i think it's extremely fun to pair rook and solas together in any regard, no matter if he previously was being romanced because as clear narrative foils, having an enemies to lovers (and in tandem, bitch4bitch, hater x hater) dynamic feeds into that delicious 'whenever I see you I see myself and I hate that' and 'you are everything I hate about myself' soup.
I once saw a post with a collection of quotes that had this certain vibe, in the 'you and I are the same' (negative) way. if i had a quote to represent them it would be:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
so shipping them feels very complex and interesting to think about, because, like in that one dialogue
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(first of all, like c'mon) furthermore it's the cycle. rook is to solas what solas was to elgar'nan, there are several times in the game, especially the end, where they can see each other in each other. even if you dont see it in a shipping lenses (which you dont have to!) this is a juicy story.
moreover, at the end of the game if rook outwits solas by giving him the fake ritual dagger, solas not only recognizes that he was out played by 'wits alone' he also says that he's met his match. this mimics the several stories of fen'harel who uses his wits, wisdom etc to get out of a situation
Tumblr media
(example: the story of fen'harel, andruil and anaris, solas goading them both into fighting each other so he could get out paralleling solas making rook fight the gods and in addition a thousand other enemies in order to get himself enough time to get out of the fade prison without rook getting ahead of it)
the betrayal too, i don't have much to say that hasn't been said already about the prison switcheroo, (evokes solas's betrayal of felassan yada yada) other then it's really tasty.

Every time I see the 'and now you don't need to worry'/'you really did that for me' moment, I'm struck by the fact that this isn't a private moment between the two of them. Even the post lawsuit hug/'I forgive you [...] just don't do it again' moment happens in front of other people but no one else is shown listening in. But this time Hen and Chim and Bobby are right there, they're part of the conversation (somewhat, anyway), they can hear every word and see the way Eddie reacts to it and hear the way he says 'you really did that for me?' and he turns around to look at them before turning back to Buck.
There's just something about the fact it feels like one of the emotionally heavy one-on-one conversations they've had before, but this time other people are seeing it, are hearing it.

im very curious when you said "yes, they can bring back the dead, but they’re VERY BAD AT IT. In fact, that’s not what they’re supposed to be doing with their powers in the first place!" then what were necromancers supposed to do in the first place??
WELL WELL WELL….I’m delighted you asked!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
this is an aspect of the world I’ve got a lot planned out for but haven’t actually drawn much yet! a necromancer’s primary skill is their ability to see and interact with ghosts. necromancy agencies are tasked with policing spirits and keeping the dead in line, because more often than not they step out of it.
Tumblr media
this world is very haunted! in fact, it’s so haunted people have made an industry out of appeasing the dead. the necromancers are only one of them. they’re supposed to be like…spirit police?? ghostbusters?? something like that!
that’s all I’ll say for now, ty for the ask!!

A fan asks Eddie how he wooed Steve into dating him but before he can answer, Steve cuts in like, “One time I asked Eddie if he wanted to hold my hand and he cried. We weren’t even dating.”
Eddie:
Eddie, sputtering: You - you try waking up from what you thought was most certain death in a hospital and have a literal angel ask if he can hold your hand. It messes you up.
Eddie, gesturing to all of Steve: Look at him. Look at Steve now. He looks this good on a regular day now.
Eddie: Now imagine being twenty, high as fuck on painkillers and the governor publicly apologizing to you, and seeing *gestures to Steve again* him at nineteen during an irregular time in our lives. You’d cry too.
Eddie: Actually, I can just show you what I was dealing with
Steve: Eddie, that picture’s awful. Don’t show-
*Cuts to the worst picture that has ever been taken of either of them.
It’s a picture that Robin took on a disposable camera of Eddie in his hospital bed looking like death slightly warmed over but awake and smiling. Steve is standing next to the bed, shirtless with all his bruises and bites on display because he tore two stitches and was too stubborn to leave the room so a nurse was fixing them there.
Steve’s got a look on his face like he’s trying not to show pain and Eddie is giving the camera devil horns. They are holding hands.*

do you ever think about how carlos described lewis as “one of the best, if not the best in the history of f1” when he could’ve been bitter, angry, spiteful even with the way all the negotiations were (sneakily) taking place. and that sums up what type of driver and person he is.

And the way Style keeps trying to coax Fadel away from his current life without giving himself away? Why don't you find a new job that lets you love? You don't have to live someone else's life. And so on. The way he tells Kant he's getting kinda attached to Fadel (at least in the subs), but when he's talking to Fadel like this, you know it's more. Because he's trying to steer Fadel to a life where they can be together. No obstacles. No danger.
But he can't say 'please stop killing people because I'm worried about you and I want to be with you' and he can't warn Fadel about the police because, as open as he's being emotionally, now, he's still scared and conflicted
And then, when Fadel tries to reassure him, because he's working toward a life free of danger where they can be together, it doesn't help because Style still knows what Fadel doesn't (again), and I love that play between the one who knows being the one who feels off-kilter, and the one in the dark—though he thinks he isn't—being the one who feels like he's on solid ground
And then it's flipped again at the end! He's so happy to finally see Fadel again, and I don't think he thinks they're home free or anything, but he is happy and he looks relieved. But then Fadel is told Style and Kant are the snitches and now he's one step ahead. He's the one who knows the thing keeping them apart. And it reminds me of that tit for tat they had in their early encounters, where they were always one-upping each other, but now the stakes are higher and the angst is angsting and it's so gooooooood and ugh!!!!
Anyway, this is a mess, and I'm honestly not sure where I intended to go with it, but I'm just really enjoying the writing and the acting and everything in this show

Unfortunately they did not get burgers for Hank, but Connor at least learned a valuable lesson. I guess Nines suffers from Amelia Bedelia Syndrome.

Hi guys, this is actually a comic I drew and basically finished 11 months ago. And it’s been just about then since I’ve last really opened my iPad and did any drawing. There’s a ton of half-completed works on there and they’re pretty cute, so I’ll try to post them as I get the motivation. My therapist says posting to this blog will probably improve my mental health and he’s right but >:3c
So yeah! Let’s see what I can toss out this year, wooo!!

au where gus is a little too stupid and repressed so when shawn finally does take the chance and tells him he loves him, well gus has to let him down (gently of course) because he’s straight. (“you know if i was then you’d–” “please don’t finish that sentence”). and it hurts gus to see shawn so broken in front of him and to see how much it affects him and how hard it is for him to even hide it, and if gus could change anything in the world this would be it because he’d do anything to make shawn happy. but that’s not how life works, is it?
and i think it takes a long time, the better part of a year, for him to figure everything out. but eventually he does, because it’s all he thinks about. why did it hurt so much to tell shawn no? why did it feel so wrong to say those words? why does it feel like there’s something missing when he already knows that what’s missing is something he doesn’t want? (he doesn’t? right?). and i think it’s gradual, something he keeps thinking about and questioning in the back of his mind for a long time, and idk how he gets there, maybe there’s an ‘oh’ moment when he looks at shawn one day, maybe he wakes up and everything just clicks, or maybe it’s even subtler than that. but eventually gus realizes that he’s gay and in love with shawn (and has been for a lot longer than he’d like to admit).
he sits with it for a while before he decides to say anything because he has to make sure, really sure, because this isn’t something he can screw up. but eventually he’s confident enough to want to tell shawn, and when he finally decides to do it, he’s struck with the realization that he might be too late. he might’ve missed his chance. shawn told him he loved him almost a year ago and gus doesn’t know just how far his feelings went, so what if shawn was over him by now. he’s acted like it after the first few weeks, so what if gus is too late?
but then i think gus would suck it up and tell him anyway because if there was even the slightest of a chance that shawn still loved him, then gus would take that chance over the millions of ways it could go wrong. if shawn could be brave and do it then so could he.
i think he plans a speech, spends too much time going over all the words and apologies and explanations, making sure he has it all memorized, but when shawn answers the door, all the words in the world other than four disappear. when shawn looks at him as gus shoves his way out of the rain and into his apartment, as his breath shakes and startles and stops at all the what ifs, the only words he can find are “am i too late?”
shawn frowns and looks around a little, because, “i don’t think so, it’s only 8:30. wh–” and then gus shakes his head and grips his sleeve so tight his fingers hurt and his voice breaks a little as he says “no, shawn, am i too late?”
shawn blinks, and gus is still looking at him, eyes big and wide and wet, and then shawn softens as he realizes what gus is asking. he swallows over the lump in his throat and all it takes is a little shake of his head for gus to take the leap and kiss him.

Ok so a lot of people have Steven loving the idea of meeting the Avengers and Marc like ‘hell nah’ but hear me out.
Steven as a Brit perfectly happy being away from the mess that’s the Avengers and American superheroes. Marc comes along and sure, he’s chill with that even when they becomes Moon Knight again because it’s an Egyptian based thing. And it wasn’t exactly his choice.
One day (after they’ve negotiated a new deal with Khonshu and are MK again) the Avengers come knocking. Marc is wary ofc with his general history and no doubt not entirely trusting their vibes.
Steven however is entirely *done.*
It was bad enough just dealing with their own things, the last thing he wants is to be dragged off to the US to join whatever rubbish these guys keep getting into. He’s happy in London. Yeah these guys are cool from a distance but he does *not* want to get involved.
It’s a very validating experience for Marc to have Steven take front and tell off whoever had the audacity to come knocking at 3am for their complete disregard of privacy and firmly shut the door with a ‘come back at a more reasonable hour, yeah? We’ll talk then.’
“I thought you’re *Moon Knight.* Don’t you work at night?”
“It’s the middle of summer. Sunrise is literally in half an hour and some of us actually need a job to make money.”
Bonus points if Layla’s there too holding back laughter at the complete shock on said superhero/agent’s face.
They do actually want to make friends with this Moon Knight guy or at least get to know him better since he did save a bunch of people, so they back off. But you best bet Steven’s grumbling the whole time when Marc takes point and reluctantly agrees to help out.
(I don’t think Marc particularly enjoys going back to the US purely based on trauma associations. He’ll do it, even enjoy it. But flashbacks and triggers lurk a little closer. Though with Steven now it might be a bit better. Also it probably depends on where he’s visiting state wise because accents and general architectural similarities n stuff vary.
Also also because in Ep3 we find out he and Layla had a place in London st least for a while. ‘I found him living 20 minutes from our old place.’)

How did your Phoenix react to the Phantom's message?
Tumblr media
they had… mixed emotions, to say the least. here’s a letter from someone they’re sure outclasses them in every way (based on the sheer impossibility of this getting set up) and the Phantom tells them that they made a choice, one that extends to Phoenix: to live or to die.
imagine being the most skilled individual in your field and finding out that before you, there was someone else, someone who was just like you. someone better, even. and then, for some reason, they quit. Agent Phoenix is a born and bred puzzle solver; they’re not one to balk at a mystery. but it is a little ominous.

SHE KNEW HER PHONE wasn't exactly going to work in a new reality, but that wouldn't stop her from cursing under her breath about it. a map would have been FANTASTIC at that moment, because the unfamiliar landscape was a dense and twisted layout that hope couldn't begin to decipher. she had been raised in luxury even if she had spurned it... wilderness tactics were still new to her.
that and the earth shaking thuds of something nearby moving led to prickles of anxiety up her spine. she hoped jones was okay... he had to be s o m e w h e r e nearby, but rifts had a way of not entirely working as one willed. so teeth clenched, and body was lowered, attempting to move with silent stealth across the uneven terrain. luckily, she was rather skilled, but the environment was new enough to test her talents.
dual pickaxes were clutched in vice like grips, glad her gloves shielded her from what would definitely become blisters. her gun was holstered - her ammo f a r too limited to risk using on the unknown. not to mention the last thing she wanted to do was come to a foreign reality guns blazing. not the best way to make friends...
as she slunk around a large plant of some sort, she'd find herself face to face with a kid; someone clearly a few years her junior. though not drastically. stormy hues blinked in alarm before she awkwardly attempted a wave while holding one of the pickaxes.
"...hey, uh. is whatever is out there stomping a bad thing?" voice was a cutting whisper between them, wondering if she was right to be cautious or if she was hunkering away from some gentle giant.

dean being older than sam and having experience with an apple pie life “pre-hunting” is so incredibly fundamental to their characters and the way they function (especially in the early seasons) it’s insane.
dean knowing how their family used to be before losing mary and spending his whole life trying to desperately piece it back together because it’s the only good he’s ever had and he romanticizes it even though he knows it wasn't perfect because it’s so good compared to what they have now vs sam knowing nothing but hunting and the family fractured by grief and wanting that same normal life by escaping because he can’t picture his family ever being like that.
like dean trying desperately to stay the loyal soldier to his father and look after sammy and do everything that’s needed of him for his family because he saw how it crumbled and how mary’s death tore them apart vs sam feeling constantly slighted his entire life because he’s never seen his family be a proper family that treats him the way he deserves. he has no history of happy family so he lashes out because he doesn’t feel there’s anything there to preserve. he has no hang ups on telling john how it is because he has no twisted up loyalty to a now broken and dysfunctional family.
it also explains so well how they view hunting and getting out. like sam hates it and wants out so bad because he views hunting as the source of all his family's problems and if they had never started hunting they wouldn't be "like that". he wants out because he believes the only way to be happy and have a good life is to not be a hunter. meanwhile dean knows that their family wasn't perfect before losing mary and starting to hunt ("their marriage wasn't perfect until after she died" and that entire scene show that really well). he knows that really there are problems everywhere and that family is complicated and that the issue lies more with their family than with hunting. he doesn't wish desperately to get out the way sam does because he knows there are problems with life no matter what and the only thing he's ever had in his life that was good was his family so he works so desperately to fix it and keep it together.
like dean looks at their family and says “this used to be so good and its the only good i've ever known and that’s buried here somewhere and i can get back if i’m Good Enough” vs sam saying “this has never been anything but a disaster and will never be anything but a disaster so if i want something perfect i have to leave”
