Little known Bazzy fact: he has a bottomless love bucket and if I’m not home to keep the love tap running, he becomes Insufferable.
When I got home from the wedding last night (after having already been gone the first half of the day at a dog show), he hopped in place five times at the gate in greeting and brought me a bone. Then he was halfway in my lap like this for a good while (pls note that he is made of raw chicken breasts):
Poor Sivi had to wait for an opening…

we've both talked about how scully isn't jealous fire. what differences do you see between protective scully vs jealous scully?
yeah to me the main difference is that one is more external and the other internal. she gets very emotional when she’s jealous. in episodes like alpha (literally sitting that woman down and going “i’m watching you.” cracks me tf up. Dana nobody is taking your man.) and war of the coprophages, it’s kind of angry. it’s louder, but still something very vulnerable and true to her (hater-ism). in episodes like the end, it’s heartbreak. that’s one of the very few episodes where i think she was purely jealous, and sad. she usually understands what’s going on and i think she knew as soon as she heard him call diana by her first name that something was going to change. i think it hurt her feelings, that specific display of connection, usually reserved for her.
when she’s jealous she retreats. she watches quietly. she cries alone in her car. she needs a moment to herself.
it’s when she’s protective that you can’t shake her for anything. one of my favorite images in fire is her standing in the doorway while mulder and phoebe meet with the arson specialist. i didn’t even notice she was there the first time i saw it. she wasn’t invited. she’s just keeping watch. later, she’s standing in the hallway. after that, she’s in his hotel room, and doesn’t leave when phoebe comes in. says “are you okay?” the moment they’re alone.
people write off her behavior in this one as being “jealous” because she has a lil crush and there’s another woman there, but i honestly find that dismissive. sometimes people discuss scully through such a wide lens, not taking into account who she is. she’s really surprised throughout the time that phoebe was there. it’s that soft edge that still shocks to cruelty, that she never really loses. it’s what shocks in the pilot when the doctor hits mulder twice. what shocks in the following episode when the government agents punch him on the side of the road. (look at you you’ve radicalized scully). it’s what makes her wary of jerry lamana, even before he stole mulder’s work.
but phoebe is so cruel, and so personal, and has so much history. it’s not jealousy that makes scully linger in doorways. it’s not jealousy that spawns that folie a deux. no one else understands. no one else can be trusted. (which i do kind of think started in fire, i’ve said before). she isn’t jealous that he startles when he hears this woman’s voice.
and i know that’s a lot on phoebe as an example, but it doesn’t stop. she doesn’t stop keeping watch. she doesn’t stop shocking to cruelty. she’ll get loud. she’ll make plans. she’ll surprise herself. and it doesn’t come with jealousy’s mortifying intimacy.
(don’t have much else to say but i found this from an old post of mine and wanted to share: “scully has that kind of protectiveness towards him that you have towards a child that hasn't been touched by the world yet. it's very 'the world is at least half terrible, though i keep this from my children.’ 'good bones' by maggie smith. scully in the beginning is like......there is something here that should have broken by now. and she wants to watch him be able to walk into every room with the most hopeful answer and a hand out to every stranger.”)
she shares him with the world only reluctantly, Etc etc

The Fernweh Saga by @lacunafiction - Davor edition
I-I think Ms. Verner doesn't like him...😳
Davor "Dove" Kovač
🐝 RO: Becca Warrick
Personality: cautious // aloof // pessimistic // flirtatious (only towards Becca ...and Reese??)
Traits: head // independent // resistance // believer
Past affinity: math
Primary ability: extrasensory awareness
Past susceptibility: forward.
'it’s better to push forward. don’t look back on the past when you have new places to be and things to achieve.' <<< his motto
🕊️ Fernweh: Davor lived a happy life there and didn't think about leaving in the future. Maybe for some trips, but he knew it would always be his place, his safe place...
'It was a mistake to come back here.' - that was his first thought when he tried to fall asleep on the first night in Fernweh. The nightmares came back as he thought they would. He wants to leave as soon as possible because he feels that it is not safe for Becca to be here.
🕊️ Gramps Dan: That was his gramps who taught Davor how to play the guitar. As a young child, Davor always admired him and believed he was the most intelligent person in the world.
After the death of his parents and how his grandfather treated him, he was devastated and angry. He wanted answers soo badly but didn't get any. He lived loathing his grandfather ever since. The news of his passing stirred up a lot of negative emotions that Davor had previously managed to suppress. At the beginning of the story he couldn't care less about his grandfather, but because of his journal he started to believe him. Things that his granfather lived through made Davor even more angry at this messy town …but he's willing to forgive his gramps…
🐝 Becca Warrick: It was a ...funny story that brought both of them together and they look after each other ever since. He considers Becca as his precious (not in a negative-possessive way) treasure, he literally can't let anything bad happen to her. That was also she who came up with the nickname 'Dove'... (and she's literally the only person who calls him that, others wouldn't dare...). He had feelings for her for quite some time but didn't act on it... until now.
Although he didn't express it, he felt very nervous about Becca being in the town where he grew up. He was curious (but also scared) about what she could think of this town. He felt like he was revealing more of himself to her…. and he forgot about any worries pretty fast, because the town started being weird as fu--.
🕊️ Reese Verner: Back then Davor was quite cheerful and enjoyed competing with Reese regularly. They teased each other a lot. Davor always thought that Reese had a crush on him, was it true tho? donut know, but he certainly had.
...why does he appear in his nightmares? Maybe the crush stage never disappeared...? Seeing him again was a nice experience, sure... but ignoring the circumstances, he is still unsure if it was worth it and is struggling with his thoughts… Would it be worth it to return to Fernweh just to see him... again? welp, good thing he doesn't have to think about it much, am I right?
🕊️ Sofia Dorran: The two of them maybe did not have a strong relationship, but he knew Sofia is the ideal person for engaging in intelligent conversations. He enjoyed spending time with her, solving the puzzles that gramps created for them both. Davor wasn't a fan of fantasy books, but she managed to change his mind about them.
Davor knows that Sofia did take good care of his grandfather, but he still doesn't quite know if he's grateful for that or wished she spent her time more... valuably... He was tempted to ask Sofia to borrow that book she found in his grandfather's bedroom, but he thought better of it. It's better to leave Fernweh… Even so, his curiosity wasn't properly fed.
🕊️ James Corvin: Maybe not brothers by blood, but definitely brothers by choice. Davor treated him as if he was the brother he always wanted to have. Back then Davor always placed a high value on his family… until now. At the time, Davor tended to be more impulsive and James was usually the one who kept him from getting into trouble (which often involved Reese).
It was really hard, for both of them, to see each other after so long. Their first interaction was pretty awkward... I would even say that most of their interactions were . James noticed how Davor changed the question is: for the better or worse? I don't even know. Everyone can sense, that things around them are different now, and they aren't as close as before. Will it change?
🕊️ Alek Corvin: …To say that Alek wasn't a fan of Davor would be an understatement. Was it because James spent most of his time focusing only on Davor trying to get him out of trouble? Did Alek observe any possessiveness from Davor towards James? Or maybe simply because of the bond between those two, which was truly something that others would envy and desire? Davor never considered it, especially when he left Fernweh permanently. :))
As you can imagine, Alek doesn't seem very happy about Davor's return… But he took an interest in his new friend, Becca, which did not go unnoticed by Davor and he isn't really happy about it.
🕊️ The Waitress: Oh boy, it seems that Davor has taken up a new hobby, which is glaring harshly at the waitress. He finds her mistrustful and he smells trouble. Had they met when he was younger, there may have been a slim chance of them getting along.
🕊️ Waffles!: So um… Davor has a little issue with dogs and because of that his relationship with Waffles isn't as wonderful as I wish it would be... However, I believe that with time and help from Becca, they will eventually become friends.

Steve and the ulterior motive laundry
time to talk about steve’s own deranged bi little brain now. so, eddie wears a lot of flannel button-ups once he’s out of the hospital--they’re easy to put on and he gets cold easily while he’s still recovering. most of the shirts are at least a size too big, having come from the corroded coffin guys or the donation bins after most of eddie’s own stuff was lost when the trailer was torn apart.
steve can’t help noticing that eddie, at home in worn-in flannel with rolled-up sleeves and too much room in the shoulders, looks really soft. he’s still quintessentially eddie, still bright and energetic as he gets better and the kids come around to see him, but steve’s around now for the quieter times in between. and maybe he can only see eddie curled up with the sleeves of his too-big shirts pulled over his hands, idly chewing on the buttons on the cuff as he reads the hobbit again, so many times before something in his brain is insisting that he owns lots of sweatshirts that he doesn’t wear very much anymore, that would also be too big on eddie’s shoulders and would keep him warm now that he’s getting able to wear pullover tops again.
and steve does the laundry in the house, because it’s his house anyway and it’s just something that he takes care of and he always ends up washing the random shirts and hoodies and socks that the kids leave strewn around anyway, it’s not a big deal. it’s just maybe a coincidence that all of eddie’s flannels end up needing to be washed on the same day. and he doesn’t have one to put on when he wanders into the kitchen and pouts because it’s cold. and steve’s not going to just let him freeze, but it’s a big house and it takes a while to heat, so when he tells eddie to grab a sweater from his own room it’s very casual and normal of him to do so.
tells himself he can stay very casual and normal about seeing eddie sprawled out on the couch a while later, with one sleeve of steve’s old swim team hoodie pulled down over his fingers and the other sleeve pushed up to the elbow while he scribbles in one of his notebooks. eddie keeps chewing on the hoodie strings and steve is pretty sure that he should find that gross but instead he keeps looking at the way his name looks across the back of the sweatshirt, harrington a little rumpled up across eddie’s narrow shoulders, partially hidden where his hair is escaping from a messy bun.
and maybe it just takes him a couple of days to put the laundry away because of other reasons. but he doesn’t exactly complain when eddie keeps stealing his sweatshirts anyway.

HMMMMM apparently. One of my friends from school is now dating my sixth form ex. (who I THINK. drugged me at a party a year or two after we broke up and tried to do me quite a lot of harm, but I'm not 100% on that one.)
mostly what I'm picking at is like. she (the friend) had some of the worst times of all of us in adolescence, she was really badly harmed by this town and the people in it. and I cannot imagine, regardless of how the ex is now (bc people do change between 21 and 30 for sure). why anyone from my friendship group would, as an adult who successfully moved out to a city and thus has thousands of New Non-Trauma-Associated People at their disposal, willingly choose to date anyone they knew in their teens.
literally man like I know this from talking to my two very very beloved besties from school who I'm still very close to. and when they told me this I was like friends you know I love you and want you in my life forever but Jesus Christ I would never date you you know too much. very valuable to have friends who understand The Fuckery but imagine choosing to build a romantic relationship on that.
