Ngl I’m v disappointed with the ea-Nasir tumblr bracelet I got today. why? Well for starters I thought it would be somewhat adjustable, like maybe the metal would bend a bit so ya know it could stay on your wrist… nope one size fits all unfortunately. Oh well these things happen when you have small wrists it’s fine. What really is bugging me is that the actual cuneiform is printed onto the metal instead of engraved, which would normally be fine but I’ve only had it for a few hours and it already looks like the ink is trying to wipe off and is faded af. 3/10 would not recommend for anything other than sitting on a knick knack shelf
TLDR: don’t buy the ea-nasir tumblr shop bracelets they’re cheap af

just got done seeing the re-release of sam raimi's spider-man on the big screen and now y'all are gonna hear my thoughts whether you like it or not:
the danny elfman music kicked on during the opening credits and i had full-body goosebumps before the marvel logo even came up on screen because i'm a fucking loser.
speaking of opening credits, remember when movies used to have those? i miss it. bring them back.
the upside-down kiss remains the greatest cinematic kiss of all time. don't argue with me when i'm right.
the setup and repetition of "don't tell harry." fantastique.
the cinematographyyyy. bitch. the way the camera follows spider-man swinging through traffic, up and around buildings, across the city…..i just don't get the same feeling of movement in either of the reboots. they're too clean. they're like iphone commercials. they're gross.
speaking of iphones, during the festival scene in times square there was a billboard ad for cingular and i thought about how i used to have a cingular phone and i almost committed suicide in the theater. i'm so old.
everyone calls her "aunt may" – including norman osborn, a grown-ass man. 'twas adorable.
"and i know i'm not your father—" "then stop pretending to be!" maybe i WILL kill myself in this alamo drafthouse.
watching this made me miss having regular-degular goons and scumbags in comic book movies. i'm tired of the "i want to rule the world, i want all the power" schtick. rob a bank. hijack a train. kidnap the mayor. have fun with it. you're in a comic book movie, for fuck's sake.
the balance between campy fun superhero stuff and earnest, genuine emotion was better than i remembered – and one never came at the expense of the other.
jk simmons. nothing else to add here – i just wanna remind people that he fucking crushed this role and burned it down and nobody has been able to touch it since.
on a similar note: willem dafoe. he didn't just chew the scenery – he had a fucking feast. fuck, man. he's great.
unrelated to the film-making itself, but....what exactly is the military purpose of a glider where the pilot is completely exposed? and why did it already look like a halloween machine before osborn becomes the goblin? questions i ask.
anyway, i realize you could hand-wave a lot of this as me falling for the nostalgia of it all (which i absolutely am), but also...i dunno. there's an undercurrent of sincerity to this movie that i just don't really feel in comic book movies anymore. that's probably because the current spate of comic book movies aren't even really movies anymore – they're products. they're vacuum-sealed, rubber-stamped, climate-controlled products to sell you a disney+ subscription or whatever the fuck the warner bros equivalent is (is it max? i think it's max). and every movie has an ending setup that tries to sell you on the next product, and the next, and the next...
anyway. with this first spider-man, yes it's silly at times, but this movie embraces it, warts and all. there's a well-balanced mix of goofy dialogue ("are you in or are you out?" "it's you who's out, gobbie – out of your mind!") and heartfelt moments (i mean, do i even need to say it? "with great power comes great responsibility"). i know it's a hack thing to say "they don't make movies like they used to" but.....man, they REALLY don't make movies like they used to.

TALE OF THE NINE-TAILED 1938
GENRES: Historical, Drama, Comedy
SUMMARY: Magically, Lee Yeon finds himself in 1938 tracking down a stone for Taluipa to secure the fate of the current world. There he meets that era’s Lee Rang, some of his long lost mountain god pals, and some closure for the tragedies he’s suffered…and caused.
THIS SHOW HAS EVERYTHING: Lucky babies, soul stealers, opium addicts, revolutionary freedom fighters, mermaids, loyal gisaengs, tailored suits, historical glow-ups, puffed rice, broken combs, trickster tigers, murderous Japanese imperialists, bandit gangs, zombies, shinigami, and more gods than you ever thought possible.
HOT TAKE: I can't tell you enough how happy I am to be reunited with this amazing crew. It's been far too long and now that the show is over I miss them like crazy all over again. FYI: I never want to see Kim Beom in anything but a 3-piece suit with an undercut hairstyle, ever again.
Be careful what subplots you invest yourself in while you watch, fam. There are a LOT of them and not all of them get their due follow-through.

the older i get (not that im that old really) the more glad i am that i ignore most film critics reviews of films because i used to take those people and what they said to heart and i used to be sad that i thought i liked these films that were so obviously terrible and the fact that i enjoyed them shows i dont know anything about real cinema. ough i dont care. if i liked looking at the film, if it made me laugh or filled me with whimsy and joy, then i dont care. if i came away from the film feeling lighter for having witnessed astory, then that was enough for me. if i go to an art gallery and look at a critically aclaimed piece of art its because it happens to look nice. im sure the brushwork or use of light and metaphors is good but also it looks nice. and thats enough for me.

DRAMA REVIEW | MOVING (2023)
Tumblr media
In a time when we are suffering from an over-saturation of content and less than mediocre stories, particularly related to people with superpowers, South Korea has released MOVING and proved there's still hope for the genre.
Like its tittle the story is in constant move, not only pushing forward but going back to different timelines to give us context o our main characters and how the things happening in present time are a direct consequence to the past. Technically, MOVING is perfect. One of the strongest points is definitely the editing and this can be seen in the way the story jumps from one year to another but you never lose track of what's happening nor leaves you confused. There are gaps to fill but with other episodes that will give you answers. The score complements the actions and emotions of the characters to perfection.
The performances are top notch and it's not surprise considering this drama is stacked. If you have been watching korean dramas or films for a while, you will recognize even the most random character or one-episode-cameo it's performed by an award winning actor or actress. These people have a reputation for a reason and they deliver in every scene, with a look, a touch, a smile or a punch that will push you through a wall. For some characters in the drama literally speaking.
Zo In Sung hasn't starred in a drama since Dear My Friends (2016) and I am so glad this is his return to the tv format. In MOVING he delivered a nuance, charming and badass performance that in the hands of another would have fell flat. His character's entire existence it's what pushes most of the story forward: a person used as a weapon to kill but all he ever wanted was to live. The big mystery of the drama it's to find out what was his fate after he got separated from those he loves.
Ryoo Seung Ryong remains one of the most compelling actors of his generation, giving us the incredible story of a good man lost in life until he found his purpose and redemption. His storyline, full of gore and violence, was actually a tender love story about how far a man will go to protect his family. Marvelous.
Han Hyo Joo's character could have easily fallen into the Smurfette principle but no. She's an equal to the men who love her and those that want to kill her, with a very strong motivation to keep herself on the top of the game. This character's loneliness comes through every scene she's in, bottling everything up in order to be strong for her family but you can tell she's waiting for a chance to be free and, most importantly, for her son to be able to live freely.
Ko Yoon Jung, Lee Jeong Ha and Kim Do Hoon are really promising actors, particularly considering they hold their own while performance with so many household names. I think Kim Do Hoon and Kim Sun Kyun probably gave one of the most heartbreaking yet beautiful stories in the drama.
Like I mentioned before every single actor in this drama brought their A+ game face but I would be doing a disservice if I didn't mention Kim Hee Won, Cha Tae Hyun, Ryoo Seung Bum, Park Hee Soon, Yang Dong Geun, Jo Bok Rae, Park Kwang Jae, Kim Joong He and, of course, Kwak Sun Young. She in particular was SPECTACULAR.
None of these characters are one-dimensional, they are not defined by the label society wants to put on them. They are all joined together by the experiences, hardships, love, motivations and ambitions they share. At the end of the day, related or not by blood, they are a family. Even the so-called enemies.
MOVING it's absolutely worthy of the hype that surrounds it through all social media and news outlets putting in the category of one of 2023 best tv shows. I only regret I didn't have the time to watch it sooner so I could have add it to mine.

I’m so sad about that man. A lot of people didn’t like it but I fucking love that movie :/

Drama Review: Tale of the Nine-Tailed 1938
Tumblr media
Source: Google Images
An unexpected case leads Lee Yeon back in time to 1938, where he reencounters Ryu Hong Joo. Once a guardian spirit of the mountain in the west, she's now the owner of a high-end restaurant in the capital city of Gyeongseong. He also meets his younger brother Lee Rang. Meanwhile, another former guardian spirit and ex-friend Cheon Moo Young has become hostile. Lee Yeon struggles to return to the present, to his loved one.

One of the Most Unserious Dramas Out There
Before we start: I did not watch the first one and am not planning to watch it at all. Going into Tale of the Nine-Tailed 1938 I admit I had to do a Q&A with my sister to understand what happened between the Lee brothers in this drama's modern world. However, one does not actually need to watch the previous drama to watch this and honestly speaking, from what I saw and knew about it, Tale of the Nine-Tailed 1938 is a whole lot more interesting and fun.
That being said, lets get on with how I felt about this drama. I am not kidding when I say, this is the most unserious drama for a drama anyone would think to be serious. Practically half of this drama was comedy and that is a praise. The comedy bit plays a part in making Tale of the Nine-Tailed 1938 so darn interesting and fun. Yet, this show also pulls on your heartstrings be it the brothers, the best friends or the best friends' righthand people.
I understand romance was a huge part of the first instalment but in this, it was just a tiny bit and I believe that is why I freaking loved watching this drama. In terms of what romance there was, I have no complains too. I mean, I adore the mermaid and the only complain I have is that I wished we could have gotten more scenes with her powers. When Rang said he liked someone who's stronger than him, he was not lying. The way Yeohee was written was right up my alley, she may not be as powerful as Rang but she saved him more times than he saved her and even when she was in danger, she still did not back down on a losing fight. For that reason, Yeohee is I really thought I would dislike the mermaid but nope, I love her.
Another thing I seriously love about Tale of the Nine-Tailed 1938 was the friendships. Any friendship in this drama was a pleasure to watch. Obviously, the friendship among our three mountain gods was my favourite. Don't get me wrong, Yeon is extremely lovable but in this trio, I need to worship my lady, Hongjoo and lovingly protect the cinnamon roll, Mooyoung. These three portrayed my kind of friendship where they were tight as children, still tight as adults and even with unfortunate circumstances, they might hate but they love each other more. Of course, the friendship among the roommates was a delight too. I only highlighted my top two favourites but I am not lying when I claim that this show did friendships so well.
Now, now. We have a problem though. At the beginning of this drama, Taluipa told Yeon even if he changes something in 1938, it does not affect 2023. I think its safe for me to say that we do not want that to be true, right? I am just willing to believe that what Taluipa said meant that Rang would still be dead in 2023, nothing Yeon did in 1938 changed Rang's decision in the future. I would even go as far to say that, everything Yeon did in 1938 further encouraged Rang to make that choice in the future. That is all I am willing to believe because I hear there's a third season and I need my best friends and roommates reunited to fight (without a doubt) the original mountain god. Yes, I know I said all I am willing to believe is that Rang is still dead but that's because I am sure there will be no Nine-Tailed dramas without both Lee brothers alive.
When the next instalment comes out, I will watch it as long as Hongjoo and Mooyoung are still around (if Jaeyoo, Miyeon and Yeohee are too, even better). I don't even care if there will be more romance although I wish there wouldn't be.
Rating: ★★★★★
P.S.: Anyone else felt that the big bad villains were so pathetic as compared to the smaller villains?

Blogmas: Holiday Gift Guide 🤍
Hi guys,
I have seen so many comments of people asking what gift sets would make ideal Christmas presents and I wanted to share one that I got for my birthday. My friends know I love to try a lot of beauty products out so when they find a brand I've never tried before I get so excited to try it out. Now I am so late to the game with this brand it's not even funny, like I'm sure everyone in the universe heard about this brand before I did. Today we are chatting about the Sol De Jeneiro Bum Bum Jet Set, £28.00.
Now like I mentioned I was not familiar with the brand so I needed to do my research. The brand Sol De Janeiro itself is named after the “Sun of January,” when the sun hits its highest point during Brazilian summers and focuses on creating beauty and skincare products that all bodys can embrace and use.
In this gift set you get:
• Bum Bum Cream (50ml)
• Brazilian 4 Play Shower Cream-Gel (90ml)
• Brazilian Crush Body Fragrance Mist (30ml)
Let's chat about what you get in this giftset. The first product and arguably their most famous is their Bum Bum cream which is actually a full body moisturiser though some assume it's not because of the name. This moisturiser is made with upuaçu butter, coconut oil, açaí oil, guayusa and Brazil nut to smooth and tighten your skin giving it extra hydration. The next product is the 4 Play Shower Cream - Gel, this shower gel is a rich, creamy body care formula designed to gently cleanse the skin of impurities while helping to leave it soft and smooth. The last product I got in the set was the Brazilian Crush Body Fragrance Mist. This mist is really unique because it is made with notes of pistachio and almond, and heart notes of heliotrope and jasmine petals, this fragrance is completed by base notes of vanilla, salted caramel and sandalwood. This fragrance isn't something I would normally wear and yet I'm obsessed with it!
So if you're looking for a present idea why not check out this set. As always all products mentioned are linked above.
Lot's of love

DELIGHTFULLY DECEITFUL
GENRES: Mystery, Drama
SUMMARY: Can an ultra-empathetic lawyer truly be friends with a genius con artist and still maintain any kind of legal ethics?
THIS SHOW HAS EVERYTHING: Childhood trauma, exploitive variety shows, manhwa store hackers, flirty probation officers, lazy co-workers, office action figures, bags of cash, phishing scams, gambling, hidden bathroom revolvers, red notebooks, arson, neck tattoos, revenge, independent journalism, and lifelong friendships.
HOT TAKE: On some sites I've see this show also listed as a Comedy, but for every laughable moment in this show there's at least a dozen moments of childhood trauma. That being said, it's so hilarious to see Kim Dong Wook and Yoon Park together again (previously 'You Are My Spring') as super well-dressed, shippable main characters.

A pretty romance for a pretty day ˋ( ° ▽、° )
Behind Cut (Romance/Slice of life) 2021 - 8 episodes
Korean BL
Rating: 10/10
Tumblr media
On a sunny day, what could be more refreshing than a romance that's as beautiful as it is simple? If you're looking for that kind of refreshment, then I highly recommend Behind Cut! Ki jin and Yeong woo will prove to you that love still exists and that there's nothing easier than falling in love. Like them, you could well find your soulmate on the run from an ex you met on a street corner life made you pick up for no reason.
Tumblr media
Yeong Woo is a very positive, hard-working, and straightforward young man. He loves his life and puts his heart into everything he does, whether it's his work or caring for others. His radiant smile soon gets the better of Ki Jin, a promising apprentice designer who is putting all his energy into fulfilling his dream. As their paths cross, Ki Jin and Yeong Woo discover and accompany each other on their respective life journeys, both of which are turned completely upside down by the other. While Ki Jin sees it as a way of deepening his dream and sharing it with the person he loves, Yeong Woo sees it as a new, unknown path to discover, with no particular motivation other than his feelings for Ki Jin.
Tumblr media
Between sweet romance and solid friendship despite the blunders, Behind Cut explores all the subjects of building relationships, trust, and discovering each other and oneself with a great deal of positivity. Despite some difficult moments, the well-written plot takes us down well-trodden paths with a unique twist. The highly engaging characters will make you lose all sense of time and plunge you into an everyday reality that will seem almost too real to be true. The excellent acting combined with the high-quality direction of this series makes it a must-see!
Tumblr media
Behind Cut will take you back to the fragility of young people discovering themselves and love at the same time but without any of the frills. You'll be immersed in a daily life stripped of any excessive narration. Let yourself be lulled by the simple, pungent feelings of our protagonists, who experience both the pain and the sweetness of love. The only negative point: eight episodes are far too few to enjoy a story of this quality...
