You voiced supervillain monologues for a year and a half?

I run a D&D campaign that's been going on for a good while now, and it actually has TWO BBEGs that I switch back-and-forth between to make sure the content stays fresh (and also to make my players shit their pants whenever they end up working together)

My players are currently butting heads with Atlas, the leader of a cult called the Circle of Embers. Atlas is also, notably, a red greatwyrm >:). A dragon made of more fire than flesh, with a wingspan that covers districts, eyes that burn with a hollowed out desperation. But Atlas spends most of their time polymorphed into the form of a royal human, carrying an incomplete adamantine blade.

They've caught the party off-guard a number of times by just how pleasant they are on the surface. When pushed to far, they show that their true colors aren't hatred, but pity. Atlas knows the world is fucked. Atlas just wants to give everyone a swift death first.

Atlas is mainly a threat to the party rn, because they actually have a claim to the throne. They used to be the Crown (As in King & Crown, instead of King & Queen) of the ancestral capital, before the city was entirely petrified. Now that they've returned, they've taken over the palace, overturned the public guard with knights of the Ember Circle, and have begun construction on a megalithic structure called the citadel, as a last-chance escape.

My other BBEG is named Sylas Carthion, or as he's more commonly known, the Mutant Lich. Sylas, in addition to being the King to Atlas' Crown, was the former overseer of a secret organization called The Blind Beholder. The Blind Beholder is a magic-regulation agency, keeping the weave intact after Mystra's death, and operating in an ever shifting labyrinth of industrial-revolution grade technology. They also decide what magic is and isn't legal. In particular, the complete and total elimination of Blood Magic.

Sylas *hated* this, for very good reason. Blood magic has a number of curative properties, and in particular, is one of the best treatments for lycanthropy. Blind Beholder didn't care. Blind Beholder killed them all. So Sylas turned into what they feared most. Mutated with enlarged eye sockets, extra segments in his limbs, and with three incredibly powerful blood curses at his disposal. Most famous being Mutagen 2, which turns corpses into fast, deadly, infective zombies. >:). Sylas is tired of secrets, and boy does the party have a lot.

The party put him "on hold" by transporting his phylactery fluid into a stasis chamber within the Blind Beholder's labyrinth. He constantly dies and regenerates with the fluid so he can't escape. I had meant for him to stay there a while longer buuuuuuuuuuut, you know D&D. Plans ALWAYS change

These two are the reason I occasionally randomly break out into "YOU SHOULD HAVE KILLED ME WHEN YOU HAD THE CHANCE" energy. It's a habit :3

So yeah, I know I am ten years late with Haven but the whole Nathan vs Duke is driving me mad. On one hand I am team Nathan, and can see that the touch thing just makes sense but then realistically...it's because she is immune to troubles so is that fate or simply convenient?

Buuuuut I did really like the interaction he had with Sarah and then how it was mirrored towards the end of season three with Audrey...

Take it from a girl who would consider both men a form of her type, I think Duke seems the better fit? Idk. Of course give the geeky guy a chance but Duke is so loyalllllll - he's always around, even if just to be there with her, helping out whatever way he can.

I always think about fandom materials as being official or fanmade. Anything licensed or coming from the creators who have been doing licensed works has an "authority" fanmade content never will.

It doesn't mark a distinction in quality between official and fanmade, it doesn't mark a distinction in continuity between official and fanmade, it doesn't even mark a distinction in popularity between official and fanmade - but it makes them different species. One of these produces official lore. The other is creative responses from people who like some or all of the lore.

I see official sources having different levels of influence, though. There's the major canon, the lynchpin of content. Then there's minor content - lesser-known, lesser-distributed, tie-in materials, etc. For thirsty lore-scrapers, what official creators say about their works provides scraps of knowledge that have more "say" than a fan's headcanons.

The scope of official material a fan wants to engage with is their own choice. They can choose their personal, mental formation of the world and how they interact with it. It doesn't change what's official and what's fanmade, but each fan chooses what they encompass in their scope of "personally relevant lore." And heck, sometimes a person's scope changes per conversation.

It's a little less odd when a fan ignores or never checks out some minor, lesser-known materials. That type of restriction is more common. Denying some of the lynchpin materials starts to look silly, whereas especially with larger franchises, there's no way a person is going to know the details behind all minor content - much less care if they're consistent talking about the lore from it. I do not give a crap if my Star Wars conversations contradict what happened in a 2001 comic I've never even heard about. But hey, if a stalwart OG Star Wars nerd says, "I only discuss Star Wars from the perspective of the OG trilogy and books before the mid 1990s," and they ignore even the prequel trilogy, they have chosen their own lore they encompass and that's fine.

Since the Raped script came from Dino Stamatopoulos's Myspace profile, and since I've heard both Raped and Narcissism were performed with a cast and crew reading, there's zero doubt these are official materials (unless what I've read about their origin is wrong). They can't be fanfiction on account of their very origin.

However, they're minor lore compared to completed Moral Orel episodes. They're easier to ignore when someone is encompassing their perspective of personally relevant Moral Orel lore. They have authority, but much less authority. It's obvious they're early drafts.

I feel like the question here is best framed as levels of authority - and all I care about is, "It's less authority but still an authority." YMMV, encompass it or don't encompass it into your lore considerations, have fun, just don't deny it's real and came from official dudes (because at that point that's denying facts).

Narcissism has the Moral Orel spark to it and I easily embrace its ideas. There are moments, lines, situations, and dialogue I genuinely love. Frankly, I don't like most of Raped's script, so I hope it would've been changed in its final content, so I'm not going to personally think about it as much when talking Moral Orel - though I will in the right conversations. But that's a personal choice of how I, an unofficial fan with no authority, embrace it, and has no bearing on the fact it's from official sources and has authority.

I really don't think about these scripts much from a Moral Orel perspective because I treat everything that would've happened in an extended S3, S4, and S5 as "could've changed." They're not in my everyday mental framework of "what truly happened in the world." They're there, they have authority, but I don't tend to imagine the Moral Orel world as ever having Grampa Puppington dying on Orel's bed, Sculptham as trying to marry prisoner Pistwell, or Reverend Putty having a one-night stand with Bendy.

This is Amaris, who is an old OC I refashioned to become Umbra's beloved younger sister :3 Her natural hair colour is dark brown / black just like Umbra's is, buuuuuuuuuuut due to some nefarious reasons* her hair turned white :D

As for her personality, I would say as a child + young teen, she was very peppy and even a bit rambunctious, always liking to compete with her friends and even Umbra's friends. And she always won -- whether fairly or... not so fairly. She was very loyal and protective over her loved ones, and had an obsession for dogs + wolves. Unfortunately, she went "missing" quite a few years ago. :3 But she might turn up again in Umbra's life :D

Her name means "child of the moon" so she's supposed to have more moon aesthetics ;w; I forgot to draw her her gold crescent moon pendant... or maybe she lost it 🤔 Or maybe even... it was taken away from her? It was a gift from Umbra 😔

*[spoilers] the nefarious reasons as mentioned, are due to her being experimented on by Umbra and Amaris' mother :D fun stuff. She's been put on a brainwashing drug so that she follows her mother's every command. Like a dog :D Her mother even granted her wish of becoming a dog/wolfgirl by surgically implanting those dog/wolf ears :D wow what a nice mother (/s)

Yeah anyways the white hair is one of the side effects from that drug :')

Yes, it's true that Vanilla's birth name is Ezekiel! His biological parents abandoned him at an orphanage, leaving him on the doorstep at 2 years old. He doesn't remember much, he doesn't even remember his biological parents' faces.

Yes, his biological parents are still alive. But he holds resentment in his heart for the torture he had to go through his entire childhood and adolescence.

In SCVB, Vanilla (Ezekiel) meets his cousin, Emmanuel. Emmi tells Vanilla that he's been looking for him for years. Emmi keeps calling Vanilla, "Ezekiel" much to his dismay because he associates that name with being screamed at by awful caretakers.

In the SHV, Vanilla explains to Tippy that "Vanilla Ice Cream" was a nickname given to him by a woman who wanted to be his mother. Unfortunately, Vanilla's life was one tragedy after another and he never got adopted. So, to honor her, he went by the name Vanilla Ice, and finally came up with a name for his stand, which is Cream. It may sound silly to those who don't know the story, but in Vanilla's heart, "vanilla ice cream" means so much to him.

So to answer your questions and try to stop my ramblings 😭, yes his birth parents are still alive, Emmanuel knows about what happened to Vanilla and wants to get to the bottom of why they abandoned him.
