I just read your seeker bird kiddo (Jack) and Truck dad Optimus adventures and I beg for more content, I adore it all and the spOoky cryptic parts are 👌

Jack accidentally triggers mechs’ protective instincts because he makes baby bird noises to mimic the local corvids. It doesn't help that Jack parks himself at the entrance to the Ark and plays games with the more playful blackbirds. Dadimus is very much used to Jack’s imitations, the rest of the Autobots (and his counterpart) are most definitely not.

The chirping and screes are reminiscent of newsparks’ calls for attention and care, and it drives the resident Seekerkin up the wall because he is the only sparkling in the vicinity and Jack punches the Seekerkin-coding into activity after four million years of dormancy.

There have been a few jokes to take a recording of the sparkling’s noises and play it to the Decepticon Seekers after the Autobots had seen their own Seekerkin with the kid. TFP Optimus is immediately No. Stop. Control, Alt, and Delete that terrible plan. He will take Jack and run into the most remote environments he can find.

No one knows how Jack did it, but the blackbirds got into gambling, and everyone blames Smokescreen. 

He's partly to blame with the cards, but the dice is Bluestreak's fault.

Jack is a polite menace. The kid knows his manners, but that doesn't stop him from skipping up the walls, hanging on the ceiling, and popping into places that he shouldn't have access to. At all.

Mechs were confused why Dadimus pinged out so often but then realized that's the most reliable way to actually tag Jack as he's a slippery little thing. Sometimes the sparkling responds, but usually he doesn't.

Red Alert is on the verge of having an aneurysm since Jack can bypass all the security measures. Mechs have taken to looking up to see if Jack is trapezing on the panels or checking under the tables and desks because of near unfortunate incidents of almost shooting the kid or shock-related delays with time-sensitive chemical reactions that nearly turned the ship into a massive crater.

Dadimus was highly disappointed and upset by the last part as Jack knows better as he had done similar stunts when they were upon research vessels. Not only Jack had to apologize to Skyfire, Wheeljack, and Perceptor, but he wasn't allowed to stray from Dadimus' field for a month. ("Curiosity cannot override safety protocols.")

On one camera, Jack would be at a corner by the entrance with organic birds, and between blinks he would then disappear and reappear across the ship, talking excitedly to a random corner with a different group of birds.

(If anyone catches them at the right second, at the right angle, at the right frame... the raven/crow/jackdaw/jay will ripple. Feathers dripping and flowing like an inky waterfall and eyes splitting into multiple, countless pairs as Jack's shadow expands- And then, the watcher will blink because they have to, and the footage will reset. Devoid of Jack and blackbirds.)

There's talk about new cryptids going around. It's silly Halloween and superstitious nonsense… until it isn't.

Due to Smokescreen, Bluestreak, and the Aerialbots constantly monitoring the perimeter or setting traps that are becoming more elaborate each week, it's becoming a new running joke. It's the Autobot snipe-hunting. All because of Jack's devoted drawings of strange, contorted creatures.

They're adamant that something is outside.

(They’re right).

An eerie thing begins to appear at the nearby dunes by the Ark’s entrance. It’s vaguely canine and its size is constantly changing. They can smell a wildfire in the air and taste ash upon their tongues as it beckons them to follow with a heavy, burning gaze. 

Before anyone follows, a racket of shrieking blackbirds breaks them out of the trance. When the piercing noise fails, then a nasty peck to some skin or exposed protoform is enough to bring them back to their senses.

“It’s looking for something that can’t be regained,” Jack speaks with a keenness beyond his age and a lilting cadence. A flurry of pictures of the same dark canine by a campfire with multiple individuals and groups sitting by it. It remains unchanged, despite the others’ fashions and vehicles it managed to beckon to it. “Don’t be taken by its ancient sorrow. You won’t escape its grasp.”

Between the space of desert and forest, there’s an old barbwire fence and a seemingly endless dusty dirt road that has never been updated to proper asphalt, despite its existence for over a century and all the grumbles and complaints by humans and Cybertronians.

When it rains, a phantom of a massive stag appears. Dark and regal, it gently trods along the path, always towards the forest, never in the opposite direction. Perched upon its twisted antlers is an owl with multiple wings, spread out and spotted with many painted eyes, a feathered and watchful halo with a cry that echoes in everyone’s ears and audials. It leaves no tracks, just deep puddles with flickering shapes in its vast depths that immediately dry when people look away.

The mechs start to understand that the local humans’ grumblings and complaints are half-hearted, and when it starts to drizzle, everyone stays inside. 

“It’s older than all those that vaguely remember its beginnings,” Jack murmurs to a window full of drawings in the condensation, sleepy in the colder weather as he curls in a heated seat. “Dreaming and wandering, yet always returning to the place that crowned it King.”

Wrecker family headcannons

(ultra Magnus,bulkhead,wheeljack, Smokescreen,and Miko)

-Ultra Magnus and Wheeljack got into a fight because he allowed Miko to sneak into the ship they argued the trip back to the base while bulkhead, Smokescreen, and Miko watched😭

-Everytime Wheeljack and Ultra Magnus got done arguing one of them always have to say "I just think you can be a little bit more responsible" then a whole nother argument started

-Do you ever just get that look from your parents after doing something stupid or misbehaving In public Ultra Magnus definitely gave that look to Miko and Smokescreen. Bulkhead most of the times follows orders and Wheeljack just gets a groan of annoyance and another bickering match with ultra Magnus

-Smokescreen is the family instigator in the wrecker family and to everybody in general he loves drama but he just doesn't do it when it's a really big argument just bickering, when there's a sparring match with his team or when the cons are fighting eachother

-Smokescreen pranks everybody nobody(except ratchet and Optimus) is safe😭

-Smokescreen and Miko would make trinkets to prank the cons with they made a ton and Smokey would hide them so he would get the "back in my day" or "this is unsafe and stupid" speech from ultra Magnus and Ratchet

-One of the trinkets Smokey and Miko made was a metal container with a bunch of wholes of all sizes on the sides and and a small energon crystal with colored smoke on the inside with a handle so when you throw it you have like five or ten seconds to run and smoke gets everywhere

-Bulkhead accidentally tripped on one of them and there was pink,purple,and blue smoke everywhere and it got on his armor and anything else close to it Smokescreen ended up getting those speeches in the end but just to be petty he made some that would actually cause damage to the cons in battle with the Explosion Lords(Wheeljack) help of course

-Remember when you said Smokescreen sleeps like a cat he fell asleep on a tree at the end of a mission and Ultra Magnus had to carry Smokescreen through the groundbridge back to base

-Idk who or why but somebody gave Smokescreen one of those ADHD trap things and Smokescreen was staring at it for a while

-Miko was the first one to think Ultra Magnus and Wheeljack are dating then she asked wheeljack about it and his reaction told her everything she needed to know

-Miko drew a ton of pictures of the wrecker family and the rest of the team and she put them in Ultra Magnus ship he definitely was touched by her drawings but he didn't really show it much

-Smokescreen called Ultra Magnus "Dad" once and nobody let them live that down.When that happened the whole interaction was "you just called captain holt dad" scene

-Smokescreen definitely tried to climb up on ultra Magnus shoulders when he couldn't see something

-Bulkhead and Wheeljack where sparring one time and Miko and Smokescreen were recording because something was bound to go wrong and Ultra Magnus was watching as well then Wheeljack flipped Bulkhead over his shoulder he succeeded but when bulkhead landed on his back Wheeljack didn't let go of him in time and also ended up flying across the room Smokey and Miko with crying laughing and the rest of the team had to make sure wheeljack s alright

-Bulkhead was mad at Smokescreen because he threw the lobeball at his face when playing a game so he told Ultra Magnus Smokescreen had been sneaking out of the base Smokey got grounded afterwords smokey and bulkhead were at war for a couple days and they were at each other's throats but they were forced to make it up

-Smokescreen would tell Bulkhead really concerning facts about bots before them and the things they did before they were killed very brutally and Smokescreen would tell him in detail about it he couldn't sleep for a long while

-the Wrecker family definitely tried to convince Ultra Magnus to speed up when driving the ship but he told them that the fuel was to valuable to waste on something like that

-they all(except Miko)had went into a cave Smokescreen located on another planet and Wheeljack was recording to show Miko and when they found the cave Smokescreen ran right inside and they had to chase after him there was writing that said "turn back now" and Smokescreen thought the the things inside the cave would be a cool way to die😭

Oh my goodness. When you say Ultra Magnus and Wheeljack were arguing I was literally like: "mom and dad are fighting". Smokescreen climbing up Ultra Magnus's shoulders is something I didn't know I need until now but yeah Smokey deserve it.

Alright I got some height hcs for the Sparkling Jasper Trio

Jack is the tallest as he was in his human form. Now he’s much bulkier. He’s not nearly as tall or bulky as his dad, but he’s definitely taller than his older brother’s Smokescreen, Bumblebee, and Hot Rod. Something they all hate. He’s also taller than his mother, the day Elita realized this she was inconsolable.

Miko takes after her mother meaning despite being the second oldest of the three Jasper kids she is the shortest. She hates it! Mention she’s short and she’s going for the kneecaps (something Rodi learned the hard way), And don’t assume her being small means she’s weak, much like her mother she works out and could pick up all her brothers (even Smoke, Bee, and Hot Rod) and her mother. She could (and would) take anyone in a fight. And heaven forbid that girl ever get ahold of the apex armor again, she’ll be unstoppable!

Raf started out the shortest of his siblings, but at some point he had a massive growth spurt. It wasn’t enough for him to out grow Jack but it but him a head taller than Miko (when she realized her baby brother was going to be taller than her she was livid and demanded he shrink back down). He’s also an inch or two taller than Bumblebee, at first Bee refuse to believe it at first and demanded they measured. When it turned out to be true he sulked for a while. His “little” buddy is growing up!

Do you think Optimus is more of a figure or more of an overprotective older brother?

SíI honestly don't see Optimus as a father figure because he is very young and much more inexperienced than other Optimus.

For example tfp Optimus.

I also think Ratchet is the grandfather, but a bitter one who can't wait for his end to come. While he may be grumpy and hate that other bots don't know what he knows he definitely cares about his team and would never wish for someone to go through what he did.

(I feel like they could have done a lot more with their relationship with Lockdown)

Bulkhead is a BIG teddy bear. He is very clumsy and has a lot of strength, but if you get to know him he is the sweetest being you will ever meet.

I'm completely convinced that the entire team (including Sari) agreed to take down the first bot or person who mocks Bulkhead.

Prowl clearly lacks a father figure. He was a boy who did not want to participate in the war, but he was dragged, literally, against his will with Yoketron to teach him how to fight.

Her first reaction was to immediately hate him. And who can blame him? But Yoketron wasn't bothered by that and was quite patient in teaching him and I'm sure at some point Prowl called "dad" to him at least once.

(and then he died, but that's not important)

Bumblebee. Do I really need to write it? You already know the answer.

I kinda got confused while reading this but I think we're talking TFA Optimus-

I haven't watched the show but the way I see him is that he's somewhat like a parent figure to the group- except Ratchet, the docbot is more like his parent figure, he's always gone to him for an advice.

Optimus is stern but his team's wellbeing is his top priority. Most of the times he'll act all stoic and cool but he will be soft and gentle when the situation calls for it. He's patient and tries his best to understand what someone else is going thru to help them. He knows the saying "Primes don't party" but sometimes he can be persuaded to be a little silly with the others. Over all he cares about his little found family a lot and tries his best to manouver their situations so that they come out of it alright.

On a side note I do believe few of the members remind him of sparklings. He definitelly has a more parental relationship with Bee in particular; kid has a knack for getting in trouble and Optimus is tired from constantly trying to get him out and cover it up. Bee is not the one to talk about his own feelings so in the rare moments where Op catches him feeling miserable(most often after he had a nightmare) he'll sit with him and talk.

Optimus may be younger than his other version and lack experience in certain areas but he's still willing to try and make things right and learn in the process. Most importantly he's willing to cross lines if it means he can help someone; mechs first, law second.

While Robert Kirkman and friends have made it clear they have no immediate plans for characters outside of US G1 for now, I'm once again pondering what might be done in the near or far future with certain characters. Admittedly some of this is also because I know there are certain characters Earthspark won't touch for anything, even if they might have some use there, because Mae Catt was told she couldn't make them gay couples.

Anyway, my rambling will start with one character that was screwed over hard in IDW and really deserves more of a chance to shine, especially given how nice his Haslab and third-party figures are. I'll probably do this for other characters later. So let's start with the biggest victim of IDW's writing - Star Saber.

Star Saber is someone who got a REALLY bad look in IDW thanks to his characterization being based on the one from James Roberts's shitty fanfic, to the point Hasbro has essentially done an about-face with him everywhere else. Knowing that Hasbro won't return to the insane religious fundamentalist that he was mutilated into is already a relief. Still, there is something to the idea that if Optimus and presumably Rodimus aren't going to be gone for volumes at a time as the leader of the Autobots, there may be another role Star Saber can fit into in the Energon Universe.

Swordsman/Master of Metallikato -

One of the ideas in Transformers lore that has existed since the Furman run of the 1980s but has surprisingly never been elaborated on, even in IDW, was the idea of Metallikato. Metallikato is supposed to be a mysterious Cybertronian martial art thought lost to the ages, until the Decepticon Bludgeon began bragging to everyone within earshot that he was a master of the art, a combination of bare-handed fighting techniques and swordplay. While on occasion you get a Bot or Con who claims training in it, like Drft for example, it rarely gets elaborated on in any meaningful way.

Maybe it's my love of martial arts movies talking, but the idea of an ancient martial art in the tradition of kung fu movies being used to turn the tide of a civil war has a lot of potential. Star Saber being a master of Metallikato along with others, wondering if he should lend his blade to a partisan cause, only to find that bots like Bludgeon and Drift have made that choice for him. From there there's a ton of ideas that could sprawl from that, both sides wanting to train new Metallikato practitioners, the philosophical issues with lending a blade to a partisan cause, or the idea that a master would want power for themselves.

As an aside, if he were to show up in Earthspark, Saber training one of the Terrans in the mastery of Metallikato seems like it would be a pretty natural fit. Then again, considering what the rejected script with Drift looked like, I doubt they were entertaining such a notion.

The Single Dad in the galaxy -

While Star Wars may have abused the utter hell out of the framework of Lone Wolf and Cub since The Mandalorian became a hit (Bad Batch and Obi-Wan both try to replicate the core idea to much less success) one of the bigger parts of Star Saber's original characterization (which was ignored by IDW like everything else) was that he was essentially a father with an adopted child. A human child, named Jan.

The second episode of Transformers Victory actually has Star Saber doing paperwork to get Jan into a private school.

While, as noted before, the idea of a lone warrior traveling with a kid has been used a lot in recent years, there are definitely a lot of ways this could be taken that would be new to Transformers. The human element (or another alien if the EU goes that route) forcing Star Saber to interact with other people a lot more than he would have to otherwise. Hard to be the straight-laced, serious sword guy when you're worrying about your adopted kid being able to socialize with others and get an education. At the same time, there's definitely a lot of comedy to be milked out of such a setup. You just know the other Bots would groan whenever Saber shows pictures of his son.

The Super Robot Parody/Reconstruction -

Simon Furman, the quintessential Transformers writer guy, has been writing a lot of stuff for the mobile game Transformers: Earth Wars (and he also helped to write the script for the Earthspark game). In it, he has Star Saber as an active character, but as something of a worrywart/blowhard whose speeches about JUSTICE and other platitudes oftentimes rub his Autobot compatriots the wrong way. Then he fights and everyone is quickly reminded why he's the head instructor of the Autobot's War Academy.

As I mentioned in another post, the idea of a super robot parody is not one that Transformers has ever really dealt with despite having super robot elements in past shows, and Bang Brave Bang Bravern showing the potential of such a concept. Granted, I don't see Star Saber being nearly as...affectionate as Bravern can be, but the fact that Transformers hasn't played around with this parody concept outside of some flavor text in a mobile game few want to whale for is something that you think would have potential. Is he genuine about it or is this something he thinks is cool? How do the other Bots and Cons react? How do the humans? And what happens when they underestimate him and the end result has them lose to the weirdo?

Like I said before, I get not wanting to have the straight leader archetype if you're not planning to get rid of Optimus or Rodimus. But with the religious extremist angle having been rejected by just about everybody, there are ways to make Star Saber work in the Energon Universe and other animated material.

I remember being wary about how Optimus Primal was going to be portrayed in ROTB. My main concern was that he was going to be a boring cutout, but I'm happy to say that I was proven wrong. Spoilers and analysis below cut

What makes ROTB Optimus Primal work for me is that he still possesses many of the traits I associate with the munky queen.

It's very easy to see with how he introduces Amaru and explains his history with the tribe that he is a caring and loving. You also see this in how much he tries to prevent killing Airazor, but makes the decision that it has to be done. He definitely doesn't appear happy about the decision either, which makes sense considering how many Maximals are implied to have already perished.

It's fascinating how he's the one having to tell Optimus Prime about allying with humans. Despite the fact that I'm sure the two Optimi have had about the same quality/length of leadership experience, Optimus Primal seems wiser beyond his years than Optimus Prime is. This could be partially explained by Apelinq having to quickly relinquish the title of Maximal leader to Primal in order to get the Transwarp Key away from Unicron and his minions, but I'm sure there's other factors at play.

Despite this gentle nature and wisdom, Optimus Primal is willing to go apeshit on the battlefield if need be (pun intended). That scene in the final fight where he uses the wrecking ball to bash Battletrap's head in is such a perfect moment of seeing Primal unleash his inner ferocity and I love it.

I know many were disappointed that Garry Chalk didn't get the role. While I would've liked that too, I'm equally as happy to see Ron Perlman get a second chance at voicing Optimus Primal because he nailed it this time. It seems to prove my hypothesis that his mid performance as Optimus Primal in POTP was less an actor problem and more a voice direction/writing problem.

TL;DR My munky queen/ape dad was done justice in ROTB and I couldn't be more relieved and happy about it.

Chapter two of DJD x Earthspark

It happened so suddenly.

One minute, Twitch and Hashtag were bringing Thrash back to the barn.

The next, Hashtag was in pieces, her body feeling like it was torn apart.

Twitch barely could spit her sister's energon out of her mouth before big hands, bigger than Megatron's, grabbed at her, pulling her into the arms of-

No.

Not him.

Anyone but him.

"Twitch, sweetspark. I have come to liberate you from being smothered by Autobot ideals. Come along, you have a date with a painting booth."

Out of the corner of her eye, Twitch could see Thrash being dragged into the woods, a hook through his shoulder, the mech responsible for the stabbing agony in her shoulder having a huge grinder in his chest.

She then screamed as an unspeakable agony crept up her body, starting at her feet and working its way up.

She could feel herself grow faint, pain consuming her as she felt herself struggle to vent, struggle to move and fight against-

Twitch vomited, the feeling of her organs all being squeezed at the same time being too much to bear. She felt something wipe at her mouth, a chiding Voice in her ear, telling her off for making the person holding her messy.

She felt herself being handed to another person that smelled like an electrical fire, and gasped in shock as she smelled blood, human blood, on their hands.

She screamed when she felt a chunk of Mo's scalp on her rotors, her long coils tangling in the gaps of her plating.

She squeaked again as she felt someone smack the back of her head hard.

"Stop it."

Twitch whined, tears filling her eyes as she felt Mo's blood seep in between her plating.

She heard a soft pop, her organs suffering from a phantom squeeze yet again, and an undeniable agony gripped her spark, her body lighting with pain. This time, she knew in her spark who met death with a terrible pain in her spark.

"Robby…" She sobbed. "ROBBY! ROB-"

The bot that held her forced a blood covered pill down her throat, ignoring her attempts to bite his hand and spit it out. "Enough, Twitch. Boss bot wants you calm and QUIET while he takes care of the traitors. Now I have to use the sleepy pill. Tarn won't like that."

Twitch felt the darkness pull her down as she felt another bloom of pain.

Dad.

They killed dad.

She wished they would just kill her too.

Tarantulas was just glad he wasn't holding a beaker.

By the speed he dropped his pen and datapad when Nightshade started to seize, it would have shattered. He caught them and moved them away from the blacktop, practically throwing any stools in his way. In the absence of anything soft, he took a risk and held Nightshade's head off the floor, keeping them from cracking their head off the concrete. After a harrowing 40 seconds, Nightshade's voice box glitched and sputtered before he grabbed his chest in pain.

"Tar-Tarantulas? I- I don't feel great."

"I wouldn't think so, Nightshade. Have you had seizures before? Maybe even gaps in your memory or painful headaches? Dizziness, fuzzy or spotty vision, fainting spells? Any bad hits to the head?"

"No, none of that. I have had no issues with flying. Tarantulas, why are you sitting me on your bed?"

"Just a precaution. Seizures can lead to other problems, and you can't fly home after one. Give me your hand, I have to take some data for Ratchet. It's not good, but I am pretty sure Ratchet can help you monitor them."

Nightshade winced as Tarantulas pricked one finger and put a monitor on the other.

He picked up the datapad included with the medic's kit he definitely didn't take off a corpse and watched in shock as Nightshade's spark beat went wild.

"Nightshade, I am going to ask you to lie back slowly and let me move you around a bit. It might not be comfortable with your wings, but I don't like the readings I am seeing and can't get a hold of Ratchet." Tarantulas also couldn't get a hold of Optimus, Dot, Bumblebee, or Megatron, but he wasn't going to tell that to a youngling with early symptoms of spark tension. Their energon levels were already at high pressure, and he hoped that having them lay down slowly could help.

He guided Nightshade's head back, keeping their spine straight, their knees slightly bent, and their head, chest, and feet elevated. Nightshade looked as if they were resisting the urge to squirm, laying on their back with their still new wings were probably uncomfortable.

"You are doing good, Nightshade. Your vitals are looking better already. I am going to go outside, I want you to not move except to comm me if your vitals change."

Tarantulas wasn't even outside calling the immigration office for a city-state he had been planning to use as a plan B for five minutes before he had to rush inside to use a defibrillator on a convulsing Nightshade.

He didn't realize that the representative was still on the line until the poor being was replaced by a higher up, telling him that extraction had been authorized and a team would be there as soon as they could.

Twitch faded in and out of consciousness, just to get pulled into coherency by a cruel voice, and then a screaming one.

"Nickel … why isn't she waking up?"

"She was part of a massive gestalt, you stupid sons of a glitch! Get her to my medbay now, she's going on spark support, maybe even a pacer."

Twitch could feel her legs dangling as she was rushed somewhere, letting out a hiss of pain as she was dropped onto a freezing metal slab.

"How many of the knockout drugs did you give her?" Twitch finally identified the speaker as the white minicon standing above her on a stool.

"One."

"Good, I don't know why I gave you more than that. Just one pill is the maximum dose. Ugh, she's covered in - is that hair? Gross. Once I get this spark pacer installed, she's getting a bath."

Tarn spoke up, "Good, I would like -"

"This awful Rescue Bot red gone? Of course. I will revel in taking a scouring pad to that horrendous paint." Twitch felt someone pinch and tug on her rotors. "Unfortunately, I can't do anything about the yellow. The biolights in her rotors are too finicky."

Twitch whined as she felt a needle slide into her wrist and under her chest plate.

She felt a numb cold spread through her body before Nickel pulled her chest plate over her head, exposing her spark casing. Twitch shivered as even colder restraints bit into her hands, feet, and rotors, a big clawed hand looping rope through her propellers.

Then Nickel started to operate.

Though she couldn't feel the pain, Twitch could feel Nickel cut through the numb protoform with her laser scalpel, pulling her plating apart until she got to her spark. Nickel started to count loudly as she quickly installed a box the size of Twitch's eye into her spark casing and then pulled everything back together, giving her another injection and releasing Twitch's restraints before barking at Tesarus to take her to the tub.

Twitch felt herself being lifted off the table and dropped lightly into a shallow tub, the antiseptic barely covering the bottom of the tub. Nickel filled a bucket with even more antiseptic and grabbed some bristle brushes, grouching loudly while kicking the rest of the DJD out.

Twitch moaned as the stiff, abrasive brush removed all the tiny bits of Mo's remains from the gaps in her plating, including the bits of scalp in her rotors. The antiseptic stung, the bristles chipping off her paint and scratching up the metal underneath, causing tiny cuts to open and be drowned in the solution. She squeaked as she was roughly rolled on her side, the scouring brush replaced with a soft bristled one on her rotors and propeller blades.

Finally, Nickel left her alone long enough to wheel over a wheelchair, Twitch scrambling to sit up and transfer herself before Nickel could scream at her again.

Nickel checked the seal on the waterproof bandage over her new welds before wheeling her over to a hospital bed, lowering it, and forcing her to stand up on shaking legs and lay down.

Nickel then threw a blanket over Twitch before turning off the light and warning her not to move.

Twitch sobbed in the darkness, thankful that Nickel at least would give her this.

Not that she thought the minicon medic would be one for being gentle.

She drifted off to sleep, dreading whatever agony could come in the morning.

Alright, time to out myself as a forever hyperfixated transformers fan to all the new people, here are my overall thoughts and first impressions on Transformers: Earthspark

So here are the things that I liked:

Reformed Megatron. I love the guy. His friendship with Dot is wholesome. He still cares for the decepticons and constantly questions GHOST and their involvement with the Cybertronians. I feel pretty confident that he will stay good throughout the show after ep8 and that brings me joy.

Optimus is dad™. Socially awkward OP is what I live for after all. I’m very interested in his personal conflict, it’s clear that he doesn’t like working with GHOST and I can see why there’s not much of a choice for the autobots. The line that got me even more invested in his story is about how he can’t just “throw a tantrum” unlike Megatron. I hope we get more screen time on that.

Terrans! I like the concept of them being the next step in evolution and the lore behind them provided so far is a good amount. Their connection to the kids is interesting as well, it’s adorable how they are excepted as siblings. (but what is going on with their names man)

Twitch is definitely my favorite terran. Her anxiety and overachiever vibe is 100/10. Also just straight up calling Wheeljack DAD 2 and him going with it was nice.

Millennial crisis Bumblebee is on my top 3. When We Were Young fest is probably the highlight of his year. He is trying his best.

Steve Blum as Starscream. Those two seconds of his iconic laugh are the best thing in those 10 episodes. I also had no clue that he is coming back so I lost my shit then and there.

Decepticons. Soundwave is still superior, I liked Swindle and the twins too. I obviously want more Soundwave and Megatron interactions.

Mention of the 13, please give me some more lore

Honorable mentions: Arcee and Elita-1 but we didn’t get much of them, the agent dude he cracks me up

And now, my one problem with it:

The balance between filler and plot is off, which messes with the pacing too. It didn’t feel engaging, it felt like I had to sit through an hour of content until it got to the part that is actually exiting. We spent few episodes having no progress and then the last two episodes just dumped a bunch of info on us and gave us those cool fighting scenes. At that point I was already half-disconnected anyway, my excitement coming into this new show already faded and it’s only the first half of s1! Each time we saw a glimpse of the autobots or decepticons it was quickly replaced by kids drama. It feels like humans had the most screentime and they weren’t even that interesting, just forced. They would’ve been cool, the family dynamics are nice but the title literally says TRANSFORMERS. It’s like there is a whole other show with GHOST and Cybertronian war that is still going on to some extent while we’re watching kids have their first day in the new school and it’s a shame. I really do hope that the crew just needs more time to figure out the best approach, again, there’s a lot of concepts that can be explored properly. I’ll keep an eye on it for now.

REQUIEMVERSE HALLOWEEN SPECIAL 🎃🎃🎃

As you may know Halloween is the time of the year where everyone dress up as whatever the fuck they want, Haunted houses, candy and more!!!

Because it’s a special occasion for everyone to go fucking wild!!!

The costumes:

Crosshairs- I feel like he would be Hans Solo cause I seems to be the type to pull it off. He’s definitely a Star Wars fan! The reason he decides to go with that costume it’s because he hears that humans get free candy from houses.

Drift- definitely dressed as Samurai Jack. Honestly, did it because there’s no way in hell he’s going to dress up as chewbaca .Can pull of the sword way better then anyone. Came to supervise Crosshairs and Izzy to make sure they don’t cause trouble while trick or treating.

Izzy and Sqweeks - Luke Skywalkwer and R2-D2. No comments at all

Hound- HEAVY FROM TF2. YOU CANNOT TELL ME, HOUND WOULD DO THAT. HE PULLS IT OFF BETTER THAN ANYONE. BRO EVEN BROUGHT HIS OWM GATLING GUN.

Bumblebee- I think it would b funny if he actually dressed up as a Bee just for the shits and giggles.

Tessa- she deserves to slay harder. Goes a the texas chainsaw massacre but with a futuristic look. Or Power from chainsawman

Sunstreaker: a Yassifield Vampire cause he does that.

Cade and Optimus: THEY WOULD DEAD ASS AS GOMEZ AND MORTICIA ADDAMS. You can pry this idea from my cold dead paws. Optimus would stray up up slay in Morticia’s dress better than anyone. And Cade just did it, because he perfectly embodies the Gomez’s chaotic loving energy.

Viviane- Lara Croft, idk I heard that Viv’s actor played some Lara Croft stuff correct if I’m wrong

Hot rod- Chewbacca, fucker lost a bet with Crosshairs. Now he’s paying the price but hey Izzy and Sqweeks are having a good time.

Cogman: Fucking Alfred I’m sorry he’s just like that.

Stuff that they do:

Cade absolutely planned to create the most incredible Halloween event in the town. So he’s been preparing it for the next months after March. By creating two main attractions the Haunted Barn and the Corn Maza.

The haunted barn is where the older teens and Adults go to get the most brutal scares of their lives and have a good time.

The Corn maze is for children to play and there’s occasional games and at the end of the maze they get treated for lots of candy and toys.

The house is just where trick or treaters go to get candy from either Cade or Opt.

Plus the Autobots can participate from either attraction. Especially the baby Dinobots who loves playing with the young humans.

To say the least it was a success!! Everyone had a great time and bonding.

Crosshairs had a blast of scaring the shit out of people in the Haunted barn. While Drift guided lost children from the Corn maze.

Izzy gets to enjoy trick or treating with Hot rod and the others.

They’re was a Halloween prank war and almost destroyed someone’s property.

Everyone made their own Pumpkin Carvings. Cogman’s is the most detailed and elegant, Optimus’s looks pretty decent, Cade’s is neat, Hound’s the messiest, Drift is the second most elegant, Izzy’s decent, Sqweeks the same, Bee is the most cartoony and Tessa’s is like her dads.

Cogman has created the most sweetest energon goodies of this time of year. They were battles over the snacks.

They go trick or treating and gotten lots of candy and snacks.

At the end of the night clean up duty has been made.

To say the least it has been a very successful Halloween event.

Transformers G1 Mic Meets the Autobots (she went to see her dad and brother after school, and wondered if they needed any help,

and so our adventure begins Mic.

“Hey Ugly!” Mic shouted as she threw a piece of metal at a human sized robot’s head, “wha-OUCH!!” It yelled in pain. She ran over to a different area and hid from the other giant robots. She glanced to the taller bots seeing them do something to the oil. It looked like they were putting it in a box container thing and turning it into a glowing substance of some kind. They mentioned something about having not enough energy and needing to suck the planet dry.

I just have to do something to stop them before they get all the oil.

“ITS THE AUTOBOTS!!” The plane bot yelled Mic looked up and saw more robots but they had blue eyes and wearing a different symbol.

Ok my day just got out-of-this-World better!

She watched the fight between the two bot groups and they were fierce but for Mic this definitely beats doing homework, and she didn’t feel scared at all. She felt excitement.

If this is a dream, I better not wake up or I swear-!

The deceptions flew up, but the Bucket-head leader fired it’s gun at the bottom of the plant and it stated falling apart. In seconds it snapped in half, Mic slipped on the metal floor and fell in the water. She swam back up to the surface and gasped for air, it was a struggle to keep her head above water but kept her head up high and looked around, seeing metal bars & other parts of the destroyed oil rigs. Around her it started to get warmer she looked over and saw a fire spreading around the building. Ok, NOT COOL ANYMORE!

“DAD! SPIKE!” Mic She sees one of the giant beings coming towards her but can’t tell which one, and tried to get out of the rubble and keep her head up for air. A piece of metal falls above her, Mic saw the object incoming. She grabbed to one of the bars and closed her eyes waiting for a very hard hit on the head But it never came.

“Are you Alright!”

Mic opened her eyes, looking up at a giant blue and red robot trying to lift up the metal pipes that trapped her. She had stars in her eyes amazed, but the area around her started to feel like the inside of an oven and looked back at the fire.

“THE FIRE ITS GETTING CLOSER!” The robot looked back and tried to remove the metal but struggled

“I can’t lift it! Too heavy!”

Mic grabbed a metal pipe of the building and started to help lift it with the robot, but her hands slipped. She ducked in the water and came up immediately. The robot looked at her concerned still struggling to hold the metal of the buildings antenna.

“Don’t worry I’m fine, my hand just slipped.”

“Grab onto me, and keep your head above water.”

Mic swam towards the red and blue bot and grabbed onto his arm through a hole in the rubble. The bot continued to lift the antenna and turned to his friend “TrailBreaker!” Another bot helping others out of the water answered “Here Prime!”

“Activate your force shield and take a shot at that fire!”

A second robot walked towards trailbreaker blinking lights on the sides of their head “I’ll give him a hand!” They jumped into the air and used their tools to put out the fire, trailbreaker using his sheild to stop the fire from getting closer and the other using a canon that shot out a cloud of fire extinguisher putting out the flames.

“Almost have it!”

Mic saw him lift up the antenna and quickly swam over to him, grabbed his shoulder, and moved onto the robots back. “There!” He tossed the antenna to the side, “Catch!” Another robots voice yelled over, Mic looked over to see a bot with a grapple hook and swung it towards the red and blue bot. He caught it and the bot pulled him over to where everyone else is.

Once they were on the flooring of the destroyed oil rigs Mic got off the robots back and looked at the bot in front of her. “Who are you?”

“My name is Optimus Prime young one.” Mic smiled “Thank you Optimus.” “MIC!” She turned around to get tackled-hugged by her father and brother she chuckled, “I’m never letting you out of my sight again.” Spike said “Oh well see about that.” She giggled and they separated from the hug.

Sparkplug looked up at Optimus and thanked him for saving Mic and their lives, Optimus nodded then spike asked who they were. “We’re Autobots, were from Cybertron.” Optimus replied pointing up at the sky. “A planet far from earth.” He then stood up tall and appeared to be the tallest one out of the rest of the bots.

“Another planet! That’s awesome!” Spike said amazed “THATS SPACE-TASTIC!!!” Mic said stimming in excitement she stopped and blushed a little embarrassed. Optimus looked like he smiled (she couldn’t tell because of his mask), then she asked about the other bots who were stealing the oil, Optimus explained that they were Deceptions and that they had to stop them from destroying our world.

“Is there anything we can do to help!” Mic asked Optimus kneeled down the the three humans “I’m sorry young one, but but we are the only ones who can stop the deceptions.”

“But my kids Mic, Spike, and I know more about earth than you do.” Sparkplug said pointing at the prime. Optimus thought about it for a moment then agreed “Maybe you can help us.” He turned towards the others and they nodded. “Follow us and we’ll lead you to the base. Autobots transform.” In a flash they transformed into vehicles, as Sparkplug and Spike ran to there car Mic ran up to Optimus opened his door and hopped in “Well what are we waiting for LETS-!” “Mic!” Spike yelled.

Mic was about to apologize to Optimus, but he spoke up first, “It’s alright young one no harm done, Sparkplug I don’t mind if I give her a ‘lift’? But if you would like her to travel with you or with me that’s your call.” Sparkplug looked at spike then at Mic, he thought for a second then said it was alright but she had to stay in the passenger seat. Mic giggled and buckled the seatbelt.

Firstly, LASERBEAK IS FFFR WHOLESOME MUCH LOVE 💖💖

I often scheme/write with a friend in discord, and we gave Soundwave quite a bit of sad, because we love some sad moments followed by happy ones. Here are some of our hcs/ideas:

1. Vv protective of his family

Oh you know where this is going. Soundwave likely isn’t too close to very many people- however, it’s a different story with his family. He’s extremely close to them, and fiercely protective. If one of them is hurt- all hell is bound to break loose. He’ll likely rush the injured bby to KO, then sit there and watch him work, ask what he can do to help. If he’s asked to leave/needs to leave for work, he may just stand outside and refuse to move any further.. or he’ll actively seek revenge. Soundwave could probably become blinded by his anger- and so, may not attack as he usually would. A lack of forethought could easily lead to his injury.

1.5. Panic (kind of ties into 2)

If something happens to where Soundwave is separated from his minicons, he may suffer from some pretty severe worry over them. My friend and I have this wholesome joke where Ravage, Laserbeak, Buzzsaw, etc. act as therapy ‘cons. Maybe they are therapy ‘cons and they help other stressed out mecha. But back on the sadge- if he’s ever taken prisoner (like in TFP with the autobots), he may not stop moving and trying to break free (thus causing something like rope burn, or worse), or frantically calling out for his minicons. If for whatever reason they’re hurt and also trapped- or separated and trapped- that could very well break him. The sheer act of crying could be enough to get his freedom as well- I mean, if you’re Optimus, and this stone cold guy who doesn’t change his expression when you punch him just starts CRYING- yeah, could be interesting.

2. Nightmares

This relates more to the storyline I have with my friend, but maybe you can adjust it to your universe as well. For us, we have a crossover of IDW/TFP, a whole universe crash blah blah blah— anyways, Soundwave in TFP lost his minicons in the war (he does reunite with them after the universe crash though) and so, he has been plagued by nightmares of the losses. Soundwave often refuses to sleep, working to an extremely unhealthy extent. When he does finally rest, he find a protected space- somewhere with plenty of exits and cameras. He stands at one of the stations and just.. sleeps upright. He claims it’s safer that way, after all, if an attacker approaches, one of the security cameras will notify him— and he’ll be able to react quickly, not having to get up from a laying position. This, of course, results in little physical rest, and definitely has some negative health impacts.

3. There are two pictures of Ravage and Soundwave that are really sad but I don’t know how to attach them ooAAA

Also I really dislike tarn why u do that in idw sobs you were cool until rav rav came into play

EOGNEIBWDIWBFNOEGNEJDBWIBF Okay, so basically...you and your friend are freakin' geniuses... And you've gotten me addicted to drawing Soundwave with deep emotions, so I just accidentally made a few comics...

I don't know why but I just love the idea that he just initiates his inner child mode when one of his babies is hurt and just feels so helpless....

This one got kinda sloppy, but basically beserk dad mode where multiple Autobots have to hold him back even though he's fully restrained, because the sheer dad rage is too strong. And angry signing.

AND THIS was just a hilarious mental image that I had to visualize.

I didn't draw anything for the rest of it, but I still agree!!! I also stuck to just Laserbeak during these comics, but it totally extends to Ravage and the twins when he gets them in our crazy Wildbreak AU... EXCELLENT SADGE, thank you!!!

Is alpha trion still gonna be a mentor figure to Optimus/Elita/Magnus or will he have a different role?

Elita is offworld, so not her! Magnus has no relationship with Alpha Trion that I can speak of.

Trion and Prime do have a relationship, but I wouldn't call it a traditional mentor-mentee relationship bc Trion, after the end of the Second Quintesson War and what he believes is the loss of all his friends, becomes something of an aloof recluse mourning and living among walls of books and texts, and the only people he really keeps in contact with are those who need his help preserving/restoring/digitizing texts and/or people he wants to collect samples from for the archive (as humanity had lost a LOT of old texts during the war, which was a second Library of Alexandria situation, and he wants to make sure that doesn't ever happen again. He is something of the world's Pagemaster).

He knew Prime through Prime's college professor dad, who he had requested specific Kurdish texts from to preserve and they did strike up a cordial (for Trion) relationship, and when he found out Prime was doing the 'silly' thing of trying to set up a public library in the Dead end of all places, he was intrigued and decided to help the wide-eyed, naive constable out by sending over copies of books from his archive to fill the shelves (as he knows the initiative, as well as others in the area, had sapped a lot of Prime's funds already, and books, especially from different classes, can get very pricey unless they're donated!).

So that's how Prime and Alpha Trion met! When Prime was facedown on the reception desk trying to calculate how much he was going to need to fill these shelves for the official opening and Trion just pulls up with two containers like boy, come out here and get your damn Kinokunya shipment.

Trion does take Prime after he was rescued from imprisonment under Sentinel Prime and offered his estate to the Autobots after they split from the Decepticons as their HQ (he's still debating whether he regrets this some days, god damn kids and their pranks, but sitting down to eat meals with them and laughing with them like he did with the original Primes honestly makes him feel less alone). He's definitely less 'noble' minded than Prime is (while he admires Prime's compassion, he doesn't sugarcoat how much it can be used as a weapon against the man), and while good and kind in essence, can get very pragmatic when faced with conflict. If you know the whole thing with Batman being like "no guns" and Alfred Pennyworth being like "First moron to try me gets a buckshot of lead" in Wayne Manor, then you get the gist of how their relationship is.

My Prime AU:

Soundwave goes with Megatron(us) and Orion during the time that Orion would have been given the matrix, but it is instead given to Soundwave - not by the council that wanted it to go to Orion, but a choice made by past Primes themselves. Can't argue with them.

Orion still becomes Optimus Prime, though, he's just a false Prime made to "keep the people at ease" though that fails when the war begins. Nothing really changes on the Autobot side, they still fully believe Optimus is the real thing and that the Decepticons are evil bastards that need to be wiped out.

The Decepticons would be very different. More organized, less dysfunctional but everyone is still fucking crazy, running around and threatening each other and Shockwave still does unethical things (he just has more supervision and hates it).

Half the rooms are kid proofed because of SW's deployers, the number of which are doubled by influence from the Matrix (bc the matrix causing Primes to be sterile does not vibe with me, I'd rather imagine that it actually makes Primes more inclined to want or to be around little ones esp during a war that halves the population of their species and all that) and there are less physical altercations between soldiers.

Megs and Screamer still fight daily, but it's kept to a minimum and rarely gets physical unless Starscream takes things too far, and by then either Shockwave or Soundwave has intervened and separated them. Oh, yeah, and Shockwave never gets left behind. Soundwave refuses to leave him there with the chance of him still being alive, and who's gonna fight an angry Prime?

Shockwave is head scientist, as always, but he never makes Predaking until after the war, when he offers the program to SW as a way to help repopulate Cybertron.

Megatron and Starscream are the Second and Third n command, with Soundwave being the leader of the army. He never goes by a new name, though he is offered one. He's bigger, heavier, can swing a sword, hammer or axe as fast and as much as he pleases; he's still sw though, stealthy spymaster of the Nemesis.

I imagine the most his personality changes is that he's more confident, and the Matrix fixes his voice so he can lead. He probably also gets the humans on their side instead of them helping the Autobots (bc, yknow, no one listens to insane bird and shark man, but the soft spoken and calming dude who's buff and can lift your house and is also a single dad and makes sure you get home before curfew?

Yeah, you'd listen to him too.

Autobot Au:

Soundwave gets badly injured and is found by the Autobots, who slowly tame this feral bastard man until he's too attached to leave. Nothing changes for him, really, other than where he lives because he still has all his health problems, but he sees much earlier how little Megatron cared for him, and is forced to admit how miserable he was on the Nemesis.

God, this Au definitely would have him extremely depressed, but actively trying to be better, now that he knows better. Personality wise, he just goes back to being a little bit shy and nervous, flinching away whenever someone raises their voice or hand at him or falling back on old instincts to defend himself from an attack that never comes.

He also has to come face to face with his own problems, like his telepathy slowly driving him insane (I imagine having telepathic bonds relieves this pressure, but being so isolated he doesn't have anyone he can do that with), his weaker frame slowly giving out on him, etc.

I like to imagine he, Bumblebee and Arcee sass people together once he's comfortable among them, though, and they manage to convince Knockout and others to convert (and he helps Arcee murder Arachnid)
