A black clover request from me hihi, can u do lee yuno and lers klaus and mimosa?
Oo, the Golden Trio! I really like this one! I've gotcha covered, anon! :D
Yuno was, for lack of a better word- robotic.
At least, that’s how Mimosa and Klaus viewed him when he first joined the Golden Dawn.
Now, don’t take that the wrong way. They didn’t think of him like that because they viewed him less then. On the contrary, when he first came, they were awed by the magic he wielded and his cool demeter.
And that’s just it- his demeter.
It was rather…stiff. Stoic at times, even. Sure, Yuno was capable of smiling and soft chuckles from time to time, but they always felt forced, like he was being polite to his fellow knights. Mimosa thought she was the first to notice it, but Klaus beat her to the punch in terms of actually voicing the concern.
“Yuno is rather…quiet, no? It’s been a month- I realize not everyone will adapt as quickly but…” Klaus waved a hand, brows furrowing. “I don’t know- do you think we’ve done something wrong?”
“No, not at all.” Mimosa reassured him, patting his hand. “He’s new, and moving from a small village into somewhere like this…it’s an adjustment. He’s probably not used to being around so many people.”
“Yes…people who have rather cruel things to say.” Klaus’ voice cut bitterly. Mimosa hummed in disappointed agreement. She never liked the way her fellow members talked about others- especially commoners.
“Let’s make a deal. You and I are gonna do everything in our power to make Yuno feel as comfortable as possible here.” She stuck out her hand, smiling up at Klaus’ confused face. “If either of us break it, we’re sentenced to death.”
“A bit extreme but..alright.” Klaus nodded, shaking her hand. “Till death do us in.”
“Who’s gonna die?” Yuno asked as he entered, startling the pair. His eyes fell to their conjoined hands, blinking before starting to leave. “Sorry to interrupt. I’ll go-”
“What? No, get back here!” Klaus shot up, running after the younger man. Mimosa fanned her cheeks, flushed in embarrassment.
Well- they were certainly making an impression now.
~~~
For the next couple of weeks, Mimosa and Klaus did just as they promised.
At meals, they’d take a seat beside Yuno, either together or taking turns to not crowd him. They asked him about his training or Hage, about his rival Asta or any missions he partaked on lately.
Magic training was the same thing. Usually Klaus was paired up with him- offering advice where he could and keeping any unwanted stares off the younger man. If he happened to hear a snippet of rude remarks, he’d summon his magic, letting the massive steel chariot slam down on the ground hard enough to drown them out. All under the guise of “Showing newer, faster ways of summoning magic” he’d say.
Downtime was where Mimosa shined best. She’d find him after a long day with some sort of offering- a basket of hand towels coated in a soothing lavender scent, some bread she snuck from dinner that night if he was out late, some sort of ointment or remedy for any bruises and injuries. Even for five minutes or so, she’d try to have some conversation with him, little things that she’d talk to anyone about.
All this and Yuno…well, he was still rather stiff. At some point it seemed their efforts were backfiring. He came to dinner late, taking a random chair far from the pair. During training he’d take up the offer of the first person who wanted to duel before Klaus could get to him. At some point Mimosa just couldn’t find him in the halls.
The pair regrouped, determined to sort out what was wrong.
“Maybe we’re too aggressive? He's been avoiding us a lot recently.” Mimosa offered, biting her lip in worry. “I think we’re scaring him.”
“Maybe we are. Though if we completely leave him be, he might think we’re done with him.” Klaus rubbed his jaw, tapping his fingers against his thigh. “I don’t know, Mimosa- maybe we’re not approaching this right.”
“No, I don’t think we are.” She agreed, closing her eyes. “How about-”
Someone cleared their throat. Mimosa let out a squeak of shock, nearly falling off the bed. Klaus barely caught onto her wrist before turning to the sound, eyes widening when he saw Yuno. “Oh! Y-Yuno! How are you? We were just…” He turned to Mimosa, looking for help. Her expression was also one of pure panic, unsure of how to respond.
“Talking about me?” Yuno sounded angry. He looked angry too, eyes sharp and body tense with defensiveness that neither Klaus and Mimosa saw before. “Looking for more things to warn yourselves about?”
“What? Wait- back up.” Mimosa pulled herself to her feet, holding up her hands. “What are you talking about?”
“Listen, if you two are so concerned about me being here, that’s fine. Just leave me alone. You don’t need to keep watch over me 24/7.” Yuno seemed to retract into himself, folding his arms across his chest as if that would protect him. “I know I’m no noble, but I assure you I won’t do anything to get in your way-”
“Stop.” Klaus cut in sharply, silencing him. “Stop that right now. You don’t even know what’s going on.”
“Then tell me then. What’s going on?” Yuno glared, the look sharp with distrust. Within the amber color, you could see shades of hurt. “What did I do to you two that makes you think I can’t be trusted?”
Mimosa and Klaus shared a look, eyes wide with shock. Mimosa sighed then, rubbing her face. “We did overdo it, Klaus.”
“I concur.” He nodded, turning to Yuno with apologetic eyes. “We’re sorry, Yuno. That was not our intention at all. We were simply trying to make you feel welcomed.”
Yuno’s gaze went from pissed to shocked, anger deflating as he gaped at them. “Huh?”
“Yes, we…we noticed you were rather…uncomfortable when you first got here.” Mimosa shuffled closer, folding her hands over her chest. “You seemed so standoffish and nervous- Klaus and I; we wanted to help you feel better, so we agreed to do whatever it took to do that.”
“Of course, we got…carried away.” Klaus cleared his throat, cheeks flushing. “I suppose offering to be your training partner every time during practice was a bit much.”
“And finding you after the day was done as much as I did was kinda weird.” Mimosa laughed nervously, tugging at her hair. “I figured the gifts I brought would convey my intent, but I suppose it only made things more strange.”
“Forgive us, Yuno. We really mean no harm.” Klaus bowed his head in apology, placing a hand over his heart. “On the name of House Lunettes, I assure you we had no malicious intent behind any of our actions.”
“That’s a pretty big deal- he’s swearing on his name.” Mimosa nodded in agreement, smiling when Klaus gave her a look. “What? You do that often.”
“I do not!”
“Do to.”
“Do- no. I won’t fall for your Vermillion tricks.” Klaus huffed, earning a giggle from the girl.
Yuno blinked, the arms over his chest loosening to fall to his sides as he took it all in. So they weren’t keeping watch. They simply were trying to be his friend.
Flushing, he looked away, embarrassed. “I’m sorry- god I’m an idiot. Forgive me- I just…I’m not…” He hadn’t felt this loss for words since Sister Lily surprised them with pancakes for his and Asta’s birthday.
He felt a hand take his, enclosing it with gentle fingers. “Hey, it’s okay. We understand.” Mimosa’s voice was sweet and understanding, her smile equally so when he dared a peek.
“Yes. It was a clumsy execution, but we’re glad you finally understood what we meant.” Klaus reached out and squeezed his shoulder, pushing up his glasses.
Yuno tried to smile, still rather guilty from his own assumptions. “Thank you…I should have said that instead of getting angry.”
“Yes, you should.” Mimosa raised her chin with a mock frown, eyes dancing. “Klaus, Yuno has shown great insult to our efforts. As his elder Magic knights, we must show him respect.”
“Elder? You’re his age, no?” Mimosa glared. Klaus bit down a laugh. “Of course, Mimosa. You are absolutely correct.”
“What? Correct about what?” Yuno blinked, suddenly aware of how close the two were.
“Yuno, tell me.” Mimosa’s eyes glittered with unbound mischief. “Are you, by any chance, ticklish?”
Yuno blinked, unprepared for the question. His face started to burn traitorously, a clear indication to the pair. Mimosa lit up at it, and Klaus subtly moved behind him, trapping him effectively. “Um…maybe?”
“Good enough for me!” Mimosa shot forward like a rocket, her fingers finding his sides with rapid succession. Immediately Yuno tensed up, unprepared for the sudden waves of ticklishness shooting up his nerves. Pressing his lips into a wobbly smile, he tried to push her hands away, only to be blocked by Klaus’s hands.
“Come now, don’t try to fight it, Yuno.”
Still- he was going to try. It was in his nature. Stubbornly fighting down the various laughs and giggles building up, he doubled his efforts to fight away their hands, all slaps and swats in vain as Mimosa found the worst spots along his ribcage. It wasn’t long before the sensitivity won.
“Ah! Ahehehehhahhahahahaha! Mi-Mihiihhimosa, plehahahhase!” He broke, giving up on fighting her hands and instead trying to cover his face. “Dohohohohon’t!”
“Don’t what?” She asked sweetly.
“Tiiihihihihckle mehehhehhe! Whahahit, wahhahahit nohoohohohohooho!” He fell right into her trap!
“Tickle you? Well, if you insist!” She giggled, clearly enjoying herself. Her hands moved across his torso, searching for tickle spots. Clawing at the center of his belly made him try to double over, and squeezing his hips made him spasm with a cackle. Her favorite spot, she quickly found, was the spot beneath his ribs. It seemed to bring out a long string of musical laughter that proved rather endearing to listen to.
“Sorry, Yuno- should have warned you of her tricks.” Klaus almost sounded sympathetic, one hand still keeping him in place, the other slipped beneath Yuno’s arm, scribbling there.
“AHEHEHHE!”
“Oo, a bad spot?” Klaus asked. Mimosa nodded encouragingly.
Yuno shook his head in vain, his legs growing weak from the relentless attack. Eventually, when his cheeks were ruby red and his eyes were teary with mirth, they finally let him rest.
Yuno’s knees hit the ground, arms wounded tightly around his torso as he doubled over, gasping for breath. His ribs hurt, alongside his cheeks. Yet his chest felt light and airy- his burning lungs oddly refreshed. “Eh…hehhe…hehehe…yohohohu two are theheherrible.” He groaned, earning a few retaliating pokes that made him squirm.
“Rude! After all the kindness we did you!” Mimosa teased, kneeling down as she gently pat his head.
“He’s not entirely wrong though. We are rather awful.” Klaus hummed, making them laugh.
“The worst of the worst!” Mimosa agreed. Turning back to Yuno, she was relieved to see him smiling back at her. “Now that that’s settled, do you want to be our friends? We’re a mess, but I think you’d like us.”
“Yeah…I think I would, actually.” Yuno nodded.
~~~
From that day forward, things for the Golden trio changed. Yuno and Klaus trained together, switching out from time to time to keep the variety going, and Mimosa still seeked him out after the day was done, just not as often. She still brought gifts, pleasantly surprised when Yuno started to do so as well. They were never anything too fancy, a flower he found, or a really cool rock- but the gesture made her heart swell.
What did stay consistent was meal times. The three could always be found sitting together, sharing bread and stories. It became a regular favorite for Mimosa and Klaus.
It became Yuno’s favorite time as well.
