reasons not to leave food for the neighbourhood feral cats right in front of your downstairs neighbour's front door:

they will start to assume any food delivery left on the doorstep is for them and will chew it out of the bag and drag it across the yard if you don't get it in time (a considerable problem when your food delivery people are allergic to knocking on your door when they drop it off)

(to be clear, I am the downstairs neighbour, I do not feed the cats)

#lula's life #my roommate's food has been the first casualty #what makes this worse is that Every Feral Cat here is diseased #very visibly diseased #and thanks to some poor planning fuckery by the RSPCA we have absolutely nowhere to take these cats if we were even able to capture them #if we want to neuter them or if they need to be put down because they're too sick #we would have to pay for it #with money we really do not have #we're just kinda stuck with them hosting jellicle balls in our yard every night #rip the local bird population

working in an art gallery and talking to a lot of full time artists has given me CRAZY imposter syndrome btw lmao

#i went to a local gallery today (not the one i work in)#and i was looking at this one artists work #and she used a lot of patterns but didnt go up to her #she came up to me as i was looking at her work like ' hi i see youre looking at my work which one do u like most' like okay #i had my headphones on at the time so it did scare me #anyway im really stuck thinking about her work #like shes got this lovely cluttered and messy and chaotic style with still life in one dimension #and she uses pattern and quilt-like grids and so much colour #and the chaos of her work is by far the best part #how nothing stays in their boxes andeverythings falling #its homely and DRAMATIC. which is a mix that doesnt always go together but is held together by the chaos of her work #AND THEN SHE PUTS COLLAGE QUOTES ON IT 'fly high in the sky like a butterfly'#AUUUGGGHHH it pisses me off so much. REALLY? THATS THE BEST QUOTE? no song lyrics no deepp meaning nothing to express the narrative? bitch #love her style but its KITCH shes KITCH her quotes are KITCH her subjects are KITCH <- lives in kitch central of the uk but WHATEVER #by the way im not exagerrating with fly high like a butterfly she really thought that was the quote to describe this chaotic scene like she #eight years old like what the hell. there ere others too the pissed me off #and then i talked to her and she was like. WEIRDLY insistant tht even though she used stencils and that her dughter and husbnd drew anythin #mildly complicated that she had still done a lot of work I HADNT SAID ANYTHING #but she was just BRUSHING OVER whenever i mentioned her patterns and stencils like she was ASHAMED #like what the hell im all for having fun with what you draw but youre three times my age and i can draw a bird better than our adult daught #also i spoke to her turns out she knows my stepdad so that was an odd link but whatever #anyway artists that give me imostersyndrome are my boss who does realism in WATERCOLOUR #oh the woman in the gallery also gave me a printed card whcih was cool since i was going to buy one just to be mad at

i will never hate any bird. i love you geese i love you seagulls i love you pigeons i love you sparrows i love you vultures etc etc. all of them are special 2 me.

#my lore #a lot of the time they just get hated for issues human caused (seagulls & pigeons stealing food for example)#or like. eating dead things. (which NEEDS to happen or else diseases spread and there's animal corpse everywhere)#and with house sparrows. okay they aren't native to where i live (not really their fault) and im not sure why they can be so aggressive. so #i can't really speak on that. but it's sad to see them dismissed for being plain or common or whatever. that's still a little beast. be nic #and geese. my local geese have never been aggressive #unless you count parents hissing as a warning if i get too close.#which makes sense!! their babies are vulnerable and they're just trying to protect then #okay rant over. i like every bird. goodbye.

sunny days by David Kamp is very insightful when it comes to all the kid shows from the 60's to 80's!! I recommend it if you are interested in reading on that kind of stuffs! The passage on Sesame Street and diversity surprised me! I hadn't expected a lot of the information it provided but it definitely helped !!

honestly being in some tall CRP grasses and brambles and brush would fix me <- a man who hasn't walked in the countryside in over a year

#i'd take the locust trees and briars and cockleburs i don't CARE scratch me up i just want to be OUTSIDEEEEEEE #there's barely any bugs this time of year too so i wouldn't have to worry too much abt ticks and mites and skeetos #i really am my mother's son. i don't need the outdoors as much as she does but i genuinely think i need to get out in the wilderness at #LEAST once a year or i start becoming (more) fucked in the head #cityslickers do NOT get the appeal of getting dirt under ur nails & whacked in the face w/ branches in a cedar stand but it is transcendant!#theres birds. theres deer. coyotes. turkeys. bobcats even. and the cougars are returning!! i wanna be OUT THERE #ik my granddad's land out there isn't proper prairie bc it has trees due to human intervention but like. god. i still need to be Out There!#i need to look for cool rocks and arrowheads and mushrooms and hunt for shed antlers and read a book while my mom hunts #maybe i should go to the local nature preserve sometime this week. it's small but beautiful and i NEED this i can't wait for october #len speaks

also wanna say thank you to those being patient with me and my slow ass self with writing… I’m trying to write as much as I can but it’s hard to find the motivation with work weighing me down so much （；＿；）+ the holiday seasons been so busy for me… but im hoping stuff will cool down after and it’ll get better. I’m also actively looking for another job that I hope will be less physically draining so that I’ll feel better lol

#im actually gonna apply to a local pet store soon…. praying I get that job because even if im there 8 hours a day i’ll #at least feel better about being there with all the birds and bunnies and pigs #I think the difference would actually be kinda big considering birds are like. so important to me. pet animals in general lol #maybe it won’t feel like I’m getting the soul sucked outta me if I get to listen to the loud tweeting all day #you’d also be surprised how physically draining it can be to bring in carts all day and have to constantly bag for like 3 cashiers at once #having cart duty is only fun at night bc during the day once you bring in one stack of 6-8 carts they’ll all be gone by the next time you #bring in another 8 #and we have to do it all manually with straps cause our store doesn’t have the cart machines 😞#NOT TO MENTION. THE PARKING LOT IS ON AN INCLINE TOO. all of that pieced together just kinda makes it suck lol #I can do it but my body is so sore after every shift its so hard smtimes

Oh my god I just remembered the dream I had last night; the council came and cut down the gum trees behind my house and the kookaburras and lorikeets had no native trees in my area anymore so they flew away

#the trees aren’t in my backyard but they’re right up against our back fence #my mum hates how close they are and wishes they were planted like at least 10m away #(she’s rightfully worried about a storm causing them to fall on our house)#also they leave such a mess XD #but the council have been coming by and chopping a lot of trees down and trimming and so I guess I was thinking about that lol #and I just adore our local kookaburras and lorikeets 😭#I want them to stay 😭#anyway #ren rambles #dreams #nightmare?#to me personally LMAO #birds
