He's the nephew of a powerful queen (in their region at least) who currently has sent him out on a quest to gather all the chaos emeralds and bring them home to finally defeat a rival kingdom that's gone too far. He doesn't talk much, he doesn't emote much, but he cares about his home and family more than anything and nothing will stop him from saving them. He has the ability to summon weapons and shields with his bare hands (one item at a time) and makes platforms to walk on with his paws.

Nyx , Nocturnal camp kid who just seriously can't win at life but he's not losing completely either.

Mortimer, Taxidermy camp kid who has the perfect homelife yet is comedically, deeply into death and other dark things.

My Unrequested Opinion on One Piece Island Collection.

hello i'm back! i've reviewed the other set of characters song the one piece franchise made (One Piece 47 Cruise). i recommend you go check it out before reading this one. check it out here. (both )

Ok, you ready? Let's start! Today, I'm reviewing One Piece Island Song Collection (2017) each song revisits the vsrious islands we encountered during the serie. from what i understood, these characters songs are related to OP's 20th anniversary.

01. MONKEY D. LUFFY (DAWN ISLAND)

First i wanna say that the musically and quality is already better. Instead of the typical "Goofy" aspect of Luffy's personality, they went for something more mature but it almost feels "out of character". It feels like i'm listening the VA singin and not Luffy (if you catch my drift?). Maybe, i'm asking too much... (a little bit a change wont kill honestly) Decent. as long as it's not Wa Wa wa worldo then i'm good It's a good start.

02. COBY (GOAT ISLAND)

I know he's not the first male character to be voiced by a women but it almost sound akward (at least to me since i've only heard his voice in flim RED). i'm not gonna come after the english pronounctiation... The songs feels like Coby is singing the outro to his own show. It's not my cup of tea but it's actually not bad.

03. ZORO (SHELLS TOWN)

i just wants to get this out way; I have a negative bias against Zoro in the singing/musical department but let's see for this song... Bro got lost and is now a Koroko no Basket protagonist (of any shonen for that matter). To be fair, the song is good. also the VA voice seems to... (im not sure how to say it), it seems that he uses a lot of voice to stay in character which affects his singing at times, it's not that bad but noticeable which is unfortunate for this good intrumental track.

04. BUGGY D. CLOWN (ORGAN ISLANDS)

I understand Buggy is a clown but gotta slow down on the circus theme stuff, i was excepting sometihing different (props to the VA btw). Not to be mean, they could get somebody else than Buggy. Anyway... WTF is this track. The bazooka drum sequel... it's not good. Musically decent for a moment and then go doodoo. Bro is just yelling. Who wrote that?! WE NEED TO TALK ASAP.

Unpopular Opinion: I preferred Buggy's Cherry Bomb. (i never tought i would EVER say this)

05. USSOP (GECKO ISLANDS)

An overall more emotional and chill track. Great musicality and voice.

I coulndt stop laughing, his 2 first sentences in the song sounds like Destiny's Child - Independent Women pt.1 chorus or maybe i'm trippin but still hilarious to me.

06. SANJI (BARATIE)

I hope they fix the issues they had with his previous song... AND THEY DID. I genuinely like this song. a slower song fits more his voice. Great musically, voice control (the VA sing well). I was kinda surprised, to be honest, and fits Sanji's character more.

07. NAMI (CONOMI ISLANDS)

A POP SONG... YES! Her voice is amazing. Sounds like a 2000s-2010s Anime intro. Nothing to say aside from REALLY GOOD.

08. SMOKER & TASHIGI (LOGUETOWN)

WHO THOUGHT PUTTING THESE TWO TOGETHER WAS A GOOD IDEA?!? The instrumental is good and Tashigi could have sang the entire song by herself without being interrpted by Smoker's lung cancer voice. The voice different is so... dissonant it's MAJORLY taking away from the song, enough for me not clicking on the replay button.

09. VIVI & IGARAM (CACTUS ISLAND)

i welcome to the stage, the one & only, the golden witch, Beatrice!

Jokes aside, i don't have any particular feelings oh wait... it's forgettable and definitely sits on the lower tier of this character song collection.

10. MR.3 & MISS GOLDENWEEK (LITTLE GARDEN)

No hate cause i know the VA in extra talent and the musicality is not bad (according to generic anime rock rules). the only way i could see this being given a pass is if you're a Bellamy fan.

Overall Quality (8/10) WOW! One Piece really came through with these character songs. it's really a huge improvement since One Piece Nippon Judan! 47 Cruise CD by lowering the number of title tracks. they have SIGNIFICANTLY improved the music and its quality in EVERY aspect (musicality, vocals, production, etc.). MAny times, They offered us nuances in the character's expression instead of going for its ''stereotyped/default emotions'' or way of acting. There is something for every taste so all One Piece fans can eat. Even my least favorites are based on preferences and are STill well-produced. This smaller series of song to me give more justice to the franchise of One Piece, can't wait for the Charlotte Family Special Album...

Spinability (6/10) (Can i spin this? Would i listen to it again?) ok here comes the issue, it may be shoking for a song collection having such a high score but if im being honest only few songs (among those i consider decent or good) will succeed to win a replay button. It doesnt take away from how good the songs are btw its just my personal opinion. I'm saying this also basing myself on other characters songs and how i would rank their spinability.

Today’s date: June 22nd, 2021 (eleven days until Ace returns)

I love video games, but I don’t think I ever talk about them here! Here are some of my favorites and why I like then <3

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild: ohhohohoh I could talk about this game for AGES. It’s so fun. I mostly love this game for the open world and the secrets. You can literally go anywhere and find something to do. It’s so diverse and so beautiful and aaa!!! And to this day I still learn new tricks and tips for the game, despite the fact it’s been out for years now. Fun fact: I beat all the shrines, completed the map, collected all the medallions, beat Gannon and all the blights, yet still have around 50% map completion! Why? BECAUSE THERE’S NINE H U N D E R E D KOROKS. I have like 550. I should probably go back and collect the rest of them some day.

The Legend of Zelda: Age of Calamity: It’s BOTW, but its a hack n slash! I like to play it and feel like an absolute unit taking down all those enemies. And there’s a happy ending so :) (I won’t say what happens cause spoilers but I actually really liked the twist? It would have been cool for events to play out 1:1 but also really sad. And because time travel was already introduced, staying on canon wouldn’t have made too much sense anyways. Plus, Sidon my beloved :D ). I have like 70% percent completion in this game for some reason. I actually can get it to 100% so I absolutely will be doing that.

Pokken Tournament: It’s Pokemon! But you actually get to FIGHT! It feels like battling in the anime, and it’s just so fun. I haven’t played in so long though, I should get back into it! I used to main Suicune, but now I main Decidueye. Lucario is a good backup, too. Oh, and it looks super realistic, too! They really went all-out with the detail in the models and particle effects.

Genshin Impact: I have this on mobile. It’s super fun, despite the fact I have not played since the Windblume festival! It’s really similar to BOTW in the travel mechanics and open world, but there is a lot more story within it. It’s such a beautiful game, too. Remind me to post some screenshots I took when I get back! I decided to go explore the world instead of actually doing quests, so I have a full map and every teleport waypoint at like. Level 20. I don’t actually know if I was supposed to do that or not.

Sky: Children of the Light: This is exactly my niche video game interest. Beautiful open world, focus on exploration, guiding spirits home, lore that only unfolds as you traverse (the most important of which only after you beat the game), and a focus on friendship. It’s a little buggy since it’s still in development (I think it is, at least), but it’s easily one of my favorite games. Highly highly recommend.

Pokemon Shuffle: Ok so this one is kinda random but I just want to brag a little? It’s some super random Pokémon Candy Crash-esque game that I was super obsessed with in eighth grade. I haven’t played in forever, but I am on level 416. I think I earned some bragging rights there.

Mario Kart: I am a god at Mario Kart, at least when I play with friends. Me and my bestie were playing Mario Kart 8 together recently, but her sister left with two races left. I played two people at once and didn’t even get last place. I think I got like 5th and 7th? Not bad. It’s actually pretty fun, would recommend as a challenge!

Animal Crossing: New Horizons: Animal Crossing my beloved <3 My island is absolute trash but I just love how peaceful it all is. It’s so relaxing. I also have this one villager named Jeremiah, he’s a frog and I would do literally anything for him. He’s just so cute I love him. I also have a cow named Tipper and a penguin named Roald and a goat named Nan and I just. Aaaa they’re so sweet.

i adore the basic. idk if you plan on changing it, but you don't need to. basic oilslick is the perfect canvas to show off that accent and the light oranges? because terracotta python also gives that orange. she's perfection and deserves the title of queen.

indil is also stunning??

i know orange and blue is a marketing tactic used in literally every B action movie. but it's used for a reason. it's action-y. it's contrast. it's perfect for indil as a commander. i'm so sold on fire trail being the star here. i always say fire is the best capsule, and now it's one of the top trail, too. black and white accenting with the primary and tert. good use of claw tips. good use of flight rising’s apparel that always pairs orange w a non-matching color.

kaheru is the fire primal we all want and need

cassiopeia was a choice out of left field but... i’m really loving her? i think those halo accents are underrated and i love them (i also wish accent layering was a thing bc i have a few in my vault). she exudes the energy of a hazy planetary galaxy and i’m loving it. the peacock giving those light blue hues with the varying blues on the primary? divine. the candles look right at home. even the sword doesn’t seem too out there because of the white accenting in the pants. love them

i’m absolutely adoring this man and his accent. his colors are visually appealing, hitting that brown/blue combo i love so much. i’ll never get over how good birdskull apparel is when used appropriately. desmond does it right. the ghostly theme is also on point. i know he’s in a vampire tab but like... cmon. i’m loving what’s underneath those starsilks. the ferocious armguard? the deadpan jesters things? the hoary scales? i’m really into it. great accenting giving the apparel a color palate and it’s G O O D

when goat first came out, i was a critic. i’m willing to be wrong on occasion.

i’m in love with how his colors play off his eyes. theres so many purples and none of them clash! not to mention the gem on his accent matches the actual cerise in his python. he doesn’t even need apparel. he’s good as is.

!! i’m really loving this gaoler. i dont really like shaggy but here’s me eating my words. the variance of browns with the multitude of colors? rainbow moss on a log. and also a vampire. what i really appreciate tho is how you matched his familiar to his accent. it’s cute. it works. i’m sold.

Session 09 - Divine Guidance

D spent the entirety of this session asleep in a buggy, because he is weak and also 3 years old.

One on one D&D made S very giddy by the end of it, but it was a bit more focused an experience. After being knocked unconscious at the end of the last session, Marla awakes to a vision from Lathander. Which I gave S in paper form a few days before the session but read aloud for her at the start of this one.

My deep, rich, Goddess voice leaves a lot to be desire but seemed to do the trick for S. Also, I want an oil painting of that Lathander scene.

The group asked around about ‘Kwalish’ and eventually managed to get directions up into the mountains to find a man named the ‘Cartophile’. S and D are getting their first foray into official WotC material. Primarily because Lost Laboratory of Kwalish was one of the cheapest things I could get with full DnDBeyond integration.

A natural 20 on a survival check had them noticing animal traps made with bones and rope, deftly avoiding bone chimes set up in the trees and eventually coming across a hideous hulking beast, eating a possibly live goat.

For those of you who may have read previous posts... would it at all surprise you to hear that Marla (who speaks giant) marched up to the troll and tried to negotiate passage? With a rather appalling intimidation check? No, good, me either.

“You go. Or me kill you.”

“Not if I kill you first.”

“Roll initiative.”

“Do I go first?” 

“You go second.” 

“Who goes first... one of my team? Please?” 

“So, the troll... throws it’s goat at the group.”

The battle unfolded with a decent amount of ebb and flow. Marla took a lot of damage because S had her charge in to attack the giant creature with her mace. The troll regenerated an awful lot of damage because S demanded that Canon use Witchbolt... twice. This used up both the warlock’s spell slots.

They eventually figured out they needed fire damage to stop the troll, but not before Doran Doran took a full round of attacks, including a a critical to the face. Dropping him from 44 to 6 HP in one round. There was a very real moment when I was worried we’d have to explain to the 3 year old that he has a new character now... for reasons...

But S managed to pioneer a plan that amounted to ‘start a campfire on top of the troll while we stab it to stop it regenerating too much. Which worked, obviously.

Proud Daddy-DM moment. S was aghast at the idea of resting in the cave... because that would end the day. Ending the day would mean they had less time to find out how to defeat the iron golem... which could make its way to the village. My six year old fully internalised the fictional threat of the giant metal marauder eventually making its way to the innocent people.

She is also very excited to become level 5.

Alright. Poop talk. Here we go. Most animals are vegetarian. Lots of fiber. Often their poop forms fecal balls that gently cascade out of the animals anus like some kind of zen pebble garden fountain. Occasionally they get sick, have diarrhea, etc. That stuff stains their fur and irritates their butt. No fun. Some of us are carnivores. Carnivore poop is many magnitudes grosser than vegetarian poop. That's why you can skitter across a field full of little goat raisinettes with little to no effect, but your cat can clear the room dropping a single turd. Carnivores can make up for some of the lack of roughage by eating the fur and sinew of its prey as well as ingestion of its own fur through grooming. This helps give the poops form as a protein rich diet tends to less like string cheese and more like go-gurt. We are omniverous, eating whatever tripe the food lobby puts in front of us. Some of us are better about eating roughage, vegetables, etc than others. But often we eat high protein, high carbohydrate diets which means that a lot of people are experiencing the Jackson Pollock shits. The last element of the deuce equation is that we're bipedal with well developed gluteal muscles that encroach on the anal playing field. It's like trying to play field hockey in a back alley. You can do it, but you're gonna hit the walls a lot. Quadripeds have a different muscle orientation where their muscle mass is to the side rather than directly behind. We can bypass this anatomic hurdle by doing the deep squat. This brings the gluteals to the lateral and clears the airfield for the bombs to drop. Buggy used to live in a lot of shitty places while on the run from the cops when he was a sprouting young criminal. He liked to think he escaped that life once he established a rule of terror in an unknown East Blue town with a name not worth remembering anymore.

A few years of living as boss gave him a shady construction business in which he was rolling in dough. The whole shindig had illegally imported explosives and everything. Hell, he even provided dental to his workers slash underlings. His life was great.

Straw Hat ruined that window of bliss with his literal homewrecking.

When did the kid even have TIME to hotwire a bulldozer and level his entire base? He had to have stayed in town for two hours at most!

Buggy almost forgave Straw Hat. It took a country bumpkin maniac with a destructive streak to make him realize just how small his worldview had become. Sheesh, he used to have big dreams and shit. The kid reminded him by smacking him in the face like they were basic punks duking it out on the streets.

The kid packed a hefty punch, but Buggy knew he could take it. Later. After the bruise healed.

So yeah, Buggy tried to slash the kid’s tires after finding out where he worked. ‘Tried’ because motherfucking Benn Beckman caught him in the act. He was one man he did not want to cross. Anywhere Beckman was at, Red Hair certainly would be hovering around nearby. The pair were mushy and together like that, reminding single people everywhere that they were SAD, ALONE, and in his case ANGRY. Bastards.

“What about that fling with Alvida?” Luffy asked, interrupting the beautiful monologue of his worthwhile career in crime.

“Work buddies. Don’t shit where you eat,” Buggy sniffed.

Alvida told him the things Luffy did when he disbanded her gang. Frankly, he thought they didn’t measure up to the deeds Straw Hat did to him. It looked like Luffy turned her life around for the better, if the kid couldn’t recognize her from the pig she once was. He avoided a kick to the crotch after that.

Now that he thought about it, Buggy himself was profiting from the waves that kid brought to his nowhere nook town. He’d never tell the brat, but Luffy had punched the idle satisfaction from his body that day.

“Hm,” Luffy said, watching a fly buzz by as he ate.

Buggy could see his reply fazed through him. Anything not concerning meat and cats were filtered out of his brain.

“Speaking of places to eat,” Buggy said, watching Luffy perk up immediately. “You need to get out of this place. I killed like five roaches on my way to kitchen.”

Luffy let Robin, one of the newer additions, settle into his lap. “Whaddya mean? Here is fine,” he said.

“Uh, kid?” Buggy said. He gestured to the peeling walls and the paper panels lined with cat sized holes. Half of them were repaired with index cards and duck tape. “Your house is falling apart. You have a bug problem. I think a freaking rat scuttled past my ankle when I was taking a shit in the toilet. Not a mouse. A RAT.”

Luffy tilted his head. “Robin and Sanji can take care of them. They’re both former barn cats,” he replied.

“Your water doesn’t spit out hot anymore,” Buggy said.

“I can go to the public baths,” Luffy returned easily.

“There’s no AC,” Buggy tried.

“We can open the doors and hang up the mosquito net,” Luffy put forth.

“Kid!” Buggy shouted. “There is MOLD infesting the kitchen ceiling.”

Buggy took brief satisfaction at the way Luffy hesitated. The feeling was short lived, however. He had to break the bad news to Luffy, which was as unpredictable of a situation as predicting a storm. The guy would either take it like a champ or refuse to budge.

...Or, Luffy would make this godawful devastated face like someone had told him one of his cats had died. Buggy HATED the possibility of that outcome. He always knew to avoid it whenever he brushed the topic of family. Despite being unfazed even in the face of death and the muzzle of a gun, Luffy still had hang ups like anyone else.

And Buggy would completely take full advantage of that, if only the threats of an internationally wanted fugitive and the hellstorm that be a retired ATTORNEY GENERAL weren’t breathing down his neck…

Oh, and Shanks could go fuck himself. Those crow’s feet and bleached gray hair all the way down to Beckman’s roots? Nuh-uh. Buggy ain’t taking a part of that circus, not yet.

“That’s not good for you or the cats,” Buggy continued, pushing the Monkey D. elders and the inevitable forthcoming of old age to the back of his mind. “The kitchen is where everyone eats. Not all of the furry things have strong immune systems, not like you.”

Luffy’s face was doing that thing where he was thinking. All signs pointed to this being a herald for bad ideas.

Buggy already made it this far. He might as well finish his guilt trip to the end of its bittersweet journey.

“Straw Hat Luffy,” Buggy said, standing up and heading toward the front door. “You can do better.”

Of course, that was where the metaphorical bad weather ended for a while.

Buggy assumed, with the radio silence, maybe Luffy decided to be sensible for once. Hey, he might even listen to Buggy’s advice and Buggy could rein it over his head forever!

Nope. Someone chose the absolute WORST outcome to come to fruition.

Monkey D. Luffy made his choice, on his own terms.

“Call on line 3 for you…” Mohji said to him one day.

Buggy, like the inattentive fucker he was, didn’t notice how pale his underling looked. He had to go ahead and take the call like an ignorant fool.

“I’ll give back the bulldozer in two days,” Luffy started.

Buggy hurled the entire phone set against the wall.

The village mayor had to be certain.

“Are you absolutely sure this is a cat?” Dalton asked the young man.

“Yeah! Geez, I know what’s a cat and what isn’t!” Luffy said.

Dalton looked over at the pudgy hooved animal. It watched him with clear wide eyes from its place in Luffy’s lap, as if daring him to contradict its adopted human.

“It has hooves,” Dalton said.

“He’s self-conscious about that.” Luffy nodded. “He’s not as polycrocodile as Nami and Robin are.”

“No tail?” he asked.

“Chopper is the opposite of Usopp!” Luffy exclaimed with a laugh.

Dalton frowned. “He’s a baby now, but he’ll probably grow horns in the future when he turns into an adult,” he persisted. How would this kid explain that?

“Horns?” Luffy lifted Chopper to look him in the eye. “Are you going to grow horns, Chopper?”

The goat-cat blinked slowly at Luffy. He turned his head to look at Dalton and then turned back to Luffy.

Chopper bleeped.

“He says sure, but they’ll fall off on their own,” Luffy said.

Dalton was at an impasse. He had troubles accepting that someone could be so stubborn about an animal’s presumed classification. Was it against certain animal laws if he just let this boy take a wild deer-goat-cat as a pet?

“No worries, Bull-guy,” Luffy assured, stretching to pat him on the shoulder. “Doctor-lady told me Chopper is a cat. I’ve never seen a cat like him before, so I guess I haven’t seen ‘em all!”

Their resident doctor and veterinarian told Luffy this? Dalton had never questioned her expertise in animal care before, but what would she gain from teasing a young boy from out of town?

“She approves of you taking him with you?” Dalton sighed.

“Mm! I told her my new place is near the sea and mountains, so she Hail Mary-ed Chopper into my arms and told me to get out! You should visit once we’re done building,” Luffy said.

Luffy placed a creased card onto Dalton’s palm. The paper shone in laminated purples, yellows, and reds with a splash of brown. It was all backdrop to a cheery lion shaped cleverly like a sun or a flower.

“The ‘Thousand Sunny’,” Dalton read on the other side.

“For the thousands of sunny days ahead of us,” Luffy followed up, swinging Chopper around in a circle.

It made sense with what Luffy wanted to do with the animal sanctuary. He briefly thought maybe he caught onto what Dr Kureha had intended in leaving the goat-cat-dog-deer to Luffy. Their small suburban town in the cold north was no place for an active animal that belonged in the wild. In an animal sanctuary, Chopper would have a better and longer life than the one he had with his herd, or so the Doctor had bitterly told him while drunk.

“Will Chopper have a lot of friends?” Dalton asked.

Luffy stopped and set down Chopper, who wobbled on shaky legs before collapsing onto a nearby pillow. The goat-cat-dog’s tongue stuck out as he tried to regain his sense of balance.

“You bet! There’s Zoro, Nami, Usopp, Sanji—”

Dalton listened as Luffy told him of their happy and growing family.

“It sounds fun wherever you guys are,” he said once he found a gap in one-sided conversation.

Luffy beamed. “That’s right!” he agreed.

Dalton stepped up and patted the young man on the back. He glanced over his shoulder and grinned at the approaching people, more particularly the grumpy doctor refusing help from the younger veterinarians around her.

“Take care of him. I know Chopper has dealt with plenty of coldness in his life. He could use a lot of warmth from now on,” he said as he turned Luffy to the arrivals.

“Nami! Sanji!” Luffy took off toward the sleeping cats being rolled into the waiting room. He barrelled into the hovering veterinarians in his haste. The room quickly filled with many protests.

“You brats! Don’t wake them! They just came out of surgery and need rest!” Dr. Kureha whipped out a pair of latex gloves and whacked the jumpy young man with them.

“They’re okay now?” Luffy peered at the cats on the cart, taking care to keep his voice significantly lower.

“Yes, you impatient buffoon. Sit with Chopper, I need to pack and write up the basics for his care and the cats’ aftercare for you before you take off.” She waved the boy away and glared at the surrounding vets. “You bunch need to leave me be before I bring out the meter stick.”

Taking heed to the woman’s hand inching toward her hip where she kept the retractable not-weapon, the vets scattered.

Dalton felt he had overstayed his welcome. He headed toward the glass doors of the clinic, before someone cleared their throat behind him.

“You must’ve distracted the brat well enough, if he managed to stay in this room for four hours straight without interrupting me,” the doctor said, one hip and an eyebrow cocked.

He scratched the back of his neck sheepishly.

“I think it’s the other way around,” he admitted.

She snorted. “I’m a creature of solitude, so I know when someone isn’t. That boy,” she jutted her chin at Luffy attempting to imitate Chopper’s hops, “is someone who loves and needs love. I’d almost think he’s more animal in that aspect, but most humans need others to live fully. Otherwise, we’d die before our time.”

“Is that so?” Dalton took vague amusement as Chopper perched on Luffy’s shoulder like he was a mountain face, accidentally knocking over his hat.

“Of course. I’m an old woman who has found the secret to longevity. However, I haven’t found the right way to love Chopper in the way he needs. That’s why I’m allowing Straw Hat to steal my cute apprentice.” Dr. Kureha chuckled at Dalton’s baffled expression. “He’s very good at fetch, that Chopper.”

As if to demonstrate, Chopper jumped down and presented Luffy the hat in between his teeth.

“Cats don’t do fetch,” Dalton reminded with a twinge of his lips.

“Oh, shut it, brat,” Dr. Kureha said to the noises of amazement and praise filling up the small clinic waiting room.
