@lightcreators sent: ❛ i've been thinking about us a lot lately. ❜ ( hades @ persephone )
Persephone was playing with the flowers in her garden. The small area that was for just her & Hades. Even if their children can come to this area, they tend to avoid it for their parents privacy. So when she heard him behind, Persephone wasn't scared by his voice or anything coming this way. "Have you now?" She asked, moving to stand up and turning toward him. Finally being home, being in her safe area, "What about us, my love?" She asked.

“I am ready, whatever may come.” - from jacaerys!
“well, you sound mighty confident.” persephone teased. she had seen enough heroes in her day to know when one was staring her in the face. “you got some big quest? some trial you gotta face? don’t tell me the gods put you up to it now.” heavens forbid hermes or dio put him up to something.

HE - WHAT? That particular thought did not cross her mind, but perhaps... just perhaps, Persephone was on to something. It was more reasonable to think of his insistence the second time as a gain of something ( maybe he had wanted to spite her or get back at her for thwarting him the first time ), but maybe her friend had hit the nail on the head with the inquiry. Though, she couldn't really say for sure - he'd been as insufferable as ever. It was her resolve that had been faltering, lately. He was just the usual smug self.
maybe they did know - maybe they didn't.
It was all a wild guess right now. The High lieges are undoubtedly dealing with it & the only way to keep it a secret is to keep it amongst themselves. She had wondered if Roland had known about the identities, but she'd never ask him - if it was necessary for her to know, he'd undoubtedly tell her. Just as she would have told him if she had found anything of value - anything that hadn't already been public knowledge. "You're probably right. They have their own way of dealing with this. If they are all united, I'm sure their powers would be enough to... contain the king. Maybe rectify whatever had messed him up in the first place." though it had been wishful thinking at this point.
oh.
"Oh, that is a very beautiful name. How old is he?"
betrothals were not something unknown to the galathenea women. while persephone had never actually known of the one of the one that her father had had lined up for her, she was aware of the fact that the arrangement had existed. arguably though she had landed probably a better one than her father would have arranged for her. not that her relationship with adonis was really anything at that moment. however she had hopes that they would figure it out and get back together. at least she still loved him as much as she had before she had left. "the same one that you already called off once before? perhaps he is gaining something from it, or he genuinely was interested in marrying you."
"of course he is, that part did not surprise me in the slightest." the high preistess wasn't sure of exactly what the king was having these fae he was meeting with do but what she was aware of was that he couldn't do things for himself. "i don't know that no one knows their identity. there's a chance some of the high lieges know. i would imagine if he had taken someone from dawn that they would have gone to saint about it in the end. there's a large possibility of him doing exactly that, i do not wish for that and i am sure that my brother and the other high lieges are making plans to deal with that."
"it's a lot more out in the open now than it was before. i kept him from his father for the first few years of his life. his name is eros."

LET'S ENJOY GREEK MYTH RETELLINGS AND STORIES BUT NOT TAKE ALL OF THEM SERIOUSLY
You know, I really have to say this.
I don't think that Greeks, Hellenistic Pagans and other people who know Greek Mythology would be as frustrated as they are today if people DIDN'T TAKE MODERN SOURCES DEPICTING GREEK MEDIA AS ALWAYS ACCURATE.
Bear with me now.
All right, so, we all know about Percy Jackson.
And PJO was basically the Greek God make or break of its time and it broke the Greek Gods. Greeks and Hellenistic Pagans had the unfortunate experience of being bombarded with false, incorrect interpretations and thoughts about their deities.
And we have to remember here that to these Hellenistic Pagans, their gods are as sacred to them as God is to Christians. Maybe they wouldn't kill people over their gods, an added bonus, but we must respect the fact that they worship the gods and we must be respectful of Greek Gods when interacting with them.
See, I'm not saying that you can't be lighthearted. You can joke around and all that-it's just that actually hating and condemning the Greek Gods shouldn't be done when you're interacting with their worshippers.
Now that I'm done with that, well, Rick Riordan fucked up with Greek Mythology big time. Making Athena have children, HIS MISOGYNY. THERE ARE ENTIRE TAGS DEDICATED TO RICK'S MISOGYNY, NOT JUST OF HIS FEMALE CHARACTERS BUT OF ACTUAL ANCIENT GREEK GODDESSES. If I did a whole essay on his misogyny, I'd have to make multiple posts.
Rick done fucked up with them. I do not have to be the first person to tell you that.
HOWEVER, I am obligated to say that any author is freely able to portray the Greek Gods as they want (unfortunately at times).
And so Rick is free to interpret them how he likes.
Let's also remember that Rick thought terribly of the Gods and their worshippers when he was writing Percy Jackson and the other series.
Of course, he HAS changed for the better. Now he's more respectful of Pagans and has apologised, which is nice, but I just thought I'd let you know.
See, now we can accept and criticise Rick's writing, but before-
Well, before, it was absolutely awful for Greeks and Hellenistic Pagans. I mean, it's still awful, but it was more awful back then because almost nobody criticised Percy Jackson about depicting Greek Gods terribly. Everyone said that Greek Gods were American and belonged to America-ugh, that was horrible. It's absolutely appalling to do that, no less to Greeks themselves. People ranted about how horrible the gods were.
And I mean yes, the Greek Gods could be awful by modern standards, but we need to remember two things-
The Greek Gods were based on an ANCIENT SOCIETY with DIFFERENT MORAL STANDARDS. Judging them by modern moral standards isn't going to do anything.
The actions of the gods were SYMBOLIC, NOT LITERAL.
a) Artemis' cruelty towards humans? That's the cruelty of nature towards him. Artemis was a nature goddess and she hunted and resided in the wild.
b) Dionysus being kind and charming but also mad and ruthless at times? Well, that's what wine does. It can make people funny and charming to a point, but it also drives people mad and makes them violent.
c) Hades kidnapping Persephone? Well, Hades represents death, and that's what death does-it rips children from their parents' arms. Also, it signifies the fact that daughters and mothers did not have a say in their marriage, the father could give the girl away to any man in those times. Demeter actually being able to get Persephone back was a comfort to grieving mothers.
d) Zeus cheating on Hera multiple times?
There are multiple explanations for this one.
First, kings and princes often claimed to be descendants of Zeus, so Zeus was said to have many affairs with royal mortal women so that their claims to divine lineage could be accurate.
Second, Zeus' rain represented fecundity and fertility. As I said above, the actions of the gods are symbolic and they represent their domains, so he had multiple affairs and loads of children to signify his fertility.
Third, the Greek Gods were based on Ancient Greek society where multiple men took concubines and lovers. And Zeus did this too, because he was a king!
e) Hera punishing the lovers and bastards? That's what queens did to some concubines for revenge, since they couldn't take it out on the king.
It's all either symbolic or based on Ancient Greece. The gods that humanity created were based on those times, and they were created millennia ago, when things were different in nearly every way possible.
Anyway, what I'm trying to tell you is that we're allowed to have fun with these stories and retellings that include Greek Mythology, but if you really want correct information on Greek gods, go and read the myths and the compositions of Ancient Greek poets and playwrights (Homer, Hesiod, etc).
Because many people, when reading these modern retellings and the like, think that they are actually real mythological information and accordingly spew nonsense.
People call Apollo 'Asspollo' and harass his worshippers because of one incorrect comic that came out in 2018. Apollo never raped Persephone.
And people also view famous figures like Odysseus and Achilles incorrectly because of incorrect translations that don't correctly capture the original and CERTAIN RETELLINGS (cough-Madeline Miller-COUGH)
And there are so many more examples I could give, but then this would be too long to post.
See, it's not that the writers completely rip the original lore out. They keep a lot of it, but they also add in some incorrect information. And sometimes this isn't that bad or malicious, it's just incorrect.
So if you're not sure about whether something in a retelling or story depicting Greek Gods is true, you should search it up online or ask someone who knows.
Because Greeks and Hellenistic Pagans are constantly frustrated at how their gods are portrayed and that everyone just takes the retellings as mythologically correct.
TLDR Greek mythology retellings can be fun for you to read but don't take all of the info in them as mythologically correct. You can be lighthearted about the Greek Gods but please don't actually loathe or mock them with others who believe in them and worship them. If you're not sure about info in a retelling or story, then search it up or ask someone you know.
There are multiple blogs on tumblr who can tell you more information about the actual Greek Gods and they're pretty nice about it too, so don't be too afraid.

Ω PJO MISCELLANEOUS DEMIGOD HEADCANONS: 💀 THANATOS: GOD OF DEATH, PERSONIFICATION OF PEACEFUL DEATH 🦋
A/N: Heeeeeey everyone! Here is {Wave 2.0.} of Miscellaneous Demigod Headcanons. Had the strength to write some more gods and their demigods for the Misc. Demigod Headcanons and I decided to start off with the most requested god and demigod with a bang! (No seriously, I've been getting so many requests to do Thanatos that I caved just so I could free my ask box). Hope you all enjoy it and thanks for reading! MISCELLANEOUS DEMIGOD H/CS MASTERLIST LINK: [TUMBLR] || [AO3]
Welcome to the impossible births club like the Athena kids. Thanatos is considered a virgin god. I think it’s not because of chastity or abstaining, but because Thanatos is the god and personification of Death itself; so his interaction with mortals always ends in their passing. Not to mention, being a lieutenant to Hades, he’s usually very busy. How you are born is up to theory but there are a few, limited, possible ways: a.) Just like Psyche and Eros where the former didn’t know Eros looked like, you do have a mortal parent that Thanatos fell in love with, but Thanatos remained invisible mostly when his eyes fell upon your mortal parent, keeping most of his deathly potency away. However, the whisper of death clings to you and your mortal parent. A curse of death for life and love. b.) You did the whole rebirth thing where you died as a baby or child, and Thanatos took pity on you. He fed you ambrosia and his godly essence with you, before you were allowed to bring back to life when appealing to Hades and Persephone, who allowed you to go back to the world of the living; however, you are a servant and denizen of the Underworld. C.) you were conceived when Thanatos fell in love with a mortal and when they crossed into the Underworld, they were finally to be seen together. However, when Thanatos was chained and the Doors of Death were forced to be kept open, your ‘mortal’ parent left the underworld searching for your godly father to free him. However, your parent was delayed in reaching Thanatos because with life now flowing, you were allowed to form and thus, you were born into the world of the living.
Regardless, you are one of your kind and if ever there are other children of Thanatos, well you’re in the same boat or one of the following listed above.
You have also inherited something from your godly father more than just the normal appearances (i.e. his golden-honey eyes, darker than black hair, his teakwood colour skin), you’ve also inherited his dark wings. Now before you get too excited, these wings do not grow along you in life. Your wings grow alongside you with death.
When you were first born into the world and drew your first breaths, you did not come with fledgling wings sprouting from your back. Your fledging wings sprouted from your back when you experienced death for the first time. Your wings started to sprout and show like tiny buds when you ignorantly crushed ants beneath your feet when you were a child and it was like being stabbed with a needle with your wings breaking through. You cry and the pain only gets worse as your wings grow and grow when you witness and are basked directly from (non-violent) death; whether you experienced death first hand or even hearing your classmate’s relative dying from cancer.
The pain and growth increases depending on the life; from the least to the death of bugs & insects to the worst & most growth with human life. Your wings were inherited from your godly father, the personification of Death. It is only natural that your wings will only grow and be a physical reminder of death itself. Whether your wings, feathered or like a butterfly, are a hue of blue, black, or purple can only be told with time and your journey in life alongside death. The weight of your parentage is constant on your shoulders and back.
Whether or not you know you are a child of Thanatos from the get-go, you are not exempt from being claimed when you reach Camp. It is a quiet claim but a deafening one. A downturned torch where its glow was dim. Smoke and mist rose around you, and the patch of grass that had once blooming flowers began to wilt and turn brown. If you haven’t had your wings yet or your wings aren’t as prominent, with his claim, your wings grow just slightly, the hue of your wing shining beautifully slightly yet eerie looking.
If you arrived at Camp Half Blood, and whether or not you decide to stay at Camp Half Blood, you are temporarily assigned to the Hypnos Cabin; as much as Thanatos was seen together with his brother Hypnos. While traditionally, you would be assigned to the Hermes cabin, unfortunately you slept like the dead; figuratively and literally which freaked a lot of people. Around the children of Hypnos you fit in a lot better and Clovis advocated your stay with the approval and insistence of his father.
Being the child of Death itself, allows you much of the powers of a child of Hades or something very similar. You can use necromancy, summoning skeletons to your aid in battle and whatnot, but you can’t control death; just because you are the child of Death, doesn’t mean you are exempt from the same laws and limitations as a child of Hades or any mortal at all. You may not be able to shadow-travel, but if you don’t, you can turn yourself invisible much like your godly father. It’s a skill that requires practice, just as much shadow-travel, and how long you can keep it up will depend on you.
Another power of being a child of Death, is you can see someone’s life-essence. Think of it as an aura that radiates how much life they have and what they are. Very useful in telling who is a monster in disguise or seeing someone who is possessing someone who shouldn’t be possessing. On the other hand, there is the inevitable sense of mortality when you see their aura and time dim.
You carry the linger of death you go and those who pass you by, will feel the cold shivering breeze around you. Only a few are not fazed by it, but you mustn’t lose your control,
Being a child of Thanatos is a heavy burden but you must live because what is life without death?
“So that’s how I was born” you finished saying, telling to your present company of how you came to be and how you were a child of Thanatos. The eyes on you were nerve-wracking and your wings fluttered and jittered in unison with your emotions.
You winced and whispered “sorry” when the tip of your wings almost grazed someone, not that used to having your wings out. It also didn’t help when Thanatos claimed you, they also got bigger so there were things to get used to. You didn’t like having your wings out in public, even around other demigods. Your wings were a constant reminder of your heritage and you wanted to keep it a secret, the truth of the wings where they appear when you’re around death, growing alongside with every life taken.
“That’s a pretty loaded backstory” blurted out Frank finally and Hazel immediately elbowed him as he winced at his words and pain.
You could help let out a nervous laughter as you responded with,“It sort of is, yeah. In all honesty, I didn’t believe it myself until Hypnos told me in my sleep. Even then, I don’t think I’ll ever wrap my mind around it completely. Not to mention, that there were other demigods like me and there’s a camp of all things.”
“Well, don’t worry about that! We’ll help you get settled in and help you if you have any questions!” said Hazel and you gave a sheepish smile. The daughter of Pluto had arrived with Frank when you all made landfall in Camp Halfblood, Nico expressly relieved that his sister was with him.
You met Nico first who looked at you and was out of his depth. It wasn’t only after you absorbed the death of a monster, did Nico tell you that Hades had told him about your existence and told him to find you, and in accordance take you to Camp. Which camp he didn’t specify but after some debate, it was better to take you to Camp Halfblood because your presence at Camp Jupiter wouldn’t be taken too well.
“Well…I guess the first thing to do is get you settled in” said Nico, rubbing the back of his neck. “We talked it over with Chiron and Mr. D and they said instead of staying at the Hermes cabin, it was best for you to stay at Cabin 13 with me until we get confirmation from Thanatos about what kind of Cabin he wants.”
‘It was safer for everyone if you stayed at the Hades cabin just in case’ was left unsaid.
“In all honesty, I really thought I wouldn’t be allowed to stay here since well…” you gestured to yourself with a nervous gulp as Nico scoffed.
“If they allow a son of Hades to stay, they’ll have to allow you. Besides, you’re a demigod like the rest of us so you have a place at Camp just like the rest of us” said Nico.
“That’s right! If anyone gives you any trouble, don’t hesitate to let us know and we’ll be there right with you!” agreed Hazel as Frank nodded.
You felt your chest warm up a bit as you all approached Cabin 13. Despite it’s dark exterior, you felt a certain pull to it as Nico and Hazel opened the door for you.
“Once again, Welcome [first name, last name], child of Thanatos, servitor of the Underworld, to Cabin 13, the Hades Cabin.”

So, I want to confess something. I believe I speak for everyone when I say that the SA in LO is not only poorly written but very mishandled and was unnecessary. I want to point out I am not a SA victim, so I can not say with experience how well the deception was. Though I do know people in real life that were victims, I also don’t want to disclose their stories either. But, here’s the thing. I personally don’t mind SA in the media, if it is handled with care and they portray it as a serious issue!
The problem I have with most media is that shows and stories will either use SA as A. A plot device for romance development. B. Shock value or C. A joke. So many media I’ve watched use SA as any of the three categories (13 Reasons Why and content from Vivziepop being a few that I can think of off the top of my head). The only show I can think of that actually portrays SA seriously and shows real life impact is Tuca and Bride. I also think it’s pretty hypocritical that the media will use SA as long as they fall into any of the three categories, but when you want to show the negative effects of it like in Moral Orel, suddenly you get canceled! Again, Hypocrites! I also don’t think first time writers should write this kind of stuff, and Rachel is no exception. You can tell she didn’t know what she was doing, based on how little importance the SA has on the plot or how it falls into said categories as well. (and the rumors that she didn’t even know it was SA doesn’t help).
Now, that being said I don’t think a SA plot line was a bad idea for this kind of story. Again, the original myth was “The abduction of Persephone” and in some versions, Hades did force himself onto Persephone. And considering Ancient Greece was rife with many stories of such heavy topics, I can see why they would include that. My personal issue with LO’s SA plotline… is Apollo! First of all, while Apollo may have had some questionable relationships in his myths, he never really forced himself on anyone. In fact, the most famous story of him chasing Daphne was only because he was under the influence of Eros, meaning Apollo had no agency in loving Daphne. Second, Apollo had nothing to do with Persephone. They never interacted in any myths. Sure, there was one myth where Apollo asked Demeter for her daughter’s hand and Demeter rejected, but that’s it. The two never had any relationship. So it makes the plot line even more convoluted because of their lack of historical and mythical connection. Though, I do admit I kind of like Apollo and Persephone as a couple (In Rekindled not Lore Olympus), but I know they don’t get together.
Honestly, if Rachel really wanted to do a SA story that would prop up Hades without demonizing anyone, she could have done that! By making Persephone’s assaulter be Zeus instead of Apollo! Hear me out, in some stories, Zeus actually disguised himself as Hades and slept with Persephone, thus it resulted in Zagerus. So, it is canon in a sense that Zeus did SA Persephone. Not only that, but given he had a role to play in the “Abduction of Persephone” where he sold his daughter off to Hades, this makes him even more impactful to the story. He could be the villain instead of Demeter, who wants to use Persephone. And considering Zeus’s love affairs and his god complex (no pun intended) he would believe he was entitled to Persephone and would want to have her as a secret concubine.
Maybe Zeus would be able to learn more about Persephone through Hera and he would decide to set his sights on her. He could try and get closer to her as she is naive and never met the King of Gods, and would use her trust to pounce on her (Because in SA cases, your attacker is more likely to be someone close to you rather than a stranger.) And maybe Zeus would blackmail Persephone so she would have to keep seeing him or else get kicked out of school and be a disgrace to her mother. Then, you could have Hades find out and he would rage against Zeus. Maybe Hades would get Demeter involved and they would team up to punish the King all for the sake of protecting Persephone. Hades would suggest making Persephone his queen for protection, and Demeter would make the world grow cold unless Zeus complies, thus explaining Winter. Zeus would agree to give Persephone to Hades, and she will be under Hades’s protection. But Persephone would still want to be with her mother, so Demeter and Hades make custody arrangements.
Bam! A SA plot line that A. Actually adds to the story and raises stakes. B. Makes a terrifying but complex villain for the story that we all can hate without assassinating his character. C. Have Hades and Demeter come out on top. D. Be historical and mythologically accurate. (I’m also not saying that I wanted SA in LO or LR, nor do I think this version would have made it better, but I personally believe this plot line makes way more sense than: Apollo meeting Persephone in one day and SA her in her sleep.)
I agree with a lot of this, thank you for sharing!! (sorry this is a late response, I didn't want this big analysis to go to waste fdjasklfdsajlk)
But yeah, in essence / on paper the SA plotline in LO would have been fine, especially considering SA is present in just about every Greek myth story, but I don't think Rachel was really cut out to tackle that subject yet, mostly as a writer as all of her writing is very baseless and doesn't have the necessary planning, research, and direction required to depict a subject like that. It takes a lot of sensitivity, self-awareness, and self control, none of which LO has as a narrative or Rachel as a writer.
IMO Apollo being the god of the sun made for a great springboard for him to be like, this self-centered god who was so delusional in his own ego that he couldn't believe Persephone wouldn't want him, that alone was enough to make him out to be a great villain - even with the use of SA, where he couldn't take no for an answer - but then we had to get into the whole "Apollo is gonna use Persephone to overthrow Zeus" crap and it all fell apart from there. Not to mention the story could never decide if Apollo was some nefarious puppet master or just a delusional dumbass, so all the flip-flopping on his motivations led to him becoming a very weak villain.
That said, I will cut her some slack for not having Zeus assault her. Because while it's more accurate to the myths (and character accurate) the story could barely handle Apollo and he's the canon Good Boytm in the myths, imagine it trying to handle an actual serial assaulter?
But that's not me saying it's necessarily a bad idea. I just don't think LO would be able to handle it with Rachel at the helm lol

persephone was no muse, and she reckoned her musical gift must have come from someone long down her mother’s line, or from her long lost and long forgotten father. she rarely sang for others, but she knew talented when it was staring her in the face. the boy was not only a canary, but he was charming too. charm sold at the underground. and he spoke her language. never met him before, but they were kin, she liked that too.
“oh peppersprout, i’ve been here the whole time. just watched your set, you’ve a very pretty voice.” she complimented, placing a twenty dollar bill in the hat. she knew a good fiddler was just born, it took time to get that right, and she thought he ought to be rewarded for his hard-work. “my names persephone, i’m head lady at the underground, a nice little bar outside of the park. if you want a gig or two, there’s always open spots for performers. can keep all the tips and everything. your vibe fits my place, and i’d like to have ya.”
@ivycovestarters
Mattie Sage placed a hat out as he prepped for his performance. A fiddle in hand, it wasn't the one he was used too. Too clean, too bound, but it would do in a pinch. "Now ladies and gentleman, gather around. My name's Mattie Sage and I got a gift I'd like to share with you all." He motioned toward the hat, "If you feel so inclined to donate, I won't say no, but just no that ain't the point of my performance today." He was a performer at heart and he had found a stage at long last. Twisting his fiddle up, he began to sing 'Go Tell The Mountains.' followed by three additional songs. He moved around his makeshift stage in a joyous movement that were signature Covey moves. When his set had ended, he bowed before collecting his loose hat and sitting down on a park bench near by. Counting his earnings and pocketing it, with a bright smile. As he glanced up toward the other. "Sorry, I just finished up for the moment." He explained simply, he had taken to performing again, it was the only thing that seemed to keep the nightmares at bay. "But I should have a performance here in the next few hours if you don't mind waiting."

final things I want to say. This is not at all an NSFW blog, and the only reason I put my paraphilias was because I specifically want to talk about my paraphilias (and paraphilias in general) in a not NSFW way, because I kinda feel alone in my thoughts a lot of the time. But it obviously isn’t appropriate for me to share NSFW stuff, especially about myself, as a minor. It also isn’t appropriate for other people to interact with me in a sexual/NSFW way so please don’t do that! I will block and report. NSFW blogs can interact if they wish, as long as the interactions they are having with me are SFW.

Happy Audio Drama Sunday! I hope everyone has been taking care and keeping warm. We got about 70 cm of snow last week followed by very cold temperatures, so this week has had us all bundled up. Hoping for some slightly warmer weather soon!
@midnightburgr Chapter 43 - Adventure: I love the Mucklewains and all their personas for dealing with different situations, and now we have a whole episode of them in an Indiana Jones AU? Absolutely incredible! Very curious about who these baddies are afraid of, who can't they kill? Sounds like the gang are in something of a no-win scenario going to in to this confrontation with the Benefactor...but Gloria's plan, whatever that is, will work right? Right? 🍔
@starfallpod Act 1 Scene xx: It was very fun hearing the troupe members do different tasks than they normally would. Then Hestren (who I love so much) appearing from out of the blue to take Leona (and Fel) to a fey party! Whew, those two were not happy. I'm so glad they were able to work through their conditioning to accept what was in front of them, though there's a lot they're going to have to deal with there... Very curious about two things. 1. What is up with that fey recognizing Leona's sword? 2. What terrible things did Aldwen see in Leona and Fel's future??? ✨
@vestaclinicpod Episode 18 - Temporising Measures: AMC, did you deliberately try to make us cry in the first 5 seconds? Because definitely it didn't work... 😢 Sec helping Faye hide-but-not-delete the messages from her ex is very sweet. It was really cool hearing Rai work through the different options for baby NOSL11. And man, what a heavy conversation for Faye and NOSL11 to have! A good and necessary one though.⚕️
@pasitheapowder Bonus Episode! Meditations in an Emergency: An incredible surprise!! Molly Olguin appeared to tell us about her upcoming book of short stories and to read an excerpt from it (my copy has been pre-ordered)! And then because Molly and Jackie are so wonderful, we got a little bonus Pasithea story!! Just hearing the intro music had me feeling emotional. No spoilers, but it was so sweet and had my head racing with ideas and questions. Then we got another surprise!! New Annie Moriondo Pasithea track!! I was grinning for a solid hour after all that!! 💙
@kingmakerpod Chapter Twenty-Seven - Colette's Inferno: Oh. My. Goodness. That was hilarious. IW&C tripping balls; Colette having a bisexual, existential and moral crisis; Eisen ending up with a finger...all absolutely fantastic. And then there were the bits of additional Telesphore lore! Some dark stuff... And the usual scheming from Holzmann and Culver. I think it's going to be fun hearing them more directly pitted against each other! 💎
@forgedbondspod - Chapter 9: A few final conversations before the wedding! Hades and Persephone's very emphatic reaction about Hermes was so funny. "So incredibly gay!" I do hope Hephaestus attends the wedding - I think if she does, there will be some interesting interactions... 💍
@monkeymanproductions' Waiting For October S1 Episode 5 - Home Again: Back in our world, Yvonne and Karo have a heavy conversation but definitely a needed one. It was interesting to understand more from Vonnie's perspective how she was getting pulled into Karo's story. More backstory from both of them! I was also wondering about Karo and what kind of monster they are, but I wasn't expecting the answer we got! 🎃

to play as RO and be a divorced woman that seems so fuuuun!!!
RIGHT?? I can already imagine how much fun I'm gonna have writing this story. And I know it's going to be hell to code because of the multitude of variables and so many things to keep track of, BUT it'll be worth it.
PLUS, the fact that Persephone and the reader's RO [yet to be given a last name] are implied to have met years before Persephone's marriage is also an interesting factor in all of this. Have they stayed as friends? Evolved into more? Kissed? Gotten intimate and greedy before they're inevitably splitting ways? It's giving Goodluck, Babe energy and I am living for it.
The angst of seeing each other again after YEARS of not knowing how the other is doing, and to live in the shock of how much time has/hasn't changed them. The absolute joy and warmth of old habits coming back as the two women interact with each other again after so long, yet there's also this air of awkwardness that lingers between them. Avoiding gazes, touches that lingered for a bit, until one of them realizes and quickly pulls back while the other is pained and wants to reach out but can't for so many reasons.
I could yap about this for HOURS, but alas, I need to finish this J&C story first, and I don't wanna share the whole story idea for the sequel since it's still in its planning and concepting stages.

What A Year For Games! Top 10 Games of 2023 For Little Lesbians Like me!
I am on and off again with video games often switching between years where I am really into games and years where I am snoozing but I started to dedicate myself to finding and sharing more sapphic art so people can stop saying it doesn't exist lead me to playing tons more games and wow I played so many fucking amazing games this year it was an extremally hard year to pick a top 10 games. Now these aren't a top 10 sapphic games, it's just the best 10 games of the year, on an objective scale because I am the goddess of this world and there for right. Not all of these games will have come out in 2023, it's games I played in 2023 why limit ones self?
These games are roughly in order by how confident I am to put them on this list but each of these games did something different than me so I wouldn't say that a game is "better" rather than what I got out of it at the end of playing felt biggest.
Stray Gods
It's a musical, it's a video game, it's Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical. This game is a really fun little Greek myth story telling experience with an neat interoperation of myth and the characters to provide a fun experience to people with or without attachment to the stories. The dynamic music changing to your choices is a really cool concept although I wish more of the songs were a bop. I also wish the game explored the idea of polyamory like the Greek gods were not monogamous and I see no reason I can't kiss Freddie and Persephone in the same playthrough. What is there though is still compelling, fun, and engaging with a great set of characters across the board romanceable and not.
Pokémon Emerald Rouge
Pokabbie's amazing Pokemon Rom Hack that shows the utterly wild shit possible for Pokemon experiences we could get. It's amazingly fun to do runs of Pokemon where you catch new pokemon, fight trainers and get to then recatch that species to use in later runs. It's a really great gameplay loop that really just uses what's fun about pokemon and allows for a lot of different run customization which leads to the loop not getting stale and makes it easier to find particular pokemon you want. This was my favorite Pokémon experience this year.
Street Fighter 6
Street Fighter 6 has some of the worst monetization to date in fighting games. However, despite that it provided a lot of fun to me this year playing the base game's amazing World Tour mode and in enjoying the greatly designed new characters who I hope become Street Fighter staples. All while making my favorite SF character Juri even better with new interactions, a little bit of progress to her story and more. I hope that World Tour mode encourages a lot of other fighting game devs to step up the single player experiences in Fighting games and I also hope [as seems to be the industry trend] that "modern" controls take over. It was so nice to be able to do all the special moves consistently and more easily feel like I was in control of the game rather than feeling light I was fighting my hands to move out an input.
Drums Of War
I sure do wish a Fire Emblem game came out in 2023, it's been so long since Three Houses and Hopes is amazing but not the SRPG gameplay I came to love. Well if there was a Fire Emblem game I am sure it would have ENGAGED me, wait, there was the amazing Fire Emblem rom hack Drums Of War. Parrhesia utterly killed it with this take on Fire Emblem. The heart of the story being an emotionally damaged lesbian and the dancer with a big secret who fell for her makes for an utterly captivating romance paired with a real "war is hell" story that really does it's best to show you how fucked all sides of this conflict are until the player finally gets to forge their own path forward. Roxelana and Calista would be among my most favorite Fire Emblem lords if I was ranking them alongside all the lords of the series with both characters being utterly delightful and some charming side characters too like Estrelle. The gameplay itself aired a bit on the harder side to what I like but regardless I had a great time with the majority of maps and by the end of it I think I finally managed to get with the curve of the difficulty even if I wish there was an easier mode.
Cassette Beasts
The soundtrack alone would put this game on this list but luckily it has even more than a soundtrack. The whole cast are really charming, I totally fell for Viola and the other characters all have their own special charms. The game has plenty of faults I talked about in my review of it but despite the flaws of the game basically right until the very end where it massively declined for me this was one of the best games in all of monster tamers for me. The DLC was sadly not so great that came out later in the year but I didn't mind giving the extra money to the devs when the core game was so good. The monster taming is fun, the gameplay feels flexible enough for you to find the niche you like to play in and become really good at that niche, it allows for a lot of flexibility from folks who wanna swap partners all the time to people who will find their favorite characters and monsters and stick with them. I really hope the developers keep moving forward with Cassette Beasts and making new strives forward with their concepts because of all the indie monster tamers I've played this is leaps and strides above the rest.
En Garde!
This extremally short little romp is a compelling experience that is just a little bit longer than your average modern block buster. It's a simple and sweet swash buckling game where you play as a bisexual vigilante woman with a big crush on a sexy pirate woman trying to stop the oppressor of the people's evil schemes. Each chapter is like another adventure of Zoro short and puppy, fun and with ever so slight tension but you know the hero will come up on top. It's a really good experience and it has some great accessibility features for folks with reflex issues like me to still be able to enjoy it. The music is staller, the voice acting is fantastic, it's a great package that instead of padding itself out fills every second with greatness.
Luxaren Allure
I am a massive fan of turn based RPGs, I love getting to look at menus and think about my actions, being able to multitask while I play, enjoy a big juicy narrative and so I was very happy to play a JRPG style experience that's all about lesbians. An amazingly fun concept for a JRPG plot where one woman's beloved whom she chickened out of confessing too gets corrupted by an evil power and she is tasked with being the hero to take her out. This gives the interactions and the end goal a sense of uncertainty, will this be a sad case of tragic yuri, will she find joy with someone else, will she be able to save the woman she loves from this evil power, will she submit to the evil herself to be by her side? Everything feels uncertain with just this little angle added to a fairly typical JRPG formula. All while on the side having an adorable romance between a naga and a human girl giving us the good good lesbian sweetness between the dramatic tension.
Baldur's Gate 3
I am so often the contain, the noted hater but not on this day, nay I say, it was pretty fucking fun. The game is flawed, pretty flawed, like it's got a lot or fantasy racism shit I hate, it's tied to an IP I hate, it's got so many bugs that happened on my own run but if there is one game from this list I will probably think of the most and play the most in 2024 and beyond from this year it's probably this game. The games depth of interactivity, the wide breath of options, and the mods, oh the mods, the many many many mods, this game has so much to do and will for a very long time. It's rare to get a truly great multiplayer game and this game also provides that, this is a fantastic experience for playing online with others and makes for really great runs. Then there is the romances, oh the romances are really great, the girls are all fantastic and the side queers are super brilliant too. It's just a really fun video game and it does a good job exploring trauma and different takes on abusive relationships and overcoming [or succumbing] to them.
Thirsty Suitors
What a fucking great game, while the gameplay is mostly quick time events it does an amazing job of making each aspect of the game feel distinct from each other. While skateboarding in general kinda sucks in this game the combat and cooking all feels really great. Then there is the vocal performances and writing which are all fucking stellar. It's really great to see a fully fleshed out and fully real feeling queer woman who has had messy exes of all genders and has done a lot of fucked up things in her time. Jala's road to redemption with her family and exes all feels really great and this is a special story and I realized sometime after there is some level of variance too that I could have seen if I made some different choices. It's really great and even if it's not a dating sim like I thought it might be it's still a really great little thing. Then you factor in all the cool queer brown people in this game and wow, like I felt so scene by this game like the angry mess Tyler is speaks to my little transbian heart, the high fem lesbian struggle with family that Diya has I could feel echoed in my own life, I just, wow, it was great. I am so happy this game exists and I will likely always see this among the best narratives in all video games.
The Cosmic Wheel Sisterhood
My game of the year, The Cosmic Wheel Sisterhood fucking blew me away. In a shocking twist of fate while I complained about a lot of endings this year I didn't like my original ending for The Cosmic Wheel Sisterhood either but then that drove me to go from liking the game to loving it as I ran the game again in spite of it, fueled by spite alone I felt a sense of determination, I would change my fate! This thematic fortune telling game where you make your own cards, help people or end up seeing a fate that only hurts them, I knew how to play it, I knew the systems now, I understood how the cards worked, the truth of my powers and the price I agreed to pay and I'd use all of that to make the happiest fucking story possible for Fortuna aka ME. So I dart through the game, I help the trans woman be herself and happy, I get my hot butch girlfriend, I help everyone out with their life problems crafting only the best cards possible to make sure I can give the best fates possible and then I hit the end point, the time to pay the price. I say no, the game says, you have to, I keep saying no, and then I draw my cards again and shape fate and in that I defied fate, made an ending I could be happy with, a better world for all my fellow witches, and so my story ends with my friends back by my side [probably gonna be a polycule] and a whole lot to look forward to. What a fucking experience, what a cool fucking game.
If you want to help me enjoy more art then consider checking out my Patreon or Ko-fi .and giving me a little bit of cash so I can do more of this kind of writing but also like make lots of my own art, art is hard to make and costs money and like maintain my chronically ill and trans body also takes money so anything helps, thank you.

@lightcreators sent in: “ Challenging authority, angering gods. The family business. ” ( draco @ persephone )
Hearing the mans comment made her laugh, a light airy sound that came, before shaking her head. "You do love angering gods. Honestly it does make me like you more." She said. Persephone leaned back in her chair as she watched Draco. She was use to his antics, but she knew why he did somethings that he did. "Though what have you done this time? Or is this just a general statement?" She asked.

THAT was a relief. She had only been to Summer court once, long time ago, & did not stay for long - her winnowing had taken her right out of there at the first feeling of cursed heat. At least the Cauldron was merciful enough to not force her to remain in the first court she'd laid her pale, silver gaze on. More merciful than this cunt, that was for sure. "It could be worse, indeed. It could be Day court. I think I would simply perish at that much sunlight, though I have a sickening feeling that court will be on our to-visit list in the foreseeable future. Perhaps even our next one, if court-skipping continues." spoke she, as if it were of no consequence & as if she were a mere tourist.
it was best to regard this situation as a little holiday - until the carnage starts.
& it will.
Interesting. So, they'll keep up with their tedious silence, leaving the fae panicking & guessing, & thus keeping them in a state of constant distress, blindsiding them & feeding off their fear. How very ordinary of them. Boring, even. Vivian would yawn if only she cared to display such an emotion. "How tedious. The least they could to is to apologise to everyone currently suffering under this heat. Or the very least for the Summer's scholar." no matter what she said, the Cauldron Made was thoroughly unimpressed by the panic & the bullshit around her.
"At least that is a relief to hear - it seems that everyone from Dawn court is faring well."
@vivianvaldemar continued from here
the heat of the summer court is one that takes a significant adjustment. it was one that had been hard for the high priestess in the time that she had spent in it. especially being that she had done it whilst carrying a babe. however that wasn't the concern of them at the moment. there was much more to be concerned over, the king's new form and the display of both mother's.
"when the sun sets there will be relief from the heat. the majority of it comes from the sun blazing down on the ground. i would recommend keeping yourself hydrated while we are here." dawn fae would not be used to the intensity of the sun, their own remaining in the sky in a permanent rise. "i agree, regardless of where they move us to we seem to still be safe and alive. it could be worse."
"i am faring as well as one can with these changes." there was a lot on the high priestess's mind. ranging from the mother's, the king, and the father of her son. though the latter was not the thing to be obsessing over in these times. "nothing solid or confirming. more so than the silence felt in the dusk court at the very least."

Lore Olympus ep. 252 critique
Before all you stans get mad I generally thought this episode was pretty okay. But maybe that’s because not a whole lot happened.
Cassandra
So going in the order of events, first up is our favorite gal Cassandra.

Gotta say, already like her loads.
I don’t have a whole lot to say about her general existence, beyond the fact that it’s stupid that Apollo is using her as a walking incognito tab. My main criticism more lies around the idea of when did Apollo even meet her? He obviously couldn’t have met her during the time skip because there were no interactions allowed between realms during that time and he was kicking it in Olympus.
We also have no indication of when he actually met her post-punishment. There’s no definitive timeline for how far we are post-time skip, but by my estimation, we can’t be more than a month past when the embargo officially lifted. Idk I can already smell the mess that is this storyline a mile away.
The SA plot line
Holy fuck. I don’t exactly know what the hell Rachel is exactly trying to achieve with the SA plot line but I can tell you that the handling of it has been piss poor.
Uhhh... this is great and all except for the fact that Persephone never thought this. There is not one shred of evidence that Persephone ever liked or actually found Apollo handsome. Not even in the very early chapters. She didn't even say that he made her feel special. She said that she liked the way Hades made her feel. Hades made her feel special by grooming her but that's a whole-ass post on its own.

Even after her assault, she continued to express at minimum a clear discomfort for him in front of others and at maximum immense hatred for him when by herself or with only him. And now suddenly Rachel wants to flip the script? Why? What purpose would that serve? Why is she suddenly backpedaling on a plotline that was established within the first 25 episodes/the second day Persephone is on Olympus? The SA plotline is the longest-running and the "big bad" that has yet to be resolved. But now it only pops up when the story needs a little conflict or an extra boost to drive it forward. Plus now she wants to portray Apollo as this misunderstood ex-love interest/boyfriend with whom the audience is supposed to sympathize? It's disgusting. @genericpuff who I really need to stop tagging in these posts I'm so sorry made an excellent essay about how Rachel is burying the SA plot line that basically takes what I've said above and greatly expands it. Go read it, they made a lot of excellent points.
Melinoe
Ah yes. The mystery deity that was really Hades’ inner child/actual child all along!
So I actually had a conversation with another LO critic about how weird I thought this "inner child -> actual canonical child" pipeline was. Now, granted, I could be reading into this way too much but when I first read this, I honestly thought it was some kind of weird/unintentional representation of parents projecting their trauma onto their children.
We've seen this little ghost buddy in past chapters and a lot of people (myself included) thought that our ghost buddy was a representation of Hades' inner child. A little Hades if you will. And it was portrayed that way. We often saw our little ghost buddy/little Hades who was extremely traumatized by Hades' past experiences. The part of Hades that just can't let go despite what he may claim about "moving on" or "being better". But if this little ghost/Hades is actually their kid Melinoe, that means they saw everything that Hades went through. All his traumas, all his struggles. Everything. And now also with Persephone and her little jaunt through the mind-scape and the shit she saw. So now we have to recontextualize all of those scenes where Hades interacts with this being and tbh the scenes kind of become very ick? This is such a strange direction to take this particular storyline. Something about it just rubs me the wrong way and I don't know if it's my above complaint or something else.
But yeah. Pretty tame in comparison to some of my past posts and posts that will come. Until the next chapter and/or my next post.

The one and only Cress of Striaton City and the best out of the three of us! Feel free to ask for a challenge if you ever see me, I, Cress, would be happy to indulge you!
☀️Daylight/Toaster!! Yeah, you’re probably here after I moved him here— hi again! All previous interactions are still present and active don’t worry! Just moved him as he was my main blog due to my little brain not being able to comprehend that I could just. Follow from a main blog and just elaborate in the bio or pinned post. My bad chat.
Still!! Relisting his pokemon and ref sheet below;
— Persephone (Simipour)
— Honey (Slowking, may have brief instances of typing. Indicated in pink text and a ‘— H’ at the end of it.)
— Seraphina (Vaporeon)
— C-Weed (Golduck)
— Sam (Azumarill)
— Harry (Crawdaunt)
— Shello (Samurott)
— Carl (Seismitoad)
— Lily (Lillipup)
— Percy (Basculin)
— Gyo (Basculegion)/shiny
— Novo (Kingdra)
— Garnet (Zoroark) ((I AM SO SORRY I DIDNT REALISE IT SAID GARNET TWICE LMAO))
— Lilac (Nihilego) (Same case as Honey, except there will be no sign off and instead written in the smallest font on here)
— Alphie (Walking Wake)
REF + Additional notes for headcanons beneath.

Headcanon/Notes for portrayal
— Cress WILL be a cocky bastard half of the time and.. just kind of an awkward teenager in a quarter of that time. The rest he will be (regrettably) in desperate need of therapy or generally deranged. Each of these has their own tags.
‘Don’t eat the petals’ = Cocky
‘Base ingredient for tea’ = Awkward teen
‘Still Waters’ = The rest of the time
If a post lacks any of these, that. Just means I don’t really know how to classify it, probably since it doesn’t really fall into any of those.
— He is portrayed as 16 here, but do note that this portrayal has him and Chili as twins and Cilan a year older at 17. This is necessary to be known, I’d honestly find it funny if everyone just universally misinterpreted the three of them as being triplets and them just all being ‘.. no???’
— Yes, he’s part Kyogre. Blame Dan’s (old and not on here) Colress for that. He deliberately tries to hide it though!
— Follows Shadow Triad theory… except it’s just Cress instead of all three of them.
— Liar. He’s lying so much and sometimes it is SO obvious.
— Poalesshipping, sorry (not).
— He actually.. kinda doesn’t know most of the other gym leaders on more than a basic level besides like, Burgh and Lenora. He’s trying though.
— Part-time BBA Student. No one’s surprise, he doesn’t really talk to anyone there.
