If Meg were to try and count the things she's lost since first arriving to the fog... she'd be a counting for a very long time. Make no mistake about it - she's under no illusions as to how awful the Entity's realm is, and how damned she's been since the moment she first arrived. No hope, no escape, nothing to hold onto... at least, that's what any sane person would say.

But the one thing Meg refuses to lose is her spirit. A little spitfire - that's what they all called her when she was a kid, and now, that fire in her soul is the only thing she has left to prove that this place hasn't beaten her completely. She's still her. And although that 'her' may have changed so much that it's now almost unrecognizable... she can't give up on winning.

On escaping. Isn't that what it all comes down to? They've all shared their theories, exchanging those little scraps of hope around the campfire to keep themselves believing they might get out one day. The Entity isn't all-powerful - if it can grow stronger, it can grow weaker too. Just because they can't yet understand it doesn't mean it can't be understood. Whatever gets them through each trial - though maybe it's the fear of giving up that's the strongest motivator, in the end. What if a worse fate awaits them then...?

They all have to cling onto something, so Meg clings onto her pride. But it's not always enough. Consecutive losses have a way of breaking her spirit like nothing else does, and right now... she's been teetering on the edge of that borderline. So when she spots the familiar face of the Trapper, the crooked smile she gives... is just a little bit twisted.

"Perfect. I've been waiting too long to get my payback on you. Don't suppose you feel like giving up, and saving us the trouble?"

Trials of Ares au is my current bone that I'm knawing on like a rabid dog bcos guys it's so good for the theme of change and how it's never too late.

Instead of Lityerses being the pseudo-antagonist in the Dark Prophecy it could be Alabaster who is still bitter about losing the Titan War and clings to the Titans out of spite and stubbornness. He'd see Ethan having to help out Ares due to the dead soldier thing and try to 'help' by forcibly taking him back and maybe keeping him in a mistform card. And Ethan would fucking hate it because he can't move in the card so it would remind him of being frozen by Kronos, which is a perfect segway to talk about how Ethan sees a lot of Kronos in the Tri and he won't join the Tri because he doesn't want to subject himself to that kind of experience again. He realised how bad his situation was too late and he died for it, and he doesn't plan on making that mistake again, but AL IS ALREADY MAKING THAT MISTAKE AGAIN! AND IT ISN'T WORKING THE SECOND TIME! which can lead to discussions about how Meg and Ares left their bad situations and if they return to them, they'll be just as bad as Alabaster.

And Meg would probably be the common ground that Ares and Ethan are initially able to stop hating each other over. Ethan would see a lot his own history in Meg and would be motivated to help her get out of the Tri in the Dark Prophecy. He's been hurt by people he loved, he has gone through so much for their sake, but all his sacrifices stopped meaning anything to them the second he stopped being obedient. He'd be the first to tell Meg that it isn't worth it to ruin her own life to make her guardians happy. And Ethan and Meg's fraught relationships with their parents would force Ares to reflect on how his kids probably see him the same way Ethan sees Nemesis or Meg sees Nero and he'd get really angsty about it but the whole theme is CHANGE! Ethan left Kronos too late to save himself but he's Meg to escape the Tri just in time and if Ares doesn't resist change like Al, he can escape himself in time as well. It's only too late when your heart stops beating and until then, all you have is TIME! And the time thing could be a secondary theme that harkens back to the og series with Kronos as the main antagonist. He's the titan of time but he's obsessed with the past and bringing back a golden age that no longer fits into the world. He was trying to bring about change but he was moving backwards while Ethan was trying to move forwards; they were going in different directions which is why they couldn't work together and why Ethan died, but now Ethan is trying to push Ares FORWARD! And the Tri is also trying to move backwards! They're dead men trying to revive the times they lived in, they're trying to resist the passage of time instead of take advantage of it while the heroes are doing the opposite!

I think Lester would have an insanely strong immune system and only fever of, for example, 39°C could make him blank out after a few hours of being more than conscious (e.g. fighting monster); in any other circumstances, he acts like his head is not splitting in two while doing cartwheels non-stop and that he can perfectly understand what people are saying despite the fact that any bits of information does not register in his mind.

See, like I said, my version of his daughter would be a little sunshiny sweetheart, the total opposite of Danny. So I think her making Frank cry would be a result of her telling Frank how cool she thinks he is, how she wishes he could be her big brother, how they can share her daddy since he doesn't have one and her daddy is the bestest after all! :D
