“y/n, i am home!”
your brother's voice rang in the apartment and you smiled at him, straightening the hem of your apron from the kitchen. “i am in the kitchen, gumi.”
you watched him come into the kitchen, his face stoic like always that he inherited from his father, fushiguro toji. but his eyes softened as he saw you. “how was your day?”
“boring,” you clicked your tongue, “what about you?”
“mine too," he took a piece of the cookies that you had baked, “gojo sensei was asking about you.”
your eyes widened. did your brother come to know of the dating course or something? oh god. “what was he saying?” you tried your best to sound nonchalant.
“just how old you were,” he bit on the cookie, “i told him that he shouldn't even think of you.”
“gumi, you can't talk to your teacher like that!”
“you are too innocent,” he rolled his eyes, “he might be my teacher but he's not serious about women. he's better off away from you.”
as if you didn't know that. and yet.
“come, help me set the dinner now, will you?” you asked, changing the topic and sighed in relief when you saw him nod.
“oh, y/n?” megumi spoke out of nowhere when they were eating their dinner in silence. “can yuji and nobara stay here for a sleepover tonight? i forgot to tell you.”
you smiled. it was those rare moments that you felt like you did have a younger brother. megumi was too serious to act like a teenager most of the time. which you didn't like. he was a teen and he should be allowed to have fun.
“of course. have fun. i will be in my room if you need me.”
Tumblr media
gojo satoru smiled at his date sitting next to him. she was a blonde woman, tall and curvy. nothing like that specific girl in his mind. she had a smile on her lips as she stroked his hand.
“so, y/n chan, i—”
“aika,” the woman rolled her eyes, pulling her back, “my name is aika and not y/n. you have called me by that name two times now!”
he bit his inner cheek. what was he doing? he was supposed to flirt with his date and then end up in the bed with her. a healthy cycle. and thinking about y/n chan was definitely not healthy.
y/n chan. his student's older stepsister. the sweet innocent angel. imagine his surprise when you asked him to teach you how to date. you wanted to learn dating with him and then go and experience that with some other ‘serious, responsible family man’.
but wasn't it for the good? you deserved a kind and sweet man. and a jujutsu sorcerer like gojo satoru could never be that. he couldn't allow himself to get attached to a civilian.
“i need to go home, aika,” he pulled out an easy going grin, much to her flabbergast, “next time.”
as he slowly walked towards his apartment, he remembered how protective megumi had looked when he had asked about his sister. satoru sighed. as if he was some beast who would kidnap sweet you.
maybe he should text you good night. you said they were friends. and friends do that, right?
gojo satoru : good night, sweet y/n chan.
wait. wait. no. sweet sounded weird. he should delete it. but before he could delete it, he saw that you had already seen it.
y/n chan 🤍 : good night, gojo san.
he smiled. he could certainly get used to it.

Towards cuck ship anon (so sorry to phrase it that way) going as canon as possible the first person in the ship will always be anzu just because a few characters have already been implied to have romantic feelings for her, but even on a platonic stand point she literally knows everyone so her dating someone would in some way shape or form cuck the entirety of star pro. Because this game usually doesn’t explicitly states characters being romantic (can’t say never cause, well. Eichi. Rinne. etc.) but usually just heavily implies most things we kinda have the push the definition of cuck here-
What’s difficult is the second person. First thought was eichi but he feels like one of those characters who likes way more people than people like him and that was the same with a lot of characters after thinking about it, so the closest options would be ibara, (specifically because of his own producer status) madara and maybe hajime. This was dumb as hell where am i.
oh yeah that does make sense , i totally forgot about enstars era anzu ships. i only ship her with suzu lol

I am not snowflake anon but I wanna know more about your thoughts about Dumai and Nikeya
aaaa yes more people to ramble about a day of fallen night to!!!! ok will be putting my thoughts under a read more for spoilers
warning this got, uh, longer than I expected
so firstly with dumai in general, I loved the parallels between her and glorian. both had their positions of power thrust upon them unexpectedly (glorian expected to have many more years before she had to take the throne, dumai literally didn't even know she was royalty until like a few days before she went and had to claim her title as princess), both were seen as the sole hope for their houses, both were struggling to find their power amidst the politics of it all. but their endings were so different. in a way, glorian got the bad ending while dumai got the good ending. glorian is forced to have a child. she never gets to live in hróth and has to reject her birthright to it. she saves her people, but at the cost of herself. (of course, she does reclaim parts of herself in any way she can and becomes the warrior queen she always wanted to be, but there was still so much she had to give up and she ended up trapping her daughter in the same cycle)
meanwhile, dumai is also to save her people, but doesn't lose herself in the process. yes, she has to give up her magic and yes, she can't be with her wife in the way she wants to. but she doesn't have to bear a child to continue the house of noziken. she's able to go back to ipyeda and become the maiden officiant like she always wanted. dumai's ending is as close to a good ending as she could have and I think it's such a well done contrast between the two dream sisters.
now for dumai and nikeya specifically, ohhhhh I loved their relationship so much. the two of them have such an interesting dynamic. it takes so long for dumai to trust nikeya. and it's interesting how deeply-rooted dumai's dislike/distrust of the kuposa is when she's barely been in this world for a year. she didn't know anything about the kuposa clan until she learned who her father was. but she heard they were conniving and scheming and wanted to control the house of noziken and took that to heart. of course the river lord being responsible for the death of her grandfather and also just being an overly polite passive aggressive asshole to her definitely contributed, but I was definitely surprised how stubbornly dumai held to her distrust of nikeya. but at the same time I understand it because dumai has never loved something like she loved nikeya before. it wasn't only her distrust of nikeya because she was a kuposa, but dumai not wanting to open herself up to being hurt like that.
and nikeya... ohhhh I really really loved her as a character. I love how even in the earlier parts of the book from dumai's POV you can see her desire to be seen as more than her father's daughter. wanting to cut the strings he's using to puppet her and be her own person. how she genuinely cares about seiiki and wants to make sure dumai will be a good ruler. she struggles against the way she's been raised to be and reconciling it with the person she wants to be. she had to fight so hard to forge her own identity, especially in dumai's eyes. as she falls for dumai you can see her so desperately wanting dumai to see her as her own person instead of just as a reflection of her father. and I think, like dumai, that despite the drawbacks her ending is one of the best it could be. of course for nikeya the ending she would've chosen would've been her and dumai co-ruling with suzu as their heir, but dumai wouldn't have been happy being stuck at court. her soul always belonged on ipyeda and I think nikeya knew that. but the ending she gets instead is one where her talents/skills in court can flourish, and she can make sure seiiki turns into what she wants it to be. she can ensure it's ruled properly and make sure it's prepared for the new age they're now living in.
I think it's also so interesting that her family ate from the mulberry tree. I am so desperate for more information on the mulberry tree and neporo and all of that so I really hope eventually we get more information on how nikeya's family ties into that!!
(also, the fact that nikeya is a descendant of someone who ate from the mulberry tree and apparently still has enough siden in her blood to make her immune to the red sickness makes me wonder if sabran IX from priory would've been immune as well? since tunuva is one of her ancestors? just questions buzzing around my head)
anyway just. yeah. dumai and nikeya I love you both wish you could've had a normal marriage but I hope nikeya made plenty of trips to ipyeda for 'guidance from the godsingers' throughout her time as warlord ;)

you head to class to analyze the letter
30 minutes wasn’t too long and you knew suzue might go off on a tangent. she and the boys still might be busy, too. so you decide that it’s better to leave it for lunch when both you and suzue will probably have more time to talk. perhaps then you could also bring it up to the other boys that eat lunch with you—maybe they knew something? but you aren't 100% sure it's a good idea just yet...
once in your classroom, you greet a few of your classmates who’ve already settled down and then walk over to your desk. you sit yourself down, finding yourself growing eager and curious as to who had written you this silly love letter.
it was unique, you admit, but unorthodox and slightly inconvenient. nonetheless, the idea was fun and you knew that you’d be able to complete the challenge. whether or not the person behind the letter was someone you wanted to date did not matter as for now, there was a little scavenger hunt you were occupied with. you aren’t even concerned about the idea of bitter feelings at the end if perhaps you decided to reject this person. after all, there truly was still a chance you wouldn’t be able to figure out who this mystery person was in “7 business days.”
so you thought carefully, trying to figure out any sort of clues you had with just the letter and its contents.
first, this person is fucking hilarious. sure suzue had a part in it and the girl had jokes on jokes on jokes stored in her head, but actually pursuing the idea and even making the letter itself funny? you’d be lying if you said it didn’t make you giggle and excited that someone this funny was into you. you aren’t so sure, however, who could be this funny.
second, this person is smart and, perhaps, someone close to you. it was a clever idea to type out the letter despite knowing handwriting it would have been much more romantic with great sentimental value. but, in order to remain as anonymous as this person could, it seemed as though it just had to be typed—that then suggests that you probably would know this person’s writing. this doesn’t narrow down a person, however, since you knew almost the entire class’ writing since more often than not everyone shared their notes. or, in a different scenario, they aren't even in your class and are just being extra careful in general...
third, this person could possibly be close to suzue as well. suzue wasn’t popular by any means, but the school practically knows the both of you as a duo. suzue was also rather friendly which then made closeness irrelevant… it probably doesn’t matter whether or not this mystery person is close to suzue because she’d most likely help them out no matter what. plus, the girl loved giving you attention therefore she’d definitely do this for you.
fourth—
“y/n.”
you’re immediately pulled out of your thoughts at the call of your name. your head lifts and you smile, your eyes meeting osamu’s tired ones. you notice suna peaking from behind him, a small smile on his face.
“you look like you’re thinking real hard about something,” suna says, raising his brows at you, “forgot to do your homework or something?”
osamu chuckles. “maybe she’s constipated.”
you scoff. “oh come on, now.”
the two boys share a laugh before taking their seats, osamu right by your side (as your desk were flushed beside one another) and suna just behind you. he tugs at your collar, pulling you back closer to his desk and you roll your eyes. you turn to him and tilt your head slightly, silently asking him ‘what?’.
he smiles. “what’s got you thinking so hard though? for real?”
“if it’s cuz ya didn’t do yer homework, i didn’t either,” osamu yawns, lazily taking out his books. he takes out a wrapped onigiri with them. “i have suzue’s notebook though if ya wanted t' take 'er answers, too.”
you laugh. “no, samu, thanks. i did my homework last night.”
osamu shrugs. “doesn’t hurt ta double check yer answers. suzue’s at the top of 'er class fer literature.”
“i’ll double check mine,” suna says, getting up from his seat to pick it up and drag it around. he places it right in front of your desk as there was much more space. osamu had already cluttered his and classes haven’t even started. “let me triple check with yours, y/n.”
you roll your eyes, only pretending not to be willing as you were already halfway through getting your book out for suna before he finished his request. you hand your book to him and he opens it like it’s his own, beginning to check his answers. you watch him and osamu with a small smile as the two worked quietly and rather quickly since they had around 15 minutes before class started.
you took this time to once again dive into your head.
you then wonder… could it possibly be one of these two?

it’s lunch time!

Chance!!!!! 😭😭😭😭😭 I expected something to happen but I was still shocked when he was shot! And he was hurt saving Sissia yet again!!!!!
But….listen…..I need to put down this scene of Kisa and Suzu improvising down…Because these two babies are making me cry from how much they love each other….For context, Sissia is holding a dying Chance but Kisa isn’t saying her next line because she’s connecting how Suzu saved her and how even though he’s hurt he’s hiding it to protect Kisa and to keep the Univeil Performance going. And she thinks how in the situation with Chance and Sissia it wouldn’t feel right for Sissia to deny hers and Chance’s dream even though he’s hurt so badly, even though they love each other so much…
Suzu: …What are you thinking, Sissia? I want to hear it. Tell me…
Kisa: Chance…When that soldier knocked me over…You saved me. The truth is that…you were injured from that, weren’t you? If not, you’d never have wavered in your dance. Even now…If you hadn’t had that injury, this may not have happened. You hid it from me, didn’t you? For the sake of the Border Performance…For my sake…You were hiding it…
Suzu: I’ll save you in a much better way next time.
Kisa: That’s not what I mean…!
Suzu: But my body just moved on its own back then. It’s because you’re so precious to me. Because I’m always watching you. Hey, you know already, don’t you? …I love you. I’m madly in love with you. There are so many parts about you…that I love. When you start talking, the night turns suddenly into day, the sun rises straight to its highest point, and before I know it, it’s tinted in red…And night comes again, then is knocked back again by the morning sun…I love you in so many ways that this happens over and over again. That’s why…Can you go ahead and sing without me…? Make the Border Performance a success…Make our dream come true…And then…let the other Kielce members give you the praise you deserve…And after that, come listen to just how much I’m in love with you…Until my very last breath…Though it’d be disappointing if you didn’t want to hear any of that…
Kisa: Chance… (Suzu…I’ll…) I’ll make our wish come true. That’s why we’re standing on this stage now. To inspire dreams in people, just like the day we were inspired. All right…I’ll be going now.
Suzu: Yeah…Hey.
Kisa: Yeah?
Suzu: I love you.
Kisa: …Yeah.
Tumblr media
And then!!!! And then!!!! Everyone else from Quartz behind the scenes being supportive of Kisa and Suzu!!!!!! Having complete faith in the two and saying they’ll definitely be the new Jack Ace and Al Jeanne of Quartz. And Fumi and Kai recalling first seeing the pair during the auditions and thinking it’d be fun if they joined Quartz, and how right they were about that 🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹
And then Kasai and Mare being so hyped and excited for what Kisa is about to pull off. While Utsuri is over in the corner SEETHING 😂😂😂
And then, as Kisa is hyping herself up……….
Suzu: Wow, you look so dazzling from here…The figure of the person I love the most…

I'm sober this time
Mika has a bit too much to drink and Sam saves the day.
Kinda inspired by my fic "Drunk words are sober thoughts" I just switched the roles a bit.
Sam walked into the club, eyes searching for Mika. Suzu had called him, letting him know that neither she nor Naomi could give her a ride and that they didn’t want Mika going alone with an uber, as she was too drunk.
As soon as Suzu saw Sam, she ran over frantically. “I don’t know where she’s at. I tried to keep her still but damn, even drunk that girl is sneaky.”
He started to become worried, knowing how clueless Mika could be when she was drunk, and the possibilities of different outcomes flashed through his mind.
Unfortunately, he wasn’t too far off. His eyes finally landed on his roommate and crush, who wore a tight light blue dress, her long raven colored hair flowing around her body. She was staring at a man who’d grabbed her by the wrist, moving to feel her up.
Mindful to not use his superspeed, Sam rushed over to the two and broke her free from the stranger’s grasp. Her eyes lit up at seeing him, smiling widely as she spoke, completely slurring her words. “Sam! Ooooh, you should get a drink, we-”
“I’m not drinking, we're going home” he said, cutting her off. She pouted, which he couldn’t help but admit was kinda cute, but apparently the strange man wasn’t done with them.
“Come on, I’ll buy you a drink,” he offered, moving to touch her. Sam didn’t give him the choice, however, grabbing his arm tightly enough to bruise. The man whimpered a bit, trying to pull away but failing.
Sam was faintly aware of the eyes on him, and the fact that Mika needed to get home, so he let the man go. “Don’t even think of trying anything else.” Sam warned, and once the man had quickly walked away, he turned around to find Mika and…
Shit! Where did she go? Sam began to search, calling her name as he moved through the club. He needed to find her before she got into more trouble.
Finally, he found her again, ordering a drink for herself. Sam rushed over; no way was she drinking more. “Hey, we’re leaving. No more drinks.” He said, and the bartender seemed to agree judging the grateful look she was giving him.
“But Saaaam.” She pleaded. “One more?”
As tempted as he was, he shook his head. “No.”
She stuck her bottom lip out slightly but didn’t protest when Sam lightly placed a hand on her back and led her out. He didn’t miss her lack of coordination though and was already prepared to catch her when she started to fall. She only laughed while Sam picked her up bridal style, waving slightly at Suzu and Naomi who were walking out as well, and going outside.
He could feel her gaze burning into his skin as he carried her to the car and ignored it until one of her hands went to cradle his cheek as she giggled softly. “You’re kinda cute.”
Sam blushed and shook his head. “Sure I am, Doofus.”
Mika began to laugh more, confusing the hell out of Sam until she explained. “I like it when you call me Doofus.”
He raised a brow, glancing at her as he laughed softly. When he got her settled into the car, she seemed to have calmed down a bit. Getting back to the Mansion, he used his super speed to scoop her up before she could try and walk. “Thank you, fine gentleman.” She joked.
Sam rolled his eyes playfully. “Yeah whatever.”
When they got inside, the others were coming to the lobby when they arrived. “Is she okay?” Matthew asked.
Sam shrugged. “Just some alcohol, she’ll be fine.”
Mika began to snicker behind her hand. “Yall are drama queens. Even Sam.”
Damien chuckled slightly at her drunk thoughts as him and the others returned to their respective activities. Sam shook his head and started up the stairs when Mika started to comb through his hair. “I think I like you.” She said plainly, and Sam felt his heart squeeze painfully.
She was drunk, badly. She didn’t like him; she’d say the same thing to any of his brothers. “You have a nice jaw.” Yep. Definitely drunk.
He walked in her room, setting her down so she could get ready for bed. Mika, however, had other plans. She kept her arms around his shoulders even as he set her on her feet, smiling at him. “Do you like me?”
Sam frowned a bit. “You’re drunk.”
Sam hated how sad she suddenly looked, his knees threatening to give out on the spot. But no matter how much he wanted to tell her how he felt, he needed to do it when she was sober. Hoping to make it seem like less of a rejection, he moved to ruffle her hair with his hand. “If you wanna talk in the morning, we will.” He offered.
She smiled softly as she walked away from him, fumbling as she went to find clothes. Sam took this as a sign to leave for bed, so he awkwardly left the room, leaving her by herself.
*
The next morning, Sam sat in his room as he watched YouTube on his phone. The night before was fresh on his mind, and her drunken confession almost felt like torture. Her face when he didn’t claim to reciprocate hurt even worse. But she’d been drunk, she’d wake up today and be super embarrassed, and-
A knock on the door broke Sam from his thoughts, and when he opened the door, he was surprised to see Mika. She looked disheveled, pale too, but she had a soft smile. He prepared himself for her to say she hadn’t meant it.
“I like you, and I’m sober this time.”

you should tell us the tale of how you first got into gbf
Ooouh boy what a tale what a tale!
Under the cut because i rambled but the short story, is, my two best friends lured me in with one of my fav trope, with gorgeous men, and with indulging into my seiyuu madness.
the longer story:
The two main culprits in getting me into Granblue are two of my bestest friends, @/nalhegrande (Suzu) and @/baconplasm (Bacon). We've been friends since 2015 or so, we met via the dgm fandom revival of the time, and we've been tight knit ever since. Also at the time my blog was very ff7 themed and my url was a reference to it, which also got the two of them interested in it (relevant to the story)
anyway back in 2019 was my major Hypmic phase, so i was starting to really be into seiyuu then (and i was a huge huge fan of Saito Soma as a result). Suzu and Bacon both were playing Granblue a lot.
First thing that happened was around Granblue's 5th anni, March 2019, when 000 came out, and Suzu was reading Paradise Lost in preparation. Because Suzu busted into my DMs going "ICHA YOU WONT BELIEVE IT, SAKURAI AND SUZUKEN ARE DOING LIVING LEGACY STUFF AGAIN". Because Suzu, knowing me from my "living legacy" url days, knew exactly how to hit me with a truck, as i've been obsessed with over a decade with that trope i saw in ff7 of "the person you looked up to and cared about died in your arms and the only way you can cope is to become their legacy, to become them. But you need to find yourself again.". Which was originated by characters Suzuken and Sakurai voiced at the time.
(Suzuken and Sakurai who themselves were also there during the dgm days. the rabbit hole runs deep. dgm also has Living Legacy tropes to it btw to express how on brand it is for me. And while their characters are super important to me (my current url is a reference to the character Suzuken used to voice, it IS one of the most important character in my life), i did discover them with their roles in ff7, who genuinely shaped my life, so telling me they were replaying the same dynamic somewhere else was a siren song.)(yes that's why i never lived down the Sakurai incident lol.)
Anyway because i'm a sucker for those plots, Suzu explained it to me in major details and in tears, of Paradise Lost AND of Zero and i couldn't help but be invested, so i definitely developped an affection for Sandalphon and Lucifer just then.
(Suzu killed me by mentioning that one of my fav song, that i associated to my Living Legacy pair over here, also fit Lucifer and Sandalphon, and it immediately won me over. Stream Saturn by Sleeping at Last.)
But at the time i wasn't really fan of gacha on principle, so i didn't want to get into it, and everything to get into seemed tedious (i was seeing them tweeting raid battles everytime and all i thought was "yeah no i do not want to be perceived, hard pass"). So eventually while i thought about checking it out, i didn't actually feel like it.
Flashforward a few months during the Summer season. I see the two of them regularly lose their mind over their favorite characters. (at the time Suzu was mainly focusing on Heles and Cain. I say "at the time" because Wilnas is now one of her main husband and he wasn't even a raid battle back then. And Bacon is a Vane stan through and through and a fan of the Knights by extension.). Both of them also really like Percival!
(also yes they posted about Belial once i a while, and i knew more or less his deal then, but i admit he didn't do anything to me then. this might be the most shocking part of this story considering literally everything about this blog, and also the fact he started haunting my dreams before i officially read wmtsb, and i haven't caught a break since.)
anyway Summer 2019 was the year of LanVane SR Unit AND Percival's EX summer art. And of Summer Sandalphon while at it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
so all of those things were flooding my TL on twitter. Just couldn't scroll anywhere without seeing those.
I cared for Sandalphon thanks to Suzu at this point so i was *points* everytime i was seeing him. I've identified Vane as Bacon's boy so i was fully seeing him as a Blorbo in law at this point.
But it was my first time running into Lancelot and Percival.
And i fell in love with Percival in this one singular art.
Like i looked at it thinking he was the single most gorgeous man that had ever graced my screen. Everytime my friends were retweeting this picture i would freeze a second and stare at it mumbling "it can't be right".
Eventually i shot Bacon a message about it especially since she was the one posting most about it. But i did one slight mistake when i told her "yeah that guy you keep posting? i think i have a case of the down bad, can you tell me more about him" -------- i mixed up Lancelot's and Percival's names.
And so instead she mostly shared Lancelot and Vane stuff, and i didn't realize it was because i was wrong on the name, i just thought she went on a tangent. But because i was interested suddenly Bacon tried to grapple me in by doing what Granblue Fans do best: "if you think he's pretty WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT HIM--" and she shared pictures of various characters, including, of course, Mister Sieg's Yukata art. (while i was losing my mind because i knew his VA (Kakashi from Naruto's fame, Angeal from ff7) so it was also a thing)
Anyway also this was the funniest bit of this exchange:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
screenshots taken before a disaster.
you'll notice that because she just called Percival "that bitch" and because i mixed up the names causing a misunderstanding well. She couldn't properly exploit my thirsting on Percival's summer art. And Belial had to insert himself in this conversation first.
... and that's the day i started the game. or, at least, made an account.
I got very lost at the time, so the three of us made a group chat then to keep discussing gameplay stuff, and well, about anything under the sun.
They held my hand through it slowly, i participated to the summer free pulls (falling in love with Summer!Rosetta this way) and all... but i didn't play long enough to be hooked so i ended up falling off, but with the promise to my friends i'll get to it eventually.
Percival, most gorgeous man on earth, was slipping through my fingers.....
(though eventually misunderstanding was cleared lmao and friends were like "yeah actually that tracks, but we won't say a word, just come and see him")
Anyway i was hard in hypmic at the time, and especially into Saito Soma's career as a singer because of it. So my friends were also trying desperately to hook me in with various characters that shared those seiyuu, the biggest catch at the time being Shiva.
Because Soma's character then only had a SR and very little important contents. It took a few years for Feather to get some serious stories after all :). (plus he is in a total different range than i'm used to when it comes to that) (also ironically i kept pulling Randall's units over Feather's units, which originally annoyed me but then i found it really funny i kept pulling the guy who wanted to see Feather and couldn't find him. the irony of the fact i had songs by the two of them (and Lu Woh's VA) on my phone at the time escaped me for about a year (bc i admit i wasn't a major fan of the music unfortunately), where Randall was still my underrated R/SR fav character, not ready to handle the fact his seiyuu was going to play my favorite a3's character and definitely ruin my life the moment i realized he was there in gbf being a fav all along.)
On this journey, because i listened to a lot of others Soma's bands, one of the major draw ended up being the fact i listened to another band he was in with Eguchi Takuya, so when Bacon started to talk about Vane's seiyuu, i was here and armed with "oh yeah i have flirty songs by him" and having this torture device (affectionate) was a huge motivation to get into gbf even more to bully my dear friend.
then in September/October A3 came out and it ate my life away so it halted me getting more into gbf at this point (and EguTaku being in it i could still continue my torture agenda)(we all kinda got in it so it was still madness.)
Anyway then again in my usual fashion of "i don't get into hyperfixation, hyperfixation gets to me (by hunting me down for sports)" i ended up randomly having a dream about Percival, which i totally forgot about, but i was so worked up about it i grabbed the game again in November 2019 and just binged a chunk of the main story and the Dragon Knights events.
This whole mess was its own long story, because it turned out i didn't end up liking Percival in his first event appearance and i was betrayed as hell, but BFAF made me reconsider everything about him and now i'm a Percival expert and lover. But my friends were then allowed to see me in full downspiral.
But it sealed my fate. After that, i was too hooked and i didn't want to leave anymore. And while i took some breaks here and there bc of burn out, i've been playing Granblue daily ever since.
then in December or January (right in time for Light GW then) Suzu dragged me into her crew, and Bacon joined in eventually - and since both of our crew had the same problem (half of our crew was inactive, the other half was tight knit though), we ended up merging the crews' active players together, and now here we are and we've been at it for years.
(and i've read wmtsb around February/March 2020 for the full timeline - since 000 and the maydays weren't in the sidestories i had to watch them on youtube then too. I know it was the date bc it was right in time for Seeds of Redemption, the 6th anni event, and it was the most emotionally overloaded period for me as a result lmao. But it basically sealed my fate then, no way i turn away from this game after just how emotionally packed this one month was.).
so that's the long story.
the short story:
My two best friends informed me of a lovestory's trope similar to the one story that destroyed my life, of the most gorgeous man on earth, and fed right into my seiyuu madness, and now i'm stuck here with all of you to discuss Belial's balls.
the more you know, and now you know who to blame. (be nice to them, or else 🔪.)
i hope the read wasn't too tedious ahah
Take care ;D

I would love to know more about how long Suzu had been on U, really. It looked like Bell had blew up overnight, but for there to be remixes of her songs, she must have been singing for a little while.
We know that by the time she was about to give that fateful concert in the Spherical Stage -or whatever its name was- Kei had been Dragon for seven months. Him and Tomo already had accounts and AS-es in U, since Angel was there to compliment Suzu on her first day.
So, less than seven months, but definitely more than a couple of days. Add to that, that Hiroka had been managing Suzu's profits, and her costumes -over 30, I'd say...more than a month by that time? Just about? A little more?
And then, she spends a stupidly long amount of time searching for the Dragon, putting her singing on pause, following at first Hiroka's crusade to unveil him because he was the reason the concert got canceled -not really his fault, Justin and the Justices chased him there, he was probably just escorting Angel to the concert.
And that search to unveil, becomes a quest to understand and connect with him for Suzu and Hiroka follows along, even though she was originally down to expose him, having abandoned it all together by the time Suzu sang Dragon his song and had their dance.
Hiroka must have also visited the castle at least once, a) for the AIs to be with her when Justin up and abducted Bell and b) for her to warn Suzu about the attack on the Dragon's castle -though that could be also because they were live-streaming the attack.
And how much time did Suzu spend with Kei and Tomo in their castle, for Dragon to decide and have his AIs shadow Bell to keep her safe?

Short Reflection: Belle
In a sense, Belle feels like the movie that Mamoru Hosoda has been building up to his entire life. Looking back at his work, Hosoda is primarily obsessed with three themes that appear time and time again in his movies. 1: Fairy tales (Wolf Children, Boy and the Beast). 2: Sci-fi, particularly time travel and cyberspace (The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, Summer Wars). 3: How those fantastical elements intersect with naturalistic, real-life stories of family and coming of age (Literally all those previous films). Those three themes permeate Hosoda’s filmography, but they’ve never all intersected at once... until now. Here, at last, we have a near-future sci-fi yarn that uses cyberspace to re-imagine a classic Disney fairy tale as the backdrop of a classic teenage coming-of-age story involving complicated family matters. All of the director’s fixations have finally been married in a single package, the definitive example of everything that inspires his creative process.
It’s just a shame the end result is such a disaster.
Okay, “disaster” is probably too harsh. Belle is far from the worst film ever made, and in the rare moments where everything clicks together, it’s damn near perfect. But my god, this movie is a mess. It’s at least three different stories fighting for attention at once, never coming together in the way they’re so clearly trying to, continuously pushing each other out of focus so no one thread is ever developed enough to matter. It jumps back and forth between ideas with minimal justification. It switches its emotional core at least twice without properly resolving what came before. And when it tries to tie everything together for the climax, it runs into yet more problems that transform what should have been a barn-burner ugly cry masterpiece of a finale into a confused and troubled message that doesn’t seem to know what it’s saying and might even end up saying some unintentionally really shitty things. I have liked and loved so much of Hosoda’s work, but this is unquestionably the worst thing he’s ever put out.
Our story, as you can probably guess from the name, is a take on Beauty and the Beast. Well, sort of. It actually starts with our protagonist Suzu joining the new cyberspace world U, a place I can only describe as VR Chat on all the steroids ever. It’s basically an entirely new virtual world that’s supplanted or fully integrated all other forms of social media, so the entire digital world uses it as a community hub. And if you’re already thinking this sounds suspiciously like the premise of Summer Wars, well, yeah. Hosoda likes his motifs, what can I say?
Anyway, the reason Suzu is drawn to U is because it’s an outlet for her to rediscover her love of singing. Singing was something that she shared with her mother, but after her mother died saving someone else’s kid from a flood, Suzu sunk into a depression that basically crippled her ability to sink without descending into a mess of emotions. The real world has become a listless place for her, a place where her connections to other people- including her father, who god bless him is trying his best to carry on- fray and fade more and more every day. But in the virtual world, hidden safely behind an anonymous, much-prettier-than-her-real-face avatar? Suddenly, she’s able to connect with those emotions again and sing unchained by her trauma. And thanks to a lucky video of her performances going viral, she suddenly finds herself possibly the most famous person in the digital frontier, a mega-diva whose songs inspire millions without anyone knowing who she really is. Everyone flocks to hear her sing, she’s beloved and over-scrutinized by everyone... while in real life she’s still an emotionally stunted teenage girl trying to reconnect with what it means to find happiness in life.
It’s at this point in my plot summary that a lot of you are probably asking, “Okay, but where does the whole Beauty and the Beast thing come in? Because that seems like an awful lot of setup for an entirely different movie that doesn’t leave much room for that Disney homage I was promised.” And... yeah.
Yeah.
This is what I mean about Belle feeling like multiple stories fighting for attention. After speedrunning the mom-death-to-digital-superstar plotline I mentioned above with liberal use of montage, the Beast literally comes crashing through the wall of one of Belle’s concerts, and she decided to take an interest in the bestial avatar pursued by justice-seeking mobs because... well, pretty much because. It literally feels like the story’s been hijacked and yanked down an entirely different path than the one it was setting up. And from then on, the plot just never comes together, it bounces back and forth between Suzu’s teen-melodrama struggles in the real world and full-on Disney homage in the digital world, but there’s almost nothing tying them together until the finale. The two sides of Suzu’s journey feel so disconnected they might as well be separate movies. And sometimes it feels like not even Hosoda understood these two stories were supposed to be part of the same movie. Suzu literally has two romantic subplots running simultaneously, one in the real world with her childhood friend and one in the digital world with the beast, and never once does it acknowledge the fact that she’s pining after two guys at once. It’s like she entirely forgets the other guy exists as soon as she leaves his world behind and goes right back to devoting all her attention to the other dude. This is literally the easiest conflict generator you can come up with in a YA story, and Belle can’t even do that right.
And because of this disconnect, both sides of the story are left feeling painfully skin-deep and skeletal. We don’t even get to hear Suzu sing once before her mom dies, so the attempts to wring drama out of her re-finding her voice in U feel like development for a conflict we never even set up. This should be the driving force of the movie’s emotional core, but because the setup is so rushed en route to aping Disney, huge parts of it feel like an afterthought. And the cyberspace side of things is somehow even worse. I don’t ask for exhaustive realism in my speculative sci-fi, especially one that’s literally based on a fairy tale, but I could write a whole separate essay on how U’s world makes no goddamn sense as anything beyond paper-thin allegory. It seems to exist as a perfect libertarian utopia where everyone has true freedom and everyone gets along perfectly, which is so laughably Not How Real Life Works I have to wonder if Hosoda’s actually, like, spent time on the internet at all. The closest it comes to doing something clever with the concept is re-imagining the Gaston figure trying to kill the beast as essentially a moral police doxxer who goes around trying to unmask “dangerous” users’ public identities while spouting the rhetoric of self-righteous justice to justify his hate campaign. But even that is shamefully under-utilized because of how fragmented the narrative is.
Actually, that’s a lie, the best part of the whole cyberspace side of things is a brief moment where Belle’s exploding popularity is showcased by people remixing her songs into different musical styles like electro-swing and hard rock. As someone who’s consumed his fair share of Megalovania jazz covers, I had to laugh at how accurate that was to the online experience.
But it’s in the Beauty and the Beast re-creation itself where Belle’s biggest ambitions and failures lie. Because of how little reason we’re given for Suzu to care about the Beast, every scene she has with him, recreating or paying homage to the most famous beats from the original Disney movie, feels hollow. It’s not until we reach the final act and finally discover the Beast’s identity in the real world that it becomes clear what this whole enterprise is even about. And good god, it is a can of worms. I won’t spoil anything, but the final act is where Belle finally starts trying to pull all its disparate threads together, connecting Suzu’s emotional trauma to what the Beast is suffering and dropping in some uncomfortably real portrayals of familial abuse and the difficulties our world has responding to it. It’s the moment the fairy tale crashes into reality, where the larger-than-life emotions become a vessel to channel something real and raw and powerful... and it ends up Disney-fying the issue to such an extent it honestly feels kind of insulting. You cannot treat real, grounded abuse the same way you treat a fairy tale about a monstrous being learning to love again. You cannot wave a magic wand over something this potent and pretend that makes everything okay. Hosoda used to be so good at marrying the grounded and fantastical sides of his stories, but ever since Wolf Children he’s just been getting worse and worse at it. You were a pro at this, man, what happened?
Look, I don’t hate Belle. If I’m honest, I don’t even dislike it. It’s a wildly ambitious movie trying to do so much at once, and it’s so earnest about it I want to root for it on principle. If nothing else, it’s certainly a gorgeous-looking movie, and the entirely-CG portrayal of the digital world marks another strong step forward for gorgeous and artistic CG anime. Belle’s avatar in particular does a freakishly good job of capturing the precise feel and movement of modern day Disney Princess design; you could slot her into Frozen and she wouldn’t feel out of place. But when the best, most fully realized scene in your movie is a romantic confession between two minor side characters with almost no impact on the main plot (I’m not even kidding, that scene is fucking wonderful), something has clearly gone wrong. Despite trying to say so much at once, it just isn’t well constructed enough to properly say anything at all. And unless Hosoda pulls himself out of this slump very soon, we may sadly have to come to terms with the fact that his days as a certified master are behind him. Until then, I give Belle a score of:
4/10
God, that was disappointing. Please let his next movie be better.

i need more of ur anzu x idol rambles PLZ theyre so good if i cld inject it to my brain i wld do so /pos
*cracks knuckles* how much time do we have? I could do this all damn day t b h.
okay here's a random thing i love about anzu- not entirely related to this but still: EVERYONE KNOWS CANONICALLY HOW DAMN THIRSTY SHE IS TO SEE GUYS WHO ARE BARELY CLOTHED WITH MUSCLES. slight spoilers for madara's fs1 story will be in the tags so tread lightly if you wanna experience that yourself. just- she has a clear type in men. at least as far as physicality goes.
and for women??? SUZU. ARASHI. SHE LOVES HEADSTRONG WOMEN WHO TAKE NO SHIT.
ANYWAY SHIPS
This is gonna get long so im putting it under cut- im doing this right before i go to bed bc my brain will not rest until i get this out of my system
Okay. I know which ships I'll end up rambling about on my own. So lemme highlight ones that i may not talk about as much but love still. idk if u wanted to hear horny rambles or not so im just throwing in first time stuff as flavour.
MakoAnzu
MAKOTO AND ANZU ARE THE CUTEST. EPIC GAMER LOSER BF AND GIRLBOSS/GIRLFAIL GF COMBO. idk if it makes sense but they're like. hs sweethearts that never actually got together in hs and only realized it later when they reconnect or something that they're so totally in love. also he's just so damn goofy it balances out her more serious side that took over after her failed rebellion attempt at kimisaki. like he'd start calling her his favourite trouble maker if he heard that story. OOOOUUU MAYBE HE'D EVEN START CALLING HER ANGIE AND SHE NEARLY CRIES BC NO ONE CALLS HER THAT ANYMORE BESIDES HER BROTHER. idk they're sweet.
the first time they do it together, they're both so awkward that it's funny but they're so comfy with each other that it isn't a problem. in my mind, mako tries to lead at first but when it gets too hot and heavy, anzu takes charge. they seem like the most realistic couple out there with the least amount of angst~
JunAnzu
okay now to talk about Makoto's gaming buddy with her instead HFDSF. i feel like this anzu ship is a lil underrated. i personally love it. he has canonically given in to her like 🥺 face. they're relationship is basically jun teasing her and anzu pouting until he feels bad and it's cute. moon and sun vibe. also. jun is in eden/eve. he has money he's not spendin on himself. he may not give the most lavish gifts or even the most gifts in terms of anzu ships, but he does buy her little trinkets and stuff. more often than not though he's just paying for her meals. even with gatekeeper cash and the anzu fund made in the graduation story, he's not letting her spend a cent if she doesn't have to. if questioned he'd just be like "Haaah? Ain't it rude to make the lady pay?" but in reality he just wants to spoil her. the entirety of trickstar is gonna start questioning her though if they notice they're getting close. And i bet ibara is going to investigate why half of eve is meddling with the competition's producer.
their first time is spontaneous. they never talked before hand about it or whatever. it probably was them destressing from a hard day at work. PERSONALLY- i think they did it in the ES gym~ and god anzu was so scared theyd get caught. BOTH of them know Ibara goes down to the gym after work but luckily a meeting ran long or something because by the time they were done and dressed, they could just pass it off as training when ibara walked in.
HiMEAnzu
okay this is definitely a rare one- but a ship ive grown fond of the more i thought about it. meru and anzu are both work oriented, but still a little silly deep down. so when they relax and get to know each other, they find the others presence so calming. he admires her for her work ethic and she does the same. god im pulling out the first idol story interactions with this one as well- he let his guard down near completely when they first meet. and he says something like "like attracts like" or something like they're kindred spirits and that he's fallen for her. that last part was probs just his attempt at joking fanservice, but he is aware that he could easily pull anyone he wants to. for anzu to just talk normally with him, he thinks it's refreshing and honestly- being in a unit like crazyb, he would want someone calm like her to be around.
here's the big catch though: meru would never risk kaname's idol image by dating ANYONE. let alone the person known as "everyones producer." so this ship is BUILT for "at arms length" pining/"we'll never know what could've been" angst
their first time is the most planned out of all three of these ships. not on anzu's side, but himerus. meru is really meticulous with his image and he respects anzu. so if he's going to do something with her, he's going to do it right and make sure they have the most privacy possible. it's def something that happens after a VERY romantic date. possibly an anniversary. he gets incredibly intimate. maybe he'd even start talking in first person. this is, after all, not a performance for anyone. he just wants to share this moment with anzu. that being said they go on for a long ass time because meru has stamina and anzu can get insatiable if teased long enough.

officially done with tales of phantasia!! i'm so glad i finally sat down and completed the first tales game that started it all :) some random junk thoughts below:
it was definitely really cool seeing all of the events, items, places, artes etc that would eventually be referenced again in symphonia. every time they would mention something that i had heard/seen first in symphonia, i'd be like that leonardo-dicaprio-pointing meme. i would especially get super excited when the fighting of the spirit theme would play when fighting the summon spirits. ugh that song just goes so damn hard, even the psx version!! i think i mentioned it before but it must have been sooooo awesome to play symphonia the first time it came out for those original phantasia fans. the amount of callbacks that there are between the two games is just insane and as a die-hard symphonia fan, i definitely enjoyed every single one of them
special mention to the derris emblem because, although it was super random how you get the emblem (some stranger at a bar gives it to you?? or sells it??), the derris emblem inclusion in symphonia now makes a bit more sense lol.
interesting to see that the church of martel still exists in phantasia. i would have thought that because of that one skit in dawn of the new world where zelos mentions that the church of martel's days are numbered, that it was a reference to the church not being around in phantasia anymore, so it was surprising to see them still kicking around.
the plot twist as to why dhaos is so bent on destroying anyone who uses magitech was not so much as a plot twist having come from symphonia, but even then the game gives you plenty of hints as to what magitech does. still, for a series that's known for its plot twists, this one didn't really have any shocking ones. not really griping on it cus i mean this game is pretty old but i was expecting something larger for its big reveal at the end lol.
that said, the battles at the end were cool, especially the theme that played during dhaos's last transformation. also, i'm guessing dhaos's last phase inspired mithos yggdrasil's design?
luna's summon is so powerful (i had her summon turned on pretty much always except for the final battles) and it's kind of sad how much it was watered down for symphonia.
arche's spells are the MVP of the game. once i finally was able to afford a mystic charm or whatever to speed up her casting, it was over for everyone!
i spent the whole damn game not truly understanding how holy bottles work. even when i'd be in the overworld definitely overleveled in comparison to the overworld enemies, i'd still get encounters. i'd still use them in hopes they would reduce them at least a bit lol.
speaking of, the random encounters weren't so bad but towards the end i was just pretty much fed up with them D: i think for the last three or so dungeons i was just using guides to know exactly where to go because getting lost ON TOP OF having random encounters is NOT fun and i felt like it was ruining the experience for me.
no offense to chester but i never once even considered having him as my party member after he came back. and like, the game gives you chester when you're like 2/3s through and it's like, why? between arche and klarth i felt like i had no reason to ever consider him, and catching him up level- and equipment-wise with other characters was just too much of a hassle so i just stuck with cless-arche-klarth-mint always.
although i started suzu's sidequest and seeing her and the ninja village was definitely cool because Sheena!!!, i didn't finish it since i saw that you'd have to be at least level 60 to complete it due to the coliseum fights and i was like, level 42 when i went into the final dungeon lol. so i might come back to it later since i want to see how it turns out. i know she joins your party but again, at this point unless you want to do it for completionist sake it's like, why D: sorry suzu! still so damn cool that she's so skilled and she's only like freaking 12 years old. before playing phantasia i thought she was going to have a bigger role in the game but hey, this is cool too.
the plot of the game was interesting and the time traveling aspect was cool but, i think overall it just felt kind of flat. after fighting dhaos a SECOND time and him escaping to the future or whatever it was like, "how many times do we have to teach you this, old man?" the game didn't really have any interesting secondary characters to the plot like botta or altessa: sure there was morrisson but that was only at the beginning and yeah his death was sad but after that, you mostly just spend going dungeon to dungeon searching for summon spirits or ways to get stronger to defeat dhaos--not that many secondary plots. again just being picky and i know this is a SNES game but yeah the overall plot got sort of meh after the second time beating dhaos.
the ending was ok, i'm glad to see that arche finally reunited with her mom :)
anyway, overall it was a good game i'd say. the graphics in the game are soooo good to look at and it was the type of SNES-style graphics game i had been itching to play. i know there's an OVA adaptation of the game which i'll have to check out and see what that's all about--i wonder if there will be more interactions between the characters? i kind of felt that the connection between the party members wasn't all there, especially once chester joins.
either way, i'm glad i can now add phantasia to my list of tales games completed, and even more glad that i can now move on to FINALLY start my replay of berseria!!! ohhhh i'm ready to get my heart destroyed again!!

some wild cards for the ask game- elle and/or suzu since it was her birthday recently!! love you guys 🩷
Tumblr media Tumblr media
OH MY GOSH MOLLY THIS IS LIKE WHAT 2 MONTHS LATE IM SORRYYYYY. [ask] THANK YOU FOR SENDING THIS IN. GENUINELY ❤️🙏 I'll just do a general opinion for Elle because she is just a little guy but Suzu will be under the read more! we love you too!
Tumblr media
ELLE NISHINO
General Opinion over said character: so much unending love in my heart!!! I did not know what to expect going into the game. she was so mysterious and had so very little to her name at the start but the more we learned the more I got attached and both of us have this funny little thing with kuromaya that they're her self inserted stage parents because of how much she loves maya. it's so cute. she's so cute!! her entire story with frontier tugged on my heart like crazy and was just so special to me. she's a fantastic character too i love the dreamscape and the trope of her stories coming to life, it's such a shame that's all they did with her, left her to the main story and there she stays. i hope in the future they at least give us another card or two with her in it, maybe like a memoir or something. i felt like what she set up for everyone was really important given everything, so it's a little sad to see that arc over already!! i'm rambling but all in all i think she's a wonderful addition to the stage girl roster and I thought what they did with her story was incredibly fun and new, albeit a bit strange at first going into everything especially with all the changes after the anime but I really think she deserving of more love from the dev team and people in general ! Elle is like the brooke page of revue starlight
SUZU MINASE
Sexuality Headcanon: this may very well be me projecting my bestie friends onto their kins teehee but Suzu is pansexual in my heart of hearts. they are a total lover
Gender Headcanon: transgender!! transmasc or transfem, it could literally go either way to me, it changes daily because both make sense. any pronouns or simply a he/her or a she/him!
A ship I have with said character: loving attachments to suzu / mahiru and "traffic light trio" (suzu/hisame/koharu) you honestly cannot make me choose ♡
A BROTP I have with said character: Suzu and Sakura!! Suzu and Mahiru!! Suzu and Hisame/Koharu!! Suzu and Karen/Hikari!! Suzu and Claudine, Suzu and Futaba, Suzu and the siegfeld juniors !!! the list goes on and on for sure she's so lovable and tries to befriend everyone, she has an infectious laugh and a charismatic personality. those by name stand out to me the most given their bond stories or interactions in the stage plays :3
A NOTP I have with said character: Suzu and Sakura is a personal one, and obviously pairings that are gross to ship (juniors or teachers). otherwise I don't think any of them would be inherently weird or "bad" to ship! haven't given it much thought!
A random headcanon: I think that while suzu loooves giving nicknames she's absolutely abysmal at terms of endearment and pet names. she's not necessarily bad at romance and compliments, she's very charismatic, kind, and even a bit touchy by nature, but she can be veeerrrryyy unserious and it definitely comes out when she's flustered, backed into a corner, or nervous (ie; flirting with someone she has feelings for or having embarrassed herself in front of them). she has a lot of humility though and bounces back very quickly, able to try again whether or not it was successful! and anyone she's pining after definitely has a soft spot for it, and wouldn't change it for the world.
General Opinion over said character: oh. my. gosh! i love all 3 of the seiran girls so so so much Blue Glitter literally changed me as a person fundamentally i think. Live #2 did as well obviously and of course, but Blue Glitter and Delight........ ough. all 3 of them get the short end of the stick in the game and that's okay. they get a whole manga adapt and multiple stage performances, so I can let it slide. though I'm glad suzu was able to get some well deserved attention in Rebellion! both on the stage *and* in the game! another fantastic story btw, read it when you have the chance if you haven't! but yes yes, suzu. she's so silly, earnest and innocent, she's such a people person and someone i truly think everyone needs in their life! i've been thinking about her (and hisame) more recently, more than usual, and idk! idk i get sentimental, don't tell anyone. but I love them both a lot, suzu is no exception, and I genuinely think the kind of character she is and her dynamics with the others is so good. she's such a good character!!!!!!!!!!!!! everything with mahiru is just!!!! augh!!!! um waiter, more seiran please .

Okay so!!!! Overall I loved Phantasia ✨
I love the time travel stuff in old jrpgs and the overall style of the game is very much my cup of tea sjxk
I don't remember all of the story perfectly since it took me over a year to finish but uwahh it's pretty good! I did get a little emotional at the end of course. I wish I'd been better abt trying to catch skits tho bc I definitely think I missed a lot and I would've liked to get more attached to the characters (than I already was ajdksk) but in the end Chester is my favorite followed by Klarth ✨
I did uh. Sort of accidentally skip Suzu's village so I never got to know her but maybe on a replay or just reloading my save outside the final boss room I'll go check it out.
Anyway anyway I really loved that we got to know Dhaos' motivation in the end, and that all he was really trying to do was save his people on his own. Obviously his methods were pretty callous and force-driven but I liked that he was really still just a person, fighting for his beliefs like the rest of us. I always like that in Tales games tbh, even for the antagonists I'm less sympathetic for, bc it gives the story some really nice depths and realness to it.
Only thing that killed me playing this game was the plethora of random encounters and adapting to the battle system, which made it a bit tiring at times and is why I dropped it for so long, but I'm still really glad to have finished it.
And we did it! We saved the world and even if we can't undo what's been done and parting is bittersweet there's still a future to look forward to together :D
That did make me really sad tho.. that Klarth would return to his own time and since he's only human, would die before ever meeting us again. Even Arche has to wait a century before reuniting with Cress, Mint, and Chester. Ough.. having feelings.
Oh yeah the Eternal Sword was cool! Was it the same one as in Symphonia?? Or similar??? It's been a bit since my Symphonia playthrough so the details are muddled but it was the same idea of combining two swords and some stuff with Origin's power I think.
There's a lot of little interactions and things in this game I really like sjxk but we all know my favorite is Cress and Chester best friends and more forever <3 expect a qpr fic abt them from me eventually I love them

montyyyyyy T^T just finished penumbra and my chest is ACHING im always in love with the way you characterize shouta and your writing always makes me feel like clutching my phone in longing but also kicky feet squealing on my bed- it’s a rollercoaster for sure hahaha
aside from the romance, im also so intrigued by reader’s, and im only assuming, your thoughts on the hero world in MHA?? made me pause and think at some points in the story like when reader was explaining her opinions in the cafe and also at the end when shouta was interrogating her. idk but the way you articulated some of the things like not having a good enough system and wanting the community just to feel safe really like hit home in a weird way? i work on the frontline with quite a vulnerable population and i feel like reader and i (wait aren’t i reader lmao) have the same thoughts on society and how they should be helping people instead of putting on a front sometimes- except i cannot legally throw on a sick suit and go at night to help out lmao
also loved that you managed to squeeze eri in hehe i just know later on she’d be walking out that cafe with Suzu swinging in her little arms and shouta following with Ren tucked into his scarf 😌
sorry for the jumbled thoughts it’s definitely 3am and my cat is definitely laying on my arm so i can’t type well
tldr; I loved penumbra ❤️
hi again beloved !!!! thank you so much for giving it a read and for coming back to share your thoughts too, it is my favourite part of posting fic lmao. I’m so sooo happy you loved shouta. I was worried that he might seem ooc to some (esp if they didn’t read vigilantes) but he is canonically softer on them alongside the other rooftop four. though, admittedly, his behaviour is half to do with the fact that he’s fond of you lol. it was a lot of fun to play around with. ERIII of course I had plans to incorporate her a bit more but it would have thrown off the plot. I wish I’d included present mic somewhere in there as I’d planned to in the first draft too, but it was getting away from me 🫠
as for readers opinions, they do align with mine, but I did make a conscious effort to dilute them and try to write them in a way that was more… human? I didn’t want it to turn into a big political shpiel and feel as if I was shoving opinions down the actual readers (your) throat. I wanted it to have heart!!! truly I can imagine the frustration of living in a world like that. it is bad enough in this one lmfksmd
but yeah, thank you so much again for settling down and giving your time to my silly little stories. it means a lot to me <3 I hope you have a good start to your weekend!!

I just got past the casting for the Winter Performance, Oh Rama Havenna. And wow Neji really was like “since this is just a throwaway performance I’m gonna make things uncomfortable for EVERYBODY 🤪” and decided to really enjoy playing around with the casting! Well…except for Otori, my guy still getting the oddball roles as usual! So…to recap…
Kisa: Her first Al Jeanne role since the Newcomers Performance! It’s gonna be interesting since Kisa’s latest roles have had her lean more into being a boy so it’ll be fun seeing her play a more feminine role again! And she deserves the Al Jeanne spot after she’s been killing the competition this year!!!
Suzu: So he’s gonna play a more softspoken role from what I understand? Neji’s description makes the role sound kinda similar to what Jean Jose was supposed to be. Neji, did you come through for me and give me villainous Suzu??? This will be fun because Suzu never really got used to Jean Jose before he was out so I wanna see him do this role! But looks like there’ll be drama because Suzu doesn’t seem all that okay at the start of the semester, definitely related to Sou.
Sou: Boy got himself another Jack role (I’m kinda gonna miss seeing him in Jeanne roles 😂)! And he’s gonna be a showy type of guy, that should be fun! Sou already showed off how capable he can be at acting, and everyone around him is aware of it, so this role can be good at improving upon his skills.
Mitsuki: Him being the other Al Jeanne was not something I was expecting but it looks like the Winter Performance will be Mitsuki’s arc to shine! Especially since he’s slowly growing to care more about the performances and how he doesn’t seem even remotely okay with taking a lead role.
Fumi: A Jack!!!! He’s gonna be a playboy Jack role!!! Holy shit how has no one ever tried making Fumi do Jack roles before, this is such a good play! I mean yeah I know there’s the whole thing about finding students who can do Jeanne roles is difficult and that Univeil doesn’t really make students go outside their assigned positions much. But Fumi doing a Jack role, A+ casting Neji!!!
Kai: I was sincerely shocked because I thought he was gonna be left out entirely. But then, he has a small part? And this is the first time he’s not paired with Fumi in these plays…Maybe the idea is to make Kai be more independent as an actor? And it’s make sense to start easy with smaller roles than throwing him into a major role solo…
Neji: I can’t wait to see Neji being an evil Jeanne character 😂😂😂 I don’t think Neji has done any more serious roles, I’d like to see him try it sometime because I think he can be capable of it. Maybe this role can have a bit of that?
Yeah, it looks like the Winter Performance will be about making as much of the cast uncomfortable as possible by putting them in roles they don’t typically do. Neji really does do things for the good of Quartz in the most chaotic ways possible doesn’t he?
