How do these people lie so much and honestly believe their ship is real Stormy? How many things are even correct here? As far as i can tell the only correct thing is that Jk said Tae listened to Seven first. Everything else is either a straight up lie, mistranslation or something taken out of context. How do they not get it? I just saw this post and i honestly don’t understand how taekookers don’t get it. Jk tells V he would like for them to ride together and the first thing V says is “why?”💀. Then Jungkook goes ahead to say he just wants to ride with hyung🥹 and then V says no and later says. “I feel like there is a reason”. Doesn’t anyone with a brain automatically understand just from this conversation that there is no way in hell these two are a couple? Why would ur boyfriend say he wants to ride together and you ask why? Plus V’s reaction clearly shows that he isn’t used to riding with Jk or used to Jk asking for them to ride together UNLESS there is a reason💀. Kinda reminds me of how when they were rookies, Jk picked V as the member he would like to share a room with and when he was asked why, he said so that they could play games all night. Compare this to him saying that Jimin is his all nighter buddy and that most nights, it’s just two of them together doing “something” and apparently he doesn’t even know what they do🤨. Notice how with Jimin he doesn’t need a reason to want to be with him at nights but he clearly says him wanting to share a room with V is mainly so they can play games at night. And then when you think about Jimin saying that Jk comes to knock on his hotel room door at 1am and stays in there for about 4hours at a time “doing nothing”. Can you remember how shocked Tae and all the other members were in “Let’s BTS” when they thought Jk’s letter was for Tae? Tae looked so shocked like he knew Jk would never write to him and ofcourse, jk asked him to pass the letter to Hobi. But compare that to Jin and Tae being very sure that Jimin’s letter was for Jungkook and that it was going to be something “touching”. Also reminds me of winter package 2019 (i think) where Jk gives Tae that present. Tae looked so surprised like Jk was doing something he wasn’t used to. I mean i can get that look of surprise and joy when someone actually surprises you but the look of being shocked at someone doing something you didn’t expect them to do cuz they never do it, is different and that was the look on Tae’s face. Hey Rain, I hope you're doing well. I’d love to hear your thoughts on Yoongi’s letter to TaeKook amidst the disbandment talks from 2018. Honestly, when something keeps coming up repeatedly, I start to wonder if there's a larger narrative at play, and that’s why I’m reaching out. Thanks!

In general, I think the stories that we hear repeatedly are to convey how BTS functions as a group.. and more specifically how close they are and how they manage to function and grow as a group and individually. Rainy day is an example of Jk going too far and learning to temper himself and Jm forgiving him easily. Dumpling fight is an example of Jm and Tae clashing due to high stress levels (and their characters and same age) and how they came to understand each other better and speaking out their support for each other. Jin and Tae fighting is an example of seeing each other’s limitations and being able to work through that respectfully. Hobi and Jk and the fruit basket is an example of Jk learning to not be selfish.

I think if you take out the Tkk of it all, this is shared a few times because it shows connection and support from Hyungline (through Yoongi) to Tae and Jk.. again pulling the members closely together during a time of great distress.

Other repetitive stories that fall slightly in this category would be Jk choosing to be with BTS because of Namjoon. Jk sleeping next to Hobi when he wanted to leave. Probably more.. but this is from the top of my mind.

I believe all those things are true. I think those moments have been chosen as ‘token stories’ because they did actually pull them together more… and they are safe to tell. We’d never hear about the moments things didn’t work out that easily.. and i find it likely those moments exist. They have gone through harsher things than these arguments. I do think the Yoongi text was one of their rawest times. With them actually having disbanded almost. I think Tae and Jk were a unit in this and the text Yoongi sent was specifically to put their minds at ease. It is not for nothing that Jk kinda stepped out of character when he hugged Tae at Mama.

So yeah, I do think there’s a larger narrative at play. I also think that narrative is close to the truth, but leaving out the parts that are unsuitable or deemed unfit to share.

I make an exception for Tae and Jk and their narrative of having grown distant. That is the one thing that to me is pointedly false and proven to be false. But then again, Tae and Jk being in a relationship gives reason for that exception to be likely. Companies love working with things that are real.. playing into strengths and only needing to polish or enlarge certain things. Tae and Jk went from being a strength to being a risk though.. and that risk was cause for drastic measures. You can tell from the ITS talk that they tried to do what they normally do with members having issues. Adress it, and end on a positive note of ‘having worked through things and being closer’.. but their mistake here is that Tae and Jk were always close.. and people who knew that saw that what they were saying did not match what they saw. When you force things they look unnatural.

Don't get me wrong but when jkk's enlistmemt news hit the tl i saw only the same 3 big army accts talk about how big that is all others were busy making their typical tweets plus "how dare you separate vmin", "how dare you separate taekook", "return hobi his jm back" like okay i get the sentiment but where is anyone acknowledging the fact that jkk will be together? nowhere. saw few About jikook having jin to guide them but there was nothing specific for jkk ever acknowledged. but given the fandom's record it's nothing surprising how they hardly would acknowledge jikook's moments like that.

Idk how it looks from outside cause I'm quite a jkkr (not the one who belives they're dating cause i personally don't think so but yeah they're my bias) so for me it indeed seems important for them. if we look at all these yrs of jm providing comfort to jungkook, how jungkook would chose jm as the hyung that gives him comfort the most, and how jm would always say that he feels protected and comfortable around jungkook their decision makes sense. tbh the news was a shock to me cause i like other jkkrs always thought jm would enlist months before jk's MS so it was shocking. But if you know the history then it shouldn't surprise you.

Jkkrs say not even military can keep them apart and if you think then they haven't been apart from eachother for longer since the time the first met. not saying haven't been apart enjoying their time with other ppl cause they did but they somehow always want to be present in eachother's business lol. Even when they left the dorm jkk were one the members who left it last when some members left it early. This was the time where they definitely could have taken break from being around same ppl all the time yet they said nope.

They're also the only idols that come up when you search for "idols that have used Buddy program" so it is interesting. Other members do casually shows up here n there post things yet we Hardly hear from them both. willingly choosing to go to frontline because you're using buddy prgrm is also something. I'd rather let my fate decide where i land my training in sk than willingly go to the dangerous part of borders. but if i had the chance to do my MS with the person who is my emotional support and is my comfort I'll take it in a sec.

I don't think we'll ever get the proper in depth answer to the question, maybe they'll say that since they're the ones with tattoes they decided to go together. i mean even if tattoed there's many options open for them, far well than the frontline and as you said saying (them telling us) they needed most emotional support wont look good on them so i know they won't be too deep with their answer. They're too private like that.

Just to put it out there, I am army, so I’m pretty deep in the trenches of Jikook. I don’t know if I think they’re dating with 100% certainty, but I am someone who doesn’t understand why people think it’s impossible. They grew up together, work together, and clearly really enjoy each other's company seemingly more than they do their other members. That obviously doesn’t equal romance, but acting like assuming they’re together is gross or ridiculous, it’s stupid. People date their friends and coworkers every single day. Celebrities more than anyone else, so why would presumed queer people be any different?

As for the rest, I’m glad you liked what I said! You also seem to be the only person who really got what I was trying to say. It’s clear JM and JK care deeply for each other and find comfort in one another, so them choosing the buddy system makes sense on the surface, but it doesn’t really explain anything. Which they aren’t obligated to do, but them making such a choice is a big deal when they had other options. So why make such a serious choice? What was the catalyst, when their friendships with other members are equally as important to them? What was it about their bond that caused them to decide, “We can’t do this alone like the rest of them. We have to do this together.”

Was it just them being close friends? Was it mental health related? Was it romance related? Was it work related? We’ll never know. We just know they’ve always been there for each other, and enlistment didn’t change that, no matter the missing (for us) context.

To your last anon, I always thought that hybe would have loved to monetize on tk's huge clout together if that didn't posit a risk( they are a corporation it's all about clout and money) i know people think differently as in them being shown together wouldn't have been risky but if they were the official company ship the ppl who like them as a couple would have been the triple than they are now, that means more people paying attention to them in that context, more ppl who wants to find something more, just like jikookers do, the difference? Jikookers won't find anything ever bc there's nothing to find, they are friends and bandmates, so them being the official company ship is as safe as it can be, tk's case is not the same.

Now it's funny bc the moment the tae//nnie bs started I told my friend that we probably could except a bit more of tk content coming from the company and I wasn't disappointed lmao, this is my view: thanks to that rouse Tae is seen by the world as a straight man who was/is (many locals dont even know about the break up news)in a relationship with a female idol and that also takes off legitimacy from the ppl who noticed stuff about him and his bandmate, it's just shippers delusions, even many ppl who suspected tk left the wagon after that.

So yeah I think hybe can afford to slightly show them more and monetize (and that also includes aiming to not lose much of the many different demographics that "consume" the BTS members during their absence and shippers are part of the this) that compared to before and still in a very controlled way, there is a bit of a risk mitigation with this companies' pushed rumor which is of course still not enough and hence the still controlled bc the risk is still present and as you said we have to take into account tk themselves, their priority is protecting what's important to them too, if you see the most content from the company we have seen of them together lately is just them being close (which they always were);and supporting each other, nothing super big or elaborated, not them putting on a show or being put on a show or anything, the only reason is noteworthy and has jikookers crying is bc years ago even that was something that wasn't shown (eg burn the stage etc).

I have a lot more opinions on the company's way of moving but I'm keeping it short 🫶

There are so many interesting layers to the way the company deals with Taekook, and to how the fandom perceives and feels about them. Where a lot of Taekookers think they've been too extreme in underselling or undermining their bond in official content, I don't think it's been quite as bad as most do. They still get featured quite a bit, I mean BV and In the Soop have shown us some classic Taekook moments. And they did start out capitalizing on that, the Bon Voyage cuddle was teased in promo images and then eventually included in bonus content. That moment making it into official content still blows my mind. I think it's a pretty intimate moment, I've gone over the clip so many times and believe there are kisses exchanged. It's wild. But 2016 is where the most noticeable shift happened. At the same time, I have also felt they do a little too much at times with the editing and it results in some weirdness, and that because heteronormativity covers for _a lot_ they could probably get away with showing more. That bias is so strong and engrained in everyone. But you make a great point about there being an added inherent risk for something that would need to be hidden, even if it's something most people would brush off. Like I've said before, I'm not a fan of the company for many reasons but if what they're doing is what they actually think is the best way of protecting them it's easily understandable. This got a bit long, apologies.

I did read, yes.

I'm a little confused by how it changes anything, as Rain says.

First off, I never thought they were forced into buddy system for timing of the reunion. I've always known they were choosing that.

Timing surely still plays a part in when JK enlisted. Age wise, he went in earlier than the rest of them. I believe if he went at the last possible moment (28) like the rest of them, they'd all be out in 2025 and he'd be going in. Then you have BTS without JK and that isn't what they want.

But I think the issue being discussed is why JK and Jimin took buddy system if it was a choice? So here's some thoughts on why that might be:

1. They wanted to. I'm putting this first because I just know some jkkr is lurking to catch me out and complain that I didn't consider this the most likely option. They're friends. Why not?

2. Jimin is close to Taemin who had a very bad experience. Perhaps he wanted to go in with someone. Why couldn't that be Tae or Joonie? Well my understanding is that Tae was determined to do SDT and Namjoon is pursuing a leadership role of sorts. Maybe Jimin didn't want either of those things. Maybe locations weren't right for him.

3. Maknae stuff. Jungkook being younger? Maybe wanted a buddy? See above for why that couldn't be Namjoon or Tae. (Plus other potential things preventing it being Tae)

4. JK did want to do SDT as he mentioned in that last group live but circumstances prevented it. So he went with Jimin with whom he has always been close.

5. Jimin and JK seemed most reluctant of all of them. To this day, I can't watch their last lives without crying because they both just seem so sad. They didn't seem to see it as an opportunity to do new things like Tae or to utilise their natural leadership qualities like Joonie. They just seemed to want to do it quick and quiet. I might want a friend through that.

6. Maybe cooking was always JK's plan. Maybe someone more knowledgeable can enlighten but I feel like nobody is turning up to enlistment day one with no idea what their options are? It's entirely possible, if not a certainty, JK had some idea of what he wanted to do based on his skillset. Having muscles doesn't mean your entire focus is physical achievement. That's a disservice to JK to paint him as a perfect little Hercules. Maybe he wanted to cook.

If the rumoured (and logical) schedule of the kitchen staff is accurate, if the rumoured (and logical) sleeping arrangements for the kitchen staff are right, maybe JK doesn't actually spend every waking second glued to Jimin's side and maybe that was an arrangement that appealed to him ie; Having a friend there but having his own space too. If the post about JK spending his days with a smaller tight knit group he could trust was true, maybe that appealed to him too.

So... Yeah it changes nothing for me because I never even considered they didn't choose it in the first place.

I'm still absolutely grossed out by the romanticising of their time in the military and the implication that if they chose to go together, it debunks Taekook. How?! "It's okay we'll bring the food over to the coffee table sweetheart." He kissed my forehead then walked back to Tae. I started the anime and they both brought over the food. Kook handed me my bowl of ramen and I drooled so hard seeing it. I started chowing down the noodles so fast. "Hey easy princess you're going to mess up your tummy." Kook said. Tae giggled at me. "He isn't wrong baby. take it easy." I nodded and calmed down. I started laughing at the show and so did they at times during the anime. I started falling asleep watching it because they both were cuddling me. Next thing I knew I was knocked. Tae and Kook both notice the sleeping girl between them and Jungkook picked me up bridal style which woke me up a little because I never really liked being lifted off of the ground. "Wha-what happened? Did... I fall as- *Yawns* asleep?" Kook and Tae giggle at the cuteness of me being tired even though I disagree with them. "Yeah princess you fall asleep." Kook said. "We're going to bed now." Tae spoke. I nodded and snuggled into Kook's neck. I felt his heartbeat pick up and him smile. We got to the bedroom door and he gently placed me on my bed and then I whined from the lack of warmth. Tae was the first one in bed because kook needed the bathroom first. I find it weird how people really want jikook to reveal their realness or for Jimin or Jk to give a clear indication of their relationship when even Taennie is not held to such a high standard. And that's Taennie being a completely "normal" relationship in the eyes of Koreans.

There's one thing that always comes to my mind when I watch Vminkook's live, the one when Jimin mentioned that Jungkook often comes to his room. You know Jimin is a very smart person, he once said everything has a reason. Everything he did or said has purpose and meaning, especially on live where they have to be much more careful with their words and actions than usual, they have to double think before talking. I watched all of Jimin's lives and he rarely mention JK, if so, it's because of fan comments or the story he told is related to JK. That live was the only time that he mentioned his closeness with JK on live, not once but three times. He said they exercise together every day, they ate chicken together, JK often comes to JM's room 3 times a day. Taehyung already knows it all. I think he wanted to target a specific audience, those people Jimin knows they don't believe in his closeness with Jungkook. That's Taekookers. He knows there are people putting down Jikook's relationship, he knows some of them are watching this live. Those people are the ones who wanted JK to come to Taehyung's live and Jimin came instead. In Jimin's own lives, they don't watch it so Jimin has no reason to mention Jikook. Just in this live, Jimin knows he needs to say things that some people need to know.

I have heard 3 theories about this live that I'm inclined to agree with

JK did not want to come. Taekook were on the road to mending what was broken but were not there yet and JK didn't want to come. So Jimin showed up instead because he knew if he's there JK will indeed come. Which he did.

2) There was alot loud hate for the Jikook bond happening during this time which like u said could have been the reason why Jimin talked so much about them. Said things that proved just how close they are.

3) Due to the large amount of Jikook hate, this live (all 3) wanted to show just how close Jikook actually were and how okay they were with eo.

I hadn't been around long enough during this time to speak on how the fandom was acting towards Jikook but these theories seem to get thrown about and I think they're plausible, yeah.

Right, I used to see taekooker's posts and comments and I would think, "yikes, these people are delusional as hell!" 😂 That's why I get when people think we're delusional because I used to be one of those them. I think the fact that shipping is so common and so many shippers believe their ship is real automatically makes you think that there's no possible way one of them could actually be real.

What made their relationship so undeniable for me was when I put everything together. A questionable moment here and a suspicious moment there isn't such a big deal when you're looking at them individually, but when I put all of those moments together it just became so overwhelmingly obvious to me that there was actually something going on between them. It couldn't all be a coincidence. Just their behaviour alone was enough to raise questions for me. People act like we're just seeing what we want to see, but it's really not that hard to recognise signs of attraction, flirting, tension, jealousy, etc, in other people.

And yeah, JK basically dismissing Tae at first in the comments because he had something important to say to army watching was funny as fuck and nothing short of what I expected from something related to them.
