I remember discussing Tintin casting choices with a friend from Germany and remarked how it was odd he often has an English accent in adaptations rather than a Belgian one, and my friend just replied "that's because Tintin gives incredibly strong English boy energy (derogatory)"
Here in the UK there's a lot of weird classism tied into accents. Today accent diversity and representation in broadcasting is actively pursued but in Tintin's time there certainly was a preferred accent to have.
imagine this exchange happens between pages 28-29 in The Crab with the Golden Claws

i love your riddle design so much, he's so pointy and british. so gracious. do you think he would enjoy a brazilian goiabada
thank you! ❤️🖤❤️ it's just. important to me on a level I can't explain that Riddle have an extremely pointy nose that he can stick into everyone else's business.
also goiabada is sweet and fruity and red, I think he would like it very much indeed!
not me stealth-editing because I forgot his antenna whoops

Zosan as the couple who can’t take anything romantic seriously.
Zoro tries flirting and being smooth, mimicking the shit he sees sanji doing and sanji actually fucking loses it. He laughs so hard he falls to his knees and sobs.
Zoros embarrassed as shit but he also starts laughing because of how absurd what he said was.
They sit in the kitchen laughing so hard it gets difficult to breathe, chopper actually gets worried by how red they’re turning.
When finally they come down from the laughters, sanji mimicks Zoro and they start all over again

honestly shoutout to Moira Quirk. That woman acted the shit out of the locked tomb series and I really really hope she’s narrating Alecto too. Do I remember any character names?! NO! Would I recognise Magnus’ sweet Welsh accent from three rooms away? INSTANTLY!

Wait headcannon!
Both Red and Chloe speak very proper English when in an argument.
Because Red grew up speaking in riddles, and Spanish as her first languages (yes this is because of Kylie speaking Spanish) so English was a third language to her growing up. Even though she quickly learned the slang to better fit in with native speakers, she doesn’t always get it right, and when she’s stressed she’s called back to the most proper way to speak because that’s the version she learned under the worst pressure.
And chloe’s first language is French, of course, but she had to learn many languages as princess so that she could communicate with many different royals. And her lessons were in proper grammar, because she is a royal speaking to other royals, and they all speak proper language. And she’s also just a nerd who wants to be The Best, so she knows the history of where English words come from and her enunciation is on point.
So they’re both having high emotions, and English is their only common language, (as they found out the hard way) and they both just sound like the most proper and pompous assholes ever when they argue with each other.
And this isn’t just with each other, this translates to arguments with other English speakers in their age group. You’re trying to tease Red about Wonderland customs but you accidentally got under her skin for real, and she sounds like Henry Viii. Someone is trying to duel with Chloe but she brandishes her sword and starts talking like Shakespeare. Which just bewilders everyone!

💌Eddie Dear💌 Headcanon
(feat. ⭐️Sally⭐️!!)
So this thought has been stuck in my head for at least a month, soooooooo….
As I was learning French, my teacher would always ensure us that we didn’t need a “French” accent to speak the language, so long as we pronounce the words correctly we’d be fine! He would then demonstrate by putting on a heavy-ass country accent and talked a bit in French (it was hilarious)
This knowledge came back to me a while ago (more like it simply resurfaced) and I immediately thought of our country puppet man Eddie!!
I feel like he’d be fluent in French and speaks it in a veryveryvery heavy accent. But he doesn’t speak it often in the neighborhood since not many other neighbors speak it, so whenever he hears Sally say one of the very few French phrase she knows (feel like she only knows well known phrases like “enchanté” and “je ne said quoi” to sound fancy~) Eddie gets all excited and starts talking to her in French while Sally just stands there not understanding a word being said. But she unintentionally keeps the conversation going by nodding her head/saying “mmm” or “hmmm!” at the right times, thus getting stuck in a loop of one-sided french conversations that she doesn’t understand :)
This is the little comic(?)thing I did to go along with this⤵️
EDIT: I added alt text in case my handwriting is hard to read!!
