#my art #marinette dupain cheng #miraculous ladybug #miraculous fanart #style mimic #sorry for the @s btw #yall should go follow those artists if you dont already also #this was sort of inspired by a post the three artists on the top row made #i think they all got together and drew with one another #which is really cool #but i was genuinely confused because i mimic styles a lot #and ive seen others do it too so i was just like #wow they really know each others styles really well #until i thought about it and read their posts some more #style mimicking is really freaking fun and i think its really good practice #and a good way to explore other ways of doing things #like you really have to learn new techniques and get out of your comfort zone #also anna scribbles i could not find a recent pic of marinette in her main outfit #so thats the only marinette i drew in different clothes cuz i couldnt find a more recent ref of you drawing it #anna scribble marinette has privileges thats the others dont #but ye #i also threw my own style in there as a frame of reference to what me draw like #ive drawn marinette before just not in a loooong while #sabertooth walrus was the hardest for me to mimic cuz they have a broad range in their style #so its like which sabertooth do i wanna be in this pic #Buggachat has such a distinct style thats very clean and consistent which is amazing so they were easy #being easy or hard arent bad things either it also has to do with like styles meeting up with one another #buggachats and mine arent too too different in some shapes and aspects #so yeah itd be easier plus they drew marinette like 3 sec ago so i have more recent of a ref #as opposed to sabertooth who i have a recent ref of ladybug but not marinette so we got two diff styles in one

i saw this tweet and found it interesting for two reasons. one is that some people base how good cartoon network would be to toh by how it treated su, and despite the fact that su’s treatment by the network was considered poor at the time, now its thought to be exceptionally good in comparison to modern shows.

two is how exactly su got impacted by a limited budget. a common criticism is how characters like connie, peridot, and lapis are left out of missions. but balancing a lot of characters is not only hard but also costly (extra animation, extra voices—it’s been revealed that the show is limited to a set number of characters per episode otherwise they’re over budget). animation mistakes are not uncommon since retakes cost extra. the entire reason the original show got cut short was due to loss of funding!

#i don’t know if pay rates differ per networks #but a.ivi and s.urrashu have said that they needed to work outside of su in order to make sufficient funds #it only makes me wonder what other ways su suffered from a lower budget #that we as the audience never got to see #in the vein of the too-little characters complaint #another part of that is that low-stakes episodes should’ve been abt the main cast instead of the townies #like last one out of beach city and too short to ride vs restaurant wars and kiki’s pizza delivery service #i definitely see that especially since that isn’t budget related #nor would it seem to be network related (even if cn had an ‘episodic episodes’ quota it could still be abt the gems #(another side note: /would/ cn even have a requirement that the show make episodes that can be watched standalone?#this is a question for the people who were around when su was airing #what episodes often got rerun?#was it the townie eps or the lore eps?#for example i heard that su once did a ‘peridot event’ where they just reran peridot episodes #which had eps that skip around in the show #did they even care about airing the story so that it made sense anyways?#id get it if the low stakes townie episodes were the ones getting rerun))#but i have such a boring view on that which is i think it’s simply because the creators like townie eps #like in interviews r.ebecca s.ugar has said she’s the type to be really invested in background characters #answers in interviews have been crafted in ways to hide what’s really going on though tbf #prime example of this is rebecca and ian saying the wedding being interrupted was meant to follow the common trope #when later in the art book they said that it was bc cn rejected the ep bc it ‘wasn’t interesting enough’#both could simultaneously be true! it’s a psychology thing though where people make up nice-sounding explanations behind what they create #in retrospect because they want it to be thought out in such a nice way they believe in it #the bigger problem is that not matter how many episodes there are of them #it can be hard for ppl to be invested in the townies the same way they are invested in the main cast #i’m sure that a million writers have made surefire advice on how to get an audience to care about characters #but off the top of my head i think it’s because 1. most don’t have strong motivations to get truly invested in #(exception is ronaldo but people find him too annoying to care about him)#okay i had more points and explanations but i hit the tag limit and idk if anyone is actually reading this so bye

sorry but do you ever think about the fact that the bernard we have today is a direct amalgamation of everything that happened in his past and i know that sound like such an obvious statement to say but it actually kills me to know that you can draw a direct line from who he is today all the way back to that sixteen year old boy who watched his best friend bleed out. like it is the defining moment in his life. it fundamentally shaped who he is and the person he's become. he is the bernard we know and love not despite the grieves shooting but because of it. because the gangs all got together and shot up his school. because tim walked out of that room with nothing but a baseball bat. because his darla got shot. because he watched her gasp and cry as she died. because he watched the blood coagulate around the wound. because he sat there and held her hand as her life drained out of her. because he walked into school that day with a joke he knew would make her laugh and her nose would scrunch up and she'd snort a little and tim would roll his eyes at him and call him ridiculous and instead he walked out with a bloody white shirt, blood under his fingernails, and two friends less. because, even now, almost half a decade out from the shooting, he thinks that if he closes his eyes, he will always be that stupid, scared little sixteen year old, holding the cooling body of dead best friend.

#there is a direct throughline from the boy we meet in robin 121 all the way to man tim reconnects with in urban legends 4 #like maybe you guys have other interpretations of it but to me this is *the* defining moment in his life #and that's not to say that he perpetually bound to this traumatic event but it impacted him sooo much that his life is now divided #before shooting and after shooting #like you cannot tell me him falling into the cult was just something that happened to him #it happened bc he was in such a bad place from watching his friend die and then on top of that he loses contact with tim!!!!#this is his canon event!!!!#if you took it away from him if you made it so that he never had to go through it #the bernard we would get would not be the same bernard we got in urb leg4 and tdr #does it not make you want to chew on drywall that to get to the bear we love he has watch his darla die first????#head in hands head in hands #and it wasnt like batman came immediately after darls died!!! iirc they had to wait a little before he came #which means!!!!! alll those kids but bear esp had to sit in that room with darls' dead body until batman came!!!!!#do you think he cried and held her hand until batman came??? do you think he begged her not to go??? or do you think he told her #stories and made promises of all the things they were gonna do after they got out??? do you think he put pressure on the wound and #watched as the blood soaked through the jacket they were using as a towel??? and when she finally passed do you think he bit his lip #clean through to stop himself from wailing? bc if he's too loud the gunmen will hear them and he cannot be the reason jay from #history dies #auuuugh i cant fucking do this anymore #bernard dowd #timbern #darla aquista #louis grieve trio

Hangster Twisters enemies-to-lovers AU where Rooster and Hangman have different chasing teams (like, Javy with Hangman and Phoenix with Rooster or smth) and their respective wingman are like, "my brother in Christ, this would be so much easier if you two dipshits would just work together" and ofc they're both like "over my dead fucking body" but they keep ending up at the same goddam storms anyway.

omfg yes!!!! they even have rival YouTube accounts and it’s a whole thing of like which side are you on in this niche tornado chaser community. Bradley’s channel is more focused on explaining the data and schematics, sort of like a virtual class on tornadoes and meteorology. meanwhile, Jake’s is a lot like Tyler Owens’ tornado wranglers channel where they do challenges and shit

however, after the storms all die down, both teams go to help the communities affected and even link charities to donate to, and it’s here where Jake and Bradley are at their most friendly because now isn’t the time to be causing a scene over something as petty as “stealing” each other’s thunder. this could even lead to both teams eventually coming together to create a solution that could “tame” a tornado
