I didn't keep track of how long each project took me, but I got the fabric for the vest front and skirt shell six days ago, and finished the shirt yesterday, because I thought it would be funny to make things that would go together for a "Is this something I would have worn in high school in 1990 or is it Dark Academia" ensemble. Motivation is weird.

Master Sword Pt 5: What Does the Shadow think of the Master Sword?

Ehehehe I bet you didn't see that one coming, did you? Perhaps you should have because if you remember, the story of Linked Universe is about two forces: the nine Links and the Shadow. So this is perhaps the most interesting question in this whole series of analysis posts: what does the Shadow think of the Master Sword?

Short answer: he/it hates it. You can tell, because in Shifting Shadows pt 2, Sky and the Shadow are fighting an it shoves back Sky and runs away!

In many places throughout the LU comics, the Shadow has fled from battle proving itself cowardly time and time again... or is it strategic for now? Is it testing the Links? Seeing who is weak and who is strong? Will it take on a stronger form in the future in which it would feel comfortable facing the Links head on without needing to retreat? But I digress.

In Sunset Pt 4, Sky tells Time that the Master Sword and the Shadow's cursed blade did not like each other either and they fought in their own way.

We know that the Master Sword is at full power because it is the Master Sword that Sky forged. We know it is strong enough to change one from a dark world form back to Hylian and prevent corruption by Twilight's shadow crystal. It's the sword that defeated Demise and has defeated or sealed Ganon/Ganondorf time and time again.

So what kind of cursed blade can stand up to the Master Sword? And what kind of wielder is the Shadow? Only time will tell.

Wow gee I keep forgetting to go on Tumblr lately!

This is because things have been hectic, and also because things have been going A LITTLE TOO WELL in my regular non-specifically-whump horror writing career and I have had little time for unadulterated whumpposting.

Hopefully this will change soon (not the success part, just the time part) but it's hard to say! In the meantime, hi! I haven't forgotten about you. I'm just out here joining the Horror Writers Association and generally biting off more than I can chew. You know how it is.

Did you have any further thoughts on the love triangles in both scenarios? Because the way I see it, Christopher would be perfect to get Buck and Eddie back together 🤭

@oneawkwardcookie and I actually planned out a whole kuch kuch hota hai au a couple years ago, and as the seasons have gone on, it's kinda been more and more obvious.

originally, we did nothing but change the names for the au and it worked really well. i'm not gonna share all the details here since we're still planning it and i've been working on it since we found out about the basketball thing, but my thoughts are all scrambled because it just works so perfectly for them.

I'll give you this snippet tho:

Eddie stands in front of the grave for a long time. Everyone else had filtered out amidst condolences and grievances, shared snippets of memories better forgotten, thinly-veiled platitudes for his loss, and empty words that left him feeling hollower than before. Only he remains in the sprawling cemetry, the evening weighing down on him. He feels scraped out, hollow from the inside out as he looks down at the tombstone with his wife’s name on it.

i’ve been quiet on the art front for a little bit bc my hyperfixation with animal crossing came back and i gotta play it out until it tires itself out

my first animal crossing island waaaay back at the beginning of the pandemic was named Destiel and i made it mostly green and blue all throughout and woodsy but i hadn’t played in a year and a half so i nuked my island, started again, and then broke my switch’s screen so i nuked my island AGAIN [thankfully it wasn’t that far along lol]

and renamed it the OG name of the first island i had 

it’s provided some funny dialogue exchanges

also this is what i mapped out on that little website and i’m getting close to it! 

there’s more fun things now to decorate so i’m excite!

The fact that El told Mike straight up in her letters that she had no idea what Will's painting was because he wouldn't show anybody and then Mike still believed Will when he told him that El had dictated what he painted and that she kind of commissioned the piece in his "You're the Heart" speech.

Why on earth would El commission a painting of the boys in a D&D setting all together like they were all those years ago before she even knew them? And if she did ask Will to paint it, why wouldn't she be holding on to it or have given it to Mike as soon as possible?

Why would she commission a piece that didn't include her or anything that represents her and Mike's relationship?

Knowing El, if she had requested a painting it would have included Joyce, Hopper, and Max and it would have been all of them being together in peaceful times (eating eggos, obviously).

It was Will's painting. He made it while remembering the good old days. Before the upsidedown, before the girlfriends, before Mike drifted away, before the Byers left Hawkins, before he was alone.

The painting was so clearly a love letter, but it definitely wasn't from El.

So I just read this post and it got me thinking about how Mike may have His Realization and these are my quick thoughts on it-

El is breaking up with Mike and it turns mutual and while they're having a very sweet, very platonic moment, Mike asks kinda offhandedly, "if you wanted to break up, why did you have Will make that painting for me?"

And El looks at him, a bit confused and goes "I didn't? I've never even seen his painting."

Mike looks puzzled and so she asks what the painting is and he shows her and kinda explains the talk he and Will had and El looks at him sympathetically and like he's an idiot as he mumbles about "why would he lie?" and "this doesn't make any sense."

And she's just like *stern look* "Mike."

And he goes "yeah?"

And she says "friends don't lie, he just wasn't talking about me."

And Mike's face goes blank as he processes what she means, but the realization moment washes over him very obviously and El pats his shoulder and says "go."

And so he immediately goes to find Will and Will is like "hey, what's up?" when he sees Mike looking like a lost puppy at him.

And Mike just kinda looks at him for a minute before finally saying "El doesn't need me."

And Will, being the absolute sweetheart he is, tries to immediately comfort him but Mike is like, "no, Will. El doesn't need me. And she didn't ask you to make that painting."

And then Will goes quiet because oh god, oh no.

And Mike says "it was from you. You were talking about you. It was all you."

And Will just breaks and says through the tears "it's always been you."

And Mike steps toward him and smiles that dorky little smile and says "it's always been us."

I need non autistic people to realise meltdowns are a real debilitating thing that has a serious effect on your mental and physical health NOWWWWW!!! The way its been trivialized and lessened pisses me the fuck off. It's not a tantrum and it doesn't come from "being too weak-willed" it's painful and it's embarrassing AND MOST OF ALL IT'S INVOLUNTARY!!
