Tbh hotd s2 was mid. I’m really disappointed that they didn’t focus on any of Jace’s escapades in the north,,,, only like 2 scenes with any starks whatsoever. no scene of aemond returning to kings landing w the news that he killed Luke + the reactions of the council once they realized war was inevitable (a scene I was personally looking forward to). even the side plot of alicent defecting—while not in the books and imo a good choice on the parts of the hotd writers—was very underwhelming and didn’t live up to the potential that it had. completely wasted gayle rankin’s talent, turned alys into just a generic goth girl who whispers riddles without her own development or independent scenes,,,,,, daemon spending allllll that fucking time in harrenhal, only to end up going back to rhaenyra in the end,,, it threw the pacing of the whole show off and felt like a complete waste of time,, AND NO NETTLES

Once again thinking about how, for so many years, Stede felt broken not being able to love Mary the way he was expected to. Feeling trapped in a loveless marriage after hoping he would be able to marry for love, to the point where he would sometimes cry himself to sleep. And how meeting Ed completely turned his life upside down and let him experience joy and love he never thought he would be able to…
Uh. Anyway. That’s why I love when people draw art of Stede and Mary miserable in bed together and then Stede and Ed all snuggled up and happy in bed together. And I would have loved a parallel like that in the series!

I’m deeply normal about Ema Skye so here’s some thoughts about her design and Phoenix.
When we meet her in her first design she has her bow that is a design reference to Lana’s scarf. And like you’d think that if you would bring the character back you’d put more Edgeworth design influences on her, because of her affection for him. In the Investigations series, however, she is in a red tie like Phoenix (the tie is striped but you see where I’m going). In her AA4 design, now that Phoenix is disbarred, she completely looses almost all blue from her design switching to a green waistcoat instead. I say almost because she still has her hydrogen button and it’s blue.
Because the one thing she keeps is the one that matches something that Phoenix always has, the Oxygen pin that she gave him to record.

I think it’s such a waste to spend all that time making archie understand that he can explore a man’s body and then not have him end up dating the other man in his polycule. I mean they never say he’s not dating jughead, betty just never tells us if they fuck. They could very well fuck but that’s not her business. Maybe she didn’t want to out gay archie

thoughts on best boy The Spot?
SUCH A GOOD VILLAIN.
When he’s a lighthearted probably-just-a-villain-of-the-week, he’s hilarious. I particularly loved him begging the store owner not to fight him off with a bat because this is his first robbery, please don’t make this a bad experience for him. He’s never done this before! It’s like he’s apologetic for the robbery being so inefficient, not the crime itself. His insistence that he’s Miles’s Nemesis instantly reminded me of The Panda Redd’s Lord Death Man videos. Him innocently saying “Oh, I love chai tea!” after Pavitr’s rant and Pav screaming “No!” and attacking him cracked me up. Despite his supervillain nemesis dreams, he’s so… polite and affable. Almost Doofenschmirtz-esque at times. Tell me Doof wouldn’t apologize in the exact same way for the “I came to India on a journey of self-discovery” faux pas.
I love that he’s the bagel guy. I treasure that moment with its bagel sound effect and I’m so glad they brought it back. He would cry so hard watching Everything Everywhere All at Once.
But the fact that he’s intertwined with Miles’s origin story and each of their superpowered conditions are unintended consequences of the other’s actions is highly relevant to the narrative, where the rippling consequences of your actions are a major theme. It’s kind of a fundamental Spider-Man thing, after all. It’s genuinely unsettling when he begs/demands Miles to look at him, really see him, and take him seriously. Even if he then literally kicks his own butt. It hits a lot harder after we see how isolating and distressing being an anomaly is to Miles himself. You can understand why Spot would obsess over their connection. Him starting out laughable and growing to be epic is an echo of Miles’s development in the first film - complete with a mostly black appearance upgrade when he gets the hang of it.
The tone blending is so masterful with him because he is also, somehow so scary. When he stops acting silly and friendly, it’s chilling. His powers are terrifyingly effective and dangerous and it seems like he hasn’t even fully unlocked their potential by the end of the movie. His appearance is silly (“Are you some sort of Cow Man?”) until it’s not; until it sinks in that he is a reality-rending cosmic abomination full of resentment, pain and spite, and his lack of a face or even eyes makes him feel more disturbingly eldritch than cartoonish. I cannot wait to see what he’s capable of in Beyond, and I hope the beautiful imagery puts Lovecraft to shame.

Ghosts
“You agreed.” The hero muttered, shutting their eyes. “You agreed to stay away, to stop doing this.”
“You should know better than to make deals with me, love.” The villain’s voice floated through the hero’s ears, making it impossible to tell where they were really coming from.
But it didn’t really matter, the source of the voice, because the hero wouldn’t look anyways.
“Open those pretty eyes for me, hm?”
It was almost easier when the hero was alone. There was no one to cast sympathetic eyes whenever they went pale, no one to call them crazy, no one to force a doctor’s visit.
They weren’t crazy, they didn’t need a doctor, and they didn’t need sympathy, they needed the villain to uphold their end of this bargain.
“I did you your favor. Leave me be, please.” The last part came out as just a whisper.
“And I am grateful for you, truly. Don’t misunderstand this as me being petulant. I’m simply finding the best way to repay you.”
“I don’t need to be repaid!” They, slammed their hand against the wall, and opened their eyes in a mad fury, wishing immediately that they didn’t.
The villain’s ghostly form shimmered in front of the hero, smiling.
“There are those pretty eyes.”
“What do you want!” The hero snarled. “Why won’t you leave me alone?”
“I already told you, I want to thank you in full. Now that I’m ‘dead’,” The chuckled, the inside joke amusing to them at the hero’s expense. “I live how I please. I would like the same for you.”
“This is how I please.”
The villain frowned, and disappeared, though their disembodied voice lingered.
“Liar. I see the way they look at you, full of pity. Would you like me to make it stop?”
“It’s because of you. Yes, I want you to make it stop, I want you to go away.”
Silence, and for a foolish moment, the hero thought that the villain might have honored their wish.
“They don’t quite seem the same anymore, do they?”
A foolish moment.
“Regardless of how heroic the act is, you still killed someone, you still killed me, and that makes them look at you, not just with pity, but with fear.”
“I didn’t kill you!”
“But they don’t know that.”
The villain appeared in front of the hero once more, causing them to jump, backing away from their nemesis.
But then there were hands on their shoulders, gripping them tightly.
The hero couldn’t help the heavy breathing, the involuntary shutting of their eyes.
“Another trick, another abuse of your ability. You aren’t here. You aren’t really here.”
“You’re so alone these days, aren’t you, love?” The villain’s voice right above the hero’s ear. “You can’t live as you please, not while they watch you the way they do. But if you were dead like me…”
“Stop it!”
“You would be free. I’ll make it stop for you, love, the pitying eyes and the fearful glances, I’ll make it all stop. This city will weep for what they once had.”
“I don’t want–!”
“Hush.”
The hero fell limp as the villain’s form fully solidified to hold them.
“You’ll find being dead the most freeing experience one can have. And you will get to watch these disgusting humans grovel beneath you as terror reigns. All the while, we’ll be ghosts.”

It was to prevent the fans gathered outside from hearing the show /:

Weebs on twitter are so annoying.
“Why are you calling the characters from digimon their English names? The dub sucks and it ruined the franchise in the west!”
Who gives a fuck? In the end of the day, it’s how people were introduced into the franchise and became long time fans of it! I get it. You want to feel special for reading subs and watching it like a real Japanese person or whatever you stupid weebs think but no one fucking cares that you hate dubs and think it “ruins” the anime. It just makes you look like a loser.
As far as dubs for kids go, digimon was one of the good ones and people still can call the characters by their English names. I’m pretty sure toei is still using those names for the new dub, so what is the fucking problem other than your a weeb?

Supernatural S5x15 “Dead Men Don’t Wear Plaid”
Dean: “you gave yourself your own nickname? You can’t do that.”
Digger: “who died and made you queen?”
Why did the writers even choose the word queen instead of king? They purposely be fucking with people 😂

was completely mystified for days by my cousins being like “let’s watch a movie!” and then BOTH OF THEM proceeding to stare at their phones throughout the entire film, glancing at the screen only whenever the dialogue or a musical cue implied that something Important was happening, only to realize that the issue is that modern films don’t rely on nearly as many purely visual elements as older films did, so my poor cousins missed over 50% of the jokes because i didn’t think to warn them that, when watching films directed by people who got their start before films had dialogue, you actually need to WATCH them to understand what is happening.

Ok so i’m pirating the Percy Jackson series and can i just say, i really like the way Sally Jackson is characterized. Like, she’s not the perfect mom who’s always happy, but instead she’s insecure and reactive. She yells sometimes, she cries sometimes, and she gets upset when Percy keeps pushing her buttons. and the best part is, the show doesn’t try to blame anyone for this. It’s not her fault for yelling at Percy, and it’s not Percy’s fault for making her yell. And despite it all, they still love each other so much.

This is niche as I’m unsure of the crossover between Ghost fans and Emigrate fans but the fact that the song “I’m Not Afraid” by Emigrate doesn’t say ft. Tobias Forge it very specifically says Ft. Cardinal Copia, it seems to imply that Richard exists in the Ghost universe
