On Saturdays, time before the day ends, I always try to draft up my meal plan for the following week. ⠀ ⠀ This gives me time to put in a last minute Instacart order, and gives me the plan for what I need to prep during our Sunday Meal Prep parties! ⠀ ⠀ It sounds fancy, but really it’s just a few of my fave people hanging out on Zoom, sharing recipes for the week, prep tips for keeping your food fresher longer, and a little extra accountability to get it done. ⠀ ⠀ Because 100% of the time, if it’s 5 O’clock and I don’t have a plan for dinner, it’s going to be either a less than nutritious or highly over priced dinner option Take Out style.⠀ ⠀ Let’s face it, even some nights when I DO have a plan, it’s a struggle to convince myself that I DO have the TIME or ENERGY to make dinner. ⠀ ⠀ It’s mind over matter. Some workouts aren’t for fitness
I was doing my workout a couple of days ago (almost a month in #buildinghealthyhabits) and I was feeling weirder than usual. I didn’t have my positive voice on, I didn’t want to pull myself out of bed but I did anyway, and I just wanted it to be over. I was a little more than halfway through and, as I was thinking “Ugh, God please let this be over” during mountain climbers, I immediately counter thought “At least your doing it.” So as I pushed my way through another full circuit, I kept in mind that, even though that little voice in my head was telling me that this sucked, I was making it through. And at the end when I was kicking off my shoes, I realized that this workout really wasn’t about my fitness goal. It was about my mental goal. Sometimes workouts are a test of whether you can pull yourself out of bed, try your best when you don’t want to, and to keep up the good work. Just thought I’d share because I’m super proud that I didn’t quit. Now I’m almost a week away from doing my 28 day challenge and it’s lit.

So a few weeks ago we finally got our garden to where we could start planting! We’ve got hot peppers, asparagus, spinach, zucchini, and some flowers growing!! I’m so excited to see them all sprouting and growing so well after so much hard work!!
Through the rest of the summer we’re going to continue clearing and building the rest of the garden area. But we discovered as we went that part of this area had previously been landscaped with river rock. So it’s already been a ton of work to clear as much of that rock as possible plus the plastic; and the area we’ve already done wasn’t landscaped. So we still have a TON of work ahead of us to get the rest plant-able. But we can see the potential and we’re so excited to keep building up the area!! The goal is for more veggies, some fruit bushes, and some more flowers!
