SpongeBob SquarePants: Civil War would be the ultimate Nicktoons movie. Fuck how edgy I thought my .avi creepypasta was. I wanna see the Nicktoons choose between SpongeBob and Timmy Turner and Duke it out.

Hard pills to swallow:
Being a Tony Stark stan is not a personality trait.
Just like being in team cap is not a personality trait.
Your personality should not be shaped by Tonky Stank or Steve Rogers.
Being in the armed forces or being religious are also not personality traits.

Hold My Girl
Summary: (Bucky Barnes x Fem!Reader) Based on George Ezra’s Hold My Girl. So, a sad angsty drabble with a soon to be frozen Bucky and his s/o
Warnings: angst, mentions of needles
Word Count: 615
A/N: I was listening to Hold My Girl, and me and my bestie @gingerwritess started brainstorming what were the angstiest fics we could write based on this song. Here’s what I wrote, enjoy! ;)
Tumblr media
A tear of mixed emotions slid down your cheek. Looking at Bucky, in all white, trying to pure himself from his past and his sad smile barely allowed you to keep it together.
He had his hands held limply in his lap in a sign of submission. His shoulders drooping forward, caving in on himself, but a hopeful look shining in his eyes.
Doctors scurried around, nurses injecting Bucky different medicines in preparation through an IV. The whole time he held eye contact with you, his pools of ocean blue never wavering from your own eyes. In his eyes, you could see the horror from his memories reflected in the sadness you found there. It wasn’t leaving him alone. That’s why the cryo was needed. Though you desperately wished that wasn’t true.
You smiled back to him, trying to convey all your support, but another tear slipped from your watery eyes. Bucky cocked his head, frowning before lifting his one hand to your face, wordlessly wiping it off. No words were needed. He felt that you knew. He could feel it.
Silence continued to be shared between the two of you, the quiet love never wavering. You held his hand with yours, rubbing soothing circles with your thumb. You could see him starting to tense up when the doctors started to get faster, started to get closer.
His eyes wandered to the syringes they continued to fill and measure, the time was approaching sooner. With your free hand, you held his chin, pulling his face back to look at you. He flashed you a small smile of gratitude before calming under your touch. You fingers started to play with his scruff, the repetitive motion settling Bucky’s building nerves.
Nothing could be done thought, when the doctors told him they were ready for the final shot before he would be placed in the chamber. Fear coursed through his eyes, they flashed pleadingly up to yours, screaming at you to help him. It broke your heart. You squeezed his hand one last time, before letting go. Your hands, now cold but containing the memory of Bucky’s warm hand, were limply held at your sides. They begged to be held by his warm palm again.
More tears slowly fell from your face, and you tried to wipe them away before he could see them. When he flinched slightly at the last injection, it felt like your heart had been ripped in two. The doctors told him the last step was here. He just was to be placed in the chamber. You took a step back as two doctors helped him to his feet, and when they started to guide him to the chamber, he stopped.
“Give me a minute to hold my girl”
Sluggishly, he walked to you on his own, wrapping you in his arms. His hand found the back of your head, his fingers weaving there way through your hair. He buried his face into your neck, inhaling deeply, the scent of you fresh in his mind.
You clung to him tightly, your arms holding his midsection like it might actually keep him here with you. Now, you were unable to keep the tears at bay. They flowed freely. Pressing your face into his chest, it felt like a piece of your heart was already missing.
When the doctors said it was time, he placed a delicate kiss on the top of your head, before pulling you away.
When he had situated himself into the chamber, and before the cold air would blow in, he flashed you a sad smile, a smile that would haunt you for days to come.

One thing I’ve been thinking about a lot is how Bucky, after being beaten to his worse by iron man in CACW was able to come to his senses enough to hold back Tony when he was about to go for the final blow on Steve. And then I realised it. It was what Steve said that made Bucky realise he needed to help his friend out. Save him.
Think about it. In CA:TFA small, pre-serum, Steve is getting beat up in the back of an alley, he can’t win but he doesn’t want to seem weak, so he says “I could do this all day.” And who comes to his rescue after he says those words? Bucky. It’s the same in Civil War. Bucky’s down and Tony’s just kicked Cap’s ass, once Steve tells him that he can “do this all day” Bucky’s first instinct is to protect Steve. He’s in trouble, he needs help. So while still down he grabs onto to Tony’s boot to give Cap the chance he needs finish the fight. Because when Steve says those words, Bucky remembers that little kid who he knew back in Brooklyn who couldn’t finish a fight and needed his friends help. Those where the words he would say when he knew he was losing, but still was willing to give it his all. It were the words Steve would say before being saved by his best friend, Bucky.
Idk If I’ve worded this correctly, but I’ve been thinking about this a lot recently. And I realise again, Bucky will never be able to get over his instinct that his friend since childhood will always need his help.

Unpopular opinion: Capatain America civil war was the start of a decline for Iron man. It took away the development he got from the second and third iron man movies, including him coming to terms with his father. They should've ended his arc after Age of Ultron, and allowed him to retire in peace.
for funsies: send me upopular/popular opinions
strongly agree | agree | neutral | disagree | strongly disagree
I had to put this as both agree and neutral as I do feel the same way, but for different reasons. And I also didn't mind what happened to him in "Endgame." Not that I WANTED that to happen, but sometimes heroe's don't get happy endings so I appreciated the story telling of that. Just.. a lot of other stuff, I didn't.

my thoughts on the new episode of tfatws with my character study/analysis
this episode had a ton more action while still progressing the narrative, but at the same time, it also works hard to demonstrate the contrasts between sam wilson and john walker.
sam is an incredibly kind and empathetic person, as seen when he was willing to talk to karli. he understood where she was coming from, but he also wants to show her that despite his understanding, he couldn't quite get behind what she is doing because of the people that are killed/would be getting hurt as a result of what she is doing. the most important thing this episode showed regarding sam was that he doesn't result to violence first: he wanted to talk to karli first and it isn't until everything went to shit and karli threatened his family that he engaged in a fight. but even then, he's also shown restraint: his fighting was to defend himself, not to attack. furthermore, the super soldier serum was strongly highlighted in this film.
when zemo asked sam if he was ever offered the serum and whether he would have taken it if it was offered to him, he said no without an ounce of hesitation. the serum could give the user enhancements, but enhancements don't make someone a better person or more of a hero. sam knows this. after all, he doesn't have any enhancements, but he does use the falcon wings and red wing technology as an avenger. he doesn't get insecure about his lack of super powers, despite having been surrounded by two super soldiers (steve and bucky) and a telepath with witchy powers that came from an infinity stone (wanda). i think it also had to do with being around tony stark (whose 'power' was his brilliance and his iron man suits), rhodey (who was brilliant but also had a techy suit), scott lang (who also had a suit and the pym particles), clint barton (whose only enhancement seems to be his incredible aim) and natasha romanoff (although we don't really know if she had any enhancements in the mcu): all of them don't have powers but have technology or skills that they used instead of relying on super strength or other powers, like wanda has. this is not a bad thing, but a good thing: being around more people who lack powers allow sam to be more secure in his mindset regarding being a hero.
by contrast, john walker hasn't been around the avengers and he wants to be just as great as his predecessor (steve rogers) was. as such, walker was under the belief that the serum would make him just as great as steve was, maybe even more. it could be why he doesn't hesitate to want to take the serum, but he disregards the risks that came with the serum: his sole focus was to be better because his pride was hurt after the dora milaje kicked his ass. furthermore, he's the one character in the episode who seemed to have the mindset of 'attack first, ask questions later'. even lemar hoskins appeared willing to let sam talk to karli before barging in there. thus, his mentality and mind set is very much different from sam and goes on to show why sam should be captain america and not him.
john walker was also who steve rogers could have been after bucky died. in this episode, hoskins dies (maybe he actually did, but that extra shot of the side of his face makes me doubt that he's actually dead) after being thrown by karli at a pillar. as a result of his death, walker seems to go crazy with grief and chases down one of the flag smashers. even though the flag smasher tried to plead with his life, walker continued to smash the shield against him, eventually decapitating him in broad daylight. this is a very striking difference from steve. steve also lost bucky back in the 40s, but after bucky's death, he only retreated to a bar and was drinking a bit. but he was more determined to finish the fight with the red skull and destroy hyrda for what they had done. the difference between them was that walker as a 'perfect soldier', doesn't necessarily mean he's a good man: he abandoned logic and reason and was completely merciless towards an innocent person. while steve rogers as a 'good man' was not the perfect soldier, but he directed his anger and grief and used those emotions to finish the mission without having to hurt any innocent person.
the episode was also filled with many symbolisms, particularly that of the shield and its legacy. the flag smashers also want to destroy the shield and it seems that at this point, it would be the right thing to do. the shield was used for protecting and defending. even in civil war (although i'm not team cap, i'll admit that) when steve was fighting against tony in siberia, he was using that shield to defend bucky. but when he used the shield to hurt tony and when tony reminded him that he didn't deserve the shield because howard made it, he left it. he used the shield against in endgame after tony gives it back to him, before ultimately leaving the shield with sam.
sam couldn't take the shield because he thought that he couldn't live up to steve's legacy. the government then decided to give the shield to someone who would be their new captain america aka walker. sam is even more hesitant to take the shield because of what happened with isaiah bradley, and rightfully so too. but now, that shield is covered with the blood of an innocent man and thus tarnishing the legacy that steve left for that shield.
i know this is more of an analysis than a review, but the episode was just completely amazing in terms of showing these contrasts between who captain america is and who captain america should be. the legacy of the shield is indeed complicated, but it is only right that sam would take the mantle of captain america, because he is the capatain america that the modern world needs; he is what america should exemplify and try to be.

Hi!Mr. Thor! How’s it going with Loki and the other Asgardians? And how are you? I have a question, if you were in the Civil War, which side would you have taken? Iron man, or Capatain America?
What is this Civil War you are talking about? I have no recollection of this occurrence.
