and scrutiny over how you're spending your time in enlistment, ie. "living it up" etc. In my opinion, that's the worry over the photo being everywhere and now in news articles.

Why is the concert different? He went with Lee Soo-Man on the non-Beyond Live day as a private citizen, he kept his face covered the entire time—he even dressed low key. I have the same shirt that he wore (lol, imagine my surprise) except it's the branded version. He wore the non-branded version. Though he did have a Prada bag so maybe my argument falls apart but it wasn't like, in your face, was it? Anyhow, I hope you'll see my point. When he went to that soccer game, Jimin and Sungwoon were also there but they were in a fancy box. He did not sit in the box - he was just with the regulars in the stands. It wouldn't look so good to be in a fancy private box when you're supposed to be serving in the military, would it?

When Minho served, whenever he called Taemin he said he could never show his face. He was allowed to call him on VLives (or comment, lol) but he said specifically he can't show his face. They even argued about it. To bring this full circle, Bubble is a paid promotional, parasocial service. Even though for Kibum, sharing the photo is "private," it's still part of his work as an idol. So technically Taemin was in paid content. Is it a big deal? I really don't think it is (also is he definitely not discharged already?! o.O) so no one should feel sad or bad or whatever. Next time anyone shares anything on Bubble, I know it won't get shared. That's just how the fans roll. There's a level of respect here that is a breath of fresh air tbh.

Why is Baekhyun on Twitter whenever he wants but we don't hear from Taemin often? Personal choice. And that's a choice to be respected. It's not our business unless he chooses to share. Existential perspectives aside, we're part of "work" and the man is not in work nor getting paid for it right now, so he doesn't need to do shit. lol.

I think family channels [channels in this case includes [but isn't limited to]: YouTube, Tiktok, twitch, instagram, etc] where the kids are under age should be illegal. [Or at the very least a lot more laws about it]

Like it's so dangerous. If it's an occasional "Haha, look at this cute video of us/cute pic" [personally even that is :// to me, but I know in those cases its normally just sharing] that's one thing, but accounts dedicated to your children ??

Like how do you not realize posting all your kids interests, when they were born, y'alls location, if they're homeschooled/go to public school, the park y'all go to, their full name, when/where y'all go on vacations, etc etc IS SO FUCKING UNSAFE ???? Like internet 101.

& maybe you're reading this & you're like "I don't share my exact location 🙄/the family channel I follow has never said their location" but w/ the right skills [or knowing the right people] you can easily find where somewhere is ? Like there's this dude [& no hate to him he seems cool**] who's literally known for seeing a sign or grass & getting almost near exact to where that place is w/o more info [& I assume he spent ages learning all that stuff, but my point is, it's possible] ? In the comments OP says her parents only stopped when one of her siblings tried to commit suicide, as well as saying she would give up all her money to feel safe, because she's constantly paranoid & feels like she's being watched. OP also said: "I truly believe no changes will be made until a child is killed as a result of their parents over sharing online. It shouldn’t have to get to that point" which... I agree. I think people online can yell as much as possible, but until a kid is actually kidnapped &/or killed due to this, I don't think platform's, let alone governments, will care.

3 - What work are you most proud of (regardless of kudos/hits)?

That I wrote and published this year, The Mouse’s Tale. It was pretty out of my comfort zone, in terms of writing style and structure, and I’m really happy with the result. Same for Brandish the Needle, Sing a Lullaby, now that I think about it (while the flashbacks mixed in with the present time was similar to Trickster’s 20th chapter, but while in Trickster the focus is more on the flashbacks and the present just provides some kinda extra context to Tricky’s mindscape at the moment, in Brandish the Needle, it’s the opposite; the flashbacks are there for extra context for the present time and it feels like they directly affect each other, in some way, while in Trickster, it has more of a dissociating feeling; what was my point again? Oh, yeah, Brandish the Needle was out of my comfort zone because this was the first time I wrote about someone else’s AU and you know firsthand what a nervous wrack that made me, lol) but Mouse’s Tale took it a step ahead by being from an omniscient POV.

That I brought to and finish it this year: Trickster. I mean– just *gestures vaguely*. I still don’t even know how to put it into words. Just– it’s completed! It’s sitting there in my works with the little green check! After +100k words, 54 chapters, more than a 1 year, and three different therapists, it’s completed. Not sure if I’ll ever be over that. Oh, I’m in the process of reading it in full for the first time since completing it, btw, so, yeah, there’s that.

10 - What work was the quickest to write?

Not sure? I reread my drafts so many times and like to edit things so much that it’s hard for me to estimate how much time I take to write things.

OK, just went through my oneshots and remembered the existence of A Bad Ending, that Ib AU drabble. That was very easy and quick to write since it’s just Marinette “waking up” into the gallery and describing the place’s general feel as well as the Hanged Man painting.

27 - What do you listen to while writing?

I have a YouTube playlist called Sensory Heaven, where I put in all songs that sound good in my ear (here’s the link), and if I wanna some background while writing, I’ll split the screen with YouTube and put this playlist on shuffle. I also started using Spotify more often (so that I can get a wrapped next year, lol) and am doing basically the same thing with the favoriting feature. For pieces that were explicitly inspired by music, though, I’ll put the specific song on loop. Trickster and Symphony of Lights have their own playlists, though, which I alternated between playing their specific playlists or just using Sensory Heaven.

Oh! And when I don’t feel like listening to music, but still wanna a background noise, I’ll put on one of Markplier’s videos to play (preferably, one I watched so many times already that I won’t mind not being able to pay attention).

KIDS - MGMT

Released as a the fifth track of American indie-rock band MGMT's album "Oracular Spectacular".

I know this song from The Axis of Awesome's "4 Chords" on where they sing many popular songs that feature the same four chords. MGMT's Kids "vi - IV - I - V" progression can also be found in songs like Toto's "Africa", The Smashing Pumpkins' "Bullet With Butterfly Wings", Avril Lavigne's "Complicated", The Offspring's "You're Gonna Go Far Kid", Bon Jovi's "It's My Life", Lady Gaga's "Poker Face" and Aqua's "Barbie Girl".

In this very exact video btw, they sing the apparently common misheard lyric "Enjoy yourself", the actual lyric goes "Control yourself."

Now that we're talking about lyrics, this song is about nostalgia ofc, more simpler times as a child, the glorious day; and then about how when one grows up, they lose their innocense, fun gets deprioritized and they have to blend into the ways of adult society; the struggle is an inpending threat. Yet, still, one must try to mantain that love for live that they had as a kid.

An earlier version of the track can be found in their 2005 EP "Time to Pretend".

The official video for the song was produced and released on 2009, yet before that, on January 2008 some University of South California student uploaded to YouTube a video made for an assigmentment in which his fellow friends Abby and Rafel appeared face-painted and lip-syncing to the song with some clips of people dancing thrown in it. It became widely popular as it has over 52 million views today. And we can see in the comments how many people thought for a while this was the official video and those two friends were the members of MGMT. Abby and Rafael btw were actually contacted, invited and appeared in the official music video for MGMT's "Electric Feel".

Now in the actual official music video, there's an intro scene with fire behind where we see a Mark Twain quote... that he actually never said and it's Nietzsche's actually; there's a beautiful orchestral rendition of the song playing and we can hear some radio communication from the Apollo 11 mission.

If you have seen the music video already, you probably were worried about its protagonist: a baby who through the video is scared and frightened into crying and sobbing in absolute fear by clawy and nightmarish monsters that surround his crib; and later outside by humans who for the baby, they look like bloody mutilated monsters.

At the end, the music video switches from live-action to an amazing surreal animation sequence animated by Christy Karacas (Fast flashing colours warning for this part).

So of course many people got upset by the apparent trauma-inducing experience that this baby actor (named Zachary) got, but the band claims that no one was harmed and there's a behind-the-scenes video where we see the baby happily playing with the monsters. I watched the video and my concern switched from the baby to that band member who's making out with the a dog, what the fuck. So yeah, apparently the baby was crying cuz he was hungry, and his mom (his actual mom, not the uncaring one we see in the music video) made sure he befriended all the monsters first.

Zachary was 18 months old at the time of recording, so he's like 15 or 16 right now. Crazy to think about and I do wonder what he thinks of the video, he probably has watched it himself already by this point.

The song is included in the FIFA 09 soundtrack. There was some legal battle with the president of France for using the song and offering the band a single euro. It also appears in the documentary Tapped. Soulwax remixed the song and through Soulwax remixes I discovered Arcade Fire.

So your fear of hospitals makes a couple issues come to light. #1 being that he is a doctor

BUT BUT BUT he is the best with comforting your fear due to this. He gets a lot of patients like you so he knows his way around. Not his first rodeo kinda thing

But with you he’s super touchy affectionate. Will hold your hand as you walk into the hospital, knows most of the other people working there and they for sure know about you

Won’t mind if you cling onto him. Cracks a lot of little jokes to get you to relax and laugh a little

Brings your favourite snack as well for when you’re waiting 

Also books and little comfort items 

His voice is super soft and loving when he talks to you.

He knows most of the people working and is super friendly. Refreshing sight

Some of the doctors joke back with him and the nurses are all super nice to you

He knows you aren’t gonna get over your fear with one visit, but if it’s a good visit it can help 

And after hospital visits he ALWAYS takes you to go get something sweet (ice cream, your favourite candy, slushies (he always gets blue raspberry. Loves the bright colour). No matter how late

Same vein he helps calm you down a bit more with your favourite movie/show. Will even play a video game if you ask (terrified of a lot of horror games. Shrieks at every jumpscare) 

He doesn’t coddle you per say (as much as he wants to he knows that’s not what you need) but is always there for you

He sees you freaking out a little he’ll take your hand or link your pinkies in silent comfort 

Also goes to get you water and an ice cube to suck on to help distract you :]

Super understanding. Doesn’t like hospitals on a good day either. Avoids them when he can

Your fear is a bit more crippling and they’re always by your side when you two do go

Brings a snake plush since Faust can’t come (as much as she wants to)

Also brings a tablet to watch things on in the waiting room. You two share earbuds and are all hunched over one another watching YouTube or a movie

Always touching you in some way. Holds your hand, presses their shoulder to yours, hand on your shoulder, back etc

Brings snacks as well. Sometimes he even makes them. He made snake cookies to go with the snake plush and pretended the cookies were real snakes to play with the plush. 

Snake plush kisses! Presses the head of the snake to your cheek to make you giggle

When you leave the hospital he waits to see if you’re doing okay while the car starts up 

If it’s before a meal they take you out to eat as a treat :]

Soft kisses when you are okay as well. Runs his hands through your hair, presses butterfly kisses against your cheek, his lips are v soft and there to kiss. The best comfort (oh and he is very aware of this)

Brings stress toys for you to mess with to help keep your mind off things

Once he brought nail polish and let you paint his nails while you waited 

Really good at offering a distraction when you wait 

Also really good at calming nervous. He has those good vibes

Sometimes the two of you will find an empty corner of chairs and sprawl out and talk while waiting 

Hugs you when you walk out of the hospital and to their car. Rocks your bodies back and forth like a penguin waddle (the snake plush around your shoulders of course)

Hospitals exhaust him as well, so he usually drags you to take a nap on the couch or on your bed. I’m talking he flops over still holding your hand and takes you with him.

And OMG, I did not expect so many a cappella goodies! Can’t believe they sang “Secret Game”!! One of my all-time faves!! “Maze” was pretty good too. And then we got “Ship of Fools” TWICE, the second version with Keiko in charge of the higher harmonies. What a treat! It sounded amazing. “I reach for the sun” was absolutely lovely as well, I had no idea she liked this song so much.

"Live Stream"

Good evening. Even though the announcement for the live stream was rather sudden, it seems like many people were able watch it, so I'm really glad I did it ♡ Thank you everyone. Since it is just before the release of my 2nd album and many people are reaching out to me to wish me a happy birthday so with this event I wanted to convey my feelings to everyone. When I was thinking about a perfect way to do that, Yuri-Yuri (Yuriko Kaida) suddenly told me that she wanted to swing by to celebrate together with me, at first I thought she was kidding but then we quickly made plans on the spot. Back then I was thinking "ahhhh, to have Yuri-Yuri as a guest would be so nice *laughs* (〃ω〃)”  and I kinda ended up saying it out loud and that’s how the whole thing happened *laughs*

Dream also did not seem to mourn the cat much, shrugging it off with a "just more motivation to break out".

it was killed to hurt dream, not to "annoy him". it doesn't matter who it belonged to, c!dream was attached to it and it died, which had an effect on him and also further proved his point about attachments being weakness and caring getting you hurt, and it's still very sad.

you say that it was not ok at all to kill mooshroom henry, but the cat's death wasn't ok either, so i really don't see your point.

also, it isn't true he didn't mourn it. he is a very reserved person who doesn't show his feelings much, that's true, but the cat death still changed the way he acted afterwards, as well as the attempts he made to prevent it. he didn't "shrug it off", he yelled about it because he was understandably upset.

You mentioned that propganda was used to make dream seem like a tyrant, could you specify a bjt? Cus im a little confused srry /gen. Because the most i can remember from the lmanburg era at least is him being called a b'tch or other similar insults. You also mentioned how trauma responses can be differet which is true! I agree! Do you have any ideas to what caused dream the trauma?

i also said in my previous post what could've possibly caused it, but since the character intentionally hides his emotions from the public, it would be difficult to see how things really affected him - which is why the way his spiral went is the majority of the evidence that would imply it, however it does make sense within the story as well with what i mentioned last time.

I would like to note that for sapnap at least had reason to leave dream. Some examples off the top of my head are dream leading an angry fundy to sapnap's pets on purpose, resulting in some deaths, dream assisting tommy in burning down sapnap's effiel tower where he got engaged to karl, and dream giving tommy either mars or the other fish at the battle of the lake. Idk about george tho other then the whole mexican lmanburg/el rapids thing and decrowning him

c!sapnap was actually at fault for most of this, and it wasn't really ever betrayal on c!dream's part.

c!dream is a mediator and he wants to stop everyone's conflict - c!fundy was angry because of c!sapnap's actions, and hence it made more sense for c!dream to centre him on c!sapnap's animals instead of running around killing everyone's pets (at that time, all c!dream knew was c!sapnap did something really bad and c!fundy wanted beckerson / mars from him, which were also his and c!george's fish).

c!sapnap was an instigator, and in multiple conflicts during the time as well as before he'd align himself against c!dream. he isn't "loyal" per se, he causes chaos and the reason c!dream helped c!tommy was because, c!sapnap, again, killed his pet. the first l'manberg war and then the 16th are signs of the fact that c!dream and c!sapnap were willing to fight together in actual war, but these small conflicts where c!sapnap continuously picked fights weren't about personal loyalty, nor did they seem to affect their relationship at all.

c!george was never really hurt by c!dream either. the dethronement was him very obviously being a guilt-trippy drama queen, but, well, that's just the character. he had stolen the l'mantree while he was supposed to be the diplomatic figure of the greater smp, which is why c!dream was justified in - very politely, may i mention - taking the duties off of him (seeing as he was also trying to keep him safe and c!techno had already assassinated him once).

Im pretty sure i remember cc!sam stating that his character never canonically physically tortured dream during his subathon but take this with a grain of salt as i am looking for the clip currently. So to the best of my knowledge dream did not have a physical contact trigger during tommy's visit which! I rewatched the vod and dream actually was first to hit tommy and i can give you my full writing downs but 10/12 of the phy-

i am 95% sure that the reason cc!sam stated this was because people were suspicious he had already been doing what c!quackity was doing after - torture within the storyline itself is associated pretty much only with what c!quackity is doing, so that's what he meant, just to clear up confusion - the starvation or terrible conditions haven't been retconned, but it was direct torture (like c!quackity is doing) people were asking him about.

i never said c!dream had a physical contact trigger at all, i don't think he had that, though he probably will after the torture.

huh, ok, i'm gonna have to rewatch then, but i remember c!tommy punching c!dream a lot and him just telling him to stop and only punching back to get him to stop. trigger or not, getting hit isn't very pleasant, if you know what i mean.

You mentioned tommy stealing dream's armor unprovoked. Do you have the vod or a general idea of the time so i can find it? Like before lmanburg after another event so and so because if you do not have it i can find it but any help is appreciated.

I wanna talk a little on why the Final Control Room was so messed up. For starters, with the way the room was designed. It was small, and had labeled, empty chests with each person's name on them as a mockery. The next reason is that its bascially a kill box.

It's fairly inescapble with the stairs being ones you have to jump up, slowing anyone who climbs them down. The final reason it is messed up is that it is shown to have caused every person who died in it trauma. With tommy there are several examples, the time he saw it with techno, the way he refuses to go near it, the exposure trauma, etc. Fundy also appears to have trauma, as when the Red Banquet executions began, it can be seen as him being afraid of dying last again.

It can Be thought as tubbo having trauma because he buries most of his issues and pretends to be ok. Moreover this event took at least one of each person's canon lives, making it the most canon lives lost EVER in a dream smp event. (This is not hate on any of the ccs btw i loved this scene and its one of my personal favorites). Plus the fact Eret's betrayal just literally happened, giving at least Tommy and Wilbur canonic trust issues.

i wouldn't call the chests mockery? it was a trap. people had traps on the smp before. it was a trap in the middle of war, supposed to end said war by killing them all at once rather than individually which would be a lot more bloody and difficult.

i agree c!tommy and other people might have post-war trauma, especially if they were young during the time, but i think that's because the final control room was "messed up", moreso because the war itself was. it all happened fairly instantly as well? i don't think c!fundy would be able to realize he was the last one standing within the two second before he wasn't.

it "can be thought" and it can be interpreted like that but besides c!tommy there isn't much evidence for them "all" being traumatized by the final control room. of course betrayal would spark trust issues, i understand that.

The probation was humiliating in my opinion because dream was Sending tommy anatgonizing messages through out the whole meeting, plus he had to write a review of his day every single day, which fundy mocked him for.

i mean, it was definitely a strike to his pride, but he was being extremely uncooperative so i don't really blame the other members of new l'manberg trying to teach him to listen for once? of course i know c!dream was riling him up, and that should definitely be considered. i don't think it would be as humiliating if c!tommy didn't make it, is what i'm saying.

for the tommy being toxic to fundy? At least for the examples you gave, to me personally they come acoross as either in a meta way being the cc's bantering or in canon being the characters having banter. If you can send the post with the clips so i can read the tone better that would be cool but if not i will try and find em.

no, these were all in canon. canon isn't only when c!tommy is being nice, it's also when he's being a jerk. /lh

the first one was him threatening c!fundy about kicking him out of l'manberg and undermining his self-worth, and the second one was him trying to get c!sapnap to vote for them via bullying c!fundy.

i found these from a transcript focusing on c!fundy's character, so i don't know exactly where the first one is from, but the second one i am pretty sure is from when the elections were starting with the whole cabinet battle deal and all of that.

there are other instances, and all of them are canon. his personality was never being nice or compassionate, so i'm not really surprised? he still cares about the people he cares about and is very brave, y'know. but this part of his personality is definitely a valid reason for people to dislike him.

Curious anon here one point you may wanna include in the redemption essay is that c!tubbo or c!tommy do not necessarily have to forgive him. What's important is that he recognizes what he did was wrong (exile, beating tommy to death, manipulating them both, etc) and does his best to make amends. Hope this helps! sure thing! i don't know what you mean by often-confused since, the entire fanbase is very confused always, and often selection bias plays into the perception from both sides, but sure :]

you also sent in a thing for the other anon who said they didn't know what c!dream did that bad; pretty sure they couldn't really be alerted since, not sure if they watch my blog that closely, but i'll summarize your points just in case and add some notes;

the repeated blowing up of l'manberg (in my mind that's largely a positive since i,, despise that country, but fair enough), revealed c!ranboo as a traitor (they seem to be friends so i also,, think that might've been planned between him and enderboo), sent ghostbur away (i don't think c!dream knew it was dangerous for him and wanted to actually hurt him, but idk), participated in fighting against c!sapnap when he killed people's pets (that's only negative against c!sapnap and didn't seem to hurt him much at all), and then the whole vault scene where he was allegedly planning to steal people's things (though saying he would & being stopped beforehand and doing it are two different things, frankly).

so i still agree with the other anon that a lot of the hurt he did "to the entire server" (he only negatively interacted with like,, a half of them) is exaggerated both by the characters and the fandom, but i guess that's a consequence of most people seeing him as a threat to everyone's happiness rather than a complex personality.

Also he was aware of the butcher army going to kill techno but only got involved because he saw an opportunity to get a favor. (As he knew in advance due to him telling techno to get a totem, watching from afar instead of interveing or manipulating tubbo out of it)

i don't understand this at all, i'm sorry. how do you know he only helped techno in order to get a favor? last i remember he was only doing it to protect and strengthen his alliance, and techno came up with the whole favor thing entirely on his own. you might've not watched techno's perspective or their prior interactions, idk, but this really is a misinterpretation in my eyes. /nm
