So basically I've watched the first episode of Captain Laserhawk and it's super good! Honestly everything so far (from like the first episode alone lmao) is very appeasing to me and I'll definitely watching the rest of this >:D

So, in this picture, y'all can see Sunny being upset about the memories from his mentor Theotis Suggs a.k.a "Bullfrog" since he never thought that Sunny was good enough, and Sunny seemingly let a tear roll down his cheek, and cheddar man noticed this and he pulls Sunny into a side hug in a way to try and comfort his loveable boyfriend ｡⁠•́w•̀⁠｡🧡☀️💙🧀

What if each generation of Pokémon had a fourth, Normal Type starter?

The hard part was fitting each starter into the others’ themes, especially for Generations 1-3. The Normal Types don’t have any strong theme besides “wild animal versions of things that can kind of be pets”, but since Skeledirge’s not a snake, Primarina’s not a weapon, and Venusaur’s just a regular bullfrog, I think I’ll be fine.

Protori, the Hatchling Pokémon

The Generation One starters are all pets/things you’d bring home from the forest against your parents’ wishes. Bulbasaur’s a frog, Charmander’s a lizard, Squirtle’s a turtle…therefore, Protori’s a bird.

Grynndon, the Playful Pokémon

The Gen 2 starters are all ancient. Alligators and echidnas are all incredibly old, and Chikorita’s a straight-up dinosaur. And that’s ignoring the fact Croconaw’s based on a caveman and Typhlosion a volcano. You can imagine where I’m going with this.

Tarsii, the Lookout Pokémon

If you’ve watched HoopsandHiphop’s video, you’d know the Gen 3 cast are all relatively rare pets. I was gonna do a monkey instead, but I couldn’t come up with any good ideas.

Coyoki, the Coy Pokémon

Here’s where the themes get more cohesive. The Gen 4 crew are all myths. The World Turtle, Son Wukong, Napoleon’s hopes and dreams Poseidon, and now, the trickster coyote. I was thinking a rabbit, but y’know. Buneary.

Elephone, the Calf Pokémon

Gen 5. America. Melting pot. Different cultures. Snivy’s French, Tepig’s Chinese, Oshawott’s Japanese, so Elephone’s Indian with a snake charmer theme. My first idea was an actual snake for the theme, but then I remembered Snivy herself’s a snake.

Foldock, the Lamb Pokémon

This one makes more after evolution. This one’s the white mage to Gen 6’s fighter, black mage, and thief. As you can infer by the shapes of the curls on the head and chest, he’s supposed to be a doctor.

Kokonu, the Smooth Shell Pokémon

This is another one that makes sense after evolution. Aside from being the thief to Gen 7’s black mage, fighter, and white mage respectively, they also round out their circus theming; he’s the “human” cannonball.

Goslit, the Fowl Pokémon

Gen 8 is British entertainment. As the name, ink pot body, and quill tail insinuate, he’s themed around writing and poetry.

Teaturro, the Foal Pokémon

Lot of starters in show biz these days. Teaturro’s a theater kid in its rawest form, down to the name being a play on “teatro” and “burro”.

IM LATE 4 THE ASK IM SORRY but i feel uncomfortable with that *one* ship in the laserhawk fandom too, but it's not because i have them as f/os or anything, it's because Ray in one scene says to him "when i was your age" so basically it's a big age gap between them. i see them more like father and son idk if you see my vision

I DO SEE YOUR VISION, ANON. I SEE IT BRIGHT AND CLEAR. ray has been doing work for eden for... god, longer than the warden has been alive, and she clearly looks to be at least 30 - when she was a kid, ray was STILL working as a newscaster. so in regards to ray we're talking at the VERY LEAST he has to be in his 50's. there is just no logical way he could be any younger.

telling bullfrog "when I was your age I thought a scholarship was going to change everything" and showing him graduating from college implies that bullfrog is college-aged - around early 20's. that's an age gap of at least 30. and if you ask me, deliberately stating "when I was your age" sounds like a clear establishment that there is a power dynamic in play - as there always will be with large age gaps where one party is as young as bullfrog.

and obligatorily (is that a word?) I also have to mention this line...

they're both adults and I'm not saying it's inherently bad to ship them - like seriously I am not interested in starting discourse about it, please don't come into my inbox looking to start an argument, but it shouldn't be surprising that some people are uncomfortable with it because of the large age gap. 💀

for that reason I think a familial dynamic works way better with them! like the father and son thing you mentioned. I've seen AUs that incorporate that and it is ADORABLE. there was one where rayman found and adopted bullfrog as a tadpole and it was the cutest thing ever! 🥺

IGGY INFODUMP..

In regards to his backstory, Iggy grew up in Eden, often jumping between different foster families, though never seemed to land in a stable one that could keep him for more than a few weeks. Iggy was around twelve by the time he had decided to live alone on Eden's streets. Iggy used to take whatever time he could to watch the rayman news and what not, having been a rayman kid up until Eden began slaughtering, and endangering hybrids and their youth. Upon seeing what Rayman had been influencing, he began trying to tarnish Rayman's name throughout many media outlets, and all over any social platform he could access. Not realising that Eden was behind it, and not Rayman. Throughout his time on the streets, he had gotten into a lot of trouble with many different gangs, and even the law enforcement. In one instance, he had stolen his rather Iconic gold chain necklace from a gang member, primarily because he thought it looked cool. They quickly found out he did it, due to the fact he had left tracks behind by accident. This lead to them hunting him down, and promptly jumping him. They did not succeed in getting the necklace back, however they had ripped off his hand in the process. Eventually Dolph and Bullfrog had found him hobbling around, and ended up taking them back to their base (in my au), where Dolph worked on making a new mechanical hand for Iggy. Now he works as the head of communications, making sure every message as well as order gets to the right place and group.

He was incredibly hyper and reckless when he was young, and had a tendency to mess with everything, and be in everyone's way. Iggy had never been taught that acting like this was unacceptable, which is why he gets very temperamental and irritable when told to calm down. He enjoys pulling pranks on members of The Resistance, though usually pushes it to the extreme, which leads to him getting in trouble.

Though he looks up to Bullfrog, he primarily sees Dolph as a father figure, as they have bonded over time, forming a father/son type relationship. He likes following Dolph around, and trying to help him with the machinery and weaponry Dolph likes to create.

He didn't take kindly to Bullfrog bringing Ramon in, due to the fact he fears that Ramon will put the resistance in danger, this is because he believes Ramon is still the Rayman he saw on tv. He tends to pick on Ramon, often spreading lies and rumours about him to members of the Resistance, in order to make him look bad, in hopes of getting him kicked out. Though, I plan on having him warm up to Ramon eventually. ASIDE from the infodump, here's a sketch of smth I plan to happen eventually

Iggy will run into Rorik again, aka the person who not only tore off his hand, but also the person he stole the necklace from.

While Rayman's relation to the teensies has never been established as anything besides friends/civilians he helps (meaning nothing awkward there in regards to shipping), the nymphs are basically Polokus' daughters (i think?) And it's popular fanon that Betilla is Rayman's mother in some shape or form

While canonically the relationship is up in the air between Betilla and Rayman (he did look up her skirt in the origins trailer), the laserhawk universe could totally remix it where he and Betilla are blood family , and even go as far as make Polokus' Rayman's grandpa

assuming Bullfrog is straight up Polokus' son , Bullfrog could technically be Rayman's uncle

.....Would it be incredibly horrible if of all the things that got called back from the first season, season two decided to reference the Jade and Pey'J scene but with Bullfrog and Ramon instead?

I think I'd rip my organs out if that happened, and I'm a laserfrog shipper

However this is assuming they're even gonna go that route. Bullfrog's similarities to Polokus could be totally coincidence or something else that doesn't make him related to Rayman (if Rayman is even related to Polokus in this remix) it just, I'm surprised that when rayfrog ship discourse was happening that this possibility wasn't brought up

Hell, I'm surprised I'm the first one to bring this up at all

If this does happen in season two I'm gonna get hunted down for sport aren't I?
