I feel like AMVs are a very specific kind of love letter to the media they’re based on solely bc as an art form they sort of necessitate that you’ve seen the original property multiple times and have an intimate knowledge of it when it comes to selecting scenes that fit the timing of the music, the current lyric of the music, the vibe of the song, etc. especially when the AMV is set to a full song. Like the soul eater this is halloween AMV I would guess the person who made it has seen soul eater or parts of it a bare minimum of 10 times, and was clearly paying very close attention.
