I must admit I'm getting this horrible image in my head of Tarn as that type of creepy guy who donates way too much money to a streamer and then absolutely loses it when he hears they're not single.

That's probably accurate lol. Although unlike (seemingly) most people in this fandom, I blame Megatron more for turning Tarn into that kind of obsessed freak than I do Tarn for being a freak. I mean, my view is basically "you reap what you sow/the monster you created turned around and bit you" so I don't really have sympathy for Megatron with regards to Tarn showing up and ruining his life lol. I actually really like the DJD coming in MTMTE as basically the living embodiment of karma and Megatron's comeuppance about not being able to run away from/ignore his past.

Like blah blah "no matter how sad your backstory is you're still responsible for your own actions" but also Megatron is literally 100% the reason Tarn is Like That, and Megatron also used parasocial manipulation, propaganda, and his grandiose personality to manipulate the Decepticons into worshipping/following him without question. So like. It's fiction, I don't have to be all "well they're all problematic" I can just be like "lol, lmao even" and point and laugh as Megatron gets fucked up by Tarn and the DJD because he can't talk his way out of this problem.

I def agree that Nimona's story was a major trans allegory for sure, but also as a queer person in general the whole "maybe I wouldn't die, but I sure wouldn't be living" thing resonated so hard, and like especially as a bisexual person.

Cuz being bi+ there's a lot of pressure from both sides to pick one, either be gay or be straight, and it gets way worse when we're in a relationship, bcs people will say shit like "oh well you're a woman dating a man, so you're straight now, why do you keep talking about being bi?" or vice-versa, like people don't understand why recognizing my indentity is important outside of the context of a relationship, and it's so frustrating bcs yeah like, maybe from the outside it looks like I'm straight, and maybe I could just be quiet and ignore my identity and I'd wouldn't die, but...I wouldn't be living.

And it was wild too bcs a few months back I was talking with my fiancé, who's also bi, and kinda venting cuz I'd seen some of that kind of biphobia in the wild and it'd upset me, and I remember saying something so similar. Like "I could probably just shut up and pretend I'm not bisexual, but that would feel like a death, like some part of me had died, I wouldn't be able to really live" so to hear Nimona say basically the exact same thing? Instant tears. I've never felt more understood.

And even with the other parts of myself, being asexual and trying to figure out what sort of relationship I want to have to my gender, so often I see people say stuff like "why do you have to tell other people that you're ace" and "if you're not going to transition at all why does your gender identity matter" and it's like because this is my authentic self and expressing that is the only way I can feel like my life is worth living!!

It's just so nice to hear that put into words, and I have a feeling a lot of queer people of all identities could relate in that moment, bcs we all hear the refrain of "why can't you just keep this to yourself and pretend you're normal" over and over again from ignorant people, some who mean well and some who very much Do Not, and Nimona is right! Maybe some of us wouldn't die outright, but for a lot of us a life spent hiding who we are, stuffing ourselves in boxes for the comfort of others, trying desperately to seem normal, it simply isn't a life where we're truly living.

Anyway rambling over, this movie is just so good and so queer and ough I can't stop crying about it T-T

Brodie Sampson was a foreboding man, but he somewhat reminded Robin of his father; tough and weathered on the outside, with a soft, gooey centre reserved for those who knew him closely. His voice was gruff when he finally decided to speak.

“I thought I told you not to wander off-.. and who is this?”

Alex rolled her eyes, resenting the way her father constantly scolded her for leaving the watchtower, despite the fact that he left for hours and hours every day.

“I was bored, and this is Robin-.. but he can’t talk.”

Brodie scoffed, “That’s convenient.”

“He’s fun and nice, don’t stress over it-.. please?” Alex asked, or rather, demanded, throwing a dusty notepad and a pencil in front of Robin. He’d promised to write his address down for her so she could write to him, they were going to be pen-pals!

Brodie grumbled, immediately dropping any misgivings, just as Alex had asked. “What do you want from the store?”

“Gummy worms!” Alex shouted.

“You’ll have no teeth left…” Brodie tutted, grabbing his coat.

“They’ll grow back.” Alex shoved a finger in her mouth, prodding the exposed gum where her front teeth used to be.

“Hm-.. you better get yourself gone soon, son. I’m sure your parents are wondering where you are.” Brodie squinted at Alex as he headed out, as if to warn her against convincing Robin to stay any longer; she stuck her tongue out at him.

Robin nodded as Brodie left, hastily scrawling down the rest of his address. He wondered if he ought to write anything else, an apology perhaps? He felt bad that he hadn’t managed to speak to Alex yet, but he was going home soon, so the opportunity had already passed. Maybe he didn’t have anything interesting to say, anyway.

“He’s nice really, he’s just-.. moody, or whatever.”

Robin forced a smile as she continued.

“It’s so not fair, having to stay cooped up in here all day-.. what does he expect?”

Robin supposed he expected his daughter to listen to him, though he also supposed it wasn’t fair that she had to stay here alone every day either. Did she go to school? Were they on some kind of permanent vacation? He’d have to remember to ask her when they wrote to one another, they’d have more chance of getting to know each other that way-.. especially since he still seemed unable to talk like a normal human being.

Alex hovered at the top of the staircase, blocking Robin’s path.

“I don’t want you to go-.. home, I mean.” She clarified.

For some reason, Robin found it hard to read Alex, but he could sense enough to know that she was lonely. She seemed much more present than anyone else he knew; often avoiding thinking about the past or the future, or ruminating on her thoughts for too long, instead acting on contagious, frivolous impulsiveness.

He couldn’t decide whether it was refreshing or frustrating. He’d gotten used to knowing what went on in people’s minds, and whether he liked it or not, Alex was an enigma. Robin would’ve done anything to avoid going home-.. and back to school, but since he couldn’t say so out loud, he did the next best thing.

“Ough!” Alex squeaked with surprise as Robin yanked her off her feet, wrapping his arms around her in a vice like bear hug.

Since he was so awkward with his words-.. or lack thereof, she’d wrongly assumed he’d be weirded out by physical affection too. Giggling slightly, she decided it was quite nice to be wrong. Her father wasn’t exactly a hugger, and it wasn’t as though she had anyone else she could randomly accost with her need for affection, people would think she was odd or clingy.

“I guess you don’t want to go either?” She asked, almost rhetorically.

Robin shook his head vigorously, tilting backwards precariously until Alex squealed again.

“Okay, okay, you can put me down now.. I promise I’ll write!”

and hhhhh oh good gods.... karmic!zhongli.... hurting from all the souls he killed... ough.... see, considering what karmic debt did to xiao in canon, for me karmic!zhongli is just.... pitiful. he's haunted by the lives he's taken and yet he puts on such a serene mask that you don't suspect anything's wrong. it's a heartbreaking sight for sure.

HOWEVER, eroded zhongli, on the other hand.... eroded!zhongli is one of my favorite headcanon branch for yan!zhongli and i love love love the concept so much because we know canonically how much effect it has on adepti and dragons alike, how much it can distort one's perception to the point that it changes one's memories.

eroded!zhongli could be downright delusional sometimes, and oh how it hurts to see your once humbled and gentle husband revert to his none-the-wiser self that's brasher, instinct-driven, and a whole lot more bloodthirsty - but even worse. because this time, he can't seem to listen to reason at all. and even if you succeed in taming him one day, everything seems to go up in vapors the next day. the struggle of watching your loved one slowly sinking into madness and there's nothing else you could do but cradle him close as he scrambles to drag you down along with him, talons digging into your form like a lifeline, black sclera highlighting dull ambers that shone with both unspoken horrors and the stare of a devout follower looking at his only salvation. was it out of sheer desperation? was it survival instinct coming into play? did he remember the times how you would always comfort him when he was at his lowest? ..... no matter.

at least this way the geo dragon won't be lonely.

SUMMARIZED ID: Reigen gives Mob a pep talk about speaking to other people and tells him he just has to gain experience by training his social skills. Mob is at 50% progress towards his explosion. They arrive at the clients house and Dimple leaves due to the powerful spirits inside. FULL ID UNDER CUT

(This is a body swap, so I'll be referring to the characters as who they actually are but keep in mind that Reigen is in Mob's body and vice versa.)

"Reigen is speaking to Mob,his hand is on his shoulder and he's holding up one finger while speaking. Reigen says, "There is no set way to get along with other people. Because every person is unique- what might be the right thing to say to someone, could be the wrong thing for somebody else, understand?"

Mob looks at Reigen with a slightly awed expression. Reigen continues, "The best you can do is try to treat people with the same kindness you'd want for yourself."

Reigen smiles and leans over a bit, putting his free arm up on his knee that's perched on the curb. His other hand is still on Reigen's shoulder. Dimple is sitting to the right of Mob on the curb, with two little legs dangling over the edge. Reigen continues, patting Mob on the back. "More than likely, they're feeling just as awkward as you are! Nobody's got it all figured out- it only seems that way because you're not seeing the bigger picture of their lives."

Reigen holds up two fingers, smirking confidently. "People who are really good at talking to others benefit from common sense and experience." He gestures his hand out and shrugs a little dismissively. "And while you don't have common sense," He points at Mob, smiling widely again. "You can get experience!" He places his hand over his mouth in thought. "You're still in that exercise club, right?"

"Mhmm." Mob replies. Reigen points at him. "How much can you lift right now?"

Mob looks a little embarrassed, averting his eyes with a slight blush on his cheeks. "mm... 35 pounds."

"And how much could you lift when you started?" Reigen asks. Mob looks back to him, eyebrows raised slightly and a sweatdrop on his cheek. "20." He answers.

Reigen beams and holds up a finger, gesticulating. "That's a huge improvement, right!? But that's only because you trained everyday."

He tilts his head slightly downward, lopsidedly grinning, and confidently looks at Mob. "You have to train your social skills too, remember that."

He continues, "Hey, why don't you start helping me with consultations every once in a while? We can start small."

Mob's lips are slightly parted and he looks at Reigen in slight awe. "It's like training...?" He thinks to himself. He smiles, eyes shining and nods. "Yeah."

Mob and Reigen stand outside the clients house. It very boxy in shape with a square roof and garage. The windows are in triplets and shaped like rectangles. There is one small tree in front of the house. The double doors are framed by an angular archway and are dark. Above the archway is a semicircle window. Outside is a square, brick, fence.

Reigen knocks on the door. Hiroto opens the door. Reigen looks up at Hiroto, the camera angle makes him seem smaller. He is smiling up at him with his customer service smile. "Good evening, Mr. Hiroto!" Reigen greets.

Hiroto crouches down, hands on his knees, and smiles at Reigen. "Good evening, young man. You're right on time!"

"Come on in." He continues. Reigen keeps his smile, but it's tighter and strained now. There's an angry pulse symbol on his forehead. He heads inside with Hiroto. Mob stays stood outside.

Mob looks behind him at Dimple, who is floating away. "Dimple? Are you going somewhere?"

Dimple turns to Mob. "Yeah. I can tell there's some pretty powerful spirits in there so... I'm gonna steer clear for now."

He shrugs, smiling in a lighthearted manner. "Would've been fun to see Reigen try to use your powers, though!"

"Oh." Mob says.

Dimple's lightheartedness lessens and he looks a little unsure. "But... uh... if you need me... you know how to reach me, right?"

Mob nods, smiling slightly.

Dimple floats off, waving behind his back to Mob. "Alright, good luck. And don't let Reigen get your body killed! You don't wanna be stuck looking like that forever, ahaa!~"

Sometimes, he just wants to be reminded that even with a lack of depth perception and a generally low precision skill, he's still doing a good job. He also doesn't mind being reminded that he absolutely killed that day, it makes him feel confident in his skills.

Engie- "Good work!" or "We couldn't have gotten that win without you!"

Engie is a fan of small compliments or just feeling depended on. He gets really happy when people acknowledge the effort he puts into his work, even if it's just being told it was good. He also loves the idea that he helped cary the match with his efforts. It feels good to be recognized, you know?

He loves being told that he did good being a protector. He just always wants to make sure his friends are okay! And being told he was doing good at that makes him so happy. He also just likes the small confidence boost of being told he did amazing.

Let's be honest, even throwing a thank you. This man's way is enough sometimes. But in general, he's so used to being called insane or "not a really doctor" that when someone says that they trust him, he's immediately happy. He also loves being told he's an asset, people forget how important his job actually is, and it hurts, so telling him that hes valued will make him giddy. (Not a healer main insert at all).

Scout- "You're doing great!" Or "I'm proud of you!"

He just wants to be told he's doing a good job, be reassured that he's not absolutely horrible at his job, or just be told that someone is proud of his efforts. Compliments like that make his day so much better. It reminds him that even if his day is shit, or if the other mercs are being assholes, he's still doing great no matter what .

Sniper- "Great shot!" Or "You were super impressive today!"

You'll never see an actual reaction from him, but being told he did good or that he was impressive makes him so happy internally. He's spent years getting good at his job. It's nice to hear that your effort paid off and that people notice your skills. It seems so little, but it makes him so happy 😭

Spy- "You look very nice today!" Or "You're very skilled at what you do."

Basically, anything that gives him an ego boost is the best compliment you can give him. "Of course I look good," or "We're there any doubts of my skills?" Are common replies, but God forbid you don't compliment him at least once after every round. He gets so sulky/pissy.

Soldier- "You're making your country proud with work like that!" or "I'm happy I get to work along side you!"

He loves being told he's making people proud, but the idea that his country is proud is a whole other thing. He gets so thrilled to hear that, like this man is smiling for the rest of the day. Getting told people are happy to work along side him is a feeling he loves, he's used to people not really being near him a lot due to his intense nature, but when people ignore that and actually seem okay with, he gets like a million times happier.

Pyro- "You were on fire today!" or "You were really impressive today!"

They love fire puns, but they also love just generally being complimented for their skills. They work really hard! They just want to hear silly fire themed compliments and puns after murdering someone in cold blood you know? Being told they impressed someone is also a great feeling for them, I don't think they hear that as much as they'd like.
