one time i ate some british chocolate and it had pop rocks in it??? but i didn't KNOW it had poprocks in it?!?! SO I THOUGHT "MY GOD MY MOUTH IS FULL OF LIVE ANTS? THE CHOCOLATE HAD LIVE ANTS INSIDE?"
Tumblr media
i know it says "popping candy" right on the wrapper but my brain didnt register it AT ALL i just was like "oh food *horf*"
also i didn't think i was like, made with live ants on purpose, i thought that somehow ants had gotten inside the candy wrapper and into the chocolate and i had bitten into ant infected candy

Time to clown on Cadbury for their questionable financial decisions divisive chocolate selection!
My whole family hates cherry ripe and Turkish delight seems to also be one of those “you either love it or hate it” ones (I personally love it) but on the other hand I have never once heard a bad word about flake. RIP flake you were a real one

For this blog, I am accepting entries for what everyone's favorite Easter candy is? Is it the marshmallow Peeps, Cadbury eggs, or some other fun confection? Please post your reply and have a fun week!

TIL Jonathan Glazer directed Denis Lavant in a Cadbury chocolate commercial, which reminds me of Leos Carax directing Lavant as a sewer-dwelling creature in TOKYO! (2008), a role Lavant reprised for Carax in the gorgeously bonkers HOLY MOTORS (2012). https://youtu.be/NWu9WjEcdbk?si=LpXnzXmmsKysSjUh

British Cadbury chocolate is so much better than the American kind.
A friend of mine brought me some from her recent trip.  I don’t know what you Brits do differently to your chocolate, but this American approves!

putting Cadbury’s questionable financial decisions to the side for a moment,
I expect this will cause immense rifts, especially between the cherry ripe haters and the cherry ripe defenders. My entire family despises cherry ripe, but it must be popular if cadbury keeps putting it in the box…

Tumblr media Tumblr media

Graphic Source: Dairy Milk Chocolate Bar 1824 by Cadbury & Co. (Timeline) (Official Website)
On this Day in 1824, Cadbury was founded by John Cadbury and his brother Benjamin, followed by his sons Richard and George. George developed the model village of Bournville, the home of the Cadbury Factory.
Dairy Milk was introduced by George Jr. to the general public in 1905. By 1914, Dairy Milk was the best selling product during the year.
Cadbury’s, Rowntree’s and Fry’s were the biggest British sellers of confectionery products during the 19th Century and well into the 20th Century.
Cadbury’s received its first royal warrant from Queen Victoria in 1854.
The company was bought by American giant Kraft Foods in 2010.
