So this chapter is kinda prime material to point out Cale’s effect on everyone (look at their language) but I think this little moment is another good tell of why the dragons like Cale so much. I mean sometimes u just like contrary bastards who are all “I’m trash” but really have a heart of gold, but Cale is also super informal with people and beings he has no place being informal and casual with and it just jives with them.

Putting the White Star’s attacks on the other side aside, Kim Rok Soo’s body would not be able to handle it and he would faint if he used any more of his ancient powers.

Fam, you just know that 9/10 times when Cale acknowledges that using anymore power will make him faint, he does it. That tenth time was like once during the the war with the Mogoru Empire I think-and he was just putting it off till the next battle or something- and this little break in this chapter. So my money on him have very serious issues at the end of the battle (s). But Cale is very good at not dying, and ensuring he uses makes it to the end of a fight

Favorite bit of adventurers bible lore is that Marcille was a researcher developing new healing magic before she joined the party but then learned all the offensive spells we see her use in a single day. Insane behavior. Imagine knowing the top med student in the country and one day she drops out of her cancer research program and perfects the art of making pipe bombs in 24 hours.
