As someone scared of needles, is going on T worth it? I love the after pics of transmen on T, but I am very phobic of needles.

Should also note I’m older, so seeing the Stan twins being trans and living their best life gives me hope, but still fearful or transitioning after thirty.

I would say so.

Personally I am pretty squeamish. I almost passed out at the clinic when they took my blood just to measure it before they prescribed me T, and the first shot I ever did I nearly passed out again. But after that things got easier. These days I get through my shots by lining things up and then closing my eyes so I dont have to watch the needle go in, and that helps me a lot. A lot of people have said to me that they were able to get used to giving themselves the shot, and that its a lot different from watching someone else do or get a shot. So you might find your phobia get less and less in the way.

But even if you dont, you could look into other means of absorbing the testosterone. Depending on whats available to you, you might be able to use gel that you just rub into your skin every day, or skin patches. (Though they tend to be more expensive). Some people think they work less than/slower the shots, but my boyfriend does the gel and he's had a lot more rapid changes than I have. Needles are not the only way!
