⚪ - what are small things that mean something to your muse
The dry scent of chalk that reminds her of one of her favorite tutors as a child, waking up before Stanna and spending a few minutes watching her wake up, her daughter's laugh - she cherishes moments above all else. She goes back to her favorites again and again, especially when she's out on business. She doesn't spend nearly as much time in the desert as she would like, even less since they began preparing for the calamity, so any memories she can make of home are precious.
🙌 - mannerisms that your muse has when they’re extremely happy

🤞 - what’s the most impulsive thing you can picture your muse doing
Already Answered
👻 - recall one or more times your muse has been the most scared or fearful
She was absolutely terrified in the week leading up to the birth of her daughter. A Gerudo pregnancy is a full year and the last few months are, as is common with bipedal mammals, Hell. Her mother had significant pregnancy complications and it was unclear as to how many of those were inherent with her and how many were because of her age (Romah was pushing forty by the time Urbosa was born, which is extremely uncommon). She'd been told all her life about how difficult her mother's pregnancy and birth were, and even though the pregnancy wasn't as bad as she'd been warned about, she didn't know what would happen to the nation if she passed away during labor.
To add context, Urbosa had only been chieftain for six months or so and it had been a rocky start. Many tribeswomen, especially the elders remembered Urbosa from her teen years as reckless and impulsive, and though she'd steered them through a few disasters, many were still skeptical about her ability to rule, as well as her choice in wife. Urbosa couldn't stand to think about what would happen if Stanna had to rule as regent until their daughter grew up, if only because the ever-present fear of revolt was strong in her mind.
It all worked out in the end, luckily, but that last week of false starts to labor, sleepless nights, and drafting and redrafting what needed to happen in the event that she passed away took an enormous toll on her.
💢 - what would cause your muse to be annoyed
His name is King Roahm. It actually takes quite a lot to get under her skin. The worst common annoyance she deals with is foreign bureaucracy. She's intimately familiar with how Gerudo politics work, but it seems to her that every time she steps into Hyrule they've added a new step to passing a law and it drives her absolutely mad, even from afar.
On a more personal level, she hates having to sit back and watch a loved one or friend be mistreated, even for a common goal. She has a very strong sense of justice and generally has the power to act on it, so being forced to watch wrongdoing and stay mum is torture. Yes I'm talking about Roahm again.
👍 - what are your muse’s good traits?
As mentioned above, Urbosa's sense of Justice as a leader and person is a great strength. She is intensely hands-on and makes a point to never ask someone to do what she herself wouldn't, even going so far as to be on the front lines during battle. She is a very caring and accepting parent, a loyal and affectionate lover, and brings passion to all she is responsible for. She's also strongly charismatic, understands how to take a peaceful approach to diplomacy, and possesses a strong curiosity towards outside cultures.

We came to a young world. We came to a world of raw, elemental wonder. Of chaos and exultant passion. Of energy vaster, and more potent than anything we beheld in the cosmos... It doesn’t seem like it’s random or chaos. It just seemed like potential.

Never did I expect myself to be mourning the absence of english essays and writing exams and theatre class critiques. Do you understand how fucking amazing of a grade I could get on an analysis of trauma in Critical Role? On Lou Wilson and Emily Axford's finesse in portraying the heavy expectations and double standards placed on children? On Ylfa Snorgelsson's relationship to death? On the journey of a man's relationship to violence? On an analysis of grief in Dimension 20? On the pitfalls of youth? On the dynamic between humanity and religion? On the journey of self-discovery and acceptance? On love in all its forms? On the nature of choice? On everything Brennan Lee Mulligan has to say about capitalism? On the tragedy of im/mortality? On Gerard and Elody's divorce? On the unfeeling and aimless happenstance of the universe? On the role of fate and destiny? I'm not saying it would be easy. I'm saying can you imagine how fucking cool it would have been to turn in 5 pages about a dnd show, feeling good about it?

So Loquatius was introduced as a guy not only changing his face, but also the truth, to benefit his own narrative and the people in power. In the end, he’s the one who gave the truth to the people, and allowed them to be saved, at the cost of those in power.
Nydas was introduced as a merchant, accumulating riches and gold. In the end, he’s the one who stopped the saving of that wealth and materials so that the people could live.
Cerrit was introduced as an overworked detective, constantly planning and thinking, at the cost of knowing his family. In the end, he gave everything he had, left his friends to die just for the chance that maybe he could see his family again.
Patia was introduced as a keeper of many secrets, constantly seeking more knowledge because that is where she gets her influence and power over this city. In the end, she’s the one who gave the knowledge necessary to not only save the world, but also make sure that what happened would forever be remembered.
Zerxus was introduced as a paladin filled with doubts and contempt for a city he refused to call home. In the end, he put his fate in the hands of people he never fully trusted, and gave more than his life to save a city he never really loved.
And Laerryn, introduced as the one who would doom the city, the world, with ideas bigger than what even the Age of Arcanum could handle. Laerryn, who sacrificed everything for her work, her legacy. In the end, she gave away the work of her life, her legacy, and her life, to make sure that Exandria would survive the Calamity.
The Calamity was introduced as the day the world was doomed and fell. In the end, the first day of the Calamity was the day Exandria was saved.

It's only just now clicked for me that all the despicable horrors Sukuna drags Yuuji through time and again, all the feats of grand, unseen violence he puts up just for Yuuji, all the heinous atrocities and pain he inflicts on Yuuji -- they actually carry an inkling of something strategical, coldly calculated. Don't get me wrong, doing all that Sukuna clearly enjoys himself, his rampage in Shibuya sizzling with euphoria of finally getting to move freely, unshackled, and in the end that is the very nature of a curse -- cause suffering for the sake of suffering and feast upon it. But Sukuna, perhaps rather oddly, doesn't strike me as someone who would hold petty grudges and act upon them spitefully. Especially in regard to someone like Yuuji, who Sukuna considers little different from the filth beneath his feet and doesn't hesitate to make it known. So why even bother hating something so insignificant, miniscule? Why spare an effort to make this particular life miserable when suffering is already inherent to human condition? And while I'm at it, here's one more question, perhaps more on point with what I'm trying to say: why retreat of your own free will to the state of entrapment and give up the reins of control so soon after they fell into your hands?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Back to the point I started this rambling with, it seems to me that in the chaos Sukuna causes there is calculation. I think he's trying to do to Yuuji what he did in the end to Megumi -- crash this boy's beating heart and drown his soul. Sukuna's actions appear pointed, aware of the effect they make, targeted directly at that very thing which would hurt Yuuji the most, thus pushing him to the breaking point. Countless casualties, pointless bloodshed and utter devastation -- all to crack Yuuji's resistance, to eliminate the ability to fight back in a boy who was careless enough to wear his heart out on his sleeve in a world that grinds the kind down and spits out their bones.
But the darker the weather, the better the man. Where every other human being would break, Yuuji stands unyielding. The more is taken away from him, the more reasons he has to keep fighting. When the only sacrifice he could ever accept was his own, he lost too much. So he ploughs on -- because that's the only way he can pay the unfathomably high cost of him being alive. And for all his experience and cunning wit, Sukuna's miscalculated with this one: he cannot destroy Yuuji's heart for it was never Yuuji's to keep. He gave it away a long time ago. It beats with other people's pulse.

after knowing the whole story of Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom, I still can't believe Nintendo really went for the Princess and the Knight trope

I think what's the most buckwild to me is that the arguments for hearing Ludinus out are often near identical to the ones during Calamity going, "We should listen to Asmodeus! He's right, the prime deities are the real villains!"
And it's like, even aside from the fact that both Asmodeus and Ludinus are demonstrable, canonically-supported, manipulative liars, I'm sitting here looking at them like, "This argument wasn't borne out or vindicated during Calamity either!" Asmodeus was absolutely, doubtlessly the villain of that story! In fact, virtually everyone—down to Vespin Chloras, the most depraved, reviled mortal figure of the Calamity—looked far better at the end of that series than they had at the start, except Asmodeus, who was the character that all of these arguments insisted would be proven correct by the end.
Zerxus Ilerez doesn't have a grave to roll in but he is without a doubt doing backflips in hell.

not to dive back into my apparently controversial video game opinions but the "they probably left out nigh all references to botw to not confuse new players" argument for totk really confuses me in turn bc …
if an overgrown non functioning botw shrine confuses you so much you cant keep playing how are you ever getting through any video game?? if you are not familiar with botw its just part of the environment for you, a fallen apart titan or a half collapsed shrine of life with a cave now leading somewhere else shouldnt completely confuse you-
but mainly ... this is (supposedly................) a direct sequel to botw, a literal second part, if you dont play the first one and just get into the second one you cant blame it on anyone but yourself for not understanding some things? like if totk actually built on what botw set up and you get into totk without having played the first one you really have no right to be angry about being confused by some things its like if you start watching a series with the second season instead of the first one, your own darn fault if you dont get it (also theres plenty of people who summarize video games for you so you could also jsut watch one of those if you really really dont want to play the first one)
if this is really the reason nintendy forcibly bent everything in totk to not dare have a proper connection to botw then ... im sorry but why the heck did you call it a sequel then, if you want to have a standalone game then make a standalone game, and if you want to reuse the map and models so badly then just say its some paralel universe or something, you have literally done that before!!
