Telaine (Murph): But me? I fell in love with the beauty of dragons, and believed the world would be better if it was filled with them. Moonshine (Emily): It's hard not to! Moonshine: I would love nothing more than a Bahumia with dragons in the sky. Murph: Moonshine, in this moment, what are you thinking? Moonshine/Emily: I think I'm thinking-- Melora, we're gonna take a bit off your plate, and Bahumia, we are gonna fill your skies with… super nice dragons. Telaine: Tell him something only I would know. [Moonshine: uh-huh] Long ago when we were banished to the sanctuary, having lost our war, I told Cordone that we would fly the skies of Bahumia again someday. Murph: Um, and deep in the distance, you'll occasionally see a flying figure. A bird? A dragon? Impossible to tell from here. Sol (Caldwell): Woah. Caldwell: Sol shouts-- Sol: There there be dragons! Maybe. I dunno. Could be. [Jake and Emily laugh.] Calder (Jake): Could be birds. Callie (Emily): I mean, I can actually confirm, it's definitely dragons. Sol: Okay. Yep! Then I saw a dragon. Callie: Have you two never seen dragons before? Sol, awestruck: I saw a dragon! Callie: They are… beautiful. Sol: Oh, yeah? Callie: You can absolutely understand that people form entire communities around them! They're so charismatic, powerful, they're absolutely, like-- the greatest creature, probably in Bahumia Sol: Wow. Calder: Damn.

pike saying “okay. so this wrecked me. so here’s what we’re going to do. I’m going to send you guys on your way. I’m going to take out my purse of money. I’m giving you all my money. stop. don’t say anything. I want you, and I want astra, and I want johann to leave and I never want to see you again. jb is going to stay here with me. we’re going to teach her things. I will put her through school. and her and I together will change the trickfoot name. but if I ever see any of you again, I will fucking kill you all.” (bonus: percy adding “when you make it down the hill, you will find your cart outside the city limits in perfect working order, searched for anything else you might have tried to stash away from my city. I’d also like to remind you that the riflemen have seen your faces up close, and the next time you come anywhere near our castle, you will be shot on sight.” 🙌)

Are the Trickfoots fucking with Vox Machina and planning an elaborate heist and just trying to get all of them out of their homes at one very specific time, or are they telling the truth and are concerned that Pike will actually fall into some kind of corruption and greediness

I have read so many Vox Machina spoilers
But no one mentioned Pike's shady ass family showing up and summoning demons out of her!? Like in the middle of this fight and nothing is landing on this thing. Is it an illusion?

do you ever think about how hardwon, when he finds his strength and chooses to step up and fight, thinks of his family and friends.
Transcript:
Murph: Hardwon, what do you think in this moment? Jake: Hardwon thinks about the family that he chose, his brothers and sisters standing next to him. And he thinks about… the-- the adventurers that came before them, and… the choices that they made that fucked up the world. And he thinks: No matter what happens, I'm just gonna remember this moment, and know that we all went into this with the best intentions. And no matter what anybody chooses from now on, it's with love in their heart. Murph: That is your turn. Jake: Okay. As Hardwon, you know, watches Cobb retreat, he realizes that… he listened to himself instead of his friends. Moonshine and Bev asked him not to go. Jaina asked him not to go. And now he found out that Ol' Cobb had asked him not to go. And… he realizes that the only thing he can do is to keep on fighting, just like the generations and the generations before.

as a certified pike stan, this is probably obvious, but c1e96 (family matters) aka the trickfoot episode is one of my absolute favorites.
and i just think it’s a really cleverly crafted little backstory dive on matt’s part in particular. vox machina never lets down their guard with the trickfoots, much like they were with dranzel & his troupe. but unlike dranzel, there is still this tiny, little sliver that goes “well, maybe.” they knew dranzel and his troupe were con artists and scoundrels. while they have that inclination about the trickfoots, pike’s backstory including the “curse” puts into question if the trickfoots really have made their own fate or are falling prey to a multi-generation curse.
none of them seem trustworthy in the slightest- ogden is unfathomably old and therefore hard to gauge, JB is generally softspoken and slightly creepy, and astra & johann give off strong con artist energy. different VM members tend to have different perceptions of them- vex being very wary while pike is more willing to give them a chance because she wants to believe that there’s hope for her family (even though ashley as a player knows they probably can’t be trusted). but despite those different perceptions, every single VM member agrees that they have to try whatever the trickfoots are selling because if there’s even a potential that pike could be harmed if they don’t do it, then they’ve put a dear friend at risk.
it was just a wonderfully crafted scenario where no matter if they knew that the encounter was probably bogus, vox machina at least had to try it.

keyleth telling grog “it’s hard to take you seriously, ever, but even more so now with that ridiculous hat.” and grog saying “heavy is the head that wears the crown.” 😂

I think Bertrand Bell was the drunk guy that grog gave a card of the Deck of Many Things in c1e96, in which the card gave the guy two wishes
Because he turned into a Lord of The Quadroads of Vaselheim, never explained who gave him the title in c3e1, and he volunteered to save Grog in The Search for Grog oneshot
