"To create an exciting retail environment for Warner Bros.' new store on the Great White Way, designers incorporated bright colors, excitement and entertainment that mimics Times Square itself. A dramatic glass window wall soars six stories above the street, providing unbroken views of the shopping floors within. Separate red, blue and green color environments are visible through the building's glass-and-steel facade. Hard-to-miss 3D neon signs featuring popular Looney Tune characters are placed on the wall by the escalator, and vintage neon and accent lighting highlight the "New York New York" shop."

Strange Strange (Hairy and also Lanky) Little Girls

These Apterostigma ants are really strange girls. I mean REALLY strange. They live under leaves rather like weaver ants, but they build a nest of fungi ... like leaf cutter ants... but they don't cut leaves-- they hide their nests with bits of bark.

No other ants are like this. Amazing. This one is called by the species name "electropilosum" look at her and you can see why.

These ants move very slowly, gently tending their little farms. Just lanky hairy girls trying to make it in the jungle. You gotta love them. There are a nice collection of these ants on iNaturalist.

Some of them do seem to use leaves in their fungus, others do not. They are also on the larger size, towering over smaller ants in many photos.

Their nests are made of the fungi they eat and unlike anything else I know that ants might build.

Does any other creature make a house out of edible fungi? What if you could just eat things from the walls of your house? These ants are so advanced. I thought paper making ants were wild!

has the huge gigantic emperor crab that became that really big building in ald'ruhn been talked about, extensively or not, by someone?? kind of intrigued by morrowind, or i guess, vvardenfell's prehistoric colossal wildlife and how it might've been, and perhaps how the earliest chimer might've had contact with them? tho that seems unlikely.

or maybe they were remnants of when bal was the chief of the dreughs who ran the world like tyrants? idk, it's all very interesting to me. if that's the case were they just. really large animals that share a lot of characteristics to the similarly crustacean/arthropodic land dreughs? or are their relations similar to that of a senche-raht and the other bipedal khajiit furstocks?

and then just. like the entire process of how those buildings came to be like. the entirety of it. how did the redorans do it. i guess the why can be answered a bit by how they tend to use bones and carapace more than the other houses, i.e. the bonemold armor. and they do claim that they killed those huge bug things in the past but like. how long ago was that? i guess it is possible for veloth's people to have seen these huge bugs. maybe not the colossal emperor crab but the smaller ones that became the more common buildings.

Design for animals!

I'd love to design a house that's meant to host ants and bees in the walls. Parts of the built-in nest boxes would have little observational windows.

A wall in the kitchen would be set up for food composting, with the compost acting as insulation until it can be processed into soil for the garden...

Design buildings with animal integration. Things will live in the walls, why not plan for the things you want in the walls?
