I like to think that Leo one day decides to really play around with his portaling and teleportation abilities and see the full extent of them.
Like - continuously throwing one sword and teleporting to it while throwing the next one immediately and repeating this as long as he can to see how far he can keep it up without stopping.
Making little portals in the air that lead right up against the ground so he could potentially just stand on the portal in the middle of the sky.
Ultimate storage system - anything anywhere at any time is available if he knows where to get it (personally my headcanon for why he goes from two satchels to one in the movie.)
Phasing to avoid attacks - like, he could lightly toss a sword a single centimeter and teleport to it, and in that short amount of time he can completely avoid hits.
If they ever do go to space and end up on different planets, with enough training he can just…go there, whenever. Not only would this be great for being well traveled and having more places to go in general, but this also opens up more room for connections and allies that could assist them the next time they need help against a grand foe.
Leo can easily remove injured team members from a fight and get them help without having to account for transportation times.
On that note - Leo’s teleportation in particular acts on a particle level. It’s quite literally breaking him down into particles and remaking him every time he uses it. Both for him and for anyone he uses it on. Who’s to say it can’t be used for healing? At least for basic wounds.
None of this even touches upon the offensive potential of both portals and teleportation. Leo’s abilities flourish more as a support main, but that doesn’t mean those abilities can’t easily be used as weapons - and I don’t think I need to get into how exactly they can be. Portal chopping alone can take on a very different meaning…
Furthermore, I gotta wonder if he’ll always need the swords for this, or if he could one day be able to achieve the same results without them.
My point being - teleportation and portals are super OP. Even with the abilities Leo has in present they are so unbelievably adaptable and so fun to think about in terms of basic mechanics.
#rottmnt#rise of the teenage mutant ninja turtles#rottmnt leo#rottmnt headcanons#rise leo#I LOVE teleportation and portals and it’s one of the things that instantly latched me onto Leo#man I didn’t even touch upon how cool the potential for combining the bros abilities would be#that would be another post entirely#but yeah portals and teleportation#ESPECIALLY teleportation are so crazily adaptive and can be used for an insane amount of things if applied correctly#all the boys’ abilities laugh in the face of physics and reality#now I’m wondering if teleporting with someone else and THEN going through a portal WHILE TELEPORTING would mess with both of them#like…the Krang right?#Leo teleported them both through an open portal#wonder how that could mess with them on a particle level hmmmm especially considering the place the Prison Dimension is HMMMM#EDIT: YEAH SOMEONE ELSE MENTIONED IT#but yeah them being hesitant to rely too much on these abilities in battle after the Krang makes sense#BUT#out of battle…now we’re talking#ngl out of battle mystics can be even more fun because they’re just pushing themselves and not being life and death about it#okay I’m gonna go further but consider the potential for transporting massive objects like VEHICLES too#like he could teleport the whole turtle tank or more in that case#and just think of the potential for space travel that could have#okay I’m stopping now#ACTUALLY NO IM NOT#consider Leo being able to stay in the in between of a portal#making it a little space he can access and stay in if he needs a moment alone#the dangers that could amount from it too tho like#godddd the possibilities#I don’t have enough tags to ramble as much as I want to :(

a/n: i can't believe I actually posted this on time. i hope you guys like it!
Part One Part Two Part Three Part Four
Atticus leans against a tree, his hands in his pockets as he gives the wood nymphs a smirk that made you want to throw up. The three girls that stand in front of him giggle, nudging his shoulder playfully at something he said. You couldn't hear much from afar, but you doubt it was that funny, the girls just entertaining him because he's handsome or whatever. You scoff softly under your breath, turning away and sharing a look with Lou Ellen, who's scratching the backs of Ambrose's ears. The two of you rolling your eyes simultaneously before you turn on your heels.
While talking amongst themselves, your older brothers are huddled together, the three of them with furrowed eyebrows, serious stares seemingly deep in conversation. As Ernest takes a moment to look up from their circle, you meet his gaze. You don't fail to notice the nervous smile he gives you as he lightly jabs Alabaster in the ribs with his elbow. Furrowing your eyebrows, your steps become hesitant as Alabaster halts mid-sentence, his scowl fading into a friendly smile.
“What’s up?” You ask hesitantly. It was clear you had interrupted something. James and Ernest look at Alabaster, waiting for him to respond to your question. Alabaster shakes his head,
“Nothing. What happened? Got bored of watching your brother flirt with the wood nymphs?” He jokes with you, and you smile, willing to look past the strange tension between them.
“Not bored, more like I couldn’t stand it anymore,” you say, making your brothers chuckle.
“Dude’s got game,” Ernest nods proudly as he shrugs. You cringe,
“Gross.” Lou Ellen giggles as she joins you, her arms wrapping around yours. “Anyways, what are we doing to pass time today?”
Capture the flag was probably one of the activities you hated most at camp. Especially when you were playing on the same side as the Ares Cabin. None of you were strong sword fighters or archers, only relying on your powers in battle and this deemed you guys as not useful by Clarisse’s standards. This meant you and your siblings were always stationed at the same side of the forest where you rarely got any action.
Alabaster hums, his hands shoved in his pockets, “I was actually thinking that we should take over the game,” he suggests, and your eyes widen in surprise.
“What? Clarisse will lose her mind if we meddle with the game.” You really didn’t want to deal with her. Because of the run-ins you've had with her in the past, you preferred to stay out of her way because then, for the most part, she’ll stay out of yours. You were slow to anger, but when you got riled up about something, you raged. And in terms of Clarisse, she just knew how to get you there. Alabaster rolls his eyes,
"Yeah, well, we always lose because Clarisse takes the same approach every time. She has us tossed to the side as if we're useless. I'm serious; let’s prove ourselves. You can get the flag, Y/n. Take down Percy, and we'll cover you."
You shift, exchanging looks with your brothers. Not only were you surprised at Alabaster wanting to jump in the game, but he was also assigning you the task of taking down the other team's main defense. Alabaster was hands down your most powerful sibling at camp. Though you didn’t have a cabin, there was an unspoken agreement that he was the representative of the Hecate children. He’s been studying the longest and has taught you almost everything you know. You weren’t sure why he was putting you out there when he could do a better job at trapping Percy. Though Alabaster has praised you for being a quick learner and dedicated to your studies, you didn’t quite see the potential he obviously saw in you.
"I don't know… me against Percy? I don't think I'm the best one to put out there," you gradually begin mumbling your words as Alabaster’s face hardens at your self-doubt. He scoffs, looking off into the forest as he shakes his head,
"You’re more powerful than you think, Y/n. What is he gonna do? Splash you?" You gawk at him, not sure if he was discrediting Percy's powers or if he was truly ignorant to what he could do. You haven't seen Percy do much in person, but from the stories you've heard about what he's done on his quests, you couldn't act like he wasn't powerful. Your brother’s chuckle at what Alabaster said, and Ernest nods,
“You got this, Y/n. Remember, our powers are almost limitless; it all depends on up here,” he says as he taps your forehead with his index finger softly. “Your mind can be your sidekick or your downfall.”
You smile at the reminder and nod. Your siblings have always been your biggest motivators when it came to your magic. There are only 8 of you, so you guys are a tight-knit group, always encouraging each other to excel in your abilities.
Though you guys are all around the same age, you look up to your brothers the most. Alabaster, Ernest, and James are the most knowledgeable ones out of the bunch. They were usually the ones giving demonstrations of spells and potions, passing you notes from their book of shadows. James taught you and Atticus how to control your magic when you were angry, Alabaster taught you most of your defense magic, and Ernest just had a way of being able to lift everyone's spirits. They believed in you, you all believed in each other, and you couldn’t ask for a better family.
Still, with their words of praise and advice, you were still hesitant about going head to head with Percy. You didn’t want to disappoint them, though, not wanting to seem scared or weak.
“Okay, fine." Your siblings chatter excitedly, Alabaster smiling proudly as he pats your shoulder.
“Atticus!” Alabaster shouts, interrupting whatever your brother was saying to the wood nymphs.
“Yeaah?”
“Come over here.” Alabaster chuckles as Atticus's shoulders slump. He looks at the girls he was talking to, smiling at them before dismissing himself.
“What is it? I was on a roll,” he says, playfully annoyed.
“They’re sending me out as bait,” you say dramatically as you frown. Atticus furrows his eyebrows,
“Uh, what?” You laugh at his reaction, Alabaster side-eyeing you with a smile on his own face.
“What she means is she’s going to take down Percy, and we’re gonna handle the guys around the flag. James, Ernest, and I are gonna shadow travel as far as we can, which is maybe a little before their last line of defense, okay? You, Lou Ellen, Sage, and Alice are gonna deal with the Apollo kids,” he says, the 7 of you listening attentively. You shift on your feet; head cocked to the side as you raise your hand.
“Yes?”
“If you guys can shadow travel closer to the flag, why don’t you guys end the game?”
“Because it’ll piss Clarisse off even more if it's you,” James smirks, and your jaw drops,
“Oh, now, you’re really throwing me into the line of fire, huh?” Your face is straight as your siblings laugh, and you cross your arms over your chest. “I don’t know why you guys are laughing. I don’t find this very funny,” you retort, looking away to hide your smile. You couldn’t deny that you wanted to see Clarisse’s reaction when she realizes it was you who got the flag.
“When you have the flag, and it’s time to run back to the pond, you have to become ethereal,” Alabaster says, and you blink,
“What?! I just learned how to do that! And I did it at night,” you say, a little panicked. “I don’t know if I can hold it for long and-”
“You’ll do it,” Alabaster cuts you off, and you take a step back as Ambrose whines in displeasure. He definitely wasn’t giving you a choice, and it bothered you. You were grateful for his belief in you, but you really hated how nonchalant he was, considering you could get hurt. “Ready?” He asks the rest of the group, moving on from your concern and your jaw clenches. You feel unprepared, but it seems like it didn’t matter, so you didn’t bother saying anything else.
“Whatever,” you mumble, and you walk past your siblings, your familiar trotting close behind you. Before you disappear in the trees, you hear Atticus say something about not being sure if you should go out there alone before Alabaster shuts him down.
It didn’t take you long to arrive near the pond. Dodging the twigs and leaves on the forest ground, you get as close as you can, hiding behind a tree. You cautiously peek over the side to see if Percy was by the pond as he usually was and to your surprised, the pond is unguarded. You consider making a run for it but something about this felt too easy. Why wouldn't he be at the pond? A high-pitched whine comes from Ambrose’s lips, snapping you out of your thoughts and you quietly shush him, not wanting to get caught.
“Looking for me?” A familiar voice says, and you turn around fast finding Percy a few feet from you, his sword up and ready. The Percy you were met with in the past week or so always had this friendly glint to him. But right now, his eyes were clouded with determination. You feel your heart beating hard in your chest, but you maintain a pretty good poker face as you pull the dagger that’s strapped to your thigh in one motion.
You were by no means a strong sword fighter. Like everyone else, you attended a few classes initially, but it didn’t take you long to realize it wasn’t your domain. It didn’t come as natural for you as the other campers, and you hated when you weren’t good at something right away. After many defeats, you gave up, deciding you’ll excel in your magic so you can depend on it instead.
Your strategy was to go head to head with Percy with your abilities, not like this. Before you could adjust your plan, Percy makes the first move, lunging toward you. His movements were fast and strong, and you were struggling to keep up from the start. You grunt as you manage to defend his attacks, not confident enough to go for a hit because you weren’t sure of your timing. You had to think fast. There was no way you'd be able to win in this sword fight. So you did the last thing he'd expect, you ran away.
"Hey!" Percy calls after you, and you can hear the confusion in his voice. He looks around, not sure if this was some way to distract him or if you really gave up on the fight.
You turn around when you’re about 10 feet from him and you quickly shove your dagger into its casing. Electric green orbs form at the palms of your hands, and you swallow as concentrate on the tug in your gut. Your eyes meet Percy’s, the other now understanding what you were doing once he sees you form the orbs in your hands. He smiles, accepting the challenge as he caps his sword before shoving it in his pocket. His fingers spread out, his arm extended on his sides. He takes a deep breath as he channels his energy, and before you could send out your first attack, you see the water from the pond behind him rising in a thick controlled stream.
As he sends the stream right to you, you felt like everything went in slow motion. Your pulse is loud in your ears, and you focus on your energy, grunting loudly as you send out a thick green beam right at his water. You squint your eyes as you feel droplets splashing on your face from where your magic met his stream. There is a loud hissing in the air as the intense heat from your energy evaporates the water on impact. You’re out of breath by the time Percy retreats, his eyes darkening as he formulates another plan to attack.
Not letting him muster something stronger than what he did before, you begin throwing energy orbs at his feet rapidly, watching the heat burn the grass as Percy jumps back every time.
You had a new plan now, and as ridiculous as it sounded, a part of it was to get him in the pond. Most people would want to get him away from the water, but that would be too easy of a solution, and he’d be expecting that strategy. You had decided that you had to use his powers against him. Just as you planned, Percy eventually jumps into the water with a cocky smirk and you bite your lip. Don’t mess this up.
You close your eyes, feeling a tug in your core as you imagine yourself teleporting behind Percy. When you open them, you’re met with the back of his head, and before he can look around for you, you kick him behind the knees hard. He groans, falling forward into the water.
"Sorry!" You mumble as you jump out of the pond. The water begins to rise around him, and with the most confident voice you can muster, you shout,
“Incantare: Conglacio!" Your arms spread up in front of you, toward the pond. Almost immediately, the water that was risen suddenly becomes frozen solid around Percy. He grunts as he tries to move, quickly realizing that he was trapped in the ice from the knee down. You weren't sure of the extent of Percy's control over water, and you take into consideration that he may be able to change the temperature of it, but you don't wait to find out.
You speed past the pond, Ambrose racing after you, and he barks loudly. Not wanting to make the mistake of ignoring his warnings, you look up and you see campers from the Apollo cabin settled on the branches already pulling back their arrows.
“Where are they?” You mutter, hearing the whooshing noise of the bows being released. Anger and annoyance swirl in your chest at your sibling's late timing. You were already on edge about this whole plan. Now that you’ve taken down one of your big hurdles, you were determined to finish this game, not wanting to feel like a fool for trying if you failed.
Your orbs glow green with the returning of your aura, and you shout angrily as you abruptly stop running. In one quick motion, you extend your arms beside you with clenched fists, blasting a veil of your energy like a force field. The force sends their arrows in the opposite direction and manages to knock a few Apollo campers off the trees. You didn’t knock all of them, but it bought you enough time to run as they tried to regain their balance. Halfway through, you hear shouting and groaning as your siblings take down the rest and bind their arms behind their backs with magic.
You run past the Apollo cabin's defense, and soon, you arrive where the flag is. James and Ernest entertain the two disarmed Athena campers that were guiding the flag, fighting them with their hands while Alabaster tied up a couple of other campers in the trees nearby.
“Grab her!” One of the Athena campers yells, his partner lunging toward you without hesitation. You manage to dodge his attempt, the other grunting as he falls from the force that didn't meet your body.
The moment you were close enough to snatch the flag out of the ground and you hear your brothers cheering you on as you sprint back. Your mind races, not sure when you should attempt to become ethereal, and you begin to worry if you’ll even transform at all. Soon, you're greeted with your answer as you catch sight of Mark, one of Clarisse’s brothers, sprinting toward you, and you curse under your breath. Mark will take the flag from you and run back with it himself and you couldn't just let him claim you win. It was much earlier than you wanted, but there was no other choice.
You let out a rough breath, and you focus hard, recalling what you felt the night you transformed for the first time. A gradual tingle becomes more intense as it starts from your fingertips and from the tips of your toes. The sensation creeps up your arms and legs until it meets together in your stomach and as your core vibrates, you smile, knowing you’ve succeeded.
Your siblings shout at you excitedly from the sidelines, the moment you transform, laughing and taunting Mark while he makes useless attempts to grab you. You focus hard to maintain the vibrating in your core as you approach the river, afraid that you will lose your hold. As you get closer to the pond, you lock eyes with Annabeth as she, Percy, and a few others are waiting for your arrival.
If you weren't ethereal, she would have tackled you straight to the ground no problem, but as expected, she ran right through you. The other campers attempt to catch you after Percy sends out a thick slash of water that would have grabbed you by the waist and up in the air.
“What?! How are you doing that?!” Annabeth shouts, and you don’t say anything as finally get to the other side of the pond and you stab the flag in the ground. Your muscles and chest burn, and you double over, hands on your knees to catch your breath. The satyrs blow the horn and at the sound of it, echoing through the forest, signally your triumph, you manage a ragged laugh.
The distant cheers of your siblings become louder as they appear from the trees, running to you. The energy in your core disperses as you turn back to normal, but you don't have much time to recover. The moment your brothers approach you, you feel yourself being picked up and tossed in the air.
“Guys! Please,” you choke through your laughs, squealing when they throw you a little too high for your liking. You look over to your right, seeing Percy smiling, silently congratulating you as Annabeth was pink with anger.
As your brothers put you down, you notice Malcolm showing up a few seconds late with your team’s flag in his hand. Behind him, Clarisse stomps towards you with a few of her friends following beside her. You had to admit, it was kind of satisfying being the one to get the flag, but if looks could kill, you’d be dead.
“Uh oh,” you mumble as she approaches you, your siblings huddling close beside you protectively, and even Ambrose stands in front of you, growling deeply.
“You messed up the game!” She accuses, and your head jerks back,
“Are you joking? I won the game. Mark was barely halfway by the time I was running here.”
“It doesn’t matter! He would have made it.”
“He really wouldn’t have,” James points out, and Clarisse snaps her attention to him.
“Either way, you guys were supposed to stay on the north side of the forest! You freaks have no place in games like this, anyways.”
“Bold of you to say considering we won the game for you,” you say through a clenched jaw, your eyes glowing as you feel your anger stirring in your chest. You hated when you and your siblings were outed in the camp. Being called freaks or avoided because people deemed you guys as too dangerous without giving you chance, angered you the most. It just wasn't fair.
You laugh, not from amusement, but from disbelief. At this point, you didn’t care, you were at a high after your win, and if Clarisse wanted to fight about it, you were up for it. “Is your pride that wounded, Clarisse? Maybe you aren’t as good as you think you are,” you walk up to her, ignoring Atticus's hesitant calling of your name.
The way Clarisse’s eyes darken failed to intimidate you in your furious state. You guys were practically nose to nose, and in the reflection of her eyes, you can see your aura illuminate wildly around. As Clarisse draws her sword, you smirk, ready to blast her into the trees the moment she decided to move.
“Girls,” Chiron’s voice booms through the silence as he walks through the trees, and the both of you look over. He doesn’t say anything else, the tone of his voice being enough of a warning.
Atticus gently pulls on your arm, and you unwillingly back down. Clarisse scoffs, and she pushes past you hard causing you to stumble back. Atticus catches you from behind, letting you regain your balance and you rub your shoulder, looking back to watch her storming through the forest.
“You did well, Y/n,” Chiron praises, and you smile at him before he goes off to announce the winning of your team. Everyone except for the Ares Campers and the opposite team cheers loudly, excited to have fewer chores after a streak of losing. Soon the team crowds around you, and your siblings start telling a dramatic interpretation of what you did forcing you to chime in here and there as some of the things they described were a little off from the truth. You smile, listening to their chattering, and eventually, you fall behind the crowd as they begin talking about something else. Suddenly, a hand rests on your shoulder, and you look beside you, Alabaster with a proud look on his face.
“I told you you’d do it,” he says teasingly.
“Yeah, yeah.” You wave your hand, lightly nudging his hand off your shoulder. The last thing you wanted was for him to start his ‘I told you so’ speech. “I get it, you believe in me, and whatever,” you joke, and Alabaster laughs,
“I’m serious, Y/n. You’re-”
“More powerful than you think. I know.” You finish his sentence as you shift on your feet. “I guess you’re right,” you admit, mumbling under your breath.
“What was that?” He asks as he leans closer as if he didn’t hear you. You nudge his shoulder and scoff,
“If you missed what I said, then too bad!” You declare as you walk ahead of him. You hear his laughter, and he decides to let it go as he returns to walk with your brothers, Ambrose happily trotting behind him.
“Y/n!” At the call of your name, you turn around, Percy jogging over to you. You giggle, amused at how sweet he looked after being able to intimidate you during the game. “I can’t believe you apologized after kicking me."
“I felt bad,” you admit sheepishly, making him laugh. “How did you get out of the ice?” You ask, playing with the hem of your shorts. He hums,
“It took me a while to figure it out, but apparently I can change the temperature of the water,” he explains, and you nod.
“Yeah, I figured you might be able to. I won’t be using that again,” you say playfully, and Percy smiles.
“What you did was really cool,” he compliments, and you feel your cheeks warm up. Out of all the praise that you’ve heard just now, Percy’s made you feel different. “I have to look out for you now,” he nudges you.
“Yeah, you better watch out, Jackson. I have a lot of tricks up my sleeve,” you warn him, and you take in how he gleams at your banter, making you smile even more.
“I’m looking forward to it. I’m just happy that you can’t trap me in my own element; that would have been embarrassing.”
“I’m kind of bummed about that. It would have been funny if I did, though," you tease and Percy scoffs playfully.
“Y/n!” Alabaster calls on you and the other waves for you to come to him. “You have to rest,” he says shortly. You couldn’t read the expression on his face, but he didn’t look too pleased. You frown and nod, disappointed that your conversation was cut short with Percy.
“I’ll see you later,” you smile softly, and Percy nods.
“Yeah, same,” he says, returning the smile before you turn around to join your siblings back to the cabin.

chapter one || chapter 3
Tumblr media
The two heroes started in. Neither of them was looking forward to this, knowing the outcome would arrive after cuts and bruises, yet Ladybug lunged toward the threat without hesitation. Within seconds of her pursuit, her path was blocked by a pillar of rock bursting from the ground.
“What the hell?” she said to herself as dust was rising in billows around her. “Chat, be careful,” she shouted across the way, “she had some kind of rock manipulation.”
Chat leaped across the expanse, claws outstretched toward Gi Magissa, ready to pounce. He didn’t see it coming, the tree in the background coming to life before a branch swung out and wrapped around his ankles, effectively pulling him back. The branches stretched out fast, unpredictably, like it had a mind of its own.
Suddenly, white-hot-searing pain ripped through his side like a scalding knife. Chat cried out loudly, his scream causing Ladybug to whip her head in his direction. His body went limp for a moment as the tree’s tentacle-like branches moved around him.
Ladybug’s chest tightened, her thoughts muddled by blind panic. No, no no no no, her thoughts screamed at her. She held her breath, her body frozen in time as she waited for him to shift, to move, to do anything.
“You’re nothing without your counterpart Ladybug. You’re weak.” Gi Magissa hissed out in an almost snakelike way. Her words coiled around Ladybug and threatened to squeeze the life out of her.
The heroine knew she was trying to distract her from helping Chat, her words attempting to create hopelessness and doubt as she screamed for her partner to surface.
“I thought she controlled rocks?” Chat exclaimed breathlessly, his body struggling against the thin bark around his ankles as he seemed to come to life. Ladybug exhaled, her lungs screaming for oxygen. She knew that she lost time by waiting for her partner. She couldn’t freeze like that again, she couldn’t afford to. Ladybug prided herself in rarely letting her emotions get the better of her in battle, but this had thrown her.
Get yourself together LB, you have a job to do.
It was when Ladybug swung at Gi Magissa once again and the tree went lifeless, releasing Chat Noir who let out a sharp yelp before quickly leaping to his feet, that she realized two things. One, the villain must have the ability to manipulate the earth. But two, this could be important, she could only control one thing at a time. If she was busy worrying about holding off Ladybug, she couldn’t worry about Chat and vice versa.
This was the opening they needed to get in their hits.
“Chat, let’s go with the old one-two, yeah?” she shouted at him. She knew that he would know what she meant without having to verbalize it. They needed to get to her without voicing their plans, or she’d just be one step ahead.
Gi Magissa was fast and they both found that out the hard way. Even though it was only early on in the fight, they couldn’t afford any more slip-ups like that. Granted, they were only just figuring out her power, but Chat was already wounded, and the way he was cradling his side made her think it was worse than he let on.
They needed to hurry. At that moment was all or nothing. Ladybug and Chat went at her with everything they had, getting in close to her in order to avoid any surprises from far away.
Ladybug’s yoyo was virtually useless at that point due to her proximity to Magissa, so she had to rely on her hand-to-hand experience. She went at her from the left, kicking out her leg to hit her head. She evaded the attack easily as if she saw it coming from a mile away, sending a spray of knife-like stones at Ladybug.
Despite her attempts to dodge the rocks, one stray spike grazed her side. She cried out, her suit now torn as blood spilt on the sidewalk. Her body lurched back and hit the ground harshly. Though her yoyo was already thrown out in front of her, she didn’t have nearly enough time to brace herself as a sharp piece of earth hit from behind. She felt like a rag doll being thrown around from side to side with nothing for her to fall back onto as a safety net.
Her vision was going blurry, her voice too ragged to call out to her partner. Turning her head to the side, she squinted through the dust as she tried to catch a glimpse of Chat Noir. Though he was doing better than she was, her counterpart was struggling.
Get up Marinette, you can do this, she told herself as she gritted her teeth. Tears of pain were streaking down the sides of her face, washing away a line of dirt from the side of her cheek.
She needed to get up. She had to get up.
Ladybug went for Gi Mágissa again, a vine suddenly emerging from a crack in the sidewalk. She knew he didn’t catch it slithering across the asphalt toward him until his legs were pulled out from under him. She watched helplessly as his head hit the ground once again. He felt like he was going to vomit from the throbbing of his head, nearly seeing stars in the middle of the day..
“Chat!” Ladybug screeched. Shit shit shit shit.
Despite the hit he took, her partner willed himself back up. He darted at the akumatized who, fortunately for the two heroes, didn’t seem to notice Chat until he had wrapped his legs around her front with his chest to her back. His one arm wrapped tightly yet not too roughly around her neck in hopes of losing consciousness rather than something fatal.
Ladybug reached for the villain’s staff, made of something like tree bark, and snapped it in half over her knee.
No Akuma.
Her eyes widened in surprise, nearly crying out of frustration. This had draChat was grabbed then and thrown back by the same vine that tripped Ladybug.
Normally, their suits usually kept them from sustaining any terrible physical injuries, Ladybug knew when she detransformed, the damage would only be worse; bruises to tend to as soon as she arrived back at her home. And from his encounter with the tree, she was sure Chat’s civilian self was not going to be much better off.
It seemed like it took a hundred tries to find where this villain’s Akuma was. This one definitely wasn’t from Francoise Dupont High School, nor were they someone neither Ladybug nor Cat Noir knew in their civilian form.
Ladybug called upon her lucky charm and using her keen observation skills, finally, they located the Akuma, an unsuspecting pine-coloured fanny pack around her slim waist.
She almost laughed at the absurdity of the situation, their bruises and gashes feeling stupid after having to go through their worst battle just to take a fanny pack.
The red superhero went over to her partner, quickly informing him of her plan.
“Cataclysm!” Chat called out, before running at the earth enchantress once again.
He was careful not to touch anything, simultaneously bracing himself for the inevitable– a rock or a stone or a vine or a tree– to stop him. Once he had completely taken Gi Mágissa’s attention, Ladybug leapt into action, ripping the fannypack from the akumatized’s waist.
Ladybug threw it to Chat, who cataclysmed the bag. The unsuspecting Akuma flew out, its dark wings flapping in the rain. Ladybug swung her yo-yo, captured and released the butterfly, and flung her lucky charm in the air, undoing the damage done to Paris by Gi Mágissa.
“Your earrings,” Chat noted just as said miraculous gave a loud blip. “I’ll help her.”
Just then, his ring beeped steadily.
“I’ll be- I’ll be okay,” the de-akumatized young woman told the superheroes. “I- yeah, I need to find my mom.”
“You sure?” Ladybug questioned. Her anxiety was building in her as the beeping became even more insistent, her throat tightening in worry.
“Yeah, I’ll be okay.”
Ladybug gave a firm nod before swinging her yo-yo at a traffic light. She threw across the rooftops of Paris for a few short moments before she found an alley right behind a restaurant that seemed to be experiencing slow business.
Before she could even take a break, she heard the thump of footsteps. he looked up to find Cat Noir with his eyes wide.
Before either of them could process what was happening, before either of them even had time to get away from the other, the flash of red and green lit up the damp, dingy alley. Their kwamis emerged from their miraculous, tired and worn out.
The miraculous holder's jaws went slack in shock, the sight in front of the impossible.
It came out as breath, hardly even air as they said the word at the same time.
“You."

Okay I really enjoyed this week’s episode! It set up a bunch of cool stuff that I can’t wait to see, and it was a fun watch. We got a number of desperately needed partner/Digimon moments, and we got some much needed Taiyama friendship action going on - as well as some other stuff I super appreciated (but still want more of). I’m so stoked for how the team is coming together.
We didn’t get a few things I normally would have expected, and I’m never quite sure if I feel that way because it’s truly missing or if it’s just that “this ain’t your momma’s Digimon Adventure” yadda yadda. I don’t think i’ll ever get used to Taichi being so serious in comparison to his 99 incarnation (but, I get the feeling he is more in line with original V-Tamer Taichi, so there’s that).
So not a slam dunk for me, but all in all, it was good!
I just took as many Taiyama pics as I could so why don’t we just knock one out of the way before we begin xD
Tumblr media
They look so coooool all beat up and windswept
More below!
Sooo last week, the aptly named Eyesmon evolved into the equally well-named Orochimon. I always think “hydra!” (thank you Hercules) so initially my thought was that the plan would be for each of the kids to take out one head. Then I remembered, we only have six kids so far... and then I got a better look at it:
Tumblr media
(this cap’s from much later but it shows the whole body so)
there was clearly one head that was significantly different from the others and appeared the most connected to the body! So the strategy was clearly lop off the central head because that’s what’s controlling the rest! A la VenomVamdemon only slightly less gross hahaha
Meanwhile back in real Tokyo, as Koushirou explains, the electronic pulse generated from this freaky Digimon’s battle is affecting anything digital, or even just anything that uses electricity.
Tumblr media
Kaaaboom!
Our kids try to fight but it’s pretty obvious they’re out of their league. I did totally love MetalGreymon and Zudomon leading the charge together sort of. Because I continue to be a sucker for Taichi/Jou growth parallels! Anyway they both get knocked out and de-evolve so Taichi calls for them to regroup.
Tumblr media
Aww piggyback
Tumblr media
The way Jou carries Gomamon like an infant though ;___;
Tumblr media
Sora and Garudamon lead the retreat, scooping everyone up and carrying them out of danger and omg look at Gomamon he looks so cozy gaaah
but not before Taichi realizes someone’s not with them... it’s Yamato of course... he’s just standing there... staring...
Why? Because “my little brother’s in danger in the real world!” That is adorable. Stupid but adorable.
Also stupid yet adorable... Taichi immediately runs to go get him. I have no idea WHAT his plan was but I am eternally grateful that he is such a dork because it gives adorable dorkiness like this:
Tumblr media
and this
Tumblr media
and ultimately this
Tumblr media
pffffffftb
weregarurumon tries his best he really does
(no but really this is now my PREFERRED method of transportation for these two, one each tucked under WereGarurumon’s armpit and just dangling like that while he runs like crazy protecting his precious cargo... also look at Taichi holding onto Agumon’s arm the whole time eeeeeiiiii I love those detals it almost distracts from WereGarurumon’s expression of shock when they inevitably get shot and fall to their doom x’D)
Tumblr media
yeah so everyone gets shot and falls to their separate dooms, and this was 100% just an excuse to put Taichi and Yamato alone together. The shonen action anime equivalent of “and there was only one bed!”
Tumblr media
Jou continues to cradle Gomamon like his very own son
Tumblr media
The kids wonder what to do and Jou has a cool moment here and there (like legit cool, where he acts all responsible)
Tumblr media
... er, I did say “moment” :P
Tumblr media
Meanwhile Koushirou is all cryptic and scary. That is his main job after all. You may think it’s to be the team brain, but it’s actually to make sure we viewers know just how terrible things really are so we can lose all hope of survival even though we already know they’re going to win x’D
Tumblr media
I mean that is pretty scary tbh
Tumblr media
Taichi breathes a sigh of relief. I wasn’t exactly surprised that he’s not running out to fight - even 99 Taichi usually understood when it was time for a strategic retreat. At the same time, maybe it’s just me, but I totally got the sense that he was scared in this scene. Not out of his head with fear, but definitely worried, I mean none of them seemed to have any effect on this monster earlier. It’s interesting to feel his tension.
Tumblr media
“Yamato why did you just stand there in the street while we were trying to make our getaway?”
“Because... my little brother’s right in the center of danger back home... I can’t let this monster continue its rampage or he could get hurt...”
“Yeah man that’s all fine but I mean why did you just stand there in the street like an idiot I’m pretty sure you won’t be much use to your little bro if you’re steamrollered?!?!”
Tumblr media
He looks so surprised that all this has been because of brotherly love. I can’t remember, is this the first Taichi’s hearing of Takeru? I know he wasn’t there when Yamato told Sora & co but maybe it was mentioned way back when they jogressed... Either way I wonder why he doesn’t say “I get it, I have a sister back home too that I’m worried about too.” Seems like a moment for bonding ya know?
That is the one thing I felt was missing here... we went through all the trouble of getting Taichi and Yamato alone together, and all that happens is Yamato confides something in Taichi that he’s already shared with the others. I mean, Taichi also shows his willingness to help Yamato and work together, and I think that is the important thing we’re supposed to take away, as Yamato’s all touched by it... but uh, for the most part I felt like not much happened in this scene, at least not that we haven’t already seen before.
Tumblr media
Takeru’s phone, he’s waiting for a call from “oniichan” T-T my precious boy
Tumblr media
And we actually get to see him!! His face!! His adorableness!! Ahhh Takeru I miss youuu!
Tumblr media
Family photo! Parents’ faces not shown in the usual tradition of “divorcees in kids’ shows”! Also the tell-tale brothers are holding hands, but parents are standing as far apart as possible...
Tumblr media
Meanwhile Taichi’s mom and sis are trying in vain to evacuate while their car flips out. Hikari sees an image of Orochimon broadcast on a nearby building and flinches away. No one else seems to notice it so maybe this is just her special ability like in 99 Adventure?
Tumblr media
Traffic’s at a complete standstill and everyone’s electronics are going bonkers so Mama Yagami has them get out and head for the trains. Unfortunately this is what everyone else decides to do as well, and Hikari winds up like Simba in the wildebeest stampede, only there’s no one to jump in and save her so she tragically dies. :P
taichi: I see your ‘brother in danger’ and raise you one ‘dead sister.’
yamato: screw you
Tumblr media
“You did great Mimi!!” A JOUMI MOMENT WE GOT A JOUMI MOMENT sort of okay but beggars can’t be choosers HE PRAISES HER (FOR STUFF HE WASNT EVEN THERE TO WITNESS THO LOL) AWWWW ITS SO CUTE
Tumblr media
Then he remembers to praise his partner!!! All by himself! (Finally!) Gomamon’s so happy! It was so unexpected and he’s ecstastic!
Tumblr media
Piyomon instantly gets jealous!!!! It’s so adorable!!! Sora is quick to reassure her that Garudamon is indispensable.
Tumblr media
“And I’m the prettiest, right Mimi?”
“When you’re Lillymon, anyway.”
“D:”
lol the return of Mimi only appreciates Lillymon’s sense of fashion tickles me. an essential Mimi characteristic
Tumblr media
Tentomon shyly and awkwardly tries to wring a compliment out of Koushirou too. It works, Koushirou is quick to tell Tentomon that he’s super cool as AtlurKabuterimon. I will be honest though, I wanted him to fail, just because we need to let these kids actually develop!! Their arcs are over so quickly! It took 99 Koushirou 52 episodes to be able to say “I love you” (I think it was “thank you” or something in the original Japanese but the point is he was being super honest and vulnerable at long long last). Imagine what an important moment this would have been if Tentomon’s “and me?” had been met with “huh? uh uh... I was thinking about how to defeat Orochimon... what are we talking about?”
That is something I continue to miss, not just with Koushirou but with everyone... their personal weaknesses just don’t really feel like weaknesses the way they did in 99 Adventure. And I’m just wondering why? For me, that was a driving force of what made 99 Adventure really great. It wasn’t afternoon special “stories with a moral” type drivel, because what they learned in the moment still had to build upon, and they would fail again, and learn again, and become their best selves slowly. And they’d risk a lot in the meantime. It was powerful to ten-year-old me. We are at ep 17 now and by this point in 99 Adventure, we’d had tons of scenes like that. I keep thinking “okay it’s early, we’ve got time!” but at this point it’s not so early anymore! But comparing with 99 Adventure is also a useless effort and I continue to choose to enjoy this show as its own separate thing and believe there’s still lots to come.
Tumblr media
Taichi expresses his willingness to fight alongside Yamato even though as Yamato warn’s “it’s gonna be totes yabai”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Taichi: “I eat yabai for breakfast”
Yamato: “smiles”
jokes aside... the way Yamato smiles at Taichi is so cute! It’s hesitant, but once it’s there it doesn’t waver. He’s clearly starting to get used to relying on Taichi for backup, at least, and it’s no question that he feels friendship for him and the others, he’s just reluctant to admit it. The question is how all this will hold up when the situation’s reversed.
Tumblr media
I LOVE this particular cap, Idk, there’s something about the sheer determination on Taichi’s face and the trust in Yamato’s as he looks back at him while they ride Garurumon directly into Orochimon’s line of fire... Fizz I think you’re reading too much into the animation. DON’T MESS WITH MY DREAMS OK I KNOW THESE KIDS BETTER THAN I KNOW MYSELF
Tumblr media
obligatory Best Boy cap
Tumblr media
Suddenly, in the real world, the fight is broadcast on the screens!! I was expecting this to happen every time a screen flickered, but once it did, I was like wow!! they’re going to let the whole world in on the secret of the digital world already!? and I wasn’t sure how I felt about that
BUT... that’s not what happened, maybe. Because so far the only ones who for sure are seeing these images of Digimon and the Chosen Children are Hikari and Takeru. No one else reacted to Orochimon and Mama Yagami doesn’t go “hey, that’s my son!” We could argue no one noticed because they were busy evacuating like maniacs, and Mama Yagami was busy looking for Hikari on the ground and not looking up at the screens. But it feels impossible that someone wouldn’t notice! So my current theory is only Hikari and Takeru can actually see these images... at least for now.
Tumblr media
The fight rages. Meanwhile, the others soon catch up, as the only reason they were separated in the first place was to let Taichi and Yamato have a Moment. One thing I really liked though was Sora more or less leading the charge to join Taichi and Yamato. I want more of “second in command Sora” now and forever. (My personal headcanon since I was a kid was always that if something happened to Taichi, Sora, not Yamato, would take over. Tri did not go that way though :P)
Tumblr media
Burning eyes of courage!!
Tumblr media
They beat Orochimon by taking off his central head, as predicted. Then they all go and take a nap in the street. It is full of d’awww.
Tumblr media
Gabumon and Agumon mimicking their partners’ body language always get’s a mega d’awwwww
Tumblr media
Taichi: “That was yabai!”
Yamato: “I warned you it would be.”
Taichi: “Yeah, but we made it somehow!”
Yamato: “... smiles”
Tumblr media
Uggggghhhh I can’tttttt with these two
Like Koushrou, Yamato is totally whipped by Taichi’s smile... oh dear... my heart is pulled in two directions... Taiyama... Taishirou... “my number one my number two...” (anyone else remember that dumb song there used to be tons of love triangle amvs on youtube set to it...)
Tumblr media
I mean just look. look at Yamato looking at Taichi. he can’t make himself look anywhere else. ToT
Tumblr media
Sora and Piyomon also win Adorable Award of the Day.
Honestly everyone gets it... I apologize for not having any cute Tentomon resting on Koushirou scenes capped! It’s because they drew Tentomon’s head freakishly big and I just couldn’t do it bahahaha but they were cute too
Tumblr media
And that’s the end of... oh oh wait, did you think the battle was over? YOU NOOB. xD
every veteran Digi fan was not at all surprised to see this countdown appear and what looks like yet another bad guy evolution next week. Also next week...
Tumblr media
... looks like Takeru’s finally going to join us!! Yaaaay! Very dramatically too it seems!
We got a glimpse of Hikari in a similar moment BUT... I’m not convinced Hikari will truly be joining us. She was separated from her mom and is clearly going to have a Digimon interaction of some sort like Takeru, but I think this is “eighth child” build up, one because the current ending theme is completely Takeru centric, and two because it just makes sense to me that Takeru would be Crisis One and Hikari will be Crisis Two. Idk of course it’s just a hunch.
Fizz before you said Hikari was killed in the stampede I WAS KIDDING
kidding about children dying??? OMG Y’ALL
maybe though Hikari’s swept away by those people, gets her Digivice, then is promptly captured by... idk evil Digimon, or shady government officials? More likely, she gets her digivice and helps but keeps it a secret and plans to show her brother when they reunite... we’ll see!
This ep I give 8/10!!
Ending with one more cool Taichi cap from next week’s trailer!

Trust as Their Ground
Thank you for much for the support as always, @breeachuu! I had so much fun with this I think I got carried away askjdnlams This is a Support Chain between Wolfram x Dimitri, and you can read more about how they got acquainted in Wolfram’s series, right >here<!
Commission info HERE and HERE!

At night
Wolfram, surprised: Oh, man, it was my turn to close up the training grounds for the day! It’s been so busy lately with all these new people, it completely slipped my mind!
Wolfram: I hope Byleth doesn’t mind me knocking on her door now to give back the keys once I close this up- Huh? Is there someone training inside?
Dimitri, on his own: … Huff! Perhaps this way is better.
Wolfram: Oh, Dimitri! What’re you doing here so late? I was about to lock you in!
Dimitri: Wolfram? Oh, has so much time already passed? Forgive me, I was a bit absorbed in today’s lesson.
Wolfram: Whoa, how long have you BEEN here? It’s all stuffy… and you’re all sweaty!
Dimitri: Ah, I suppose I am. Do give me a moment to compose myself.
Scene changes to outside.
Dimitri: Thank you for waiting, Wolfram. I hope I was not a bother.
Wolfram: Don’t worry about it, you couldn’t be a bother to ME! You’re the first friend I made here, Dimitri. Anyway, I saw how you moved back there and it looked a bit different from what Byleth was teaching? Were you incorporating it to your own routine or something?
Dimitri: I was, yes, I am surprised you noticed. The Professor has many great skills to teach us, so I must find a way to absorb it all within the swordplay I already know -- it is by adapting themselves that a knight finds the way to best use their abilities.
Wolfram: Hmmm, yeah, I think I heard something like that from my classes with Luci-uuuh, with one of the Knights, haha! Yeah. I think I heard Catherine? Saying that? Yeah, that was her, for sure.
Dimitri, smiling: …
Dimitri: Truly? It does sound like something she would say. Lady Catherine has amassed many a skill through her walk of life.
Wolfram, sweating: (Oh, phew, I didn’t blow it.) Y-yeah! And the way she uses her sword and stuff is really cool! I figure we could learn from her sometime, right?
Dimitri: No doubt about it. However, I do not think teaching suits her as much as knitting suits me. You should watch her during our next battle, perhaps that would be more of a lesson.
Wolfram, crestfallen: Y-yeah, the next battle… It’ll be a great lesson, sure.
Dimitri: ? You have gotten pale, Wolfram, are you feeling sick? Should I take you to the infirmary?
Wolfram: No, no, I’m fine. Thank you, Dimitri. Besides, we’re almost at Byleth’s room, so it would be a trek to get all the way up there to Manuela’s infirmary.
Dimitri: Worry not, I can carry you if you need. I’ve no lack of stamina-
Wolfram, blushing: C-carry me? N-no, it’s okay! I’m really feeling fine, don’t worry about it!
Dimitri: Well, if you say so, I shall believe. But do not hesitate to come to me if you ever feel uncomfortable, yes? As you said, I was your first friend here, right? What sort of friend would I be if I weren’t there when you needed me?
Wolfram, smiling: Thank you, Dimitri. Don’t worry, I’ll keep on relying on you a lot in the future.
B SUPPORT
Dimitri, on his own: *sighs* Yet another night sleep evades me. Perhaps I should simply take a walk outside -- dawn is still far from breaking, but the chilly air might do me better than listen to-
Dimitri: Hahh…
Scene changes to outside.
Dimitri: The quiet of the night, much more peaceful than inside that loud room.
Dimitri: …
Dimitri: … Silence might not be truly peace-
Dimitri, running: !! What was that? The sound of wings? But those cannot be the sound of a small animal… perhaps a giant bird is delving too closely? I should be ready for batt-
Dimitri: *gasps* You are-
Wolfram, surprised: Dimitri!? I- I, uh, I can explain.
Dimitri: You have wings…? And a tail? *gasps* Wait, we should not talk like this in the open, let us go to my room.
Wolfram: Y-yeah, sure.
Scene changes to inside.
Dimitri: There, it does not seem like we were seen.
Wolfram: … Mhm...
Dimitri: Is this perhaps the reason for your ‘amnesia’?
Wolfram: *gasps* You knew?! B-but you still believed in me and-
Dimitri: People may take me for being naive for simply being willing to believe in others, but I am no fool, Wolfram. However, there is no need to worry about your secret -- it will be safe with me, whatever or whoever you are.
Wolfram: *sniffles* I-it actually was so hard to keep this from you, since you were so GOOD to me from day one. This whole wings-and-tail and scales you might’ve not noticed, might come as a surprise, but it’s not even the most shocking part of the secret.
Dimitri: Oh? You only need to share what you are comfortable with, Wolfram. I believe in your character as a person.
Wolfram: No, no, it’s okay. You gotta know; it’s not fair to you like this AND I’ve been wanting to let you know, too, so it all works out!
Dimitri: If you are sure, then very well.
Wolfram: Actually, I came here from another world. You know, like when Byleth came out of that portal with her hair green and stuff? I came out of a similar one, from a different world than the one she was trapped in. The, uh, Goddess? Of my world actually speaks to us through my kind -- we can turn into dragons, though I can only do it partially -- and she told me this world was gonna, uh, need help. Soon. So she sent me here to help.
Dimitri: … That is a lot to take in. Not only to know of the turmoil that might shake this world but also to comprehend how shortsighted my life has been until now. New worlds? Portals? All in front of my very nose!
Wolfram: Oh, you’re taking this well. I thought you’d, I dunno, not believe me?
Dimitri: Why would I do such a thing? I have seen your wings with my own eyes and I believe in your character, as I said previously. In fact, I would love to hear more of your home world, Wolfram. Of the family you so want to talk about but hide behind your amnesic setting.
Wolfram: Heehee, I didn’t really inherit any lying bone in me, did I? My Father always tells the truth bluntly and my Mother really prizes sincerity, so it was hard to pretend I didn’t remember them.
Dimitri: I am eager to hear more, but perhaps *yawns* do forgive me, I do not know how I could be this overcome with sleep after having trouble for so long...
Wolfram: It’s okay, Dimitri. Thank you so much for listening to me. I can stay here until you fall asleep if you want?
Dimitri, blinking: That would be…. Much appreciated… See you tomorrow, Wolfram...

Wolfram: Oh, there you are, Dimitri. Since you weren’t at your usual spot, I got a bit nervous looking for you.
Dimitri: ...
Wolfram: But I’m fast at tracking down people, did you know? I actually have a more acute nose than humans, so I could follow your scent here!
Wolfram: Now that my opening speech is done, here you go: today’s dinner. You didn’t go to the dining hall the whole day again, right? I know how harsh it is to get back to the swing of things after living in the wild for 5 years, but since we have proper food now, it’d be a waste not to eat it, right?
Dimitri: Leave me. You gain nothing by following me around like a lost puppy.
Wolfram, pensive: Hmm, but I don’t need to gain anything to be with you. You were my first friend here, and you’re the one I trust the most in this world, so just spending time with you is enough for me.
Dimitri: ...
Wolfram: (Maybe that was the whole lot of words I’ll get out of him for the week, huh.) Here, you can eat after I leave, as always. Thanks for always leaving the plates out so I can take them back, by the way.
Dimitri, turning away: ...
Wolfram: You don’t need to feel pressured to answer, you know, no need to be grumpy. I kinda got used to not having anyone to talk to these last few years, so I’m still relearning how to interact with people.
Wolfram: What I’m saying is; it’s actually better for me when you don’t reply since I can just say whatever comes to mind without having to think about replying to your reply!
Dimitri: ...
Wolfram, smiling: … You wanna know why I keep coming, right? No need to nod, I guess I can just tell. This is gonna sound random, but do you remember the first time I went with our class for a mission? It was that Remire Village; I’ll never forget its name no matter how many years pass.
Wolfram: I was so scared of all the killing and the madness around me, I could barely hold my tome right. Everything felt like a nightmare. Then you said something about ‘crushing their skulls’ and killing everyone and that- that scared me so much more than the slaughter all around me.
Wolfram: I thought I couldn’t stay by your side; I thought the darkness inside you was so overwhelming that I couldn’t believe you were the same Dimitri who welcomed me with open arms into the Officers Academy.
Dimitri: *holds breath* ...
Wolfram: But then after talking to our friends, I realized that they were both you. That you carry a burden that no one else but you understand, and that you’re still you at the end of the day, fighting a losing battle inside yourself, with your own phantoms and fears; to be the man I’ve always known.
Wolfram: So, why do I keep coming? That shouldn’t even be a question. You’re still you, though now your fight is a bit more on the outside than before. I’ll keep on being by your side and believing in you, just like how you were willing to believe in me before.
Dimitri: …
Dimitri: *starts eating*
Wolfram, smiling: …
Light flashes, flapping noises.
Wolfram: My wings got a bit bigger and stronger during this time we’ve been apart, so I can wrap one of them around you like this -- it’s how we dragonkin protect the ones dear to us during our bonding time. So don’t worry about anything and just eat, Dimitri.
Wolfram: I’ll be here with you.
A+ SUPPORT
Wolfram: *sneezes* They weren’t kidding when they said Farghus was cold during winter! Brr, I’m not built for cold weather!
Dimitri: Wolfram, there you are! Goodness, but you are shaking like a leaf -- here, take my cape, it shall help warm you up until we get back inside.
Wolfram: *sniffles* T-thank you, Dimitri. It’s spring and it’s so cold barely after sundown? I was born with scales, not fur.
Dimitri: Haha, come, friend, let us take you away from this wind. Why were you out there, if I might ask?
Wolfram: My Father sometimes told me about how my Mother would just stare at the night sky sometimes when she wanted to think -- that it was something inherent to our kind, or something. I was just thinking that that might be true? ‘Cause despite the cold, I just felt the urge to come out here and just let the stars take me in.
Dimitri: I would be troubled if they physically took you. However, I am glad that you have found a piece of home in Fhirdiad, no matter how far it is from your homeworld.
Wolfram: … Yeah. I still have a clear memory of them, though I think it’s partly due to my dragon blood, but that makes me miss them more, you know? I wake up and it feels like they were just there.
Dimitri: … Are you… unhappy here?
Wolfram: Well, I… would be lying if I said I’m truly content here, away from my family, but I am glad to be able to do my part in history.
Dimitri: My actions have made your stay much more strenuous, have they not? This is actually the reason I was looking for you.
Dimitri: I may have apologized to everyone back then, but you need to hear it from me personally.
Wolfram: Apology? But Dimitri, you did nothing wron-
Dimitri: No. Allow me this, Wolfram. I- you did not deserve what you went through -- what I put you through -- without any words of acknowledgement. So, what I am saying is; thank you. Thank you for staying by my side while I pushed everyone away. Thank you for staying by the Professor’s side during those 5 years, making sure she wasn’t hurt during her slumber. Thank you, most of all, for being there for all of us; from coming all the way from another world to help one that would sooner see you dead than accept your warm hand.
Wolfram, surprised: !
Wolfram: *sniffles* I- Dimitri, I wasn’t expecting-
Dimitri: Indeed; you weren’t expecting anything in return and yet you tried to help. You DID help. I am living proof that your warmth brought me back from the brink from where I stood- where I still stand.
Wolfram: I-I’m not going anywhere just yet, Dimitri. I’ll help you through this.
Dimitri: … I know. Thank you in advance, but I will be sure to thank you later, as well.
 S SUPPORT
Wolfram: Phew, that was a long flight. I wonder how long-
Dimitri, sweating: Wolfram! Thank goodness you’re back! I thought- everyone thought you had left for good after the war ended.
Wolfram: Huh?! I wouldn’t go without a word! How long was I away for, anyway? It didn’t feel like that long.
Dimitri: Truly? I wonder if that has to do with how you told me your kind sees the passing of time? Because you have been gone for an entire week. I was about to send out searches for you...
Wolfram: A WEEK? Gosh, I didn’t mean to take that long, I’m really sorry! I guess I just had a lot to think about.
Dimitri: *huffs* Regardless, I am glad that you are back; for some time there I felt like I had no ground to walk on.
Wolfram, blushing: N-no ground? That’s a bit too much, right?
Dimitri: Not at all. I have been bearing a selfish desire inside of me since quite some time ago, that only blossomed with your departure. I, well…
Dimitri, blushing: I wanted to ask if you’ve really must go after that ‘curfew’ Holy Naga established.
Wolfram: (Actually, the curfew was my Mom’s doing.) T-that’s… actually what I went to think about.
Wolfram: I DO need to come back home since I miss everyone terribly, but… I, well, I… fwooo… hahh… I don’t wanna leave you.
Dimitri, surprised: Truly? But you’ve told me before that the portals are not stable. How could I watch you go and wait for your return that might not happen? It is largely selfish of me, but… I do not want to let you go, Wolfram.
Wolfram, blushing: I thought about a lot of things while I was flying. I’m sure that with the help of Naga, my Mother and the others back home, we can make a long-lasting portal. Or at least get my Dad to make a gadget that can open them at will.
Dimitri: Your Father is a mage, correct? Perhaps-
Dimitri, blushing: Perhaps I can keep my hopes up, then? That you will stay with me -- that you will come back to me?
Wolfram, blushing: Hey, don’t say it like that! You gotta go with me sometime to meet everyone, too! I mean, if we’re gonna do this- I mean, this...
Dimitri, blushing, smiling: I- ah, do forgive my blunders. I forgot to say the most important words. Will you marry me, Wolfram? I love you deeply and I cannot see myself walking life without you by my side.
Wolfram: *sniffles* I was ready to ask the same thing, you know? You beat me to the punch!
Wolfram, smiling: Yes, of course I’ll marry you! We’ll find a way to connect our worlds. Together!
Dimitri: Together.

Rewritten & Reposted March 24, 2021
MASTER | Ch. 13 | CHAPTER 14 | Ch. 15
After that night, something changed between you and Bokuto. It was a subtle change, but a change nonetheless. He didn’t kiss you as often as you’d like, and while sometimes that drove you crazy enough to want to pull your hair out, it was enough to just have those moments together, those lingering touches and too-long stares that made your heartbeat a fraction faster.
One change in particular came in the form of regular study dates.
Bokuto was not the most serious student, he was planning on mostly relying on his athletic ability to get him into the school of his choice - or if he was lucky enough, go professional as soon as he graduated. You reminded him that getting into the school was only half the battle, in order to play he needed to actually keep up with his grades. Studying with him was like trying to wrestle a puppy into a travel carrier while also having a toddler balanced on your hip with your hands tied behind your back… oh, and the room is on fire.
“You have got to sit down.” You sighed as you eyed the boy pacing circles around the counter in your apartment kitchen. Baba had offered to have Yua and Eiji over for a few hours that day to allow you time to get studying in without having to worry about them. You’d pick them up for some dinner later if you were ever going to get in the work that was needed.
“But I’m bored.” Bokuto whined, finally collapsing dramatically at the table across from you. He had been banished to sitting across from you rather than next you when for the first fifteen minutes of studying he spent insisting that he would be more productive with you sitting in his lap. He propped his elbow up on the table and rested his chin in his hand as he attempted to give you some of the best puppy eyes you’ve ever seen. “Can we take a break, (Y/n)-chan?”
“Don’t butter me up, we just took a break.” You laughed as you looked back to your notes in front of you, the ins and outs of biology were thrilling in their own right but Bokuto had a smile that could probably get you to do anything - so you looked away from him. “We don’t get to take another one for at least 45 minutes.”
Bokuto let out a loud huff and sadly looked back down at his own study materials. They weren’t as sloppy as you might expect them to be, but you were almost positive that was because Akaashi helped him when needed. His handwriting was small and scratchy, but the different colors he wrote in and highlighted with showed that he cared at least a little bit about what was going on in his classes.
At the moment, he was working through some chemistry problems. When you first started studying you went and dug through your past school work and happily handed over your old notes since you’d taken that class a previous year. When he opened up your notebook, his eyes widened considerably and had repeatedly glanced between you and the pages before him. You had looked at him with a closed-eye smile and tried not to blush when he complimented your thorough notes.
“This is amazing,” He had breathed, amazed.
You laughed at his expression and responded confidently, “Yes, they are.”
He shot up then and reached over the table, his hands grasped either side of your head and dragged you clumsily over the table, messing up your neat organization. He smashed his lips against yours, smiling as you momentarily struggled through your surprise. “I owe you,” He grinned after pulling away and sitting down like he hadn’t just kissed you within an inch of your life.
Now though, the thrill was gone for him and every once in a while he would let out a small grunt, like he was clearing his throat. You glanced up at him only briefly while turning the page, keeping your attention where it needed to be. “You need a drink?”
“I need your attention,” He whined again. You would never admit to him that his neediness was almost endearing, the way he looked at you could’ve melted your heart in any other situation.
“Give me twenty minutes on this chapter, then I will help you with your review?”
“Can we play a game?” He asked, eyes lighting up brighter than a firework.
You hesitated, “A game?”
“Yeah, like a study game!” He nodded, attention finally seeming to be productive. This newfound motivation intrigued you, so you humored him and encouraged him to continue to explain his idea. “Well, you ask me a question and if I answer it right you have to take off-”
“Do. Not.” You interrupted, laughing hysterically, while yelling above his voice. “Even think about finishing that sentence!”
“What!” He cried out, seeming defeated that you wouldn’t even consider his idea. “Hear me out!”
“This is not some kind of teenage rom-com, Bokkun!” You continued to laugh as he visibly deflated from your rejection. “I am not stripping my clothes to help you study.”
“What if I strip my clothes to help you study?” He countered flirtatiously, leaning forward on his hands across the table to get close to your face, eyebrows wiggling suggestively.
“We both know that’d be even more of a distraction,” You mumbled. The thought of Bokuto lifting his black volleyball t-shirt over his head, muscles rippling across his chest, stomach, and arms, had you just about drooling as your mind drifted. But before he could really take advantage of your momentary weakness, you pushed his face away and made him sit back down.
“Worth a shot,” He sighed, which made you laugh again.
*
“Not going to lie, that last one was a doozie.”
You looked up at Rumi and frowned, your brow creased in confusion at her comment. “You’re the one who said taking an advanced English literature class would be fun.”
“It is fun,” She shoved your shoulder. “The exam itself was just long as ~hello…”
You turned to face forward to see what your friend was looking at. Ahead of you, just at the entrance to your school’s campus, stood two lone male figures looking very out of place.
One was wearing a white shirt, red tie loosened around his neck, black sweater vest, and grey pants. The other wore a white collared shirt and grey blazer pushed half way up his arms, a loosened striped blue and white tie, and black pants. They both could not look more cool but also more out of place in the sea of students wearing the green, black, and pink uniform of your own school.
You smiled at Bokuto and Kuroo both as you walked up to them with a hop in your step, wondering how they managed to get all the way to your school in time for the end of the day dismissal.
“Both Nekoma and Fukurodani dismiss third years as soon as exams are done in the morning,” Kuroo explained when you asked.
“Yeah, we test straight through the day then peace out as soon as we’re done.” Bokuto slung his arm around your shoulders and easily pulled you into him, not having a care in the world that there were plenty of people around.
“You guys are lucky,” You whined, stomping your foot and looking at Rumi who nodded in agreement and was standing close to Kuroo. “We could’ve gotten lunch!”
“Well, maybe one of these days I can convince you to sneak off on your free period and meet me,” Bokuto smiled down at you, pulling playfully at a lock of your hair and laughing when you swatted him away.
“Corrupting girls of others schools?” A voice behind you laughed loudly, making all four of you turn. “Seems beneath the two of you.”
Bokuto and Kuroo both smiled as Daiki led a few members of the boy’s volleyball team up to greet them, all doing some weird handshake thing that guys do. You didn’t miss the fact that one third year in particular made a point to be a little less enthused than the others, completely ignoring Bokuto altogether.
You saw the slight twitch in Bokuto’s face when Shouta deliberately said hi to Kuroo but not him, the look of real confusion made you start to feel like the temperature around you was rising. You felt worry starting to grow in your stomach, Rumi also taking note of your sudden uneasiness.
Being who he was, Bokuto was not going to ignore the fact that he was being ignored and made a point to greet the other third year. “Shouta, ‘sup man?” He held out the hand that was not currently wrapped around you for the other boy to shake but was left hanging.
Everyone stopped, whether they were in mid-conversation or just listening they paused and held their breath. At this point, the rest of the boy’s volleyball team knew that you had rejected Shouta but you weren’t sure if they knew everything that was said between the two of you. It had been a few weeks since the interaction and both your teams were too busy to talk, much less gossip about what was happening between players. You waited, along with everyone else, for what was coming next.
“Bokuto.” Shouta nodded curtly, even though he wasn’t nearly as tall as Bokuto, he gave off an air of looking down on the two of you. “Didn’t think you normally slummed around these parts.”
“Well, yeah,” He smiled, completely oblivious (or at least doing a damn good job acting) to the tension brewing. He looked down at you with an almost loving smile and nodded your way, “I told (y/n) we’d get some food after her exams were over. You guys sh-”
“Listen, man, nobody really gives a raging fuck about why you’re here.” Shouta interrupted, shocking the entire group with his crude choice of words.
“Chill dude,” Kuroo stepped forward. “You brought it up, man.”
You noticed how Kuroo stepped up to stand next to Bokuto, neither of them flinching in the slightest. Even with calm expressions on their faces, you could tell from their eyes alone that they were not going to back down from anything that was about to happen. And they shouldn’t, they easily had the height and weight over Shouta and it didn’t look like the rest of the Shinzen team was gearing up to come to his aid.
You felt a tug and looked over your shoulder to see Rumi pulling on your uniform jacket to get you to step away from the brewing confrontation in front of you.
“Why are you even here?” Shouta then asked, looking over at Kuroo with narrowed eyes, giving him a once-over. “Following around the super star like his little sidekick? Or just fishing around for the next girl to try and sweep up like your buddy here?”
“Shouta- '' You started to warn, noticing Bokuto’s and Kuroo’s jaws clenching but neither of them saying or doing anything.
“No offense, (y/n), but honestly fuck off.” You, along with everyone in the group, gasped in surprise at the hash comment as he enunciated each word. “It’s one thing to be hanging around the creep, but seriously having him come all the way out here to pick you up? I mean, how much attention do you n-”
CRACK-
Before Shouta had a chance to finish his terrible words, and before you even realized what was happening, your fist collided with his jaw. A satisfying crunch sound filled your ears as he fell to the dirt in surprise, looking up at you in shock as he held his jaw in pain, a few tears threatening to spill over his eyes. You were seeing red.
“Fuck you, you bitter bench-riding fuck.” You said in a rage, spitting each word. “Maybe if you were half the man he was you’d get more playing time and girls would actually be interested in you.”
You were about to continue on your spree of insults when you felt a pair of hands grab onto your arms from behind and start to pull you away. “Alright bruiser,” Bokuto’s familiar voice was close to your ear. “I think he gets the idea.”
The four of you walked briskly down the sidewalk, away from the dramatic scene. Bokuto had his arm slung over your shoulders again, holding you close like he needed to keep hold of you out of fear that you’d go back and finish what you started. You could tell he was trying not to laugh, the situation being very serious considering you’d pretty much assaulted someone on school grounds. He continued to lead you away, never looking back to see if anyone was following or going to say something.
Once you’d rounded the corner a few blocks away, Kuroo burst out in a maniacal laugh while Rumi came up to you and grabbed you by the face. “You absolute badass.” She said, laying a dramatic kiss on your forehead. “Fuck that guy.”
You shyly looked away, coming to the realization of your horrific action. You looked down at the hand you had punched the boy with, clenching and unclenching it in a fist. “Damn,” You somewhat laughed, shaking out the lingering sting and looking up at Bokuto. “That felt really good.”
Bokuto smiled and squeezed your shoulders a little tighter, laying a kiss at the top of your head. “That’s my girl.”

... ... ... ... ...
Alakazam & Politoed
Taking some time to adjust along the mountainside, Alakazam attempts to bond with Politoed by reading a story, but...
...
“Oh, this reminds me of an old legend that I read a while back,” recalled Alakazam. “It was the one about the two dragons.”
“Those two that were always together even though they were like opposites in a few ways?”
“Yes! Ah, I thought I was the only one that still knew about that.” Alakazam chuckled. “It was such a lovely story, there were a few versions, a few different pairs of dragons, but they…” He hesitated as his eyes twitched. “Uh, they were sometimes…”
“…It’s usually stories about them becoming lovers, in spite of the opposite natures, right?” Politoed waited as Alakazam faced him. “…Alakazam?”
“Sorry, it, ah…we just both enjoyed…” A tear slipped from his eye. “It…”
Politoed waited a moment, as another tear cascaded from Alakazam, and then a few more started to come out. He got up as Alakazam turned, and they hugged as he sobbed into Politoed, still patting him.
... ... ...
Shaping Up A Magic Knight
Alakazam offers to tutor Politoed with dabbling into magic, which the curious latter is somewhat hesitant about.
...
“I don’t know if magic is really my thing, Alakazam.” Politoed scratched at his head. “My brother was always the stronger between us, sure, but I still think that I’m capable enough relying on my natural abilities.”
“Well, you’re certainly not learning with that attitude,” muttered Alakazam.
“Don’t we have enough magicians on the team?” Politoed placed his hand on his hip. “There’s Delphox, even if he is blind. Then we’ve got Gardevoir, Lilligant, Froslass, Mewtwo, and you.” He shrugged. “I don’t think there’s much of a need for me to join those ranks.”
“You do realize that you could become incredibly more powerful if you could combine physical efforts with magical ones, correct?”
“Like Lucario?”
“Yes, exactly.”
“But he’s not really that invincible.” Politoed gazed down at the tome in his hands. “I just don’t know about this…”
“It is entirely your choice,” relented Alakazam. “Perhaps I’m trying to overcompensate, but I do truly believe that you would be a capable candidate for such combinations.” He lowered his eyes. “It’s certainly a unique avenue to explore.”
“Don’t really need that anymore,” mumbled Politoed.
“Sorry, that’s not how I meant it.” Alakazam sighed. “It’s just that not many knights do get such an opportunity to pull this off. Just…think it over a little more, when you have a chance.”
He strolled away from Politoed, who watched him for a moment, and then returned his attention to the tome.
... ... ...
Machamp & Poliwrath
Completing an early trial battle against rivals, Machamp and Poliwrath celebrate their win for a moment. Neither is good for comforting.
...
“Ha!” Machamp placed his lower hands on his hips and beamed. “Tough battle, but nothing that the two Empire powerhouses can’t handle!”
“You know it!” Poliwrath smacked Machamp’s back. “You and me, tough as they come!”
“Yeah, together for…ever…”
Poliwrath watched as Machamp slouched. “…That something you two—?”
“It was a little phrase we had,” murmured Machamp, hastily rubbing at his eyes. “Since we were kids, we always brought it up, and the way his face lit up whenever we brought it up, I just…he was so happy, and I, uh…sorry.”
“Don’t worry about it.” Poliwrath patted Machamp’s lower arm. “It’s not like I’m any better off. We’re managing, we just need…more time…”
“Maybe a lot more…”
“…Probably, yeah…”
... ... ...
Enchanting Performances
Poliwrath and Machamp join Greninja and Chesnaught in their review of majestic performances between competing artists, including their friends.
...
“These performers are great!” Poliwrath rubbed his hands together. “Tonight’s been fantastic, don’t you think?”
“Well, yeah, I guess so!” Machamp slumped back in his chair. “I feel like I’d appreciate more styles if I studied up more on cultures and less on legends.”
“It’s not just the dancers, though they are amazing!” Poliwrath chuckled. “Lilligant, I was expecting. Him? Definitely not.”
“Tell me about it!” I grinned as I turned to Greninja nudging him at the other table. “Someone definitely enjoyed that one for sure.”
“How about the singers?” Poliwrath drummed on the table. “Primarina, I was expecting him to be as flawless as he was. But that Leavanny? Who knew she had that kind of a voice in her, huh?”
“She did that entirely without her band,” agreed Machamp. “…Did anyone else cry from that song? I feel kind of silly if only I did.”
“No way, I was bawling,” piped up Poliwrath. “That emotion was too overwhelming for me!”
“It makes sense why she…um.” Machamp and Poliwrath watched me as I glanced aside. “Uh, don’t worry about that.”
... ... ...
Poliwrath & Alakazam
After traveling up the first leg of the mountains journey, Alakazam thanks Poliwrath for his help, and comforts him when it goes sideways.
...
“You know, the lake up here reminded me that I don’t think I got the chance to thank you properly.” Alakazam smiled at Poliwrath. “Your quick thinking got me out from the water so swiftly, and I barely processed what had even happened the whole while.”
“Ah, I was just panicking a bit,” admitted Poliwrath. “Saw someone in the water scrambling a bit, so I just wanted to make sure you didn’t drown or anything!”
“In spite of being around water so long, if I hadn’t been careful, I could have.” Alakazam laughed. “Can you imagine? That would’ve been dreadful.” He sighed and smiled to Poliwrath. “So, thank you again for pulling me out.”
“Nah, no worries.” Poliwrath rolled his eyes. “Wasn’t much trouble, you’re light enough, though heavier than I was expecting.”
“Really?” Alakazam rubbed at his arm. “I think that’s a first.”
“Oh, no, sorry, that was stupid of me.” Poliwrath clutched at his head. “I just meant, you know, you were heavier than who I was…expecting…”
“…Ah.”
“Can’t believe how much of an ass I am,” grumbled Poliwrath. “Alakazam, I’m sorry, that wasn’t called for.”
“Missing your brother is as normal as a sunset, Poliwrath,” insisted Alakazam. “My heart aches over Machamp, so I understand.”
“Yeah, but it’s…I just…” Poliwrath slouched. “…I didn’t think I’d ever miss him the way that I do now, you know? He was just always there, so I never…I never…”
He jumped as Alakazam gently placed his hand over Poliwrath’s arm. He twisted to him, and Alakazam nodded, softly smiling. Tears welled up in Poliwrath’s eyes and he hastily brushed them away.
... ... ...
Teleportation Troubles
In the middle of a trial, Poliwrath struggles to regain his bearings after Alakazam warps them around a bit.
...
“Hang on.”
Alakazam placed his hand behind Poliwrath and they disappeared in a flash. Another one flickered from behind me, and I spun back to them.
“Ugh…” Poliwrath shuddered. “How do you do that all the time?”
“What? It’s a quick warp.” Alakazam folded his arms. “Don’t tell me you get motion sickness. You swim!”
“It’s not the motion, but that felt weird for me…” He looked at Alakazam, and then to me. “Neither of you seriously feel anything with that?”
“Well, I can sink into shadows and travel in this weird space that lets me quietly approach enemies,” I reasoned. “Plus, ninjas do a lot of vanishing acts all of the time…so, no.”
“And it’s literally second nature for me,” reminded Alakazam.
“Ooh, you guys are weird…”
“You’re one to talk, Mister Mouthless.”
“It’s right here!” Poliwrath pointed at his body, but I just blinked at him. I turned to Alakazam, who shrugged his shoulders. “Aw, come on!”
... ... ...
Politoed & Machamp
Surviving an early mountains trial mishap, Machamp thanks Politoed for his rescue, but this stirs memories for the frog.
...
“Can’t believe I almost drowned out there again,” joked Machamp. “Thanks a bundle for rescuing me a second time, Politoed!”
“Ah, you know, we’re natural-born swimmers.” Politoed laughed as Machamp grinned at him.
“You Water Types make it look so easy, but I do know how to swim too,” teased Machamp. “Grew up around water like anyone else in the Empire!”
“Sure, we all learned swimming, luckily for Empoleon.” Politoed tapped at his cheek. “Makes me wonder what he’d do with someone that couldn’t swim.” He sighed. “You know, Poliwrath used to help me out a lot when we first started. I don’t think I’d be as capable in the water without him.”
“No?”
“Maybe at some point, but…” Politoed sank down. “…Maybe I’m not as much of a natural as I claimed.” He looked to Machamp, who reached over to him. “He was such an ass when we were, you know how, back home, but…when we were young, and I was scared at first, because I had a bad experience with water very early on, but he was so patient and he…he…”
“He was with you whenever you needed him,” finished Machamp, and he lightly rubbed Politoed’s head.
“…Yeah…” Politoed heaved. “I don’t know how I’m supposed to go on without him…”
“It takes time, but we’ll get there,” assured Machamp. “Remember, you’re not alone.”
“Right, of course.” Politoed smiled to Machamp, picking himself back up. “Thank you.”
... ... ...
Making a Mighty Bouncer
As they continue to climb and deal with the mountains, Machamp decides to try a different kind of confidence booster for Politoed.
...
“There’s got to be a way that we can climb up there.”
“If we can’t climb or fly, how about we just have someone bounce?” Machamp glanced to Politoed, who jumped up.
“Me? Bounce that high?” He shook his head. “Are you crazy?”
“Come on, you can make that!” Machamp crouched down and cupped his lower hands together. “Here, I’ll even give you a boost!”
“No way!” Politoed winced. “You throw hard and far!”
“Right, you combine that with your bounce, and that’ll help you soar further up!” Machamp rubbed his head. “Unless you’re too scared, I guess.”
“What was that?”
“Hm? Oh, nothing.”
“Are you making fun of me?”
“Nah, just thinking that you’re too, ah, timid for it?” Machamp shrugged his shoulders and lifted his upper arms. “But, it’s fine. We can think of--”
“Just shut up and get ready to throw me,” grumbled Politoed, to Machamp’s delight.
... ... ... ... ...

Ark (WoL AU)
Tumblr media
(( Just finished Nier: Automata, so forgive me while I get that out of my system. ))
“Nngh...Devola...?”
Eliane and the twins turned in unison as the boy slowly dragged himself upright. The two lalaf -- dwarves, they were “dwarves” here -- danced about in a panic. The lady herself could only blink as the boy trained his grey eyes upon her.
“Pardon?” she asked.
“Of course...of course you were in my memories. Of course you repaired me.” He smiled. It was surprisingly kind. “What did you do with your ears?”
Eliane could only laugh a little. “They’ve...always been this way...?”
“How did he reactivate on his own?!” Konogg asked.
“How the heck should I know?!” Anogg replied.
Now the boy seemed confused. He looked between the three, settling on the twins for the time being. “What sort of model are you?”
“Model citizens, I should think!” Anogg announced. “We’ve been helping 2P dismantle the threat of the machine graveyard!”
“Two...P?” The boy looked spooked.
“Yeah! You know, the lady you tried really hard to kill. But Eliane here shut you down.” And so said she jerked a thumb at the Elezen.
“But there are no P units?” He blinked rapidly. “I did not succeed...did I...?”
“We just said Eliane stopped you.” Konogg sighed.
The boy returned his gaze to Eliane. She watched him with a touch more caution. “You're not Devola?”
“I’ve no idea who that is,” she said.
He suddenly surged forward, seizing her by the hand. Her instinct was to jerk away, but there was such panicked urgency in his face that Eliane only froze instead. After what felt like a lifetime, he reached up to touch her forehead, and stared in awed reverence.
“I can’t...interface with you. You...you’re...biological...” he breathed. “Are you human...?”
“’Human?’ You mean ‘Hume’?” That’s what they called Hyur here, anyroad. She had to chuckle. “Nay, I’m Elezen, though Humes are a gil a dozen.”
His eyes went wide. “Humans are alive?! Here?! Where are we?”
Eliane hesitated, hissing between her teeth. There was no short way to explain that. “This land is called Norvrandt,” she said at last. “‘Tis all that remains of a parched world.”
“Then the Ark finally landed...” He glanced away, furrowing his brow. “But it landed in another place where humanity resides...? That...doesn’t make sense...”
“You wanna start talking sense, or?” Konogg asked.
“He came here from another star,” Eliane said.
“What?!” Anogg asked.
“How do you know?!” Konogg asked.
“Because I’ve seen this before.” Eliane smiled, leaning in to try and catch the boy’s gaze. “Am I wrong?”
“No...” He watched her. “But how do you know that?”
“Because I’m something of a traveler myself.” She smiled and extended a hand. “My name is Eliane Dufresne. ‘Ellie’ for short if that’s too much of a mouthful. And you are?”
“9S,” he offered after a moment, taking the hand with hesitance. “You’re really telling the truth? There’s humans here?”
Eliane arched a brow. “Why such a love for humans?”
“They created us. We are sworn to protect them.”
“Hyur made you?”
“Sorry?”
“Er...” Eliane pinched the bridge of her nose. “Pray forgive me. Where I come from, ‘tis a race called the Garleans who are the most advanced, and yet even they could not hope to construct something as...alive as you.”
“Do you mean to say the humans here are primitive?” he asked.
Eliane chuckled. “Not as such. Most people rely upon magic in place of technology. ‘Tis only those with no magical capability who seek mechanical means.”
He hesitated. “What is ‘magic’?”
The twins nearly fell over.
“The ability to manipulate time, space, thoughts, and matter,” Eliane answered before they could protest.
9S stared. “So...biological hacking?”
Eliane wasn’t sure she entirely understood the concept of hacking, even after battling against him, but... “Aye, more or less.”
“I didn’t know humans were so...adaptive.” 9S blinked. “Eliane, please...if there is a human settlement nearby, might we visit it?”
Eliane chuckled. “The closest settlement is going through...a bit of a transition right now. But if you are willing to play the part of a young boy, I can take you to the Crystarium.”
He eyed her. “I’m not a boy.”
“But you are to the eyes of the mortal peoples of this land,” she said, holding a finger aloft. “There is much and more they do not understand, and you’d sooner convince them that you are a pebble before you convinced them you are a machine. But pretend to be a Hyuran -- uh, a human child, and they will not even notice your passing.”
He hesitated, eyes upon his feet, before finally sighing. “...Fine, fine. What is a ‘Crystarium?’“
Eliane turned to the twins with a grin. “Find him some clothes, if you would? Eulmoran clothes, not Dwarven clothes!”
“You have no sense of taste!” Anogg cried.

Chapter 2: Entrance Exam
You headed over to Battle Center A, where the Practical part of the entrance exam was about to take place. There were quite a few people, but looking at the size of the ‘battle center’… about triple the size of all of the examinees could fit comfortably in there. There was apparently quite a few of these centers around the school grounds.. how could this school afford that when your family who does big time crimes for a living can’t even afford a tv?
While studying the others, you spotted a familiar face.. yeah, the blonde asshole himself.
You couldn’t bring yourself to talk to him, but you could tell even from a safe distance— confidence was practically oozing out of him. Every now and then when he talked— well more like confronted then talked— to someone he would just call them an ‘extra’ as if he was a main character of an anime or manga or something like that. Doesn’t he know this is real life?
But you had to admit, with that big of an ego you were excited to see if his skill could match it.
After a bit of stretching and mental preparation, Present Mic yelled out, “Begin!” No countdown, no warning, just a green light to go into the exam. Everyone hesitated in confusion- well- everyone but you that is. One of the things you learned at the academy was hesitation is not acceptable, that’s important for both heroes and villains.
“What’s wrong? The test’s started!! Run! Run!!” He yelled out to the rest of the examinees. They all came running into the battle ground, but you still had a substantial lead.
You couldn’t help but feel a rush of excitement. It had been a few months since you could freely use your quirk to destroy like this.
Your quirk is called ‘vegetation’. Basically you can grow any type of plant in any type of solid material, from the normal ground to dense objects like marble. Sure, it wasn’t super flashy and it wasn’t crazy strong, but you knew how to use it well. Besides, you were physically strong too, so you didn’t solely rely on one or the other.
With some faux villains you simply incapacitated them with vines, some you used tree branches to use boa contractor-like tactics, squeezing the robots until they break. You changed it up so you wouldn’t reach your limit before the practical ended.
For the most part, everything was going as you expected. It’s not that the other students were doing badly, it’s just you had much more experience. However there were a handful of examinees who were doing better then the rest— most noticeably blondie, taking on one faux villain after the other with no signs of slowing down.
As you rounded a corner you saw a boy staring a faux villain in the face, not doing anything. Poor guy clearly pushed his boundaries with his quirk in the very beginning— leaving him exhausted now. Maybe it was from fear that he was helpless, but he was stuck in place. In an instant it hit you— the catch isn’t the fourth faux villain, it’s the scores themselves! If this is truly a legendary hero school, then taking down villains would never be their sole objective in teaching uprising heroes.. rescuing people! That’s the most important factor in a hero— their ability to rescue people!
In a matter of seconds you ran towards the boy and the robot, incapacitating it with vines and simultaneously creating a wall to protect the boy. He sat down on ground as the adrenaline left his body.
“Hey, are you okay?” You asked him, concerned. “Y-yeah. Thanks..” He replied, sounding somewhat defeated.
You reached out your hand, silently offering to help him stand up. He grabbed it and you pulled him up to his feet. You were about to go off and get more points when he called out, “Hey, wait! Um.. sorry I just need to know.. Do you think I’ll get in? I mean.. I only have like 18 points and..” His voice trailed off. His need for reassurance made your heart melt a tiny bit from the adorableness, but you weren’t about to sugar coat things for a stranger.
“I-I don’t know. Honestly I don’t think so. You shouldn’t go all out in the very beginning because then you’ll only slow down later.. then you'll become a liability in battle,” you said truthfully. His head hung a little and you could see the disappointment written all over him.
“-but that doesn’t mean you should give up. Someone once told me that when you try your hardest but it still seems impossible, try a little harder. Besides, there’s still more time, so keep going with what fight you have left in you.” You continued.
With that, you ran off to get more faux villains, and so did he. Giving (or receiving for that matter) encouragement wasn’t something that happened often, but you couldn’t deny it filled you up with a warm feeling, but that doesn’t mean you’re not a villain. Just that you have a little.. strange habit. And that’s fine! Everyone has one thing that’s strange.. yeah
Eventually you came across it. You knew it was gonna be bigger than the other robots, but you swore that thing was bigger then anything you’d ever seen before!! That's right, you don’t have to fight it. It’s not even worth anything. Sure, you might get some sort of extra credit, but you could loose too much time and energy (especially if it were to break out of any traps you would make). Definitely not worth it.
After a brief moment of thinking, you ran away and continued on with more of the normal robots, however there was a clear drop in the number of 3 pointers. Mostly just 1 pointers. It didn’t exactly matter in all honesty, you already had a good amount of points, so you were doing just fine.
“IT’S ALL OVER!!” Present Mic exclaimed from—well wherever he was— just as you destroyed the third three pointer you had found since the fourth faux villain showed up. You wiped off the sweat from your forehead, and left the battle center to change out of your tank top and running shorts into something less…. sweaty.
On the way to the apartment, you stopped by your house. Thankfully, no one was home. It was always so melancholy being here. You wrote a letter for your parents explaining that you got accepted into a special facility that trains young teens to be flawless villains, and that it was a dormitory system. Of course this was a complete lie, but they didn’t know that.
If someone were to ask about your family, you would say “My dad is Anyo, he works at a hotel. My mom is Ira, she has an office job for a clothing manufacturing company. My brother is Saeyoung, he works at a fast food restaurant.” But these are just cover ups (although those are their real names). The truth is this: “My dad is Tsukadon- the villain who is widely known for specializing in kidnappings and taking hostages. My mom is Poinsettia- A dangerous villain known for many large scale robberies. Then my brother is Dagger- A feared villain with the blood of many on his hands.” But of course, nobody outside of the Tsukira’s knew about your villainous family tree. Well.. almost nobody else.
You stopped looking around and started to leave. You knew that if you got accepted into U.A you could never step foot into this house without a tremendous amount of guilt tagging along, and you couldn’t bear to wait until your dad came home from his mission to tell him face-to-face that you were leaving. So with that, you put all of your necessities into one of your mom’s smaller duffle bags and went to the apartment.
‘The apartment’ was one of Kira and Fijoshi’s vacation houses. Kira and Fijoshi are (admittedly) the first people to show you kindness in your life. They also happened to be the people who convinced you to apply to U.A, so they definitely had some major importance in your life. You took the key to the apartment (they had given you a key months ago since you came over so often) and went in. At first it was intimidating being in such a fancy place, but soon all of the staff and workers knew you and were very friendly, so it felt very comfortable and natural to be there.
“Hello (y/n) -chan” The elderly man at the desk greeting warmly. You had already started going by (y/n) as a nickname for a long time, but only recently was it on your legal documents as well. “Hey Hitashi-san.” You smiled back. Hitashi was kind of like the father figure of the staff. Although he wasn’t technically boss, everyone agreed that he seemed like the most fitting for the job. “Here to see Etsuiro Kira and Tatsuzo Fijoshi, I presume?” He said warmly. “Actually I’m going to be living with them for a couple years.” You answered. You figured it would be weird for you to suddenly be staying as a resident with no explanation, and you knew Hitashi wouldn’t interrogate you for why, so he was the best person to tell.
“Oh, that’s wonderful. But before I can allow you to go upstairs, you must tell me— who is this.” He held up a picture of a young American man with dark brown hair and slightly dark skin. To anyone else, this would seem completely random, but to you and Hitashi this was a tradition every time you came into the building— and yeah, that was pretty often.
The first few times Hitashi was just seeing if your wild statements about pretty much having a photographic memory when it came to names and faces were true— and they were. You didn’t know why or how but as soon as you saw someone and knew their name, you could never forget. Now it was tradition and competition.
“That’s Carter, your grandson.” You said with a confident smile. “Well, you’ve won again. What is that? 0 to 500?” He laughed. You laughed a little along with him. “Hmm, now this, this is Ritsu. She was my first girlfriend in high school.” He said as he handed you a photograph. It was a picture of a school girl (maybe a year or two older than you) with blonde hair, and a sweet smile.
“Hmm..” You said, studying the photograph a bit more before handing it back to him. “What’s wrong? Think that I’ll win this round?” He said cockily, putting both pictures back into the desk drawer with his name on it. “No it’s just.. you sure your wife is okay with you having a picture of your ex-girlfriend at work?” You teased. You tried being serious, but you couldn’t stop yourself from smiling. Usually, it would be extremely disrespectful to say this to your elder, you knew that much about the culture, but Hitashi and you both knew it was just childish banter— nothing hurtful.
“Haha, okay go see your only, adult, friends.” Hitashi said sarcastically, shooing you off.
Ouch.
You went down into the hallway where the stairs and elevators were. There were four in total but one of them went to specific rooms like the pool, game room, movie room, etc. and the penthouse. The penthouse just happened to be where your ‘adult friends’ as Hitashi said, lived.
You pressed the key for that elevator, put the key in the lock next to the button, and went upstairs.
No matter how many times you entered and left this building, the difference between this building and your house felt surreal. Your house was somewhat similar to a stereotypical poor person’s house with the wooden walls rotting from being exposed to rain and heavy weather for so many years, the noisy sounds of electronics running 24\7 just to make sure it’s a decently safe place to live, and a front yard that just screams ‘This place is practically haunted’. Besides that, if it just so happened that your entire family was home, then the house would just feel crowded (and your family wasn’t even that big, only four people in total!), but most of the time you were alone there, and then it just felt lonely and eerie.
This place on the other hand? It was big and spacious! But even if you were alone (which only happened a couple times) it felt comfy, so you didn’t feel completely lonely (although you had to admit, that feeling of loneliness never really left you).
The elevator doors opened to the living room, and a gorgeous one at that. Most of the walls were glass and looked out onto the city, you could even see U.A. There were white couches, glass tables, and a big television. The place was incredibly well decorated, and was such a welcoming view to walk in on.
“Hey (y/n)!” Kira greeted, getting up from the couch. She was looking through a few binders filled with pictures, but you couldn’t see what of from where you were.
“Hi Kira- ack!” You said, being trapped by a strong and tight—yet warm and welcoming— hug. “So, did you do it?” She asked after releasing you from the embrace.
You took a deep breath in and sighed it out. “Yeah, I did.” You said, trying to hide a slight smile creeping onto your face.
“Yay!” She gleamed, “I’m so proud of you!” “Heh, well I only took the entrance exams. It’s not like I got accepted, there’s no need to praise me,” You shyly said. “But I know how difficult it was for you to even apply— let alone go through with it— with all of the pressure around you from your family. Don’t get me wrong, Fijoshi and I would still support you even if you didn’t apply.” She reassured you.
Hearing her talk about your family almost made you want to cringe. You see, along with being the first people to be nice to you, they were the fist people you told about your family— which was extremely risky because they were a hero duo.
They weren’t all too well known yet, but still a duo worthy of respect among the authorities. They called themselves ‘Mountainous’ since both of their quirks have to to with the ‘earth element’ or whatever. .Kira’s quirk is she can turn anything into stone and Fijoshi’s quirk is he can reshape the ground within a 2 mile radius.
Although they did spend a good amount of time in Shizuoka, they’re agencies were based in Tokyo, so they were better known there (still not popular enough to be ‘Main stream’ though, according to society at least). They were ranked as 51st of the most popular heroes in Japan. Not terrible but not amazing.
You both sat on the couch and changed the conversation to something more casual until she exclaimed, “Oh! I totally forgot! I need your advice” as she ran off to get a binder full of themes and decorations for a celebration. But not just any celebration.. a wedding.
“For the music, should it be mostly upbeat and pop\hip-hop or jazz and slow?” She asked, having her planning notebook open and ready for your input. “Definitely mostly upbeat. It’s a happy celebration! The guests should want to get up and dance, not just sit there with old, boring music playing.” You said. She nodded and wrote that down, agreeing with your choice.
“I know I’ve said this like a million times, but I’m so happy you guys are getting married! I remember I thought you were already married when I first met Fijoshi.” You said happily. They had been a couple for past two years you’ve known them, but six months ago you finally convinced Kira to propose to him (you knew he would be too nervous to be able to propose) and the wedding was in about a year and two months.
Normally, you didn’t care about these kind of things, but with Kira and Fijoshi it just felt right! They had to be together! It felt like the world wasn’t working right if they fought or just were away from each other too long— and you weren’t even apart of their relationship! You were just watching from the sidelines. You couldn’t even begin to imagine how happy they must feel together.. but romance wasn’t something for you to be apart of. It just seemed too uncharacteristic of yourself to have such a sweet and cutesy relationship. You never liked relying on anyone else too much, and you certainly didn’t need a significant other to be happy. Hell— you didn’t need happiness in the first place to live.
“Thanks (y/n), but really I mean it when I say you are the reason we are so strong together. And not just because you convinced me to propose” she paused for a moment to laugh and you laughed a little too, “but because you seriously are like family. Although.. I do want you to have some friends your age. When you get into U.A— and believe me, you will, I’ve seen you fight— can you promise me you’ll try and make some real friendships? If not for yourself then for me?” She asked sweetly, holding your hands. You wanted to say you didn’t need friends. You wanted to say you were fine on your own. But— her sweet tone was something that was impossible to deny. You completely understood how Fijoshi felt in these situations..
“I promise, I’ll try. But… no guarantees that I’ll succeed.” You said, slightly sadly. Any normal person wouldn’t be able to see past your walls you’d built so terrifyingly high.. but Kira knew just how to break enough of it down to see some of your true emotions, or at the very least the ones you weren’t too careful about hiding. “You may be raised by.. not so nice people.. but (y/n), you are one of the kindest girls I know. Trust me, your classmates will love you.” She reassured. You nodded but didn’t necessarily believe her. Not completely at least.
“Well, I’m gonna make some dinner. Fijoshi should be home in about 20 minutes, he had to pick up some files. The only thing scarier then a villain attack is.. paperwork.” She joked, standing up to go to the kitchen. You grabbed your bag that was next to you on the couch and went to go unpack in your room.
Once all of your clothes were in the dresser, your electronics (which was just your phone and a laptop your mom stole for you) were on your desk, you laid down on your bed and looked up at the ceiling.
Now all that's left to do is.... wait.

My personal story for Silver and Blaze
Tumblr media
((This is going to be the story I’m using for the main RPs behind these two. Keep this in mind.
Let’s start from Silver’s beginning. As you know, he’s from 200 years in Sonic’s future. What Silver’s future is like has been inconsistent across the board. Sonic 06 and Generations says it’s post apocalyptic, but according to Sonic Colors, it’s a bright one. Well since technically Sonic 06 isn’t canon, but Crisis City is still around, I will go with this.
Tumblr media
Crisis City was originally Silver’s home. Silver would tend to go about and greet people with smiles and waves, but little does he know that they’re secretly afraid of him because of his powers. He didn’t mind though as he spends time playing around with his powers a bit or just reading stories.
Tumblr media
That is until the day the city was attacked by Dr. Nega Robotnik (A.K.A Eggman Nega). Nega has been confirmed to be originally from Silver’s timeline, despite the fact he debuted in Sonic Rush. We’ll get to that later. Nega wanted to achieve success in robotics along the lines of his other ancestors, most notably Professor Gerald Robotnik. However, his projects were rejected due to the fact that he’s a descendant of the infamous Dr. Ivo Robotnik (A.K.A Dr. Eggman). Because of this, Nega decided to accomplish what his ancestor failed to do, which is dominate the world. After creating his robotic army, he sets sights on random cities, among of which is Crisis City. Knowing about the attack, Silver appeared to try to fend off the robots. Even though he fought well, even taking down one of the more powerful robots, Silver couldn’t save the city due to the fact that he’s just starting out in a battle, let alone being a hero in general, and that Nega’s mindset is (”If I can’t have it, no one can!”) and basically used hidden bombs and flamethrower bots to destroy the city, thus making Silver watch everything reduced to flames. Yeah unlike Ivo, Nega won’t hesitate to destroy everything if he finds out he can’t have his own way, regardless of the consequences alongside it.
Tumblr media
Wanting to become stronger and inspire a new generation of freedom fighters, Silver left his home to train. During his travels, he came across Angel Island. As he explored, he soon ran into a robot that suspected him for trespassing and trying to steal the master emerald, and attacked Silver. Silver did managed to damage the robot a bit, but it was no ordinary bot. It wasn’t until the bot was commanded to stop before the fight ended. That’s when Silver met the guardian of the Master Emerald...
Tumblr media
Shadow the Hedgehog. Yup, both him and the bot the Silver was fighting, E-123 Omega, are still around and became the new protectors of the Master Emerald after retiring from G.U.N and Knuckle’s inevitable death since keep in mind, this is over 200 years into the future. To me it also makes sense for Shadow to do this since he was born with chaos energy, he might have at least some connection with the master emerald, especially if Knuckles showed him the ropes before his passing. Silver points out that he meant no trouble and he just came to the island to train himself as Nega has begun his destruction/domination of the world. Both Shadow and Omega had a feeling a new threat would be approaching at some point later in their long lives. Shadow had watched Silver fight Omega and decided that his powers could be of use. Therefore, he decided to help train him to hone his abilities. Eventually, Silver became ready to fight back against the doctor, however only on his own as Silver and Omega prioritize themselves with the master emerald. They still communicate with each other with earpieces leftover from their time spent with G.U.N. They gave him Rouge’s old one because she’s...well...you know.
Tumblr media
Think of it as like Sonic Adventure where Silver just goes around doing missions set for him by Shadow, Batman Beyond style. Eventually, Silver managed to catch up to Nega and was about to bring him to justice. Unfortunately, Eggman Nega managed to escape using a new personal warping invention he made and used it to go back in time for a new plan, to erase the mistakes his ancestor made, which leads to the events of Sonic Rivals 1 and 2. Silver comes back to Angel Island to report to Shadow and Omega.
Tumblr media
Knowing full well about what might happen if he succeeds, Shadow decides to use chaos control to send Silver back in time to stop him before it’s too late, similar to how it’s done in Sonic 06. He also warns Silver to beware of his past self and not reveal how he ends up in the future because he knows that his past self isn’t the most cooperative person to deal with. Heck, even now that’s a bit of a stretch. He also gives Silver a special signal device to let Shadow know when it’s time to bring him back since their communicators won’t work when they’re that far back in the past.
Tumblr media
After the events of Sonic Rivals, Nega managed to escape to formulate a new plan to change the future. Fortunately, Silver managed to find out about it and Shadow sends him through time once again, thus proceeding the events of Sonic Rivals 2. At the end of Rivals, Silver and his companion, Espio, left Nega alone in a portal after foiling his plans with his ifrit,
Tumblr media
which is pretty much the game’s version of Iblis, minus his other half, Mephiles. That being said, I have heard someone theorize ifrit using its power to transport Eggman Nega to the Sol Dimension which would lead to the events of Sonic Rush, in which case...sure. I’ll go along with that. Now we get to the part where Silver and Blaze meet for the first time. After a while of helping rebuild the destruction Nega left in the future, Silver couldn’t help but shake the feeling that Nega is still out there somewhere. At some point, he returns to Angel Island to discuss it with his mentor, Shadow. Shadow admits that he doesn’t deny the possibility, especially if he recalls Sonic ever telling him about his travels in the Sol Dimension. He would probably put 2 and 2 together that the Nega there is the same person from here. Knowing how dangerous he is, Silver doesn’t want another world to suffer because of him. That’s when Shadow decides to bring out a secret treasure that he kept with him for years in secret...
Tumblr media
the phantom ruby. Shadow points out that with the power of the emeralds (especially with the master emerald present), he can send Silver across time, but with the phantom ruby, he can transport to anywhere in reality, even across dimensions. He and Omega kept it secret because even if one day they were to fail at protecting the master emerald, this could be used as a way to bring it back. That and they knew what might happen if it fell into the wrong hands as well. Like before, Shadow tells Silver to use his signal device once the mission is over, especially in this case where he would be sent across both time and space to reach Nega since he would still technically be in Sonic’s timeline while in the Sol Dimension, so you can imagine it’s going to take quite the amount of energy.
Tumblr media
Silver manages to end up on one of the islands on Blaze’s home world in the Sol Dimension. At first, he takes interest in the wildlife around him, seeing how similar or different they are compared to the ones at Angel Island, or at least at home before Nega’s attack. Soon, he remembers he has to focus and soon comes across a town/village (take your pick. I haven’t actually played Sonic Rush. I’m gathering info about it from online, so take what I say with a grain of salt. I’m trying my best, okay?). He starts going around and ask people about Nega to see if he’s around.
Tumblr media
Some people pointed out that they have either seen him or at least heard of him, but they’re not sure about where he is now since at the end of Sonic Rush Adventure, he was blown up after being defeated by their princess and her blue hedgehog companion. Silver has met Sonic before at this point at least once thanks to Sonic Rivals, so he does wonder if it’s the same guy. Regardless, this does confirm that Nega has been here for quite some time, but the question remains is whether or not he’s still around. Before he has much time to think about it though, pirates attack the place. And with Silver being Silver, he wastes no time to deal with them before leaving to the next nearby island. He basically starts searching around for clues, but with no luck in terms of actual concrete proof that he’s still here. That is until he comes across a huge mech threatening a young girl. Nega’s symbol on the bot was proof that it was one of his and not Ivo’s. While the girl isn’t afraid at all, she is clearly having a bit of trouble, so Silver goes in to help out. The severely injured mech barely escapes to make a report back to where it came from. The girl was thrilled by Silver’s powers and kept asking him random questions like who he was, where he came from, how he got his powers, ect. It didn’t take long for Silver to use his powers to hold her in place so she could calm down. Silver points out that he’s from another world, which prompted her to ask if he knew Sonic. As stated before, they have met, but they don’t really know each other all that much.
Tumblr media
The girl then introduces herself as Marine, future adventurer extraordinaire. Silver says it was nice meeting her, but he has to continue his search for Nega. Marine says she wants to help Silver find him since she was with Sonic and others when they fought him before. At first, Silver was against it since he while even though he’s not against the idea of relying on others, he didn’t feel it’s right to get people from this dimension involved with what he believes to be his mess. He does end up agreeing in the end though once Marine mentioned that she has a boat and can help him explore the world like a guide. That he knew someone like her is going to tag with him anyway.
Tumblr media
Meanwhile at the hidden base, Nega notices that one of his mechs has been thrashed rather quickly, since it hasn’t been that long since he sent this one out. As he inspects the damage, the mech shows a recording of what happened. The reveal of Silver being in this dimension shocked him, as he has no clue on how he got here nor how he figure out that he was here to begin with. Regardless, his nemesis is hunting him down, and he won’t tolerate another failure. He sends all the bots he created on high alert and to track down Silver. He is now wanted, dead or alive. Heck, I’ll even come up with a quote for it.

“I don’t care if you have to burn down every forest on every island to bring him out. FIND. ME. THAT. HEDGEHOG!!!”
Tumblr media

Once they got to the next island, it didn’t take long before they were attacked by pirates again, who are after Silver for the bounty placed on him by Nega if they managed to get him. After defeating one of the pirate leaders, Silver came across a strange gem that was left behind. Even though it appeared different to the super emeralds on Angel Island, he can still feel some form of power from it. That’s when a person comes in, demanding that he hands over the gem to her. At first, Silver was reluctant as to why he should, but the person said that her responsibility is to keep those safe. After hearing that, he does so, much to her surprise. Silver points out that she’s probably the guardian of the emeralds here and knows better than to get in her way. That and he doesn’t really need them since his only priority is going after Nega. Once she finds out that he knows Nega, she questions him on who he is and he introduces himself similarly to how he did so with Marine. Even the part about not really knowing Sonic all that well. Silver decided that while it was nice meeting her, it was time for him to leave and rendezvous back with Marine. Blaze was still curious about him, so she decided to follow behind. It wasn’t until Marine ran past Silver and hugged Blaze that he realized he was being followed. While Blaze is happy to see Marine again, she still questions Silver about how he knows about Nega and why he’s after him. Silver tells her that he’s on a mission to bring him back to his world now that he found out that he’s been hiding here for so long. Blaze is still a bit suspicious, but Marine tells her that he’s a decent guy and they should help him hunt down Nega as she knows full well he’s up to no good again. Blaze agrees for now, but she will be keeping an eye on him. This is getting longer than expected so, I’ll hold the rest off for another part later on.))

DEATH BATTLE Review: Nightwing vs. Daredevil.
The ninety ninth battle. It’s been what?- Almost eight years, and we’ve come this far. This episode is just… full of a lot of firsts. Like it being the very first Live-Action Battle. Two acrobats, fighting it out in the arena. One will live, and the other……… will be resurrected because let’s face it, this is comic books.
Nightwing′s Preview.
Nightwing: The first Robin, and the first one to leave the nest… Er, cave, as it were. We know how this goes, we see some background and a quick overview of his stats.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We get a rundown of some of the things he’s done, and some of the feats he has. We also get the backstory as to him falling out with Batman, and his graduation to become Nightwing.
Tumblr media
Especially since we also get to see how Bruce failed a second time to keep a Robin by his side…
Tumblr media
(Red Hood vs. Winter Soldier confirmed?)
Nightwing’s arsenal also gets a page, much like many other previous characters.
Tumblr media
By the looks of it, only the variants in the Wing-Dings will give Nightwing an edge at all.
Tumblr media
And Nightwing’s feats put him ahead of the game. These are quite impressive for just a regular human with intense acrobatic and martial arts training.
Tumblr media
(I’m starting to get the feeling that being able to sneak around Superman is becoming less and less of an impressive feat. But sneaking around Batman is an impressive feat. Give that guy a taste of what he give Commissioner Gordon for a change!)
Overall, Nightwing seems very primed for this battle. It honestly feels like a great way to introduce the character, and unlike his mentor, Nightwing actually possesses a sense of humor and (to me, personally) a lot more likable.
The end line is from when he introduced himself to Starfire after she got flung into the future. Remember that episode?- Man, I miss that show.
Daredevil′s Preview.
Daredevil has an edge or two right off the bat. As a kid who trained to be like his father, he was a pretty good acrobat and fighter. Plus, he’s got a good Netflix show. And thanks to that, I’m sure we all know his backstory. Boxing dad, chemicals in the eyes, superpowers, rigged match gone awry, and dead parents. Because what’s a superhero without dead parents?
Tumblr media
(What do comic book creators have against parents?)
But anyways, on to the more kick-ass stuff.
Tumblr media
Matt’s overall stats gives him an edge in height and weight. But that’s not going to mean much unless he has some abilities and skills to back him up.
Tumblr media
So by the looks of it, they’re both equal in terms of being at peak human physique, and are fairly even in martial arts skills. Daredevil’s radar sense seems to also let him have a perfect detection of his surroundings, and we even get a comparison on how it works.
Tumblr media
Overall, his arsenal is what would really set him apart.
Tumblr media
Considering that this isn’t as versatile as Nightwing’s arsenal, it says a lot about how much Daredevil relies on his powers and skills to win fights.
And his feats are quite something to be impressed about.
Tumblr media
(So they’ve both broken concrete. Good to know).
End line is something from his series. At least, I think so… It’s been a while since I last watched it.
The Battle Itself.
There is no animator for this Live-Action battle. Nightwing will be portrayed by Danny Shepard while Daredevil will be portrayed by Tyler Tackett. This is also a co-lab with ismahawk, who made a five-part Nightwing fan series. So, look out for references to that. Devil of the Night is composed by Brandon Yates.
So, for this being the first live-action battle, there’s a lot of firsts. And the battle opens with Nightwing trying to sneak up on Daredevil, but it not working because… it’s Daredevil.
The primary reason for the fight starting is because they’re both after a briefcase that is important to a case they’re both working.
Tumblr media
(Honda: If you hit the trunk, it’ll open).
We get a staredown, and then the action starts.
Tumblr media
So, both of them seem to be fairly evenly matched at the start. And the acrobatic work is pretty good too.
Tumblr media
Now, you’ll have to excuse me, because I am not exactly an aficionado in live-action fights like this. I’ve been spoiled by the high-budget movies, and high-budget CGI, so I might not be the greatest expert here. Since these sort of live-action comic shows are typically more story-driven than action-driven, it feels a bit… slow.
an aspect about the fight that I don’t really like is that the battle has pauses for brief moments.  While I get that it’s so that the actors can catch their breath, it feels out of place here. Had this been a gun fight, where the combatants would be taking cover behind different objects, there would be a better justification. But here… it feels really out of place.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(At least we get some flips. Every Death Battle needs at least two good flips to feel real (Dammit Torrian, you’ve spoiled us viewers with your choreography and flips)).
Tumblr media
And Nightwing’s tech gives him something to figure out about DD. He’s got some sort of anomaly in his brain, and he [Nightwing] is about to formulate a hypothesis. Because he has been trained by Batman.
Tumblr media
The little wrestling portion seems to have dislocated Daredevil’s shoulder, but true to Daredevil fashion, he just fixes it himself. What a boss.
Anyways, Nightwing seems to be eager to test his hypothesis by rendering the arena completely dark. And neither fighter is hindered a bit. Daredevil’s super senses and Nightwing’s nightvision tech essentially make the darkness moot.
Tumblr media
And just as Nightwing is about to attack, Daredevil deflects the weapons, just like how it was mentioned that he could do back in his rundown.
Tumblr media
(The wing-dings landed in a car’s door)
The battle rages on until it Daredevil pins Nightwing down and is ready for a finishing blow in
5…
4…
3…
2…
1…
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Nightwing uses the sonic wing-dings from before and overloads Daredevil’s senses before taking him down.
By the way, that last shot there is a reference to the Nightwing series by ismahawk (I told you to look out for references)
Tumblr media
(Jeez, Dick. You just killed a blind guy).
Verdict + Explanation.
So, overall, most of the fight was dead even. Nightwing took strength thanks to several of his feats like keeping the jaw of a shark closing in on him, and Daredevil took speed thanks to his bullet deflection narrowly outpacing Nightwing dodging gunfire.
Tumblr media
And in terms of arsenal and equipment, they were also pretty even. Neither suit would be hindered by electricity, and both were very durable.
But much like Spider-Man vs. Batman, only one of them had something that would stop the other in their tracks. Much like how Spider-Man’s spider-sense renders Batman’s stealth useless, Nightwing’s sonic wing-dings would cause a sensory overload on Daredevil’s end.
Tumblr media
And the way that Nightwing could deduce it also plays a minor factor. As he is a smart cookie, and his mask sensor would let him know something was up.
Tumblr media
Some notecards also indicate that Nightwing could also take advantage of other aspects of Daredevil’s powers, and turn them against him. Effectively reducing Daredevil to just sonar, smell, and other senses outside of his ultra-sensitive touch.
Tumblr media
In the end, both fighters were very even, making really feel as if it could go either way, but Nightwing’s detective skills and varied arsenal ended this bout.
Overall impression.
Overall, it feels like a big factor was a variant of the “He’s Batman” argument, but after going back and listening to the explanation a few more times, it became a lot more clear that between the two of them, fifty-five times out of a hundred, Nightwing would come out on top.- At least, that’s how it came off to me.
The pauses in the fight didn’t really feel appropriate, but for a first live-action battle, it was really great. Overall, I’d say that it earns a good 8.6/10. It doesn’t have the same feel as other battles, and I feel that it would take some getting used to. So really, 8.6/10, with some room to grow.
Next Time…
To be honest, I wasn’t sold on battle 100. I was honestly expecting something like Samus vs. Master Chief, Galactus vs. Unicron, Darkseid vs. Thanos, Ruby vs. Maka, or even Wario vs. Rouge. Heck! I was also expecting something like Jaune vs. Tucker, or Danny Phantom vs. Jake Long! But this… This was unexpected. It took a comment on the site to really sell me on it, and even then, I’m still a bit hesitant.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So yeah. Mario vs. Sonic. It’s happening again. While I’m more looking forward to seeing Wiz and Boomstick, it took this comment to really make me see this as not being a waste of time:
Tumblr media
So, while I can understand why they tried to hype it up, it took some convincing.
Is there a fight that you want me to review? - Send an ask/request, and I’ll look into it!

A new rematch.

you will see your beauty every moment that you rise ; 3
“Do you, like,” Mista coughs, “I mean, when you say I’m… irreplaceable. Do you mean it?”
   “I don’t say things I don’t mean, Mista.”
“No, I know that, I know, but…I don’t know. Haven’t been feelin’ it lately.”
mista recovers from injury the old-fashioned way.
read under the cut or on ao3!
you don’t see what you possess,                                          a beauty calm and clear
“Fuck, fuck, owch! God, when did it get so hard to sit up?”
“After you were stabbed and shot yourself three times.”
Bucciarati sets a bowl of pasta on the nightstand beside Mista, who has been bedridden since yesterday. Since Giorno hasn’t been around, out on a lengthy interrogation mission himself, Mista’s had to recover from his injuries the old-fashioned way--bandaged up and in bed until Giorno returns this evening. Although Mista’s never been one to keep quiet about the pain of the injuries inflicted on him -- usually by himself -- he’s always managed to adhere to his bed rest.
Today, however, something seems off about him. It’s not in his manner of speech. It’s not overt in his actions. But Bucciarati can feel it in his gut, a hunch that something is amiss. Still, he doesn’t mention it, and he doesn’t plan to until he must. Besides, he doesn’t have any concrete evidence that his hunch is more than a hunch, so he leaves it be.
Bucciarati lends Mista a hand after a long moment of the other’s struggling, propping him up with a couple of pillows to make sure he’s comfortable. Luckily, Bucciarati is able to stay home and make sure Mista doesn’t hurt himself further today--the gang has, for the most part, been given a few days off now that they took care of their last assignment.
“Thanks, Buch,” Mista grunts out once he manages to get himself upright. His hands are still a bit shaky, so Bucciarati also takes it upon himself to set the bowl in Mista’s lap, making sure it doesn’t fall and spill on him while he’s in no state to undress himself.
“Never a problem, Mista,” Bucciarati gives him a small smile. “Although I must say I do wish you would be less reckless when it comes to these missions. You are irreplaceable as a gunslinger and as a teammate.”
Mista seems to scoff at that, but it’s hard to tell as he shoves a forkful of pasta into his mouth. “Yeah, yeah,” he rolls his eyes. Even with his mouth full, his usual joking tone falls flat today. Bucciarati’s brows pinch subtly with concern. He stands for a moment, waiting to see if Mista elaborates further. But then the other looks at him with a brow cocked, and Bucciarati decides to treat it as a harmless tease. He tells himself that if Mista needs something, he’ll let him know, and then he turns to leave.
Just upon reaching the door, he hears a, “wait a sec” behind him. Bucciarati turns his head, peering at Mista expectantly. The other sets the bowl down on his lap. He’s content with letting the heat radiating off of it soothe his aching legs. He stares into it, stirring the pasta mindlessly as if the words he needs are hiding in it. It’s odd to him, the feeling of asking for support, because he doesn’t often need it. The muddled quality of these shitty thoughts in his head is getting to him.
“Do you, like,” Mista coughs, “I mean, when you say I’m…irreplaceable. Do you mean it?”
“I don’t say things I don’t mean, Mista.”
“No, I know that, I know, but…I don’t know. Haven’t been feelin’ it lately.”
Bucciarati turns fully, approaching the bed and, after a moment, sitting tentatively at the foot of it. He gives Mista a look that urges him to continue. Mista searches his pasta for more words like he’s already said all the ones he had to offer. Like the ones he has to say won’t carry the emotion behind them well enough. It has been a long time since he’s felt so weighed down. To be downtrodden and blue is unusual for him, and it always has been.
“I guess it’s just been like...I dunno. After that last mission, I’m really wondering if I’m more of a liability than a teammate.”
“You’re not a liability at all,” Bucciarati shakes his head. He can’t even begin to fathom why Mista would doubt himself in such a way. “You’ve always been a crucial part of our success.”
“Yeah, but...since Giorno came around and I’ve been relying on his stand more and more, I guess I’ve been thinking more about wins and losses. You and him, you have this ability to lead confidently. If I get an order from either of you, I just know it’s the right thing, you know? Fugo’s super smart, and Narancia and Abba have these crazy useful abilities, and I guess I’m like…” Mista scratches the back of his head, which is, uncharacteristically, devoid of his hat. “What the hell do I do? Play with guns and then get hurt because I aim ‘em the wrong way?”
Mista sighs deeply. Shakes his head, and then struggles to put the bowl on the table next to him, opting to hug a pillow instead. “Now that Gio’s not here to fix me up on the spot and I had to limp my way to the getaway car, I guess it’s setting in. I feel like I dragged everyone down, and it would’ve been so much easier if I was better at not getting hurt. Feels like it’s that way most of the time.”
Bucciarati’s hit suddenly with the memory of holding a limp Giorno in his arms, head hung low. Narancia was bleeding out down the aisle, Mista was passed out against a seat. Sardinia had been within reach. And he recalls blaming himself, barely maintaining his composure in front of Trish. He recalls the feeling of his father losing his battle for life in a hospital bed. The sight of him being wheeled away with severe injuries, the struggle of fighting the nurses barricading him from going along.
“I suppose I understand why you would feel that way,” Bucciarati swallows, carefully choosing his next course of action. Mista’s too busy berating himself, staring down at his bandages, to notice Bucciarati’s hesitation. “But I assure you that your injuries were not for naught. We still came out of the mission alive.”
Mista shrugs weakly in response, and it pulls at Bucciarati’s heartstrings to see him so subdued.
“Do you remember the day that Abbacchio was flying us to Sardinia, and in a matter of minutes, I’d almost lost all of you?”
Mista tries to pick out the memory from the fragments he has of Giorno’s first eight days. It feels like a fever dream, hazy and distant. “Sorta, yeah. I mean, I remember shooting that fugly meat mass in the face and then passing out. And I remember waking up when we’d already landed.”
“Giorno had lost both of his arms at the time. Narancia was bleeding out. It was just Trish and I sitting in the aisle, thinking we’d rid ourselves of that monstrosity, and the first thing I did was blame myself,” Bucciarati admits, crossing his legs as he casts his gaze down to his lap. “I sat there, and I said to myself, ‘this all happened because of me. Because I was naive enough to believe we would be safe on a plane.’”
Mista picks his head up at that, a hint of passion returning to his eyes. “What? That’s crazy, you had no idea stands like that even existed! You were just doing what you thought would be best to keep us safe. And it paid off in the end, because look at us. Everyone’s alive, that shit-eating boss is dead, and you and Giorno are great at leading the new Passione.”
“Well,” Bucciarati locks eyes with Mista again, “I could say the same to you. I understand you when you say you feel like a liability. But things did not get dangerous just because of you. You chose your actions because you believed they were best. Our work has gotten more challenging now that we’re at the top.”
“Yeah,” Mista can’t formulate a solid argument to that. It’s true that it’s been hard work to rebuild Passione, and life as a gangster is always going to be difficult. “I guess you’re right.”
“I wouldn’t have recruited you if I didn’t trust your judgment. You are able to make calm and clear decisions, even in the face of true terror. And,” Bucciarati stands, but he maintains eye contact and shoots Mista a smile, “you have some of the best determinazione I’ve ever seen.”
Mista beams back at him. “Thanks, Bucciarati.”
“Of course. Now get some rest, alright? Giorno should be home within the hour.”
Bucciarati heads downstairs, confident that he’s assuaged some of Mista’s insecurities. And Mista, newly reassured in his unwavering determinazione, decides that he better rest up so he can get back on the field as soon as possible.
(Still, the ego boost goes right to his head. And Bucciarati ends up rushing right back upstairs when he hears a yowl of pain as Mista decides to lay back down way too quickly.)

shiro thoughts? theories?
This is my thoughts on where is or at least what I think happened in S3. I’m sorta just rambling, but I feel quite strongly about this. Anyways, idk if anybody had mentioned this before (I'm sorta new) but in S1E1 we have our lovely Takashi Shirogane, yes? Just as he and Pidge are freeing the prisoners, drones begin to attack them.
Tumblr media
As you can see, Shiro is ready to fight but you can see the considerable amount of fear in his eyes. Then his arm turns on and in 5 seconds his demeanor changes
Tumblr media
He suddenly has this more threatening look on his face. He begins fighting without hesitation compared to earlier when he was in a more defensive stance. He defeated those drones in less than 30 seconds without any drone landing a single blow on him.
Tumblr media
Clearly, this isn’t the first time he’s fought before and he learns this later in ep3.
So what I’m thinking is that Shiro’s Galra arm has a direct link to his brain. Specifically his memories. Maybe one of the reasons why Shiro doesn’t remember so many memories while he was in the Galra empire was because as they were tampering with his arm, they were also tampering with his head.
I think right after he defeated Myzax (the gladiator with the orb and scepter) was when his arm was taken away from him. The Galra would love to see how this human defeated one of the most feared and powerful gladiators and how to make this earthling stronger in order to be used for the empire.
Shiro has forgotten most of his time there because that battle was the first or at least one of the first battles he’s fought in the arena. So once Shiro is being experimented on the Galra make it so he doesn’t remember anything except that he is in the hands of the Empire and will fight for them. Haggar and the druids also made it so that Shiro would only use that arm in gladiator battles or during experimentation. Because of that, he remembers so little significant memories. just bits and pieces. The activation of his arm in ep1 triggered his aggressive fighting side that the druids wanted him to have. The reason why Shiro's hearing was so distorted when his arm turned on was probably because he has never used his arm outside of the arena and without the druids.
How come Shiro was able to activate the arm? Because of Ulaz.
I think Ulaz was very involved with Shiro’s experimentation and arm.
Tumblr media
You can see how his outfit isn’t exactly “battle friendly.” He’s definitely more of a scientist than a fighter since he doesn’t have that traditional battle uniform (kinda like the drones). It’s possible that if Ulaz was overseeing some of Shiro’s experimentation that he tampered with the functionality of the arm so that Shiro could activate it on his own without the mental consequences (not remembering anything). Or the coordinates he implanted into Shiro’s arm also had some sort of virus or code that overrode the original settings of the arm.
Now, season 3 is a bit tricky. If Shiro in S3 is not S1/S2 Shiro, then it is possible the Galra still have the original Shiro and are continuing to modify his arm. But why would they let one clone go? What is the point? Throughout seasons 1 and 2 Zarkon and Haggar weren’t the most strategic but rather relied on brute force. Shiro/Kuron isn’t exactly the strongest person to defeat Voltron. However, guess which fellow Galra is strategic and can think leagues above his opponents?
Prince Lotor.
It is possible that Lotor is behind Operation Kuron. In S3E5, it showed Shiro/Kuron’s journey and Prince Lotor being spied on because of Haggar questioning his agenda. We still have no idea what he is doing. I’ve seen theories of Lotor creating an antivoltron which I can definitely see. Anyways, isn’t it strange to put in some of Lotor’s characterization into an episode that is focused on Shiro? We see Lotor so strongly against his father and insight into his hidden agenda. Shiro is also against zarkon. Throughout S1 and S2 we see Shiro constantly fighting Zarkon for a stronger bond with the Black Lion. Then in S3E5 we see that Shiro/Kuron is under a more elaborate plan.
Tumblr media
This dude. When we see Galra commanders, we usually see them mention Haggar and Zarkon by name. They usually say “Lord Zarkon.” But here he says “Notify command headquarters.” Command headquarters might just be under Lotor’s leadership. Yeah you may argue that this guy’s uniform is very Galra and the drones Shiro/Kuron fought looked the same as the ones in Zarkon’s ship. However, Lotor still has access to the resources of the empire despite being “exiled.” His ship even has the same protocols as a Galra fighter. Here’s another post about how he might have gotten the information about Operation Kuron. This entire operation seems to have a lot of thought put into it which makes me think Lotor is behind this whole missing Shiro.
I’m gonna bring the DotU comics into this...
Tumblr media
In the comics, Sven works directly with Lotor. They actually work somewhat well together and became allies to work against Voltron. It is possible that Merla was controlling Sven with her mind control. Guess who has the ability to control people on Lotor’s squad? Narti. Also, Merla was working in part with Haggar. Guess who has a cat that looks exactly like Kova(Haggar’s cat). Narti. I’m not saying that she is the equivalent of Merla, but she has two traits that are similar to Merla.
Assuming Shiro/Kuron knows nothing of Operation Kuron, Lotor would use his charisma and manipulate Shiro into thinking negative thoughts about his “deteriorating” relationship with Team Voltron. And with the help of Narti’s mind control or implanting fake memories, Shiro’s mental state would be so out of whack that he’d consider joining Lotor’s team.
These are just my thoughts after rewatching some of season 1 and thinking too much about season 4 and Lotor and WHERE THE HELL SHIRO IS OR IF KURON IS SHIRO.

My favorite characters in snk
Hi ! I thought about sending my votes as an ask at first - but I just have so much love for these characters and shingeki no kyojin as a whole that I finally decided to share my thoughts ! (My very long thoughts. I hope this post is not too long.)
Now, before I begin : WARNING - THIS POST CONTAINS MAJOR SPOILERS FOR THE MANGA, anime-only fans beware
(Also, there’s a tldr at the end if you don’t wanna read my rambling haha)
1. Annie Leonhardt
Annie is one of my favorite characters of all animes. To be completely honest, I don’t exactly remember why she’s my favorite character, as she became it when I watched SnK’s first season, two or three years ago. But I’m pretty sure it has to do, first, with the fact that she is my favorite titan - the female titan. I love its design and its abilities (like creating that crystal armor thingy). I really like Annie herself, because of her fighting abilities and her cold demeanor. I love the fact that she deals with her guilt by isolating herself. I loved the scene at the end of season one when she transforms in Sina and laughs before and then that thing with her ring - that scene was insane. Also, “I guess I just want the weak who do get swept along with the flow to be considered human too”, god, gotta love that line (didn’t even need to look it up, i apparently memorized it).
She better get out of her damn crystal one day, I swear, I really want to discover what she’d do, if she learned about everything that happened since she’s been crystallized. (Or I’d like to see what would happen if the Survey Corps tried to manipulate her into betraying Marley and fighting on their side - could it work ? How would they achieve that ?) Basically, she hasn’t been there for like 70 chapters or something but I still love her lots and I still think she has a lot of potential.
2. Reiner Braun
My second vote goes to Reiner for many reasons. I didn’t notice him all that much in season 1 to be honest, but then I learned he was the armored titan, and then there’s the fact that at his core, he’s a really good person. He wants to protect people and help his comrades… so much that he develops a second personality, more or less - his guilt is breaking him. It’s sad that he finds himself in such a situation - he was led to believe the people within the walls were devils, but then, when he discovers most of them aren’t that bad, he has already caused the death of so many of them ? That’s horrible (and genius, don’t mistake me - I love that).
Now, where we’re at in the manga, he’s in a very unique place. He knows that Walldians (is that an official name for the people within the walls ? I don’t know but I’m using it, this is gonna make this easier) - so, I was saying, he knows that Walldians aren’t actually devils, but the people in Marley aren’t bad either. But it’s not like Walldians are sinless, good samaritains either - they killed Bertholdt, are keeping Annie prisoner… (does Reiner still thinks Annie’s being tortured, btw ? Did he ever find out that she’s just stuck in her crystal ?). I read somewhere that “he’s realizing there’s no good side” and I find this perfectly accurate. He’s kinda stuck, there’s not much he can do, and he’s also pretty much about to die (aren’t his 13 years almost over ?). Talking out of line, trying to tell people that Walldians aren’t worse than Marleyans, that exterminating them won’t restore Eldia’s honor or whatever, doing that would have no point - even if anyone believed him, it would put his family in danger and he’d be a traitor to both sides…
Also, I loved discovering his backstory. He enrolled in the warriors program for his family, for his mom, how cute is that ? His father is Marleyan too, that’s pretty interesting. And as a warrior in training, he was the underdog, he was far from being at the top of the class, that’s kind of a contrast from how he was in the Walldians’ military. His young friendship with Bertholdt was pretty cute too ! It’s nice to think that friendship evolved and got stronger, and to think that they could truly rely on each other when they probably felt so alone because they were traitors.
So, Reiner has got to be lonely now - because of what he knows about Walldians and because of what he lived inside the Walls, and because he is the only one to know those things and to have live that because Bertholdt is dead. I think he feels like nowhere is really home anymore, like he doesn’t have a place anywhere… Anyway. I’m rambling at this point, but yeah because of season 2 and the latest manga chapters (also his beard, at first I thought it looked odd lmaoo but now, god am I on board with this look…) he’s now one of my fave characters.
3. Ymir
Wow, I really love titan-shifters, don’t I ? Anyway. Season 2 wrecked me and amazed me and made me love Ymir so, so much. It caught me by surprise actually, i never thought I’d love her so much. But god - her backstory, her interactions with Christa, her characterisation… all of that made me totally fall in love with her. I feel like in a way, she’s the most original titan-shifter, because she was always kind of between the two sides - Walls and Marley. She’s not a warrior whose mission is to eradicate Walldians, but she’s not a fighter aiming to free the people of the Walls either. She literally fell onto the power of the titans by chance. She’s a titan-shifter that was never meant to become a titan-shifter and I love that.
I love her selfishness a lot. I love how she changed from a false god who died for her people to a girl that took a conscious decision to live for herself. I love how even though she wanted to live for herself, she still, still fell in love with Christa. I love how she revealed her secret and endangered herself to save Christa (in s2 ep 4 and 5). I love how she encourages people to be themselves and to live for themselves like she does. Also, I didn’t mention it in Reiner’s part, but that conversation :
“Ymir : I’m shocked. I was under the impression that you had no interest in women.
Reiner : Yeah. And it doesn’t seem like you have interest in guys, either.” YAAAAS MY QUEER SOUL IS THRIVING !!
Ahem. Anyway. Her whole scene in season 2 ep 10 with the sky just after she’s become human again after 60 years ? That was insanely beautiful. Also her titan form is pretty cool, I love that its strength lies not in its pure physical strength but in its small form and strong jaw. You have to be clever to use that titan and boy is Ymir clever as hell.
4. Pieck
(Wow, another shifter, what a surprise haha). So, this vote might seem surprising because Pieck has barely appeared, she has existed for less than like 5 chapters haha, but I actually already quite like her. I mostly like her for her potential - I’m really looking forward to learning more about her. I like that she forgot how to walk because she spent too much time in her titan form, that brings up new questions about the shifters and brings to light an interesting aspect of shifting (even though staying a long time in titan form might be an ability unique to the cart titan). With the way shifter heals, I think it’s like, one of the first time we learn about a physical consequence of another sort. Apart from that, I also like her because with Annie, they’re the only two women in the warriors (that possess a titan. That will probably change soon with Gabi but whatever. Still, Annie and Pieck are the only women of the “first generation” of shifters).
5. And that’s all !
I hesitated about voting for a fifth character too but in the end I couldn’t decide who I wanted to vote for. Here are some of the people I hesitated about : Hanji, because she’s crazy in the best way, because she’s excited and incredibly smart and curious and idk I just love her. Rico Brzenska, because no matter how minor a character she is, she is badass as hell, and she was really cool at the battle of Trost (or that one time when they used Eren to plug the hole in the wall, idk if I have the right name for it). Hitch, because I love how snide she is, idk. Bertholdt, because he’s discreet but nice, because his guilt makes him interesting (a bit like Reiner), because of his beautiful speech in season 2 ep 11. Levi, because - well, the same reasons as everyone, his strength but also his loyalty to his fellow soldiers, also because of that one manga scene of torturing that one guy with Hanji, also because of his face in s2 ep12 when he learns that titans are humans.
So, that’s it ! I’m looking forward to seeing the results of this poll but I’m gonna be happy no matter what because SnK is incredible and there is no bad character. I’m looking forward to season 3 and to the next manga chapters !
tldr ; so, i apparently like titan-shifters a lot, because my four votes go to : Annie Leonhardt, Reiner Braun, Ymir and Pieck. I couldn’t bring myself to choose a fifth person, I love too many characters haha.
