I feel like auto-battle failing me is a sign to actually do my battles manually

#angryborzois rambles #i beat japhet half-manually #i let batter do all the fighting but reeled the control back every few rounds to heal the team #because everyone kept getting poisoned #and the add-ons died 3 times #but we ultimately won #which wouldnt have happened if it was fully on auto i think #because auto never heals the team and just focuses on fighting #progress ig??#on an unrelated note zone 2 is my fav zone i think #i really like japhet's design and story and how in the end he waited for batter to come defeat him because he was tired of everything #pablo crying for valerie after the zone was purified was sad though #i wonder how long he stayed on the rooftop just going in circles and searching for his brother #meanwhile batter saying “whatever” to japhet emerging from valerie's body was cold asf #but then again its batter #hes heartless #BUT #i still like to believe that his silence in regards to pablo asking if he had seen valerie was out of sympathy #or he was stunned maybe #he could've easily said “he's dead and you saw it too”#but he remained silent #i like to think that was a little bit of sympathy on his end

Thinking about Elizabeth Woodville as a gothic heroine is making me go insane. She entered the story by overturning existing social structures, provoking both ire and fascination. She married into a dynasty doomed to eat itself alive. She was repeatedly associated with the supernatural, both in terms of love and death. Her life was shaped entirely by uncanny repetitions - two marriages, two widowhoods, two depositions, two flights to sanctuary, two ultimate reclamations, all paralleling and ricocheting off each other. Her plight after 1483 exposed the true rot at the heart of the monarchy - the trappings of royalty pulled away to reveal nothing, a never-ending cycle of betrayal and war, the price of power being the (literal) blood of children. She lived past the end of her family name, she lived past the end of her myth. She ended her life in a deeply anomalous position, half-in and half-out of royal society. She was both a haunting tragedy and the ultimate survivor who was finally free.

That's...A Lot.#Imho Elizabeth was THE adaptor of the Wars of the Roses - she repeatedly found herself in highly anomalous and #unprecedented situations and just had to survive and adjust every single time #But that's just...never talked about when it comes to her #There are so many aspects of her life that are potentially fascinating yet completely unexplored in scholarship or media:#Her official appointment in royal councils; her position as the first Englishwoman post the Norman Conquest to be crowned queen #and what that actually MEANT for her; an actual examination of the propaganda against her; how she both foreshadowed and set a precedent #for Henry VIII's english queens; etc #There hasn't even been a proper reassessment of her role in 1483-85 TILL DATE despite it being one of the most wildly contested #periods in medieval England #lol I guess that's what drew me to Elizabeth in the first place - there's a fundamental lack of interest or acknowledgement in what was #actually happening with her and how it may have affected her. There's SO MUCH we can talk about but historians have repeatedly #stuck to the basics - and even then not well #I guess I have more things to write about on this blog then ((assuming I ever ever find the energy)#also to be clear while the Yorkists did 'eat themselves alive' they also Won - the crisis of 1483-85 was an internal conflict within #the dynasty that was not related to the events that ended in 1471 (which resulted in Edward IV's victory)#Henry Tudor was a figurehead for Edwardian Yorkists who specifically raised him as a claimant and were the ones who supported him #specifically as the husband of Elizabeth of York (swearing him as king only after he publicly swore to marry her)#Richard's defeat at Bosworth had *nothing* to do with 'York VS Lancaster' - it was the victory of one Yorkist faction against another #But yes the traditional line of succession was broken by Richard's betrayal and the male dynastic line was ultimately extinguished.

So are the Big Bads of Junior Year going to be the Rat Grinders? AKA kids who leveled up 'the normal way' by doing a bunch of quests, grinding, taking on any enemy to get more powerful, but because of the 'luck' and 'opportunities' given to other kids (ie the Bad Kids) aren't being lauded or appreciated like they expected so they're taking it out on the Bad Kids, have taken advantage of it the summer they were gone, and are doing what they can to punish them for 'being rewarded despite failing at what's expected of them, despite actually saving the world'.

I wonder if all the members of Rat Grinders have classes that reflect those of the Bad Kids? We already know they have a rogue and a bard...

#d20 #dimension 20 #fantasy high #fantasy high junior year #this makes perfect sense to me story wise in terms of the past 2 seasons we had heightened tension and drama in the villains faced #from kalvaxas to the nightmare king to the night yorb at the beginning of this season #some pvp (even if the other ps is the dm) makes sense for a stripped back season focused more on relationship building #plus we've been missing the high school rival aspect of fantasy high this is a good focus for junior year #when you are now realizing you are in direct 'competition' with other kids for opps and positions in colleges and unis #and the rat grinders probably see the bad kids as having a leg up on everyone because they were able to save the world multiple times #and could parlay that into bright futures in any college they want like brennan hinted at in ep 3 #this season the rat grinders will try and separate the bad kids and put ultimate stress on them to break them apart or get them kicked out #getting rid of gilear to install a principal more aligned with their views #and yes i absolutely think those four yorkshire terriers in a sweatervest made it so gilear won a cruise #it's a very tracey glick thing to do

After Azran Legacy Descole was left with a lot of clothes, personal items, and various souvenir trinkets left behind by the other former passengers of the Bostonious none of which was ever properly retrieved due to the groups sudden parting.

Rather than throwing it all out Descole has been trying to covertly return all items back to their original owners and because it’s Descole he’s probably returning the objects and whatnot in the most complicated way possible over a period of time.

Auroras stuff in particular remains safely stored in a box on the Bostonious.

If there is anything that makes me wanna say "I called it" on, it's the characterization of the Daycare Attendant (Sun specifically) in Help Wanted 2. My version of Sun's personality is almost exactly like the Sun in HW2, and I made him after playing Security Breach (the only difference being he cusses and that Moon is more chill).

I deadass looked at this cheerful weirdo we barely got to see in that game and went "he is both the only adult serving cunt and the most friendly guy to ONLY children out there". And now that's CANON. He is the exact opposite of that one meme image that has "fuck them kids" on it. Sun says "fuck them adults" lmao.

it’s so funny to me how every few years hollywood will slide a picture of a pretty boy across the table to the public and they ask “will he be the next big thing?” and we take a look and say “mmm he can win an award, maybe have a franchise or a tv show, but we’re good otherwise” and slide it back because we have a movie star at home and he still works

I've been thinking about the tragedy of Elizabeth Woodville living to see the end of her family name.

I don't mean her family with her husband, which lived on through her daughter and grandson. I mean her own.

Her sisters died, one by one, many of them after 1485. When Elizabeth died, only Katherine was left, and she would die before the turn of the century as well.

All her brothers died, too. Lewis died in childhood. John was executed. Anthony was murdered. Lionel died suddenly in the peak of Richard's reign, unable to see his niece become queen. Edward perished at war. Richard died in grieving peace. For all the violence and judgement the family endured, it was "an accident of biology" that ended their line: none of the brothers left heirs, and the Woodville name was extinguished. We know the family was aware of this. We know they mourned it, too:

“Buy a bell to be a tenor at Grafton to the bells now there, for a remembrance of the last of my blood.”

Elizabeth lived through the deposition and death of her young sons, and lived to see the end of her own family name. It must have been such a haunting loss, on both sides.

#(the quote is by Richard Woodville in his deathbed will; he was the last of the Woodville brothers to die)#elizabeth woodville #woodvilles #my post #to be clear I am not arguing that the death of an English gentry family name is some kind of giant tragedy (it absolutely the fuck is not)#I'm trying to put it into perspective with regards to what Elizabeth may have felt because we know her family DID feel this way #writing this kinda reminded me of how I am just not fond at all about the way Elizabeth's experiences in 1483-85 are written about #and the way lots so many of the unprecedentedly horrifying aspects are overlooked or treated so casually:#the seizure and murder of two MINOR sons and the illegal execution of another;#her sheer vulnerability in every way compared to all her queenly predecessors; how she was harassed by 'dire threats' for months;#how she had 5 very young daughters with her to look after at the time (Bridget and Katherine were literally 3 and 4 years old);#how unprecedented Richard's treatment of her was: EW was the first queen of england to be officially declared an adulteress;#and the first and ONLY queen to be officially accused of witchcraft #(Joan of Navarre was accused of her treason; she was never explicitly accused of witchcraft on an official level like EW was)#the first crowned queen of england to have her marriage annulled; and the first queen to have her children officially bastardized #what former queens endured through rumors* were turned into horrifying realities for her.#(I'm not trying to downplay the nightmare of that but this was fundamentally on a different level altogether)#nor did Elizabeth get a trial or appeal to the church. like I cannot emphasize this enough: this was not normal for queens #and not normal for depositions. ultimately what Richard did *was* unprecedented #and of course let's not forget that Elizabeth had literally just been unexpectedly widowed like 20 days before everything happened #I really don't feel like any of this is emphasized as much as it should be?#apart from the horrifying death of her sons - but most modern books never call it murder they just write that they 'disappeared'#and emphasize that ACTUALLY we don't know what happened to them (this includes Arlene Okerlund)#rather than allowing her to have that grief (at the very least)#more time is spent dealing with accusations that she was a heartless bitch or inconsistent intriguer for making a deal with Richard instead #it also feels like a waste because there's a lot that can be analyzed about queenship and R3's usurpation if this is ever explored properly #anyway - it's kinda sad that even after Henry won and her daughter became queen EW didn't really get a break #her family kept dying one by one and the Woodville name was extinguished. and she lived to see it #it's kinda heartbreaking - it was such a dramatic rise and such a slow haunting fall #makes for a great story tho

Yeah that’s basically what happened lol I guess we all assumed tim mcgraw at the piano was the debut part of the show but it turns out there’s just two surprise songs, one with her guitar and one at the piano. Last night she did this is me trying on guitar and state of grace on piano :)

i wrote a whole tag thing in the tags of a post but then decided i didn't want to get into it where strangers were but "tru.mp won because young people didn't vote" is factually misleading anyway

#like yes a big thing about the 2020 vote (vs. 2016) was the increase in young people voting but ultimately trum/p won #because of the sitting representatives- not because of who did and didn't vote in the people's vote #in fact he lost the popular vote. by a small margin but he still lost.#(we swung a bunch of the sitting representatives in the following years as result. behold: bi/den.)#so like. yes there was an increase in young people participating but that's. not the sole statistic responsible for what happened lmao
