"Stan favors Mabel and Ford Dipper" WRONG!!!

#We see them interact less due to their personalities.#Mabel is attracted to Stan much quicker #due to her nature of getting on other's good sides and wanting to be friends #as well as outgoing.#While Dipper was still unsure about his feelings of this for all intents and purposes stranger #Mabel would have squeezed her way into his life already. Dipper is not good with people #and insecure #so he takes Stan's jabs seriously just like he does with Mabel. Mabel and Stan have a love language #that include a few insults that have no real feelings in it.#He wouldn't catch on and participate or (depending on when) tell him straight up he doesn't like it.#Dipper is in it for the mysteries and locks himself up while focusing on it. It's on his mind the entire show.#Ford wasn't meant to talk to the kids. He was even avoiding Dipper until an accident happened and he got caught up in the game of ddmd.#Not to mention that the episodes almost always contribute to the story #even filler ones. They may not progress the plot but they will reveal sides of characters or show them growing or changing.#Ford was in it so little that they needed to squeeze the most out of the time which led to little Mabel and him filler.#He didn't have any problems with Mabel unlike how Dipper had some problems with Stan so that wasn't an issue to address #they love each other ur honor #gravity falls #my ramblings

honestly the main reason that my bill flatland fic is so focused on the satire aspects of the original novella is because that's the most fascinating part of the book to me. the dimensional stuff that doesn't tie into the social aspects are conceptually interesting but honestly mostly whatever to me, i don't really care about it from a mathematics standpoint and i'm not super interested in alien biology and stuff in stories. i'm here for the horrible little victorians and how absolutely stifling their terrible world is

#also frankly i think that's the horror of the dimension and-- from a gravity falls perspective-- THAT's what would have upset bill #like if the second dimension had been the second dimension withot the bigotry and supression of art maybe it would have been a little bland #but 'a little bland' is one cut and bill is someone who canonically suffered a thousand #he's the type who would have always grown frustrated by the limits of his dimension but it would have take longer and been less explosive #and less angry and pointed and more of an 'i need to see what else is out there'#if said limits weren't so horribly and purposefully curated by a eugenics-loving color-supressing god-king upperclass #idk i think about it like... when we think about our world and the things that frustrate us #we don't usually go 'the fact we can't see the fourth dimension!' or start seriously complaining about our evolutionary biology #i think very few people would answer those sorts of things when asked how they would change the world they live in #it's /societal/ and /personal/ stuff y'know. that's what wears us down

Hey guys! I'm still in the throes of working on the next chapter, which will be done before the end of the month (if all goes according to plan).

I just wanted to take a moment to issue an important PSA about the next chapter:

If you are behind on CTB for any reason or have not read it yet, now is the best time to get caught up.

That is not a threat, but I guarantee you won't regret it.

If you have followed me or this story for any period of time, you know that I have never said anything like that before, which goes to show how serious I am. You will want to read chapter 21 the moment it is published. I promise.

Of course, you do not ""really"" have to get caught up now but I highly recommend it as this is going to be The Chapter, and there is no way I am going to be able to keep the spoilers for this story in check after that point. You will be spoiled.

So if you can and are able, I highly recommend getting caught up. You can go ahead and stop reading CTB again once chapter 21 is out and you know what's up. But if you want to keep spoilers to a minimum, please go ahead and give CTB a read.
