The indecisive heart

One Night, Carol left her notebook by accident in the libary and her friends found it... now it was her time to fess up about her crushes.

Lessons were over, the sun was slowly setting as Carol returned to her room. She sighed given a lot of stress was behind her and she could now slowly take a breather… but then she noticed something about her bag. It was gone… the notebook she kept about her relationships, feelings and thoughts… despair set in her heart and the stress was back. She hoped she locked the book and just left it accidentally in the Library… she was about to rush out her room but then… 

She noticed commotion in the dorm and every of her friends looking at her… she noticed Keres held that same notebook in her hand… she gulped in terror as the group heard suddenly a knock. 

"Hey Carol, ready for the Su… shi… oh.." 

Leroy barged in but seeing the tense situation and Carol's notebook both him and Lyla put two and two together… that her friend discovered her secrets..  that they looked into the book at least. 

"Carollie, Mellomar and I already went through our crushes… seems it's your turn now." 

"Can you at least tell me how you got the book?" 

Orion smirked. "You left it open in the Library, be lucky we found it." 

She was the most terrified of what Kirsten made out of what she read already but given the situation she couldn't back down… after all they read enough and it was only fair she gave them the whole picture. So she took a deep breath. 

"Lyla, Leroy… I am sorry but I won't come to Sushi night." 

Leroy had a snarky smile on his face as he and Lyla sat down and spoke up

"And you think we just leave… we know most of yours anyways and… this could be fun." 

Carol let out an exhausted sigh. If only today wasn't that loaded with work… if only the stress didn't make her forget it, then she wouldn't be in this situation. 

'But also maybe it does help talking about this to finally make a decision myself… ' she thought to herself.  The group of friends all settled down comfortable in the Ramshackle lounge. Orion seemed to keep the notebook a bit away from Melody,  Carol could guess why, Melanie instead tried to chat with her and Hinata a little while Keres and Kirsten looked at her with somewhat sharp eyes, Nyphy was looking curious at Leroy's tail while he and Lyla mumbled about how many they could guess. As Carol took a deep breath to brace herself for this. 

"You can ignore the first few pages, cause they are the only people that bother me." 

Hinata looked down as he read 3 names that were all too familiar with him, blushing a little as some of the others in the room looked at him worried or groaned. Carol gave a disappointed look as Kirsten spoke up.

“You should have just kicked Barry, then he wouldn’t bother you.”

“That's just not the person I am… anyways I just keep these few notes to avoid people that give me headaches so, moving on.”

She knew if they badmouthed them and lingered Hinata would feel bad so she quickly derailed the topic and tried to steer them to the first candidate.

“That one was an obvious one, it's Jamie.” Keres exclaimed pointing at the book. Melanie suddenly raised her head in surprise. “Really?! I didn’t expect you to like him too.”

“Wait… too?”

Melanie suddenly shut her mouth as if saying something she shouldn’t have said but Carol gave a satisfied nod and smile escaping her with a blush… as Kirsten coughed telling her to speak up subtly. Keres looked back at Mel.

“It was pretty obvious how she looked at him when he was training. Those eyes were staring.”

“Hey it's not only that!”

“I also saw her read a lot of books about Knights lately.” Melody smiled innocently as Carol looked back at the group. Leroy snickering in the back. 

“He is just… such a gentleman to me, he puts people that bother me in place, helps me when I struggle to get through Ace and Deuce, and just being close to him… it makes my heart race… and of course as you mentioned before he is very attractive to me as well. And well it's true those books might have given me a romanticized view of Knights too but just… seeing that smirk… having him near and eating something nice with him… “

She looked off dreaming a little as Orion stood up and gave her a pat on the back.

“T-that is all I wanna say about him, anyways moving on.”

“Hey Melody, can you get us some popcorn to snack on?” Orion exclaimed as Melody got up with a happy nod… Kirsten turned to the next page and looked serious at Carol.

“You know what we did this… why the hell is Melody's brother Rowan on here?”

Carol froze up…Leroy was about to say something as Kirsten gutted her elbow into his side. “Ouch.”

“I wanna hear it from her.”

“R-right… I didn’t want it to happen myself but… as I met him we got into talks about Flowers and I had some curiosities about certain types and its meaning, so I gave him my number and.”

“Bold Carollie… very bold.”

“I c-couldn’t help it… he has those soft eyes, this nice muscular body… this gentle nature I just… he was so sweet and I just felt more and more happy chatting with him.”

Orion laughed in the back a little as Melanie looked up at her with a smile.

“You seem to like him a lot though from how you talk… and I can get it, I love tending to flowers so it's nice to get to talk to someone.”

Hinata also nodded. “Also that blonde is a nice shade on him.”

Carol nodded with a smile. “Around him I just feel I can nerd about plants and he listens to me… as well as the flowers I got from him… I keep them dear. “

Kirsten groaned. “Urgh just move on. I don’t wanna sit here forever.”

Melody came in with the bucket and looked at the group. 

“Did I miss something?”

“Nothing important, you wouldn’t know the person anyways.”

As she said that she could feel some judgemental stares from Keres and Kirsten at her before they turned the page.

This time Melanie looked in first.

“Oh Jonas is a sweetheart, I can get you with that.”

Keres tilted their head. “But you do know that he is- Ouch my boob.”

Kirsten left a swift punch at them as if to tell Carol to continue as she pressed her fingers together.

“Yes I know and I don’t care. He brought me happiness not only by bringing me back to Piano and so honoring my friend Eve who is not here, he was nothing but a cute and sweet guy that I just love being around… “

Melody clapped her hands and smiled. “Seeing you next to each other also gives me those wholesome couple vibes.”

Carol blushed a little hearing that… Most looks at her were in approval as she carried on.

Orion tilted her head. 

“Do any of you guys know this Vigil guy?”

Lyla spoke up. “Even Leroy and I haven’t seen him yet, we at first thought she imagined him up.”

Keres perked their head up. “I do remember Carol telling me about him after I ran away from Achilles that he saved her from an attack but… that is all I know about him… can you tell us more?”

“It's a bit complicated to explain myself… he is somewhat of a guardian angel… and I mean he literally is an angel… I can’t even choose when I get to see him, he just appears, gets me out of an uncomfortable situation and has to leave again… yet… that he goes out of his way to help me and to see him like that… it does make my heart race.”

“Yes she became crazy…” Kirsten sighed. “I AM NOT.”

Melanie spoke up. “She really isn’t… I saw by accident how something like that happened and he is real…”

“Good… cause I actually thought sometimes if I dreamt him up…”

Nyphy spoke up. “So you fell for someone you literally don’t even know exists?”

Carol sighed… “Did you ever feel something if you read a book and liked a character so much you swooned for him… anyways let's just drop this all I can say is… if he is real or not… I just appreciate all he does and… I wish I could see him more often.”

Suddenly as Keres turned the page they started blushing.

“No way, you too?”

“What is Keres?” Melody tilted her head.

Melanie looked over. “Oh my…”

“Not only does she also have Jesh on her list just like me… but Lustre and Maya are right after.”

Carol hid her face red in shame before speaking up.

“L-Listen… as I often went to the mansion to tutor Sin the three made me feel a bit homey there… I just find all three very attractive… even if Jesh’s attitude goes on my nerves… that is all, nothing more nothing less.”

As she tries to defend herself Leroy smirks as well as Orion mumbling while Lyla just avoids her face, mainly because she actually knows what has been going on in Carol's head.

“It's probably also for dir-”

Before Leroy could speak up, Lyla scruffed him by his neck as if to tell him to be quiet.

Looks were exchanged as Carol just grew in red panic and mess before them.

“It's mainly just Lustre and Maya treating me well and making me comfortable and weak, Jesh is just literally his attractiveness that draws me to him… that is my honest opinion, c-can we move on?” Keres nodded in approval as with a smile as the rest turned the page.

Melody looked curious as she pointed at a page.

“Kalida… isn’t he from Scarabia?”

“Doesn’t he have stitches on his mouth, what is up with that?”

Carol cleared her throat. 

“It is because he is part Naga… He may seem intimidating to many but getting to know him… he is to me very sweet and just misunderstood. “

“Wait, so does that mean he is Venomous?” Keres asked.

“Lennox is too and he seems to swirl around both Melody and Melanie so hush. I met him in the library and even if he is less on the talkative side, there is something charming about him… I feel he deserves love but doesn’t get it much. And his flute playing also calms me a lot.”

Orion snickered. “Something tells me you will have a lot of tall monsters on your list.”

“You… would be right in that regard but… to sum it up… I just care about Kalida a lot and hope he gets accepted more…”

Suddenly Melody looked a bit confused. 

“Carol what is this “potential” thing that is next to the name?”

"Oh! Those are people that I don’t have  an actual crush on but are close to me. It could be that I have feelings but don’t realize them.”

Keres suddenly seemed more awake and looked over the book.

“No way then… then Henry Lakeside is-”

Suddenly Leroy spat the Soda he was drinking and Carol looked away from him.

“NO WAY YOU WROTE DOWN MY BOSS! WHY DIDN’T YOU TELL ME?”

“Cause I knew you would react that way? And as said I wrote him down as potential, I could be wrong but I do like a lot about him.”

Lyla tried to calm Leroy down but he still talked. 

"She deserves far better than this stuck up ass rich man. "

Carol coughed fakely as if to tell him to shut Up and he did. 

"The reason I put him here is I do enjoy spending time with him. I often worry about him overworking as well as… He does look handsome and also treats me well in regards with respect and helping me as well. I feel close to him." 

"Tch… it just makes me sick… his family can be so corrupt and you're just not… fine I will be quiet. "

The other girls looked more in understanding while Leroy grumbled away as Lyla noticed something.

"Why is there an arrow to the next site?" 

Carol nodded as if realizing something. 

"Well… I met Nauwe thanks to Henry… and he does seem to have interest in him as well…" 

Keres chuckled. 

"You as well think about I can take them both-"

Once again Kirstens annoyed stare shut them up as they sat down. 

"IT'S NOT THAT…I compared Henry to actually having a crush on him…he and his culture are very fascinating…and-"

"Isn't that also a guy who walks around Shirtless 24/7?"

"Keres,you can't talk."

"You two are so predictable…" 

For once both Carol and Keres shrugged at the same time as Melanie and Melody laughed a little… the previous tense mood lifted and Leroy calmed down as they continued. 

"Anyways another thing you will not only notice with Nauwe but with some others on this list is… I also am interested in learning other languages to understand people. More and… there is something that sends shivers down my spine when someone attempts to court someone like that."

"You probably brought that up because of Esca right?" 

Melanie had the book in her hand and asked. 

"Y-yes… the way he pins me to the wall… the way he calls me Mi Amor… I am just- "

"Urgh we get it, keep it in your panties. "

Kirsten snapped at her as Carol tried to dust off something from her skirt and continued..

"It's not only that… just seeing how he takes care of his cats is precious… the way he always gives off this gentle aura… I just feel swoon by it.”

Orion leaned back and grabbed some popcorn into her mouth. 

“Dang, some of the other picks seemed more exciting.”

“What did we expect from Miss Righteous?”

“Trust me, I saw some interesting things Carollie put here…”

As Keres smirked Carol shortly worried what they meant and continued.

“And on that topic, who I put under potential was also Azure… I met him in RSA when I was on my way to teach Fabio under a tree and even though I do care a lot about him as a friend… Yuuta tries to set us up as a couple and it doesn't help."

"It's good he is out currently…" 

"If he was here I knew he would just shut down any of my other crushes and push for the ones profitable to him." 

Melanie spoke up after Carol complained.  

"But you do actually feel something for him or else you wouldn't have put him In here." 

"Yes I do enjoy Azure's company a lot and when he is near me… but just a lot makes me unsure… For one I don't wanna give Yuuta the satisfaction of thinking he got us together and I also don't even know if Azure would be interested in me romantically." 

Melody and Melanie put a Hand on her shoulder.

"You can always try asking him… subtly." 

"Maybe… let's move on, we still have lots to go through."

As the next topic was brought up someone wanted to actually get out of his room but stopped as he overheard the conversation.  

"Des, huh Is it alright to even talk about him when he is here in the dorm." 

Carol played with her hair and blushed. 

"I think the walls are thick enough for him to not hear us. But well … aside from him helping me with that wayfinder I wanted to make, he is just to me very supportive… he has that charm about him and the times he complimented me as being his model for drawing makes me happy." 

"What I learned today is that Melanie, Keres and Carol are all blind to people liking them back." 

"Huh?!" 

As Kirsten said that bluntly all three looked confused at her as Carol explained herself. 

"I just wanna be sure and don't interpret any kindness in that. But anyways… Des is just a person I can always rely on to feel well around."

From the previous door Des closed it to not give away he heard their whole conversation… This was his secret for now… as the girls moved on.

Keres chuckled reading the next name. 

"Well this one has an obvious crush on her from what I saw…" 

"Oh Punch, isn't he in Kirstens dorm?" 

"I don't pay attention to some nerds." 

As Leroy heard her say that annoyed, he somewhat looked down. 

Melody asked her more about it. 

"Punch to me is somewhat of a buddy… we are in the board game club together and I get along with his sister well too… yet I only put him under potential because we are that close. But you really think he has a crush on me." 

"Carollie… it is way too obvious… he always hides that blush around you." 

"I-I see… I never thought people would actually be liking me this much…"

In particular Leroy, Nyphy and Kirsted stared at her judgy while Hinata chuckled.  

"That you get so many following you and being close to you is proof enough."

Orion laughed."If we went by that, Keres would be popular just cause so many people chase them but that is not the case."

Keres sighed as Carol let out a chuckle. 

"Either way, Punch is a sweetheart but seems often a bit too wholesome that I feel I would overwhelm him so…"

"Wait, I thought you would stay away from Kombatra at all cost, why is Kaminari on this list?" Melanie seemed confused. She was often visiting Kierron there so she must know.

"I met him outside the dorm and we often drink tea together… he allows me to watch him train and I often join him too. He has… this very soothing aura to me and…. His eyes are really beautiful. I just feel not only safe around him… I feel like thanks to him I grow a lot myself too.”

“Angels, Deities, you really don’t shy away from anything.”

“Come to think of it, she has many long living people on her list, you know they will probably outlive you.”

“That is a risk I am willing to take… if it's to be with someone I care a lot about.”

As she said that so determined many gave her a light smile however Melanie seemed the most happy about her choices.

“But I did see how you are next to him, it feels like you are far less stressed and just happy… so I can see why he somewhat became a safespace for you.”

With a determined smile she nodded yet Lyla spoke up.

“I think we are halfway there right, who is next?”

Eventually a sigh escaped Keres as they read the next name.

“Not you too… you also have a crush on Florence like Melanie….”

Carol flushed a little and put her finger together as Leroy spoke up.

“Oh that guy often went to our Sushi nights. I remember, today he said he was busy with the infirmary.”

“Florence not only helps me with my curiosity about medicine and getting better at taking care of others, it's so nice of him to often check up on me and see that I don’t overwork myself… “

“If that is what you care for, she does that often also if you don’t want it.”

“Keres!” Melanie looked at them as they sighed.

“I am sorry but I just really can’t stand it, It always feels so off.”

“That is fine, you don’t have to like him, but I really adore how sweet he can be with his comments and how well he reacts to praise… it's cute to make him blush.”

Melody chuckled. “He really is cute, I understand.”

Keres laughed at the next choice.

“Guess many of us can agree on Daido but I am surprised… you do know he does cause a lot of destruction right?”

This was the first time Carol actually stood in silence searching for an explanation but then she spoke up.

“I feel he needs someone to be there to calm him and take care of him… he always seems so tired… as well as he has Kimi to take care of. “

“‘I can fix him’ mentality huh… but I can understand you crushing on him, have you seen his body?”

Kirsten once again punched the back of the head from Keres to keep them from speaking, visibly tired from listening to this… 

“Given he is already pretty popular I hardly think I have a chance but… That doesn’t stop me from maybe having some hopes… and I do also enjoy just helping him out with school work.”

Melody got curious, flipping the page.

“But you noted Raede as well?”

As the group looked into the book they gasped a little, Kirsten having a small smirk that already bodes terrible to her too.

“Dos of all people too… you really are after Single fathers huh? Isn’t he also the one who beat up someone till he was bloody?”

“I never said my taste is perfect… but I still have people on my list that have the potential to change or just didn’t murder anyone.”

“You never know-”

Melanie tried to break up the commotion by commenting.

“Anyways, can you tell us why you like them?”

“Right… Raede in all not only that I take care of Raysel, he is very sweet in giving me flowers, as well as often spending time with him in the greenhouse and talking about some Romance stories is calming… even if I myself also have fallen for Daido, I feel Raede also deserves more people who appreciate him. Dos meanwhile… I did go for an exchange to DAC where two of my crushes came from and just seeing those big eyes look at me as I played with trinity and told something about me, he seemed a very sweet listener even if a bit odd.”

“To me this only sounds you are into di-”

“Tch…” Leroy shivered as Kirsten had this glare at him again.

“Alright I stop before Kirsten punches me again.”

“So let me guess, Parker also started a crush from  that exchange?”

Hinata sighed as he looked at the picture they had as Kirsten gave him a punch in the arm. 

“We get it if you like blondes… Carol, do you even know anything about this man?”

“Not much actually… but the time I was at the exchange program… there was just something about him that drew me in… he watched out for me… he did also show me how to use a gun a little…”

“And you didn’t ask yourself that it's odd that he knows very well how to use one?” “Kirsten… he is from a combat school.”

“So you know him well Kirsten?” Melanie asked.

“I heard rumors… he is polite I must admit but… I would watch out.”

Carol gave a nod. “If I ever feel unsafe I will back off.”

“Tch you all are pathetic and hopeless with your crushes really.”

She sat back and drank some soda as Leroy watched her curiously, Lyla sighing next to him.

“Explain to us more why you have not one but two Vampires on your list?”

Keres pointed to the pages of Damien and Daniel next to another.

“Come on you say that like you don’t stare at Alucard a lot despite him being hella intimidating.”

“This is about you, not me.”

Carol sighed and suddenly flushed red thinking about the both.

“Damien is to me just very much like one of the book protagonists I would fall for… how many times he pulled me to the side and protected me…Those red striking eyes that looked at me in interest, he often also catched my fall… hah…there is something very attractive about him.

Daniel on the other hand… I managed to help him with his troubles through training.”

“I saw this ‘training’ . It seemed more like a free pass to stare at him.”

“It's more so I try to understand him more, but you would also be right that he does often get me a little more to be a mess, often his comments make me slip up and make me blush like crazy… but it's more so me wanting to guide him to a better life you could say… ignoring my crush… I do want to make his life better than what I feel he went through.”

Melody jumped up. “And you wouldn’t mind becoming a Vampire from them as well?”

“I am… unsure but maybe… I know when it comes to blood I am more worried but… if it means staying longer with them, I would.”

The Group went silent, some in concern, others smiling at her… mixed reactions all around as she quickly tried to get back.

“Um l-let's just move on for now.”

“For fucks sake, you have Watson on this list…”

Kirsten gritted her teeth in annoyance.

“I know he seems odd but there is something charming about his oddness… he is also pretty romantic which I enjoy. “

Orion chuckled. “I feel Kirsten is more annoyed cause he attempted to give her a rose too and she punched him in the gut in return.”

"Oh, really?"

Kirsten grumbled a little as Leroy spoke up.

“I did hear that he seemed to be a former delinquent… at least Greg mentioned something.”

“The past is the past, the times I met him he was just very much someone charming. I also did talk to him and it seems more like his brother's influence…”

“Can we just fucking move on… I get tired hearing about him.”

“Wait, aren’t Adam and Terry your students? And isn’t Adam a prince?”

Melody shouted excited…

“I wonder why you even have Terry on the list when he is just staring at your chest a lot…”

“I noticed, don't worry…  but there is more to that… let me just.”

She took a bottle of water and drank from it because she had been talking for a while.

“Terry is one of my hard to get something done with students… but he also is often in the Library as I am so it feels comfortable to just chat a lot… he did also offer to help me get better at running and so I tutor him a lot. I put him under potential cause again… in that regard I feel he likes me more than I like him but that could change… there is something about him that often makes it hard for me to refuse things or want to spend time with him.”

Keres chuckled. “It's the wolf's eyes, cause I remember you mentioned on the page with Jesh too that you get weak when they use their eyes on you.”

Quickly she grew bright red. “H-Hey no fair you remember that!”

She tried to calm down and went back to talking.

“Adam on the other side is one of my hardest working students and I notice that… I am also just happy that he often does enjoy my failed food experiments and eats them happily. But I think the reason I mainly like him is… it's really uncomplicated to just talk to him about things and he is always so kind to me. And even if others find some of his puns or flirt attempts odd, I actually find them entertaining.”

“Be glad you found a dumpster for that horrid food, I mean didn’t the last one you made move.”

“Kirsten!” 

As she shrugged Nyphy looked in horror… “It really did look scary.”

Carol looked down… but then suddenly had an idea.

“Well there are actually two people who help me improve that and are also on this list… Adam is also one but… Ronald also helps me a lot to improve.” 

“I feel half of your picks on crush are either just normal guys or monsters.”

Melody smiled after Orion said that.

“Oh I remember this guy,  the treats that dorm makes are amazing.”

Carol nodded approvingly.

“He noticed once that I had struggled with cooking and since then I just enjoyed chatting with him, even if it often seems he scolds me a lot for wanting to do too much at once. I appreciate just him being there talking to me as well as listening to him teach me how to prepare some dishes.”

“Then you should chat less and focus more on what he is teaching you or else you will create more blobs.”

Some giggles went around the room as Hinata spoke up.

“It can't be that bad.”

“How about you try one then?”

Carol sighed and took some purple taffys that looked like they were breathing out of her pocket. Hinata gulped but then ate some of them, humming happy.

“They taste good, I don’t know what you guys mean.”

Carol's eyes lit up in happiness as the rest of the group sighed… 

“Only 3 pages left it seems, let's just finish this off.”

Leroy suddenly perked up.

“No way, Sawyer… I only heard about him from Gregory and he seemed grumpy and scaryas I saw him.”

“Well that sounds up Carollies taste from what we saw for sure.” Keres said a bit teasingly. 

Carol adjusted her glasses and cleared her throat again.

“He is part of the Kendo club, you might have seen him as well Keres, given you know Nanoya.”

“I don’t see half of these other members.”

The group went silent. Carol just tried to continue the conversation.

“Sawyer does have a tough shell… to many he may seem mean but I seen more behind it, at first I also thought he just disliked anyone but… getting to know him and having the chance to see him more… he actually does care and he actually did help me a lot despite me not asking him too…  I still can’t tell if I even have a chance at him but… I at least wanna try to know why he is like that and be there for him as well.”

“Just don’t get your hopes up too much, Carol… Greg said he basically doesn’t talk to any of his dorm members… however this means at least.. maybe it's a good thing you can talk to him.”

Lyla took the book and went to the next page.

“So about Cho-hee?”

Keres suddenly perked up again.

“I totally understand her with that actually. He is a cutie.”

Orion looked in the group. “He is in my dorm, I wanted to fight him a lot and always found a way to dodge me.”

“I am glad you didn't. I feel lots of people also just dismiss him because of those scars when a heart of gold is under there.”

“You really are into scars in general huh… many of your pics have them.”

“Maybe… I want to mend them… make them better. But that is not the point here… just having Cho-hee around…I feel happy. Especially when he gets embarrassed and tries to hide his face… it's just the sweetest. “

“You really have something for sea creatures too huh?”

“THIS ISN’T ABOUT MY TYPE.”

She sighed and took the notebook back from the girl's hands into hers.

“So lastly is Emrys, a powerful magician, very easy to talk to and he does his best to teach me about things I didn’t know.”

“So you two basically are teaching each other?” Melody asked as Carol nodded.

“And another likely ancient guy to her pile too.”

She sighed hearing the comments and tried to calm.

“I don’t only like him because of that, the things he can do are impressive, he is often there to just answer my questions and support me, as well as keep an eye out for anything he can help me with. I enjoy his company a lot.”

“You really are in some regards a hypocrite Carol.”

Keres chuckled a little as Carol got pouty.

“Excuse me, but at least I did not name some obvious murderers or people that are just bad news all around.”

Kirsten seemed tired and got up as Leroy and Lyla looked at the time.

“Midnight… guess we really did talk long.”

“Can I please ask them not to touch my notebook? Yes it will get longer but it is actually my private space to get my thoughts off and in order.”

Orion smirked. “We can’t make any promises.”

“I still don’t like that you do like my boss but… ugh I guess I gotta accept it.”

“Just be careful about your decision, we don’t want you to get hurt.”

“I know… I can rely on you two.. and Lyla I know I can tell you anything.”

“I am glad I knew most of this and you did tell me a lot, or else I would have worried you don’t trust me as your friend.”

Both of them left as well only for her to sit with Melanie and Melody.

“That was brave of you Carol to tell so much about them.”

“I know Kirsten will use it against me but… better to be proud of it now and be called a Hypocrite than never talking about it at all… maybe this night helped me to make a decision.”

“It's just good to see so many people care about you.”

Melody finished the last of the popcorn and then asked something.

“Actually, who was the person I missed during the talks?”

Suddenly Carol grew in panic again.

“Um I feel a bit tired, hope you don’t mind me going to sleep, good night.”

She clung onto her notebook and rushed off to her room… sighing in relief this was all over.

Anyways this was a random idea in my head that mainly follows Carol who is struggling with her feelings... mainly cause she is crushing on people, there is people crushing on her, there is people bothering her and so to see how the situation is she asks some of her friends where she knows they can help her in their own ways...

Savvy @twst-the-night-away she could ask for advice on how to look for dates as well as knowing full well the situation

Tristan @atwstedstory is basically her bestied and the one to be perceptive of who is crushing on her.

Melanie @twsted-princess is in a similar situation than her and so could relate. (as well as having the extra info on James)

Dom @mimitwst knows about Carols occasional dirty mind and so can relate on that level what Carol desires.

Amore @terrovaniadorm is basically a love guru so she could also do well to give advice..

Sneeepyyyy

Slowly she opened her eyelids smelling a comforting smell that was earthy and a little strong... she remembered she fell asleep the day because she was exhausted... Esca allowed her to stay in his cottage and use his bed... what she didn't realize yet was that he was snoring next to her and slowly he turned to her and his arms fell around her... hugging her tight.

"H-huh?!"

A bit overwhelmed by the sudden hug she didn't move one bit, growing red as a tomato being face to face with his chest... worse as he squished her a little inside it and nuzzled his beard against her forehead.

'omgomgomgomgogmg.' Her head was a mix of panic, happiness and worry that she might get too squished by him the more he leaned to her... as she slightly used her fingers to tap his chest and wake him gently.

"Esca... hello... can you hear me?"

"Hmmnnnn apples.."

She felt him sniff into her hair in happiness but in worry a dream might make him eat her hair she pushed her head against his chest again in hopes to make him lean back but suddenly she felt his hand go lower in the embrace and grew even more nervous... eventually she managed to topple him over in his sleep but as he opened his eyes the situation wasn't better.

She sat now on top of him and looked him dead red in the eye.

"G-good morning... I tried to wake you but um... you didn't want to let me go s-so I-"

As she tried to excuse herself he pulled her close with a hug again.

"Could you still stay a little like this... the apple smell gave me a nice dream so... I wanna embrace it."

"O-of course... if you want it."

Her head was a big mess about now but... something about waking up like this... she wanted more of it.... she wanted to wake up like this every morning... Embracing the warmth he had to give her... leaning onto him comfortably... it was peacefull yet so comforting.

A lot bothered me about the old version... cause it had no real consequences so let me Elaborate.... Carol goes through her overblot and mainly healed her torso cause the flower in her chest cause a big wound but it would make sense she couldn’t heal all at once... so on her legs and arms are some scars left... The left version is her mainly in Canon, the right in DAC Au cause there some of the fighting accidentally cut her hair and since then she has short hair.

She also has now a more accurate body to being a wife and a mother...

Into the future

Even if both their bodies were hurt from what happened to them, that didn't stop Carol from promising to Esca that she would stick with him to the end and take care of him... thanks to her help and love the cats that feared him after his change slowly warmed up to him again and after school... they settled to life in a cottage in the forrest, enough space for all those Cats he so deeply cared for and with the help of friends they keeped them happy. Even if they weren't really married yet, Carol was already expecting their first child which she wanted to name after a gift he gave her a while ago, Camila, a studious young daughter who at a young age already indepent helped her parents to get well. With a while they have had a spontaneus forrest wedding with the closest friend present and celebrate a party worthy of those he celebrated back in school. Esca may still have felt down and a burden but Carol assured him each day how much she loved him... and soon after, they got another kid with Arlo, a curious young boy who had more of the previous charm of his father and was sure to be a beakon of hope for him... Things seemed peacefull and calm... Esca often got visits from Sebastián while Carol provided him thanks to her teacher job with everything he needed, often coming back to him sitting on the couch covered in a bunch of cats.

Even if they both still felt the scars and the hurt from everything, they kissed each others away and grew strong together. Living together one with Nature and having stuff to do each day.

Well this one mainly spurted out of fun... I just wanted to draw Fabio with people who could be compared to his height and in the end it just became Fabio hanging in Serendipia while Mel is stuck between both of her crushes with Fabio and Sin as well as Carol getting annoyed again by Lustres advances... while Damián at least helps her halfway to see not as small like Mel does.XD

Some friends on discord gave me some AU ideas which I wanted to jokingly draw.

First is a Nisekoi Scene with Leroy and Catherine @thetwstwildcard mainly I think the plot of Nisekoi really would work perfect with Leroy in general cause his dad is already Yakuza.

Secondly which was @twsted-princess Idea, James as Pazu and Carol as Sheeta in Castle in the Sky... I can see the dynamic be slightly different, mainly that Carol is actually more curious about exploring and calmer in some situations....

And lastly Damián @silent-dragon and Carol as the Beauty and the Beast, only that Damián has been plagued by a curse instead that only deteriates his body with time and true love should heal him.

Let me also add a link here to part one of the first 4 ships headcanon so I keep them in mind.

Esca

Since a dream where Carol heard him mumbling something about fairies she often had a butterfly wing hair accesoire in her head which made him somewhat more attached to her to cuddle that day

She knows best not to get out her phone when he is nearby so its mainly off in her bag and she relies on reading and chatting with him instead

She is obsessed seeing him smile of laugh so she does her best to always keep him in a good mood and spoil him with something to see that smile again

Often mindlessly stroking his beard or touching his chest on instinct, at least when they are alone and she gets distracted...

One day he was worried cause he lost her being surrounded by cats who wanted her attention... but found her quickly after asking once.

Jesh

When she is reading alone, she often can't be alone cause he will pull her on his lap and touch her all over to get attention

However she is a sucker for sometimes just patting his ears while he lays down on her chest to rest a little

Never goes shopping with him... often tries to ask to go with Lustre or someone else instead cause she knows its only him making bargains

Given we talked about how he is not fond of looking at his hand I had the soft thought of her just taking it to her face and snuggling against it as if saying: "I do love every part of you, even the ones you do find ugly." (goes for the others too though)

Her Daughter Azalea became as bad as her dad but in the case that she calls out her mom on anytime she stares at him or any of her other partners soo she has to deal with little Jesh girl edition at times...

Would never admit him growling into her ear would have an instant effect on her.... making her nervouse quick

Lustre

I feel they often have times they just brush each others hair and Carol shares about all the annoyances she had to deal with in class... given both have long hair they do their best to not accidentally entangle them

The first person she goes to when she feels something bothering her or is in bad thoughts, cause she knows he instantly can make her feel better

They also go a lot to sweet cafes and get apple and strawberry theme dishes

Is often concerned about him for similar reasons he is concerned about others, caring about other people more than about yourself

Probably the one to get her most out of her comfort zone with his persuation

Maya

Each time Maya goes out as Ruibegold, Carol checks up on him once he is back just cause she hopes he comes back fine... she can be a slight worryward

Go to having the ability to make her rarely have nightmares and and she often just cuddles his tail during sleep while he sometimes cuddles her chest too

Thanks to her he could rest sometimes with maid work cause she did her hardest to help out where she could

"Cawol... can you tell me the stowy of the Shrine maiden?" "Sure, let me read it to you."

Terry

Probably often go out to eat big beef bowls and she tries when she can to explain him stuff even in free time hoping it sticks

Did ask him in return to help her get her sporty weakness more away and run with him from time to time

Probably would often watch Zombie movies with him cause he likes them and lean against him a little

"Yes... he is a dumbass sometimes but he is my dumbass and I do like how much I distract him... yet its also contraproductive... I need to find a way to use it."

He has learned to only use the puppy eyes on her when she isn't in strict teach mode.

"So teach, can you maybe give me some encouragement before we start?" *forehead kiss*

Raede

Keeps bug that likes to eat plants away from him, she knows how to release them safely, other bugs that are friendly to him they both often look at

Very much swoon each time he tries to win her over with Romance and flowers... lets her think back to stories she loves to read

Raysel already called her mom once and since then she already kinda behaves like Raysel is her daugther

Joined long baths with nice smells where she can get all her stress away and lay onto him

gives each of his tentacles often also a nice gesture in some nutritions or a small touch

"Just being near you makes me calm." "I do feel the same."

Watch her go all out with surprises for him

Adam

Aside him calling her apple cakes, or Apple pie I can also see him call her sprinkles sometimes too... she is not so the nickname person but calls him teasingly sweet cheeks when she is playfull

She always has some snacks in her bag if he needs them and they are out... often failed experiments from her previous cooking lessons with him

Both enjoy exchange kisses between them, for Adam also cause their tastes kinda mix and its a soothing experience

Has also joined his fencing tutoring in return to train at least a little bit

Even if not all pick up lines work on her, she often can turn them around to get him flustered instead... playing with words a little

Donut shop or Fast food dates between school, testing out any flavour on the menu and sharing things

He often asks her if she is homesick which she refuses yet he does all the same to make her feel as home as possible.

Despite not being used to Royalty it seemed like she had one of the best table manners as she visited his family I could see

Staying the night

Around the end of her lessons Carol payed a usual visit to the Serendipia dorm to see how Esca and the cats were doing. Getting into the Night Meow she already was greeted by a bunch of cats walking circles around her like welcoming her a mother of them, causing her to smile as she saw Esca arrive with a bunch of them on his antlers and in his arms.

"They seem to love you too, Mi Amor."

She leaned down to pat some of them.

"I actually wanted to stop by to see how you are doing but guess you are still busy?"

"I was about to put them all to bed, don't worry."

"O-oh right... guess I am just in the way then, sorry."

She was pushing some hair out her face and bowing as he stopped her from going.

"Mi Amor, would you maybe help me and after that stay over at my place? I currently see a lot of nightmares and..."

Seeing him ask her that genuine she smiled and took his hands.

"Of course I will, I would be Happy to."

Slowly both cleaned up and helped each of the cats in their boxes. After all work was done, she gently squeezed his hand walking to his cottage...

Taking some of her clothes off to get more comfy she felt Esca quickly pull her into bed and pull her tight to his body, taking a small sniff at her hair. Her face lifting up red.

"Be c-careful... if you squeeze me like a plush I might be squashed. "

"Don't worry I will hold back."

She turned back to him and smiled softly, carresing his face with her hands and letting on drift over his chest.

"Each time I look at you, I just feel so happy, Esca... I hope I can take these nightmares from you with some affection. "

"We can try it..."

Holding her close both shared some kisses under the blanket and snuggled against another... making each other comfortable as she showered him with affectionate words and small kisses over his body...

Feeling her soon close her eyes in his arms he let her rest against his chest and put one arm around him. The apple smell of her made his dreams much more pleasant as he imagined both of them spending time in the forest together... getting some decent sleep after such a long while.

Walking around the school she suddenly felt an odd feeling around her legs... hearing small purring as she noticed what it was.... a small cat, one of Escas mainly tried to lead her away to follow it...

School was over so to her it was not a problem to follow it out and eventually she met Esca waiting for her before a small farm store. Her trying to signal him to pick her up for a hut.

"Its like you can read minds that I wanted to see me, but odd location to choose."

"You will see why soon, Mi amor. "

Walking in and seeing this adorable little basket full of small chick's made her heart feel warm... looking at them in awe as Esca resisted to pick one of them up, the both of them enjoyed just looking at the different animals.

"And I thought Cats were your main passion. "

"I love so many animals but... Cats are just the ones I wanna help the most."

"Its really sweet of you... you always have this proud father like smile... its really pretty."

His face flushed a little red, giving her a little headpat.

"You really know how to claim someone's heart Mi Amor."

"That and I am honest with my feelings."

Both of them still looked around untill eventually Esca felt a little tired and they made their way back to his dorm.

Interrupted kiss

Around this time she shouldn't actually be awake but nightmares and bad thoughts plagued her head a little... needing to clear her head she stepped out of her dormitory walking amongst the moonlight, trying to take in its life like it was a dim sunshine...

As if her hopes to find some comfort were answered she walked into an familiar face picking up some lost cats, smiling faintly as she looked upon his face.

"Esca... do you need help?"

"Not at all, Mi Amor, but I would enjoy your company, now that you are here."

Both of them placed the cat into a comfy basket to get them back to his dorm and so put them to rest back... and then walked out together strolling through the woods of the Serendipia dorm... he noticed she wasn't her usual calm. In stead of asking to him the best course of action was to distract and so he turned to her and Kabedoned her against a tree like he often did to flirt, her face quickly growing red again.

"Mi Amor, is there a way I can put that previous smile back on your face?"

"So you noticed... its just nightmares, nothing to worry about but... I would take that offer if you know a way how to do that... "

"I think I do know just the way."

Swiftly he moved his head down to look eye and eye with her, taking in some of the apple scent on her, his big hand craddling her chin a little as he was about to lean closer... however before their lips could meet they heard a rustling noise in the bushes nearby... just to find Sable there who seemed a little emberassed to disturb them.

"Sorry to interupt but... the other members are doing a ruckus again, we need the dorm leader to step in."

A longing gaze exchanged between them both, Carol put a hand on his arm and gave him a smile.

"I can wait... this is more important... Mi Corazón... I can rest by your cottage right?"

"Make yourself at home, I will handle this."

With a nod both went seperate ways... however arriving at his room she quickly drifted to sleep... embraced by the faint smell of Esca in the bed and led to much better dreams... she might not have gotten her kiss but at least some better rest.
