Note
could u do midoriya and Bakugo with a childhood friend who got rejected from UA while they got in and she started distancing herself from them?
(Hello Anon, thank you for the request and I hope you enjoy! Also I hope you don’t mind that I made the reader gender neutral)
Fading Childhood
Midoriya and Bakugou x GN! Reader
(Warning: This is platonic, reader has a quirk but it’s not specified)
Tumblr media
You, Midoriya, and Bakugou are childhood friends. You lived close by Midoriya’s house and he introduced you to his friend Bakugou and ever since the first day you met you guys did everything together, whenever Bakugou would say mean things to Deku or hurt him in any way you would be there to be the voice of reasoning to calm down the situation.
Bakugou was always stubborn, in Junior High he would absolutely refuse to hang out with Midoriya sense he was Quirkless and didn’t want to be seen with him but with you there you somehow managed to convince Bakugou to hang out with you guys.
You often found yourself comforting Midoriya from all the bullying he receives each and every day. You would go to a nearby store, grab majority of his favorite snacks, and then go to his house to hang out to keep his mind occupied.
Today was one of those days where you were over at Midoriya’s house, you were talking about how you both applied to UA and hoped that you both will be accepted there. You had high expectations that you’ll be accepted because you had a pretty good quirk and it can be very handy for saving people.
10 months later it was time for UA’s entrance exam. You started to prepare right before the exam, stretching your muscles and breathing in and out to calm your nerves. You haven’t seen Midoriya or Bakugou anywhere yet but you knew they were gonna be there it’s just a lot of people there so it’s hard to spot them, but you silently wished the both of them luck.
After a few long minutes of listening to Present Mic explain the rules for the exam, everyone went to their proper locations and waited for the buzzer to go off to start.
The buzzer went off and the exam began, minutes passed and you took out a few robots and saved a few people, it was safe to say that you’ll most likely be accepted into the famous hero course.
All the sudden a loud boom snapped you out of your thoughts but it sounded nothing like Bakugou’s explosions so out of curiosity you checked out the noise. There you saw one of those large robots that are worth 0 points come down and a person was falling down. You were too far away to see the person but by the sounds of their screams you could tell that it was Midoriya.
You were running as fast as you can to try and save him in time before he fell to his demise but you were too late. Luckily a girl with short brown hair saved him with her Quirk and he started floating. You sighed in relief as he gently got put down and Recovery Girl was walking over there. The exam ended and you wanted to talk to Midoriya and ask him questions about his Quirk because you always thought he was Quirkless, but you decide to leave him alone since currently he was getting treatment for his broken bones.
A week has passed and you still haven’t received the acceptance letter from UA, it worried you but you tried to look at the bright side and still have hope. Then you got a text from Bakugou.
“Bakugou: No surprise but I got into UA, how about you?”
He was right, there was no surprise but what about you? Where was your letter? There was still some time left so you didn’t panic too much, you decided to not answer the message from him and go take a small nap to kill time.
You were woken up by a text and checked to see who it was, it was Midoriya.
“Midoriya: Hey sorry I’m texting you so late but I got into UA I’m so happy, did you get the acceptance letter?”
At this point it was 10 PM and you didn’t get the letter. You lost all the hope you originally had and felt like your dreams of becoming a hero were torn into shreds.
Days later it was the first day of school in UA and both Midoriya and Bakugou didn’t see you anywhere. They knew something was wrong when you didn’t reply to there texts so they suspected that you didn’t get accepted and with you nowhere to be found in UA that confirmed that they were correct.
Later in the day, after their first day of school was over you heard a loud knock on your bedroom door. You said come in expecting that it was gonna be your guardian but it caught you by surprise when you saw your spiky haired friend walk in and shut the door with a note in his hand.
“What are you doing her-”
“You think you can just distance yourself from us like that just because you didn’t get into some stupid hero course? There’s other hero courses out there so don’t you dare give up.” Bakugou says as he gently but firmly punched your arm, you softly smile at the gesture knowing that it was Bakugou’s way of telling you that he cares.
“Thank you Bakugou.”
“Yeah yeah whatever, here nerd wanted you to see this.” He says handing you the note before walking to the door.
“Hey wait again thank yo-”
“BYE” He slams the door.
Chuckling a bit, you open the letter and read it to yourself-
“Dear Y/N, I’m sorry I couldn’t come over to tell you this in person but I had some things to do and I wanted to tell you this as soon as possible so I wrote this note. I’m sorry you didn’t get accepted into UA, you have such a amazing Quirk and you’ll be a amazing hero. That being said, don’t give up there’s other schools that have a hero course and sure it won’t be UA but don’t let that bring you down. - Sincerely, Midoriya.”
Reading that note made you tear up, how could you distance yourself from your friends, childhood friends to be specific. You made a promise to yourself that once you see them again you’ll apologize and never do that to them ever again.

Joel Miller x Male!Reader Word Count: 2.6k
Tags:Angst,Violence(Blood),Comfort, Soft!Joel
Request: "Long story not so short reader's the one to encounter David, he gives Joel the medicine, reader is the one who kills David. Joel and Ellie find him, Joel seeing that he went outside alone, he killed someone for the first time and basically put himself at risk just to take care of Ellie and to prove Joel that he isn't cargo and obviously Joel fucking breaks because the guy he's in love with did all this shit to keep safe the two people he cared for the most and didn't give his life any value even before that. Reader was always behind to warn them if something was gonna attack, or to defendem with his body first and Joel didn't notice until that moment."
A/N: This prompt has a lot of angst and I love it! Has some slow build up so I really hope this is what you wanted anonymous, Enjoy!
Tumblr media
“Where, WHERE THE FUCK IS HE?!” Joel screamed. His growl was enough to shake the wooden walls and it definitely rattled Ellie, who had her gun pointed at their second hostage tied up against the table.
Joel was furious, with his injury, with the lack of information, and most importantly, your absence. Ellie had told him everything about the raiders, how they came to kill him, how you acted as bait to lure the ruffians away from the town. Ultimately you failed and were captured. He didn’t need to know all the details, just hearing Ellie recite this to him was enough to get him off his deathbed, away from the cold mattress.
The man Joel had in his grasp, screamed out as the knife drove deeper into the man’s knee. “I don’t know…” he cried in anguish. Joel didn’t give a damn, whipping the man’s head back to get him to focus on his words. “Where. Is. He?”Joel's voice is much lower but just as menacing as before.
“They…” the raider muffled, “..there…there’s a town.”
“What TOWN?!”
His screams were enough to cause the second man on the floor to shift, Ellie positions her gun in line with the man’s head. “Leave him alone man, I can tell you where it is. It’s-”
Joel yelled again, “Shut up,” pulling the knife out from the man’s knee. Just on the small table next to him was a map, he grabs it while shoving the knife’s handle into the man’s mouth. “Point to where it is. It better fuckin’ match up with your buddy.”
The man sobs through the handle, with the map being held to his face. He did as told, drawing a line across the crinkled paper. He spits the knife out into his own lap, “There…ok? It should be there, fucking psycho”. Joel looks at the location, Silver Lake. “I wouldn’t hold my breath,” Joel's eyes look back at the raider, “David’s probably chopped him up by now,” he laughs.
Joel gritted his teeth, eyes as dark as the night. In one swoop motion he grapples the blade and shoves it against him, receiving a cry from his buddy off to the side. “Noo.”
The other hostage tried moving, as if he could somehow save his dying companion. Ellie of course was on it, “Move again, and I’ll shoot you.”
He tried pleading with them, in a state of hysteria, knowing he might have the same demise. Ellie had her gun, her aim shaky, scared to kill again but ready if it meant less obstacles later.
Joel though didn’t want her doing the dirty work, he was up and by her side, lightly pushing her hand down to lower her aim. “Get the horse ready”, he said with a small hint of guilt in his voice. Joel had insisted she stay hidden in the basement while he interrogated them, instead, she wanted to help. The older man didn’t have it in him to argue with her, between his grogginess and his wounded stomach, it wouldn’t have done him any good.
This time she did as told, lowering her weapon and walking out of the room.
Joel’s gaze turns to the man, tightening his fingers.
“We should’ve blasted you motherfuckers when we had the chance!”
“Maybe you should have,” he says, bringing his knife down onto the man’s skull.
------------
The Silver Lake town was in shambles, people were yelling, people were running for their lives, and some were even fighting each other. Chaos ensued outside from your hiding place. Word got out on what was in their last meal, human remains. The people freaked out and began fighting, guns blazing.
You were sat up behind a counter, a pool of red just inches from you. Trembling at the sight, you tried collecting yourself. It was the first time you killed somebody, someone you couldn’t spare for once. You were moments away from being turned into a dish, what were you supposed to do? The thought made you nearly gag, you didn’t know how Joel didn’t feel the same way after he did the same. Perhaps he did and was just numb to it all.
It didn’t matter though how you felt, you lived, you survived. You’d get to breathe freely even if it was for another moment. There wasn’t much time to celebrate, as nothing was in the world, because another set of footsteps entered into the massive dining hall. The quickness and sudden entrance made you jerk.
You listen carefully, as the person trailed around the room.
He said your name and you recognized that voice. Fucking David. Shit. He was the last person you wanted to encounter, especially in your hazed state. To some degree your fizzled mind was more alert than ever. After all, you trusted him. He gave you medicine, let you and your friends live; he must’ve had a change of heart. Or his plan to raid your rundown base, kidnap one of you even, was his intention all along.
He called out for you again, sending a chill up your spine, “I know you’re in here. Why don’t you come on out, we can just work this out. Like ole pals”.
His voice, so condescending he might as well just say he wanted you dead. His voice was far, not enough to calm your nerves. Peering around the counter, through all the chairs and tables, you can make out the movement of a gray door. It swung, with a faint bit of light shining from behind. That was your way out, it had to be. The front door wasn’t an option as that would expose you to David and the mayhem happening just outside. There was probably a window, or even better another door just beyond the one you saw ahead. You needed to leave.
“If you take me to your friends, I’ll let you off scout free. We can forget about this whole mess, start over.”
Yeah right? Like you’d put your faith in him again. After he captured you and put you in a cage, after he ordered his man to cut you up like an animal; like hell you’d trust him.
Hearing David’s steps, slowly trailing around made you move, making sure you were as quick as can be. You kept your distance behind pillars, seats, and small walls; constantly keeping track of him through sound and small glimpses from your hiding spot.
You were now close, hiding behind a a seated booth that hid you from David’s sight and had the backdoor completely in full view. Anyone coming through the door would see you. It was tempting just to run for it. Doing so would alert him, causing you more trouble than you could’ve ask for.
A distraction is what you needed, something to keep him busy for a time. But would do that? A molotov might do the trick, the idea came about while you looked over at the bottle on a nearby table. If only you had a rag and a lighter.
Your knife would have to do, as you prepare yourself for a sneak attack.
————
Joel and Ellie made it, Silver Lake. The place was in shambles, they were caught off by the shouting, the combustion; initially thinking they'd have to sneak their way through a heavily guarded town.
Joel couldn't tell if he'd prefer what he was expecting, or the situation they were in now. There wasn’t time to waste, thinking too hard would just prolong your rescue.
The two kept behind a brick wall, watching and waiting for an opening. Joel’s plan was to search all the buildings that likely had a kitchen or butcher room. They’d have to wait until the gunshots came to a steady, not wanting to get caught in any cross fire.
One last shot rang out, before all that was left was the sounds of the howling winds. It lasted long, and the two gazed at each other before Joel decided to peek around the corner. Only three men remained, at least from what he could see. He could easily take them all with just a few bullets, but his aching stomach would prove to make that difficult.
“Jesus, can’t believe they’d turn on us.”
“Yeah, where the fuck did David go?"
Was there a dispute? Did you cause this? Who cared, not Joel. He just wanted to know if you were alive and well, afraid the ladder was high unlikely and wishful thinking.
Fuck it. He pulls his rifle up, groaning as he lined up his aim. Ellie got herself prepared too, locking eyes with Joel and communicating they’re next action through gaze alone. One of the men were facing away from them, he takes aim before pulling, taking one guy out.
It startles the other two, leaving them confused. It gave Joel time to reload behind cover before coming back out and down went the raider. None of them could hide besides one, who ducked behind the opposite side of the building the two were already hiding behind.
He had his rifle aimed just at the edges of the brick wall, ready to tap the raider the moment he peaked over. Ellie had herself up against Joel, somewhat curious if the coast was clear. His sharp, focused eyes said otherwise.
Just as half of the raider's face came into view, Joel was quick to dispose of the last man with a piercing shot to the face. Falling to the ground, the coast looked to be finally clear. The silence almost seemed threatening, like a trap was awaiting them if they stepped out from their hiding spot. Nothing of course convinced Joel of this other than his own worry.
“Stay close to me”, Joel instructs Ellie. She nods, taking small steps behind Joel to keep her pace steady for the injured man.
They didn’t have a certain route, just trailing the walls and looking into the windows of buildings as they passed by each one; alleyways included. Joel sporadically looked around, trying to locate you while keeping a lookout for any other threats. Ellie did the same, but kept her eyes out for you.
Joel, so caught up in the moment, hadn’t realized Ellie’s light steps growing distant by the second.
He turned to her, eyes widening at her recklessness, “Ellie”! She wasn’t listening, her eyes were squinted, investigating the figure just beyond the alleyway. She could have swore she recognized who it was, until she got closer. She gasped.
Joel calls her name again, this time she listen.
“Joel,” she waves her hand over, “It’s y/n”. She ran into the alley leaving Joel to limp his way over to the other side of the street. She could’ve at least helped him, after hearing that you were alive, the man wanted to run but couldn’t.
He crosses the street, and is parallel with the valley and spots you at the other side, knees deep into the snow; draped in stains of red.
Ellie had already cross the distance in a sprint. She grabs your arms, startling you from your paralyzed state. Looking up from the snow, you were shocked to see Ellie, she was here. How? You had told her to stay and watch out for Joel, now she was here?
You had some questions but decided to hold them off, just wanting to be reminded what a caring embrace felt like. You reach your hand up and Ellie comes down to you with a hug. You could feel your tears welling up, wanting to forget the hell you just experienced.
Hearing a set of steps hit the snow, you snap your gaze to the side. Some of your questions were answered on sight just seeing Joel struggling as he limped over to you. Your tears finally started pouring down your face. "Joel, I fucking did it. I killed someone," your voice quivered.
You're words barely graced the man's ears. He just was happy you were still here, functioning normally too. He drops down to you, cupping your face and making you keep eye contact with him.
When you tried speaking again, it came out disjointed. It was a blend between an explanation and an apology. Yet Joel knew what you meant by the few words that escaped your shaky lips.
The way he treated you up to this point, your dispute weeks ago, the one that shut you down completely; when Joel yelled at you for not defending yourself. He did it out of fear, you nearly got kidnapped for god knows what reason. By then he was fed up with your passiveness, practically calling you useless and nothing more than dead weight.
He very quickly regretted this over the next few days, the lack of any soul in your voice was aching to hear. Ellie was feeling the effects of this too, trying to make small talk with you, but you never had much to say. The raising pain he felt made him feel guilty, believing his actions didn't justify his emotions. You likely we're in greater pain than he was.
Joel ran his fingers across your cheek, wiping away the drops leaving your eyes. You look down, "I'm sorry I...I tried protecting Ellie, and you..."
Hearing your voice was just furthering the wounds in the older man's heart. He shook, his head reminded of his wrongdoings. "No no no..." he pulls your face back up, "Sweetheart, we wouldn't be here if it weren't for you," Joel tried hiding the cracks in his voice. "You saved me, you watched over Ellie, I can't thank you enough. And..." he paused, his guilt coming back into the forefront. "''m sorry, for everythin'. I shouldn't have said any of it, I'd go back and change it in a heartbeat."
His words were touching, as if you didn't have enough to keep your tears flowing. You close your eyes in an attempt to hide yourself, to save the two people you cared about much the trouble of witnessing you break down. A combination of everything you'd suffer through just came crashing down onto you. The embarrassment of appearing weak in front of Joel, wasn't enough to stop your cries.
This time, he wouldn't push you away, not like last time. He pulled you in, his forehead pressing up against yours. He just kept repeating his remorsefulness, each time his voice grew softer until it was a whisper like the wind.
Ellie was also providing you extra security with her head leaning into the back of your shoulder. She would thank you later, with her own words, but she thought it was appropriate to comfort you now. Without you, she'd have no idea how to mend Joel or even handle David. It scared her thinking about doing everything you've done all alone.
You spent some time regaining your composure in Joel's warm palms, reaching up to place yours over his, you didn't realize how numb it had gotten from the freezing cold. You grip them tightly, clearing away the sorrow with a sniff.
"We need to go, okay?"
You took a second but eventually nodded.
Joel nods too in approval, he grips your hands in his own, and stands slowly, pulling you up along with him. Ellie lifts herself on her own accord, giving you some breathing room to physically reconcile with Joel. Seeing him wrap his arm around your back, his chin stuck to the side of your forehead, gave her hope that things going forward between you two would get better.
She informs you, "The horse isn't far," grabbing ahold of you before leading you forward.
Being that close to you, glued to your side, he wish he could tell you how much you meant to him. With the nightmare you just experienced, dropping something heavy like that would have to wait, you’d been through more than enough.
For once he was just happy, to finally make up with the man he loved, dearly.

I need to know about your Link OCs! Can you give me a brief summary of them all? Or a fun fact for each? Who’s the cinnamon rolls vs the ones who would kill you in a heartbeat? I must know 👀
Hehe since you asked… UwU I’ll explain top to bottom from that one image
Fluffy is the predecessor to Cursed. It’s no secret anymore cuz it was sorta revealed in the comic already if you remember what he looks like but he’s also Cursed’s grandfather :) Idk what he did specifically I’m still tryna figure it out but I know some major things he did was that he rescued the young prince since some evil (possibly Vaati) kidnapped him for his divine magic. Typically it’s a princess with the goddesses blood in her veins but I’m like… there had to be a dude right? It would be exceptionally rare but that prince had the power of the goddesses :) and fluffy also tried to protect Ordon from the tyrant king who tried to force Ordonians to submit to his will. There would’ve been some intense bloodshed but there was a bright light and all the Ordonians disappeared. So ordon is a ghost town. Where’d they go? 🤔 when his oldest son Taril was like, 10-14 he left mysteriously and never returned.
Then Cursed I can’t talk about much cuz his story is being explored in @thecurseofdemisecomic which I haven’t worked on in a hot second and I need motivation again cuz it’s kinda dying unfortunately. I’m not even done with arc one 😭😭 but you can read some of it there. If ya want :) the main premise is that Ganondorf is actively hunting down the hero of Hyrule. Only issue, the hero always appears from the most random spots ever. So he’s hard to find
Malakan is… confusing to me. He’s Cursed’s successor and idk what to do anymore with it. It was gonna be called the Curse of Hylia but truthfully the lore for that doesn’t fit the lore I had anymore. I feel like Hylia is truly gone, living on through Zelda, so idk what’s going on there. But the art I made was cute lol. Anyways yeah idk what to do with him, he’s just hangin out. He’s also Cursed’s like, great grandson? Mayhaps? But yeah, he was like, bffs with Ganondorf and Zelda. It was one of those ;)
Moon is my son and my baby. His whole story I almost made a comic for but nothing has happened yet. Basically hes from the dark timeline to TCOD where the hero was murdered and the master sword gone. The world fought back for a long while, but without the master sword, the world inevitably was nearly destroyed, with Demise winning (in this Demise and Ganondorf started working together). The world was a barren wasteland and slavery was common. Moon was a slave and he was thrown into a pit after he fought back against the slavers to protect someone. The golden three returned to Hyrule to salvage what they could, Farore, being the goddess of the life, wanting to save it entirely. Because of Moon’s courage, she sent him the Triforce of course before being cursed into a little bunny. Demise couldn’t kill her but he sure as heck humiliated her with that form. Moon finds a zelda and after discovering his Triforce of courage (zelda having the Triforce of wisdom), she sent him to find the shards of the Triforce of power, which was shattered when she tried to defeat the evil. Moon finds Farore and they search for the shards, eventually restoring Hyrule with the Triforce. Idk what specifically happens after that but he meets Groose, he gets magic, and it’s fun :) Moon is deaf but he never learned how to communicate, like ever, so it was a rocky road for him until he learned sign language. He’s also Skord Link’s direct ancestor UwU idk why but that happened. That’s why Sky kinda looks like him! It was an accident but I leaned into it!
Then Real. He’s a fun kiddo. Basically his story is that he’s some kid who moved to Hyrule after his father passed away, and the supposed hero of Hyrule went searching for the master sword with his help. But Real ended up being the one to draw the sword and having the hero’s spirit. The fake hero did not like this and was raised to believe he was the true hero, so let’s just say he did some bad things. He took Real to try to steal his Triforce of courage cuz he believed that would get him the master sword, and Real was able to escape. He meets Beck (or Linebeck the 87th ;)) and is able to convince him to help him. They run away from “Fake” despite the many tricks he throws their way ( he pretends he’s Real’s father at some point but Beck knew that his father died. Also Fake is like, 18 years old lmao). Idk what happens after that. Beck has a son that supposedly died by a creature that steals force (but he doesn’t) and it possibly takes Beck and there’s this whole thing. Idk the ending is messy but that’s the gist of it! I actually did a whumptober with Beck and Real! Fun times! Also Real loses his eye 😔
And then Flower… oh my baby Flower. He’s such a good boy and has such a gentle soul. This is in Moon’s timeline. Because the death of the hero caused so much destruction, the royal family started searching for the hero to protect him. But it got a little extreme and Flower was forcefully taken as a baby (this leads into Real’s story with the royal family taking the wrong baby). He was raised by the sages, specifically the Sage of light named Kaeru, who is a terrible and abusive person. Flower loves animals and has a blue cuccoo named Nitrogen thanks to the folks on discord and he meets a friendly Moblin too. Zelda in this is really pushed by Kaeru and he’s noticeably exhausted. There’s no big plot, it’s just Flower hangin out. I also have a whumptober fic with him and Zelda lol. I love him
And then they’re not here but there’s also Rayne and Mushroom!
Rayne is the hero in the villain squad au! He has an older brother and is seen as a failure :D And Mushroom is a random child who was raised by a Goron! Idk how else to explain them, mushroom is so silly.

Some of my thoughts on Cowboy Bebop. Or my ESSAY really, if you WILL!
I’m in the middle of re-watching this entire show again after having watched it (so sporadically) before. I’m honestly a little sad that I couldn’t watch it consistently to begin with. It’s become something so appealing now to me after re-watching, but, maybe that’s just the way it was meant to happen.
It’s funny. Back then I thought this was just another good show out there, just another interesting piece of media I’ve decided to watch and take up. That is would just be another show I could tell people about and go ‘Oh yeah! I’ve seen it! It was good!’ and elaborate no further about it.
But that wasn’t the case.
I really got into this show once I started the re-watch. I’ve not seen the movie yet, I’m saving the movie for a bad day, as per a friend’s request, (he didn’t elaborate any further, but, might as well) and I’m super excited about that. I don’t think I’ll watch it until I finish my re-watch of the show first, though.
But yeah, it’s just interesting. I’m trying to put my finger on what is just so… appealing about this show to me. I have an idea roughly of several things that have been so interesting about this show, but, I’m trying to figure out what specifically has stuck out, aside from the atmosphere, the storytelling, and more. I’m trying to figure out what feels so personalized to me about this show…
A bunch of people trying to live out their lives and live with their struggles, flaws, & pasts while doing it. That’s rather profound. There’s something so resonating about that concept. About learning to co-exist with yourself and to truly be present in your own life, as short and as fundamentally difficult as it may be.
And that concept is summarized very well by the following infamous, notable quote:
YOU’RE GONNA CARRY THAT WEIGHT.
And that’s pretty damn hard hitting.
But that aside, I also think there’s another big theme in Cowboy Bebop.
Risk. Surprisingly. It’s my own interpretation of course, and not gospel (I love everyone’s different interpretations anyway), but, here, just have this as food for thought.
Acknowledging the presence of pain, of processing it, is grief. Something many of these characters already go through with so much of their pasts. That’s seemingly obvious and easy to sort of discern and describe, yes?
But to confront it and welcome what comes next, even if it might be painful, even if it might be challenging… is risk.
Which I think there is a lot to say about this theme, when dissecting the finale and the character’s developments. With Faye, with Ed, and with Jet, especially.
Even if it ended in the ultimate tragedy for some people, ahem. Everyone took their risks. They still got hurt, a lot of the time. Most of the time, actually.
But they still took it. And somehow, this appeared to give a stronger feeling of solace, even if it was painful for these characters, seeing them take the risk of confrontation, of hope, or of anything.
With Spike’s demise, I feel you can even study and see this concept in him as well. To be trapped within your own mind and the past — he really did go to find out if he was truly alive. On a surface level it might just look like a suicide mission, and even Faye contends with testing that concept there in the ending. It’s so gray and there’s so much room for so many interpretations on the ending. But that’s what I love so much about it.
But I like to think he really did truly feel alive. Because on a deeper level, he felt the pursuit was… worth the risk, that this was essential to his good mind of conscience. If he dies, he dies. What happens, happens.
That regardless of the pain he felt that day, regardless of what he lost, I feel he did something for once in his entire life with the fullest bit of intentionality that he had. He did something without being plagued by the past. Without being afraid. You could argue Spike was never afraid, but I’m not sure if I believe that. That’s another essay, but.
This once I feel he took a true risk.
Even if that resulted in his death… the smile that he gives in the end there, feels much more like a victory to me than it does a defeat, for so many reasons.
Those are just my own thoughts. But it’s interesting, isn’t it?
I also feel as if Bebop really lines up a lot of harsh realities that parallel real-life, that’s a given I’m sure most media literates can take note of. But you can feel this subtle, slice-of-life type of presence, of hope in little moments, and in the seemingly mundane. Even in a futuristic hell-scape such as this — the characters still experience their own fruits of fulfillment however small they may be, be it special delicacies or winning lotteries.
It has such an allusion to realism with it that I can’t quite describe or place my finger on just yet. That I just… cannot find anywhere else in media. Not like this.
This show is like a puzzle but I love trying to pick apart and interpret every minute of it. It really requires me to think much about it. Kind of inspiring and creatively-engaging really, especially when comparing my own work and stories.
That’s my essay for now, but yeah.
SEE YOU LATER, SPACE COWBOY.
I suppose.

(apologizes for any typos, my hand tremors are k i l l i n g me today)
okay okay okay SO--the most divisive fan theory among Ghirahim bitches like yours truly is that Ghirahim was originally forged by Hylia, like Fi, but defected to Demise's side. which i love! but it's so simplistic, and as i have been working on the heroes gate ghirahim chapter, I've been having to figure out his feelings towards those around him, and as such have come up with that theory's needed detail:
ghirahim is first forged for the first hero/first link. hylia forges him with as much power as she can. he is a seriously overpowered blade, because hylia wants to keep link safe. of course she wants only the most deadly saber for him. ghirahim is made to be as human like as possible, because hylia loves her people, loves humans, loves their light and their laughes but also their grief and their rage, their ability to feel. she loves link, and wants to give link more than a sword. she wants to give him a companion. so he's gifted the most powerful, closest to human sword spirit that the surface has ever seen. but-- companion doesn't mean free thinker. ghirahim is still just a sword, expected to follow orders.
but when you give a new being all these thoughts and feelings, set them up to kill from day one, but give them no free will? they're gonna push back. so ghira does. he disobeys orders to instead do what he things is best, he lets his emotions get the best of him, and frankly, he doesn't like the idea of being entirely created just for some guy that he doesnt even like. the leash that hylia has him on is getting increasingly shorter and increasingly tight as she realizes that she may have made a mistake in how she chose to forge this sword. which just frustrates ghira more. he doesnt like link, he doesnt respect hylia, and he's sick of being told how to act. and it's with all these swirling thoughts that demise comes in.
demise, who promises him free will, the ability to act as he wants, do what he wants, with only the condition that the leash switches hands. give demise information, betray the humans and hylia, and demise will gift him free will. and ghira, not even thinking to consider that free will isnt a gift to be given, accepts.
the transfer changes him. he's like those college kids who never so much as swore in high school bc of over protective parents but then got to college and go bat shit off the walls now that no one is breathing down their necks. the ability to do whatever he wants with out consequence as long as he helps demise? gimme gimme gimme. and demise takes complete advantage of this vulnerability. does ghirahim know he's being manipulated? probably. but frankly, he doesnt care. he has a life now, and it's all thanks to demise! swearing allegiance is a no brainer. being made the demon king's right hand is a dream come true. being twisted into something cruel and vile is intoxicating and wonderful. he loves demise. honestly, truly does, and he doesnt care how many people that love has hurt.
moving back to hylia, who is horrified. her choice to forge the strongest blade possible means that demise now has a weapon of insane power, and giving ghirahim emotion opened him up to manipulation. she couldnt let that happen again. link needed a sword, and she knew what she needed to do.
so she makes an incomplete sword. not the master sword, with it's upgraded damage and glittering blade. the goddess sword. short, simple, elegant. link is a strong swordsman-- he can handle a weaker sword. it's worth it if it means this new sword cant hurt them in the wrong hands. then, she purposefully makes fi less emotional, more analytical, thinking that way she could secure the sword's never ended support. fi cant be swayed by emotion, and will always see the importance in them winning. a sword who, in hylia's eyes, could never be a companion. the perfect sword. she doesnt even name fi-- link does, and even using her name makes hylia twitchy. the thought of fi being a person like ghira was practically sends her into fight or flight
fi the perfect sword 2.0. the perfect sword, that fails anyways. fi isnt strong enough, sharp enough, dangerous enough, and link falls under demise's new, love drunk sword. hylia sends her people skyward, sticks fi in her pestle, and as she gives up her divinity, becomes convinced that it was never ghirahim being too emotional, or fi too dull, it was her, thinking she could forge life.
(except, someone, millennium later, does forge life successfully. skyswd link reforges fi into the strongest blade the world has seen, helps her feel for the first time, always calls her by her name, loves her completely with his whole heart, and she never abandons him. ghirahim made his own choice. fi made hers. hylia can only shape a blade, not force it to move)

If a piercing gaze could kill, you would’ve been lying there dead for hours. Luckily, it couldn’t, and the worst that could meet you for your boldness were his long and strong hands, able to catch you before you would run for it—and pin you down until you beg for mercy.
For some reason he hasn’t moved yet, leaving you to do your shenanigans as you please. He’s probably been too lazy, much to his own demise, because you definitely wouldn’t leave him alone on your own.
“Y/N,” Kinemon whines and frowns. “Leave me alone already. Don’t you have anything better to do?”
“No.” You aren’t lying. There’s nothing better than tickling his nose with a blade of grass. You run its tip right under his left nostril and giggle at the sight as his face scrunches in yet another hilarious expression.
“Do you want me to sneeze so bad?” He grumbles and tries to turn away.
“Yes.”
If he only wanted, he could just snap your hand away. Or take the grass from you. Well, he did take it, once, but you have a whole arsenal around you, no need to move an inch to get a new one. The fight was lost for him, if he refused to fight back.
You love teasing your partner. He’s worked up so easily, like a child trapped in the body of an adult man, but hardly ever tries to oppose you. He can’t even raise his voice properly against you—even if he can shout louder than a group of men, you’ve witnessed. There’s something about you that turns him into a salt dome, the absolutely dumbest man alive, a fool sentenced for doom on his own record. A victim so easy to be bullied you almost feel sorry for irritating him.
Almost.
You’re just utilizing all the possibilities that opened for you.
Since his nose got used to relentless tortures, you slide the grass down, teasing his lips on your way. Kinemon tries to catch it with teeth, no luck, as he hasn’t put even an ounce of will into it. You don’t have to put any effort into that, you can just enjoy yourself, safe and sound, sitting on his chest, and tracing his skin as you please. His chin is as ticklish as his nose, his face turns sour and he bites on the inner side of his cheek to not burst into hysterical laughter.
Humming, you continue the exploration, teasing his facial hair until you get bored with his easing reactions. His neck is your next target—and this time his whole body spasms, hard enough for you to jump in your place on his chest.
Of course. Neck is the most ticklish of his sensitive spots.
“You are crossing the line,” Kinemon tries to sound harsh and serious, but tears appearing in the corners of his eyes ruin the effect. “This is a forbidden area.”
He always says more than he means, so you happily ignore him yet again, merciless grass tickling down his throat.
“Y/N!” His voice pitches hilariously high, words barely able to squeeze through clenched teeth. How many weird sounds you’ll be able to drag out of him just teasing his neck, you wonder.
Frankly, you don’t expect him reacting—and especially not pouncing at you, for once in his life using the upper hand he has over you: his enormous size. In no time you’re flipped on your back, both of your arms pinned to the grass, and your lips pressed to his in a deep, desperate even, kiss. It’s simple, a bit clumsy, but the sudden switch and his determination to keep your tickling schemes away from him is enough to take your breath away and make you behave.
“That’s better,” he rasps against your lips, his face scarlet-red but his eyes gleaming with mischief you hadn’t seen in them for so long. He takes the traitorous blade of grass out of your hand and attacks your nose, mimicking the tortures you practiced on him. “Now, let’s see how smart you’re gonna be if I tickle you back.”

Revenge at The Sports Festival (Aoyama x Reader + a sprinkle of violence)
Author's note: im sorry for all the mina fans out there who are about to witness this crazy piece of work i cooked up about a year ago so..yeah as for the rest of y'all plz enjoy this. ALSO the reader has a quirk called 'Phase Mirror' which is that you can summon a mirror but you have to think of the person first to transform BUT the only downside is that you can't use the users quirk but you have their strength, voice, agility, speed and physical features but unfortunately you're still a girl if you turn into a male character or not that's why this is a Fem insert ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
"We're gonna charge right along to the fifth match!" Present Mic's voice boomed through the arena.
Meanwhile, in your section, which was the section for each class in U.A you sat with your hero course classmates of Class 1-A. You sat beside Jirou and Tsuyu watching the two competitors walk out of the opposite sides of the arena doors. On the left, came out Mina. You didn't really like her because she was a little...much for you to handle, her personality only bothering you a little here and there. It kind of scared you at first, but when you first got to spar with her or anyone for training, you put all your inhibitions behind as in you don't care about how extroverted or shy they are. No fucks given, no questions. But not in a bloodthirsty villain type of way though.
Aside from that, from the right corner, out walked Aoyama, the most beautiful boy in the class..well that's what you thought of him as but you would never say it to his face. And every time he was talking to you or even within your eyesight you either stop what you're doing or you do something totally stupid because of how much you think of him. His shimmery indigo eyes, his shiny and clean blonde hair, almost everything you loved about him. But you'd never dare tell it to the girls, the secret would be out before it would be even told.
"Ribbit, hey y/n, you okay? You seem to be concentrating on this fight more than any of the other ones." Tsuyu asked in curiosity. It caught you off guard causing you to flinch a bit and yelp, " Huh?! Oh it was you, Tsu. Sorry. I'm just really looking forward to how this fight is going to go like."
Present Mic continues to announce the competitor's descriptions.
"Let's hope that stunning belt suits some kind of purpose it's Yuga Aoyama from the hero course!"
Aoyama flips his hair and smoothly greets with a suave "Bonjour~" as he sends a wink your way.
Don't even get y/n started about when he speaks French within his sentences. That's just an easy way to fluster her. Anybody who says otherwise of it being fake is getting a hand across their face. You just adore the way he speaks it with his sweet soft-spoken voice. A goofy smile starts to grow on your face but you instantly shake it off before anybody sees it. JIrou and Tsuyu exchange confused looks before Mina is announced,
"VERSUS!, Is there some reason for those horns on top of her head? From the same class, Mina Ashido!"
The crowd of heroes and Hosu citizens cheer for the combatants.
Booo. You mentally hiss at Mina in your head.
Mina gave Aoyama a sneaky-like chuckle as she confidently chimed, "This is gonna be a piece of cake." As she motions her fingers as guns in his direction. Aoyama responds, " I do believe you'll be eating those words mademoiselle~" as sparkles dance around him as per usual.
"C'mon Mina you can do it." Tsuyu encouraged.
Huh?! She's cheering for her? Does nobody else in this class believe in Aoyama except me?! You contradicted. Just then, another voice came behind you but more with a lisp.
"Don't show her any mercy Aoyama!"
You turn to the voice with a hopeful expression on your face but to your demise it was no one other than MIneta.
"Fight like you're in one of those video games where everyone's clothes get beaten off!" he hollers.
Yeah, that hopeful demeanor on your face disappeared in an instant, turning into a hate-filled frown as you turned back to see the fight. You could already hear Midoriya nerding out as usual as with every fight from below your row. Seconds later, the fight started as your eyes were glued on Aoyama as he thrusted his hips with his first shot of his Navel Laser. His quirk to you is very exotic as the name says but you never liked the torture it did to his body. Mina easily dodges the beam and starts to slide around the arena with her acid quirk from her feet.
Her quirk compared to your quirk is a big contrast as much as you two's personalities. Your quirk is Phase Mirror. You can summon a mirror that you can go through like a portal, but first, you have to think of the person you want to turn into before you phase into it. Unfortunately, there are two downturns from it: the first being that you can't work his/her quirk so basically it's a blank. But on the plus side, from physical appearance, you have it all, from eyes, hair, skin color, and sometimes their own voice along with their ability of speed, intellect, and strength. Which leads to the second downside: you don't have the person's height or other anatomical qualities you stay a female if you mirrored a male or not.
Back to the fight, you cold hear Mina state that she knows Aoyama's weakness and how they were on the same team when they did their first combat training. Aoyama just kept thrusting that laser around trying to aim for her. You wanted to scream at him that he can beat her and that you had hope in him. But you couldn't do that. Your teeth began to grit in annoyance from yourself Every stream of the glittery blue laser missed Mina by centimeters yet inches and then a slightly bigger beam was sent in her direction seconds later. Your eyes were not gonna miss a single millisecond of this. Then suddenly, the beautiful beam stopped. Uh-oh. You knew what that meant. HIs quirk was paying him consequences.
Wait...
That bitch!
She planned this all along, she waited and skated around like a freakin' pro roller blader and dodged all his attacks until he couldn't shoot his laser no more, what a low move!
Your mouth stood agape for a minute as a short 'oh?' exited out of your throat. She then formed a small patch of acid in her hand and threw it at Aoyama's belt gem.
No! Not the belt, you monster!
Aoyama, shocked, started panicking about his precious belt being ruined. Oh, and ot didn't stop there, the acid that MIna catapulted at his belt also melted the waistband of his pants off which meant..yea. He got pants-ed. Which lead him to getting a sharp and triumphant uppercut from the pink alien. Suddenly, you saw everything start to move in slow motion as Aoyama, your light when you felt dark, fainted from the defeat/humiliation. Midnight declares Mina as the winner as the crowd cheered. You didn't notice you were just sitting there with a befuddled look on your face until Jirou tapped you on the shoulder and spoke, "Uh, y/n, the fight's over. What's with the face? It was totally obvious that Mina was going to win."
In this situation, you would have death stared her till the break of evening. So instead of doing said action, you chose to lie as you told it from your lips with a fake smile, "Well Jirou, my dear friend, i was just shocked from how she eagerly defeated him in the end." Adding a earnest chuckle whilst doing so, then lowly adding, "Never saw that coming from her."
After the match your class saw Aoyama as he was hauled away to probably Recovery Girl with his pants halfway up his waist with Mina watching the scene also. She puts her hands together with closed eyes and a cheeky smile as to say, 'Oh, sorry that i pants-ed you in front of the whole Hosu audience, ha ha ha ha' like it'll just go away.
"Dang, Aoyama went down hard! That's about the most quickest victory I've seen here Sports Fans!" Present Mic bellowed excitedly from the speakers. Still in the arena, Mina starts celebrating, throwing peace signs and laughing while the cameras snap at her as the crowd roars for her.
Disgusted.
That's how you felt for her and her alone at this very moment. You couldn't bottle up anymore, you seeing Aoyama knocked out AND humiliated made you not just angry, but now hungry for something you rarely feasted for...
Revenge.

I think seeing people blame Snape for Sirius’s death has to be one of the most outrageous things I’ve ever witnessed in the Harry Potter fandom. Severus is so far removed from Sirius’s death that you must actually need to stretch before making that kind of a reach.
Personally there are 3 people (and 2 honorable mentions) that I blame for Sirius Black’s untimely demise. One of which being Sirius himself. His ass shouldn’t have been in the Ministry in the first place. The other two of course being Kreacher and Bellatrix Lestrange.
Honorable mentions being Harry and Dumbledore. People blame Snape for Sirius’s death because Severus canceled Harry’s occulumency lessons. But fail to complete the thought because it’s not like he did that just because, just for shits and giggles. Harry invaded, and violated Severus’s privacy going through his pensive like that. You telling me that if someone invades your privacy, you’re gonna let them back in your house?? Yeah okay. Harry fucked that up for himself. He should’ve taken those lessons more seriously. And Dumbledore?? He should’ve known that tasking Snape with giving these lessons to Harry that that was not going to end well. He knew about the animosity between those two. If he felt they were so important, he should have given those lessons to Harry himself.
Lastly in regards to Dumbledore, there is no one that can convince me that he did not know that Sirius was innocent, and still let him go to Azkaban. Those fanfics where Dumbledore is manipulative and orchestrated everything seem the most realistic to me.

No. But really. I am so categorically down terrible. But also for the game, the amount of fun facts I could compile, would, make google doc tremble with the sheerest of fear. And probably make me cry, I’ve already got all their D.O.B. All the dates and occurrences, done some guessing games. Did math for this stupid ass COD game, which is high praise because getting me to do math is like telling me to date a man. Which, y’know, is never gonna happen. Not to mention. The split-Bell au, duel-Bell au? Never figured out what we were gonna call that, can truly show the depth of the games options. Blake Miller — Aka Wolf — (fem!bell), is the lethal untameable of the coin who would send the team into its demise of it weren’t for Belvedere Grasso — Aka Bell — (mal!bell) who interjects after the subsequent interrogation after Blake fibs about the Duga-2 Array being the nuclear armaments host location. But what I think is interesting is that Bell no matter the options isn’t thinking completely coherently. I mean, literally. Imagine you’ve just been given a healthy dosage of a unknown and likely hallucinogenic or memory reactive drug, right through the cerebral no doubt. Y’know, casually, ADMINISTERED THROUGH THE EYE. That’s painful, and incredibly dread inducing. Followed by the occurrence of one of the most gut-turning memory sequences, and outwardly we hear that Bell undergoes seizures(multiple depending on the route what V/O you’re given), a quickened pulse and likely more unspoken of. But it’s all dependant on the path taken, you seem to have a much easier job if you listen to Adler. However, if you don’t. You go through a literal psychological horror, you go back to the point where it started. You go back to where your identity was stripped from its very core.
Which again is why I like two Bells, even if it’s complicated to establish. Especially when they’re half-siblings. You see: Blake, doesn’t listen. She doesn’t trust Adler, she disdains his existence. Every breath of smoke he extinguishes from his charred lungs. He projected on her gave her scars to remember. Belvedere does trust him, for god sakes he loves him of course his voice is a soothing guidance amongst a sea of otherworldly horrors. Put perhaps that trust is near religious in nature.
In other words, me and @ssmoki are terrible! This game has consumed my mind since 2020 when I played the game when I was sick and didn’t understand what the fuck was going on! But I may also write a whole fanfic for this AU. Which’ll be like making a Trojan horse by myself because, wow, that’s a lot of character deets! But all I gotta do is remember the painfully agonising slowburn I have for two special dumbasses. Well, one certainly isn’t a dumbass but Blake sure is. And ofc whatever the blazing glory star that is Bell/Adler. We love our intoxicatingly loving, near insane levels of Florence Nightingale syndrome lovelies! Anyways! Heres a fun fact — Adler was born in 1937 on February. During Fracture Jaw (January 26th, 1968), that would make him 30 as it takes place in January. I think, again I don’t do math. Also another one; I chose the name Blake for fem!bell (Her real name is actually Yelena Ivana Krasnova, which is a mouthful) when I was going by Wyatt. So now when I say Blake I get confused on whether it’s me or my own damn self-insert at this point. Which now that I think about it is really driving the ‘self-insert’ aspect. But hey, all OCs for media are conventionally self inserts! Let’s be honest..
Also I don’t use tumblr often so like.. Catch me anywhere else, how ‘bout that. And I am also, terrible with social interaction. Hey guys, how are you! /h /gen

My dislike towards Pyre theory Knightfall
I feel like being negative today. Disclaimer of course, I am not attacking anyone whole believes in this theory, just my thoughts about it, which are mostly negative.
First of all, what is Pyre theory? It's theory that Maiden powers behave the same way as Ozma's reincarnation curse. Whenever Maiden dies, next one inherits the soul of previous Maiden, behaving similar as Ozma with his reincarnations. This would mean that Pyrrha's soul is within Cinder and it will eventually fully resurface. There are of course interpretations where Pyrrha just defeats Cinder internally and takes over the body, but I'll focus on Knightfall interpretation of this theory which implies Pyrrha will help redeem Cinder and story will end with Jaune/Pyrrha/Cinder (but not really since two of them share the body).
____________________________________________________________
With that out the way, let me start with what I think makes no sense with the theory. First, if it behaves like Ozma's curse, then the original version should be the one reincarnating, not subsequent ones. Meaning, if Fall Maiden powers behave the same way as Ozma's curse, then Cinder would have the soul of original Fall Maiden in her body, not Pyrrha's.
Even if we ignore that and say Maiden powers behave differently than Ozma incarnations, why would it be Pyrrha? At no point in the story is Pyrrha fully fledged Maiden. Cinder absorbed half of Amber's Maiden powers in flashback, leaving her as empty husk. She then proceeded to interrupt transfer process in Volume 3. And when she did so, it is heavily implied she took all the power with Amber's death. So at most, Pyrrha had just smidge or no Maiden powers at all. So logically, if the theory is correct, the one in Cinder's body should be Amber's soul, not Pyrrha's.
We've also never seen this happen in canon, despite meeting several Maiden characters. Raven doesn't show any indications of having another soul within her despite being Maiden for years. And I wouldn't read too deep into Penny's last words to Winter, since that feels like more of a figure of speech than anything. You wouldn't be bidding someone final farewell if your soul is gonna pop up in their body in near future.
_____________________________________________________________
So far, it seems pretty illogical to me, but let me focus on what is often presented as smoking gun. During the fight with Jaune in Volume 5, Cinder avoids seriously injuring Jaune and instead decides to impale Weiss with the spear. Both avoiding injuring Jaune and using spear to impale Weiss have been interpreted as Pyrrha's soul within Cinder subconsciously protecting Jaune (and attack on Weiss as Pyrrha's lingering resentment because Jaune's crush on her).
This to me doesn't work. First of all, I feel like Cinder not hurting Jaune fails hard on Occam's razor. There are so many interpretations more plausible than "Pyrrha's soul is stopping her". Maybe it's arrogance because Jaune is not a threat to her, maybe it's sadism because she wants him to witness his friends' demise (and she knows she won't get any pleasure from his death since he has no will to live), maybe it's caution since she doesn't want to trigger Ruby's silver eyes, maybe that JNPR anthology chapter is canon and she thinks he is cute, and so on. My point is that it's a stretch.
Cinder using spear might seem odd, but then you realize she often copies tactics and moves from her opponents. Relatively recent example is her copying Fria's Maiden power vortex at the end of Volume 8. It's also different looking spear compared to Milo.
I don't wanna even entertain prospect of Cinder impaling Weiss as "it's Pyrrha". Because if that's the case, that has to be the biggest character assassination in the show. Pyrrha going from selfless to the fault to "I am gonna stab that bitch because she is too close to Jaune". If there is indeed Pyrrha inside of Cinder subconsciously affecting her actions, there is no way she'd drive her to behave as stereotypical yandere. Besides, Cinder's backstory gives us enough explanation why she hates Atlas and anything Atlas related.
Whole Volume 5 argument feels incredibly wonky to me and seems to rely on stretching events to fit what you want them to fit and outright character assassination.
______________________________________________________________
There is also an argument that Pyrrha hasn't resurfaced yet based on Salem's faction's shock at realizing how fast Ozma reincarnated. However, I feel like that simply takes away any supposed evidence theory had and puts it on hold until further notice.
To me, this theory feels like something that needs lot of build up. You can't just suddenly reveal in theoretical Volume 11 "oh, Pyrrha was there the entire time". As it is, there is no any foreshadowing. You can argue I am being hypocritical here since I theorize Knightfall as plausible endgame scenario despite that also having almost no build up so far. But here is the thing, this is even more complicated version of Knightfall. This requires set up of Pyrrha being established as being inside of Cinder and Pyrrha and Cinder coming to terms with each other before even going towards Knightfall. And considering story is slowly approaching it's climax (or I guess not approaching looking at recent developments), I feel like there is not enough space for all of that to happen.
_____________________________________________________________
Ok, but even if I ignore all inconsistencies with established powers and say it's possible to cram all these plot developments within 4-5 volumes without feeling rushed, I have to ask, is it necessary? Is Pyrrha being inside Cinder necessary for her redemption and potential romance with Jaune? I'd say no.
Pyrrha's story doesn't hit any particular beat that makes me go "if she had a talk with Cinder she'd be able to help her". At most, you can go with "power won't make you happy" angle. Pyrrha had status and power her entire life, yet she didn't feel truly happy until she met Jaune. She could try to reason with Cinder to make her see the truth. However, I don't think Pyrrha is necessary for this. Not only is Cinder becoming more and more miserable which could make her see this on her own, she is also bound to Relic that makes user see various futures. Cinder seeing doomed future of her quest for power via Relic of Choice is significantly simpler and likely way to do it.
On the other hand, you have Jaune, who is almost mirror to Cinder. Both have deep self worth issues connected to their perceived weakness. Both also experienced bullying because of it. However, Jaune always had someone to pick him up and help him, while Cinder was alone most of her journey. Cinder is what Jaune could have been if he had nobody to support him and vice versa. To me, Jaune is almost perfect character to reach out to Cinder, while Pyrrha feels inferior to various other main characters (Ruby, Yang, Blake) in that regard. If they want to redeem Cinder, "ingredients" are already there, there is no reason to dig up Pyrrha's corpse (or urn I guess) to do it.
______________________________________________________________
There are also multiple narrative casualties of this theory, besides Pyrrha's potential character assassination if Weiss' impalement was her doing.
First victim is Cinder. Common aspect of her story is lack of choice and control. First fifteen years of her life she was either abused in orphanage or enslaved by Madame. She quite literally had no control over her circumstances. Then she becomes agent of Salem, giving her illusion of control and letting her roleplay as huntress, something she perceived as most free profession one can have. However, in aftermath of Volume 3, she is grimmified due to her sustained injuries. So now, she has both limited control of her circumstances and her body.
But then comes Pyrrha, worming herself inside of Cinder, something Cinder cannot control. So all previous losses of control were treated as bad thing by narrative, however, this one is treated as something positive. So character that is supposed to be about breaking free and making her own choice is being redeemed by losing control over her own mind. Am I the only one that thinks this would be beyond weird? Oscar is another character losing his sense of self due to sharing his body, but this is not treated as a good thing. If Pyre were to happen, this creates hypocritical narrative that it's bad when your friend is having his mind taken over, but it's good when your enemy has their mind taken over.
However, I feel like Jaune is bigger victim of this theory. First of all, his character gets stuck in permanent state of always relying on Pyrrha. You know that phase of the story when Jaune considered himself worthless because Pyrrha was gone and he tried to martyr himself? Well, it appears he wasn't wrong. This resolves Jaune's rivalry with Cinder by having Pyrrha jump in to save the day, proving he indeed never grew as a character. Be it Jaune redeeming Cinder or helping to defeat her, these scenarios at least showcase Jaune's character growth. He won his own way, relying on his own strengths and talents. Having Pyrrha appear to save the day regresses his character back to early volume days.
Additionally, this is pet peeve I have with certain people regarding Knightfall. Basically, people go "oh I can't ship this, she killed Pyrrha" or opposite "this AU is fine because she didn't kill Pyrrha in it". Of course, you can ship whatever you want and dislike whatever you want, this isn't shipping police. Pyre theory to me feels this way. It's okay to ship them now, because Pyrrha is technically alive and they have her blessing. And I feel this would make Jaune weirdly hypocritical. People seem to forget Cinder killed way more people than just Pyrrha and hyper focus on her. Jaune forgiving Cinder in scenarios in which Pyrrha is definitively dead is significantly more powerful. It turns him into almost ideal hero that is willing to extend his hand to someone who hurt him beyond reasonable measure. Pyrrha being alive kind of undermines that. Cinder's biggest sin is erased and Jaune is now okay with her. After all, she only killed bunch of minor characters, she didn't kill his partner.
____________________________________________________________
That's enough rambling for today. I might come overly negative here, but I don't think Pyre theory is completely bad. What Embers Remain on fanfiction.net is one of my favorite Knightfall fanfictions, and that's technically Pyre theory. However, I dislike narrative implications this theory would have if it were to happen. Although I don't think I've seen any serious Pyre theory speculations in a while, so theory might be dead and this post was just multiple paragraphs of beating up a dead horse.
Either way, what are your thoughts on Pyre theory?

Hey There,
Hope everything is going well for you! I wanted to thank you for stating in an ask from a previous anon, about the idea that Aemond could have 2 loves in the HOTD TV series, in Heleana and in Alys. The former being his light and the latter, leading him into darkness and deception, and his demise. I really, really hope the show really strikes home to casual viewers to that perspective. I really want Aemond to have someone to genuinely care for him on the show in a love interest type of way. I jprobably am jumping to conclusions but Alys is really trying to insert herself in the game of thrones type of power situation, by having his child, but I don't trust her at all. At least that's how I read her character in the book. Also, I want and hoping that Helaena finds genuine love before everything goes to crap for her.
I think this is uniquely a show thing.
In the book, Aemond has no scenes or interactions with Helaena. He really only interacts with Aegon and Criston. Though, to be fair, Daeron doesn't have any interactions with his family in the book, beyond being stated as Alicent's favorite person in the world and her sworn shield for most of the war - so you can infer that Alicent and Daeron are very close and spend most of their time together.
So, speculation being what it is. I would say that judging by the show, and not having any knowledge of how Alys is gonna be handled. I can only infer from what I know about her in the book that she is darkly ruthless and becomes ambitious. Which matches well with Aemond who is the polar opposite of his show counterpart in the book - loud, boisterous, and slightly unhinged.
They're kinda perfect together in "Fire & Blood".
But now, with the change of Aemond's character in the show, I'm not sure how good he would be with Alys, cause how they meet in the book, and how they became lovers, is not at all in Aemond character in the show. Show!Aemond states that he doesn't enjoy depravity, but how he gets with Alys is the soul of depravity. So, I really can't see Aemond and Alys relationship working in the show unless she is the one that encourages it. Or if Aemond snaps after "Blood and Cheese" and turns more outwardly villainous.
Thus, my speculation is that Helaena and her love ennobles Aemond and once she reverts to madness and he loses that centering that her love for him gave, he goes looking for another outlet and finds Alys who is darker and more suited for a war time wife than the fairy tale princess Helaena who was tarnished forever by being good and clean in an ugly world.
Of course, the trade off is that Alys plays on Aemond's worst instincts while Helaena always encouraged the best in him. But the question is that when the world is afire, is his love for Helaena nothing but naivety and childhood nostalgia? And Alys more a realistic and better partner for this dark life they now lead?
Those are the kinda questions I think would be prevalent going forward between the two women that Aemond loves.
But it really depends on how they portray Alys in the show and what her motivations are. I've got a buddy who got to see some of the Alys audition tapes ...
And from what I've been told, she's kinda a run of the mill 2023 insufferable 'stong" female character that is mouthy and girl bossing in an age and environment in which she'd get her teeth knocked out or raped for sassing a Lord that just took her castle. She's absolutely not in character with the book - who was incredibly cunning and reserved in dealing with her captors, including seducing one of them into marrying her.
From what I understand, Alys is being used as sort of a mouthpiece by Condal to take big swipes at Daemon and Team Black Stans. And, while I usually welcome that - God Knows the blackcels need a good ass kicking - I don't want a Mary-Sue strutting around Harrenhal running her mouth consequence free. Just because I agree with her anti-Rhaenyra and Anti-Daemon dialogue, doesn't mean it automatically makes her a good character.
But we'll see.

Nobody asked for this, but how I think different Core 4 rs act when they’re jealous when someone is flirting with their partners:
Lexy:
- She will fr judge this person, mean girl look up and down.
- Treats people like a germ if she catches them flirting with someone she loves.
- She won’t get into a physical fight over it, but we all know Lexy’s sass could kill anyways-
- She’ll seem a little amused when whoever she’s with tells that person off, but she will have no hesitation with stepping in if she needs to.
- Lexy from S1 will come back from the dead real quick-
“Sorry; it’s just funny how you think you have a chance with them.”
Jake:
- The hot kind of jealous - jaw clenched, tongue rolls, scoffing - the usual.
- He would be stuck between “fight and insecure” On one hand, he’s physically restraining himself from going to roundhouse kick whoever is threatening his relationship but then he’ll get afraid: what if Devon falls for this person’s jokes? Or their looks?
- But then he remembers he’s in a relationship with one of the most loyal people he knows and the fight comes back.
- Rolls his eyes, and if it gets too out of hand, he’ll calmly come up behind Devon and kiss his cheek with a smile, wrapping his arms around his waist.
- Undoubtedly doing this to get under that person’s skin, and Devon knows that, but he’s not gonna stop it.
“Hey Dev - oh. Who’s this?”
Devon:
- Ooh.
- On the outside, he looks like a pouty child who didn’t get a toy they wanted, but on the inside, he is plotting that person’s demise.
- If Jake asks him about it, he’ll giggle and play it off or say “Well, maybe I’m a little bit jealous…”
- His jealousy and anger has always been the calm before the storm, tbh. He’ll look calm but no one notices the clenched fists in his pockets, or how his smile looks a little too forced.
- He won’t do anything in that moment, but there’s a chance he’ll be up finding someone tonight, and getting all possible blackmail and MAYBE sending some questionable stuff to their parents.
- Digital footprint is his best friend.
- He’s not the type to get violent unless he has to, and he knows Jake would never leave him, but it doesn’t stop him from thinking “How dare you flirt with what’s mine?”
- In all honesty, God help whoever he thinks is trying to take Jake away from him.
“Hi. I’m Jake’s boyfriend, it’s a pleasure. Now, you have two options, delete his snap or I’ll send your AO3 history to your parents and your school.”
Grant:
- He is a puppy. That is it.
- He’ll follow us S/O around and stay close by their side, and pouts when someone is flirting with them.
- Like Jake, he is stuck between fight and insecure, but he compromises by sticking to their side like glue.
- Like seriously, his hands never leave them. He becomes really clingy when he’s jealous, he also gets petty.
- “Uhm, hi, I’m their boyfriend.”
Junior:
- Jesus.
- Literally exactly like Devon and that’s why they’re friends.
- Like when Lexy threatened to start talking to Oliver, Junior honestly considered killing him, even planned it out.
- Of course, he still had some sense, so he dismisses the thoughts quickly.
- If they’re at a party, he will do one of two things. Sulk or he’ll get possessive and go up behind Lexy and not let her go.
- Maybe even start kissing her neck from the extra measure, slightly gripping her waist.
- There’s a reason he is with Lexy, and it’s not just because he’s soft with her. Because like Lexy, he is a mean person.
- So he will not hesitate to embarrass this person on the spot
“Sorry, who are you again? And what are you wearing-?”
All of these are 100% accurate. I can definitely see Grant becoming very clingy when he is jealous.

The Killer Klowns from Outer Space; An Essay and Review of the BIZZARE, but FANTASTIC 1988 Classic
Tumblr media
Pizza? No, klowns. On May 27th, 1988, Stephen Chiodo unleashed the killer klowns from outer space, a bizarre story of two lovers and some of their friends battling the clowns, and trying to stop their siege of their small town. Where do these clowns come from you may ask? Well, outer space of course. What do they want? Well, it’s hard to say. They abduct humans and…drink their blood?? All else that can be said about them is they’re scary and come armed with many fun weapons, including balloon dogs, popcorn, and an iconic cotton candy gun, which they use to abduct their victims.
The film stars Grant Cramer as Mike Tobacco, Suzanna Synder as Debbie Stone, and John Allen Nelson as Dave Hanson, which round out our main cast, Mike and Debbie being our couple, and Dave being Debbi’s ex, although a cool one. The film also has a list of side characters that are either hilarious or make up for some awesome kills…or scary moments. Peter Licassi, who plays Paul, and Michael Siegel, who plays Rich are the town's odd and a bit dumb ice cream guys, who drive around in a ridiculous, although funny truck. They make up for some funny comic relief. John Vernon plays hardass, ball-busting cop Curtis Mooney, who doesn’t seem to love our protagonist, and also doesn’t believe in the Klown invasion, which pretty much seals his demise, and probably didn’t help the town’s chances. He also has a pretty cool death, which also delivers one of the film's more creepy moments when Mike comes into the police station to find one of the clowns using him as a ventriloquist doll. It’s quite unsettling. Also, who can forget another one of the movie’s most unsettling moments where a little girl, played by actress Claire Bartle is lured away from her parents by one of the clowns, likely to be killed. It’s one of the film's most unsettling scenes, right up there with the ventriloquist scene. Although on the topic of cool and fun kills, the shadow puppet kill, where one of our star clowns shows off some of his shadow puppet skills to a group of normal citizens, and in the end, uses his skills to make a monster puppet that eats them in an awesome scene. “What are you gonna do? Knock my block off?”…famous last words for Michael Halton’s biker character, who gets his head punched off by one of the film's most iconic klowns, Shorty. What about Karla Sue Krull, who has a small scene as Tracy and again, one of the film's most iconic moments, when she opens the door to a knock and is welcomed by clowns, and as soon as she asks “pizza”, she learns this is no normal pizza delivery, as she’s zapped into cotton candy. Now, what are you gonna do with those pies boys? Another bit of famous last words from a carnival security guard, played by actor David Piel, who witnesses loads of klowns getting out of a clown car, and after asking his iconic question is pied to death, by……ACIDIC PIES!?
These klowns mean business. Although, so does the ending. After maneuvering their way through the town, our characters wind up at a carnival, ready to take on the klowns and destroy them once and for all. Although the klowns won’t make it easy on them, as they must run through a gauntlet of creative carnival sections like colorful swinging door frames, through monster's mouths, down a fire station poll, nearly into a monster's mouth, and the killer klowns cotton candy factory or storage, etc. The finale takes place in a big arena with the king (or queen) Klown, Klownzilla, or Jojo. When it appears, in its monstrous size, the other klowns seem to back away in fear as if it is some form of leader, and the battle begins. After dodging its attacks, attempted gunshots, and a fakeout death of the two ice cream truckers…because the truck was a rental or whatever, Mike and Debbie make it out alive, with Dave staying back to finish off the massive final boss of a klown. After it’s got Dave in its grips, just when we think it’s over for him, he removes his police badge to give it one fatal blow to the nose, causing it to spin out of control, and explode. Now, us, Mike, and Debbie thinking he, and the two ice cream truck drivers, Paul and Rich are dead, in comes a klown car hurling in from the skies, and its…DAVE, RICH, AND PAUL!? Yes, they’re alive. It’s an all-in-one, fun reunion, with some funny stuff from Paul and Rich and a tear-jerking reunion of Dave, Mike, and Debbie. The Klowns ship, however, isn’t so alive, as it explodes in midair, and at first calmly rains down…cotton candy? Popcorn? Who knows. Debbie asks the one important question though…is it over? Mike answers as any person who experienced this would…I don’t know. Until pies hail down from the sky, pieing them all in the face, with the classic tune Killer Klowns from Outer Space by The Dickies, for a funny and classic ending to this bizarre, pretty scary, funny, and crazy journey, and film/movie we call Killer Klowns from Outer Space.
Some special groups I wanted to mention are the fantastic set designers, costume designers, stunt men, actors, actresses, for the normal people, and the killer wacky klowns, the fantastic performances given by our lead and supporting cast of actors and actresses, the special effects team, etc.
Also, almost forgot to mention…who are the main klowns? Well, you got Jumbo, Fatso, Shorty, Rudy, Spikey, Slim, Bibbo, Chubby, and last, but certainly not least…Klownzilla…or Jojo. There are obviously other klowns too, too many to name, but all are masterfully designed with their own unique quirks and looks. Lastly, what’s their weakness? Well, as I said earlier…a simple blow to the nose. Yep. And they spin around a bit till they explode. Quite a good way to kill them, pretty creative, and really funny actually.
So…that is Killer Klowns from Outer Space. What are your thoughts? When did you first see Killer Klowns? Did you like it or dislike it? Let us know.

Everything Right/Wrong with Ninjago “Legacy of the Green Ninja” E4: Ninjaball Run
Disclaimers: Show owned by LEGO. This is not a professional review/critique- it’s mainly intended for comedy.
Reblog, like, and/or comment for more!
- Intro ✅
- Wu’s method of training Lloyd to metaphorically bare the weight of his responsibilities is to have him literally bare the weight of his family… I don’t have to explain why this doesn’t work, right? We all get how f*cking stupid this is? No wonder Lloyd has no coping mechanisms… ❌
- Why did the construction guys get out of their vehicle to check the building after already driving the wrecking ball through it??? ❌
- “Tomorrow? Let me see that order. Oh, yeah. My bad!🥰” This company can and should be sued for this. In fact, I think I would’ve liked this episode much more if it had turned into a law drama ❌
- “Some developer named Darnagom Enterprises is buying the entire block to put in some stupid frisbee golf course.” Are we just gonna ignore the fact that Garmadon is a business owner now? Yeah? Okay ❌
- Also, where did Garmadon get the money to buy an entire block of the city? ❌
- “Did someone say-“ “*gasp* You didn’t happen to win the lottery?” I mean, it wouldn’t be out of character for Nya… ✅
- “Ninjaball Run” is the biggest road race in all of Ninjago yet none of the ninja or Wu have heard of it before apparently ❌
- “I thank you little lady fighter,” little lady fighter ✅
- Shouldn’t at least one of the ninja ride Ultra with Lloyd? This is the “most dangerous race in Ninjago” yet they’re letting him go it alone, and they’re considering it PRACTICE? Practice is done in a controlled environment, with professional supervision - this is a funeral bill waiting to happen ❌
- “Nervous? Ha, maybe for you guys.” Confidence ✅
- “Pull that lever because what it does…” “what?” “Pull that lever because if you pull that lever…” Never in my life have I heard sentences so deliberately written for contrived plot convenience as these ones ❌
- “It appears some skeletons have crashed the party! Is this against the rules?” I’d sure hope not since that’d seem a bit skeleton-cist ❌
- Ninjago is supposed to be a massive island, but this entire race takes place in under a day and it takes them from the desert, to the Grand Canyon, to the Sherwood Forest, then to f*cking Antarctica, then back to the desert? ❌
- Also, the race course forms a circle. The racers start at the line and then drive counter-clockwise, but by the end of the episode they come back to the line in the opposite direction from the one they should be ❌
- Wait when did the pirates escape prison? ❌
- “Too slow, too slow, we had a lead but let it go!” Royal Blacksmiths sing about their own demise before it even happens ❌
- Also, at no point did they have the lead ❌
- Good to know the Darkley’s kids learned a lot from last episode /s ❌
- “Let’s have a good, clean race!” *transitions to the kids messing w/ ninja’s ride* The joke here doesn’t work because the announcers already established that the only rule is to “cross the finish line first,” so the boys tampering with another racer’s vehicle isn’t actually cheating ❌
- “Will they ever quit?!?” No, Garmadon. No matter what they go through and how much it scars them, these sad, traumatized teens will never quit, even if it’d be better for all of them at this point.
- *Darkley’s boys ram their bus into pirates’ van* “Treachery me lads!” Treachery? What off-screen connection did Soto have with these kids to warrant the word “treachery?” ❌
- *To No-eyed Pete* “Why do I let you drive?!?” Good f*cking question ❌
Tumblr media
- I just love how Lloyd’s dangling from the reigns ✅
- But how does he get back on Ultra? ❌
- “You saved us!” “I did? I mean, I did!” He did ✅
- *Skeletons take Lloyd out* F*ck Krunchaw and Knuckle for what I can assure you are completely, 100% bias-free reasons ❌
Tumblr media
- Karma in its most satisfying form ✅
- “Hope they’re okay…” “Yeah… but if they’re not, stay tuned for the slow motion replay!” People are gonna watch for the slow-mo replay regardless of whether or not the drivers are okay. ❌
- Also, these 2 announcers are sadists ❌
- “I don’t know if you can feel it up there in the booth…” “I feel it alright!” He’s not in the booth; he’s right next to you in the stands ❌
- “They aren’t interested in catching you.” “Those coppers just want to win the race!” Justice system. ❌
- “Nothing can stop us now!” “We’ve used up all our fuel!” Kai jinxes the team, but that’s not what this sin is for; it’s actually for the fact that I think it’s very out-of-character that none of the ninja blame Kai for jinxing them ❌ /lh
- “Well then we’ll just have to do this the hard way, son!” Ed and Edna; the real MVPs ✅
- “I’m trying to win a race!” Quick reminder that Skales is petty as f*ck. He could just ditch this race thing and get away from prison easily but nope! Mans in it to win and I respect that✅
- I was willing to accept the first few but there is no way that not a single person is harmed in a crash this massive ❌
- Garmadon says in his wish that the ninja will NEVER be able to surpass this obstacle, so the fact that they are able to surpass it actually goes against his wish ❌
- “I knew it would bring us luck!” At no point did you ever say that, Jay ❌
- “YOUR ship? I believe this belongs to US.” ✅
- “We did it! We saved the dojo!” Dareth, you didn’t do sh*t and we all know it ❌
- I think this may be the first time I was practically scraping for things to say. I don’t know how to describe it; it’s like so much happened in the span of 22 minutes, but at the same time, literally nothing happened. Like, at all. ❌
Sentence: Anyone remember that one Tom and Jerry movie where they wrecked the house and then entered a really big race to get the money to fix it?

If the three Hook siblings went to therapy, either separately or together, how do you think it would go?
I've got a question in return: Who is dragging them there?
They're all too damn prideful to admit they need it. They don't need help at all, they're hardened pirates, they don't have any feelings to talk about and they've been on their own since they were kids, in case of Harriet taking care of her crew and Isle kids as a pirate Captain while Harry was Uma's first mate.
Obviously they don't need any help.
They so do.
Sure, Harriet could theoretically force her younger siblings to attend, but that would require her to admit she needs it too: she'd need to come to that conclusion at least silently, as she probably wouldn't say it out loud.
Anyway, lets assume she does attend: she's the one most likely to see reason and try to cooperate. Of course, that includes this conversation:
Therapist: „I noticed there is history of anger issues in this family. Have you noticed something similar in yourself?“
Harriet: „No. I have my temper under control.“
Therapist: „That's great! So, what do you do when you are stressed? To relax, unwind, something like a hobby?“
Harriet, smiling: „I wrestle crocodiles.“
Therapist: „Wha-... I'm sorry, what??“
Harriet: „I wrestle crocodiles and I'm damn good at it! What part of that did you not understand?!“
Harry would not be thrilled about attending therapy.
It's not that he doesn't want to get a grip on his mind, but why on earth would he trust this therapist? A person from Auradon, and Actual Adult Authority figure? They never do anything good, do they?
But hey, I hope he recognizes they mean good and let them help him.
Also, he'd just say the most horrifying things ever:
„These pesky buggers [rats!] were getting into everything eating through our sweaters and shoes, deep diving in barrels of rice.“ from Uma's Wicked Book.
And „Nothing says I'll give you a second smile as a razor sharp hook does!“
And just shrug it off, like, no big deal, that happens. It's not like anyone I care about died, is it?
And he's having the hardest time opening up out of the three of them.
CJ, yeah, she needs it. Not like she's gonna admit it or go quietly. I imagine she refuses to speak for quite some time in the office, before she breaks, because this person is being so nice and keeps saying she's safe and it's okay to express your feelings, and nothing is going to happen to you here, CJ, and no, you don't owe me anything, I don't want anything from you.
She just starts yelling and crying angry tears because she doesn't understand what on the seven seas is going on.
Oh, and she, too, like her older siblings, does have some very disturbing things to share. She, too, thinks it's perfectly normal to dodge your parents hand [very sharp hook] whenever said parent is angry.
Oh, and the therapist has to hide any ticking clocks from their office before session with Hooks. For the sake of everyone's sanity.
And group session?
I imagine they'd just keep distracting eachother, teasing eachother and rapidly descending into sibling-arguments. It may or may not involve several well-meant and very graphic death threaths. Possibly in several languages. You know, to spice it up a bit.
(It has been five minutes since they've spoken in English. The therapist is fairly certain they've been planning Frollo's demise on behalf of his daughter for at least one of them. In french, before the younger girl suddenly switched languages mid-sentence. The volume of the conversation is steadily increasing. The therapist doesn't know what to do. But they're going to reach out to Claudine Frollo and offer her sessions.)
The poor therapist starts crying as soon as the siblings leave the office.
Then they start drafting revised therapy plan. And demand higher paycheck.
I'm sorry if this is inaccurate, I've never been to therapist, I have no idea how it should go, so, please, forgive me if this makes no sense?
