I rewatched ever after high with my girlfriend after like, six years

Do you guys think fairytale people look down on those who aren’t from a fairytale? Because, Ever After High seems to be the most like prestige school, but not everyone can go to it. Is there like racism going on between fairytale people and normal people?

It’s said many times that Apple will be like, the future queen, but when we meet Snow White she’s a fucking capitalist. Also Apple being queen means kinda nothing cause half the school are royalty and will grow up to become kings and queens. That title doesn’t mean anything

We had like, ten kids from wonderland, but no Oz kids? I feel like a Dorothy child would be very obvious, like what the hell, same with the witches

The school actively encourages evil people to be evil, then become surprised when they are evil. Like, Evil Queen cursing Wonderland and almost taking over the world? That’s on you, principal

Also can we place lock up the principal in jail? He lied and manipulated his students, stole from Raven, and kept his brother cursed and locked up in the basement. Like, ???? The brother comes back and is just like “Oh I missed you so much brother” like no!!!!!! Get that man out of here!!!!!

Do the fairytale people reproduce like, asexually, or do we have a ton of inbreeding between the royals? Well, it would be the most realistic aspect of the show

Hot take: Apple is a great character. Like yeah she’s a little selfish, but when we’re shown how she was raised it’s fully understandable that she’s so obsessed with fulfilling her destiny, but she’s never rude or bitchy, not ever really to Raven. Also she gets better! Active character development! She’s one of my favorites

Why the fuck is Allister frolicking in Wonderland. Bro Alice came back, she left that place, yet everyone is just like “Yep he’s a wonderlandian”, like no! Also he’s a royal? Bro you can’t be a royal, you were actively rebelling against your story by going to wonderland early

It’s a little messed up how many of the kids are like, being forced to die. Like Ramona? She will be fucking gutted after eating her sister if she goes with her story. Like what is this school, what are these rules?

Apart from Sparrow, surprisingly, everyone of the boy designs are so fucking boring. Ew

I love the direction they took for Briar. I think they kinda realized after the first episode that shit, it’s kinda weird that this girl who’s destiny it is to sleep for 100 years to just be fine with it. Briar is also one of my faves

Speaking of the sleeping beauty story tho, do you think it’s rare for the school to have a sleeping beauty? Cause we’re shown that this school has housed like, generations of fairytale characters, but since Sleeping beauty clocks out for a hundred years, and probably only had a child after that, they must only get her like, every fourth or fifth generation. Kinda interesting actually

Daring X Cerise > Daring X Rosabella. Like idk, maybe it’s that Cerise can like, fully challenge him in his views, forcing him to become better in a way. Like, with Rosabella it feels more like an “I can fix him <3” mindset, while with Cerise it’s more “I can knock him down a peg”. I just thought they had a better dynamic, idk

Speaking of the Charming family, gf and I fucking hate Dexter’s name. Like, Daring and Darlings names match each other so well, not just that they sound alike but that they have meanings. Dexter is just a boring name

We tried to come up with name ideas, Dating was the funniest one to us, but we thought Dastardly was kinda fun.

Like, our thought process was that he was meant to be like, the classic jealous twin brother, always looking to sabotage his perfect older bro, except he wasn’t that at all. Like, a running joke would be that it would look like he was sabotaging Daring, or like being mean, but then the camera would like zoom out or smt and show that he was like, playing a video game or just doing something completely different. It would have been more fun, plus it would have given Dexter like an actual personality instead of just, inferiority complex the person

Dashing could also have been an idea for a name

Kitty should have a tail. As should her milf of a mother have. Also like, real cat ears instead of just a hat or a headband. It feels obvious

I mean Bunny has actual bunny ears, plus she can transform into a bunny, but why is the cat just like A Girl

How can Hunter belong to both the Little red ringing hood story, and Snow White. Is his dad just a mad multitasker, or does he have two dads? I like the second option honestly

The storybeat of the characters all living through each others story honestly should have been like, an entire special. It’s the most interesting thing the show did, and I wish we could have seen more, cause it lasted only like seven minutes. But that gives us more time to see that thrilling book all storyline, amiright?!

Briar’s moment was especially heart aching, and I wish we'd gotten more of it

But like, since Briar as the evil queen saw Apple poisoned instead of her mum, does that mean that Raven was talking to herself in her story

But at the same time, Blondie saw the current queen of hearts instead of Lizzie, so like what's going on

Snow White and The Evil Queen have like the vibe of high school rivals/ex girlfriends, and they did go to school together, but like Queenie is literally her step mom. Like what. If Raven were to live out her story, would that mean that she would marry Apple's dad? Whoever that is?

The more you think about the lore of this world the more it doesn't make sense, but it also becomes like incredibly dark

The Pied Piper is one of if not my favorite fairytales, but I hate how he is represented in this show. Like he kidnapped children and then drowned them, that man shouldn't be a teacher!

Also white queen is a teacher at ever after, yet her daughter is still in wonderland. Like bitch just left her there, what the hell.

I love that they didn’t make any of the princesses stuck up bitches, like Descendants did. Like, the girls are all kind, with vibrant personalities and a lot of love for the people around them. The closest thing to the “mean girl” stereotype is Duchess actually

But Duchess makes total sense! She fucking drowns at the end of her story, of course she wants another one. Why is Raven’s rebellion praised but Duchesses scorned? Also why is she a royal, girlypop is literally trying to steal other people’s happily ever after, she a rebel

I see the way some users brush aside Stranger Things' depictions of autism/openly decry it as less important/impactful than other forms of representation (or just miss the representation entirely because it doesn't fit their narrow definition of what autism is "supposed" to look like), and frankly it's...Egh.

Watching people say there's zero substance in a show that has So Much Substance for autists like me, who are represented quite thoughtfully and meaningfully...but in ways that people love to brush off or straight up ignore is, well, less than fun and painfully reminiscent of how we're treated in real life. We can acknowledge that a show is majorly lacking in its nuance in multiple areas while not discrediting the substance that means so much to other groups. We can multitask.

And I'm not going to express the full extent of my grievances here and now because a) it's not the time, and b) I know I'll get called sensitive (just like Will is sensitive, and Henry is sensitive, and--oh) if I talk too much about it anyway.

So really this post here is all I want to say about it right now.

But just know that I see it, and that like a video game narrator might say: James will remember this.

I don't have any guinea pig photos to send you, but please tell me some of your favorite things about guinea pigs! What is the main draw to guinea pigs as opposed to other animals like bunnies or hamsters?

my favorite thing about guinea pigs is basically everything they do! they are creatures made up with a combination of the most ridiculous traits possible and it makes them so so adorable. just imagine hearing about an animal shaped like a potato with a ravenous appetite that squeaks like an alarm everytime they want food. im genuinely convinced these things know how funny they are and they play it up for laughs and treats.

there isn't anything about piggies I dont like except that they can get sick pretty easily, which while isnt always fatal is at least a pain to deal with. getting a tiny flailing rodent to take its meds takes patience and love. anyway here is a list of some of my fave things piggies do!

their ears flap when they're eating

their bellies move if they wheek loud enough

they chutter and squeak when they explore new areas

popcorning! esp when older pigs do a couple just to show that even though they have old pig bones they're just so happy

they walk really funny its so bouncy and goofy looking

when they're so hungry the food goes everywhere but their mouth

watching them interact with other piggies is hilarious they will definitely start shit just for fun

watching them play with things is adorable they absolutely love tossing stuff around

when they're so so tired and chunky that they become liquid and melt into the nearest surfaces

they are very very good communicators and very social animals! they make so many sounds and move their potato bodies in so many ways

anyway I dont have a specific reason I love guinea pigs more than bunnies or hamsters besides autism. there is nothing allistic going on here trust me. bunnies are actually very similar to piggies personality wise and I dont have enough experience with hamsters to know what they're like. I do know a lot of hams are solitary so they'd probably be much different to keep than guinea pigs. half of the fun of piggies is watching them mess around with each other and seeing their herd dynamics at work. bunnies are pretty social and friendly just like piggies so I also love them just not as much as little wheekers. I am a lover of all small pets guinea pigs have simply captured my heart like no other. if you ever can see if you can volunteer with guinea pigs and you'll probably get it too!

theres no real content warning apart from maybe excessive wealth, strong language, angry rowan, and Bradley Walsh. wrote this in twenty minutes pls enjoy. 729 words.

Cheese 

“Did you eat my Gorgonzola?”

“What?”

As Jimmy looks up from his phone and sees the positively miffed look on Rowans face, he can’t help but feel the need to laugh at him. He’s got a pink sheet face mask on with, honest to god, cucumbers under his eyes. But beyond the hydrating sheet, Jimmy can see the creases of his eyebrows and the frown distorting the mouth of the mask.

“Did you eat my Gorgonzola?” He’s holding up an empty container and waving it around. “I got it ordered yesterday. Jimmy, this cheese cost me, I shit you not, five hundred quid.” Jimmy gawks and Rowan ignores him. “I just wanted to try it, and now it’s gone.”

"No, Rowan. I didn’t eat your ridiculously overpriced mouldy cheese.” Jimmy puts his phone down. “You spent five hundred quid on cheese?”

“We all make bad decisions after wine, Jimmy.”

“Heard.” 

They both look at the new addition to the room, a grinning Lister Bird who props himself up on the counter, crossing his legs. He too has a face mask on, blue, with a ridiculous headband pushing his hair out of his face. It has comically large white bunny ears on top, and Jimmy truly doesn’t care to know where or when he got it. but unhelpfully, his brain reminds him of his Halloween costume from the year before.

“Hah hah, very funny.” Rowans tone is dry and rolls his eyes as he continues digging around in the fridge in the hopes that his cheese has simply been misplaced. Jimmy stands next to Lister, so they can both watch him.

“What’s he doing?” Lister asks as he crosses his arms. Jimmy sighs and leans slightly closer to him, his eyes never leaving Rowan.

"He's trying to find his cheese. He thinks I ate it.” Jimmy doesn’t necessarily whisper it, but he doesn’t speak loud enough to alert the occupied rowan. 

Lister has other plans. In a loud, chirpy tone, he happily informs them:

“Oh that? Dude, that reaked! It was all mouldy, so I threw it out.” Jimmy closes his eyes and counts to ten. He misses how Rowan's hands freeze in their shuffling of refrigerated items. His back is tense, and his eyes are also closed. Perhaps he too is counting to ten.

“You what?”

“I threw it out." Lister, as per usual, seems unbothered by the shift in tension. He looks genuinely confused. Jimmy almost feels bad for him. Almost.

“You threw it out?”

“Yeah? Dude, it was rancid. There was lit-“

Rowan peels off the cucumbers one at a time. Objectively, it’s hilarious to watch. But Jimmy is more concerned at the maiming Lister is about to receive to find it in him to audibly laugh. He does, however, have to cover his laugh behind a cough when Rowan also peels off the sheet mask and flings it onto the linoleum floor. His face is shiny with the serum of the mask, but still murderous looking.

Lister now seems to catch onto the tension as he laughs nervously and hops down from the counter. He has his hands out placatingly, and it’s not lost on Jimmy that he’s got them flat palmed. 

“Allister. That cheese was five hundred pounds.” Listers gulps, loudly. He laughs again but it has no humour, only fear. “I bought that five hundred pound cheese to enjoy with my relaxing face mask. I was supposed to be relaxing. We have Celebrity Chase tomorrow, and I intend to win. And to win, I need to relax tonight. Do I look relaxed, Allister? There was three steps to my relaxation. Fancy cheese, fancy wine, and a lovely calming face mask. And now two of those things are ruined. So, I ask again. Do I look relaxed?"

“You look great.” Lister is backing away from them now. “Gorgeous. Definitely the world's second sexiest man. You're glowing, really. I love what you've done with the eyebags. That cucumber worked a treat.” He trips over the bin but ignores it as he keeps making his way to the kitchen door. Rowan is advancing on him.

“Just run.” Lister doesn’t need to hear it from Jimmy twice before he’s turning and bolting down the corridor and up the stairs. Rowan follows him, hot on his heels.

“No murdering; we need him alive!” There is no answer to his call, but a second later, he hears a ridiculously high-pitched scream from Lister. Jimmy just sighs, opens Safari, and looks for replacements for Rowan's cheese.

Hi, so, you seem like the kind of person I should go to for this kind of thing.

I recently made a friend at my new high school who is autistic and uses all these weird terms and pronouns that I don’t personally really understand, I was hoping you could give me a decent understanding of what they talk about when they say they go by xenopronouns or age regress. I really want to be a supportive friend, but I don’t really understand.

How do I support my autistic friend?

OMG! I’m so happy you came to me for this. A lot of people (including but not limited to allistics/neurotypicals) have trouble understanding certain terms or what they mean or certain concepts and so on that autistic people use.

Look no further sweet children here I am to explain a ton of terms‼️ So all those definitions and explanations under the cut! Hope this helps!

Disclaimer: Some of the terms listed are NOT exclusively linked to autism. Some are. They’re just terms that are commonly used. HOWEVER. some are directly linked to autism and can’t be used by people without neurodivergencies. Thanks!!

lets start off simple. Xenopronouns!

These are commonly used by neurodivergent people who don’t feel like any kind of “normal” genders fit them, or that normal gender identities like male, female, nonbinary, etc, don’t exactly make sense to them. (I use xenos too!)

here are some examples of xenogender flags:

Catgender: A gender relating to or feeling aligned with cats. Pronouns commonly used under this identity (but not limited to) are Cat/paw/kit/kitten.

Clowncatgender: Commonly, xenogender users will create their own subsets of these genders, and Clowncatgender is an example of that. Its a gender alligned with cats but also clowns, confetti, etc!

Bunnygender: A gender relating to and alligned with bunnies! Common pronouns under this identity are Bunny/paw :] The Umbrella Xenogender Flag!: This flag is used by people who just go by xenopronouns who either use a lot or just like the concept and make their own pronouns.

Neopronouns are essentially the same thing ^^

Now lets learn how to use them!! say for example your friend started going by Cat/paw/bunny. How would you refer to them?

“Bunny told me about the science quiz.”

“Oh, cat was just telling me about the new spiderverse movie!”

”Paw is very nice.”

Age Regression.

Age Regression is not a term coined specifically for autism. People age regress for all sorts of different reasons, like to cope trauma or other mental health issues. But it’s also often used as a device for coping for individuals who are autistic!

Whats the official definition? Heathline.com says!!

“Age regression occurs when you mentally retreat to an earlier age. In all ways, you believe you're back at that point in your life, and you may exhibit childish behaviors, too. Some people choose to revert to a younger age. In this case, it can be a coping mechanism to help them relax and eliminate stress.”

Age Regression sometimes ties into xenogenders too, because some people have created xenogender identities related to age regression. These identities often begin with the prefix “agre”

Individuals who age regress may act childish, indulge in childish media, etc. It varies from person to person.

Kinning

Otherkin- Otherkin isn’t a term coined for autism but it is commonly used. Otherkin is when you allign yourself with an animal or any fictional creature for that matter, and feel that you aren’t entirely human or your soul isn’t entirely human.

Fictionkin- Fictionkin is a subset of kinning where you have a fictional character you relate to so much that you feel as if you are the character or are some kind of reincarnation.

Kinning- Kinning is not simply relating to a character, its seeing yourself in a character for a large portion of the series or media. You relate to them on a much more personal and spiritual level ^^

Stimming- Sometimes, expressing ourselves through words can be EXTREMELY difficult. So can self regulation. Stimming is our way of expressing emotions sometimes, such as happiness, sadness, anger, or anxiety. Sometimes we stim because we’re happy but sometimes its during a meltdown that it makes us feel better. Stims vary from person to person. It’s important not to tell them to stop or suppress their stims because it hurts us SO. MUCH.

Special Interests- Special interests IS a term coined specifically for autism. Its an intense love and focus for a specific topic, media, show, game, fandom, song, anything. Hyperfixation- A version of special interest that lasts only for a specific period of time, sometimes a few months, a few weeks, a few days, maybe even longer.

Comfort Items- Comfort items are used for a certain sense of security and safety. They can be ANYTHING. if they are lost it is the END OF THE WORLD. i cannot stress this enough, please validate their comfort items or things or rituals or whatever they do for comfort because it is SO IMPORTANT.

Now lets move on from all those definitions and terms. Lets go to

HOW DO YOU SUPPORT YOUR FRIEND?

While things they get upset about seem trivial to you or strange to be upset about, it’s important to remember that what seems trivial or stupid to you is EXTREMELY important to us. Like oh my fucking god. Being understanding and supportive goes such a long way.

How to deal with overstimulation or a meltdown? It really varies from person to person, since the symptoms of autism or what may cause a meltdown differs so much. But I cannot emphasize this enough, do NOT touch them during a meltdown. You’re gonna make things so much worse. Only do it if you KNOW they are okay with it or if you KNOW it will help them and it makes them feel better.

If its caused by sound- Get them out of that loud area or stop the flow of stimulus. Please do NOT compress them like autism speaks tells ypu to do. Autism speaks is a hateful group that spreads misinformation about autism, and is extremely focus on “curing” autism instead of stopping the hate, discrimination, and making sure they’re accommodated and safe.

Get them to a safe area and if you can’t, do everything you can to make sure they are not uncomfortable. Possibly cover their ears if they’e okay with being touched.

But I cannot tell you how to help them during a meltdown because I don’t know what helps THEM specifically! Beforehand or afterhand, ask them what they would want you to do during a meltdown. When they’re ok, when they’re safe. Dont start freaking out, because that only adds more stimulation to their already overstimulated brain!

(If possible, sometimes turning off the lights helps)

okay so first of all, how dare you, but second of all

some time last month i went to a place called The Paper Store because i thought it was gonna be stationary and like artsy shit but no it was just a hallmark gift store which was incredibly lame but i decided to look around inside anyways cause i was already there. this was just after halloween so all the christmas shit was in full-swing as were general like lame things to take up space under trees such socks that said "fuck this shit" hidden behind a sock-shaped cardboard sign that said "STRONG LANGUAGE MUST BE OVER 18" and a one-quart wine glass that said "JUST ONE MORE."

there was a jellycat section in there. if you aren't already aware, jellycat is a uk-based company that makes Very Good soft toys. I owned like four jellycats toys at this point, including a large Bashful Dragon which is my current favorite plushy here he is:
